Watch out, Mrs. Claus.

Oops! I caught Santa waiting for Mrs. Claus. He looks relaxed, jolly, and a little mischievous. This is what a happy marriage looks like, I think.

Ho Ho Whoa!

I imagine that Santa doesn’t get surprised too often, but if someone sprang out from behind the Christmas tree, he’d probably look like this. Eyebrows raised, eyes wide, and glasses askew. After a moment, though, he’d burst into a hearty Ho Ho Ho…because who doesn’t like a surprise?

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Have you ever tried to find a gingerbread cookie in June? Impossible! But in the next five weeks, gingerbread is definitely possible. I like the sweet, soft variety; not the crispy and spicy stuff. How about you?

The most dangerous thing about a long walk…

After a long summer crammed with high humidity and constant rain, I’m relieved to see cool temperatures and sunshine. To celebrate, I’m taking lots of long walks. I try to prepare before I embark on these trips. I change into sneakers. I bundle up. I charge my phone. I bring my key. I visit the bathroom. That never seems to work, though. Nature always calls when I reach a point in my walk when it’s not convenient to head home. What to do?

I sprint toward civilization.

By the way, I’m pleased to announce that this new running routine has added lean muscle to my physique and improved my conditioning. Soon, I’ll be able to sprint all the way home without stopping periodically to cry.

Happy fall, y’all!

Love,

Lynn

Beware of anything delicious

In honor of Halloween, I’m posting the most frightening sign in town. If you trick or treat near here, be extra careful of anything delicious in your Halloween basket.

Happy Halloween!

Love,

Lynn

Orange you glad it’s fall?

We’ve got lots of flat pumpkins on our trees. After a while, they turn into flat chocolate candy bars and fall to the ground. I’ve tried nibbling on them, but they’re not tasty and they get stuck in my teeth. They should stay on the branches, where they belong.

Have I mentioned that the neighbors think I’d weird?

Happy fall, y’all!

Love,

Lynn

Writing for a small publishing house.

Before I began to self-publish my work, I published a few books with The Wild Rose Press. They are a moderately-sized publishing house, so they might not have the reach of one of the top-five houses in New York City. However, I’ve loved working with TWRP. My editor is terrific. So is the support. And I even feel comfortable emailing the owner of the company if I need to ask a question. In fact, a few weeks ago, I asked her if we could change the price of my novella to 99 cents. She said yes!

So, I just wanted to thank The Wild Rose Press for their wonderful support over the years.

Inspiration makes me grumpy.

Jeez, I’ve been on quite the inspirational kick over the past few weeks. I have no idea why. Perhaps I need encouragement. Or frosting. Or a new sweater. Problem is, I never know what to do with a new piece of clothing. I buy a new sweater, bring it home, and have no idea what to wear with it…and lemme tell you, wearing just a sweater gets you some pretty weird looks. So, I pretty much live in black yoga pants and white T-shirts. That’s how I roll. If I have to attend a dressy affair, I catch a cold so I don’t have to leave the house.

Sage advice, no?

May your closet be full of comfortable clothes and your calendar be blissfully empty of dressy affairs.

Love,

Lynn
