The Journey
Still fighting the flu. Whew! Nasty stuff this. I'm shaky and the slightest walking around and I have to stop and sit. This is not conducive to my life style. DH is helping. Or nothing would get done. And I have a deadline I may not make for the first time in my writing career.
Anyone have a 'here's how to get over the flu in a minute'? Cause I need it now. Too much to do to have to stop and sit every 'little whip-stitch'. Oh, that's a Midwestern term. One of my grandmother's favorites.
Off to collapse in my recliner until I've recovered enough to go to the edits.

The Journey
Yesterday was a complete wipe out. I think I caught a touch of the flu bug going around for I was sick as a dog. Maybe sicker. We called my nurse and after a couple of new meds, things seemed to calm down for a bit. I'm not over it yet, but today is going better than yesterday, for sure.
And I thought yesterday morning I was going to have a great day. Ugh! It turned out to be pathetic. At the moment I'm not doing too badly, but I'm crossing my fingers the worst has gone. In fact, I'm crossing my fingers, my toes, my legs, my arms. Maybe even give some thought to crossing my eyes.
I have too much to do instead of hanging onto the porcelain fixture in the bathroom.
Tomorrow will be better.

The Journey
Wet, humid weather and I don't agree. Makes for difficult breathing. I'll be at my computer, working slowly all day with frequent rests. I also took my nap yesterday. It definitely helped, so naps from now on.
I have the edits to complete, my DH is finally getting his glasses, so things are looking up, or slowly down, which ever way you want to look at it. He (DH) is helping in the kitchen Hooray! that helps to.
But, I am not improving. I can tell that. I'm wondering how much of those items on my lists I will get done. I'm not too worried. You reach a point. And won't I feel silly if I'm saying the same thing a year or two from now. (grinning) I don't have and I don't want a crystal ball to tell the future. Enough said. I have edits to do.

The Journey
Much better today. Thank goodness. As I said, yesterday was an off day, really off. but I did feel better as the day progressed. I have to expect this. Not looking forward to it, but (grinning) I don't know too many people who like to be sick. (Or there are one or two - but we have a name for them).
Got the first round of edits, so I'll be busy for a few days. These blogs will be really short until I get the edits finished.
I really like the way this editor has things lines up, so this should work well. I've had so many editors over the years, it's amazing. I think just about a new editor for nearly every book. That has to be a record. One of these days I sit down and figure out how many editors I've really had. Too busy for that now.
Off to make breakfast. I'm hungry today.

The Journey
Today is not a good day. Not feeling up to par at all. Sick to my stomach, a few pains, So, today is a day to rest. Edits are here, so I'll work on those and rest every little bit. I've been so lucky so far, I'm not complaining. This is to be expected. A few good days, a couple of off days and then a bad day.
Today is the later.

The Journey
This is not a complaint, but a simple statement of fact. Do a little and then rest. Take deep breathes and wait. Over the last couple of days, this has been the only way I can get anything done. I see a definite decrease in my stamina. And of course, with the beginning of spring, wouldn't you know the aching joints are also making themselves known. (Now that's a complaint!)
Aching joints seem to go with rain and lower pressure systems. Last night we had a terrific thunder storm, lots of lightening and noise. Enough to wake me up. I wondered yesterday why my joints bothered me. Now I know why.
You know the old people who are better at predicting the weather than the weather man? I now understand how they do it and I will pay more attention to my aching joints in the future.
We also went to bed late last night and no, I didn't get in my nap yesterday either. So, my 'do-rest- wait' mantra is really my fault. Today I will take a nap. I will, I will, I will. (We'll see - something always comes up -grinning)

The Journey
Geek son is on his way home. We still have the Trojans and the virus on one machine. He told me what to do. He has to be kidding? I think I can do it, but I'll wait until he gets home and then before I try, I'll call him up and have him walk me through it. Only one problem. Although I'm a teacher, not one of my kids is any good at give instructions.
I'm trying hard to ignore the band which is still there, dang it. and the meds do help, so I'll take the meds and pretend it isn't there. Hope that works. I'm still waiting for the edits, but then the editor has to read the story first before she can make the first suggestion. But, I'm still waiting with baited breath. Always important to see what your editor thinks of the story. So I wait. DH says it's great and he has been a great credit. I remember well when he had a fit over the way I wanted to end the first 'song' book. He was shouting I'd ruined the hero, so I've learned to trust his opinion.
It's also wonderful that my DH is interested in what I write, willing to read ever word and offer comments. In fact, he finished the 2nd chapter of the wip, and had another fit. I wanted to do something and he pointed out, rather loudly, that if I did it that way, I'd mess up the heroine big time.
Gee, I hate it when he is so right!

Got my nap in yesterday, but I still am a little slow today. It has to be the band which I said was back. I still have it slightly, and at times it increases in pressure, then decreases. This is fascinating. I know a little bit about anatomy and from what I know this doesn't make a lot of sense. Oh, well, I just am going to let the authorities figure this one out. (grinning) No more self diagnosis.
Waiting for the first of the edits and ready to get together with my web mistress. It pays to have someone you trust, in this case my family, working on my web site. I'm blessed with geeky children and grandchildren. My lap top is a mess. I picked up something from an e-mail and the strangest things are showing up. I've been invited now to two porn sites, something I'm not the least bit interested in. That, along with a zillion ads, are interfering with my internet explorer. Changing passwords, running a virus program, doing all the things they say you should do. If I manage to accomplish it all, I'll post tomorrow. If I don't - oh, boy, I've run into trouble, because computer geek son goes home tomorrow, so keep your fingers crossed for me.

The Journey
The 'we don't know what causes it' band is back. I give up and I'll take the meds recommended. At least they usually lessen the tightness.
In the meantime, I have a lot of writing to do. Edits will be coming and I need to make certain I have the energy to do a good job. My nap taking yesterday wasn't good. I just couldn't get to sleep. I rested. I'll have to ask if that counts. (grinning) I have a feeling the nurse is going to say, "well, not really."
Oldest son is here, fixing what needs to be fixed. He'll look at the refrig which probably only needs a good cleaning. Another thing to put on my list of things to complete. Clean the refrig. Now there is a job nobody likes to do, that and clean the porcelain commode in the bathroom. Have you ever heard anyone say they liked to clean the bathroom? I know I haven't.
On that happy note, I have to get started on the next book. DH is waiting for chapter three which is not finished.

The Journey
Don't you hate it when you don't want to do something you've been told to do because you just know it's not going to help you, but you do do it, and it helps? Guess I just don't like to be wrong. I just knew taking naps was not going to help a bit, after all, think of all the time you waste sleeping.
However, my nurse said, yes, an afternoon nap would help and I needed to take one. I succumbed and took a nap yesterday.
Guess what? I wasn't nearly as tired as I have been the last several nights. In fact I felt really good compared to some of the other nights in the last couple of weeks. So I guess, an afternoon nap is now a must.
Gee, I hate it when I am so wrong...
Lovesong is scheduled for release in May, so I will need a lot of energy to finish the edits and do the promo's for it. That nap will now be essential. Oh, well. Back to childhood days, and I'll just have to remind myself, before I took afternoon naps, I couldn't do anything at night. Now I can.
