What's the goopiest thing that you let someone call you and you still like them?
Here's another cool brain-wibbler. So if you want your brain wibbled, dig right in.

Hey, I'm a minority, too! I'm a straight white guy who doesn't think straight white guys have it bad.
Another cross-eyed day of editing ahead. I'm really, REALLY tired of looking at my own writing. Seriously. I'd rather read Danielle Steele at this point.

I had another unfamiliar-city dream last night. I was at a SF convention, and accidentally stole someone's car while avoiding being robbed, then couldn't find their hotel room again in a maze of similar...

Had a dream about wandering around New York in search of a public restroom and running into my dad, who was apparently waiting for me and grumpy because he wanted to eat catfish instead.
Just read THE MONSTER OF FLORENCE by Preston and Spezi. Fascinating true-crime case that has also made me completely change my ideas about the Amanda Knox verdict.

Work day. Maybe a little dog-walking. Luckily, my children would rather spend eternity in a windowless pit than go outside for ten minutes. (Okay, that's not as true of Girl as it is of Boy.) Every now and then I show them pictures of the world to remind them it still exists.

Just walked into my local bookstore (Kepler's) and found Christopher Moore doing a talk and signing. Neat to see him – it's been a while.

Can I turn SHADOWHEART into a musical? Please? I think I could work up at least a couple of nifty numbers before I run out of time and have to turn it in...

When asked by her brother what pet she would most like to have, Girl said, "A baby squirrel with super powers that won't ever get older."

Yes, I'm a supervillain. I wear jumpsuits, threaten prisoners, and live in a volcano. But in my secret heart I'm running a bed and breakfast.
Leaving the last chapter unwritten as a sort of lucky charm, I'm deep into rewrite of SHADOWHEART. (I'll finish it when I get there this time through, just to feel the rhythm better.)

If dogs could fly, there would be far fewer places for wild pork chops to raise their young.
Today's think: I should remember to stop more often and just listen to what's around me.
Once again I have managed to trick my entire family, human and otherwise, into falling asleep at roughly the same time, leaving me as sole occupant of the conscious wing of the house. It is when I hatch my most fiendish plots.

Have you seen Janelle Monae's "Tightrope" video yet? Oh Em Gee. Echoes of James Brown, Nicholas Brothers, Fritz Lang, all kinds of crazy wonderful. If this woman isn't a major, major star soon, the fix is in.

When I forget to turn our pet turtle's light off until really late, I try to make it better by telling it to him like it's a story. I say, "It's the Night the Sun Stayed Up Too Late!" I think that makes it easier for him to understand.

I am sitting at my desk. It's not quite work yet, but it's closer than I've been in 48 hours. Let's rock!

I'm very lucky to have a family I so much like spending time with, because I felt like a big bunch of death tonight at Easter dinner, but they still made it fun.
Cold, day three. Still not bending to my indomitable will. I shall pretend to be sad and miserable and fool it by laying in bed, then, when the time is right, I'll...I'll...oh crap, I forget. But it's foolproof.
