Description:

On the verge of promotion, Nik is dispatched to the underground city beneath the icy Seattle tundra, his final mission handed down directly from The Council. It should have been a simple in-and-out, but the underground is full of dark secrets and he soon finds himself swept into battles, lying to his best friend back east, and growing a bit too close to the rebels he was sent to spy on.
Nik realizes too late that he’s broken the number one rule within his ranks; he’s allowed himself to feel normal for the first time in his life. He might be able to turn the job around, become the soldier he was once was, except for his growing attachment to the rebel leader. A guy. Yet another first for Nik. It’s a mistake he pays for dearly when he learns The Council’s true intentions for the city.
It’s never ‘just harmless fun’ when you’re a government dog, not when The Council holds the leash. Nik knows there are some lines you can never come back from crossing, and he’s forced to choose whose rules to play by. He races toward the invisible divide, aware he’ll be called traitor by both his nation and by his friends. Aware that even the right choice can be deadly to make.

Amanda Cyr is a tea-loving freelance journalist, viral content curator, and debut novelist. She studied creative writing at Seattle University, where she developed all sorts of opinions before becoming a member of the Pacific Northwest Writers Association. She is currently represented by Kimberley Cameron of the Kimberley Cameron & Associates Literary Agency.
Growing up, Amanda moved around a lot. She began writing to make the transitions easier and make up for her lack of friends in middle school. An awesome professor in Medford, Oregon tried to convince her to pursue writing professionally, but Amanda was deadest on a law career. It wasn’t until an unpleasant professor in Seattle, Washington told her she was a terrible writer that Amanda really committed to the idea of getting published, mostly just to spite her professor.
When Amanda’s not hunched over a laptop she enjoys sleeping, video games, Netflix binges, and wrestling with her two polar bear dogs. She currently lives in Los Angeles, where she spends her days hissing at the sun and missing Seattle. Her least favorite things include the mispronunciation of her name, screaming children, and California.Find Amanda Cyr Online:

Cover Reveal: Hands Off! The 100 Day Agreement by Candy J. Starr

Publication date: December 2014
Synopsis:
One hundred days without sex? Is that even possible?
When I got offered an exchange year to the Italian art school of my dreams, I nearly cried. I could barely afford college expenses at home let alone in a foreign country. I had to decline but my rich, uptight grandmother called with her screwed up offer.
If I agreed to her conditions, she’d foot the bill. So I agreed. I figured she didn’t really care about my sex life, she just wanted me to keep my partying off the radar of her fancy friends.
I was so wrong.
The sexy but annoying Chad moved into my apartment to keep me under surveillance. He’s impervious to my charms and for some damn reason, dead set on making sure I lose this deal.
One hundred days is a helluva long time to avoid temptation – even longer when Chad becomes the temptation.

Catch Me When I Fall by Vicki Leigh Blog Tour and Hop
post about their own worst nightmare
Publisher: Curiosity Quills Press
Date of Release: October 23, 2014
Cover Artist: Conzpiracy Digital Arts
About Catch Me When I Fall:
Recruited at his death to be a Protector of the Night, seventeen-year-old Daniel Graham has spent two-hundred years fighting Nightmares and guarding humans from the clawed, red-eyed creatures that feed off people’s fears. Each night, he risks his eternal life, having given up his chance at an afterlife when he chose to become a Protector. That doesn’t stop a burnt-out Daniel from risking daring maneuvers during each battle. He’s become one of the best, but he wants nothing more than to stop.
Then he’s given an assignment to watch over sixteen-year-old Kayla Bartlett, a clinically depressed patient in a psychiatric ward. Nightmares love a human with a tortured past. Yet, when they take a deep interest in her, appearing in unprecedented numbers, the job becomes more dangerous than any Daniel’s ever experienced. He fights ruthlessly to keep the Nightmares from overwhelming his team and Kayla. Soon, Daniel finds himself watching over Kayla during the day, drawn to why she’s different, and what it is about her that attracts the Nightmares. And him.
A vicious attack on Kayla forces Daniel to break the first Law and reveal his identity. Driven by his growing feelings for her, he whisks her away to Rome where others like him can keep her safe. Under their roof, the Protectors discover what Kayla is and why someone who can manipulate Nightmares has her in his sights. But before they can make a move, the Protectors are betrayed and Kayla is kidnapped. Daniel will stop at nothing to save her. Even if it means giving up his immortality.

My worst nightmare? It's simple: Someone kidnapping and hurting my kid. I'd kill if someone did that, no joke. That's the only thing I'd ever hurt anyone over, protecting my child.
The form it would take? It's probably best I don't disclose that because it might offend someone, since it's a real person that I don't trust.

Vicki Leigh's CATCH ME WHEN I FALL Book Playlist
It’s no secret that I prefer to write in silence. Writing, to me, is often like acting, and I can’t get in the heads of my main characters when there’s music in the background. I need to be able to visualize each scene, hear the dialogue between my characters, and stay in the voice of my character.
But there is something to be said for music and emotion. The right song can transport me to a “place of serenity”—like Daniel says about Kayla’s talent with the violin—bring tears to my eyes, fill me with energy, or even make me smile. So, as a person who’s played music since I was six-years-old, part of my revision is always creating a book playlist. That way, knowing my story, I can listen to a particular song before editing a scene and ensuring the right emotions fill the page.
Today, I’d like to share with you my book playlist for CATCH ME WHEN I FALL. For the sake of avoiding spoilers, I’m only going to share details about a few songs, as to not give anything away. But I’m positive that once you read the book, you’ll be able to figure out where each song goes. J
So, without further ado, here’s the Book Playlist for CATCH ME WHEN I FALL:
Theme Song: "Saved" - The Spill Canvas
Daniel's Theme: "Follow Me" - Muse
Kayla's Theme: "Storm" - Lifehouse
"I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" - Aerosmith
"I Will Not Bow" - Breaking Benjamin
"1, 2, 3, 4" - Plain White T's
"Fallin' For You" - Colbie Caillat
"Shatter Me" - Lindsey Stirling ft. Lzzy Hale
"Distant Lives" (From Becoming Jane) - Adrian Johnston
Adopted at three-days-old by a construction worker and a stay-at-home mom, Vicki Leigh grew up in a small suburb of Akron, Ohio where she learned to read by the age of four and considered being sent to her room for punishment as an opportunity to dive into another book. By the sixth grade, Vicki penned her first, full-length screenplay. If she couldn’t be a writer, Vicki would be a Hunter (think Dean and Sam Winchester) or a Jedi. Her favorite place on earth is Hogwarts (she refuses to believe it doesn’t exist), and her favorite dreams include solving cases alongside Sherlock Holmes.Vicki is an editor for Curiosity Quills Press and is represented by Sarah Negovetich of Corvisiero Literary Agency.

ABOUT ANNA HUB:

When I studied nursing I thought I'd found a place for myself, but within six months of working in that field I knew I needed more. So in July 2007 I bought myself a lap top and started writing in my spare time. It took me two years to complete my first book and by the time it was finished I felt as though I'd learnt enough to pursue the dream.
My love for writing has grown rapidly since then and now I know that it's something I can't live without. It's a place where there is no limit, no exact destination and my mind is free to exist in many worlds.
It's a beautiful sanctuary.

Excerpt:
"Savannah, wait," Jared calls, grabbing my arm when I fling the front door open and step out. He pulls the door closed behind us before releasing me.I immediately start walking again. My heart races and my left eye does that twitching thing it does when I'm about to cry. I just want to be away from him, away from me, away from wanting things I have no right to want from him.He doesn't take the hint though and jogs down the steps after me."Jared, please," I whisper when he catches up to me. The wind is blowing hard, another storm moving in. I wish it would just blow me away. I could live in Oz with Dorothy and Toto. Adventures. Munchkins. Yeah, I could do that. "Let me go. Please, just let me go."I'm not sure if I'm pleading with Jared or if I'm begging God to sweep me away with the wind, but neither listens to me."Savannah, stop," Jared says, grabbing my arm again.I jerk to a stop, flinching away from him and the shock of his skin on mine. He takes my reaction for fear and immediately lets me go. Regret and guilt dance through his expression, wrecking me.Tears start trickling down my cheeks.I'm so tired.I'm tired of barely sleeping.I'm tired of avoiding him.I'm tired of feeling guilty.I'm just tired."Savannah," he breathes, his eyes widening when he notices my tears. He lifts his hand and it hovers in the air between us as if he can't decide if he should touch me again or not.I sniffle. He reaches out and grabs me instantly, pulling me in to him. And I go. Willingly. My head nestles into the hard warmth of his chest. He wraps his arms around me, his head settling atop mine. For a minute, everything is perfect. All the guilt and doubts and self-loathing vanish, and it's just me and him. We both sigh in relief, in regret… and then I start crying in earnest."Shh, beautiful girl," he croons, running his hands up and down my back. His touch is gentle, soothing, complete perfection. And so wrong.Everything is just so wrong with this."Let me go," I cry and try to push away from him.He shushes me again, refusing to let me pull away.It doesn't scare me, but I fight harder.I can't do this with him. I can't."You're okay," he soothes and I realize that I'm saying it out loud. Crying over and over again that I can't do this.A sob catches in my throat and I slump against him, defeated."You're okay," he says again, rocking us back and forth. For just a minute, I let myself believe him. I sink into his embrace. His warmth surrounds me. His heart hammers against mine. He smells so good, and I feel so safe, so secure."Why does this feel so right?"I'm not sure if I'm even meant to hear his question, but I do. And I have no answer. For just a minute, I don't want one. I just want… him.Oh God, what am I doing?

Review Tour: The Gathering Darkness by Lisa Collicutt

Cover Art by Eugene Teplitsky

About The Gathering Darkness:
They say “third time’s the charm,” and for sixteen-year-old Brooke Day, they had better be right. She’s been here before, twice in fact, and so has the darkness awaiting her return.
When Brooke is forced to leave Boston for the village of Deadwich, she thinks her life is over. New friends become estranged—downright evil. But worse, recurring nightmares become reality.
Enter Marcus Knight; he’s popular, hot, and the only person Brooke can trust.
Not to mention, they’ve shared the same nightmares.
With the discovery of an ancient Celtic amulet, Brooke and Marcus unravel the secrets ofher past, revealing the path to her future.
As the equinox approaches, darkness and light merge for the first time in a century. Soul-mates reunite. Magic awakens.
My review:This was a great Halloween read. With witches and past lives all twisting and turning, it kept me thinking.
This is definitely a plot that kept me wondering, trying to work out who was who and what exactly was going on. I even thought about it while at the gym, trying to figure out how it would end.
I'm not one to read creepy things, so although this had moments, I didn't get overwhelmed. It was nicely balanced and didn't feel dark.
The only down side; I didn't connect with the main characters, which is pretty sad considering it's their love story.
But I did enjoy it, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants something for Halloween that's not going to give you nightmares, but leaves you happy with the end result.

Enter Lisa’s imagination where realism ends and fantasy begins. But heed these warnings … it’s dark, it’s magical, you may experience tingles.

When a fourteen-year-old girl is given two mysterious gifts from a father she never knew, she is drawn into their dangerous world of magic.
She must learn to wield the power of the Eleventh Elementum to survive. With the help of Will (her best friend), his cousin and her new stepsister, she seeks out the evil that threatens New Zealand. But a black-eyed stranger is watching their every move. Now, two powerful beings will battle one another and the outcome will determine our way of life.

J.L. Bond and Val Richards met in college in Clarksville Tennessee, where Val excelled in Math and J.L excelled in creative ways to talk Val out of going to class. A few years later…okay, more than a few, they found themselves living about an hour away from one another in Florida and joined forces to write the Primortus Chronicles, YA fantasy- adventure series. Nowadays, J.L. likes to remind Val that Math isn’t necessary for writing.
