Cover Reveal: Revive by Tracey Martin

Revive by Tracey Martin (Redzone #1) Published by: Samhain PublishingPublication date: May 19th 2015
Synopsis:
Alone in a train station bathroom, Sophia Hernandez has no memory of who she is or how she got there. All she’s certain of are three things: her college ID is a lie, bad people are coming for her, and no one can be trusted.
The only clue to her past is the fellow student who finds her. Although Sophia’s gut tells her Kyle is lying when he claims he can’t help her, his touch makes her heart race. Is it because of a red-hot natural attraction, or a missing memory of something far more dangerous?
As two mysterious, menacing men chase them from the station, Sophia’s memories return in frustrating fragments. So do deadly skills she didn’t know she had. In the next forty-eight hours, a loved one’s life will be on the line as she sifts through a mounting tangle of secrets and lies.
Including the most heart-wrenching secret of all. Not only isn’t she a normal college student, she isn’t even a normal human.
Warning: Contains one girl who is more than she seems, one boy who knows more than he’s telling, and enough twists to give you whiplash. Expect explosions of all kinds.

AUTHOR BIO: Tracey Martin grew up outside of Philadelphia, the lucky recipient of a drama-free childhood, which is why she spent so much time reading about other people's lives. It was while she was working on her doctorate in psychology that she had an epiphany--imaginary people are way more fun than real ones. And so she began writing. Never able to choose just one of anything, she currently writes both urban fantasy for adults and contemporary stories for teens.

She likes her coffee simple, her music epic, and her movies to contain explosions. A city girl at heart, she doesn't understand how she and her husband ended up living in New Hampshire, but writing keeps her off the mean, small town streets. You can find her online at tracey-martin.com.

Dancing in the Athenian Rain: Contract Signed and Sent!

That's right! My oldest manuscript, Dancing in the Athenian Rain, which I originally wrote in the 12th grade, is now signed with Soul Mate Publishing, the same publisher as Branded.  Since both the main characters are Aussie, they'll go well together!
It's been a long journey to get Athenian Rain up for publication. After many rewrites, as the original was quite cheesy, and much struggling, I'm so excited to see this baby lined up for print. Donna and Peleus hold a special place in my heart, and I'm so excited to share them with the world. They're a special pair, both unique for their times, both coming together to overcome their pasts.
More details to come, and I'll definitely keep you posted on this one!

Cheers!

Oh, and P.S!!!
So, in the works now we have the Fairytale Galaxy Chronicles Book 1, The Princess of Tyrone, signed and in the pipeline with Curiosity Quills. Don't have any more details yet.

The first of the novellas to follow Papina, Loving Avery, will be released early 2015. The cover reveal will come shortly.
And Cadence... still waiting on that.

AUTHOR BIO: S.M. McEachern was born in Nova Scotia, Canada. She attended Dalhousie University in the 1990s where she earned an Honours Degree in International Development Studies. She worked in the field of International Development for several years, specializing in ocean development.

"Sunset Rising" is S.M. McEachern's first novel. She says the idea for the story first came to her in the 1990s when she researched a Bio-Dome experiment in Arizona for an academic paper. The thought that the world might one day need a Bio-Dome to escape a global catastrophe set her imagination into overdrive. And the ethics behind such an idea formed the backdrop for Sunset Rising.

Cover Reveal: Watch Me Burn by Sharon Bayliss

I am thrilled to take part in the cover and trailer reveal for Book 2 in The December People Series, Watch Me Burn! As the acquiring editor of this series, I can tell you how incredible this series is, so get book 1, Destruction, and read so you can read this when it releases.

So without further ado...

A note from the author:
Thank you to artist Michelle Johnson and the whole team at Curiosity Quills Press for creating a cover I love!
If you haven't guessed it by now, you'll see a butterfly on the cover of every book in The December People Series. The butterfly is a symbol of transformation, hope, freedom, and generally creepy crawlies turning into beautiful things. And also...look how pretty! ;)
Instead of the broken glass from Destruction, this butterfly is surrounded by fire, and it's probably obvious why from the title. Watch Me Burn is the summer book in the series. All the books center around my winter wizard family, but each book takes us deeper into a different season. Summer wizards are the "light" wizards, but light also means HEAT and FIRE.

More about Watch Me Burn:

David Vandergraff lost his home, his job, and contact with his oldest son, but remains determined to be a good husband and father despite being a dark winter wizard.

His resolve is tested when a flyer for a missing girl--who happens to be a summer witch--begins to haunt him. Cover Reveal: Fifteen by Jen Estes

Curiosity Quills is thrilled to reveal the cover for Jen Estes' young-adult, science-fiction, urban-fantasy Fifteen, scheduled for release January 15, 2015. The gorgeous cover was designed by Conzpiracy Digital Arts. A review tour for Fifteen is scheduled for0 January 12 - 23, 2015. If you're interested in taking part in the review tour, please sign up here.
Fifteen, by Jen Estes - Cover About Fifteen:Legend has it if you die in your dreams, you die in real life. Fifteen-year-old Ashling Campbell knows that’s not true because when she closes her eyes each night, she doesn’t dream about public nudity or Prom dates. Instead, she’s catapulted to the front row of her future self’s execution - fifteen years from now - where monsters have taken control of her hometown and she, or rather, her 30-year-old counterpart, is their public enemy number one. For three months and counting, it’s been the same dream… until an encounter with an antique dreamcatcher. Ash falls asleep to discover she’s no longer a mere spectator in these dreams - now she’s astral-projecting into the body of her future self. Each night, she goes on the run with a ragtag group of rebels - who have no idea she’s really a high school sophomore and not their noble warrior. She has to make it through each night so that she can wake up and find a way to change the future. For every action she does in the present day, she falls asleep to discover it had an equal impact fifteen years later. It’s up to her to manage her two worlds and make sure she’s still got a place in both.

Born and raised in the Midwest, Jen had to choose between staring at corn or reading books. Corn husks just didn’t have the appeal of the Baby-Sitters Club, and so a bookworm was born. Reading later turned into writing and in 2011, Jen published her first novel. After releasing four books in the mystery genre, Jen finally gave in to the literary demands of her inner teenager with her YA debut, FIFTEEN (The Dreamwalker Diaries) with Curiosity Quills. Jen lives in Illinois with her husband Nathan under the tyranny of their three cats: Wrigley, Ivy and Captain Moo. She is an active member of the National Writers Union. When she isn’t writing, Jen enjoys sci-fi in all its mediums, attempting yoga, using her passport, watching baseball, and reading a good book.

The Duality Principle by Rebecca Grace Allen Blog Tour

Creating a great character is probably the most difficult part of the process when it comes to writing. While type of story I’m working on might be one that’s been done before, it’s the characters that really need to be unique because they’re what makes the book memorable. They live on in our hearts long after we’ve forgotten every detail of the plot. Bringing a character to life and making him or her leap off the page is definitely one of my biggest challenges.
Characters find their way into my head through a myriad of ways, but their starting point is usually based off someone I know in real life. It could be the guy that made my coffee that morning and had a really awesome smile, or the incredibly obnoxious young woman I rear ended when she stopped short on the road in front of me. (That’s one of the really fun parts of being a writer – getting to eviscerate annoying people in fiction. *twirls imaginary evil mustache*)
Once I’ve got that spark, the next step is really getting to know him or her. What is that character’s deepest fears? What it is they truly want? What’s happened in their past to make them the way they are? What is the mask they’re hiding behind, and why are they hiding behind it? In a romance it’s essential to know what’s behind that “mask” – the front they put up for everyone else -- because it’s the love interest who is able to see past that mask and love the person behind it, warts and all. In The Duality Principle, Connor’s deepest fear is that he will be like his father, and that he isn’t worthy of love. He also isn’t proud of his bad boy past (a past that involved a lot of raunchy sex in public places) and thinks he needs to be someone totally different in order to win Gabby’s heart. Gabriella’s biggest concern is that there is something freakishly wrong with her because of her kinkier interests, and that she can’t be both a serious, career-driven mathematician and still long for hot sex with the embodiment of her rough-and-tumble fantasies.

Without knowing their core issues, I wouldn’t have been able to write a story that brought Gabriella and Connor together in a way that was realistic, sexy and satisfying. It’s a difficult process, but it’s so worth it in the end, because then you get to hear that someone loves one of your characters. That everything you’ve poured into writing that hero or heroine has lifted off the page and into their hearts. That is the best part of all.

Published by: Samhain Publishing
Publication date: November 11th 2014
Synopsis:Sometimes A + B = O. Yes. Oh, yes. Just like that.
Gabriella Evans’s life exists in terms of logic and definitions. She’s holed up in Portland, Maine, for the summer to work on her PhD thesis, but something is screwing up her concentration: the rumble of a motorcycle every time the embodiment of her rough-and-tumble fantasies rides down her street.

When her best friend talks her into a blind date, she finds herself out with the opposite of her fantasy. He’s polite and well-mannered, yet something behind his crisply tailored shirt doesn’t add up—a rebellious gleam in his eye that piques her curiosity.

Orphaned at fifteen, Connor Starks has finally put the years of failing grades, breaking laws and breaking hearts behind him. The only holdover? His penchant for getting down and dirty in public places. But Gabriella makes him want to prove he’s become a better man.

Nothing intrigues Gabriella more than a problem she can’t solve. But the more Connor tries to bury his past, the more determined she is to uncover it. And what she finds makes all her trusty logic begin to fail her…

Warning: This book contains a summer romance, dirty talk, dockside kissing, motorcycles and tattoos. Features a rebellious nerdy girl with an appetite for outdoor sex and light spanking, and a bad boy who’s turned good…or at least he’s trying.

Fall Into Fantasy Week #14

Welcome to the Fall Into Fantasy Tour, where we are keeping your mind off any end-of-summer blues and welcoming the cooler weather by introducing you to some incredible fantasy reads to curl up with and giving you plenty of chances to win awesome prizes!

Week 14: The Bound Trilogy
Book One: Bound
By Kate Sparkes

Welcome to Darmid, where magic is a sin, fairy tales are contraband, and the people live in fear of the Sorcerers on the other side of the mountains.

Rowan Greenwood has everything she's supposed to want from life—a good family, a bright future, and a proposal from a handsome and wealthy magic hunter. She knows she should be content with what she has. If only she could banish the idea that there's more to life than marriage and children, or let go of the fascination with magic she's been forced to suppress since childhood.

When Rowan unknowingly saves the life of one of her people’s most feared enemies, that simple act of compassion rips her from her sheltered life and throws her into a world of magic that’s more beautiful, more seductive, and more dangerous than she ever could have imagined.

Rowan might get everything she ever dreamed of—that is, if the one thing she's always wanted doesn't kill her first.

ABOUT KATE SPARKES Kate Sparkes was born in Hamilton, Ontario, but now resides in Newfoundland, where she tries not to talk too much about the dragons she sees in the fog. She lives with a Mountie, two kids who take turns playing Jeckyll and Hyde, three cats with more personality than most people she meets, and the saddest-looking dog on the planet. Depression has almost consumed her more times than she likes to admit, but writing Fantasy (be it epic or urban, fairy tales or superhero cat stories) keeps her afloat… most of the time. She released her debut novel Bound (Ya Fantasy) in June 2014. The second book in the trilogy is due out in the winter.
