Light, Bright & Sparkling by Elizabeth Famous

EF_LightBrightandSparkling [image error] Annabelle Montclare, a spritely singer/actress, is navigating the Hollywood scene with aplomb, never taking herself too seriously, when she collapses on stage. Warren Fitzgerald, a world-renowned gynecological surgeon, saves her life, and in return Annabelle goads him with her good-natured impertinence, flirting shamelessly while recovering.Dr. Fitzgerald isn't interested in a meaningless fling with a pop star--not to mention it's unethical to date a patient. But when the two cross paths ten months later at a Beverly Hills charity gala, they're unable to take their eyes off each other as they exchange verbal jabs about his bigheadedness and her provocativeness.Warren, who's cheated on girlfriends in the past, is ready to hit the brakes and fulfill his lifelong desire to become a dad. Annabelle, who's ten years his junior, is focused on carving out a creative path all her own. What happens when a sparkling presence, a girl born to entertain, becomes entangled with a grounded, strong-willed man who might rein in her exuberance or drive her head over heels? [image error] Amazon US I Amazon UK I B&N I iBooks I Kobo I Loose Id Excerpt On her way out, Annabelle stopped in the front lobby to sign the program for a young lesbian couple in matching blazers and spotted Dr. Fitzgerald heading to the door. She called to him, “Good night.” When she stepped outside, he was looking her way as he waited in line by the valet stand. He buttoned his earth-brown coat with his left hand and waved her over with his right. She meandered toward him, in no rush. “Hey, listen,” he said, “there’s a diner by the old port that opens early. At sunrise, the whole area including the boardwalk is preternaturally calm.” It was only half past one. Pitch-black outside. “You want to go to breakfast?” she blurted out with a twang. “I’m off today. Are you busy…later this morning?” “Well, well, well, how about this for an about-face.” He stood tall, waiting for an answer, both hands dug deep into his pants pockets. Spreading her arms, she ascended into a slow pirouette to prolong his wait, drawing attention from the crowd shuffling down the carpeted steps of the main entrance to the hotel. Landing her turn like a professional, she asked, “What time?” “Seven?” “Seven a.m.!” “Why not?” he asked. Did it occur to him that he’d seen her naked from the waist down…and been flashed by her bare breasts when he checked her breathing after surgery? Before exiting the hotel, she had stopped at the woman’s lounge and checked herself out in the mirrors. Sans tight dress or push-up bra, she looked pretty with a soft touch of makeup and a slight sheen from her excitement about running into him. He reached for her parking ticket, his fingertips brushing against her palm, then pivoted toward the valet dressed in tails and requested that her car be brought first. His decisiveness was potent in a way that was such a turn-on. The luxurious cashmere-like fabric of his suit jacket was inches from her touch, tempting her. Nobody who dressed as he did was alone on Saturday nights. His self-possession, his lack of hesitation, was similar yet different from his authority back at the hospital—and similar yet different from his hauteur when he dismissed her from his office. “Uh, I’m going to have to ask you for a third time about your girlfriend,” she said when he finished conversing with the valet. “I heard you were living with someone?” “Right. I don’t believe you know Lorraine, do you?” “That’s why I keep asking.” Neither her courage nor her smile failed her. She would say what she wanted to say. Rocking from one foot to the other, she was nothing if not light on her feet. “Perhaps it’s time you called Rochelle at the hospital…to catch up on things.” It was true she hadn’t texted Rochelle in a while. It was over ten months since she had been rushed to the hospital in pain and almost as long since Rochelle first filled her in on his relationship with the professor of women’s studies. “Anyway, I’m off on a serious errand,” he said. “I need to visit a former colleague who’s struggling with some personal issues.” “At one a.m.?” she exclaimed. “There’s a halfway house near the diner I mentioned. The middle of the night is when there are no AA meetings, and he’s having a bit of a crisis at the moment.” His voice was steady, no hitches. “So what do you say? Will you meet me afterward for breakfast?” Few guys could pull off looking confident without overdoing the I’m-cool-and-unconcerned act, but she could tell it wouldn’t be awkward if she said, “No, I’m too tired.” “I guess I can make it…on only five hours sleep,” she said. “I don’t have much planned for today, except the most boring meeting at noon to go over hair and makeup, so you better be entertaining.” Giveaway a Rafflecopter giveaway [image error] Elizabeth Famous grew up on a family farm in rural USA before dashing off to the big city and going Ivy League. AJ Adams & Storm Chase interview with Savannah Morgan

Savannah Morgan is a multigenre author who's latest publication is: Touch of the Irish: A Collection of Erotic Fantasy Short Stories Volume 1

AJ & Storm: What did you love most about this story?

I love the fantasy elements entangled with the Celtic Pantheon. The characters are rich, funny, human yet so much more.

AJ & Storm: What is it you love most about writing?

I love creating the worlds my characters live in, and the characters. They are as real to me as most people. Their challenges and triumphs are the same we have, even my PNR characters are like this. I also enjoy telling a compelling, suspenseful story with a lot of depth.

AJ & Storm: What do you hope to achieve in terms of your writing career?

I would eventually like to be able to write full time, to support my family with my books. However, that isn’t my main goal. I really just want to share my characters’ lives with readers. I love every one of my characters and I know if readers give them a chance they will fall in love with them as well. They may even relate to them a little.

AJ & Storm: Do you ever get writer’s block? How do you cope?

Yes, every writer does. My biggest help in overcoming writer’s block is going back and reading the stories I’ve already written. I have six individual books out and they fall into three separate series: Sapphire Springs; Deadly Flowers; and Touch of the Irish. So going back over previous books helps to bring the characters back to life and helps me write.

AJ & Storm: What’s the most challenging thing about writing?

Finding time to write has to be my biggest challenge at the moment. I recently started a day job and finding the balance between my two worlds has been a bigger challenge than I had expected. I am determined to find it and then I’ll be publishing books again on a regular schedule. In the meantime, I am writing when I can and will be having a few releases this year. I’m very hopeful that I’ll be able to get book 3 in the Sapphire Springs series out by mid or late July.

AJ & Storm: Tell us about your street team. Do you have one? What’s your top tip for starting one?

I do have a street team. It’s a small one, but the ladies are wonderful and extremely supportive of me and my writing. I consider them an extension of my family and love each one like a sister.

My tip for creating a street team is to make certain your members have read at least one of your books and wants to help you promote them because they love them. You would be very surprised how many people will join a street team who have never read the author they are joining to support.

AJ Adams & Storm Chase author interview with Andrea Smith!

Andrea Smith writes Suspense, YA and Dark Coming of Age novels like Black balled and the G-man series. We talked to her about her latest novel, Southern Comfort, and her writing.

AJ & Storm: What did you love most about this story?
Andrea: I liked that I stepped out of my "romance" comfort zone with this one. Southern Comfort is not a romance. It is a YA/NA Suspense story, loosely based on an actual event I'd heard about. So, I took the 'event' and of course, fictionalized a lot of it and fell in love with the characters. The thing I love best is the strength of the character in dealing with such adversity.

AJ & Storm: What is it you love most about writing?
I love creating new characters, molding them, designing their psyche and personality, and giving them a voice. If I've done my job, then the plot flows seamlessly because these characters, their actions and reactions are instinctual for me.

AJ & Storm: What made you choose your genre?
This particular genre is new for me. Typically, all my fiction is doused in romance. I wanted to write something different this time. No romance, but still, a good and compelling story of dark suspense and intrigue.

AJ & Storm: Tell us about your editor and proofreader. What's your top tip for finding someone good?
My top tip for editing/proofreading is to do it in phases. My first line of editing is my Beta readers. They are the ones that give me a heads up if there's a flawed plot or timeline. Or, if a scene just doesn't work for them. Then there's the formal edit, and what I've found is that it also helps to have one final proofreader post editing. My formatter who has been a godsend for that. He is my last line of defense in the editing process!

AJ & Storm: Give us a tip about finding reviewers!
This is probably one of the most frustrating parts of the process!  Getting reviews on your books is crucial because in social media, it is the WORD of MOUTH an author needs. So, I start with my street team. They receive ARC's of every one of my books, and post their reviews on Goodreads and Amazon. Secondly, I have some very loyal and supportive blogger friends, who also receive ARC's and post reviews, and participate in blitzes and tours. And then, I've met so many great readers and reviewers at book signings. I often provide them with a signed paperback in exchange for a review, and they have been so responsive.  I also do e-book giveaways once the book is published to get reviews as well.

Only for the Night by Ella Sheridan

Buying into Citrus Pointe’s bakery may be her best decision ever—if she can overcome the embarrassment of having her new landlord’s dog steal her towel right in front of him. It gets worse when she realizes he’s none other than rock bassist Hank Nash, and despite the problems it would cause, she wants nothing more than his talented hands on her, bending her to his will.Hank is an ex-cop who knows all too well what dominance looks like when it turns to abuse—he saw the consequences on another cop’s wife. After turning the man in, Hank left that life behind to start a rock band, Weekend Washout. Now he’s fighting to keep the band together, and to deny his urge to dominate pretty, spunky Sage. But when Sage’s ex-Dom reappears, Hank is forced into a life-changing decision: Accept both their needs and gain more than one night with Sage, or retreat to the safe life he’s built so carefully. BuyNow Amazon US I Amazon UK I ARe I B&N I iBooks I Kobo Excerpt “Who are you?” Her voice was low, as angry as her eyes despite the uncertainty that rasped through her words. She wasn’t backing down, that was for sure. Her bravado sent a tingle through his belly—and lower. That old urge, to hunt, to conquer, rose with other parts of his anatomy. Dangerous. Wrong. Hank fought it down, breathed through it, but before he found the control to answer, Knight decided he wanted to play some more. He jerked at the towel. The material slipped lower, forcing the woman to tighten her grip or lose the covering altogether. The adjustment pushed the rounded globe of her breast higher. How much farther before he could see her nipple? He shook his head. Why was he thinking about breasts when there was a strange woman in his home? He dug his fists into his pockets, hoping to obscure the unexpected effect she was having on him. “Since this is my apartment, I think my question comes first.” Confusion filtered across those lovely features. The woman stepped back, only to be brought up short by Knight’s unyielding grip. “You’re Hank?” Knight wanted to continue the game. He growled, giving the towel a hard shake like he’d nabbed a rabbit by the neck instead of a length of terry cloth. The move yanked the woman forward. She stumbled, panic sparking in her eyes. “Aren’t you going to call him off?” “Why?” he asked, barely managing to hold back his laughter. After a long, boring night driving and the news he’d just been hit with, he had to admit he was enjoying this little surprise. Knight was playing; Hank knew it even if the woman hadn’t figured it out yet, and he couldn’t resist playing with her a bit himself. “We have an intruder. He’s just doing his job.” She shook her head wildly. “I’m not an intruder. I live here.” She pulled on the towel. Knight dug in his paws, not giving an inch. “I—” Knight faked her out with a sudden lunge forward. The woman stumbled back, trying to avoid what looked like an attack. Knight took advantage and snatched the fabric out of her hands. Away from her body. Hank’s dick went tighter than his bass strings. He had no more than a half count to imprint the sight in his mind. It was all he needed. Full, round, high breasts with tender pink nipples drawn up tight. A smooth expanse of stomach begging to be explored, with just the right amount of inward curve at her waist to give him a place to grip. Hips wide enough to cradle him perfectly against the sparse patch of dark hair between her legs. Christ, she looked sweet, sweet enough to eat. And mortified. A bright red blush flared across her cheeks. The woman slapped a hand across her breasts, obscuring his view, and then, quick as the rabbit Knight had pretended to play with, she whirled away. He got an all too brief glimpse of her ass as she fled down the hall, the bounce of the perfect globes sending a second slam of blood to his already full erection. The crash of the guest bedroom door echoed around him as he hunched against the pain with a rough—very rough—laugh. Oblivious to the drama he’d caused, Knight settled onto his belly there in the middle of the hall, happily munching away on his prize. Hank opened his mouth to reprimand the dog, to laugh at the ridiculousness of it all, maybe to call the woman’s name—only to realize he still had no clue who the stranger in his house actually was. And he had to know, because da-yam, that body. That ass. Those eyes. Maybe he wasn’t as tired as he’d thought he was.      Then he was pushing apart my legs, settling between my thighs, leaning over me. He smelled of smoke, leather and musk. It was terrifying, like being at the mercy of an animal.

BlurbFalsely accused, Wynne is determined to clear her name.  However, a trip to petition the Steward at Brighthelme turns disastrous when the Beasts, fearsome warriors from the frozen north, raze the city. When Wynne is carried away, she's determined to regain her freedom but Rune, her captor, has other ideas.

Beast is set in Prydain, an imaginary place that combines Anglo-Saxon England with Medieval England, the Teutonic Kingdom and the Viking Age. This story contains kidnapping, rape, dubious consent and graphic violence, however, it is a love story rather than a dark romance.  It is a standalone novel; no cliff-hangers.

Queen of My Heart & OffBeat by Nikki Lynn Barrett

OFFBEATLove and Music In Texas Book 5

Name of cover designer: Robert Barrett Official genre of book: Contemporary romantic

Life is full of choices...

Right before she turned sixteen, Taryn McAllister made several rebellious choices, one which led her to become the drummer for a major teen sensation country star. After a deadly accident, she made another choice - to get back on the wagon and play drums again, no matter that it took adapting because she's confined to a wheelchair.

Now another set of choices is thrust upon her. After reconnecting with her estranged best friend, Taryn is offered a chance to play drums for a local Texas band ready for the Nashville move. Her once strong confidence is shaken, and she's torn between her love of music and the reality that it might not work out.

Chris Roland made a string of bad choices, and it's left him feeling numb. Now he's playing the drums temporarily for his sister's band, but he knows this isn't the life for him. Problem is, he doesn't know what direction to go. He knows what he doesn't want, but can't decide on what he does want.

And then he meets Taryn, the feisty drummer who could be his replacement. He's relieved for a chance to break away....that is until he gets to know her. And while he's getting to know her, she's helping to open up a part of his soul that was long dead and buried.

It's high time to make the right choices. It's just a matter of deciding what choice is right.

“Okay, I've got the book.” Chris wrangled himself away from the woman's arm. “Alice, have you met Taryn? She's playing drums for Baby Stetson. We managed to steal her away from Kyra Sanders.” His eyes met hers, and Taryn knew right off the bat this made him uncomfortable.

Ah. This must be one of his casual sex partners. Fan-friggin-tastic. Taryn gave Alice a long glance. She could see why Chris was attracted to her. Alice had long, dark hair, big breasts, and plenty to offer. So what the hell did he continue to see her for if he could get things from women like Alice?“Really? You play drums?” Alice didn't hide her shock.

“She's one of the best drummers I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.” Moving around Alice as she continued to gawk, Chris settled in the chair again, then slid the book over to Taryn. “Pick your poison.”

“Don't let Kyra hear you say that,” she giggled as she searched the book for Kyra's song listings. Then she realized Alice still lingered. “It's nice to meet you, Alice.” She stifled a laugh at the woman's look. She must not get rejected often. The feeling lasted for less than a minute before Taryn's insecurities crept in.

Not that she'd ever had a lot of success rates with men, but now she had a lot more stacked against her.

“Yeah, nice to meet you, too.” Alice faked it. She made it obvious. “You played drums for Kyra Sanders? Like seriously?”

“For three years.”

“Nice.” Alice brushed it off, then faced Chris. “Call me sometime. Soon. We need another good time.” She practically purred before sauntering off, swaying her ass as she moved.

“Taryn-” Chris started.

“Let me guess. She's one of your casuals,” she said at the same time, flipping the pages of the book back and forth in her hands.

“Was,” he corrected.

“Was?”

“Yes. Was. I don't want to be that person any longer.” He reached across and covered one of her hands. Taryn froze. The way she reacted to his touch scared her.

“What kind of person do you want to be?” Her voice cracked. Damn, she needed water.

“The person who gets and keeps your attention,” Chris said softly.

“But-” She darted a glance towards the way Alice went.

“Don't, Taryn. Don't look back at her and compare. I know you are. I didn't even remember her name until Melody said something about it being the girl who works at the inn. I know, it sounds bad as I say it.”

Yeah, yeah she was. Damn him for figuring it out.

QUEEN OF MY HEARTLife Won't Wait, Book #1

Name of cover designer: Robert Barrett Official genre of book: Contemporary romantic

When the next King of country music offers to take you under his wing, what's a girl to do?

Pinch herself, of course. Repeatedly. Then take the offer!

Quinn Winters is tired of being the actress known for most killed off characters. After discovering her love of music when her last role portrayed a country singer on a daytime soap opera, she's making a much needed change in life. Quinn is unprepared for the demands and expectations needed to succeed in Music City. One pleading call from her sister puts her in an all too familiar, but unwanted position.

Five years ago, Tucker McGinnis auditioned for a reality singing show, never expecting to win. His sudden fame and popularity comes as a major surprise. After a multi platinum debut, his second album is suffering the dreaded sophomore jinx. His musical muse becomes elusive when guilt plagues him over an accident which affects his family. He is blown away by Quinn when he overhears her audition at his record label, singing his most personal song.

An attraction builds, and a connection through music is formed. But when life gets in the way, Tucker makes another offer - A temporary marriage which will benefit both of them, until things become too real.

Two souls destined for the stage, two hearts blending together to create beautiful music as individuals, but even better as country music's next power couple- if they can shed the images of who they used to be.

“No. I can't let that happen. She's my niece. I want to take her. Tell me what I have to do to become her guardian,” Quinn pleaded. “Winnie said she'd sign over custody if need be, so what do I do?”

“Quinn, how can you do that? Aren't you in Nashville trying to get a record deal? That's not the life Piper needs. She needs stability.” The woman's tone was sympathetic. Her gaze landed on Tucker. Something flickered in her eyes. Probably recognition.

“I'll sell the property Grams left me. It'll give me the money to take care of Piper and hopefully get something going for Winnie when she gets clean.” Desperation laced her voice. Tucker could tell by the stricken tone that she didn't want to go that route.

He had no idea what made him do it, especially since Quinn never agreed, but Tucker spoke without thinking on it too much. “She has stability. She's kinda living with me already. She's also started a job with me for the past few months, and we've become close. I- I know it's a short time, but I've been thinking about asking her to marry me. Is that stable enough?”

When Quinn gasped, Tucker stepped closer and closed his fingers over her cold, clammy ones. Forgive me, darlin'. I couldn't help myself. Again he'd made a ballsy, unlike him move. “I'm sorry to ruin the surprise, but you know I'll do whatever I can for you, and especially Piper.” His voice wavered. No taking the words back now. “I don't want to you give up that property. We've talked about this, darlin'” Did he pull off the act?

What. The. Fuck. Possessed him to do that?

“I knew you looked familiar. Tucker McGinnis.” The woman's jaw dropped.

“Yes, ma'am. I heard Quinn's voice one day, and I couldn't stay away. We kept our relationship quiet for personal reasons, of course. Whatever we need to do in order to get Piper in Quinn's custody, please let us know. We'll make it all official right away if we have to. Quinn and Piper will be well cared for. The two of them won't have a thing to worry about.”

Dig a hole, why don'tcha?

The case worker attempted to keep her composure. Tucker noted the relief in her eyes. “I'll go get Piper so you can see her. We'll need to get official documentation and permission from your sister. If she'll sign over guardianship to you, we'll have this taken care of within a few days. If she refuses...” She started to walk away. “Oh, and Quinn? Congratulations. I'm so happy you're happy. Good for you.”

“You and me. Outside. Now,” Quinn muttered through clenched teeth. He followed her to the front porch. “What the hell were you thinking? Do you know how much worse you made this? Seriously, Tucker!”

Divergent Bloodline by TJ Shaw

DIVERGENT BLOODLINE

by

TJ Shaw
Official genre of book: Paranormal Romance
Editor: Lill Farrell
Cover Designer: DCA Graphics

While tracking down a killer, clues lead homicide detective, Viviane Taylor to suspect, Julian DeMatteo. From the get-go, DeMatteo unsettles and irritates her. He's a force she has never encountered, someone who excites her even though he’s forbidden. Her instincts warn that he’s hiding something and she is determined to uncover those secrets.

As king of the vampires, Julian DeMatteo protects the immortal clans. So, when the beautiful, bullheaded cop embroils herself within his world, he must choose between the woman who reminds him of the humanity he’s lost or his loyalty to his people. As confusing emotions awaken inside her, Viviane can either accept her fate as the one chosen to save the immortal race or lose her soul to darkness. With Julian’s help, she fights an evil that would rip her apart in order to forge a new future with the homicide suspect who’s stolen her heart.

She stared into liquid copper eyes that displayed concern and devotion for her. She would have welcomed Julian’s presence if she’d only been in a bad accident, but she just experienced something far worse than a car crash. His kind caused her great pain.

His kind? How could he not be human? He looked human, had human characteristics—a warm body, beating heart, breathtaking smile. Most of all, she reacted to his touch with such longing that he had to be human. He was her chocolate. His voice reverberated in her mind and whispered in her dreams. He saw her deepest secrets and still wanted her. Yet, he wasn’t human?

✯✯✯
“She’s a mortal female, nothing else.”

Finian opened his hands and spread his arms wide in an all-encompassing gesture. “I have lived a long, long time and have seen many things—impossible things. No simple mortal would have such an acute influence on you.”

Finian gripped his shoulder with bone-crushing strength. “The question is whether you can control your desire?”

He suppressed the urge to laugh. They were miles apart, yet her scent saturated his pores as if she’d marked him. With his beast hungering for its mate, Finian had no idea the enormous energy he exerted just to stay away from her.

Hell, he didn’t even understand why his demon chose her. But after six centuries of sleepwalking through life, this human female had just strong-armed her way into his office and jolted him awake as if she’d slammed her fist through his chest. Now that his eyes were open, he saw only her in brilliant, vivid color. So, how could he spend time with such a woman and not embrace her? A gentle shake drew his attention back to his advisor.

“Julian, you must not turn her. Can you do it? Can you control your urges until we figure out what she is?”

✯✯✯
All three men glanced up to find an irate female standing on the staircase landing. A few resilient rays from the evening sun streamed through the windows, setting Viviane’s hair on fire and her eyes ablaze. Julian sucked in a ragged breath at the sight of her. Easing up the steps, his heart adjusted to her accelerated, erratic pace. Using their tenuous bond for the first time, he harnessed her rapid beats and slowed them to match his steady rhythm. Her anger and fear hummed along their bond with powerful intensity. Only her threatening glare kept him from hauling her to his chest.

“I won’t become Beaudeax,” she repeated, her voice vibrating with conviction. “You must promise me, Julian.” She closed the gap between them and cradled his face with her hands. Tears rimmed her eyes, but didn’t fall. “Promise me that our child will not become part of Eddie’s clan.”

TJ writes from her heart by incorporating her dreams and experiences to create strong, passionate characters who must overcome personal flaws to survive against the challenges of traversing through magical realms, undiscovered planets, and apocalyptic catastrophes.

Only for the NIght by Ella Sheridan

Only-for-the-night-CustomDesign-JayAheer2016-ebook Synopsis She needs a Dom with heart. He sees the lifestyle as heartless. Can a brave submissive show a rock star that accepting his true nature will be nirvana for both of them? Letting go with her may help him put the pieces of himself—and his band—back together again.Struggling with the death of her mother, Sage Lyndsey turned to her Dom for comfort, but his impatience led to a humiliating scene in front of their club. Devastated, she runs to a small town on the Cali coast. After earning a BA in English Literature, I married and started a family. But the worlds and characters that swirled through my mind just wouldn’t go away, and at a particularly difficult time in my life, I picked up pen and paper (or laptop) and tried to release some of that difficulty onto the page. I’ve been writing ever since. Now I’m a member of Romance Writers of America, run an accountability blog to help writers reach their goals, and am pursuing publication with the same passion I feel for writing.Nothing pleases me more than sharing the stories of my heart with you, the reader, and I hope, in some small way, these stories will touch your heart too.
