No one EVER had a summer romance like this. When Charlie visited another plane parallel to our own, he discovered that Summer Angels and Dark Angels battle over the fate of man. Faced with choices no one should ever have to make, his adventure has been fraught with twists and turns, with life and death hanging in the balance. His guardian, Clarisse, is the half that makes him whole, but sinister forces conspire to do more than simply keep them apart. Find out if they can stand up to the powers that be in this THRILLING MAGICAL ADVENTURE!!! (New adult)
Summer Angel - A Summer Spirit Novella… What would you do if you discovered Guardian Angels are real?
Charlie and his parents had planned a fabulous summer vacation; the last one before he heads off to college. Things go mysteriously awry when the young man meets Clarisse; he finds himself separated from his parents and on a different sort of holiday.
Caught up in a strange adventure with the slender blonde, Charlie learns right away that things are not what they seem. She easily convinces him that her magical powers are real, and introduces him to a world mankind has only dreamt of. Promising to have him reunited with his family soon, the girl takes him on a gallery walk of life, using her abilities to give him a summer vacation he will never forget... and then again, may not even survive.
Dark Angel - A Summer Spirit Novella… Can your Guardian Angel simply walk away?
Charlie and his girlfriend met last summer, after his awakening from a near death experience. Their love grew while his body healed, and after a few short months, he had come to believe she was the girl of his dreams. But Donna has a secret; one she had never intended to share with the love of her life.
While Charlie’s physical being had lain in a hospital, his spirit had traveled to another dimension - her world - where the forces of light and dark collide. When he had returned to the living side of consciousness, Clarisse stole Donna’s body, claiming it and giving herself a second chance at life and love. Of course, people who die are meant to stay dead, and there will be rough times ahead as Keeper, head of the angels, decides how to put things back in order...
Forgotten Angel - A Summer Spirit Novella… Can love transcend death for a Guardian Angel?
When Clarisse took her own life, she wanted to spare Charlie’s suffering at the hands of Gous. He watched her die in a most gruesome fashion, and had to learn to live without the girl of his dreams in the physical sense. Instead, he managed to maintain contact with her, and brought new meaning to the term ‘long-distance relationship.’
In the weeks following their separation, Charlie returns to his home town. A commanding presence, the temptation to meddle in the lives of those around him becomes overwhelming. as does Clarisse’s desire to interfere with his. Tempers flare, and the girl flees, leaving him at the mercy of Gous and the dark path that lays before him. By a twist of Fate, Charlie’s world spins further out of control, and he sets off to find her on what could be his road to redemption. Will their love survive when he discovers the truth about his abilities? Or will the powers that be finally claim their forgotten angel...

Anyone who knows me could tell you, I am a friendly kind of person, never met a stranger and take up conversations anywhere at any time. I work hard, and my mind never seems to shut down, as I wake up often in the middle of the night with ideas pouring out and demanding to be dealt with. Of course that means much of my books were written in the middle of the night.
I grew up and still live in the great state of Texas where everything is bigger, where we have warm weather and a central location. I love my state, my town, and my family, which includes my four sons, my significant other, and many friends as well.
I have thoroughly enjoyed writing the books that are currently available and hope you will enjoy reading them just as much. And of course, there will be many more stories to come.

AJ Adams interviews Amanda Coffin, proofreader and editor
Today it's a real pleasure to introduce Amanda Coffin, editor and proofreader of Dirty Dealings, Helpless, Beast and Deliverance! I may be biassed but I think she's the best! On with the interview...
AJ: Tell us about yourself
Hello there! My name is Amanda Coffin. I do the majority of my work on Fiverr.com, where my account name is StylusInk. If you look at my profile, you'll see that I have two gig offerings - one for generic text and another specifically for erotica. You can also reach me at stylusink@outlook.com.
AJ: For romance and erotica writers, finding a proofreader can be a challenge, as they don't do sexy stuff. Tell us: what are your limits?
My erotica guideline is very straightforward: If it involves children or animals, I won't touch it. (I did make one exception for a piece of dinosaur-porn, because I figured no one is going to coerce a triceratops to do anything she doesn't want to.)
AJ: Okay, now we need to know: what are some of the more unusual niche stories you've edited?
In the erotica genre, I edited a series of three non-fiction books written and edited by Betsy Blankenbaker, starting with her own story, Autobiography of an Orgasm, and followed by two anthologies about women's orgasm that the initial book inspired-eye-opening, thought-provoking, and running the gamut from heartbreaking to funny.
The step-sibling/step-parent genre seems to be hot now, and I get a lot of stories, both gay and straight, in that category. One of my regular clients is now into "cozy" mysteries, which coat romance and murder with chocolate. Another long-time client is Edith Hawkes, and I've enjoyed her ventures into the shapeshifter arena, in which her heroes are prone to morphing into bears.
At the moment, I'm working on the latest in the "North Bay Pursuits" series by Kenzi Bond, featuring a US police department comprised almost entirely of luscious gay men. (Hey, it's a luscious break from the real world of police shootings, is it not?)
When it comes to full-length erotic crime novels, my favourites are by AJ Adams. No, I'm not kissing up to the interviewer here-they're really stupendous!
AJ: What's the difference between editing and proofreading?
Excellent question, and difficult to answer succinctly, because the lines blur. Roughly speaking, editing is concerned with the content-what you say and how you say it. Things like pacing, tone, characterization and organization fall into this category.
Copy-editing works at a more detailed level, focusing on sentence and paragraph structure, ensuring that grammar is sound and the text is clear and consistent. It may or may not include fact-checking, link-checking, and so on; discuss those things or any other concerns with your copy-editor.
Finally, proofreading is the nuts and bolts-spelling, punctuation and usage. And no, a skilled proofreader most certainly does not just run a text through an automated spelling and grammar checker! Those devices will not distinguish between palate, palette and pallet. They will not inform you that you've mixed up the names in your dialogue, and they won't fuss about the Oxford comma.
To get a proper job, you need someone who lies awake at night fretting about semi-colon abuse. Hint: Ask any potential proofreader or copy-editor what style guides they subscribe to, and whether they use US or UK standards (or both).
AJ: If we can't work with you, how do we find someone who will do the job right?
Because I do nearly all my work on Fiverr, and Fiverr requires payment up-front, I've heard a lot of grumbles from authors who pre-paid and were dissatisfied with the result. If you've got a lengthy manuscript, especially, this can be a costly mistake. On the other hand, I believe there are many competent editors and proofreaders on that platform, so it's really a matter of finding one whose working style is compatible with your own.
Start by looking at the reviews of course, and when you've identified a few candidates that sound good, send them a small excerpt of, say, 1000 words. Make it plain that you're evaluating their service, and request that they track changes. It's a small investment, probably $5 each, to get a good sense of the editors' abilities and styles.
Proofreading, especially, requires a very different mindset than writing. A good proofreader should be at least borderline obsessive-compulsive and will be more than happy to discuss your concerns and preferences with you. (Just be tolerant if we seem far more concerned about proper comma placement than you are. We can't help it.)

Review: Norseman's Deception (The Norsemen Sagas Book 2) by Gianna Simone

Norseman's Deception by Gianna Simone
Published: Jan. 02, 2016
Words: 80,280
ISBN: 9781311966506 Norseman's Deception is a classic bodice ripper, with oodles of forced sex that becomes consensual as the story matures. I haven't read a story like this since dipping into my mum's Mills and Boon novels, so it was pleasantly familiar.
The plot is pretty straightforward, with the feisty, beautiful Thora running away from a forced marriage to the evil Hersir being rescued by Ari, a rugged handsome hero who's got problems of his own after being falsely accused. No spoilers but you can guess how it comes together.
Norseman’s Deception is exactly what you’d expect from the cover. The attraction in books like these lies in their genre. All the glances are hot, all the heroines toss their hair, and it's adjectives galore. I enjoyed it. You sink into a book like this to relax, and Gianna Simone delivers exactly what’s promised.
It's charmingly written, and where the old books used to rely on kisses and sighs, this one gets right into it, with lots of sweaty, heaving, I-hate-loving-you passion. The wolves Kati and Kata added a nice touch too, letting us see Ari’s warm side throughout.
It's a fun, fast read.

AJ Adams Interview with L.C. Davis, author of Liminatlity!

AJ: What tags best describe your genre?
Paranormal romance, erotic romance, vampires, werewolves, shifters, lgbt, gay romance, MM romance
AJ: What was your last book published?
Liminality is the most recent book I've published, but Equilibrium, the last book in that trilogy within the Kingdom of Night Series, will be out on August 30th.
AJ: What did you love most about this story?
Equilibrium brings the main storyline for my protagonist and his twin love interests to a resolution, and it was incredibly rewarding to see those three get the happy ending they've been working towards for so long.
AJ: What made you choose your genre?
I've always loved reading and writing about the paranormal. I'm transgender, so on one level I think I always related to characters who didn't really fit into the world around them, and especially to the transformation aspect of shifters. I'm also a practicing witch, so on another level writing about angels, gods, witches and the like just comes naturally. I recently finished a contemporary romance that's in the editing stages and everyone who knows me is shocked that I managed to write a book without vampires. (Okay, so the main character plays one on TV, but it still counts!)
AJ: Do you ever get writer’s block? How do you cope?
I do, but the best advice I ever got was that the only cure for writer's block is to write. Sometimes I'll take a short break from the particular story that's giving me trouble, but I always find a way to write something, even if it's just a scene in my head that isn't attached to anything in particular. I'm a huge neuropsych nerd, so I've always felt like giving in to writer's block rewards the brain for not writing, and that's a habit most writers can't afford to indulge.
AJ: Tell us about your book covers. What do you look for? How do you go about making them?
Being married to a graphic designer has its perks! Sometimes there will be only one or two elements I'm set on, and then there's the Equilibrium cover, which I've always envisioned as a very specific scene from the first book. I love all types of covers, as long as they help set the tone for the story.

Seeking Hope by J.M. Maurer

by
J.M. Maurer
Jessica and Matthew’s captivating love story comes to an epic conclusion in the final installment of J.M. Maurer’s Emerging From Darkness trilogy that began with the novels Seeking Love and Seeking Redemption.
I’d been given promises in the past, all of which were broken. Inevitably, they broke me. I wouldn’t let those broken promises stop me from believing in new ones, though. I couldn’t.
Matthew Moi was different. His dimpled smile and witty sexual banter has held me spellbound since day one. Falling in love with him came easy. Marrying him—a dream come true.
Now, he wants something I’m not sure I’ll ever be ready for. As I struggle, he faithfully remains at my side. Through it all, his protective nature shields me from an evil I didn’t see coming.
Together, we have it all—love, passion, trust. Apart, the possibilities are endless, even death.
Seeking Hope is the final book in the Emerging From Darkness trilogy, and as such, is not intended to be a standalone. The trilogy reads as: Seeking Love, Seeking Redemption, & Seeking Hope.
Follow Jessica and Matthew’s captivating and steamy love story from the beginning—start the trilogy today!

Maracuja traums.
The yummy drink was on my mind days later as Matthew and I lounged under the heat of the sun, its rays warming my face as if I had an intravenous infusion of rum. I tossed around the idea of sipping on another one, but opted for a chilled bottle of water instead. After taking a sip, I rolled my head against the cushioned pillow and squinted against the bright light, seeing Matthew’s muscled chest. “Thanks for last night. I had a lot of fun.”
“You enjoyed yourself. I wasn’t sure you’d be able to handle the sunlight today.”
“I must have danced it all off, or something.” I winked, hearing a tone from Matthew’s phone. “You going to answer that?”
“Answer what?” He grinned. “A hundred bucks says it’s Holly.”
“I can’t take that bet, and you know it.”
“Yeah, you’d lose for sure.” He slid his thumb across the screen. “We’re not here. Leave a message, Holly.” He looked over my shoulder, disconnected the call, and then suddenly tossed the phone.
“You two are something else. The instant I called, I found you.” Holly kicked sand across my skin. “Would you stop hiding and join in on the fun? I have another surprise.”
I sat up, dusted off the sand, and offered her a seat. “Maybe we’re hiding from you,” I teased.
“There’s no hiding from me. And this,” she grabbed my hand and yanked me up, “you’re not gonna want to miss. Come on, you two. The Morgans are here, and Connor is serving drinks. You’re happy. I’m happy. Everybody is happy and having fun.”
She yanked again, dragging me away so fast that the sand wasn’t even able to sink in between my toes. “I’ll answer next time, Holly. I promise. Please stop jerking my arm.” I looked back at Matthew, mouthed a sorry, then shrugged, struggling to shuffle my feet.
“No problem, Mrs. Moi,” he shouted.
“Tomorrow,” I hollered back. “Not until tomorrow.”

Addison Kline re-release Phoenix

Title : Phoenix Author: Addison Kline

Book 1 of the Phoenix Saga - The Phoenix
“Love is patient. Love is kind. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” Or so the book of Corinthians tells us.
Alanna Anderson does not agree with this sentiment. At the tender age of thirteen, Alanna believes that she has learned all she needs to know about love. Love is fleeting. Love is callous. Love is a lie. Growing up in the rough streets of South End, Pennsylvania, Alanna Anderson knows a thing or two about guarding her heart. Although there is a boy that vies for her attention, Alanna has no interest. She surrounds herself with the people she loves best, and immerses herself in her music and her love of literature. But one winter day, two boys forever changed Alanna’s life. One cemented Alanna’s belief that love was cruel. Another sought to prove her wrong.
Cris Serrano is new to town. Moving to the United States from Portugal, he is stepping into a world he in unfamiliar with. He is not fearful, though. Stepping forth with confidence, Cris is excited for what this new experience will hold, leaving behind a past he’d rather forget. Upon his first day at Henshaw Elementary, Cris meets Alanna Anderson and sparks fly. Their connection is one that will forever rewrite the map of their destinies – two supernovas colliding amidst a darkened sky. Not everyone believes that Alanna and Cris belong together, though.
Damien Foley has loved Alanna Anderson from the day he first set eyes upon her. Though she ignores his advances, Damien has hope that Alanna will open her heart to him. But when Cris Serrano comes to town, everything changes. Alanna gazes at Cris the way Damien wishes she would look at him. Watching her fall in love in Cris was more than Damien’s mind could take. As Alanna and Cris are enveloped in the joy of young love, a storm is brewing. With Damien’s attraction to Alanna only intensifying with each unrequited sentiment, an obsession was born.
Young love does not come easy in this gritty, romantic suspense novel. In the Phoenix Saga, they love hard, they fight hard, and the stakes are high as teens struggle to step over the echelon of adulthood.

The final book in the Brodie Saga

Patrick ChambersJuly, Ten Years AgoBrighton
Patrick panicked quietly in the corner of the waiting area. He was going out of his mind with worry, the hearing had been taking so long. His father had been in the meeting room for four hours and no one had left or entered during that time. His mother’s nerves were so fraught she couldn’t leave the house. His sister preferred to be at the courthouse to hear the outcome of the public case against the hospital. He wanted to be there for his dad to hear the news. Each minute that passed caused his heart to constrict, the beginnings of a headache formed behind his eyes. The hospital board needed to decide his father’s fate, but Patrick believed his father wasn’t to blame. He didn’t do what they were accusing him of, he didn’t kill that boy.
The constant activity in the hospital corridor irritated him, people rushing back and forth to their offices, carrying files and folders. Several people smiled as they passed, he didn’t acknowledge them. Some of the blurred bodies tried to talk to him, but he ignored them. He didn’t care that they wanted to offer support, but he couldn’t hear them. The screaming noises in his head drowned out any words spoken.
He had his back to the door to the conference room when it opened and he spun around. He knocked a young girl off balance in his hurry to get to his father. Patrick grabbed her shoulders to steady her and stalked off in the direction of the open doors. His father stumbled out through the conference room door, his face was ashen, and his eyes glazed over as he clung to the metal frame. He found his balance and strode along the corridor with purpose, ignoring Patrick’s questions about what had happened.
Patrick and his father descended in the elevator in silence, they were not alone. All the passengers squashed in to get to the floor they needed. Patrick kept his eyes on his dad who ended up on the opposite side of the small box elevator. He didn’t let him out of his sight as his father bolted as soon as the door opened. Patrick chased him down the corridor and out into the sunshine, his father advanced around the building towards the car park, ignoring his pleas to stop. Finally, Patrick’s father came to a stop at his car, and he stood there squinting, blinking rapidly.
“What did they say, dad? What’s happening?” Patrick asked frantically. He circled around his father’s body to stand in front of him, and they were eye to eye. He had aged mentally ten years in the last six months, he wished he was still the foolish, naive nineteen-year-old he was six months ago. Patrick may have equalled his dad’s height, but he was no match in stature. Patrick was skinny and awkward and his father was tall, broad and foreboding. At this moment, his youthful features had aged, with his shoulders sagging in defeat. Patrick placed his hands on his dad’s shoulders and gave him a little shake. He lifted his head, looked him straight in the eyes and told him what they said.
The news shocked Patrick, genuinely stunned, he had an unpleasant taste in his mouth, his family would never be the same again and there was only one person to blame.

How to get your romance novel reviewed, an interview with Isabelle Werneck from More Books Than Livros

AJ: Hi, Isabelle. Welcome! Tell us a bit about yourself.Isabelle: Hi. My name is Isabelle. I’m 40 years old and have been married the last 18 years of those 40. I’m a mother of three teenagers and I work with children and teens with ADHD.
I’m a bookaholic and I’ve been passional about my books since I was 7 years old and was gifted my first book collection.
I’m from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; but I read mostly in English.
Living in Brazil, but liking to read in English was not easy before Kindle and Goodreads. In fact, I believe I’m a bit crazy about endorsing both Amazon and GR.
Before Kindle, I was always behind on my book series, because it took a while for me to get my books here in Brazil.
Before Goodreads, I didn’t know that many authors and genres and I had no one to discuss my books with. None of my friends like to read in English, they all wait for the translated version in Portuguese to arrive.
I have joined Goodreads on March 2012, and I believe on July of 2012 I got my first blog posting my reviews.
I always like to remind people that English is not my first language and my reviews are not professional at all. I write them, because I read them while choosing books to buy. In fact, I try to write them for every book I read, even if it is a 15 pages short-story.
Nowadays, I read for fun and what I really love to read is romance. I will read anything with a romantic plot, and only sometimes I will choose a book without any romance whatsoever.
I like to say I’m eclectic, and I can read almost any genre inside the romance category. Even though lately, I’ve been enjoying dark romance so much, I have been having a hard time with a very sweet romance with too much TLC (tender loving caring). I guess my favorite genres are paranormal romances, specially shifters stories and ménage reads, but I really like them all inside the romance category. From YA, to very spicy non-con type of dark romance; from Historical to Dystopian books.
AJ: What is your favourite way to be approached for reviews? Isabelle: I have been approached by authors or publishers through Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter and on my blog. I don’t mind, they all work for me. But I always ask the author to visit my blog and see at least a couple of my reviews and I make sure that he knows that I will post a review from a half a star until a 5 star. Like I’ve mention before, I review everything, even a books I dislike. I’m always polite on my reviews and I try to explain why I like or dislike the book. It’s never personal, it’s always about the book!
AJ: What is the trickiest thing about reviewing? Isabelle: The trickiest part for me personally, is to always try to bring something new. Because I read between 5 or 6 books a week, I post a lot of reviews. I sort of have created a script for me to follow. I try to avoid repetition on my reviews and I’m always trying to learn new words in English, so I can improve my vocabulary and the quality of my reviews .
AJ: What is your best tip to an author who gets a not-so-glowing review?Isabelle: I think the first and most important rule I would like to tell an author,: don’t take it personally! I know is hard, as a reviewer sometimes I also think people start judging what I’m writing, but in my case at least, is never personal. In fact, I write reviews for readers like me, not for authors. I’m not try to tell someone how or what they should write, I’m exposing to people with similar taste why they probably will or won’t like the book.
Books are art, not Science. We like or dislike because of personal preferences and tastes. Some books takes us beyond, in a cathartic experience. Others, don’t. I have read books from my favorites authors that I have dislike, it doesn’t mean I don’t like the author. It doesn't mean that I won't try something else from the author. I hope it helps!

Beth Huntley, photographer and devoted bachelorette, doesn’t believe in true love. Too much hurt and disappointment has left her hiding behind the camera. All she can see is a black and white world through the lens.
William Lorde, widower and father, was once an open and carefree man. The loss of his wife has left him wrapped up in the needs of his little girl. He can no longer see the colors of the world as he struggles each and every day.
What happens when these two similarly different people meet and help each other to step out of the world they’ve created for themselves? Will they find a love that helps them heal from the past, enjoy their present and create a beautiful future?

I woke the following morning to the sound of the ocean crashing against the beach. I was still wrapped in William's embrace, my head resting on his shoulder. His breathing was even and soft as he slept.
I was too comfortable to start the new day. Looking around without bothering to lift my head, I located our clothes, neatly folded on the other chair under the cabana. Heat rushed to my cheeks. Who had done that? And when had they done it?
William stirred beside me. "Morning, love." His voice was rough with sleep.
"Morning," I whispered, not sure if our mysterious housekeeper was still nearby.
He was immediately focused. "Beth, what's wrong?"
It was impossible to hide anything from him now. I was an open book now and he was my reader.
"We had a visitor," I said, pointing at our neatly-folded clothes.
He relaxed back into the chair. "Oh, Beth, we're grown adults. We didn't do anything the rest of them haven't done."
He was right, but it wasn't something I was so open to having everyone know. "But..."
"Relax, Beth." William consoled me. "Are you regretting it?"
I was shocked at his question. "No, never!"
"So don't be embarrassed. It's a natural part of a relationship," William chuckled. "Stop over thinking everything."
I hid my face on his chest. He was right; he was always right. How could I doubt what had happened between us? We’d both been ready, and I was sure a few people up at the house were curious why it hadn't happened sooner. I had to stop over-analyzing everything.
A different thought crossed my mind. "Oh my god, William!" I jumped up, scrambling for my clothes.
"Beth? What?"
"My camera!" I cursed as I yanked the tank top from the folded clothes over my head.
"Where did you leave it?" He sounded concerned, knowing what my equipment meant to me.
"On the beach, before we went into the water last night," I yelled as I hopped out of the cabana, still attempting to get my other leg in my shorts.
We spent the next twenty minutes searching the beach. My anger quickly turned into horror as reality sunk in. My camera was gone. Had someone taken it, or had the ocean claimed it?
William tried to comfort me as we trudged up the path to the villa. "All those photos... the airport, the flight, the first photos of Jamaica, they're all gone, William." I was more upset over the loss of the photos than the camera itself.
Voices were audible from the kitchen as we stepped through the patio doors. The aromas were incredible, but weren't enough to lighten my mood. Most people would be upset about the camera, but even if it was my favorite, and worth a ridiculous amount of money, it was the loss of so many memories which upset me.
Jude came out of her bedroom and stopped short when she spotted us. She glanced towards the kitchen as she rushed towards us. She wrapped her arms around me, and whispered loud enough so William could hear her, "Everyone thinks you went for an early walk." I stiffened, unsure how much she knew. "I put your camera in your bedroom." She chuckled as she stepped back. As she turned, she reached out and tugged on William's shirt. "You really do pack neatly."
I stood motionless, completely stunned and my body turned to lava with embarrassment. Just before Jude turned the corner to the kitchen, she glanced over her shoulder. "By the way, William, you should get a tan on that ass."

My imagination began to soar as I grew. I began writing small poems as a teenager, but never thought much about publishing or expanding beyond put my words to paper.
After my children were born our love for a certain TV show fueled my love for writing. Using my children as inspiration, I began to write fanfiction, my children being the characters within the stories.
My passion for putting words to paper (or screen as is the norm now) has turned from passion to obsession. I've made some incredible friends through this journey and in turn, have become not only an author but a promoter and supporter for those whose imagination dreams characters and worlds that I can lose myself in.
I thank my precious children, my beautiful soul-mate and my forever sister and best friend for being my constant rock and support as I continue to walk this road called life.
