Character Intro

So I have a special message to share. It’s from the main character in True Connection, Jazzy. Here’s what she has to say.
‘Hey guys! I’m under strict orders to keep this short, sweet and to the point. I’m not allowed to give you too many details *Ahem…Rachel…* So I want to tell you a little bit about myself. I’m absolutely in love with music! Music inspires me to draw or paint. That is where my true passion is. At the moment I’m drawing some children playing in the park. Anyway, I love to read, I have a library of books in my room. I have a touch of OCD. Everything has it’s own place and I’m constantly fixing the kitchen. My uncle is terrible at putting dishes away and has been banned from doing it ever again. I enjoy school, more than I probably should. I have bad days like everyone else but for the most part I really love being at school and having to challenge myself to complete assignments. I can handle school better than dealing with the challenges outside of school. That would be one of the topics I have to not mention so no more on that I promise! I absolutely love being near water. The beach is one of my favorite places of all times. The smells, the sounds, to feeling, it’s just amazing. Well, I need to go, my brother is ready to teach me how to parallel park! I hope we use cones, or boxes this time. I’m sure my uncle would appreciatte not having to fix another dent in his bumper. Oops! I’ll catch up with you guys later! Maybe then I’ll be allowed to give you a peek into my world!’
I hope you enjoyed the little introduction Jazzy gave. There will be more character introductions, as soon as they stop fighting over who goes next. ;)
News on the cover reveal? It will probably be happening at the beginning of November. I’m so excited and cannot wait to share it with you! It might happen sooner! Keep your eyes peeled :)

A little introduction

So, I want to introduce myself, I am Rachel Walter and I’m going to be realeasing my first book soon. I’m not sure what you would like to know about me, so I’m going to move along and introduce my book a little bit.
My book is the first in a series, True Connection from my Soul Mate Series. It’s Young Adult Paranormal. I’m sure you’d like to hear a little bit more about the book right? Well you’re in luck!
True Connection focuses on a teenage girl. Here is the description:
It’s more than a fight for my life. It’s a fight for my soul and my soul mate.
My name is Jazzy and I’m just your average, everyday teenager, until one night a few months ago tragedy struck my family by the hands of a drunk driver. Now my mom, uncle, brother and I are left picking up the pieces of our broken hearts. As a result my brother and I moved in with our uncle and ended up switching schools as well. All I want is to feel normal again and for everyone to stop treating me like a porcelain doll. I’m not made of glass, I will not break.
For me, switching schools late in the year to our rival school was practically a sin all its own. Looking back, I can tell you that it was just the beginning. From being stalked to nightmares, this move was affecting me in more ways than one. It wasn’t all bad of course. I found an awesome, yet unusual, group of friends and a very gorgeous green eyed hottie to occupy my time with. Then things began to get weird. For the most part it was good but sooner, rather than later, the weird turned into impending doom sitting on a precipice begging to be pushed.
Things were brought to light that made me question everything I thought I knew, maybe not everything, but close enough. You know like when you’re a kid and you have a bad dream and your dad says, ‘Oh Sweetie, you’re ok, the monsters can’t hurt you. Go back to sleep,’ you believe it. How about in school, when you begin learning about Greek Mythology and your teacher says, ‘These stories are all myths. The Greek Gods and other mythical creatures did not and do not exist.’ You believe that as well. So how would you react if you were told one day that everything you’ve been taught thus far isn’t as black and white as it seems? That there is this huge grey area, and you’re living in it.
*Warning* Mature Content. This contains some profanity, mild sexual situations, innuendoes, and violence. Recommended for ages 17 and up, depending on maturity level.

So, I’m going to leave you with this for now. If you have any questions for me feel free to ask! I will be introducing a few of the characters to you all with in the next few weeks and Cover Reveal will be happening soon!

Ramblings of an insomniac

I don’t know how it is for anyone else, but for me, when an idea hits me I have to write it down, or record it somehow. If I don’t, I will completely forget about it. I have notebooks and pens scattered throughout the house, idea notes through my phone, on the calendar and sometimes on my hand. I have one pad of paper with a pen on my nightstand, I recently looked through those notes, and I found one that I’m not entirely sure what it was supposed to be. This is what it says:

Thrown

ball (or hall) lights way

Funny kitten

See what I mean? No idea! It could mean several things or nothing at all. It could mean that when you throw a light up ball you attract a funny kitten. When thrown, the hall lights the way to the funny kitty. Either way, it stills bugs me. I can’t figure out what I meant. So it’s going to file 13, ya know the garbage can.

Some news, cover reveal is set as November 5, 2012. I think I might reveal it sooner than that, but at the moment it’s set for the 5th.

Got some Works In Progress that I’m extremely excited about. I’m not focusing on them just yet, just dealing with edits for True Connection.

Adding to my writing play list as well. I don’t know about you, but I have to listen to music when doing pretty much anything. Cleaning, cooking, reading, writing, drowning out The Octonauts, or Super Why, I love listening to music and finding new tunes. My three year old loves to dance, and try to sing. So it comes in handy again in my day to day life.

I suppose since I’m rambling, you might want to know some details on the next character to be introduced? Well, we’re still trying to figure that out. Seems a few of them are making a bit of a contest. The first to successfully prank Jazzy wins. The winner gets the next blog entry.

That should take you to Jazzy and her soul mate’s song.  :)
