“In my encounter with Sasquatch/Dogman(?), it was screaming right in my face (note there were no trees for 75 yards). AND I COULD NOT SEE A THING!!! I had accidentally caught one in a trap; he destroyed the trap then followed me home. When it got dark, he came to my house screaming. When the whole family went out on the porch to see what it was, we could hear it right in front of us but could see nothing! Every time I thought of asking my father if I could take his shotgun to see what this thing was the screams got five times louder. I said to myself, 'Whatever this animal is, it can read my mind!' This is a true life experience that happened 55 years ago (1962). Since then I have had one other experience where I knew they were right next to me but I could not see them!" - Peter Berian

Huge Python Swallows Woman
JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — A 7-meter-long (23-foot-long) python has swallowed a woman in central Indonesia, a village official said Saturday.
The victim, 54-year-old Wa Tiba, went missing while checking her vegetable garden near her village on Muna island in Southeast Sulawesi province on Thursday evening, according to the village chief, Faris.
On Friday, her family went to look for her at the garden but found only her belongings, including sandals and a flashlight, said Faris, who uses a single name.

Husband's Doppelganger
“I saw a doppelganger of my husband one night. I used to walk in the evenings for exercise in my small neighborhood, my house being at a dead end cul de sac at the end of the road. I would walk back and forth on the road several times. As I was on my way back toward our mailbox at the end of our driveway I noticed a light moving in the sky above me. Looked like a "star" but it was moving slowly in a straight line. I then saw the silhouette of my husband smoking at the end of the driveway. He would sometimes come up to check on me and I saw his clear silhouette with a small red light in front of his face that looked like a burning cigarette. I then looked back up in the sky at the "star" moving in a line and said out loud "Do you see that?" And he didn't answer me. I looked back and he was gone. I ran down the driveway to the house and he was sitting in the recliner watching TV. He had no clue what I was talking about.” - Reese Daniel

Encounters: The Old Lady / Pretty in Pink / The Body
A few encounter reports I've received over the years:
The Old Lady
I believe I once witnessed a shape-shifting witch! My older brother, older sister and I were going home for the weekend. We were coming in from Phoenix, AZ. We had to leave pretty late. It usually takes us 5 hours to get home, which is in Low Mountain near Pinon, AZ. We drove toward Keams Canyon highway and took a certain dirt road that would take us straight to Low Mountain. Before we reached the dirt road we noticed a very old lady walking on the side of the highway with a cane at 2 o'clock in the morning! She had her scarf around her head, a long black jacket and wearing a green dress. We did not think anything of it but thought it was weird that she was walking late at night on a highway. The reservation is really dark at night and there are hardly anyone driving on the roads. We eventually turned on the dirt road.
A mile away from the highway we noticed the same old lady walking on the side of the dirt road with her cane. I freaked out! I started crying because we knew that it was the same lady 15 miles back. My brother stepped on the gas and started driving faster. He gave us some medicine to protect us from harm. We eventually got to a highway that takes us to Chinle, Low Mountain, or Pinon. We passed the first bridge and we noticed that the old lady was sitting on the highway with her head down waving the cane in the air. Before we could pass her the car just shut down and wouldn't start. The old lady stood up facing the opposite way from us, so we wouldn't see her face and walked across the other side of the road. She turned her head to face us and her face was painted all black. She kept walking and eventually disappeared in the distance. My brother turned the ignition and the car started!! It scared the hell outta me!!! I was crying so bad that I never wanted to drive through the road again.
When we got home we told my parents about it. My Dad said that there was an old couple that lived between the two highways that did bad medicine on people. He also said that her husband had passed on not long ago and that she walks that road every now and then. They had two kids; one of them passed away at a very young age with an unknown cause of death and the other one drinks and huffs. We ended up driving back the longer way which was taking the highway to the junction road and going toward Ganado. It was very real and very scary." Name withheld

The Body
In 1986, my Dad and his sister owned a cattle ranch in northern Puerto Rico. One morning, after finding several head of cattle mutilated under strange circumstances, Dad decided to guard the ranch during the night armed with a rifle, along with myself (I was 15 at the time) and two of his friends.
A few nights later we noticed movement about 100 metres east of us. There were five short grayish beings with very large heads emerging from the ravine and approaching the cattle. The beings quickly entered one of the pens and proceeded to float a calf out. The floating calf was very close to the ground and the beings walked alongside it in a shuffling manner.
At that point, Dad and his friends began firing at the creatures. One of the beings seemed to be hit and fell to the ground shrieking loudly. The calf also fell to the ground while the other beings assisted their wounded companion who was writhing in obvious pain. The men fired again on the beings who then ran quickly into the woods leaving the injured being behind. The wounded being attempted to run away but was shot in the back by my Dad's friend. It lay silently on the ground dying. My Dad then struck it on the head with the rifle butt caving in the top of the head. It died very shortly.
Pictures of the dead alien being were taken and hidden away. My Dad preserved the body in a large jar filled with alcohol and formaldehyde. He stored it in the cellar of our home and told me to never mention it to my Mother and siblings. I remember seeing it several more times after the incident.
In 1999, my Dad suddenly passed away. His friends think he was killed by the beings since he disappeared for several days before his burned body was found in a remote area. I do feel that my Dad's death was related to the beings we witnessed that strange night.
The body of the being is supposedly being kept by one of my Dad's friends who fears the local and US authorities would somehow prosecute him for his involvement in killing it. I now live in Texas and, honestly, I hope I never see that body again - though I do believe it should be disclosed that it exists. JG

Pretty in Pink
I really enjoy your blog but honestly, it scares the hell out of me sometimes. I wanted to relay a weird experience told to me a while back that I have only told to one other person...my wife. When I was with the police department in a jurisdiction near Ames, Iowa in 1988 a deputy told me about an experience he had one evening while driving down an isolated country road. The area was new to him as he was covering for another off duty officer. He told me it had just finished raining at about 6:30 pm when he drove past a cemetery on his right. About a quarter mile down the road he noticed a girl walking on the side of the road. He stopped his cruiser to offer the girl a ride to wherever she was going. She accepted his offer and sat in the back seat during the ride. The deputy remembered how pretty she looked dressed in beautiful pink prom gown. She explained she was on her way to her school prom and after about two miles down the road, asked to be let out on the dimly lit corner at an old filling station. He dropped her off then proceeded down the road to continue his tour.
It was a dark evening and he got concerned about the girl's safety so he turned around and went back to where he had dropped her off but she was no where to be found. He passed the old abandoned filling station and continued back down the road to the cemetery and a small house located next to it. He parked his cruiser in the dirt driveway and knocked on the door. An old man answered the door and the police officer described what had happened and he had wondered if the girl possibly came to his house. The old man just smiled and said to come inside and he would explain.
It seems that the girl the deputy picked up that night, was killed on her way to her school prom back in the 1940's by a drunk driver. The old man stated that several times a year she walks down that same road trying to get to her prom. He took the deputy into the cemetery and showed him the girl's gravestone. After shaking off the shivers the deputy returned to his cruiser and began his tour again. He was driving on the same road but at the corner where the old filling station was located there was just an open field with trees. The deputy asked me to never tell anyone about this experience.
I no longer live in the area but I have been told that the pretty girl still frequents the old country road searching for a ride to the prom. JC

“When I was 18 years old I was visiting a friend who lived out in the boonies. She had 20 acres of land, horses and had no neighbours at all living around her. During the visit I helped her with some outside chores that took almost the full day. It was around 6:30pm, we had just finished working, she was about 50 feet away from me with another person chatting and I was looking for a good place to walk my dog. As I stood there looking at some open field with a large bluff of trees behind it my eye caught a glimpse of a dark black figure hiding behind some trees. It stood upright and seemed curious about me. I had no idea that dogman existed back then so my initial thought was 'why is someone wearing a fur costume in the middle of nowhere'. I stared at it for awhile as it stared at me. It had a snout like a dog, long straggly furred arms with long fingered hands, I could not see its legs or a tail because of the shrubs and the tree. Now that I know about the dogman, I do believe that is what I witnessed that day.” - Allyson Jayne

“A very very good friend of mine was working on a ranch in Montana in about 1986. He was herding up some horses and went up over a hill with forest on either side with a clearing on his left. The horses were uneasy which brought him to notice something in a clearing to his left. There squatted over an animal was this huge grey, red-eyed dog thing. What really stood out to him was it had three really razor-sharp long claws. The light was shining through the trees on to him and it turned and looked right at him and then turned back to eating his prey. I always believed my friend and his description is clear as day in my own mind. Never heard anyone else talk about the three claws though so that's why I always listen to other people's Dogman stories.” - Catherine Hughes

I thought it was going to kill me and I am scared of this thing today from over 45 years ago. I didn't say it was a dog man but it had the fire red eyes hiding in a cornfield and was trying to attack me. It would not come into the light and is the only thing I think that saved me. “My uncles were attacked by a creature like this (Dogman) going through a jungle area of Mexico, in the 70's. They were driving a big cargo truck at night when something jumped on the back of the truck. They didn't stop to see what it was because there where no lights on the road. My uncle on the passenger side saw this devilish creature that looked like a dog climbing closer to the cabin of the truck. They said the thing was huge. My uncle's screaming in fear when they saw it, said they tried to shake the truck but it would fall off until they hit it against a tree on the opposite side of the road/path. They kept driving all night to the morning all freaked out. When they got to a gas station in a village they saw gash marks and hand but animal prints on the windows where it was trying to get in and on the back trailer. They told their story to some of the villager or farmer and they told them that dogmen-like demons roam those areas. And they were not the only ones who have been attached before. They were so freaked out the hair on both arms rises even telling their experience. They said they never drove through Central America besides the cities or villages at night ever again. I wish I could have recorded them telling the stories. They have died already, but even before they died they stuck with what happened to them and they never did drugs.” - Claudia C

“I remember years ago when I was about 13 running from bullies up at our woodland in Northern Ireland... I climbed an old oak tree, the only one in the forest but it had really good cover. You could not see me when I was up in it. I hid there all night long. I was that scared, but it was about 2 in the morning when I heard growling and something sniffing around the bottom of the tree. I thought at first it was a really big dog until it stood up on 2 legs. It was huge - bigger than my father and he was touching 6 foot 7 and it had hands with claws not paws and pointed ears and a long snout like a German Shepherd has but only longer and its eyes glowed like looking in a mirror. Now I told a few friends and teachers what I had seen and they made fun of me even the teachers asking me if I had seen a pink elephant as well, but I know what I saw and no-one can tell me different.” - Daniel McMullan

“On my way home from my boys basketball practice our head light hit a black cloudy mist moving across the road and it turned into a large, standing-up-on-two-legs wolf. We were horrified. For months I had nightmare about this. My mind just had a hard time trying to comprehend what this thing was. As our car passed it, we got a very good look at it. The feeling of fear was so intense for weeks. It happened two miles from my house and I live in the country on Highway 72 in Bollinger County, Missouri. Meet the 'Chicago Phantom'
Chicago artist Donie Odulio has released a set of illustrations based on the recent sightings of a winged creature surrounding Lake Michigan.
The creature, often described as a large, dark, humanoid figure with an enormous wingspan and glowing red eyes, has been spotted around the great lake in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana--although reports have come in from even farther afield.
"I've always been into the paranormal, and came across Chicago Mothman sightings," Odulio said of his motivation behind the illustrations. "I had read John Keel's book in the past and saw the Mothman movie so I was familiar with the Point Pleasant sightings. “I know all too well the terror that runs through your veins when you have an encounter. Mine was standing on a subway platform around 1982 as I walked onto the platform. A tall man with a trench coat and hat was staring straight ahead. As soon as I noticed him I knew not who, but what he was. As I walked up and past him a very loud buzzing sound started in my head. It became so loud as I passed him, I had to scream in my head for him to "F" off. As I kept walking past, the sound receded. The train came in and I waited for the doors to open to look at him and see him get on the train, and he was gone.” - Alpha Lite

The 'White Woman' at the Junction
Hi, I am Anthony N. from Kenya. I have read your article of the bat-like creature at Illinois and I think I have a paranormal encounter that I think is worth sharing.
One day I was on my way home from school on foot. It was 11 pm I can recall very well. I had stayed long in school studying for it was about exam period. So on this particular day I was the only walking human in the dark. I reached a certain junction where two roads part. There is something strange about this point, for, once one reaches here, you began to feel a great fear that is not normal.
I took the road that lead home and walked for about 5 meters. The great fear was still in me and I could feel all my hair stand. I heard a cat call behind me the followed by a voice calling my full name. The voice was like whisper. I felt my blood run chill but I had enough courage to turn and to my dismay, I saw, at a distance, a white woman dressed in a white full dress, seated on a black thing waving at me. Something about her bothered me. I could see her clearly which was ironic because, the darkness was so thick for me to see my legs.
I was so terrified that I broke into a sprint all the way home. Luckily the didn't follow me, though I thought so. I reached home panting. After cooling down, I narrated the story to my mum and dad. My mum did not seem to believe me but Dad confessed of having a similar incident at the same place. He advised me to avoid the junction. Till this day that place appears like a black spot to me. AN

St. Clair County Bigfoot
I received an interesting telephone call from a man in Port Huron, Michigan on the night of Tuesday 6/13/2018. He was somewhat nervous, because it was the first time that he had told his story to someone other than family and friends.
This narrative begins in the early 1980s while the witness was young man living on his family farm in St. Clair County, Michigan...approximately 8 miles northwest of Port Huron. The first incident occurred when his older sister and her husband where living in a trailer on the property. About 2am she frantically ran into her parent's house, yelling for her father to grab a gun because something huge had literally picked up the end of the trailer and moved it several feet.
There were other incidents of this 7-8 foot red-eyed hairy hominid walking onto the property, literally getting into the livestock pens and storage areas. In fact, it has killed many peacocks and pheasants that the witness' mother has been raising. The family was on high alert for many years, fearing that the beast would make an attempt to break into the house.
One interesting incident occurred when the witness and a friend made their way to the sand dunes on the shore of Lake Huron...which was several miles east of the farm. This beast had literally followed the pair and shadowed them throughout the day. The being was not aggressive, but made the witness very nervous not knowing what would happen.
The witness also explained that there had been a strange incident back in the 1940s, when two local girls had gone missing after picking berries. Eventually the pair turned up, but there was never an explanation given as to what happened. Many years later, the witness befriended the woman, who was then in her 70s. He recalled the incident with her. She confided to the witness that 'we would have never found our way back if it were not for the big hairy man who brought us home.'

A ‘BIGFOOT' IN THUMB?

Cindy Barone isn't sure she wants to call the creature, "Bigfoot."
But something big, hairy and red-eyed has frightened her family three times since September.
Something out there roaming the farm fields of Michigan's Thumb area is emitting high-pitched screams by night.
"It's the unknown that scares us," says Mrs. Barone, whose family last encountered the creature Friday night at their farm home near Yale in St. Clair County.
Tina Barone, 13, said she and her sister, Roxanne, 12, went to the barn to do chores.
"Roxanne was scared to go into the barn because she'd heard noises before," Tina said. "I said I would go in first, so I reached in for the light.
"I felt fur.
"At first I thought it was a goat or something, so I took my glove off and I touched it again.
"It didn't look like anything. It was tall with red eyes and big and black and furry and stood on two legs. It had a deep growl."
Tina told Roxanne to run back to the house. "It scared me so bad I just had to run." Roxanne said. "I just can't put what it looked like into any kind of form."
Tina said she turned and began to walk slowly from the barn but "it started walking out behind me and I started running."
The creature never tried to harm her, Tina said.
"It let me touch him when I took my glove off, " she said. "The horses were running around, they were spooked. But it was just curious, whatever it is."
The girl's cousin David, 18, got his 16-gauge shotgun to scare the creature away.
"When it stood there and looked at me, it didn't know what to do and I didn't either," said Barone. "It's unbelievable. Its big.
"It was some kind of animal but I can't describe what. It was about 6 feet; 6 or 7 feet 6. I didn't shoot to kill, I just shot in the air to scare it away. It ran into the woods, making a funny noise.
"It was standing on two feet and had real long arms-between a bear and an ape, that's what I think. I've never seen a Bigfoot, so I have no idea if it was one of those."
Mrs. Barone, 33, said their first encounter with the animal came in September, when her neighbors' barn door was ripped off at the hinges.
"I've had fences torn down and grain barrels dumped over and eaten," she said. She said her dogs have raced off into the dark, barking at an unknown intruder, and their farm animals have been spooked by some unknown predator many times.
Mrs. Barone said the family is frustrated by the unwillingness of many people, including the local sheriff to take her story seriously.
Mrs. Barone did file a report of the Friday incident with the sheriff's department but the report contains no mention of her daughter actually seeing an animal.
"There was nothing in our report to indicate this," said a department spokeswoman, who speculated that Tina actually felt a raccoon or other small, friendly creature.
But Tina is sure she did not feel a typical barnyard animal. "From now on, I'm going to take the camera when I'm doing barn chores in case I see him again, because no one believes us," she said.
A mysterious creature - called a Sasquatch, or Bigfoot - that walks on two legs and roams wooded areas from coast to coast has been reported many times from coast to coast.
While there is no documented proof of the existence of Bigfoot, films have been made that reportedly show the creature fleeing into a forest and footprints and other evidence have been uncovered which has led many people to believe the creatures do exist.
"I don't know what it is but I do know it is something," Mrs. Barone said.

Aggressive Upright Canine Encountered in Berks County, PA
On Saturday June 9, 2018, I received an inquiry from a witness in Berks County, PA. Since my investigation colleague Butch Witkowski lives in the general area, I forwarded the email to him. The following is Butch's report:
Berks County Bi-Pedal Sighting
In 2009, in the area of Mt. Penn and Neversink Mountain, Berks County PA a witness returning home from work witnessed what he thought was a large dog squatting along the side of the road. He approached with caution as he thought the dog may run out onto the roadway and he didn't want to hit it, but as he approached the animal he noticed the lower legs were very large and not those of a dog. The animal stood up and it was not a dog but a large Bi-Pedal Canine, approx. 7 to 8 foot tall and standing on two legs. He described a large wolf head with large ears and massive body build. It had long arms with hands and claws and was aware of him as he approached in his vehicle. As he accelerated to go around the animal it reached out for the door of the vehicle. He said it was a light brown in color and was aggressive. Mapping and exact locations under examination now. Updates will be coming.
Investigators Note: Having grown up in that area and spending a great deal of time on those Mountains, I can attest to the many strange stories of animal sightings and more coming from the Neversink and Mt Penn areas like large wild dogs, bears, ghostly spectres, and near misses on the tracks from the old Gravity Railroad, but as a youngster we all waived off the stories as a parents trick to keep us off the mountains and out of trouble. Time to give those old stories a second look...Butch

'They' Came Into My Bedroom
West Yarmouth, MA: June 1st, 2015, at approximately 2:30 in the morning, I was sitting up in my bed after a girlfriend of mine had just left. The next thing I knew, a bright blue light was shining through my slider, and I was laying flat on my back completely paralyzed. I think I could move my eyes but I'm not sure then there were three 4 to 5 foot tall beings at the end of my bed, their faces seemed kind of blurry or maybe it's my memory of it the one in the middle was talking to me in my own voice but inside of my head. I was trying to scream or even just move, but I couldn't. I just remember him telling me that everything was going to be fine, they're not going to hurt me.
I asked them what they wanted. They said they just had to run a few tests and in the blink of an eye the other two beings were on both sides of me the two of them put there two fingers underneath my lower back and my shoulder and I lifted out of the bed as if weightless then they floated me towards the sliding door and the flash of blue light took me out after that all I remember was a cold table and feeling very uncomfortable and then I was back in my bed sitting up and it was 4:30 in the morning. I have a strange circle scar on my arm and three small scars in the shape of a triangle on the head of my genital.
Since then I have seen a bright orange fireball floating across the sky in my back yard and I wake every night at 3:30 and can watch the clock change if this is just a dream it was the most traumatic dream I've ever had my life and I hope my kids don't have these dreams.
NUFORC Note: We spoke via telephone with the source of the report, and he sounded to us to be quite eloquent and serious-minded. He mentioned that he couldn't be certain whether the event he describes above may have been a dream, or whether it was real, but his strong impression was that it was real. - NUFORC

The 'Great Wolf'
“When I was 3 we lived in Milan, New Mexico in the Four Corners area. This would have been about 1960. It's one of my first memories, my Navajo babysitter told me if I didn't go to bed she would call in the 'Great Wolf.' I was three so of course I did not go to bed. She opened the door and called in the wolf which scared me enough to go to bed. Later that night I heard a strange sound and I thought that our Labrador, Cesar, had been let into the house so I got up and walked into the living room at that point I felt a paw hit me in the face then I heard Caesar outside in his kennel barking and I screamed. When my parents hit the light switch there was nothing in the room with me. The room smelled like wet dog though.” Linda Bryan

Big Black Cats in Oregon
Hi Lon....about 10 years ago I was driving to a store when all of a sudden I noticed a golden light immersed the whole area. It is a semi country road and a farm field on my right. I was in my truck and no other vehicles in sight. I looked to the field and saw a enormous black cat with a long tail that was twitching back and forth like all cats do when they are mad. The light was still thick with golden light and as I watched he turned around to look at me and roared very loudly! I was more astounded than anything and as I was watching he dissolved. And then everything was back to normal, cars coming, sun shining... Being it was Saturday I called Fish and Wildlife and left a message thinking I wouldn't hear back. Well Monday morning I got a call from one of the guys there, he asked me questions, I answered as honestly as I could. He then proceeded to tell me that these sightings have been reported going back over 100 years. And also big cat tracks have been found and he personally have tracked them and they just vanish at the end. So this is one of my stories. Thanks for listening. JW - Union, Oregon

1960's 'Gargoyle' Attack in Southern Illinois
The following comment was found on the Beyond Creepy YouTube page. It was made in reference to a discussion about Gargoyles:
“This guy (Nick Redfern), is telling the truth about this Gargoyle-looking thing back in the 60's because this thing paralyzed me one day when I was six, on a trail in the woods. After it was done with reading my brain for technology it let me go. It looked like a Gargoyle with huge bat wings. I lived in Alton, Illinois at the time, back in the sixties. This is true. This Gargoyle-bat looking thing erased my memory for over 40 years, then one day, I just started to remember to my horror. Because growing up on a farm in southern Illinois after moving from Alton, Illinois I never saw anything that would trigger my memory of that day when I was six years old.
Now, back to what triggered my memory of that day in Alton on the trail. I was in my late 40's when my friends were camping out on a dark cloudless night when, all of a sudden, I saw my first flying saucer. So I hollered to my three friends to quickly come here and look up where that I was pointing and they saw it too. It was very clear to see what it looked like. Saying the least, we were all amazed because none of us had ever seen a real flying saucer before. After the camping trip, I started to think about what my friends and what I had just seen. That's when it hit me like a ton of bricks of what happened to me back in the sixties when that bat-looking thing grabbed me by the back of my head and stopped me where I was just standing in the middle of the trail watching the older kids in front of me racing to the club house. They just kept on running and never looked back at me when I was stopped by this Gargoyle-bat-devil looking thing that had me paralyzed. Someone had the idea of racing to the club house that we all built one day but, no, I've never remembered anything about that day until I was well into my 40's. After that night my friends and I went camping when we all saw that flying saucer.
Things in this world are not like we think that they are or like we had hoped that they should be. My hopes are one day to be hypnotized to see if I have any memories of this Gargoyle thing's technology, because as he was reading my brain, I could see his too. So that being said, there's no telling what memory of its technology I have. Just remember this, never never go into the woods without a gun or a very long knife, or something for protection.” - Mary Ledbetter

Behind the camera, you hear its owner shouting "hey, hey, hey," as he begins to panic.
The beast then grabs hold of the dog and a loud scream is heard before the video cuts out.
It was originally filmed in 2015 but has re-emerged after being shared on YouTube yesterday.
Channel Nv Tv decided to post the clip after being convinced it was evidence of a dogman.

'Ghost Town' For Sale
Nestled between two national parks, Sequoia and Death Valley, there is a ghost town for sale. For a little under a million dollars, you could own a piece of the American West: an abandoned silver mining town founded in 1867 called Cerro Gordo.
Mental Floss reports:
Located in Owens Valley near the town of Lone Pine, the $925,000 property comes with over 300 acres of land, mineral rights, and no shortage of peace and quiet. There are 22 structures on site, including a historic hotel, bunkhouse, saloon, chapel, and museum—plus all of the artifacts that come with it.

Rare Orange Lobster Caught
WESTBOROUGH, MA—A lobster came into the Roche Bros. Supermarket in Westborough last week that is so rare, they're not going to sell it. The lobster, as the store posted on its Facebook page, has a genetic anomaly that shows up in 1 in every 10 million lobsters, which makes them orange, blue, calico or white.
Roche Bros. is donating the orange lobster to the New England Aquarium where the animal - which is likely 7-9 years old - will likely be included in a future exhibit there or at an aquarium in Japan.
Roche Bros. sells roughly 200,000 of lobsters each year across its 20 stores. Staff remembers about 15 years ago receiving a blue lobster, which is the most common of the "uncommons."

Opening Death's Door
An anonymous man called in to the 'Joe from the Carolinas' podcast to describe something strange that he saw in a photograph back around 2000 while serving on the US/Mexico border:
“I used to never believe in anything really. I was just a regular guy, joined the military, drank a lot of beer, didn't think about stuff like this. I was in this area...I was stationed close to the country...I speak Spanish. I'm actually originally from Spain. I came to the States as a kid, went to high school here, etc. Anyway, so I was stationed by the border and, of course, since I speak Spanish, I would go to Mexico all the time and ended up meeting this girl whom I'm married to now, 16 years now. When she was my girlfriend, like I said, I didn't believe any of this stuff, any paranormal stuff at all. But my father-in-law who, at the time, was just my girlfriend's dad, he was still teaching. He taught drafting or something like that, in a college. He's into paranormal, UFOs and stuff. I guess he got me into it.
He asked me if I believed in death and I said, 'Well, we're all gonna die' and he said, 'No, the actual Grim Reaper. Do you believe in the Grim Reaper?' I said, 'No' and I thought he was crazy when he asked me that, but he goes, 'What would you think if I showed you a picture of Death, the Grim Reaper, would you believe in it?' and I said, 'Uh, I guess. I didn't know what to make of it. I thought, it was, I felt, like I was on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, this family is crazy or something. And my wife who was at the time, my girlfriend, was just sitting next to me and, you know, smiling, like she didn't say anything. Like what the hell is going on here? My mother-in-law popped out of the kitchen. She said, 'Are you talking about the picture of death?' and I'm like, okay, this is getting weird. I am in a foreign country with, you know, people I barely know. I was kind of freaking out and he goes 'Would you like to see a picture of it?' and I said, 'Uh, yeah, I guess.' So he got up and started walking towards the back room, a study he has, and I'm thinking the whole time he's gonna turn around and tell me, I just scaring you, you know, you're going out with my daughter. I'm looking at my girlfriend and I'm thinking, like, should I get out of here, you know, these people are crazy but I just was too nervous to do anything.
Well, you know, had to sit there and he came back and he had these pictures. They were about the size of a postcard, maybe a little bit bigger. He flipped them over so I couldn't see him and he put them on this little coffee table. I remembered like it was yesterday. He flipped them over so I couldn't see them. He goes, 'Before I show you these pictures, I want to explain to you what happened' and he goes, 'What happened was' and I know the story very well now because I've been married to my wife but he, you know, he was like, he worked in drafting, and he had a really good friend who had a camera shop here in Mexico. He called him at his work, he was teaching, he goes, 'Hey, I need you to come and see something.' Actually, the principal of the school told my father-in-law, I need you to come, somebody's calling for you.' And he's like, 'What's going on? Is everything good?' 'I need you to come right now. I need you to look at the picture. What's going on? Just come!' So he went to the camera shop and he said that he had a guy come in and said. 'This is a picture of my brother on his deathbed the night he died and it was,' he said 'Much like a picture from the 40s, maybe 50s and it's a picture of, like, if you were side a room and you're looking inside the room and you look to the left corner in the back, it's a bed with the guy laying on it, with his eyes closed. You can see like a big wooden beam in this big old Mexican house, and there was like a little table of flowers because the guy was sick, obviously, probably from family members. But anyways, and he said that this guy brought the picture in and he goes, 'I want you to restore this picture for me.' It was a like a little passport-sized picture, really small, black and white, and it has, you know how a picture, if you'd bend it, it's a white crease. So he was saying I want you to see if you can do a new picture, same size, but without so many creases in it. The guy said, 'Okay, no problem. I can fix it up.'
He scanned the picture and he blew it up and he said that when he blew it up, you could see at the foot of the bed, the Grim Reaper was waiting for this guy, and I was telling him, 'What are you serious?' He goes, yeah, and he goes on. And I go, 'What did you guys do?' He says, 'Well, my friend called me because he thought he was going crazy or he thought he was seeing things. There's the Grim Reaper.' The guy restored the picture, called the guy back and gave him the original picture and gave him the restored one but of course that's a small size so you can't see anything really. And he just gave the guys his pictures and sent him on his way and they kept the pictures, one in black and white and one where they like put some kind of dye in it so it's kind of like a brownish, light brown color, so you could see it better. They made copies of it for him. The camera guy owner and my father. My father I think had like two or three pictures and the guy never knew.
I said, 'Well, can I see it?' and I swear to you, he flipped the photos over and I saw what I'm telling you, the guy laying on a bed and everything and at the foot of the bed there's a freaking thing floating because there's no legs or anything. There's no connection to the ground but there's a robe, there's a skull head, a little skull head and you look down where the hands are and you see skeletal fingers, ten fingers, holding a stick, and at the top of the stick, there's that that sickle. I swear to God. I know it sounds crazy but I swear on my life this is for real. And it spooked me. It spooked me to the core. I looked at it for maybe two or three seconds which is, two or three seconds is a pretty long time. I just looked away and I couldn't sleep for... I couldn't sleep for days. I kept waking up thinking I was going to see death in my bed and I was stationed on a base in the barracks. I was all by myself in my room and I remember my friends were asking me at work, you know, what's wrong with you? I haven't been able sleep and I told them the story I'm telling you. Of course, they didn't believe me. Young military guys, 'Oh, you're full of crap.' I said, 'Come on over to Mexico' because we're stationed like maybe not even an hour away from the border.
So I had a couple of my friends come and they saw it and one of my friends, when he saw it, he kind of moaned and to this day we still talk about it. I have never seen that picture again. (the host asks him to describe the entity in the image) Well, like I said, I mean, I know you probably don't want to hear the whole thing about the guy laying down and everything but, literally, at his feet, at the foot of his bed, you look down and there's floor. So there's no connection to the ground, and all of a sudden, about, maybe, halfway up to the foot of the bed from the ground, the apparition starts forming. There's no legs or anything. It's just a robe. Then there's no distinguishable beginning of the robe. Like the end of the cloth, I don't know how to explain it, like comes into being, little by little, fades into being, and, like I said, it's a robe, a dark robe. I remember the skull head. There's those skeletal white fingers. Imagine a black-and-white picture and then, almost like an x-ray, and can you see like this skull, like almost like a cartoon or a caricature of what we've been raised to think a cartoon skull looks like or a death skull. Just empty eye sockets, empty nose socket, the teeth, you know, and... just a skull. And then it's got a hood over it. Not over the face, of course, but over where the head be its hair. You see perfectly, a stick, or a piece of wood or something. One hand is lower than the other and it's holding the stick - the stick goes all the way up past his head and then they've got that sickle. I thought I was going mad.”
