Huge Bird Encountered in PA State Game Lands #180

I recently received the following account:

Hi Lon,

This sighting happened this past Friday, May 24th, 2019 of Memorial Day Weekend. It was around noon, and my family and I were driving to our extended family's lakehouse on Lake Wallenpaupack in Pennsylvania. It was a sunny, clear day and we were heading west along Highway 6. This long stretch is heavily wooded and rural on both sides, and at that instance we were driving through State Game Lands Number 180.

I was driving so my eyes were fixed upon the road ahead. There was another car roughly 50 feet in front of us. Then, from the left side of the road, I saw something emerge from the treetops and fly across the road right in front of the other car, so I would say it was about 60-70 feet from my point of view. I got a very good look at it as it crossed in the air, and it had all the features of a bird, except this animal was gigantic. I'm aware and have seen all the different types of birds in the area, the largest ones being bald eagles, hawks, and vultures. I'm also very familiar with all the different types of waterbirds (this did not resemble a waterbird whatsoever). The profile of the flying animal was as long as the car in front of me was wide, which was at minimum six feet. The other car quickly braked as it flew past them obviously astonished by the sight as well. The animal flew over the road and disappeared into the thick forest on the right side of the road.

My wife, who was in the passenger seat, saw it clearly as well and said aloud, "Wow, what's that?!" What we saw was evidently a bird, but an unusually massive one. - Keith in NJ

Gigantic Dragonfly

“It's not a giant bird but me and my younger brother saw a huge dragonfly spanning well over a feet and half long in Bolton, England in 2002. It must have been over an inch in diameter as well at the centre. I would have questioned myself but as it was witnessed by someone else too. I'm pretty sure it wasn't just me seeing things. Sometimes I think was it an RC helicopter? But no way could it move with such swiftness, agility and silence especially with 2002 technology. I went to the Manchester museum and checked with the insect experts and they said it sounds like you've seen something from the prehistoric and that no species of dragonfly that exist today are that large. Has anyone ever seen these massive dragonflies? I would love some confirmation some more witnesses across the world. Cheers people!” Hassan Uddin

Large Bat-Winged Creature in Lebanon, Ohio

I recently received the following information:

Hi,
I don’t know how exactly you guys function but I saw an article about a large black winged creature that flew without flapping its ‘wings’ and I have seen something like that before. It was at my old house, I no longer live there and don't know if it would still be around, but what I saw only came around at night. It was huge and blacker than the night sky. It never really moved, but when I looked away and back again it would be gone.

I am also very convinced I saw a shadow person while I still lived at the old house, though it was only once and I haven't seen one before or since that incident. It walked just like a normal person, but as it moved it gave off black smoke. It had no eyes that I could see, which I have done research on shadow people and know that that is a bit different than what others report. But the experience was overall the same as what is typically reported.

My current house seems to be haunted to some degree though. I've seen what looks like a woman, though only once, but I’ve felt her, or something else, multiple times. I never hear voices and for the most part am left alone, but every once in a while I get a bit more activity than usual. Like something in the basement getting knocked over, but when I go to look for it, nothing is out of place. Or when I was walking through my dining room I felt a strong presence right behind me, on my heels, but when I turned around nothing was there.

I live in Ohio, but the article said something about Illinois. I was really looking for was some advise or insight as to what I may be dealing with or what I was dealing with while at my old residence.

I asked the witness for further information and received the following:

I can't remember the dates very well, but it was less than a year ago. I’d say around September/October of 2018 is when I saw the black winged figure for the last time. I moved in December though, so I have no idea if it would still be there. As for location - Navaho Drive in Lebanon, Ohio. My old neighborhood had a small creek that ran through the backyards. It divided the houses and gave privacy because there were trees too.

What I saw was a big black bat. But it didn't really have any defining features. It was like a silhouette of a bat. It didn't move at all, no flapping its wings, nothing about this thing moved, but the second I took my eyes off it it was gone. LB

Kenosha 'Wolfman'

“I live in Kenosha, Wisconsin were werewolves have been sighted for centuries. I was walking back in May 2017 around 3:00 AM to a girlfriend's house. When I was close to her street, I looked behind a house with an alleyway in the back. I seen, at first, what I thought to be a big deer, but when I looked closer, it was a big humanoid creature bent down sniffing. It turned its head. It was a wolf head. It was big. So I looked even closer. It was a wolf-like man on two legs, bent down. It was huge! I ran down the street because I did not want to get its attention. In my mind, I wanted to go back but something told me not too.” DD

NOTE: There is talk of a wolfman in Kenosha, BTW. Some people have associated it with the Beast of Bray Road even though Kenosha is along Lake Michigan. Lon

Cat Used Up All 9 Lives

"As a child a cat of my sisters was run over by a car in the road out in front of our house. Being the oldest child and dad not home my mother made me go out there and get it out of the road and bury it. I went out there and picked it up. It had been out there all night so rigor mortis had set in and the animal was stiff as a board. I picked it up and put it in a trash bag. Walked back to the garage and set it down to get a shovel. I fooled around a few minutes before going to get the cat in the bag to bury when all of a sudden right when I picked it up the cat started thrashing around inside the bag. I mean going crazy. It scared me to death, a total surprising shock. That cat was dead and stiff, but within minutes this cat was more than alive, it was frantic.. I ripped open the bag and the cat took off like a rocket around the side of the house. It was the craziest thing I’d ever seen, that cat was dead, it’s body was clearly smashed and stiff. My sister was standing there crying over her kitty and she just about crapped her pants screaming when it started moving in that bag...anyway that’s my crazy cat tale. Brent Slack

'Metro' Bigfoot in Chico, CA

I received the following interesting account a while back:

Hello Sir - I found you through a Google search. I also contacted someone local but they never got back to me. Maybe you can explain what I witnessed.

On Sunday December 16th, my wife and I were driving through a residential area in Chico, CA. It was around 11 PM. We had been visiting a friend for the holidays. I'm not very familiar with the area but at the time we were on Vallombrosa Ave. On the left there is a wooded park (Lower Bidwell Park).

We had just driven under the Golden State Highway overpass when suddenly a large dark man-like creature leaped out from the woods onto the road. I quickly stopped the car as my tires screeched on the roadway. This creature was massive and had dark hair all over its body. I don't know how wide the road is but it was across in 3 large leaps. As it reached the north side of the road it turned and look directly at us. My wife was terrified and crouched down in her seat. I caught a brief golden-colored reflection from it's eyes. I hit the excelerator and quickly continued driving.

I had driven about 100 yds or so, then noticed that either this creature was keeping pace with me or that I passed another similar creature on my left side crouched down by the road. I still think that this was another creature because it looked smaller in size than the creature I witnessed previously. By this time I was very concerned and scared. I was hoping that there would be no traffic lights until we reached the turn off to get onto the highway.

I live about 80 miles north of Chico in an area where there have been a few Bigfoot reports, but I have never heard of any in Chico...let alone in a residential location.

I talked to my friend in Chico and he said that there was a sighting in his area back in the 1990s but nothing recent. Most of the sightings in his county (Butte County) have been in an area 30 miles southeast of Chico near Lake Oroville. I checked out the BFRO website and verified what my friend said.

I know that we witnessed something that night and I think that there were more than one of these creatures roaming around. I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks, Jerry

NOTE: I sent an email to Jerry for more detail. He states that the being was definitely similar to Bigfoot descriptions he had seen. He estimated that it was 8 ft. in height and around 500+ lbs. Jerry said he is retired from the military and served in Vietnam, Grenada and Iraq. This is the first time he has seen anything similar to what he witnessed on 12/16. He's not positive what the second being was but is confident that it was a Bigfoot and that it was not the same being he witnessed earlier. I believe that Jerry is sincere in his assessment. Lon

'Pterodactyl' Sightings in New York, Pennsylvania & Maryland

“My wife has told me a story of when she was backpacking around 1988 in the Adirondacks of upstate New York. She said she saw a large flying animal over a small lake. She estimated that it had a 20 foot wingspan. But the weirdest thing was that she said it didn't look like a bird, but rather a featherless reptile like a pterodactyl! It wasn't just gliding around. She said it was beating its wings and was surprisingly very fast. She isn't the kind of woman that makes things up either...very honest. She also said that she wasn't scared of it but more in awe of how large it was.” AC

“I saw this bird in the 70’s. I said to my friend Sherry Ann, 'Look, it’s a pterodactyl.' That was after the fact because of the fear I was speechless. This was so large it flew low over me about 10 feet or so above me. All these years I knew it wasn’t normal but I was around ten. I guess it was night time. We were camping on the water, walking out onto a pier. I live in Maryland. I can’t really remember but I believe we were on the eastern shore. That bird could have picked me up like I was a cat. It was as large as a small plane, a Cessna perhaps, but I tell you it wasn’t a vulture or eagle or anything of that or this time!” WDM

There was a giant pterodactyl flying overhead just above the tops of the trees. I yelled, 'Look at that!' as I pointed up at it. My brothers looked up at it. We then took off running into the house.” D10

“I never told anyone for they would of said I was crazy but delivering morning newspapers in Scarsdale, New York in the late spring of 1962 or 19633 at 5:30 AM, I heard a screech, very loud, and out of the clouds, a huge bird-like creature floated by. It looked like one of those pterodactyls. I never forgot it and I never told any one of it. For what it's worth WTF?” NQ

Experiencer Followed by Insectoid Being

The following account is somewhat similar to Black-Eyed Girl Mutates Into An Insectoid, which I received in November 2017:

“I often wonder if all of us have been abducted at one time or another but only a few of us can remember. I had an odd experience as a child but I can not say I was ever abducted. When I was 4 years old we lived in a small wartime home in Hamilton, Ontario on the, what we call the mountain, but it's an escarpment.

We had the windows open in the house as air conditioners were not common in 1968. It was a very hot that night. I shared a room with my brother and sister. I woke up during the night and looked out the window into the backyard and in front of a bush about 8 feet away was a small thin creature with shiny black skin. It looked like a small girl but at the same time it kinda looked like an insect. It was crouched on its legs and was leaning forward with one hand on the ground and was looking at me. It had what looked like thin antennas or like needles sticking out from each side of its head and one on top. That's all I remember and when I told my mom she said it was a dream.

We moved to Caledonia to a large house in 1972. I now slept in my own room on the second floor. My dad and I did a project where we made a crystal radio. Some people may remember this kit from Radio Shack. I woke up one night in the summer with the windows were open and I looked down into the backyard. I saw the antenna for my radio stretched across the yard but below that there it was again on the edge of the grass crouched down next to the patio under my window. Again my mother said it was a dream.

A few years later we moved again so my dad did not have to go far for work to Stoney Creek, Ontario. I was now about 15 years old and I got up in the night and looked out my window and saw it again crouched on the edge of the sidewalk and on the grass in the front of the house. This time I went outside to look and it was there. I walked to the sidewalk and it did not make any noise. It just looked at me. It was all black with large black eyes. I then remember waking up and don't remember going back inside. I wrote it off to a dream.

Many years later, I am not sure these were just dreams. There was an article where a UFO crashed in either Mexico or South America and the sketches the people made looked like my dream creature with out the antenna and the pictures showed red eyes not black. The red eyes may just have been to jazz up the story. Makes me think though. Anyone else have anything like this one.” RC

USO Calls Out Eyewitness' Name

“About 4 years ago (2015) me and my aunt were swimming in the lake of Lake Chelan (in Washington) or however you spell that. Anyway, out of nowhere, I looked down and saw a blue lift emerging from the water right under me. I freaked out and swam to my aunt and she saw it too. Out of nowhere, it disappeared and about two hours later, when we were on the beach chairs, I saw the same looking light in the sky. No joke. I shoved me aunt's shoulder but she was already looking at it. It hurt my eyes to look at it but she was just motionless not blinking. I finally got her attention and she told me that it sounded like it was calling her name over and over again. She could have just been paranoid and made the sounds in her head but I know what I saw in the water and in the sky and I don’t like it.” GMV

Strange Reaction to UFO Encounter

“I am from Utah. I live just over an hour from Duchene, between where I live and Duchene its just massive mountains and desert. My town is small and high in the eastern mountain area. In 2013, my two daughters and I were walking back from the park and my oldest daughter says. 'Mom, what is that!?' She points up to the sky and sitting there in the sky is a HUGE object. It was silent, no lights. As soon as my eyes were locked on it, I felt deaf, like I couldn't hear any normal sounds that were around us. My youngest daughter pulls on my sleeve and I look down and she has thrown up on herself. We just stood there in silence for a good minute. All the sudden. I could hear the birds, cars, dogs barking in the distance just like before. That thing took off SO FAST, there was a huge mountain right in front of it, it should have crashed into it but it didn't, it just disappeared. It was a long dark brown/red color, no windows, holes or lights. We ran home and stayed there the rest of the day." Jenn Jeffs

Giant 'Bird Man' in Auburn, Illinois

I recently received the following account:

Lon - about 15 years ago my son, who was about 12, told me a story one day after I picked him up from his after school friend's house. They lived right by a creek and the boys always walked down the road to the creek to play in it.

One afternoon about 3:30- 4 o'clock, when the sun is still high in the sky but starting its decent so it was a little blinding in their eyes. They were walking down the road to the bridge over the creek when they noticed a man standing on the road. Now this is from the mouth of a 12-year-old. He said this man was just standing there, looked like he was all in black and he said it looked like the man didn’t have a neck. They were a little puzzled but kept walking toward it. He said that is when it opened up its “arms” straight out and it appeared to have wings. At that time, he said it just flapped them one time, like his arms went down one time and he said it took off straight up in the air. They tried to see where it went but said the sun was in his eyes.

I didn’t know what to think at the time but just dismissed it as young boys and their stories. When I started working nights, about 11 years ago, I started listening to Coast to Coast AM and realized he had possible seen the “Mothman”.

Then he told me, when he was in his early twenties, he was hanging out with some friends from a surrounding small town. They were telling stories and one of the guys started talking about seeing this giant flying 'bird man.' This is the very same area where my son saw it. They were both excited to meet someone else that had see what they had.

This occurred near Panther Creek on Curran Rd. in Auburn, Illinois. CB

'Laughing Deer' in West Virginia

“A friend of mine was once turkey hunting with his nephew in eastern West Virginia. They were sitting on the edge of a clearing, with small patches of brush (a little over waist-high) that dotted throughout the field. They were sitting behind one of these little patches of brush, along the tree-line, and weren't having any luck - as they didn't see or even hear any turkey that day. Anyways, after waiting for several hours (now late afternoon) my buddy's nephew had fallen asleep, when they both heard a lot of rustling in the brush not far from their position. After several seconds, they realized that it couldn't be turkey, as whatever was making this noise in the brush; was much too large to be turkey. Apparently, they both became a bit nervous, until a deer broke through the brush and my buddy (comforting his nephew) said: "look, it's just a deer"! This deer (which he was not starting to realize looked "odd") apparently turned it's head to look at them, laughed, and ran off. Yes, he said it laughed like a person and ran off, after which my friend and his nephew promptly left. I'm sure that I'm not doing the story justice” J. Gona

Transparent Triangular UFO

“My mom and I were driving at 3:00 in the morning in Massachusetts in my small town. We were driving over a hill, not necessarily a mountain because it’s a bit smaller, but anyways there is a large clearing of no trees where you can see most of the sky. As we were driving over it, we saw a huge triangle shaped transparent object in the sky. It had a white light on each point of the triangle shape. It was so close above us, and it started going further up (vertically) rather than further away (horizontally) if that makes any sense. It was so slow at first, and as soon as we pulled over to get a better look, it darted across the sky and was gone within two seconds. It WAS NOT a plane. I still remember it to this day. The sky was so clear, and a dark blue. It was incredible and I didn’t believe in any of that stuff until I saw it with my own eyes.” Andrea ESKETIT

'I assumed that this was Jeepers Creepers'

“I just recently started doing my research on this individual called "The Hat Man". I'm 20 now and I encountered this individual when I was 7 years old (2004) one hot summer night in Palmdale, California. To be completely honest with you over the years even with such a traumatic experience at the time the memory of what happened has become faint especially at this age. At the time a movie came out by the name of Jeepers Creepers and the night of was my first time seeing the movie and just like any other child at that age when I saw this individual because of the trench coat and black brimmed hat, I assumed that this was Jeepers Creepers himself (note that there is a sequel to the movie where Jeepers reveals his true self but in the first one, the one that I'm talking about, he had this trench coat on with this brimmed hat setup) so me being the kid with the imagination that I had, I explained to my parents that this person looked like Jeepers Creepers. Of course, since I was only a child, my mother told me to stop watching horror films but I honestly knew that this individual was certainly not Jeepers Creepers. I knew he was something else for him to come at the time of night that he did and to have a malicious vibe about him.” Sundra Phillips

Red Eyed 'Smoke Man'

“In 1984 or 1985, I was around 8 or 9 years old. It was right in the afternoon like around 3:00 PM, I just had got out from school. I was in the kitchen and from the kitchen I could see my living room. In the living room, I saw two times the same Shadow Man with the hat and stretch coat and he looked like a person but made of a gray smoke. This was in Mexico in 1984 or 1985. He walked right into the wall but by the time he touched the wall, his body turn to smoke and he was floating in the air. You could see past his body. His body was transparent. And a week later. His eyes were watching from my bedroom window. And his eyes glowed red, like, fire red.” Anonymous

Hat Man Encounter

“My cousin and I saw the Hat Man when we were driving down an alley, in a raining downpour at night. He walked past the truck, and we knew something evil was in our presence. All we could see was that hat and a cape or trench coat. As he walked past the car down the alley with his scary silhouette that we could see through the trucks rear window. That was in 1973. I was a kid then, for some reason he made me think of Jack the Ripper. or what he might have looked like.” Zane Blackwell
