Bigfoot in the Badger State

Here are a few Bigfoot encounter reports from eyewitnesses in Wisconsin:

Bigfoot Duo Reported at Nelson Lake, Wisconsin

I am writing about a sighting I had on June 26th around 8:00 pm at Nelson Lake, Wisconsin. I was fishing from my canoe about 30 yds. from the shore near Tanning Point when I noticed a whimpering sound. It was coming from the woods at the shoreline. It sounded like a dog whining, so I stopped what I was doing to watch the woods to see if anything appeared. After a few seconds I saw a child scampering from the woods. I didn't get a very good look but the child had very thick brown hair all over its body and was very small (human toddler size). It quickly showed itself then bolted back towards the woods.

I sat there in shock. But within seconds I heard three distinct and angry 'grunts'. I then saw a large ape-like head rise above the lower tree boughs. The eyes were barely visible but I could tell that it didn't want me there. That was enough for me so I started to paddle towards the north shore when all of a sudden I heard a loud 'plop' then 'splash' from behind the boat. I turned around in time to see another rock heading in my direction. It was many yds. from me but I got the message.

I was shaking from the time I witnessed these beasts up until a few hours later when I was in my home office pondering what I had seen. I think it may have been Bigfoot. I Googled 'Wisconsin Bigfoot' and your blog came up. Was this a Bigfoot? I'm not an outdoorsman though I enjoy canoeing and fishing. Have there been other sightings in this area? Is there a danger? I appreciate your help.

I am a state employee so I would prefer my identify remain confidential. Thank you.

The following incident was in the same area:

Seeley, Wisconsin Bigfoot Buzz

According to the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Department, two deputies responded to an alleged Bigfoot, or Sasquatch, sighting on Highway 63 just south of Seeley on the evening of Jan. 3.

Since then the sighting has been the topic of conversation in that small community, with multiple reported sightings being called in to the Sawyer County Record office since.

Chief Deputy Tim Zeigle confirmed that two deputies responded to the call, only to find footprints and hair at the site. But “unless Bigfoot was wearing boots,” Zeigle laughed, “I think it’s pretty much a prank.

“A lady called in and said ‘You probably think I’m nuts, but I’m not … I have not been drinking.’ She reported seeing a Bigfoot or someone dressed in an ape suit on Highway 63 near Stark Road,” Zeigle said. “We sent a couple officers up there and what they found was a set of foot tracks going from the road to the timberline and back to the road and they also found a long, black hair.” He affirmed that there have been no sightings since then.

But the story takes a curious turn from there.

According to another reported sighting obtained by the Record, a Wausau man, who wishes to remain unnamed, and his nephew were snowmobiling on a trail just southwest of Seeley when they saw something unusual cross the trail.

“I don’t know what I saw, but my nephew and I both saw something very real,” he said. “We only saw legs from the hips down as it was caught in the headlights of our snowmobiles. It stepped out of the woods, walking upright, and stepped across the trail right in front of my nephew who was ahead of me 20-30 feet.

“The legs were long (and) covered with long dark hair,” he continued. “My first thought was it was a drunk walking through the woods after leaving the Sawmill Saloon, but that makes no sense. We were quite a ways west of the Sawmill and there is no trail or crossing anywhere near there for someone to be walking.”

After gunning their snowmobiles past, the two turned around to explore the area and find tracks. But they had not marked the spot with a landmark and were unsuccessful at finding any sign when they returned to the area.

“We saw these legs for only a very brief moment, but again, it was very real,” he added.

Following up on the sighting, a number of possible theories have been revealed.

Cindy Ferraro of the Sawmill Saloon said that one potential explanation is that something was roused when the managed portion of the Uhrenholdt Memorial Forest south of Highway OO was cleaned up a few months ago. She said a friend who lives in the Seeley Hills area has reported unusual behavior coming from her dogs lately; they seem to be agitated by something out of the ordinary.

'Swamp Monster' - Near Dyer Lake, Wisconsin

I am writing about something that happened to me about 20 years ago.

I live in a small lake area called Bohners Lake, just outside of Burlington, Wisconsin. At the time of this tale I lived on the opposite side of the lake of where I live now about a half mile away from a boy scout camp called Camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta. This camp encompasses 185 acres of beautiful rolling hills and woodlands on Dyer Lake.

It was a beautiful summer day and I decided to take a walk with my dogs, a Golden Retriever and English Setter. I went a different way than usual and happened upon the back trail to the camp. It was chained off, but I chanced it anyway and hopped over to check it out.

The trail was very quiet and peaceful and we walked a while enjoying ourselves greatly. After a bit we came upon some buildings. One was a large pole barn type that had it's doors chained shut. Curiosity overtook me, as usual, and I went up and pushed on one of the large doors allowing a crack of about 6 inches. I tried peering inside and couldn't see much but a floor and empty space.

I was shocked when an earsplitting roar came out of the barn. It sounded like a scream but deep, guttural and bearlike.

Well, my dogs took off running, and I took off running after them terrified. We ran back to my house and, shaking like a leaf and out of breath, I told my (now ex) husband what had happened. He of course told me that what I had heard was a crane........ I just stared at him incredulously. I knew better, but I wasn't going to argue the point with him and just pondered on it for a bit by myself, attempting to calm down.

The day went on and nothing else was said about it until just after dark when we both heard the same scream coming from the back yard!

The house I lived in at the time had a huge back yard. At the very back we had a garden by a small wooded area, and it was from there that we heard the scream. Well, my ex grabbed his rifle, and the dogs and headed down to the garden finding nothing.

He came back to the house, eyes wide, and acknowledged that what I had heard was not a crane.

After that we went about our night talking about it, with the dogs nervously prancing about, and eventually went to bed.

Being summer, the bedroom windows were open and about 3 am, I was shocked awake when "it" was just outside the window and screamed into it. The dogs didn't even bark, they just cowered, whining.

My husband again jumped up and grabbed the rifle and went outside, without the dogs as they didn't want to have anything to do with it, to investigate...again nothing.

Well the story would end here as we didn't hear anything after that, and I was too scared to investigate the building again, but it just happened that about 3 weeks later my husband and I went away for the weekend on a camping trip and my mother, younger sister, and her two daughters spent the night at our house to watch the dogs while we were gone.

The following morning my sister was in the kitchen cooking breakfast when my niece Sandra came in. She looked at the kitchen window and noticed a long smear mark on the kitchen window.

She was about 9 at the time and looked up at my sister and said, " I know what did that." My sister looked at it and asked Sandra what she thought made it.

Sandra replied, " Ooooo, it was the Swamp Monster"... My sister chuckled and asked her why she thought that.

Now, I was always teasing the girls with stories about a swamp monster that lived out by me so they just knew that there was a creature out there. This of course was before my own experience and it wasn't cute and funny anymore.

Then she said, "I saw the Swamp Monster last night."

My sister said chuckling still, "Oooooo, what did you see?"

Sandra just looked at her and said, "I saw a huge white hairy arm and it ran it's claws across the bedroom screen." (my bedroom)

My sister said, "Wow, what did you do?"

Sandra said, "Aw, I just rolled over and went to sleep, I knew it was Aunt Tina trying to scare me."

Of course, we were camping.

So, what did she see? I haven't a clue to this day. But I wonder, were they keeping something out there, or was there something living in that barn unbeknownst to them at the camp and did it follow me home?

Last summer my brother, sister-in-law and I tried going back there, but we got stopped by the person living across the road before we could go across the chain that is still there.

One more thing about that camp. Before this situation, a group of us had gone in the front entrance to the camp by car to check out Dyer Lake that is at the center edge of the camp hoping to sneak in some late night swimming. This was of course after dark and we of course were not supposed to be there.

We arrived at the trail to the lake and got out of the car with our flashlights to walk. We tried following the trail but ended up going off somewhere along the line. We went over a hillside and there, at the bottom of the hill was a beautiful raw iron gate about 6' tall. There was a hole dug into the side of the hill, and this gate was covering the opening.

We opened the gate, and found ourselves in a 12'x12' cave of sorts. Inside were candles, a dead rooster, and a sythe. There was nothing else. No altar or other signs of occult practices, just the things we found haphazardly laying about the room. My sister's now ex-husband took the sythe (which I told him to leave there) and we left and never went back. That is until I went for my walk that summer day.

The 'Hat Man' & Shadow People

“I saw him, The Hat Man, once when I was around 5 years old (1970). I was spending the night at my grandparents. This is the first time my story is going public. I'm 53 years old now. Okay, I always slept with my Grandma in her room. My Grandpa was in the next room. All of a sudden I see a tall man with a cowboy hat on like in Westerns. It was really dark in the room put the person was darker than the night. It was a tall figure. Remember I was around five. It stood next to the bed where my Grandma was at I thought it was my Grandpa. These are my exact words I spoke that night: 'Grandpa, I see you. I see your hat.' My Grandpa wore a cowboy hat and he was tall but this man said nothing. He just stood there. Then my Grandma said, 'Who are you talking to?' I said, 'Grandpa, he's right there by you.' She said, 'There's no one there.' I said, 'Yes, there is. It's Papa.' So she reaches under the bed and grabs the flashlight and turns it on. It's not there anymore. She could not see it. As soon as she turned flashlight off, there it was. Now I'm scared. I grabbed the flashlight and pointed it at the man. It was gone. My Grandma took flashlight away from me and said, 'Go to sleep.' And there he was again. She could not see it. It then slowly, I mean very slowly, started moving. Not walking but moving without taking steps going around the bed to my side which was where our heads were, not my feet. The foot of the bed was against the wall. At least 10 or 20 minutes had passed, I couldn't tell the time then but now that's what a figured, and I put my head under the covers. I was saying, 'Grandma, turn the light on. It's coming over to my side.' All I could do was put the blanket over my head. I don't know how long I stayed awake that night but I did fall asleep and when I woke up, it was almost daylight, still dark, but light enough to see the wallpaper on the wall. I turned to look at Grandma. She's not in the bed. She was cooking breakfast for my Grandpa and making his lunch. I was alone and terrified. The door to the kitchen was closed, and then you won't believe what happened... I saw him and saw one with a hoodie on. R

-----

“I was eleven in 1972. I lived in Sacramento, California when I saw a Shadow Man quite a few times, always while in my bedroom. After we moved away I never saw it again. It didn't have a hat. But it was very clearly defined it was an absolutely dark figure that I caught with the corner of my eye. Every time that I tried to look directly at it, it pulled back and disappeared unbelievably quick. I was never worried or scared of it, but I have never forgotten it.” DB

-----

“There was some celebrity that described this exact being on 'Celebrity Ghost Stories'. It was a woman, but I forgot her name. I will try to find it and if possible, send you the hyper-link. The reason I remember this story on TV is because I had seen something in my bedroom two nights in a row about two years ago (2011). It was very tall (maybe 7 feet tall) and it was standing by the side of my bed, black hooded. I turned over in bed, very much awake, and that's when I saw it. I was terrified. I was too afraid to keep looking, so I looked the other way and reached for the light. When I looked back, it was gone. It did not have a black hat. As I said, it was very tall and had a black hood covering over its entire being / body? I could not see a face at all. This was not sleep paralysis, as I could move. I was also wide awake. I have insomnia.” JL

Close Giant Bird Encounter in Colorado

“I can personally attest that giant birds do exist. I have seen one at a close up distance of about 20 yards. It was at least four feet tall, although I could only see its feet up to it's shoulders as its head was behind a tree branch from where I stood on a path to where it sat at a stream crossing the path in front of me. I froze solid, totally unable to move. It sensed me, it took off, and the wingspan was literally 25 feet and 3 feet in depth. I thought if it turned on me, I was dead, but it did not turn down on me. I only glimpsed the wings momentarily and then it was completely gone in the densely treed area I was in. I was on a hillside path here in Colorado and it sat originally uphill from me. From the difficulty it had in taking off I reckon it was impossible for it to turn on me and attack, especially with all the trees in the way. The sound of the wings was incredibly loud and to tell the truth, unearthly, a 'whoosh' sound while it got going - something I will never, ever forget.

I was a carpenter for two decades and can tell you lengths very accurately on any length of material. This thing was 40 pounds at least. I have also seen Golden Eagles myself with 9 to 12 foot wingspans, standing 3 feet tall in Colorado. Those Golden Eagles can pick goats up off a cliff-side and carry them off under their own flapping power. The scientists are lying about the carrying power of large raptors in this video. There are youtube videos of Golden Eagles taking goats off and up. These giant birds are out there, very very elusive , but very very real.” RS

Man Witnesses Spectre of Girlfriend's Deceased Father

“I was a skeptic, believe me. About a decade ago my girlfriend's father had passed away. We went to the funeral and afterwards she wasn't doing well, understandably, so I went back to her house with her. She wanted to be alone for a moment so she went to lie down on her bed and I sat in the living room on the couch in case she needed me. I saw her father for a brief few seconds standing next to the hallway entrance. She had beads there hanging instead of a door and he was standing there with his arm extended like he was confused about it. He wasn't looking at me at all. It was just a few seconds and then he was gone. I never ever told her about it because I didn't want to upset her, of course. Maybe my mind was tricking me. Believe me, I have thought that. All I know is that it happened.

If you are interested there is a little I didn't say in the story above because it was long but when her father died, it was very sudden and unexpected. His heart burst and he dropped in his backyard. I am no expert, just a person retelling an experience but I truly feel that those few seconds I saw him he didn't realize that he was gone and couldn't figure out what was going on. It was brief but I will never forget the confused look on his face. Honestly, it left me with a pretty sad feeling for awhile. Just for those few seconds when I saw him he wasn't looking at me but I could see his face and he was not happy. He looked very confused or upset. Not to sound girly but after it happened, my eyes were watering. I don't see the girl seriously anymore but we remain friends. There have been a couple times I have thought I will tell her about it but I never did.” b242

Upright Canine Encounter - Hidden Valley Lake, Indiana

I recently came across the following account:

This is basically a "Beast of Bray Road" type sighting, but it happened in southern Indiana, far from Bray Road. I'm wondering if anyone else has had (or heard of) sightings in the same area. For the record, this is NOT a werewolf story. What I saw was an animal, not a shapeshifter. I know "the beast" is often called a werewolf, but I don't buy that explanation.

My sighting happened between 1992-1995 because I only lived in the area during that time. My best guess is that it was 1992-1993 because I was coming home late at night (around 1-2am) without my then-fiance, and she would have been with me after 1993.

The sighting happened on State Line Road, just off Route 50 in southern Indiana/Ohio, right by Hidden Valley Lake. You can see on Google maps that the area is still pretty wooded, even 25 years later. The usual caveats apply: I had not been drinking and I wasn't on drugs.

I had just turned into State Line Road from Route 50 and I saw a large animal in the road. It looked like a huge dog hunched over roadkill. As I neared it, I began to suspect it was one of my neighbor's dogs -- he had two Irish wolfhounds. If you don't know, those are huge dogs that stand about three-foot at the shoulders. I assumed one of them had got out.

By this time I was slowing down because the animal didn't seem aware of my car and I was about 30 yards away. I was starting to plan how I was going to get a dog that big into my car so I could drive it home, and also wondering if wolfhounds were typically dangerous to approach. I was also trying to figure out if I should wake the neighbors up or just try and tie the dog up outside or something.

As my mind raced through these thoughts (this all happened in just a few seconds) the animal finally turned and looked at my car, so I stopped the car completely. Its face looked more like the shape of a police dog's than a wolfhound, and that threw me. I remember wondering why my neighbor's dog looked so strange. And then the animal simply stood up on two legs and calmly walked off to the west, into the tall grass off the road. My mind at this point was still trying to reconcile how this was my neighbor's wolfhound. I literally thought he had trained his dogs to walk on two legs and had never told us!

Then it started to sink in: The shape of the head was wrong, the build of the dog was too muscular, and it walked like a human not a circus dog. My mind looped back to that, of course: It had walked off like a human on two legs. And its gaze had lingered on me as if its attitude was telling me, "I didn't have to move, you know."

The fur was long and shaggy and gray, although in the darkness I could have misjudged the color and my mind filled it in with the color I was expecting to see on my neighbor's wolfhound. I watched it walk -- still casually -- until it was swallowed by the shadows and trees on the other side of the small field.

I was terrified to drive the rest of the way home. I never mentioned it to anyone, but in the morning I asked my mom if the neighbor's dogs had got out, and when she asked why I wanted to know, I just said I thought I'd seen one. But both dogs were accounted for and neither had got out. Then, about 10 years later, I heard Linda Godfrey on Coast to Coast talking about the Beast of Bray Road, and I was like, "That's exactly what I saw." It was even the same time period as the original Bray Road flap. With that confirmation, I finally started to tell people about it to see if anyone else had seen anything like it -- no one had, of course.

So that's my story. Are there historical sightings of "the beast" in the southern Indiana/Ohio state-line area? GL

NOTE: I'd be interested to read / hear any similar accounts. Thanks. Lon

New Zealand 'Sheep Killer' Mystery

Hi Lon,

I noticed this Fortean story in an 1895 Australian newspaper that suggests a cryptid predator is/was lurking in the wilds of New Zealand.

The incident occurred near Pahantanui (Pauatahanui), a coastal village 32 km (20 mi) north of the capital Wellington, N.I. Farmers reported something was killing their sheep with a single puncture wound behind one ear and no other injury. The culprit is given as the stoat.

Stoats, weasels and ferrets were introduced to NZ, to control rabbits, in the 1880’s, and stoats went on to become a pest too. They can kill prey much larger than themselves, rabbits, fairy penguins etc, by wrapping their bodies around the neck and biting, but can they actually kill sheep? I found no evidence for this online, and one official report called ‘Stoat (Mustela erminea) risk assessment for Australia’ by Amanda Page, Win Kirkpatrick and Marion Massam, July 2008, advises that as predators they are a zero threat to sheep but may spread certain diseases.

Dogs were ruled out and foxes were not introduced to NZ, what was murdering the sheep?

Was it the ‘New Zealand panther’?

Flying Being Observed in Bolton, Ontario

“Summer of 1992 me and two other friends were driving late at night out on a country road in Bolton, Ontario in my friends pickup. We didn’t see red eyes but something with a wingspan about 12 feet wide swooped right in front of the truck's windshield and over us leaving me and my buddies just stunned and looking at each other. The next summer, at the exact intersection we saw this thing, a huge car wrecked happened that hurt a bunch of people and claimed one of our friends. True story, no reason to lie and not saying it was Mothman but we did see something that was too big to be a bird, it did fly and was not scared to fly in front of a big pickup truck. I will never forget it or the death of my buddy. JM

Horse-Headed Humanoid Confronted in Glenview, Illinois

“I guess I'll tell you my once ever encounter? So in 1972, in the fall, I did a sleepover at a friend's house on the edge of Glenview, Illinois. We had the house to ourselves as my friend Pete's parents were out for dinner. Their house was along the edge of forest preserve land along the Des Plaines river. They had a row of tall bushes along the back of their property and on the other side was the forest and about a half mile or less, the river.

It was a Friday night and we had been watching a horror movie on a local station waiting for his parents to get home. We were in a ground level family room with a large sliding glass door. They had a floodlight above the door, which was on, and both white sheer curtains and heavier drapes. These were partially open, but the sheer curtains were closed. The movie had ended, and it was after 11:00 and we were expecting his parents home soon. A large shadow moved in front of the sliding glass door, which scared us but Pete said it was probably his older brother, who was still living at home but out with his girlfriend and was trying to scare us. We thought we could scare or startle him ourselves and grabbed our glasses with soda and ice to throw at him, got ourselves on either side of the drapes and pulled the shears back quick to open the sliding door and throw our drinks at him. So, we did pull back the drapes and immediately froze, totally shocked by what we saw.

The creature was standing about 3 or 4 feet back and was taller than the door looking down towards the window. It was humanoid, with dark reddish-brown skin and short fur from the midsection of the body down. Muscular, ridiculously strong looking arms with big hands, also skin and no fur that I can remember. I don't remember any details of the hands, just that they were big. But the head and face, I will never forget that. Makes me sweat still today. It was a horse's head, with yellow eyes. Square teeth, but the mouth was longer, like the jaw hinges went further back then a true horse. I couldn't ream or talk or anything. Neither did Pete. I couldn't move. Pete let go of the shear and the thing bent down, bringing it's face closer and then I finally let go of my half of the curtain shear and we both yelled and ran into the kitchen, grabbing kitchen knives and hiding under the kitchen table.

About 5 minutes passed, or so it seemed and then we heard the garage open. It was his parents returning. We told them what happened, we were freaked out and while I didn't think they believed us, Pete's dad grabbed a flashlight and a baseball bat and checked the yard. We watched from the kitchen window, which faced into the back yard. He came in after about 20 minutes and said there was nothing out there now, but he had found tracks between two of the bushes.

The next morning, he showed us the spot and there was one mostly intact track that was long and kind of narrow, with what looked like a big toe and another pad? As if all the remaining toes were one piece. All I know is that if that was a costume, it was the best I've ever seen. It wasn't his brother, as he had stayed with his girlfriend overnight. And Pete's dad was pretty shook up, telling us later that he had heard strange noises in the woods when he had gone to investigate. I still live in the area, but I have never gone back. Even writing about this gives me the creeps. Whatever that was, it was real, and Pete and I have reviewed this many times. Thanks for listening, my only weird experience.” AOF

NOTE: Reminds me of the Tikbalang, the Demon Horse. I have heard and read of similar sightings throughout the US...notwithstanding, the Jersey Devil and other supernatural entities. Lon

Unknown Creature Outside My House

Now what I saw is kind of hard to describe so I will do my best. Okay so I was in my house (California), it was late one night I got up to get some water. I heard this weird noise, brushed it off as it might have been a car driving by. However as time went on, I had this weird unshakable urge to go outside with my flashlight. I'd say about 20 minutes at least I waited outside looking into my log cabin magazine. I had nothing better to do, so I sat outside on the deck for maybe 10 more minutes. Heard this noise, I got scared and jumped. Didn't see it right away but when I did I almost soiled myself.

I proceeded to shine my flashlight all around, what I saw was burnt orange in color, its ribs were showing but it also looked very bloated. It had nubs where it's arms would be. It had long skinny legs. Now the next part I will never get out of my head. What I thought to be teeth at first glance turned out to be several long single strands of white hairs sticking out from its mouth. Inside its mouth was a very pale purple color, no tongue, no teeth, just looked hallow, its mouth was big and wide. It had its mouth open the whole time (I think), It also looked like it had no saliva. It did not make any noises. it had some kind of goiter on its neck. I forgot to add it had lighter speckles throughout its whole body and on the back of it's head was a big black patch with a few small white dots.

Now before anyone says anything I don't drink, I don't do drugs, I wasn't that tired when I saw this thing. I'm still confused to this day. I just stared at it for a few quick seconds as it approached me too scared to move and then it ran off when I got up from where I was sitting. Ironically It ran so fast like it was scared of me. JW

Werewolf In My Room?

“When I was about 4 or 5 years old, I was lying in my bed and I remember clearly, a very large dogman I guess you would call it walking into my room, standing over me, beside my bed and picking up my arm and biting it - and then nothing. This never seemed like a dream, I remember it so clearly. I remember my mom and her boyfriend were still awake (we lived in a trailer and their room was at the end of the hall and mine was the last door on the right) so I could hear them talking and I could see the light from their bedside lamp glowing off the hallway wall right outside my bedroom door. When I got older I assumed it had to have been a dream, until I heard of dogmen and saw drawings that looked just like what I saw that night. It was like an abnormally tall, large man with a dogs head. The closest thing I've ever found - and the picture that made me believe this is a memory, not a dream - is a painting of dogmen wearing long robes and satchels, carrying large baskets with a castle in the background. Every other depiction looks like a werewolf, but it looked nothing like a wolf. It looked like a man with a domesticated dogs head - like a cross between a Beagle and a Weimaraner. I remember clearly trying to scream but nothing coming out and then him lifting my arm to his mouth and putting my forearm in his teeth - but no pain. It's like that is when I blacked out. I'd love to go under hypnosis and see if I can remember more.” CJ

Bigfoot Encounter While Hunting in Eastern Kansas

The following report was forwarded to me several years ago. Since this was a Bigfoot report from Kansas, it piqued my interest. I don't believed I have received any further reports from that state:

When I was in high school, my uncle and I would hunt deer and turkey in eastern Kansas. In 1999 we were near the Marais Des Cygnes Refuge bow hunting for deer in a swampy woodland area. We had been in the same location before and familiar with the layout. Both of us had portable tree stands overlooking the bottom land.

We had been in our stands for about an hour, it was early morning but I don't remember the time. My uncle was to the right of me about 50 yards, so we could both see anything moving below. I heard splashing from his direction and notice him waving at me. The splashing was getting louder. I first thought it may be a small herd of deer moving my way. As I looked through the thickets, I noticed something tall and bulky standing beside a tree. I then saw something similar a few feet away from the other figure. I looked over at my uncle. He was crouched down and still. The two figures started to move towards me. Then one worked it's way into a clearing and I was able to get a good look. It was definitely a Bigfoot and it was huge. It was around 8 ft tall and covered head to toe in matted muddy dark hair. It was reaching into the water and putting whatever it found in it's mouth. I didn't see the other Bigfoot. It must have moved off in the other direction.

I was as still as possible, though I was shaking. This Bigfoot was no more than 100 ft from me though I was 12 foot in the tree. I must have watched it for 10 minutes or so as it waded through the water eating whatever it pulled out. It eventually walked away from us towards the woods on the opposite rise. My uncle and I looked at each other, but didn't make a sound. I was ready to get out of there but he remained in his stand holding his hand palm out to let me know to hang on. I wasn't even thinking about hunting deer any further that day.

About 15-20 minutes had gone by. My uncle started moving off his stand. I did the same, dropping the ladder and climbing down. We walked towards each other and agreed to come back for the stands later. In fact, I didn't go back. That afternoon, my dad and grandfather went back with my uncle to look around and retrieve the stands. Both of them believed we saw the Bigfoot. My grandfather said he believes they were eating freshwater mussels and snails.

I never went back to that area, though I still hunt. That was the only time I have ever seen anything like that. I'd be interested to know of other witness sightings in eastern Kansas and western Missouri. I've heard many stories but nothing recent. Chad

NOTE: I made contact with Chad right after I received his report. His story seemed credible and he agreed to let me publish it. He no longer lives in Kansas, but has gone back to hunt for deer and turkey. Lon

Upright Canine 'Pack' Observed in Clermont County, Ohio

“Back in 1989, I saw four huge black dog looking creatures running across a field. They stopped midfield and then stood up on their back legs. They then ran the rest of the way across the field on their hind legs at a very fast rate. This was in Goshen, Ohio.” J

NOTE: The above post was a comment for a video on YouTube. I went back over my files and found a similar sighting in the same area of Ohio (Clermont County) around the same time period. This report was sent by another witness at the time. I believe that there were other witnesses, according to a note attached to the report. I'd like to know if there were other witnesses so that I can follow up with these reports. Thanks. Lon

Strange Things in Haunted House

“Okay thank you it’s not as crazy as some of the other stories, for as long as I remember, weird “ghostly” things have been happening, not so much today besides hearing things, my pets behaving strange, and a general fear of certain areas, windows or this shed I had in my old house. When I was around 6 or 7 I had this doll house and Smurf figurines I would usually play with. One day I positioned them all throughout the dollhouse as if the figurines were living their own lives in it. One of them, I wish I could remember which one, was positioned by the staircase of the doll house and in three loud deliberate movements, it jumped three times up the staircase of the dollhouse positioning itself perfectly so it’s facing out the window of it. I immediately started crying to my mom, she was with me and saw it too. I told her right away to throw out all of the figurines. I pleaded to her to put them all in a bag and watch as she threw them all out into the garbage outside so I’d never have to see them again and make sure they’re gone. My mom would always tell me when I was younger, as a joke, because I loved the Smurfs, they came to life at night and hid out in mushrooms, like in the show. That’s what I assumed was happening because I was so young, but it instilled fear in me I’ll never forget. Another thing, one night not many years after that happened, I woke up to a literal white apparition of a kid balancing on the end of my couch. I was horrified, so immediately I turned around under my covers to go back to bed. I couldn’t look back up till I fell asleep again. Again another thing worth mentioning, when I was around 16 my friends and I used to make songs for fun mostly joking around, it was in that shed I mentioned earlier that I was scared of, we recorded an entire song. It was all on my friends laptop but when we went to open it everything was erased without anyone doing anything. There was just one phrase left we all couldn’t believe it one of my friends said “God isn’t real so get ready” and that was somehow the only thing left of the song. Just those words as if someone spliced the recording and just left that one phrase. I remember my friends leaving because they were scared to be at my house and one of them said before he left I'm reading a verse out of the Bible when I get home. Nothing happened since. Just like I said, my pets will act weird. Like on random occasions my dog, who would never bark, I literally mean never bark at anyone or anything, would start barking at the front windows of my house with nothing there and literally run around going crazy at just that one spot I cant like say what it is, otherwise I’d say I wanna give you details about what I think. I’d also wanna format it more like a story if you’re interested. I have more things that happened but this is dragging on. Again not as interesting but to me worth mentioning or talking about.” LK

Bat-Winged Humanoid and Minions Appear in Bedroom

The following odd account was recently forwarded to me:

"It was a very hot still night (upper 90's, no wind) in the mid 1970's. My windows were full open, and I'm sweating bullets. I'm laying on top of my sheets, twisting around to try to find cooler spots on the bed and I stuck my head as close to the screen in the window as I could praying for a breeze, or at least asking very strongly. I turn here, shuffle there and by now I've been in bed for almost two hours with no relief.

On the north wall of my room is the front door, and halfway to the corner (east) is another window (a street light outside keeps my room from ever being dark unless there is a power outage). I'm just wishing I could get to sleep, and for a good cool breeze. I think I feel the bed move. A minute or so goes by and my bed shakes harder. I pull my head part way out of the window and look down to the end of my bed. There are three figures standing there - one tall male in the center and two small cowering things on each side of him right up against its legs. It kinda reminded me of the Ghost of Christmas Future portion of a 'Christmas Carol' but the two creatures were not male or female in appearance nor do they seem to have clothes. They were just hunched over crowding the center figure. The tall man looks to be very well dressed (even though it is all black and dark), it almost looks like a formal suit is being worn by him. I can see no real features (eyes, hair, nose, mouth...and I can't remember if it had a hat or not). They never made a sound and seemed to move in unison, and stayed at the end of the bed for maybe three minutes before moving a foot or so. They moved more in front of the other window.

Shortly after that, like within 30 seconds, the two creatures at its feet moved away from it, and its formal clothes (or what I thought were it's formal clothes) unfurls out into wings that are connected to its arms; kind of like a bats, only more humanistic. I freaked! I didn't yell out for my parents, I pulled the sheets over my head and prayed to God to protect me, and rid the house of this whatever it was. At least I did fall asleep not long after I started to pray.” EM

NOTE: No location was given. Were these phantoms or corporeal beings? Lon
