'The Count' and Other Weird Sightings
I recently received the following account:This goes back 25 years. I was about 24, young mother. We had just bought our first home. From my cousin, incidentally. My cousin and his first wife divorced because she had been having an affair with his best friend. It was years later that we bought the house from him and his 2nd wife. Our daughter was 4. Not long after we moved in she started talking about Robin Hood being in her bedroom and tucking her in. I had suffered periodic bouts of sleep paralysis for a long time and had lots of nightmares. They really amped up in this house.
Once I woke in the middle of the night and opened my eyes. I saw legs hanging off my dresser as if someone was sitting on it and watching me. Whatever it was was wearing those puffy, knee length silky pants with leggings or whatever underneath and those kind if boots that curl up in the toe. I remember thinking, "Wow they really do curl up" and immediately after that thinking, "This is the kind of thing that makes people crazy if you look it in the face." I shut my eyes before I could see the top of this thing. It is also worth noting that my daughter liked to draw and when she was really small she would draw this little vampire thing over and over again. It had a widow's peak and sharp looking fangs and a purple cape. It reminded me of the Count on Sesame Street and I had always assumed that's what she was aimed for. Till a few months ago when I met a young girl who grew up on the same street. She's about 8 years younger than my daughter. She started telling me about this thing she used to see when she was little and it scared her do bad she would sleep in the hall outside her parents bedroom. And she described it as looking like the Count from Sesame Street.
My daughter doesn't remember what she saw anymore, but I remember what I saw. Description is a little different. I don't know if there were two different things or what because i never saw the face. But wait! There's more. I left my first husband after I became involved with his best friend. I later married the guy and loved him with all my heart. He passed away a year ago. And my young friend, her parents divorced. Wanna guess why? That's my story. GJ

Pittsburgh Area UFO Sighting
Ryan from Pittsburgh called in to tell of his UFO sighting:
“I had a UFO story wanted to share with you. So this happened about three years ago and as I am now I'm pretty much into this field pretty deep. So I had a high powered flashlight. I was messing around for a couple nights in a row pointing at the sky, you know, I don't know why, just trying to pick up something. So I also had a night vision binocular and I would use them both. So the second night I saw a couple lights come by and then the third night I saw one come in and stopped. When I looked at it with a binocular it disappeared. It scared me so I went inside but, so, the next thing I remember after laying on the couch, I just remember waking up instantly, not not feeling sleepy or anything, all of a sudden, I look at my door and, I mean, my basement the doors have blinds inside of them so you could, you know, hit that lever and the blind would go up inside the window. So outside is an orange light and it's sitting in the upper corner and it's not blinking. It's going in and out in and out and it's not shining a light. It was contained within itself, you know what I mean? Like you hear other UFO stories, like, you know, orbs, the lights weren't shining, it was like a ball of light within it, so the second thing I noticed was my my feet were totally pointed straight up and my hands are in my hoodie. People who know me, they know I got real short stubby legs, so it's kind of hard for me to put my legs together and keep them straight up right and so I thought at that point, I think I got to see what this is. So I made the decision to get up and run to the door and right as I thought that, the light dimmed out but I got to the door pulled it open, looked up, I saw nothing but the branch was going up and down and there was no wind that night and so for the next year I tried to debunk this. I thought it was a street light or maybe it was someone's car light but I lived right... there's no light there. You could get no lights behind there. Recently, me and my son saw two orbs... and this is in a daytime, two orbs side-by-side, they both turned with each other and right as I went to go pull my phone out, they disappeared. The only other thing I can connect with this would be, I was driving one day for deliveries for FedEx Express and I, all of a sudden an image just popped in my head, of an orange light underneath a craft, but that's the only thing I can connect with that.”

Vintage 'Caballero' Shadow Figure
“I saw a figure that looked like a man wearing an old style Spanish hat with a wide brim. As I got closer, the black was a black like I've never seen, darker than any black, like it was sucking in the little light that was left as it was dusk, sun just setting. I was on my bicycle in a field that ran between housing neighborhoods. I got about 10 feet away from what I thought was a Mexican man in vintage style clothes since there were a lot in Sacramento, California in 1981, when I saw him. I opened my mouth to ask the stranger, 'What's up man? Where'd you get those black colored jeans?' Only I stopped on the word 'where' because it turned around to look at me. I actually snuck up on it! No lie! It was staring at a house at the edge of the field, when it turned around. I almost froze. The dude was a quarter inch thick, my mind was freaking out at this point, it was inhuman. Nothing is that thin! Then I saw its eyes or rather two perfect holes where it's eyes should of been. Instead was a bright white light inside the circles that should have been eyes. In the span of a nano-second I processed all this blacker than black shadow cut-out person with holes for eyes. And it was tall, like seven feet tall with the hat and the cloak it was wearing, like it was from colonial time.
I, being the smart ass kid I was, said to it, 'Never mind, homie, better get them eyes fixed first!' Probably not the smartest thing to do, antagonize a dark shadow thing, but I did and hit the pedals on my bike like my feet had rockets strapped on. I was riding as fast as I could, looking back, watching it to see if it was chasing me. I didn't see it, as I was turning my head back, forward. As I'm looking straight left, I see it standing straight across from me even though I left it in the dust. It was right up with me, just slowly turning its head and watching me flee for my life. I don't believe it was malevolent, in fact, I believe it was watching a demon in that house it was staring at. The house was well known for being haunted, screams and roars, and lights and smashing crashing sounds always emitting from the two story that no one lives in. I think it was monitoring the demon in that house. I saw it one more time before I quit going through that field completely, it was in the same place watching that house only this time, the house was going crazy; horrific inhuman screams and lights and the destruction sounds were LOUD. I saw it go into that house just before it started so either it's the demon or its fighting it. I swear this to be completely true, take it how you wish, but it changed my life forever.” Patrick Riley

Tall Red-Eyed Humanoid Encountered in Oakland, CA
I recently found the following account:
I was driving home with my brother between 12 and 2 AM. I had just gotten on the highway and in the middle divider of the road my headlights shined on giant man at least 8 to 9 feet tall and his skin was all charcoal grey. He wasn't broad, (I couldn't see his body because it looked like he was wearing a large black trench coat or cloak of some kind) but I'd imagine he would have been around 200-250 pounds from how his head looked. He also had red glowing eyes, which seemed like they glowed on their own and weren't just reflecting my headlights since I could still seem them once my lights were no longer shining on him.
I was driving at least 50-60mph so I only saw him for a few seconds. It almost looked like he was shocked to see me and was shuffling back into the bushes but he was almost as tall as them. The way he walked creeped me out the most, he was sidestepping but they were fast really short steps like if you had to walk with your pants around your ankles or a were a penguin or something.
I yelled "what the f**k!" and my brother, who was laying back in his seat sat up, looked over and said "what the f**k!" too. We were both rattled but kept on driving home
This was in Oakland, CA in August 2017. I don't remember the exact date but I could probably find out since someone I know had a wedding a few days before.
Below is a really bad drawing of what he looked like and a maps link to the part of the highway I saw him on. I don't remember the exact place but it was somewhere on that stretch of highway - Derateo
NOTE: Is it possible that this being had wings wrapped around it? Possibly similar to the Bolingbrook, IL encounter? I put that question to the witness...waiting for a reply. Lon

'Giant birds do exist!'
“Giant birds do exist having seen -- and heard -- one myself. I was deer hunting and heard a slow swishing sound for about 3 minutes then saw what looked like a giant white hawk fly over (about a 16 foot wingspan -- and that's on the conservative side). I've flow RC airplanes and seen different size aircraft, and it is possible to get a fair idea of its size and height from a distance. I've also seen ordinary hawks with as much as a 6 foot wingspan but the bird I described was absolutely huge and likely a freak of nature. Condors have a span of about 10 feet; however, the bird I saw was definitely significantly larger then that.” L

“I saw a Thunderbird a few months ago (2017) early in the morning while I was driving on the highway to catch the bus for work. It was still a little dusk, but it caught my eye because it was huge and flying relatively low. Long beak with the pointy head and the long tail with the arrow tip. What I found really fascinating was how the wings almost flapped in slow motion. They were flapping at 1/4 the speed of Canadian geese. If I wasn't on the highway, I would've pulled over to get out of the car just to get a better look. There wasn't much time for anything else. It was flying perpendicular to the way I was traveling. Truly amazing to witness. Just wish I had someone with me to see it too.” PP

Giant Black Triangular UFO
“14 years ago myself and my 2 kids saw something very similar. We were driving to Seattle in the middle of the night to beat Thanksgiving day traffic from our home in Kalama, Washington. We took the 512 McCord Air Force exit and a few miles later I saw a gigantic black triangle a mile or so ahead of us hovering low in the sky. I couldn't take my eyes off of it. I'm a skeptic so I was trying to figure out what kind of military craft it was. My 16 year old daughter spoke. I thought she was sleeping so I looked at her. She asked me, 'WTF is that Mom?' 'I don't know,' I said. We all three turned to stare. My son woke because we were talking. Anyway when we looked again the thing multiplied, there were 3 now. The other 2 were smaller but the same shape, all had lights on the outer perimeter. We stared for a good 5 minutes because I slowed down to get a good look. After going straight under it we saw military jets banking hard and heading straight for it. Suddenly they all disappeared. I don't know if they just hit the lights out or if they left. All three of us are sceptics so to this day we aren't calling what we saw alien aircraft but definitely a UFO.” RP

My Personal 'Ouija' Experience
As many of my readers and associates are aware, I'm not keen on the use of Ouija. In fact, I have occasionally experienced an abrupt reaction when in the presence of a well-used spirit board (my friend & colleague Sean Forker will attest to that). Divination tools (tarot, runes, crystals, pendulums, etc.), in my experience, are fairly safe if implemented correctly and cleared of energy after use. But I would still advise that anyone interested in divination first become familiar with the protocol and possible consequences. Seeking guidance from an experienced practitioner is highly encouraged.
With that stated, I strongly bemoan the use of Ouija. There are a few friends and colleagues who disagree with my perception on the subject, but I refuse to modify my stance.
We have all heard or read the horror stories associated with using a spirit board. But regardless of the authenticity of a particular story, there is an underlying truth to the overall practice; actual evil, destruction and malevolent ramifications may result by employing Ouija. It has been my misfortune to have witnessed some of the pitfalls firsthand. Some people may think that the minor event I'm about to describe is merely a coincidence. You may be correct.
During my high school years, I was interested in a variety of spiritual and occult subjects. My heightened sense of intuition was usually on alert and this occasionally got me into a few odd circumstances; especially since I had never shared my empathic ability with friends.
One night I was at a medium-sized party in the club basement of a friend's house. Many of the kids were from other high schools, which wasn't unusual. I had been at this particular house before and my friend's elderly parents rarely interrupted us. I won't lie, there was beer and wine on hand.
I was sitting on the sofa, drinking a beer and talking to a girl I had just met. At the circular coffee table, there were 5 or 6 kids gathered around a Ouija board. This was the mid-1970's and Ouija boards were somewhat popular; in fact, my Dad sold these and other divination items in our family's hobby shop. Most people considered Ouija as benign entertainment. I had other ideas, even back then, but I watched in interest.
I don't exactly remember who or what they were attempting to contact, but it seemed that things were quickly getting out of hand. One of the girls started complaining that someone was whispering in her ear and that someone had grabbed her breasts. It was apparent that she was serious and upset. About the same time, I looked at the face of the guy sitting directly across from this girl. He had a strange grin and was staring directly at her. It seemed like he was going to spring across the table and attack her!
I became alarmed and remember looking at his eyes and saying to myself 'stop...now!' All at once, he shot an evil glance at me. He was really perturbed and his nostrils were flaring! He immediately got up and made his way towards me. The girl I was sitting with saw him coming towards us and screamed. His arms and hands were extended and he attempted to grab me. I was able to maneuver to my right and pull him down on the couch. As I held him, two other guys came to my aid. He quickly calmed down and we let him up. He apologized for attacking me. I could sense he had been influenced by something during the board session.
As we sat and discussed what had happened, the girl (who had complained earlier) screamed and pointed above the Ouija board. The planchette was hovering freely about 2 ft. above the coffee table! Everybody ran towards the opposite side of the basement in an attempt to distance themselves from the hovering planchette. My friend and I stood nearby by the bar as I focused on the object. I had no sense of what was causing this amazing anomaly. My friend continued to say 'What is it?' 'What is it?' Suddenly the planchette crashed down onto the board with deliberate force, breaking one of its legs. The bottles and glasses on the coffee table flew off in all directions. Those kids on the opposite side of the basement made a quick beeline towards and up the stairs; then out the kitchen door. Party over!
I have not disclosed names because some of those kids who attended that party maintain that this event has haunted them; even to this day.
The girl who was attacked during the Ouija board session had a short life. I don't know the intimate details, but I was made aware through other acquaintances that she died during a brutal attack and robbery in Texas in 1987.
I have had sporadic, but continued contact with a few of those people who were there that night. Most of them have had tough lives. At least one swears something evil attached to them that night at the party and harassed them for many years.
It's obvious to me that something malevolent was summoned during that party. I don't know what was said or requested by those participating, but I sincerely believe some of them suffered the consequences.
I have rarely conveyed this personal experience, leaving many of the details out of my narrative. I will disclose that many of the people who have sought my counsel and guidance have had experiences involving spirit boards. Is it coincidence? Possibly, but I have found that circumstances that involve the supernatural are rarely happenstance. Lon

2019 Kecksburg (PA) UFO Festival
The Kecksburg UFO Festival is approaching quickly. This local festival that the Kecksburg VFD provides each year, has become known as a national event, and people from throughout the country continue to arrive in Kecksburg each year.
The schedule of events for the 2019 UFO Festival on July 26-28 can be found at: Kecksburg VFD coming events. The address for the Kecksburg VFD grounds where the festival takes place is 5128 Water Street, Mount Pleasant, PA 15666.
The annual UFO-Paranormal Conference at the Kecksburg UFO festival is held on Sunday at 1 PM in the EMS Building on the festival grounds. Arrive early to get a seat. The conference is free but the Kecksburg VFD appreciates a donation at the door.

1 PM - Introduction by Ron Struble from the Kecksburg Volunteer Fire Department
1-1:30 PM - Stan Gordon, UFO-Bigfoot Researcher and author, marks 60 years of research on these topics during 2019. He will be giving an update on the surge of UFO, Bigfoot and cryptid cases that occurred in 2018 and are continuing in 2019 from the Pittsburgh area as well as Westmoreland County.
1:30-2:30 PM - Ben Moss and Tony Angiola will be speaking about the famous Socorro UFO incident in detail and separating fact from fiction in this important Close Encounter of the 3rd kind. Both researchers have appeared on the Hangar 1 program on the History Channel and Discovery’s NASA’s Unexplained Files. Ben is the former Chief Field Investigator for MUFON in Virginia. Tony was the Assistant State Director for MUFON in Virginia.
2:30-3:30 PM - Steve Ward is a longtime UFO and Cryptid researcher from Michigan. He will be presenting an illustrated program called, “From Folklore to Flying Saucers: Unexpected Connections in the Paranormal.” He has been very involved with the annual Mothman Festival in West Virginia. Steve can also be heard on “The High Strangeness Factor” on the Paranormal UK Radio Network.
3:30-end - Bill Lancaster will be talking about his Bigfoot research and will be showing his latest film, “Paranormal Bigfoot” to the audience. This film investigates theories that Bigfoot maybe much stranger than just an unknown animal. Bill and his wife Amy have a film production company in Virginia called Bilco Productions. They have produced two documentaries on the Bigfoot subject.

“I'm not sure WHAT it was I saw but it was strange. In 2012, I went to Bangladesh on holiday to visit some relatives and we own an apartment which has a flat roof and it's two levels. So one night my younger cousins and I decided to stay up and go to the roof and play card games and stuff. We took snacks and drinks and we were having a lot of fun. We started to stargaze and that's when we saw something whizz past above us. It was spinning but the lights were not red it was a bluish colour from what I remember. When we all saw it, it was nighttime, around 10:00 PM, some of us got our cellphones and tried recording it but it wouldn't show up on our camcorder screens like if it had some type of invisible shield unable to be seen by electric devices. Huge 'Roar' at Moulton Falls State Park, WA
An anonymous man from Vancouver, Washington wrote to tell of his experience at Moulton Falls State Park:
“I'm now living in Vancouver, Washington in the south of the state. Last summer (2015) it was very hot so I decided to take my mother swimming up a road that heads east from Moulton Falls State Park Road. I suck with the media aspect of these things but the Google Maps will show you exactly where this happened, that I can convey at least clearly. Hit the Earth button so you can see the trees. The first, that is where the flagger gal (road crew) and us were. That was on our way back which was west, from swimming, which is important, as you can see. The other is where the cliff base on the north side which is where I first heard the sound of a large limb dragging into the soil.
So, I'll admit, I was going super slow with my head hanging out the window just because I love the beauty and smells out there. And I also love shared cliff-sides for the moss and ferns. I heard two distinct scruffs from what must have been a very large animal but it was up the cliff about 20 to 30 feet, maybe more. So I leaned in and told my mom and, of course, she wasn't with me during a crazy number in the past (a prior paranormal experience) but was no skeptic but fearful, in a good way. So I sped up immediately, just out of caution just in case there was large crazy bear that was going up or down. I knew in my mind that that was a Bigfoot. My spidey-sense with a previous experience left me no doubt, so I continued on to the swimming spot about a mile or two up the road.
As we walked down the river, I was smacking my walking stick rather hard on to the trees to alert predators, deer and as well as Bigfoot. Yeah, it's stupid, I know, but... We were there thirty minutes total and then I suggested we leave as it was getting later in the day and I was spooked out there, obviously. Now comes the scary part.
We were cruising past the cliff base again and I'm going faster this time. Yes, I was scared deep down. We rounded down the bend, where a small road crew was working. We observed them doing finishing touches, probably like four people total, three on a machine and one flagger gal at the base of this hill to protect them. Now, where she is standing, there is a home about fifty to a hundred feet just north of it we rolled to a stop and I went to ask her if we could roll on and right then there was a roar that filled the woods, like a big gorilla which was just north of that home in the woods. My mom and I looked at each other and I said, 'What the fark was that?' And she didn't know either. The thing is, the young flagger gal, who looked like she might have been 18 or so, did not flinch, did not show any emotions. No facial expressions, just a blank stare. But not like totally out of it but she just didn't react at all. So I asked her if she heard that and, get this, she did not say anything. She just had that blank look on her face. None of the other workers stopped working either. She then said, 'You can go.' I rolled really slow for a hundred feet and looked in the mirror the whole time expecting something to happen. She was just standing there staring straight ahead into the woods, facing south away from the roar. Then she looked at us and stared for five seconds or so. Then she just resumed staring into the woods. My mother and I were pretty scared at this point, so I sped up. We got out of Dodge.
The sheer animosity in that roar and the sheer power conveyed in it was indescribable, like a large ape or a large hominid or something I've never heard before. And my mother agrees, it had to be Bigfoot. Some of the other stories from that area put mine to shame but I must say they do seem quite territorial up there judging by that roar. I want to go out to the spot where I heard it digging but I have to admit, I'm a bit frightened to a degree to do so.”

Winged Cryptid Observed in Shippensburg, PA
I received the following report from Phantoms & Monsters Fortean Research team member Timothy Renner:
Original statement by email:
I was wondering if you had heard anything about mothman in the Shippensburg area. 2 weeks ago (week of June 10, 2019) my sister was leaving for work around 4:45-5:00 AM, she said she saw a very large black winged creature fly over her car. She said she could see claws clearly on it. She doesn’t know I am asking this, she worries what people would say.
Further information from winged humanoid witness' brother:
3-4 feet body, wingspan 5-6 feet, the body was long and lean, claws on back of legs, not a bird shaped body. Doesn’t think that it had feathers. She said the face was bat-like. Flew fast. She is a birdwatcher, she knows what cranes, hawks, owls look like. She said it reminded her of a crane but it was not a crane. Location was the intersection of Route 11 and Conestoga Drive in Shippensburg Pa.

Witness was a female - was crying when telling me her story - she said it was the first time she told anyone.
It was in the woods along side her - not pacing her - it seemed to run ahead and wait for her she said - but she never saw it until she went to light a cigarette - at which point she caught yellow-green eyeshine about 15 ft away.
She looked up to see a wolf-headed creature - black or dark grey - ears on top of head - at least 6'4" (she was basing height on the size of her tallest friend who was 6'4")
She just walked away - said she got the feeling that if she didn't react it wouldn't hurt her.

Los Padres National Forest: Bigfoot & High Strangeness
Just for some background, around August of last year I was working for a gun/hunting rights organization here in California. I was working a hunting camp one weekend with my employer at a Boy Scout camp in Ventura County, California. We were in the Los Padres National Forest about 75 miles outside of Los Angeles near the community of Frazier Park. One day, I was talking with the ranger for the camp who lives up there full time and oversees the camp in between visits from various groups. I casually asked if he had ever experienced anything weird while living in this area, and he said yes. He stated that one night around 11pm he was out on the cabin porch talking to the previous ranger who worked the camp, when he noticed a figure that looked like a person walking in the trees in the distance. The former ranger asked what he was staring at and he told him he saw someone walking in the woods. This old ranger then said “oh, that must be the Sasquatch that frequents here. We have all seen it.” We meant the other former rangers and full time staff.
Additionally, the ranger has also stated that deer, rabbits, and other animals are often startled by something in the forest, but he is only able to hear whatever it is run off.
Additionally, the valley is former Chumash land and there are archeological sites throughout the area, and many hikers who make the trek to this area have often reported hearing strange sounds and feel like they are being watched.
When I was up there I didn’t see anything for myself, but if there is any creature, I am sure they were scared away from the camp after days of shotguns going off.

I received other information from Los Padres National Forest about 1 1/2 years ago:
Recently I saw one of the most elusive creatures which may inhabit the Los Padres National Forest: Bigfoot.
The sighting was on the evening of Dec. 28 last year while watching a herd of deer grazing in the oak woodland immediately north of Lake Casitas (not burned by the recent Thomas Fire). The herd of eight deer abruptly stopped their grazing and looked up in alarm, the sun had just set and as darkness came in a large, upright walking furry figure appeared and was moving along
the edge of the woodland toward the herd.
The deer moved to the other end of the woodland. The creature, which has been seen in the Casitas Watershed area many times over the years, did not appear to be in a hurry, but did disappear back into the shrub cove. The creature was about 8-9’ tall with light brown fur and walked upright. RB
The following strange account occurred in the same area:
Michael Herdman, 36, went missing June 13, 2014 when he ran after his dog in difficult terrain in Los Padres National Forest. His body was spotted 1,200 feet above his campsite among rugged cliffs. His dog was found alive on Sunday in the parking lot where Herdman left his car 12 miles away.
A California firefighter who went missing two weeks ago during a camping trip after he ran after his dog has been found dead among rugged terrain in Los Padres National Forest, authorities said Friday.
Michael Herdman, 36, ran after his black lab, Duke, the night of June 13 while he was barefoot and wearing just a T-shirt and shorts.
The wayward pooch was found Saturday in a parking lot where his owner had parked his car — about 12 miles from where Herdman and buddy Taylor Byars, 27, had set up camp along a river bottom in woods outside the city of Fillmore.
