In the early days of television in the Hawaiian Islands, one of the more popular programs was Betty’s Guest Book, aired on the CBS Honolulu affiliate KGMB-TV from 1 to 1:30 p.m. every Thursday. To those senior citizens that can still remember the program, there was an episode that dealt with the most controversial subject of flying saucers that stood out above all the rest. Airing on 27 January 1955, this is perhaps one of the more intriguing interviews ever conducted regarding the UFO phenomenon, insofar as it contains many revelations about the advanced civilizations that exist on other bodies in our own solar system. The guest was Riley Hansard Crabb (2 April 1912-20 January 1994), a prominent researcher of esoterica and the borderland sciences. The following, taken from Dr. Raymond A. Keller’s Venus Files, is an exact transcript of that program from the audio tape recording made at home off of the television set by Riley’s then second wife, Judy Crabb:

Betty Smyser: We have a guest who is an expert on a very unusual subject, flying saucers. His name is Riley Crabb. This is so nice of you to come down and tell us about a subject which is so fascinating. But is it believable?
Riley Crabb: Yes. That’s what we will find out during your show.
Betty: I read in the paper the other day that you gave a talk at the YMCA. What did you talk about?
Riley: The title of last Tuesday evening’s talk, Betty, was, “Flying Saucers and Why Some Men Are Taken for a Ride.” It was given at a public meeting of the Theosophical Society, of which I am lodge president.
Betty: First, Riley, how did you become interested in interplanetary travel?
Riley: One of the radio engineers here in Honolulu, back in 1950, gave me a copy of True magazine, which had one of their first articles on the subject. Prior to that, I dismissed them as hallucinations. But the factual material in the article startled me. Shortly after that, I had a chance to join the Borderland Sciences Research Associates, a group with headquarters in San Diego. We compile material of this kind and analyze it to see what truth is in it.
Betty: And you have been pursuing your studies ever since?
Riley: Yes, Betty, I’m afraid it has become an avocation now.
Betty: What, just exactly, is a flying saucer supposed to be?
Riley: Apparently, it is a spaceship for traveling between planets.
Betty: Just as simple as that?
Riley: Just as simple as that, Betty. I have two books here, just recently received from the British Book Centre in New York. One is Space, Gravity and the Flying Saucer by Leonard Cramp. This man is a member of the British Interplanetary Society and he discusses various scientific aspects of lift, how these saucers get their propulsion. The other volume- and we will review it on your program today- is the Flying Saucer from Mars by an Englishman named Cedric Allingham.
Betty (reaching for the book): It says here, “An eyewitness account of a landing of a Martian!”
Riley: That’s right.
Betty: Now this is going to take a lot of convincing- a flying saucer from Mars. Now, Mr. Riley Crabb, suppose I let you go right ahead and when I am skeptical or have a question to ask, I’ll interrupt you. How about that?
Riley: Fine; and think of the woman’s angle, Betty. The thing is that Allingham was well equipped to have such a thing happen to him. He was out on a lonely beach, a beach in Scotland named Lossiemouth, and he had with him the basic equipment: a camera with film in it, a note or sketchbook and binoculars. It was 18 February 1954, not quite a year ago. It was about half an hour past noon. Allingham was a professional bird watcher, an ornithologist, and also an amateur astronomer. He was out actually looking for birds, so he was also used to looking up.
Birdwatchers are more likely to see and even photograph a flying saucer, insomuch as they are outside more often and usually packing photographic equipment to document their bird finds.
Betty: You mean he wasn’t out looking for a flying saucer?
Riley: No, but he believed in them and had since the stories first broke back in 1946, because of his astronomical background. He feels that science has not disproved that life is possible on other planets; and when these spaceships began showing up, that was proof to him. Well, anyhow, this particular day he was surprised to see this blob of light about 5,000 feet above him. He put his binoculars to it and saw the round dome and three-ball landing gear underneath, the usual identifying marks of a scout saucer. We might look at our first slide now, copied from the back of the book. There is Allingham, beside his ten-inch reflecting telescope, one he has used for years in his astronomical work. The next picture is a copy of the one he got that day at noon.

Betty: You mean that blob of light?
Riley: Yes, that is typical of many pictures which have been taken by other people. The main difference was that this one came on down and landed about 3:30 p.m. and he got a close look at it.
Betty started laughing in disbelief.
Riley: It’s true!
Betty: All right. All right!
Riley: Allingham stayed in the area, hoping to see the saucer again; and about 3:30 or 3:40 p.m., he heard, rather than saw, this flying saucer coming in very low over the sea.
Betty: What kind of sound did it make?
Riley: A sort of swish, moving the air around it; and it landed there on the beach about 50 yards from him. It was about 50 feet in diameter, 20 feet high; and he got one picture of it coming down. Our next slide will show you that.
Betty: Riley, are you sure that wasn’t taken on a movie set in Hollywood for one of those science fiction things?
Riley: It is true that this would be pretty easy to duplicate.
Betty: But you’ll take Mr. Allingham’s word that this is the saucer he saw, that he actually took a picture of it after it landed on that afternoon?
Riley: Yes.
Betty: OK. And what happened after the saucer landed?
Riley: A hatch opened and an individual climbed out, a spaceman, and stood there on the sand; and they stared at each other.
Betty: You mean they didn’t immediately shake hands and say, “How are you, Joe?”
Riley: No. Allingham was so excited by that time that he forgot to get a good picture of the spaceman, front view. It wasn’t until the interview was over and the man started back toward his saucer that Allingham upped his camera and got a picture.
Betty: You mean that you have a picture of this man that got off the flying saucer?
Riley: Yes, we will have that pretty soon, such as it is. This next one is picture of the saucer on the ground, sitting on the beach.
Betty: Look at those three portholes! And that was the picture of the saucer after it landed?

Riley: Yes, Betty, and there is the picture of the man. We’re a little ahead of our story.
Betty: Wait a minute, Riley; let’s clarify this. That picture you see on your television screen now is a man from….?
Riley: Mars.
Betty: Mars? A man got out of that flying saucer?
Riley: That’s what Mr. Allingham claims.
Betty: All right.
Riley: I’m merely presenting his story, Betty. Let me read Allingham’s description: “I had never seen a spaceman. He presumably had seen other Earth men. In all essentials, however, our appearance was similar. My own height is 5’9 ½” and his was a little bit more, I should say about six feet. By Earthly standards, I should say we were about the same age. I am 32. His hair, like mine, was brown and short. But his skin was a peculiarly curious color, rather like a deep tan. Even so, had he been dressed in Earthly clothes, I doubt if he would have any difficulty in passing as an Englishman. The only real difference was that his forehead was higher than that of any man I know. That’s all.”

Betty: It’s as simple as that. I’m completely fascinated.
Riley: Good.
Betty: Now tell me, Riley, what was Mr. Allingham’s reaction? Was he frightened?
Riley: No, he wasn’t. Allingham is a matter-of-fact, straight-forward Englishman, apparently. If you read his book, you will find out that; and he was concerned to get information from the spaceman which would verify some of his astronomical theories about the inhabitation of the planets. The first thing that occurred to Allingham was to try to find out where the man came from. In asking questions of him, Allingham discovered that this being had a beautiful voice, sounding like water gurgling over rocks. There was a musical quality to it, quite alien to anything he had heard.
Betty: Not words?
Riley: Not as we know them. Therefore, Allingham took out his sketchpad, a handy thing to have if you are searching for flying saucers, and he drew in the Sun and then marked in the orbits of the planets. Number one is Mercury. The orbit of Venus is number two; and then he drew in the orbit of the Earth, number three. (Crab was demonstrating this with a sketchpad and heavy black pencil for the TV audience, a “Venus” brand pencil at that!) Allingham pointed to this, the Earth’s orbit, and the spaceman agreed that he knew he was on the planet occupying the third orbit in our solar system. Then Allingham pointed to Venus, number two, and got a negative response. The Englishman then drew the fourth orbit, Mars, and got an agreement on that. That is how he established that the individual came from Mars.
Betty (laughs): Well, I’m speechless, absolutely! This is fantastic. Then what happened?
Riley: Then the spaceman tried to ask a question. With gestures the stranger indicated he was concerned as to whether or not we were going to have another war. Allingham could not give him any assurance that we wouldn’t. Then the Englishman tried to discover if this Martian had had any contact with the planet Venus, because the spaceman George Adamski contacted in the California desert in 1952 indicated that he came from Venus. Using the sketchpad again, Allingham showed an arc between Mars and Venus.
Betty: You mean showing that they traveled back and forth?
Riley: Yes, between Mars and Venus, and the spaceman indicated an affirmative. Then Allingham drew in the orbit of the Moon around our planet and finally got the spaceman to understand the question as to whether or not the Moon was being used as a space station; and the answer was again in the affirmative.
Betty: And all of this communication with the man from Mars was done with a drawing tablet?
Riley: And gestures.
Betty: Tell me something else, Riley. Did Allingham mention that the spaceman was afraid of him? Was there no fear?
Riley: No. Allingham remembered those gestures of friendship more common to primitive people here on Earth, of offering a gift. The only thing he had was his fountain pen. He offered that to the spaceman and it was accepted, graciously, and put in his pocket.
Betty: You mean they have pockets to their suits?
Riley: Oh, yes. Here’s a description of the suit: It covered him completely from his neck to his feet. Only his hands were free. There were no definite shoes. The feet were encased in the garment. It reminded Allingham of chain mail, certainly insulating and flexible.
Betty: It’s explained just like that in the book. I told Riley Crabb that I was really going to put him on the spot. I told him that I didn’t believe in flying saucers; that perhaps they were just blobs of light. But you are convincing me, my friend.
Riley: Betty, I’m only presenting such evidence as I have accumulated in four years. I have volumes of it. This is only the latest. Speaking of evidence, I’d like to quote here from the book an interesting item which Allingham dug up. One thing, by the way, which critics have said is that no reputable astronomer or scientist has come out publicly and said that he believes in them. But going back into the past for astronomical sightings, Allingham quotes the French astronomer, Charles Messier, who on 17 June 1777 wrote in his diary: “They were large and swift and they were like ships yet like bells.” It is clear that he examined these not only with the unaided eye but also with the telescope.
Betty: And that was as far back as 1777?
Riley: Yes, Betty. Of course, a check of written history indicates that we have had sightings as far back as we have- written history! Also, the bell-like shape Messier observed in 1777 indicates that there hasn’t been much change in the design in over 150 years.
Betty (laughs): I was going to say, Riley, not much progress has been made, has it?
Riley: Or perhaps they’ve made all the progress in spaceships that is necessary….

Screaming 'Banshee' Stalks West Ireland Witness
An Irish witness encounters a strange bent oak tree while jogging. They sit near the tree and notices a bone comb. A blood curdling scream is heard, but no one is seen, until later during the jog.
The following account was recently posted on social media. I asked the witness to privately get back to me:
"I was out on a jog with my brother in the back end of nowhere. Its a loop around a lake in which you have to go through fields and a portion of this trail is tarmacadamed here in west Ireland. My brother parked near a gate at the start of the trail and the plan was that I would run to the start and he would run to the end so that we could meet in the middle and walk back.
When I had started to jog I had to go up through the first field which was flooded due to the constant raining the day before. After I had gotten through the field I had reached the tarmacadamed road which was surrounded by huge sand dune hills. I had started to jog along the road when I had a rushing feel of dread, like I was being watched by someone or something. I was at least 2 miles from the start of the tarmacadamed road when I had came into a clearing, just an open field with 2 oak trees. These trees looked like they had been extremely weathered with branches falling of and the trunk of the tree bent out of shape, almost like a bench. I thought that was a little weird because oak trees are hard, thick and sturdy trees. So for the weather to have done this in an area that was surrounded by huge sand dunes was impossible.
I have really bad asthma and had to take breaks to catch my breath every so often when running or jogging. I had sat down on this bent oak tree when I had noticed this small bone comb on the oak tree this filled me with absolute dread, almost like when you are falling in a dream and their is nothing you can do. I reached out to touch the bone comb when I hear this blood curdling scream from behind me. I shot up and looked behind to no avail, nothing was there. Being definitely spooked, I checked around the trunk and nothing. I continued on my jog, running on the trail all the while still feeling this overwhelming feeling of dread.
After about 30 minutes of jogging down this trail I see my brother jogging towards me around the corner road. He did not want to ruin his time, because he times his runs jogs cycles etc. He jogged ahead of me and due to me running for the last 30 minutes, I had no choice but to walk and take breaks often to catch my breath.
By the time my brother was out of my view, something was off. I was definitely being watched. I looked behind me to see a small old Irish woman with the gray hair and traditional clothes looking at me with a blank expression. She slowly opened her mouth and let out a blood curdling scream. I ran faster then I knew I possibly could. I ran past my brother after about 5 minutes who was at least 1.5 miles down the trail and was almost at the end by the car when I reached my brother's car. I sat in.
I did not talk to anyone, not even my mother. I walked down to my room and just slept through my trauma, which was unusual for me because it was 5:03 PM and I never sleep during the day." ZP

The Werewolf of Dogdyke
The following account recalls a cryptid canine the supposedly roamed Langrick Fen in Lincolnshire, UK as told by Christopher Marlowe M.A., author of "The Fen Country", 1926. Christopher Marlowe, who lived in nearby Langrick Fen, supposedly found a skeleton of a half-wolf half-man creature buried in the peat. He took the corpse back to his house and was later awoken by the head of a large wolf looking at him through the window.
"Another extraordinary story of transformation was told by a young man who lived in Langrick Fen, not far from Dogdyke. He was an ardent archaeologist and one day while digging in the peat discovered some ancient remains. Among them was what looked like a human skeleton with a wolf's head.
Carrying the object into his cottage he placed it on a table and examined it carefully. But he could make nothing of it and concluded that it must have been some monstrosity, such as showmen bring out at fairs to excite the interest of the crowd.
That night, however, he found himself unable to sleep, and fancying he heard a noise in the back premises, got up to investigate. Suddenly he heard a sharp rat-tat on the window pane and looking round perceived a dark object looking at him. This speedily resolved itself into the form of a human being with a wolf's head.
Every feature was distinctly marked and there was no possibility of reflection, since no light was visible anywhere. As the young man stood transfixed with horror, the creature gave a snarl of savage exultation and raised its arm to dash in the glass, whereupon he recovered the power of movement and fled into the kitchen. A crash sounded behind him and he wasted no time in locking and barring the door and erecting a barricade of furniture against it. There he waited all night in a cold sweat, while the stealthy pad-pad of feet sounded without. At last the first streaks of dawn told him that his long vigil was over and as the light grew stronger he ventured to unbar and open the door.
Nothing was visible of the ghostly visitor, but the table, whereon he had placed the skeleton was overturned and the window of the room was shivered into fragments. Hastily collecting the remains of the uncanny being, which lay scattered all over the floor, he buried them again in the same place, where he had found them and covered them over with several layers of peat. Nor was he again disturbed, though for many years afterwards, he would describe with vivid gesture his peculiar adventure with the supernatural."

"The story was recorded in 1926, and even today it sends a shiver down my spine! Reading this short tale, I wondered if other Lincolnshire places were said to have been home to such creatures."
"It was in an archaeological dig that the bones of the creature were found and a chapter of events set in motion. Without giving anything away, I would advise my archaeologist colleagues to avoid bringing unidentified bones into the house and leaving them on the kitchen table!"

Ascending Orange Orb / Lost Time / Dreams of Alien Humanoids (Sketch)
Brother and sister observe an orange orb ascend over the horizon while swimming one summer evening in Kentucky. They lost 2 hours of time and regularly dream about alien humanoids.
A recently reported account to MUFON:
"When I was around 10 or 11, I spent a lot of time with my dad out in Kentucky. I remember swimming one summer night (6-15-2010) with my sister when we both saw an orange orb rise up over the horizon. It caught my attention when I heard what sounded like a hum / TV static.
Shortly after, it caught my sister's attention. The coyotes in the woods were howling like crazy...more than normal. I had several images flash into my head, most consisting of a series of symbols then an image of a human-like alien creature with slightly enlarged black eyes, pale blue skin, and striping with chromatophores that shimmered in different colors when it expressed different emotions factually. It was like it had attempted to communicate with me.
We both watched the craft as it hovered over neighboring farms near ours and, when it was done hovering, it shot straight up into the sky and disappeared. Once it was gone, we decided to go inside and nearly 2 hours had passed by in what felt like minutes.
Even now, 11 years later, I still get images of the symbols from time to time and the creature still shows up to me in dreams and meditations." (sketch provided by witness)

Tall Pale Figure / Strange Light Beams Encountered by Ft. Worth, TX Experiencer
A Ft. Worth, Texas resident recalls a tall pale figure in black clothing suddenly standing in her bedroom. Then later, her and her boyfriend encounter an unknown light shining down on their car.
I recently received the following account:
"This occurred while I was living in Ft. Orth, Texas back in November 1987. I had been in my bed asleep. The time had to be somewhere around 2 AM. I woke and noticed a extremely bright red light shining into my bedroom window. I thought that something had happened outside. I thought that it was either a fire or emergency lights from a vehicle. When I got up to open my curtain to look outside, the light completely went stopped. I thought it was somewhat weird and it took about a minute for me to take it in that a light so bright could go away in a matter of seconds.
After a minute or so, I closed the curtains and turned to lay back down. When I did, there was a man standing by my bed. This wasn't any ordinary man. This man was very tall, dressed in black. I couldn't distinguish the clothes, but I do know that he was covered in black all the way up to his neck. But this is what really scared me. He had pale, almost white skin. He didn't have any hair anywhere on his head or his face. The face was blank. Literally no eyes, moth or nose. I started to scream but it was as if I became mute. I know my mouth was open and I was trying with all my might to scream but nothing would come out. He just stood there. I also recall not being able to move.
I don't remember what happened after that. I only remember waking up in the morning not being able to breath through my nostrils as if I had a very bad sinuses congestion.
After that night I continued to have dreams of a disk-like craft hovering in my backyard and as it hovered it had a sucking action. I would be of me always trying to hold on so that it wouldn't pull me in. The dreams never stopped.
On another occasion, after that night, my boyfriend and I were sitting out in the street in his car and all we saw was a bright light over our car. We thought that it was a helicopter that had it's spot light on us, but there was no noise that a helicopter makes. It shined on us for about a minute then when it stopped we looked out the window towards the sky and all we could see was this huge strike of flame going slow towards the east. But the flame wasn't red, it was green. The car then wouldn't start afterwards.
I did go inside and call a news station, but I don't remember what news channel it was. But I remember them telling me that they did have numerous other calls about seeing something in the sky at that same moment that we had that experience.
The next morning I went outside and noticed that the car was completely drained of oil, gasoline and brake fluid. We never told anyone else." G

'Nordic Female' Suddenly Appears in Queens, NY Neighborhood
A Queens, New York resident notices that stars suddenly disappear while observing them. Then they experience lost time at the local deli a few minutes later, after a Nordic-like female appears. Very strange.
The following account was reposted on social media:
"I live in Queens, New York and back in October 2020 something weird happened to me. I was outside on my back porch looking at the stars when something very strange occurred.
At first I was just looking at Orion’s Belt, it was on the west side of the sky, then the stars just disappeared, like all of them, almost as if there was a cloud or something passing low over my house or over the area. I remember thinking about aliens immediately in my head, like so many images of aliens flooded my head, I started to imagine the inside of a ship and it’s alien pilots, they looked very humanoid, they had white skin, blonde hair, large green eyes and were beautiful. I didn’t understand what I imagining because I never think about aliens looking like that.
I didn’t take it serious, so I stopped looking at the sky and walked to the deli on the corner of my house. I’m by myself and I’m speaking in my head which is why this story is so weird to me. I then look back up at the sky before closing my door and saw that there was still no stars, so I said to myself if it’s really aliens then show me some proof. The deli is literally a 1 minute walk from the store to my house but as soon as I said that, I was immediately teleported inside the store even though I had just walked out my door. I was so confused because I knew I didn’t even cross the street. I was so weirded out and the deli owners know me and they noticed how strange I was acting so they asked what’s wrong and I asked them if I just walked In there. They said I walked in 10 minutes ago and ordered a chopped cheese then walked back out. I don’t remember any of that so I asked to see the footage (it was late and the deli owners are good friends of mine so they didn’t mind).
When they rewound the footage I was so scared. On the video, I seen myself walk in and I walked straight to the counter, order the sandwich but usually I tell the actual cook my order so I knew this was weird, I walked back out and came back like 8 or 9 minutes later. I walked in the store and a lady walked in behind me and bought cigarettes. She was white and tall with blonde hair, she looked so beautiful and unnatural on the camera. She looked perfect. I don't know why I’m using that to describe her but that’s all I can say.
She got the cigarettes and walked out. She never looked at me in the video. The weirdest thing to me is that the deli owner kept saying that she was dirty. It struck as weird that he felt compelled to tell me that she was dirty, I think he thought she was a meth-head or something, but on the video she looked fine. She was well dressed she got in a car and drove off. Why did he call her dirty?
I’m so confused because I think that she dropped me there and we had a conversation or she showed me something because I felt so compelled to defend her, even now. I remember looking at the video and that she had a butterfly tattoo on her arm and it just really stood out. The deli owner told me he didn’t know her or seen her before and I live in a part of Queens where there’s barely any white people that live here, so she seemed out of place. I there any information on beautiful alien hybrids or Nordic aliens? Help me! I’m freaking out" ER

5 Inch Tall 'Grey Man' Observed in JC Penney (Sketch)
A Uniontown, PA describes witnessing a small humanoid while in the JC Penney at the Century 3 Mall in West Mifflin. A sketch of the entity is included.
The following account was forwarded to me by a local investigator:
Barbara, a wheelchair bound retiree from Uniontown, Pennsylvania, called and described the following. She and her husband were at Century 3 Mall in April 2008. Her husband was sitting on a bench in the mall. Barbara went to the men's dept. in JC Penney. While there she saw a creature that looked like an ET. There was another women present with her young children. She says they were rushing out of the area. Her son said "I want to see," and the mother replied "No, you can't. Lets go now!"
Barbara, in her wheelchair, saw a grey man approximately 4-5 inches tall, wearing a red/black plaid shirt and blue pants. He was standing by a clothes rack. She saw his profile and then looked away. When she looked back he was now facing her. She described him as being male, no hair, grey skin, almond black eyes with a lumpy heavily wrinkled face. She said the face was not human, it looked like an animal. She again looked away because its not polite to stare. When she looked back, he is gone.
She went to the register to ask for security but nobody was around. She wasn't afraid and said that he had a pleasant smile on his face. She decided to leave the store because she and her husband were planning to attend a movie. Barbara tried to tell her husband but he told her to tell him after the movie. Barbara recalled sitting in the dark theater in the rear by the exit door. Every time the door opened, she looked to see if the creature was there. She started to get frightened.
Barbara said that she completely forgot about the encounter and never told her husband until 2 months later when she saw a UFO article in the Pittsburgh Tribune Review. It seemed to jar her memory. She said she has a tremendous memory and can tell details from years ago, but is surprised she repressed this memory. She believes that when the creature was staring at her, that it made the memory fade away. Barbara said that the newspaper article mentioned a UFO sighting in Jefferson Hills right near the mall at the same time she had her experience."

Red-Eyed Humanoid Encountered in Goodland, Kansas Woods
A Kansas resident had a night time encounter with a deep red-eyed humanoid one summer night in a wooded area near their home. There were also very large bird-like print in the dirt.
The following account was forwarded to me:
"OK, so where do I start? I mostly like to go on walks late at night and this particular night was during the summer. I was walking down a familiar dirt path in a wooded area when I noticed something red. Deepest red I ever seen. It was up in the trees too and when I looked up it suddenly was gone. So I just assumed it was my imagination, continued walking.
Well not long after I felt what at the time i assumed was wind whoosh over me, and up ahead slightly to my left there were two big red eyes. At least I assume they were eyes. Now it is important to note, I live no where near Point Pleasant. I only know about Mothman because of research about him. But as I got closer to investigate, the eyes disappeared and when I got to where I assumed it was standing I saw two kind of bird-like foot prints, except they were at least twice the size of my foot. I don't really remember much after this but I do remember looking behind me, turning around, and running back to my house.
I am not sure what I saw, but I assume it was Mothman. I keep feeling like I'm being watched, and I'll never forget those red eyes. Just the deepest most bright red I ever seen. I guess that's it. No, I don't live near Chicago as I'm in Kansas. To be precise Goodland. This was around 2-3 weeks ago, and the body shape was fairly humanoid. I could make out arms and legs, but the eyes really caught my attention. Keep in mind, I never bring a flashlight with me on these walks, and the eyes seemed to glow. And the red of it was just this encapsulating red. I cant get them out of my head." JG

'Unexplained Beings' Encountered at Montrose Beach in Chicago
A Chicago couple and their kids spend the day at Montrose Beach. While there, they encounter 2 strange beings which neither of them can explain.
The following account was referred to me:
"My encounter started off as a very normal, happy day. My girlfriend and I decided to take the two girls to the beach. It was July 20, 1994. We packed up the small grill, food, pop and caught the bus to the beach. We walked the rest of the way to Montrose Beach along Lake Michigan in Chicago.
The kids ran off to play after we made sure they had something to eat. We were talking and eating, having a good time. All of a sudden, I heard someone yell out, "Excuse me sir! Excuse me!" I looked up and saw two individuals standing about 75 ft. from us attempting to speak to us. The little guy didn't speak the whole time. His companion, so I thought, did all the talking. The guy reminded me of a butler or man-servant and had a very heavy English accent.
I looked around and saw no one else was around. The 'butler' said again, "Excuse me sir. We happened to notice you brought your blanket, your cooler and your grill, and food and seem to be having a holiday." I mistook them for couple of hungry tourists, trying to be mooching some lunch off us. I did my best to be extremely polite and civilized towards them. The little guy appeared to be trying to blend in, but couldn't help but stand out. The butler kept trying to distract me, but I couldn't help sneaking off glances at the little guy. The more I looked, the more he kept trying to distract me. I finally got in a good look, and saw him to be about chest high, with large eyes with slit pupils that were half-closed.
This trick was temporarily successful, but I kept looking back and noticing more things that his disguise couldn't hide! I remarked later to my girlfriend that he looked like some kind of Eddie Munster-like alien. The butler complemented us, and again thinking I'm talking to couple of tourists starting bragging about Chicago and Lake Michigan. Then I told him that the Great Lakes contain 1/5 of the fresh water of the entire planet and that lake Michigan is 300 miles long and 60 miles wide. I mention several attributes in Chicago as well. I snuck a look again back at the little guy. This time his pupils were fully dilated and staring right at me! This really freaked me out, and I tried to turn away but the butler again calmed me down. I couldn't look at the little guy and soon broke contact. After a second or so, when I looked back, they were gone!
All my girlfriend could say was why did I even talk to the little guy. I said I didn't. I only talked to his butler and her reply was "I only saw the little guy." I told her we can't tell the cops and if we tell anyone else they'll think we're nuts! While we were having this conversation we heard a voice say, "Excuse me, excuse me!" We both just froze and dared not turn around! Soon after the kids came back and we got the hell out of there!" JJ

The Cecil Hotel: Evil, Death & Elisa Lam
The Cecil Hotel, located in downtown Los Angeles, California, has a long history of death and violence. Could there be an inherent 'evil' lurking within the building?
I recently watched the new Netflix 4-part documentary 'Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel.'
The film's main concern was the vanishing and death investigation of Elisa Lam, a young woman who suddenly disappeared. Her body was eventually found floating in the water tank on the roof of the hotel. After a lengthy investigation and forensics probe, it was determined that Lam had accidentally died during a psychotic episode brought on by her failure to take her medications for bipolar depression. It was a very tragic incident.
But, beyond this particular death, the Cecil Hotel has had a strange history of sudden and violent deaths since it opened in December 1924. The location is in downtown Los Angeles' 'Skid Row,' a designated area for the homeless, disenfranchised and mentally ill. Every vice imaginable can be found in the part of the city. Ever since the Great Depression, the city has used 'Skid Row' as a depository for undesirables.
The hotel has been an integral part of this misery and suffering. But there seems to be an underlying 'evil' associated with the building. People I have talked to describe it as a living malevolency embedded within the hotel.
Below is a list of the well-known deaths and violence associated with the Cecil Hotel:
On the evening of January 22, 1927, Percy Ormond Cook, 52, shot himself in the head while inside his hotel room after failing to reconcile with his wife and child. Although the Times reported that he was rushed to the Receiving Hospital with a slim chance of survival, death records reveal that he died that same evening.
On November 19, 1931, Manhattan Beach resident W. K. Norton, 46, was found dead in his room after ingesting poison capsules. A week prior, he had checked into the Cecil under the name "James Willys" from Chicago.
In September 1932, a maid found Benjamin Dodich, 25, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He did not leave a suicide note.
In late July 1934, former Army Medical Corps Sgt. Louis D. Borden, 53, was found dead in his room at the Cecil. He had slashed his throat with a razor. Borden left several notes, one of which cited poor health as the reason for his suicide.
In January 1938, United States Marine Corps fireman Roy Thompson, 35, jumped from Cecil's top floor and was found on the skylight of a neighboring building. He had been staying at the Cecil for several weeks.
In May 1939, Navy officer Erwin C. Neblett, 39, was found dead in his room after ingesting poison.
In January 1940, teacher Dorothy Seger, 45, ingested poison while staying at the Cecil and was reported by the Los Angeles Times to be "near death." No further reports were published about her condition.
In September 1944, Dorothy Jean Purcell, 19, was sharing a room at the Cecil with her boyfriend, shoe salesman Ben Levine, 38. Purcell, who had apparently been unaware that she was pregnant, went into labor. She later testified that she did not want to disrupt the sleeping Levine, so she went to the bathroom where she gave birth to a baby boy. Thinking the baby was dead, she threw him out of the window, and he landed on the roof of an adjacent building. Purcell was charged with murder. Three psychiatrists (then known as "alienists") testified that she was "mentally confused" at the time of the incident. In January 1945, she was found not guilty by reason of insanity.
In November 1947, Robert Smith, 35, died after jumping from one of Cecil's seventh-floor windows.
On October 22, 1954, San Francisco stationery firm employee Helen Gurnee, 55, jumped from the window of her seventh-floor room and landed on top of Cecil's marquee. One week prior, she had registered at the hotel under the name "Margaret Brown."
On February 11, 1962, Julia Frances Moore, 50, jumped from the window of her eighth-floor room and landed in a second-story interior light well. She did not leave a suicide note. Among her possessions were a bus ticket from St. Louis, 59 cents in change, and an Illinois bank book showing a balance of $1,800, or around $15,500 adjusted for inflation.
On October 12, 1962, Pauline Otton, 27, jumped from the window of her ninth-floor room after an argument with her estranged husband Dewey. He had left the room prior to Otton's suicide. Otton landed on a pedestrian, George Gianinni, 65, killing them both instantly. As there were no witnesses, police initially thought Otton and Gianinni committed suicide together. However, it was soon determined that Gianinni had his hands in his pockets at the time of his death, and he was still wearing shoes. Had he jumped, his shoes would have likely fallen off during the fall or upon impact, and his hands would not have been in his pockets.
On June 4, 1964, a hotel worker discovered "Pigeon Goldie" Osgood, a retired telephone operator, dead in her room. She had been raped, stabbed, and beaten, and her room was ransacked. Osgood was well known around the area and had earned her nickname because she fed birds in nearby Pershing Square. Near her body was the Los Angeles Dodgers cap she always wore and a paper sack full of birdseed. Hours after her murder, Jacques B. Ehlinger, 29, was seen walking through Pershing Square in bloodstained clothing. He was arrested and charged with Osgood's murder but was later cleared of the crime. The murder remains unsolved.
On December 20, 1975, a still-unidentified woman, approximately 23 years old, jumped from her twelfth-floor window onto the Cecil's second-floor roof. She had registered at the hotel on December 16 under the name "Alison Lowell" and was staying in room 327.\
In 1985, serial killer Richard Ramirez begins staying at the hotel.
In 1991 serial killer Jack Unterweger becomes a resident.
On September 1, 1992, the body of an African American man was found in the alley behind the Cecil. Police said he had either fallen, jumped, or been pushed from the hotel's 15th floor. The 20-to-30-year-old male has never been identified.
On February 19, 2013, the naked body of Elisa Lam, a 21-year-old Canadian student, was found inside one of the water supply tanks on the hotel roof. She had gone missing almost three weeks earlier, on January 31, 2013. Her decomposing body was discovered by a maintenance worker in one of the rooftop water tanks, after guests had complained about low water pressure and water that "tasted funny." Authorities later ruled Lam's death as an accidental drowning. Video surveillance footage taken from inside an elevator shortly before her disappearance showed her acting strangely, pressing multiple elevator buttons, hiding in the corner of the elevator, and waving her arms wildly, causing widespread speculation about the cause of her death. After the elevator video was released, many theories arose about Lam's death. She was reported to have had bipolar disorder, for which she was prescribed various medications, which could have contributed to her death as well as her strange behavior in the elevator. However, rumors persist that she died as a result of playing "the elevator game," a paranormal urban legend that claims to take the player to another dimension.
On June 13, 2015, the body of a 28-year-old man was found outside the hotel. Some conjectured he may have committed suicide by jumping from the hotel, although a spokesperson for the county coroner informed the Los Angeles Times that the cause of death had not been determined.
Besides the listed deaths, I have been told that the number of additional deaths (natural, suicide or homicide) could reach well over 2500 incidents.
As the result of these continued tragedies, could there by an unknown evil lurking within the hotel? What are your thoughts? Lon
