Recently Reported Unexplained UAP / UFO Encounters

4 separate accounts of recently reported unexplained encounters with unknown craft, orbs or UAPs that took place in Oregon, Washington, Texas and Arizona.

I recently came across the following accounts:

West Linn, Oregon - 12/22/2018 - 7:00PM: "It was about 7pm or so on a very well-lit full moon (or nearly so) night. I walked to the back of the house, which sits on the edge of a river terrace overlooking a narrow floodplain below and river. We have a brick walkway the leads to a wooden boardwalk the winds down to the river.

As I approached the boardwalk I stopped and noticed something moving very slowly up the boardwalk, moving up the boardwalk from left to right. Distance of about 10 feet. The moonlight shown well onto it and I could see that it was an oval shaped, black mass with blurry edges surrounded by a fairly transparent (translucent) orb around it. The orb around it was about 1 foot thick around the black mass and together the entire portal was about 6-7 feet in height, and about 4 feet in diameter. The orb around the black mass was active, looking to be charged with energy of some sort. There were angular black pieces, which resembled charcoal, flickering and bouncing around within the orb as it moved. The inner black mass was completely dark. The exterior of the orb was very well defined, almost like a bubble. It made a very dull hum or vibration noise.

I observed for about 10-30 seconds, in absolute confusion about what it could be. But it looked simple evil so I immediately walked quickly back into the house. I did not tell my family what I had seen until 2 years later when I discussed the sighting with a MUFON researcher. She determined that it was likely a portal. I am located on a Ley Line, but not sure if that helps or not. Incredible experience, and extremely real." MUFON

Vancouver, Washington - 2/6/2012 - 11:20PM: "I was a forward air controller in the USAF and have 29 years in the aviation business including some pilot training. I opened the garage awaiting my wife to come home from her day as a flight attendant. I saw a glowing orb in the eastern sky. The orb went left to right, forward and back then shot straight up in the sky at a very high speed. It looked like a baseball. I was able to get a still photo.

What's strange is in the still picture there are trees missing from the vantage point where I took the photo from my driveway. It makes no sense. You should also see houses by those trees and we can't explain the golden haze at the bottom of the picture that looks like tan grasses. That should be the top of a gray house. Also, we are very close to a highway and at that time of night there isn't much traffic.

When I initially saw the object about 4 car horns were going off. Also, there was no wind or thunderstorm activity. I was unable to attach files. When I click "choose file" below nothing happens. I tried copying and pasting and click and drag and neither worked. We showed it to a neighbor who works for the FAA and he said it was very compelling." (No photo provided) YM

"Last night (3.18/2021) I was in my backyard (West Texas) looking up at the sky just relaxing when I see the strangest light moving in ways that just didn’t match anything I know. (It was a steady white light, it looked small and not too far away.) When I first noticed it, it was heading away from me, but the moment I noticed it, it stopped, and turned back to where it was coming from. (It wasn’t a drone, I would’ve heard it and almost all drones have flashing lights.)

I got up and ran to the only thing I had that could signal at it, my car. I started flashing my lights at it and it LITERALLY STOPPED AND CAME TOWARDS ME! It flew over my car at a height of about 40-60 FT, then stopped about 20 yards from my car and flew over my car again in the opposite direction. It had no shape, just light, a dot of light. I was freaked out, and my fight or flight response kicked in. Anyways, I got out of the car to follow it, and when I got out it stopped and floated. I waved at it just to see if maybe whatever it is can see me, and when I waved, it moved left and right as if to wave back! It then just floated and scooted really fast in all directions in no apparent pattern, but, whenever I waved at it, it would follow my hand. It was the most bizarre thing I’ve ever experienced and completely reframed how I think about UFOs. They’re out there, whatever “they” are." GW

This happened in the autumn of 2019 in Phoenix, AZ. My friends, family, and I gathered together to go and enjoy a Saturday outing to the park. This park was your typical open field site, and the field is as large as 4 football stadiums. It had no playgrounds, really not much trees so you would be able to easily play catch or football.

I decided to play a game of catch football with my friends. My friend and I decided to toss the ball around for a bit until the game began, as the rest of the gang were still settling in.

Perhaps 10 minutes into the practice, my friend tossed the ball directly to me with good precision that I moved a foot to my right. But as the ball was coming towards me, I looked up and right above me, I saw what I can describe to you as a black saucer or stealth craft. Mind you, I only saw the bottom of the object as I was looking north, but oddly, the object remained steady, did not move, or make any noise. At that time, knew all about UFOs, but I wanted to make certain I wasn't hallucinating any of it.

As I looked back down at my friend, I told him to look up. That's when I noticed he hadn't moved, him and everyone else were frozen! I yelled to grab the attention of family members but no answer. The whole field that had dozens of families enjoying their day, well, were all frozen in time. No one moved, birds remained still in the sky, the air seemed dusty and had no scent. Now, I hadn’t left my spot for the fact I was in shock but was surprised I was able to move my mouth and arms.

Here’s the kicker. As I looked up at the sky once again, the object that was there has now disappeared. No noise, beautiful clear blue sky, but no object. I looked back down at my friend and remained confused. Then that’s when I heard my friend say, "hey, throw the ball." Everything went back to normal. This all happened in a matter of seconds.

I quickly asked my friend if he just saw the same object as I did, stupidly expecting him to say yes. He was confused but knew how serious I was at the moment. I never spoke about what happened to me until recently when I mentioned it to my spouse. Not sure what happened, but I would not like to encounter it ever again." C

Alien Psychology Explored

Toward the end of 1969, many in the ufology community had already become firm believers in the extraterrestrial hypothesis of UFOs, i.e., that these objects were piloted by beings from other planets who have actually landed their spacecraft on Earth and, in some cases, may even be living among us in one capacity or another.  If this were the case, some ufologists began to speculate about the possible psychology of these strange visitors from other planets, at least so far in better understanding their motivations for coming here in the first place.  

John M. Frytz, a ufologist writing in the November-December 1969 edition of the UFO Report newsletter (Volume 1, Number 2), edited by Armand Laprade and published out of Worcester, Massachusetts, noted that, “Anyone who believes in the extraterrestrial theory of UFOs must have and support some other theory that will explain just why UFOs are here in the first place.  This assumes, of necessity, a motive on the part of the alien intelligence; and as motives are a part of psychology (a very involved part of it), speculation into the nature of alien psychology is then a part of every believer.”

Frytz’ article, “Alien Psychology,” is a classic in being one of the first to explore the UFO phenomenon from possible alien points of view.  Of course, speculation into even the known areas of knowledge can be a difficult enough task.  But the realm of alien psychology was then, and still is, so completely unknown that speculation has become pure guesswork.  In dealing with this subject, however, it becomes apparent that alien motives, from an Earth-bound perspective, can only be described in the light and knowledge of human motivations.  Therefore, Frytz must be commended for at least taking an initial stab in exploring this phenomenon.

Given the above, here are some possible motives that Frytz came up with that can be ascribed in explaining the UFO presence on our planet:

1. Maternal:  A few writers in the past, and more so recently, have put forth the theory that the human race (and indeed, perhaps, all life on Earth) are offspring from a super outer space race, with UFO visitations the maternal watching over us.  This is a very interesting theory, but one which has little supporting evidence; and what evidence offered is of a nature as to be speculation based on many bits of an inconclusive nature, the kind of thing where all the unknowns can be molded to fit almost any preconceived idea thought of.  Although it certainly cannot be disproven yet, proponents certainly have a rough job ahead if they are to put their ideas out of the realm of speculation into theory based on a platform of solidly supported facts.

Comments:  Since Frytz expounded on this motivation, advances in DNA research have bolstered the probability of this theory being accurate.  Attention is invited to the sections “DNA Drama,” “Mystery of the Junk DNA,” and “Biological SETI,” on pages 237-246, of my book, Venus Rising:  A Concise History of the Second Planet (Terra Alta, West Virginia:  Headline Books, 2015).  Stepping outside a purely religious context, there are those in the scientific community who maintain that over the centuries alien DNA has managed to creep into the human genome, slowly transforming and “stepping up” our species to a higher evolutionary plateau.  

2. Political:  Here many writers have suggested conquest as a motive for UFO visitations, particularly in the early years of the UFO phenomenon (1947-1957).  However, in this, I am in perfect agreement with the United States Air Force in their early statements that UFOs present, and have shown, no threat to the security of the United States, or for that matter, the world.  To what degree of alienness alien technology might be, it is hard to comprehend or understand why they have waited so long for their conquest, if that be their motive.  It is illogical to assume they wait for us to get stronger.  Indeed, if they have the means of crossing space, they should have the intelligence and the technology to vastly outdo us in military capability; so why not get it over with?  No, after all this time, conquest is surely not a viable motive, as it is in any alliance.  It’s unlikely that the UFOs and the government who built them want to form any alliance with the Earth since they must be so much more superior to us.  It would be like the United States forming an alliance with the bushmen tribes of Australia against the treat of World War III with Russia- Why bother?  And even if this were the motive, why the long wait?  Indeed, the failure of the UFO occupants to make contact with the Earth’s governments after all this time is the major stumbling block when assessing the motives of the aliens.

Comments:  One can readily find agreement with Frytz’ assessment of the situation, as did a now deceased contemporary of him, the preeminent esotericist and Fortean researcher, John A. Keel (1930-2009),  who reached the following conclusion regarding the entirety of ufology in 1969: “So the whole bag is far more complicated than just sitting around waiting for   the Venusians to land on the White House lawn.  If they were going to do that, they would have landed at the Vatican in 1600; or they would have landed in London in 1200, or they would have landed in Jerusalem, or what have you.”  The same can even more so be said of conquest by extraterrestrials:  If they were going to take over down here, they would have done it long ago.

3. Adventure:  It is perhaps possible that a family outing to Earth might be to the aliens as a camping or boating trip is to us and perhaps could be very exciting for an alien- something new and different- a place to “get away from it all,” so to speak.  I can just hear an alien wife saying, “But dear, we’ve vacationed so often on Saturn’s rings and Jupiter’s moons are so common place; let’s go somewhere different this year- I know, Earth!  It’s not expensive and not dry like Mars.  I’ll bet it’s really fun to watch Earth barbarians and scare Earth airline pilots and besides, Klobbpy needs to get an unusual pet for school, which are abundant on Earth.  After all, the Jones’ did it last year….”

And, of course, I guess the mother or cigar ships could be alien cruisers or some such.  But it is a bit too much to take, and bit disrespectful, to perhaps think of ourselves as a tourist attraction or museum for aliens from outer space.

Comments:  Perhaps this ascribed motivation of adventure is not as far-fetched at Frytz seems to think it is.  Attention is invited to Chapter 3 of my book, Vast Venus Conspiracy (Terra Alta, West Virginia:  Headline Books, 2020), titled the “Kenneth Arnold Files,” where we explore various cases of the Venusians and other friendly extraterrestrials visiting the Earth for the purposes of camping, fishing, horseback riding, practicing nudism, swimming, and conducting various other outdoor activities.  There is also a section in that chapter, “Venusian Tourism on Earth, George Adamski Speaks,” where the late California contactee opines on the importance of educational and recreational visits of our nearest planetary neighbors to the Earth.  Adamski highlighted the importance of this motivation to the Venusians and other members of Confederation planets in coming to our world when he said that, “One never grows so old as to stop attending classes of instruction.  Periodic travel on their planet and elsewhere through the cosmos in their luxury space liners is enjoyed by every individual on Venus, regardless of age.  They have learned well that, although one can learn many things through the study of records and miniature replicas, travel is a source of unending practical education which gives not only pleasure, but lessons of lasting pleasure, never forgotten.”

4. Social:  Might then, as has been suggested, UFO visits be social visits?  Is the Earth a place where aliens can release their castoffs, perhaps, or a place to help relieve alien overpopulation pressures?  This is very unlikely.  To use the Earth as their dumping grounds would presuppose the aliens to be able to exactly fit in with our society.  They would have to look identical to humans, which is incomprehensible.  Besides, what of past history?  What of birth certificates and all the pieces of identification one is blessed with in today’s world?  How would the aliens get that?  Certainly, it would seem to be easier for the aliens either to conquer us and then populate the Earth, or adapt to some other uninhabited planet than for them to infiltrate here in small numbers.

Comments:  As has been suggested in various science fiction books and movies, perhaps the Earth has served as a sort of intergalactic prison colony, much as Australia once served the interests of the British Empire as a dumping ground for its criminal element.  While ufologist Frytz tended toward dismissing the social equation in UFO visitations, the DNA evidence and legends of ancient astronauts like the Annunaki creating humans as a slave race through interbreeding with local inhabitants, needs to be seriously weighed in the balance.  If the Earth is a penal colony and humanity is a slave race, then the prisoner who believes himself free, will not rebel against his slavery, he will merely bow his head in silent acquiescence, blinded by illusions, his mind ensnared, bound within chains of ignorance. If the Annunaki never left, are we still living under a matrix system imposed upon us by them countless millennia ago?  

5. Self-Preservation:  Authors have mentioned that the UFO flux did not really begin until just after the world had entered the atomic age, hence a correlation or connection has been assumed, that UFO occupants are scared of us or scared of what we would do in waging atomic warfare and/or just using nuclear power in, and hence contaminating, space; and that is why UFOs occupants are keeping an eye out for us and on us.  

There is no real reason to believe that UFOs really became numerous after World War II.  That records and other observations from the past are not as frequent is true; but that does not mean that UFOs were not around in as great numbers.  Anyway, there is surely no proof of this and, no doubt, UFOs could forcibly stop us if they were so worried.  I’m sure that fact that we have nuclear bombs and other potential peaceful nuclear devices, like power plants, is of no great concern to the aliens, even if they are to ourselves.  Just as the bows and arrows of the Native Americans were of no great concern to the American settlers when compared to our rifles, so our A-bombs must seem primitive to UFO aliens.  And our nuclear capacity does not endanger the region of outer space to us through contamination, not compared to natural radiation already present in space.

Comments: Intelligence gathered on UFOs since 1969 has provided a contraindication of Frytz’ assertions.  That there are so many UFOs being reported near nuclear facilities and military installations worldwide—and why there isn’t more urgency on the part of the United States government to assess their potential national-security threat, have been top concerns voiced by a team of high-ranking former United States Department of Defense and intelligence officials, aerospace-industry veterans, academics and others associated with To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science. To the Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences is a company co-founded by Tom DeLonge, guitarist of Blink-182 and Angels and Airwaves; Harold E. Puthoff; and Jim Semivan. The company is composed of aerospace, science, and entertainment divisions and located in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The Academy team has been investigating a wide range of these sightings—and advocating more serious United States government attention.  For additional information, see the recently updated To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science official website at  To The Stars Academy of Arts & Science (Accessed 7 March 2021).  

6. Contact:  One universal favorite is the contactee; who, in this writer’s opinion, should be taken with a grain of salt.  In this category, it is assumed that UFO aliens are deeply religious and their mission is along missionary lines.  However, there is no pattern in UFO phenomena, nor any other reliable proof that aliens are religious or could even care less about converting us down here.  Anyway, if UFOs have been around for at least 22 years, with no attempt along these lines, excepting the very fortunate contactees, of course, it certainly seems they are not very ambitious at converting us- now are they?

Comments:  It seems to me that the UFO occupants may be more interesting in utilizing the contactees as a vanguard in planting the seeds of illumination preparing the human race for its coming transition into a greater galactic community.  Much of the knowledge imparted by the contactees about conditions conducive to life on other planets or even in other dimensions or planes of existence, have been vindicated with the ever-onward march of scientific investigation and discovery.

7. Economic:  Although not thought of too awfully seriously, some writers have suggested interplanetary trade as a motive and a solution.  However, it is unlikely we would have anything of economic value to offer these aliens; and again, why have they not manifested themselves and stated their desires?

Comments:  Nuclear physicist and prominent ufologist Stanton T. Friedman (29 July 1934 – 13 May 2019) had another opinion in regard to the Earth as a source of natural resources with extremely important economic value to an alien civilization.  In addressing the 12 June 1971 Midwest UFO Conference in St. Louis, Missouri, Friedman exploded many misconceptions previously held by many in the scientific community about UFOs, including Frytz’ economic contentions:

The nuclear physicist declared: “I should stress that the Earth also has readily available supplies of substances which we weren’t aware of or at least didn’t care about until recently.  Hydrogen isotopes are here in profusion and might be used to fuel fusion propulsion systems.  Liquid water is a far more convenient form of hydrogen than a gaseous ammonia or hydrogen itself.  Water, incidentally, has more hydrogen per cubic inch than has liquid hydrogen, strange as that may seem.

“Many other isotopes are also available along with the previously mentioned metals; and others, many of which were only lab curiosities until this century, such as uranium, rhenium, tantalum and zirconium.  The density of the Earth and the presence of water vapor, oxygen, nitrogen and a magnetic field can be determined from off the Earth.

“The Earth is also an attractive site for the growing of a fantastic variety of substances requiring water and sunlight and fertilizer of one sort or another, especially if one has access to all locations with an Earth Excursion Module (Friedman’s term for an alien spaceship visiting our planet).  Just consider the variety of farming conditions available in terms of type of soil, latitude, growing season, altitude, humidity, etc.  The sunlight is free and readily available.  The atmosphere, ocean and surfaces also provide a convenient source of raw materials for chemical processing, either here, onboard the mothership or on the Moon.”

8. Other:  The only thing that I can think of as “other” is the time-worn theory called the Hollow Earth theory, whereas the subterranean Earth is the home to another race, far in advance of us, who use flying saucers to journey around.  This idea has no supporting evidence for it and plenty of evidence against it, as anyone with a remote knowledge of geology, math and physics can testify or assert.  Only the extreme outer limits of the lunatic fringe have religious faith in it; and any further consideration of it here is a waste of time, energy and paper.  

Comments:  The idea that extraterrestrials have secret bases hidden from view, or even cloaked, undersea, in orbit, positioned on the far side of the Moon or stationed in vast subterranean caverns is not a new one.  The reader’s attention is invited to my book Lady Columba Venus Revelations (Terra Alta, West Virginia:  Headline Books, 2020), where 1950’s and 1960’s contactee Columba Krebs provides a detailed account of her visits to some of these saucer bases.  There may even be some evidence linking the presence of cavern dwellers to an ethereal region, as I noted in the series of articles on the “Riley Crabb Revelations” that I wrote for Lon Strickler’s Phantoms and Monsters website.  

9. Scientific:  This leaves me with the final grouping of motives, presented last as I feel it has the largest potential for being the correct solution.  Other motives by themselves or in combinations together as listed above might be classified as sub-motives; but the motive is scientific.  Why?

For any race capable of advanced technology, curiosity, and hence an understanding of science, is a must of necessity.  If one word, in fact, could be applied to describe the human being, it would have to be curiosity.  The same should be applied to aliens.  Raw materials plus intelligence plus ability plus curiosity equals knowledge; and technology is probably a universal law scattered throughout the millions of extraterrestrial societies in the vast cosmos.  

It is curiosity in the above formula which led man to explore the universe and compel him to journey outward and explore everything which crosses his path.  The same must of necessity be assumed and applied to aliens.  Curiosity is the motive that I believe drove the UFOnauts here.  Perhaps our atomic explosions attracted this curiosity, although I believe UFOs have been around in fairly great numbers for more than just 22 years.  Perhaps it was a chance encounter by an alien ship that has now led to the armada of ships.  Perhaps it was a planned, routine survey taken once every 10,000 years in the monitoring of the Earth.

In any event, I do believe it was curiosity that led the UFOs here, much the same as curiosity makes man explore Antarctica.  Already and clearly, there is enough evidence available to indicate that the UFOs are carrying out a widespread investigation of the Earth.  Speculation into this area, along with reported UFO observations and data of UFO phenomena, could fill many volumes, to be sure.

It is doubtful the aliens have any personal interest in it other than a scientific one.  They would, perhaps no doubt, look at us as we do at a society of ants.  And it is my prediction that when the UFOnauts finish their work, whether for good or until the next routine survey 10,000 years from now, they will leave, leaving us with the unsolved mystery we have had for the past 22 years.  Attempts on our part toward communication will be unsuccessful since “they” have clearly no desire to talk with us.  Why should they?  And if they did, why haven’t they, in the last 22 years, even tried?  I neglect the unsupported fables of the contactees, of course.  It is funny we are spending such much time and energy to study UFO aliens, when most likely they are having a much easier time of it in studying us.  

Comments:  Clearly, there is something of great import in the message of the contactees for all of humankind.  Despite individualized apperception of the UFO phenomenon on the part of each contactee,  the fact remains that they are the harbingers of a new age of enlightenment on the cusp of humankind’s more active participation in the greater cosmic community.  A true sense of this was captured as early as 1959 by the great Swiss psychologist Dr. Carl G. Jung in his classic work, Flying Saucers:  A Modern Myth of Things Seen in the Sky (Brooklyn, New York:  Harcourt Brace, 1959).  Jung was particularly obsessed with the case of the California contactee Orfeo Angelucci, with whom he placed a lot of confidence.  

John M. Frytz predicted in 1969 that, “The work of the ufologist will not get any easier.  They cannot ‘prove’ the existence of UFOs now; and it seems unlikely they will in the near future; and that future shouldn’t last much longer as any day the aliens’ work or curiosity could be finished and satisfied and they will go back to where they have come from, leaving us to our frustrations.  Perhaps the UFO phenomenon of today will then become the “Atlantis legend” of a couple of thousand years from now.”

It was clear that Frytz had been overly sold on the so-called “scientific approach” to the UFO phenomenon.  It has now become apparent that UFOs and the search for extraterrestrial or ultra-dimensional intelligences goes far beyond the reach of objective science; and closely parallels sundry aspects of the paranormal, shifting the focus on the subject more to the realm of subjectivity.  UFOs and their occupants may have more to do with a consciously projected future of super science and abundance for humankind as explorers in space and time than it every did with any test tube analysis of crashed saucer material and dead alien bodies, insofar as physical trace evidence for their existence is concerned.

Unknown Flying Object Observed Over Aon Center, South Loop Chicago

The Singular Fortean Society was contacted last week by Mary, a 47-year-old community college professor and resident of Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood, who wished to report that she and her son had seen a “strange object in the sky over the Aon Building” on May 9th of this year.

According to Mary’s initial report,

"I was walking with my son on Northerly Island (just south of Adler Planetarium) last night around 8:30 p.m. (dusk) and we saw a strange object in the sky over the Aon Building. I’m thinking it was the Chicago Mothman, but my son is convinced it was a powered paraglider, not because [we] clearly identified it as such, but because it is the only possible scientific explanation.

It was a black curved object moving at a constant speed, with little to no change in altitude. It did not have any visible lights or audible motor (however, we were approximately two miles away). It glided between buildings southbound through the entire Loop and continued over McCormick Place until it disappeared from sight.

I emailed a paragliding school to ask if it was normal for paragliders to fly in the loop at night. They replied that it is forbidden for paragliders to fly over congested areas.

I’m reaching out to you to see if anyone else reported seeing this object last night. Again, this was in the Loop, potentially thousands of people could have glimpsed it outside their window.

Any feedback you have would be greatly appreciated."

Investigator Tobias Wayland responded to Mary, informing her that no other reports of a similar object from that area have yet been received and asking a series of questions about her experience.

She described the object as being roughly seven meters (23 feet) long and three and a half meters (eleven and a half feet) wide.

"This was huge," Mary said. "At first glance we assumed it was a helicopter."

Neither Mary nor her son were able to make out any other details of the object, she explained, because they "were about two miles away, observing without binoculars."

She also informed the investigator that "Both my son and I experienced no paranormal elements prior, during, or after the sighting. We simply felt intensely confused and curious."

“I know someone had to have seen it, besides us, since it was gliding through such a densely populated area,” Mary said of the object. “I know that someone had to have seen this, so thank you for publishing my report.”

The dimensions of the object as reported by Mary fall well outside those normally described by witnesses of winged humanoids in the Lake Michigan Mothman investigation, but a husband and wife did report separate incidents involving what they described as a “prehistoric bird” with a 40-foot wingspan near Gary, Indiana in 2016. 

Both the husband and wife in the Gary sightings described a similar method of flight to what Mary and her son witnessed.

“The wings weren’t flapping,” the husband said of the winged creature he reported. “It was like it was just gliding.”

“The wings did not flap,” said his wife.

Gary is only about 30 miles southwest of the Aon Center in Chicago. Those sightings, like this one, occurred within the area around Lake Michigan where sightings of winged humanoids have consistently been reported since the spring of 2017.

It is not clear what, if any, connection there is between sightings of anomalous avians and pterosaurs, and the winged humanoid(s) referred to as Mothman.

Unexplained Event / 'Lost Time' Incident Along Rt. 422 Near Pennsylvania Turnpike

A couple, recently driving home at night to New Jersey after a visit in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania, believe they may have experienced 'lost time' or some other unexplained event eastbound along Rt 422.

I recently received the following account from a reader:
"I know this isn't a cryptid sighting, but it was very odd all the same and happened on PA Rt 422, where I know you have had some recent cryptid reports. Whether this somehow ties into that, I have no idea but I thought that it was interesting that it happened on the same road.
So I've been traveling Rt 422 for about 12 years. My wife's brother and his family live in Birdsboro, PA and we visit frequently throughout the year. From our home in Haddon Heights, NJ the trip usually takes about an hour and 15-20 minutes with no traffic or light traffic.
On Sunday night May 16, 2021 my wife and I had just finished a visit to her brother's for our niece's birthday. We left their house at approximately 9:50pm. I say it was 9:50pm because I recall telling my wife we should get going at 9:30pm but we then proceed to hang out and talk with my brother and sister-in-law for another 15-20 mins on our way out the door, which is not uncommon.
The trip home was our standard route. After some local roads near Birdsboro, PA we pick up Rt 422 E and take that until we pick up Rt 76 E (Schuylkill Expressway) at King of Prussia, PA and take that all the way over the Ben Franklin Bridge into NJ and then it's about 5-10 mins until we reach our home. On Rt 422 there is a section of road when you are about 10 mins away from the Rt 76E connection where Rt 422 banks both left and right and then passes by what I think is an area of retail shops and condos on the left side. You eventually come to a section of road where you need to move from the right lane to the left/passing lane because that lane eventually leads directly onto Rt 76 right near King of Prussia Mall. I mention all these nuances of the road for a reason. I'm very used to them and they give me a visual cue as to where I am and how long before I come up on the Rt 76E entrance.
On this particular night we had just gotten to the point on the road where I knew we were getting fairly close to Rt 76E and, in fact, there was an electronic sign over the road that said we were 7 minutes from Rt 76E. I thought to myself that that seemed about right. But then literally 10 seconds later I was confused because I kept seeing signs saying "Rt 76 This Lane" and I was perplexed and a bit disoriented. I was curious how/why they needed me to urgently get into a lane to enter Rt 76E when we were like 7 minutes from the entrance. No sooner had I tried to work this out in my head than I did, in fact, need to get into a particular lane because I was entering the section of road that banks hard left and winds onto Rt 76E.
My first instinct was to ask my wife if they had changed the road, maybe made it more direct and cut out a section of Rt 422. She wasn't really paying attention to the road so I explained that it seemed like we got to the Rt76E entrance really fast. As we drove onward I also noticed the time was reading 10:35pm. So...about 40-45 minutes since we left Birdsboro.
As we got closer to home I kept asking my wife if she thought we got home really fast because we were going to make it home in about an hour....maybe less. A really fast trip home from her brother's place. One we never made even close to that fast before. And even when we got home I texted my sister-in-law to let her know we made it home safe. Her response was "Wow! Speedy!". I said YES I KNOW.....it was, wasn't it? I went on to explain the facts I just recounted and she agreed that it was very strange.
Now....was this a case of missing time? I mean, to me it seems like it was but I want to make sure. We're going back up there for another family event in about 3 weeks. When we drive home I'm going to pay very close attention to the road, especially within 10 minutes or so of Rt 76E. If the areas of road that I'm used to are there and the trip is normal then it will solidify my belief that something bizarre happened that night." RP

Possible Cattle Abduction & Mutilation on North Dakota Ranch

A cattle ranch in North Dakota experiences the death and mutilation of two bulls. The incident has the hallmarks of an abduction and indiscriminate dumping of the mutilated carcasses.

I received the following account from Kyle & Cam at Expanded Perspectives:

"About 10 years ago I experienced a couple of cattle mutilations on our ranch (near Bismarck, North Dakota). We move our heifers and bulls out of a pasture and noticed we were missing our bulls and couldn’t find them.

The next day dad found one in a neighboring field dead. No fences busted for him to be there and no reason why he was dead. The coyotes, hawks and eagles had been on him so there wasn’t much left.

The day after that dad found the other bull dead as well. This one was found inside the pasture, where we had looked for him. He wasn’t hidden and we would have found him easily. The scavengers hadn’t touched this bull one bit, which was very odd.

The bull had no signs as to death. His head and neck were just fine. His sheath (protective sleeve for penis), scrotum, and rectum were all removed. Not torn off but precisely, medically removed, in perfect circles around the organs. The hide was removed down to the last layer of skin, then peeled off with the organ, about a 1 foot circle for each.

After seeing this, dad called a vet out to do an autopsy. After the vet took one look at the bull she left workout saying a word.

This is when I got home from school and came to help dad. He got a sheriff’s deputy to come out and record the incident. This deputy had set the high school record for weight lifting a couple years earlier, so he was a big guy. I rode with him out to the scene to help miss rocks in the pasture, and it was getting late in the day. He had every light on from his car and once we got out he was shining his handheld into the trees a lot. A spooky setting to say the least. He took plenty of pictures, we did roll him over and still couldn’t find any cause of death. There were no tracks from people or anything around him other than from us.

To this day I don’t know what happened. I haven’t asked dad about it since. We still use the pasture and haven’t had anything happen since then. I did find a link to an article that talks about some more recent cases." CJ

NOTE: This account has all the hallmarks of an abduction and indiscriminate dumping of the mutilated carcasses. I'm going to try and do a follow up to this in order to find other instances, if available. Lon

Pale Similarly Dressed 'Doll-Like Humanoids' Encountered in Fayetteville, Arkansas

A resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas describes 2 encounters with similar humanoids, one in front of a store and the others at a public housing apartment complex. Very strange.

I recently received the following account from a longtime reader:

"Hello, Lon,

I have enjoyed reading Phantoms and Monsters for several years and I appreciate all your work. I'm writing in response to the female humanoid sighting you posted on March 2. I had a couple of similar experiences and I feel the time has come to share them.

My first experience took place in November 2016. I had just moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas, where I still live. I had gone shopping at our local natural food co-op about 8:30 pm and was out in the parking lot unloading my groceries. The store had just closed. When I got in my car, I looked toward the store and saw something strange. A young man was pacing in front of the store. He was turned away from me so I couldn't see his face. He had black hair and very pale skin and wore black pants and a weird neon salmon colored short sleeve t-shirt. He never turned away from the store but continued walking back and forth about 25 feet away from the entrance. At the time, I figured he was under the influence of something and left quickly.

The second experience was in November 2017. I had gotten settled in Fayetteville and started doing volunteer work which took me to some poorer neighborhoods. I had become acquainted with a family who lived in public housing. On the day after Thanksgiving, one of the family members asked if I could give her a ride home from work since her regular ride wasn't available. I was able to do this and picked her up at 9 pm. I dropped her off but stayed to visit with the family for another hour. I didn't leave until almost 11 pm.

The public housing where they lived was built on the side of a hill. Normally I parked near their apartment but this time I had to park at the bottom of the hill. I walked quickly because it was late and not a great neighborhood. When I got to my car, I walked around it to where I was facing the apartments again and froze.

I saw two women in front of one of the other apartments. They were identical. Black hair in a bob style, white pale skin, black pants and the same odd neon salmon colored t-shirts of the man I saw before. I could see their hands didn't look normal, sort of like Barbie doll hands. I was completely paralyzed and just stared at them. Finally my reptile brain kicked in and screamed at me to get out and I ran around to my car and drove off.  As I left, they had started coming towards me.

After that, I decided to stay away from those apartments but I ended up going back briefly one evening in February 2018. I started feeling sick and nauseated within a half hour and the next day ended up in the ER with chest pains. Nothing specific was diagnosed.

I have been trying to figure this out ever since. I had read about the Black Eyed Kids and felt this was similar. I learned last year that the area of town in which both sightings occurred was where the Civil War Battle of Fayetteville took place and the apartments were next to a confederate cemetery, but I'm not sure if that was a contributing factor. I heard from other sources that residents of the apartments had reported seeing ghosts. All I know for sure is that what I saw wasn't human.

I would be interested in any other similar humanoid sightings you could share. Thank you, KM"

A frightening encounter with a strange creature was reported on Election Night, when a gray humanoid being that walked on all fours and screeched like a pig was seen by several witnesses. According to the witnesses, the entity crossed their path, turned, and began a very distinct high-pitched, pig-like squealing. It started chasing the witnesses as they ran down a path out of the field. They stopped half-way, and again it started squealing louder. It walked on all fours and appeared like a hairless, greyish, human-like creature. Its first appearance before the witnesses ran, it seemed awfully long and low to the ground, stopping midway, it perched up to look. The witnesses do not believe that it was trying to attack. Earlier in the week they had been out on the trail and noticed that in spots the grass had been pushed to the ground.

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Time: early morning
The witness had suddenly awakened feeling afraid and aware that something was wrong. He abruptly witness 3 creatures leaning over him. He attempted to reach his nightstand to grab his .38 revolver but as soon as he moved, one of the creatures pointed some sort of small light at him. There was a buzzing sound, and he was suddenly paralyzed. His wife was still sleeping, but he was unable to look at her. The next thing he remembers was laying naked on a cold metal surface. The creatures were transporting him through a bizarre hallway; grayish walls with a reptile scale texture to it. It was very warm and moist and had a sickening “fishy” odor. The hallway was very bright. He could start to move, but this body was stuck to the metal surface. They briefly stopped moving and he was able to glance into a lighted room on his right.
There were several of these creatures examining a large floating square with a digital map of the Earth that was turning. There were lighted “targets” on the map, which seemed to designate positions of cities. There was another taller creature among them, but he did not get a good look at it. He was soon being moved to a well-lit and very loud room. It sounded like a huge ventilation fan was running, though he did not see anything. One of the creatures waved its 4-fingered hand over the witness’ face. As soon as that happened, he went completely numb. He could still see, even though he felt drowsy and could not speak. A long metal tube was inserted deep into his nose and sinuses, and soon a similar shaped tube was inserted into his mouth, reaching far back into his throat. He started to gag, and it was quickly removed. They were also removing samples of tissue and hair, but he only felt pressure while this occurred.
After that, everything was a blur; though he remembers walking in his bed and looking at his clock. It was 5:37 a.m. His body ached all over. He attempted to wake his wife, but she was totally non-responsive. He believes that she had been drugged. There were no wounds, but he was terribly sore in his groin and neck. The creatures stood about 5ft tall and wore no clothes. Their bodies had no sexual features and the arms exceptionally long. Their skin was greenish gray in color and hairless. Their heads were large and turnip-shaped, with large almond-shaped black eyes. No ears, just a small hole on each side of their heads. There were nostrils, but more like a pair of nickel-sized orifices. Their mouths were small, and he never saw them open.

Location: Pantano Del Ebro, Cantabria, Spain
Date: December 2016
Time: after midnight
The witness had almost arrived at a local lake to fish for crabs, he was going to stop his vehicle to gather his gear when suddenly something struck the driver’s side windshield, shattering it. Startled he looked up and saw a dark forearm, backing away. Immediately he stopped and stepped out of the vehicle and saw standing nearby a very tall dark-clad figure, wearing a sort of black robe. It stood about 50m away from the witness. It was over 2-meters in height and the witness could not see any facial features. The robe reached all the way to the ground ending in a sort of triangular shape. In a panic he ran back inside his vehicle and then heard two loud banging sounds and realized that two front tires had somehow exploded. He drove the vehicle and crashed into a fire hydrant on the side of the road, injuring his mouth and losing some teeth. He could still see the figure observing him from behind. He remained inside his vehicle. He felt that the figure had stared at him in a threatening manner. His next memory was of being woken up by a local resident banging on the passenger side windshield. He felt confused and was not sure where he was.

Location: near Lac Du Bonnet, Manitoba, Canada

Time: midnight
The witness’s husband had gone to bed slightly before her, he was on the far side of the bed facing towards her side and the door. She came to bed a little bit after he did. She laid down and closed her eyes. She reopened her eyes, and she had an uneasy feeling and saw a grey entity standing beside her husband. She immediately closed her eyes tight as she was so scared. She re-opened her eyes to make sure that what she had seen was really there. It was still standing beside her husband looking at both of them. She was not dreaming as she had just laid down. She kept her eyes closed and went to sleep shortly after. Both of them slept through the night which was totally unusual for both of them as they woke up feeling very refreshed. Shortly after the encounter her husband’s hair began to fall out in patches all over his head and his hair went very grey with a broad grey streak down the top center of his head. She also lost a significant amount of hair from her head but mostly top center of her head. She did not get patches like her husband.
The bald patches on her husband’s head did not grow in for several months and then started to grow in. After the encounter, her husband was almost totally grey-haired. Slowly his patches began growing back in, but the new hair was totally dark brown with little or no grey. His remaining hair started growing out dark brown. At this time, his hair is almost pure dark brown as it was before the encounter, but his beard remains white. They discussed the encounter with each other and feel that they were likely affected by radiation from the entity, and they may have been abducted and returned.

Location: near Vail, Arizona

Time: 2:00 a.m.
The main witness was visiting a friend who lived in Vail, he stayed over late that evening. Around 2am, he left their house to drive about 25 minutes down I-10 towards home. Driving about 50 mph, while approaching a rise in the road, he saw a silhouette. Before he even processed that he was observing something he soon realized that he had slowed and eventually stopped on the shoulder to get a better view. It was about 20 yards or so away, standing almost in the middle of the road. Because of the rise in the road, he could only see this form from the hips up. It was very tall and looked human-like. Very skinny, with long thin arms and skin that was dark, leathery, and dry; though there was a “sheen” to the body. They eyes were reflective red color. He could not tell if it was looking at him or not. There was not any car in sight at the time.
The witness is usually very calm during emergency situations, but confronting this creature, the panic switch flipped. His mind is telling him to hit the gas, but he just sat there, staring at the creature. He looked down for a second, considering turning around and driving back to his friend’s house. He put the car in first gear, looked back up and the creature was gone. He immediately drove towards his house. He was shivering uncontrollably the whole way home. He pulled into the driveway, walked in the kitchen door, and became violently ill. He literally passed out in the bathroom. He did not wake until about 1pm that day. He dragged himself off the bathroom floor and immediately went to bed. He was totally exhausted and just wanted to sleep. He rarely left the bedroom for the next 5 days. He had no appetite and it seemed like ever bone in his body ached. One of his friends eventually came over and helped him into the living room. He ate a little bit, but he was still very tired and despondent.

Humanoids 5: Recent Additions to the Rosales Database

Thanks to Albert S. Rosales for providing the newest humanoid updates from his ever-expanding database. These particular reports were from 1978:

Location. Between Zhigulyevsk & Togliatti, Kyibyshev region, Russia

Date: 1978

Time: daytime

A woman was on a bus on her way to Togliatti from Zhigulyevsk and before arriving to the next scheduled stop the woman glanced outside the window and noticed only two or three men waiting for the bus. But when the bus stopped and the doors opened a total of eight men entered the cabin of the bus, 5 of them were visibly “abnormal” in appearance. The strange men were dressed alike, in brown cloaks, brown suits, brown ties, beige shirts and suede caps. All had beards on gaunt emotionless faces. Their most remarkable feature was their huge eyes, which emanated a “powerful” force, as if they had the power of total understanding, much more than the normal passengers onboard the bus. A woman also accompanied the strange group; she was like the men also dressed in brown clothing. She wore a colorful triangular scarf in sharp dissonance with her other clothing. Another amazing detail about the strange men was that their faces were similar, to the very diminutive details, like twins or “clones”. The five strange men stood in a circle, with their backs to each other, apparently to keep their surroundings in constant surveillance. An elderly woman onboard the bus was involved in a dispute with another female on the bus about being able the seating arrangements and attempted to push the other woman when suddenly one of the strange men, without looking at the women, coldly commented, “It will be worse on her”. (?). The bus continued its normal route with the “normal” passengers now onboard the bus in a state of calm of watchful relaxation, possibly because of the presence of the strange men. The passengers all stopped talking among each other, only exchanging worried glances. The main female witness was convinced that the strangers communicated between them by using telepathy. When the bus reached a river port on the Volga River the strangers exited the bus, at the same time another bus was passing by and temporarily obscured the bus of the strange group, for maybe 3 or 4 seconds, however when the bus completed it passing the strange group was nowhere in sight. There were no buildings in the area where they could have gone into, nor cars or other type of transportation. The strange group had simply vanished.

Time: daytime

Academician Lev N. Melnikov was riding in an overcrowded bus near the “Dinamo” subway station, as he sat, he noticed a strange man sitting nearby. Somehow the witness immediately thought that the stranger “must be an alien”. The stranger was different from all the other passengers on the bus; he had a long seemingly transparent nose with only one opening. Lev had the impression that the man’s nose had been cut off and a prosthetic appliance was used to replace it, it appeared to be made from something remotely resembling plastic. That was only an impression. But in other details the strange man was frightening in his appearance, and behavior. In general, the man’s demeanor was cold, and expressionless. The bus made a brief stop, and the strange man exited the bus and Lev never saw him again.

Location. Atlantic Ocean 90 miles east of the Georgia coast

Date: 1978

Time: 1400

While around 90 miles off the eastern coast of Georgia onboard a military vessel that was stationary in the water giving a foreign freighter needed fuel a contact appeared on the radar scope that was verified as a “true echo” as well as not a craft that is from the United States or an allied nation. This echo was showing up at 900 feet altitude which is the exact height that the surface search radar ends & the air search radar begins. As the echo faded from the surface search radar it began appearing brilliantly on the air search radar, then vice versa. Around 10 minutes later upon exiting the radar room to go outside for a possible visual the main witness immediately noticed that it had become quite foggy outside. Visibility was less than 50 feet. Yet, the last weather observation was low humidity, 74 degrees and a calm wind. Upon arriving to the port side of the ship & looking upward about 45 degrees toward the bearing the echo showed on the radars, it was witnessed that within the fog was a diamond shaped object that was showing various colors like that of a gem. There was no sound whatsoever coming from the object, nor was it moving. Once atop the bridge (called flying bridge) a ‘bolted to the deck’ double lens telescope was swung towards the object’s direction. Once focused on the object one could see what was the outline of what appeared to the window area of a ship the various lights emitted from this craft seemed to come from all areas except the windows area. The windows area appeared as a dark tinted set of windows, and there seemed to be motion coming from inside the glass though one could not get a very clear view through the tinted glass along with the fog that was drifting past the windows in waves. The windows area appeared to be angling downward towards the ship, the bottom pointed end of the craft appeared to be slanted back while the pointed top appeared to be pointing forward as was the tinted windows just below the top point of this craft. It was decided to go back to the radar room to attempt to get further data established without alerting any officer or crewmate. Once back inside the radar room the echo was still appearing on either the surface search or the air search radars. It was then that it was decided that this craft was aware of the radar antenna’s ‘beam-widths’. However, this craft was not completely successful in hiding itself completely either with the heavy fog or between the beamwidths of the two antennas. As minutes passed it was noticed that this echo began to move. This echo was plotted during 3 complete sweeps from the air search radar (set at 350miles). After the 3rd sweep the echo disappeared completely off the radar screen. Once the object was gone the strange fog also disappeared.

Location. Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Date: 1978

Time: afternoon

The witness, Kim Pompey Del Rio who was 13 years of age at time had become extremely ill with complications from the mumps and lay, in serious pain, on the couch for over a week. One afternoon her mom came into the living room to check on her, as she left the room Kim noticed something strange on the windowsill across from her. There, standing on the still of one of the twins, stained glass windows were two little people. They were about eight inches tall. They had greenish skin and clothes. At least, she thought they had clothes, as the color of their faces and hands were lighter than the rest of their bodies, giving the appearance of a suit of sorts, with attached sorts. They both had on pointy hats---that, or their heads ended in curvy points toward the backs. They had big black eyes and wide-open black mouths with no visible teeth. They had tiny noses, but no ears that she could see. Their limbs were long and thin, as were their fingers. The tips of their feet ended in a point just like their heads. They were identical to each other except that one seemed a little taller than the other.

The one thing that really disturbed her was not the fact that she was looking at two little green people, it was that these little green people were looking at her. One was bent at the waist, pointing at her and even slapped its knee. But although they were laughing, she never heard them make a sound. She does not recall how long she looked at them. She also does not recall what happened after that. She may have fallen asleep, or something may have distracted her.

Time: 14:00

A local civil guard, Juan Mesa, was on guard duty when around 2pm he heard several dogs barking. During that time there had been numerous attacks and murders by the Basque terror group ETA, and this caused Mesa to arm himself and along with two other guards readied themselves for a possible attack. Suddenly on top of the church roof located across from their police station the men saw a strange object approach at high speed. The object appeared to be made from “iron” and was about 50 meters in diameter with a reddish circle on its lower section about 10 meters in diameter. The object stops to hover on top of the church and illuminates the three civil guards with a powerful white beam of light. Juan Mesa loaded his submachine gun and pointed it at the hovering object, however one of his companions argued against using any force against the unknown craft. Within the red circle there appeared to be a transparent section and within that area the men could see three tall shadowy figures that were moving around. Eventually all three shadows converged in the middle of the circle and Mesa had the strange feeling that the occupants of the strange craft were “deciding something about them” and felt completely helpless in the face of such incredible technology. Moments later the beam of white light was extinguished, and the object departed at high speed. The three men ran towards the rear of the police station to see where the object was heading but only managed to see two small lights resembling “small moons” flying above the Iruzubieta Forest about 5-7 kilometers away. The three guards decided not to report the incident to their superiors.

Manifestations of Cryptid Beings: Interdimensional Rifts or Glimpses Into Alternate Realities?

A reader describes past incidents experienced by relatives in the UK, including a thin black red-eyed being and a white featureless humanoid. Where are they coming from?

I recently received the following inquiry from a reader:

"What I thought was interesting was the dark winged creatures with sometimes glowing eyes that you were discussing.

My brother told me that he was camping at Overstone Grounds, Northampton, England when he had a encounter with something that sounds similar to what you were describing. Although he never stated that he noticed it had wings, he did describe it as tall, thin, jet black body with dimly lit red eyes. He said it wasn’t moving but just staring at him with what he thought was a aggressive posture.

He looked around to see if anybody else was outside their tents awake and as he looked back the being was gone. He stated it made no sound at any point and there was no communication of any kind. My brother has no interest or belief in the paranormal.

The second encounter involved my son and his friend at my previous address. They was both playing upstairs in the main bedroom when they then decided to come downstairs. As they walked past my bedroom they stated that they both saw what they described as a tall white figure standing next to the bed. They said it paid no attention to them and slowly walked towards the window until completely disappearing. My son described it has having no facial features and what looked like a white aura emitting from it.

I’ve also had a couple of small occurrences myself involving a incident with a jet black dog and numerous EVP responses. Do you have any theories as to what these encounters could be related to? From the research I have done I’m stuck between extraterrestrial and/or interdimensional. Best regards. MT"

NOTE: to answer MT's inquiry, I believe that these sightings are more likely to be the result of brief openings of interdimensional rifts, as opposed to glimpses into other alternate realities or parallel worlds. The Chicago / Lake Michigan winged humanoid phenomenon also falls into this category in my opinion.

Nonetheless, both of these theories are based on conjecture at this point in time. We may eventually be able to find more concrete evidence, but it will most likely require mainstream applications of quantum computing and a more advanced understanding of particle physics. Lon

7-8 Ft. Tall Red-Eyed Winged Being Encountered by O'Hara Chicago Dept. of Aviation Employee

A Chicago Department of Aviation employee has an encounter with a black red-eyed 7-8 foot tall winged being outside of her place of employment as she left work.

The following report was received by Phantoms & Monsters Fortean Research investigator Manuel Navarette:

"Good Afternoon - I wanted to relate a possible sighting of the Chicago Mothman that I had on April 15, 2021 at approximately 9pm at Chicago O’Hare. I initially was not going to report this and had kept it to myself for fear of someone thinking I had lost my mind and was seeing things. That changed when I read the sighting that was posted on Facebook about the gentleman who had the Mothman sighting not even two blocks from where I work. The sighting prompted me to look up your website and eventually send this to you.

I work for the Chicago Department of Aviation at the office located on the airport grounds. I have worked there for about 9 years and had previously worked at the airport in another capacity for 5 years prior. I know the airport like I know the palm of my hand and I have heard the stories that people tell about all the strange going-ons that happen with surprising frequency.

My sighting happened after I stayed late to catch up on work and had left about 9pm. As I walked out of the building into the parking lot, I heard what I could only describe as wings fluttering, kind of like you hear when a bird is going to take off or land. I dismissed it as just geese as the airport has literally hundreds of them that hang around doing whatever geese seem to do. What followed was a loud screech, nothing like a goose’s honk but a very, very loud ear splitting screech like what you hear when a train is applying it’s brakes but it was different as it went from a higher octave to a lower one and then higher again. I know it was not the train as the train tracks are on the other side of the airport, about 3-4 miles away.

I continued walking toward my car when I heard the screech again and it sounded like it was coming from behind me. I turned and looked toward the trees over by the road and saw what looked like two red eyes looking right at me. I stood there looking at those eyes for what seemed an eternity, I couldn’t move and it felt like the air was being sucked out of my lungs almost like I was having an asthma attack. I saw this thing emerge from around the trees, it was illuminated from behind by the warehouses that were across the road and it must have been 7-8 feet tall and was black. About this time a large truck was coming down the road and it shot into the air and was gone in the matter of a second. I stood there for a few seconds, still too afraid to move when I finally came to my senses and practically sprinted for my car. I could not get into my car fast enough and as I closed the door, I heard the screech again. I turned on my car and left as quickly as I could.

I am not one for over exaggerations but I felt almost as if I was being stalked. I felt sick to my stomach for 2-3 days after that encounter and it took just as long for the feelings of paranoia to finally go away. It was the feeling of utter and complete hopelessness that disturbed me the most and it helped contribute to my hesitancy of telling someone, I didn’t even tell my boyfriend of this until after I had decided to send this to you."

Investigators Notes:

I spoke with the witness via email and IM and after lengthy discussions about her job at the Chicago Department of Aviation she proceeded to tell me about her sighting. The office where she works is located almost directly in line with the structure where the previously submitted winged humanoid sighting occurred. It is approximately 300 yards away and within visual sight of the office. The witness advised that she parked on the other side of the building, facing the tarmac and cargo offloading area for a pair of long warehouses that house a multitude of air cargo companies based out of O’Hare. It is also within a city block of a reported sighting last year by a cargo company employee that was submitted to Phantoms and Monsters in approximately 2019.

The witness says she left her office at approximately 2100 and was walking to her car. I asked her if she saw anything as she initially walked out and she said she did not as she was checking her phone and did not look up. When asked about the sound of what she described as “flapping wings” the witness advised that there are geese in the area nearly every single day and she just assumed it was a goose that was in the parking lot or nearby and paid it no mind. When asked about the screeching sound, the witness said that even now the thought of that sound sends chills down her spine and brings up a feeling of fear in her. The witness said it sounded like train brakes but modulating from high to low and it would fade off before coming back again.

When asked about the sighting of the entity itself, the witness said that from the moment she saw it, she was frozen in fear and could not move, her mind was only focused on the eyes and everything else seemed to fade into the background. When the entity came out from behind the trees it stood there and stared at her for a few seconds before the vehicle interrupted the encounter. When asked if it made any advancement toward her, the witness said that it did not, yet she felt as if it was sizing her up or stalking her. When the vehicle coming down the road caused the creature to fly away, the witness stated that she still felt spellbound for a few seconds, almost as if in a trance.

When asked to describe the entity, she only said it was black, skinny and tall approximately 7-8 feet tall and that it had glowing red eyes. She described the wings as black and an estimated 10 foot wide span. She said that from the time of the entity unfurling its wings to the time it was in the air was only a matter of 1-2 seconds after which it was out of sight.

After speaking with the witness, it is the investigators opinion that she did witness something and that this case merits further investigation. A visit to the site of the incident will be conducted soon and all photos and data obtained will be posted on the website for all to see.
