Witness Chases YELLOW-EYED 'GLIMMER MAN' in Davidson County, Tennessee Woods

A Tennessee man is walking his dog when he gets the feeling that something is watching him. As he scans the trees he observes a 'Glimmer Man' entity with flashing yellow eyes.

I received the following account:

"Hello. Around 1994 I was living near Nashville, Tennessee in a small neighborhood called Antioch. This is in Davidson County. I was out walking my dog one day letting the dog do its business out in the front yard when I could sense something was watching me. It was about three o'clock in the afternoon and everyone around there was at work except me. I could just feel something watching me.

I started looking at the woods directly in front of me. I couldn't see anything, but I did hear leaves rustling in the trees. So I started looking up towards the tops of the trees. The only way I could describe it, and I don't even know if the movie had come out yet, was the cloaked alien in the 'Predator' film. In the movie, they saw that invisible creature where you could see the outline of everything but you can see right through it.

It was sitting up in the very tops of the trees where it wouldn't hold the weight of a man by any means. This thing was as big as a man. I just stood there looking at it when I saw a quick flash of its eyes. It was a sudden bright yellow glow. I let go of the leash and I took off on a dead run towards this thing. It literally started running across the tops of the trees. I know what I saw.

While running, I thought about what I was doing. I then thought what in the world are you doing chasing this thing? I stopped and it stopped, about a length of a football field away from where it started. It turned around and looked at me again with the flashing yellow eyes and then it took off out through the woods through the tops of the trees out into the deeper woods. I didn't see it again. It scared the hell out of me. I never ever told anybody about it because I thought people would think I was crazy." B

There is a distinct group of human-like entities that are part of ufology lore and, for the most part, associated with people who experience UFO and otherworldly close encounters. These are the ‘Men in Black’ or MIB. These entities usually show up, unannounced, at an experiencer’s home, seeking information about an incident.
The presence of these MIB became widely known during reported UFO activity (and the Mothman encounters) in the Point Pleasant, West Virginia area in the late 1960s. The journalist and ufologist John A. Keel began writing about the MIB after they made themselves known to the residents. The descriptions of these MIB were somewhat consistent; pale or olive-colored skin, monotone voice, no emotion or expression, dressed in a black suit and fedora, and driving a large black sedan. There were usually two MIB traveling together.
However, the most disconcerting aspect of their presence occurred after they conducted a brief interview. They would warn the witness, in no uncertain terms, not to discuss or report what they had observed. The message was clear. Keep your mouth shut.
Most experiencers and investigators don’t know what to make of the MIB. Are they quasi-government agents? How do they know who to contact? In most instances, they appear not long after an encounter and before a report is ever made. They truly are an enigma. But I believe that there is another explanation for their presence. Namely, that the MIB are an alien 'clean-up' crew who are used to cover up problematic sightings and encounters.

Reader's Accounts of MOTHMAN & OTHER MONSTERS in West Virginia

A reader wrote to me about various cryptid and unexplained encounters that her family, neighbors, and herself had experienced while living in the mountains of West Virginia.

I received the following account:

"I'm writing today because I just read the story from the lady who is claiming the Mothman lived in her backyard. I don't completely disbelieve her claims as I'm in no position to do so. That's up to you and your investigators. I do know we have lots of underground creatures and many unexplained things in the woods.

I wanted to tell you about an experience I had when I still lived back home in Wayne, West Virginia. It was around 2003. It was Fall, I think.

Being that I grew up in the WV mountains, I've always been aware of the stories of the Mothman, creatures similar to the Mothman, and what my great-grandmother called 'panthers.' I don't know what these 'panthers' really were, but she had a ton of stories about her father having to outsmart them and keep them away while traveling through the woods to get to town. I know she wasn't describing a mountain lion or bobcat. We all know what those are, and as far as I know, those hills aren't roaming grounds for mountain lions.

They always said these creatures were vicious! They'd snatch who and whatever they could. However, they were afraid of fire.

So, it's Fall. My ex-husband and I had been at my aunt's house for a birthday party. She lives on a country road with the mountains behind the house. For miles, there's nothing but woods back there.

We were the 1st to leave. It was around dusk, and I was following my ex-husband out to the car while carrying my 2-year-old son. Right before we reached the car we were stopped dead in our tracks by the creepiest sound I have ever heard! It was so loud, echoing off the hills. It sounded very similar to a woman screaming bloody murder (just like the stories my great-grandmother told) but was definitely NOT a woman. It was one of those sounds that just feels ominous and sends those cold chills down your spine.

I looked at my ex-husband and could tell it frightened him (that's what scared me more than anything). He was an avid woodsman and hunter. He knew the woods, could happily live in a tent in the woods, and wasn't afraid of much in life in general.

I started searching the tree line with my eyes just trying to see if I could see it. I could feel it staring right down at us. Yet, we were both kind of frozen in shock.

Then, he gave me a look and told me to get my son and myself in the car immediately. I did but thought we probably should have told everyone in the house to be careful when they went to leave.

That was the only time in the 25 years I lived in WV that I heard that sound. Though, I continued to hear stories over the years. I don't know what that thing really is, and I don't want to find out personally.

I also had a neighbor in 2006 that told me some pretty scary stuff. She said she was living in a house on Buffalo Creek Rd. in Wayne County, WV.

This is a backroad. Woods and mountains on both sides. My family owned quite a bit of land out there. There were mounds up on the mountains where the Native Americans buried their dead.

She said there was an old cabin a little ways behind and to the right of the house. She was there alone. It was dark and getting late, so she decided to go to bed. She said as soon as she turned the lights off, she started hearing lots of racket coming from the cabin. Like pots and pans clanging together, glass breaking, etc. She thought it was a group of rowdy teens messing around in there. So, she went out on the porch and yelled to tell them to hit the road. The noise stopped, but she didn't see any kids. She went back in to grab a flashlight and went closer to the cabin to investigate. She could see something dark move passed the windows. She shined the light in and it apparently looked right out the window at her. She booked it back to the house and locked herself in.

She described it as 'Mothman-like' but she didn't think for sure that's what it was. She said it was pure evil. You could feel it. She said it was taller than her. All dark in color. Red eyes. Walked upright.

I believed her. She wasn't one to make things up, and she was clearly frightened to tell the story.

To make matters worse, that wasn't the last encounter that she had with the creature.

There was another night when she was babysitting her nieces and nephews. She said it came up on the porch and started pacing back and forth. You could hear the boards creek with every step.

They locked everything up, and all ran into her bedroom and locked themselves in. They all were huddled together on the bed when it came around to the window. I guess it rapped on the window and scratched at it. They literally all hid under the covers.

I guess they were all screaming and freaking out. She said it eventually went back to the front porch and was there until close to dawn.

It wasn't long after that they moved. Now, I will say that I loved being in those woods on Buffalo Creek. During the day. We always had fun. We'd find arrowheads and all kinds of different treasures the Indians left behind. At night, however, we wanted to be inside. I hated the back room. Closest to the woods (my great-grandfather built several houses on that road. My family still lives there). It just always felt like there was something out there at night. The natural noises would get quiet all of a sudden. It just always seemed scary at night. Even as an adult, I would run from the car to the house. I don't know what's out there, but I'd say there are too many stories and witnesses to discount it.

UNEXPLAINED EXPERIENCES: Alien Encounters, Cattle Mutilations, Lost Time, & The Military

I received a very odd email from a woman who recalls several bizarre incidents from her childhood, including possible alien close encounters, lost time, and military monitoring.

"When 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' was released my aunt was in town (me starting elementary school). I went with my aunt and grandparents to see it. Aunt Jan started acting all freaked out during the movie (I thought, whatever, she was the hippie in our uptight family). After we got home Aunt Jan blurted out, "Those were the things talking to me from my bedroom TV as a kid on the farm!". My grandparents did the parental "look" and finally my grandmother said, "Jan, we didn't own a single TV when we lived there. They came to your window." That surprised me. My dad and mom moved into the farm after my grandparents built their new house. My bedroom was once Aunt Jan's. I never saw anything.

My dad was driving from San Diego, CA to Lubbock, Texas and while driving across White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico (yes, you once could cross) he experienced 4 hours of lost time but had a full tank of gas on the other side.

Skip to about 3 years later. The southern high-rolling plains of Texas (near Lubbock) had a serious amount of cattle mutilations, many across the railroad tracks from our farm (home). Mom was a veterinarian and was called out by the sheriff to do necropsies. Zero footprints, not even the bovines, zero blood on the ground (yet none in the animals), reproductive organs removed, and no bleeding around said wounds. Laser surgery did NOT exist back then. The press called it satanic. But if so, where was the blood and footprints? A full-grown bull is an easy half-ton plus, gallons of blood. Yet not a drop was found. Taking a half-ton bull to the ground isn't easy, even for the best cowboy.

We were told by the public school system that we were part of an intelligence test. It started in the 6th grade. USAF officers (my granddad was USAF, I know USAF) would show up 2x per year and give us the test. There were only 14 of us. We all topped 160 on the IQ test!. Outside of band or sports, we were sequestered from all our classmates. We had our own classes. I went on to work in hospital finance. Several of my classmates went to MIT and Stanford." KS

UFO PHOTOS & Possible Bigfoot Encounter in Michigan

A retired Michigan dairy farmer shares his sighting of a possibly Bigfoot while spotting deer at night. He also provides UFO trail cam photos that he captured on his farm.

"I'm a retired 62-year-old dairy farmer. Back in 1980 an old girlfriend and I wanted to spotlight some deer. Around 11 PM we turned on a road and I turned the light on along the driver's side. At about 150 to 200 yards was someone or something walking in an alfalfa field moving up a slight hill. When I hit it with the light it turned a little and looked at us. It was dark colored from head to toe. I can't remember if there was any eye shine or not. It never changed its speed of walking. If it was a man you would think it would have waved or something and would have probably had a flashlight.

Anyway, my girlfriend freaked out and screamed to get the hell out of there, so I did. I got down the road about a quarter mile and realized that I had the binoculars right on the dash and in all the commotion I forgot to use them.

Just two years ago I came across a comment about a sighting about the same year by a bow hunter. It's just down the road about two miles from where we saw that thing.

I've included some UFO photos from my trail camera that I mounted to my barn. Every winter I would leave corn for the deer, so I wanted to see if any nice bucks would show up. The UFO pictures were taken on December 22, 2016. Michigan MUFON told me that they were definitely UFOs. (Below)."

There is a distinct group of human-like entities that are part of ufology lore and, for the most part, associated with people who experience UFO and otherworldly close encounters. These are the ‘Men in Black’ or MIB. These entities usually show up, unannounced, at an experiencer’s home, seeking information about an incident.
The presence of these MIB became widely known during reported UFO activity (and the Mothman encounters) in the Point Pleasant, West Virginia area in the late 1960s. The journalist and ufologist John A. Keel began writing about the MIB after they made themselves known to the residents. The descriptions of these MIB were somewhat consistent; pale or olive-colored skin, monotone voice, no emotion or expression, dressed in a black suit and fedora, and driving a large black sedan. There were usually two MIB traveling together.
However, the most disconcerting aspect of their presence occurred after they conducted a brief interview. They would warn the witness, in no uncertain terms, not to discuss or report what they had observed. The message was clear. Keep your mouth shut.
Most experiencers and investigators don’t know what to make of the MIB. Are they quasi-government agents? How do they know who to contact? In most instances, they appear not long after an encounter and before a report is ever made. They truly are an enigma. But I believe that there is another explanation for their presence. Namely, that the MIB are an alien 'clean-up' crew who are used to cover up problematic sightings and encounters.
So, what do you think the Men in Black are? Just maintain an open mind, and formulate your theories to this phenomenon. I will present the reports in detail and attempt to answer your questions from the chat room.

UPDATE: UPRIGHT CRYPTID CANINE HOME INTRUSION Reported by Maryland Police Detective

A law enforcement officer, living in Howard County, Maryland, contacted me about a frightening cryptid canine encounter in his home in early 2021. I recently visited the location.

UPDATE: On Saturday, October 14, 2023, I traveled to the location, which is near Clarksville, Howard County, Maryland. It is a semi-rural location, adjacent to the  Middle Patuxent Environmental Area, which is a preserved parkland with nature trails and a variety of plants & wildlife.

The weather was very wet with continuous rain. I did manage to examine the areas where the witness had stated he heard strange noises over the past 2 years since his encounter. He does believe that the creature still inhabits the area. I have not received any indication that other witnesses to this creature currently exist.

The witness showed me several photographs of the damage created by the creature. I was not given permission to use or post. I will state that there was an extensive amount of broken glass in the kitchen and dining room depicted in the photos. There were also claw marks visible on the dining room table and kitchen door.

I will continue to monitor the location and provide any further updates. Below is the original report:

"I was a Baltimore Police Department detective and, at the time, in early 2021, I worked directly out of the Northern District in the city.

On the night in question, I was in my office at home late at night in suburban Howard County, Maryland. I live alone. I often would find myself unable to sleep at night, so I would head to my office to work. That particular night I was going through a case file that I was working on.

Then I heard an unusual noise. It was just different enough from anything I was used to hearing around the house that it caught my attention, not to mention it was around two o'clock in the morning. It sounded like something heavy was hitting the ground. It was coming from the yard behind the house. I stood up and I cocked my head to the side to try and pinpoint the exact location. But as I listened closer I realized that it sounded like it might actually be much closer to the house, like right outside the kitchen in the back.

I stepped away from my desk and I moved towards my office door. My office was just down the hall from the kitchen. So I opened the door slowly and stepped out to investigate, but first I listened again to be sure I was correct on the direction it was coming from. Sure enough, I heard it again from the area outside the kitchen. I started to make my way down the hallway and as I got closer the noise got louder. I reached the kitchen and I looked toward the door. The noise had gone silent, almost like whatever was making the noise knew I was listening to it. I slowly and very quietly opened the door to the outside. When I did I was shocked at what I was looking at!

Standing on the patio, moving around and making the noise, was a creature, unlike anything I had ever seen before. It was about seven feet tall and totally covered in black and reddish-brown fur. It had a long snout with teeth protruding at odd angles. The creature turned towards me when the door opened, almost like it instinctively knew I was there. I was totally quiet when I opened the door. The creature quickly focused on me and lunged toward me hissing! I quickly stepped back inside and shut the door.

I had to think fast and determine a suitable plan of action. I decided to head back to my office where I hoped to watch it undetected from my office window. I proceeded to look through the window but it wasn't long before I heard the sounds of the creature breaking into the house through the kitchen door. I pulled out my gun and I aimed it down the hallway. As I slowly opened the office door. I could hear, but not see, the creature in the kitchen. I listened as it was moving around with a lot of force and stepping heavily on the wood floor. I could also hear it snorting as it moved about. It sounded like something out of a horror film. I thought that if I just stayed quiet it might just leave, which would have been the optimal outcome.

I listened to it for a while while it moved in the kitchen, but then I heard it go into the dining room. I could hear glass breaking and furniture being shoved around. It seemed to be very angry. I finally opened my office door all the way and stepped out completely into the hallway. I slowly walked towards the dining room with my gun still raised. As soon as I got close I peeked my head around the corner. It turned its head towards me and instantly started to growl. It had an angry look on its face, with a human-like expression. I sensed that it wanted to tear me apart right there. But instead of rushing and attacking me, it suddenly went silent again. It quickly rushed back to the kitchen and hurled itself out through the back door.

I didn't know what to think at that point. On one hand, I was relieved that it had left, but at the same time, I somehow felt concerned that it may return at some point. I decided then and there that I would find out more about this creature. My confusion and fear turned into anger! I wanted to know who or what this thing was and why it had come into my house.

I've done a lot of research, mainly online. But it's been difficult to find anything that really matched what happened. I wondered why it came into the house and what it was looking for. The other descriptions online were generally similar. It was bipedal, with pointed ears, large yellow-tinged eyes, and canine-like teeth. It also had a very pungent sulfur-like odor that I can still smell in my memory.

My research led to your blog, and my contacting you. I have many questions and would like to talk. I still live in the same house, but I currently work for another local law enforcement department. I have not seen the creature since that night, but I instinctively know that it still roams in my area. I wish to remain completely anonymous and discreet about my encounter."

NOTE: I was able to contact the witness and we discussed his predicament. Of course, since he is in law enforcement, specific information must remain confidential. I am excluding many of the specific details as a result. I received his permission to post this report on the blog, but only after he read and approved it.

The general area where he lives is known for past Bigfoot activity. As far as cryptid canine sightings or encounters, there have been historical reports of activity west of the location, mostly in Frederick County, Maryland.

The Central Maryland Piedmont region has had an increase in unexplained cryptid sightings and reports in recent years. In fact, this incident was close to where I had my Bigfoot encounter in 1981. I have been told of possible cryptid canine sightings in the area, but the evidence, though anecdotal, has been sparse. I plan to follow up with the witness and investigate the location shortly. Lon

The Deadly McDunn, WV Disaster: Are the MOTHMAN PROPHECIES Real?

I received the following inquiry in 2011 from an elderly woman who recalls a strange sighting of a winged being that occurred near Powellton, WV previous to a tragic train explosion.

"Hello, sir - a friend referred me to your articles about strange occurrences in West Virginia. The Mothman encounters stirred memories of an incident that took place when I was a girl.

The strange incident took place near Powellton, WV in December 1934. I was 8 years old. At the time, my father worked for Elkhorn-Piney Coal in McDunn. He and the other miners would take a train to the mine each day.

The day before Christmas Eve my father mentioned an unusual sighting he and the others on the train had while traveling back to Powellton from the mine that evening. As they looked out towards the east they noticed a very large bird flying above the trees. My father was a very simple man and didn't believe in any nonsense but this large bird really caught his attention. He described it as a freakish-sized owl very dark in color. The sky was getting dark but they could still make out the large form. He said it also looked at the train as it flew over the trees. Nobody on the train could figure out what it was. The mere fact that my father even mentioned it suggested that it must have been an unusual sight.

My father was scheduled off from work for 3 days during the Christmas holiday. On December 27th, he was getting ready for work but said he felt poorly. My mother was concerned because he had a high fever and awful chills. She insisted he stay home and telephoned the doctor. My father was reluctant to stay home and put up a good argument but my mother was not going to back down. She put him to bed and waited for the doctor.

Well, we waited for hours until the telephone rang. The operator told my mother that the doctor was at McDunn - there had been a horrible train explosion. She couldn't talk but said that the doctor's wife asked her to contact us. My mother was pale when she told my father what had happened. I remember they both started praying and crying. For years both of them thought the large bird was an angel sent by God as a warning and that my father's life was saved for a reason.

My father never went back to the mine. It turned out that he had contracted polio though he was very lucky since he survived it with only a slight limp. We soon moved away to a small town in Kentucky where my father found the calling and became a Pentecostal preacher. He told his story of survival to anyone who would listen until the day he died.

I happened to read your stories while looking on the internet with my great-grandson. I always assumed my father saw something more divine. That's what he always believed. I'm not so sure now. Thank you, sir. Emma"

POWELLTON, Dec. 27 - (AP) - Mauled and torn beneath a locomotive boiler that hurtled high into the air after an explosion, 16 men are dead and 43 others in a hospital tonight - eight likely to die.

The huge boiler flew into the mist-filled air without warning as the men rode a work train to their jobs in the mountaintop mine of the Elkhorn-Piney Coal company.

"It was a terrible noise - then the men screaming, crying, and shouting," said Mrs. Earl Morris whose house beside the tracks was wrecked by the blast.

Her father, Steve Komas, sr., was killed; she and her two little boys barely escaped death when the top of the locomotive cab crashed into their bedroom.

The train, four wooden coaches, had made its last stop as it chugged up the mountain to the mine with nearly 350 men aboard.

It puffed into the little town of McDunn, miners talking and laughing as they waited for the locomotive to gain stream for the upward climb.

"There was a big explosion - the front of the locomotive was thrown into the coach," said Charles Kitchen, 16, badly injured.

Car Torn to Pieces

"Then a minute later there was another one and it tore our car to pieces."

The huge boiler flew high in the air, turned over, and crashed on the top of the wooden car. It literally tore away the roof and one side, crumbling through the straw-matting seats.

Ambulances and private cars from the entire section, from all the mine towns scattered along Armstrong Creek, were pressed into service to carry the injured to a Montgomery hospital.

The mine foreman, W. B. Parks, was driving to the mine just behind the train. He took charge of rescue work - led miners in the other two cars, many of them cut and bruised, in efforts to rescue their fellows.

Four had been decapitated - all were burned, scalded, and crushed beneath the heavy boiler.

Lunch pails, miners' hats and lamps, shoes, and even a letter or two from relatives and sweethearts were buried in the splintered remains of the car, splattered with blood.

Families Rush To Scene

Men, women, and children gathered by the hundreds, some to aid in rescue work, others sobbing their grief at the loss of husbands, fathers and sons.

At the hospital, the injured were given beds in beds in every available spot.

"None of them knows what happened," said Mrs. Francis W. Bromberg superintendent of the hospital. "They were all too dazed to have any definite ideas."

A few blocks away in Montgomery, bodies of 16 miners lay in an improvised morgue at an undertaker's - doors were placed on boxes to provide slabs - in a long row while crowds of miners walked slowly by seeking friends and relatives.

There were the bodies of the engineer, William M. Blankenship, 52, and his fireman, Delmar L. Oxley, 35, Blankenship hurled over a house into the shallow creek bed.

Cause Not Determined

The cause of the explosion will not be determined until Federal boiler inspectors make an examination. The boiler itself was moved just far enough from the railroad tracks to permit trains to pass on the private line of the Koppers Coal Company.

The wrecked car was pushed into a ditch.

The inquiry will be directed by officials of the Koppers Company who hastened to the scene from the main offices in Pittsburgh.

Until their arrival, funeral plans for the victims also are undetermined - many persons discussed the possibility of a group funeral service. All the men were workmates in the mine - neighbors in the little towns scattered along Armstrong Creek.

Those dead, all of whom lived in this vicinity and all of them miners except the engineer and fireman, were:

William Blankenship, the engineer.

Delmar L. Oxley, fireman.

Jess Persinger.

William Manus.

Thomas Craft.

Sam Runyon.

Everett Leach.

Steve Kozma, sr.

William Turner.

Pat Murphy.

Rome Walters.

John Lowe.

Henry McMillan.

Ed Howlett.

Ray Tarter.

James Hunter.

The hospital said these men are critically injured and may die:

Homer Cart, of Glencoe, Ohio.

Charles Hagen, Powellton.

O. V. Lytton, Deepwater, W. Va.

Jack Cole, Powellton.

Explosion Sidelights

"Powellton, Dec. 27 - (AP) - The scene of the locomotive explosion which killed 13 miners is a settlement of a dozen smoke-blackened dwellings that does not even have a telephone.

The community is typical of many that dot the vast bituminous coal region of Southern West Virginia, a rugged area of towering mountains and hills.

News of today's tragedy was sent from a telephone built in a box on a telephone pole about two miles away, the nearest one to the settlement.

The miners wore clothing grimy from the coal pits, many carried lunch pails and had waved good-byes to their families just a few minutes before. Feet cocked on opposite seats, some were enjoying a morning smoke and swapping yarns.

The impact of the blast was terrific and was heard for a mile or more. The startled miners were catapulted from their seats and sent sprawling to the floor. A second later scalding steam and water covered many.

State police provided a lane for automobiles taking the dead and injured away. Those who were not dead were taken to the hospital at Montgomery, a town of 2100 about 11 miles away. Friends and relatives of the workers, anxious to find fathers, brothers, and husbands, came frantically by automobile and on foot. The roads were congested.

The little Coal Valley Hospital at Montgomery did not have enough beds to care for all the injured. Hurried calls were sent out for more, and they were brought in trucks from Charleston.

Every available automobile was pressed into service to carry the maimed. One youth, Eugene Flack, said he made four trips with injured to the hospital. He did not know whose car he was driving.

Clarence Foster, one of those who escaped injury, said: "The train blew plumb up."

Death swept all around one little family today and left them unscathed as 16 miners died in the explosion of a boiler on a train carrying them to work.

Earl Morris left his little mine town home this morning and for the first time in weeks decided to walk up the mountainside to the mine - ordinarily, he would have boarded the train that stopped before his door.

A few moments later the heavy metal cab of the locomotive crashed through the roof of his home - passing within a foot of a bed where his wife and two baby sons were sleeping. "We'd just gone back to bed," she said.

The Morris boys and their little cousin, Iris Merritt, daughter of Lefty Merritt, former ballplayer in Wheeling, joined neighbor children playing with Christmas toys.

They apparently did not know of their narrow escape or that their grandfather, Steve Komas, was killed.

Christmas wreaths hung in splintered windows at McDunn today. The glass was blown out by the force of a blast that shattered a locomotive. Blinds were lowered in some of the dozen or so little one-story company houses to shut out the chill winds.

An automobile placed high on brick blocks - stored for the winter, was shoved into a creek by the blast. A huge boulder was thrown against the side of a home.

Crowds of curious tramped miles up the narrow valley after traffic had been cut off to halt the stream of traffic that handicapped ambulances."

There is a distinct group of human-like entities that are part of ufology lore and, for the most part, associated with people who experience UFO and otherworldly close encounters. These are the ‘Men in Black’ or MIB. These entities usually show up, unannounced, at an experiencer’s home, seeking information about an incident.
The presence of these MIB became widely known during reported UFO activity (and the Mothman encounters) in the Point Pleasant, West Virginia area in the late 1960s. The journalist and ufologist John A. Keel began writing about the MIB after they made themselves known to the residents. The descriptions of these MIB were somewhat consistent; pale or olive-colored skin, monotone voice, no emotion or expression, dressed in a black suit and fedora, and driving a large black sedan. There were usually two MIB traveling together.
However, the most disconcerting aspect of their presence occurred after they conducted a brief interview. They would warn the witness, in no uncertain terms, not to discuss or report what they had observed. The message was clear. Keep your mouth shut.
Most experiencers and investigators don’t know what to make of the MIB. Are they quasi-government agents? How do they know who to contact? In most instances, they appear not long after an encounter and before a report is ever made. They truly are an enigma. But I believe that there is another explanation for their presence. Namely, that the MIB are an alien 'clean-up' crew who are used to cover up problematic sightings and encounters.

Nebraska Farm Hand: LETTERS From His DEAD WIFE

This bizarre piece was published in the 'Chicago Tribune' on January 2, 1888:

Nebraska Letter to "Kansas City Journal":

William S. Aimison, a farm hand working for a man by the name of Bills, about fourteen miles west of this city, was in the city Friday, and related a strange story, which in substance was as follows:

"He says he was married in Illinois about six years ago and three years later his wife died very suddenly. He attended the funeral and, as a matter of course, looked for the last time upon the face he had loved in life, now cold in death, saw the coffin closed, lowered into the grave, and heard that awful sound as the earth from the gravedigger's shovel fell upon the coffin-lid that hid from sight all that he held dear in this world. Shortly after the death and burial of his wife, he moved to Kansas and for the last year has been in Nebraska. In all this there is nothing singular; such things happen every day.

Now comes the strange part of his story. He says that shortly after he reached Kansas he received a letter, dated and postmarked at his old home in Illinois, signed by his wife's name, "Lulu," and unmistakably in her handwriting. Of this latter fact he is assured, as he compared the handwriting with that of several letters received from his wife before his marriage, which he still has in his possession. She said in the letter that she was very lonely, missed him greatly, and implored him to return to her. The only singular thing to one not knowing the facts of the case was a sentence something like this: “You all thought I died, but I did not, and am much better than when I saw you last.” In the latter part of this sentence, Aimison could or would not attempt an explanation. Otherwise, the letter was such as any wife might write to an absent husband.

Since then at irregular intervals he has received other letters, all couched in endearing language, but making no attempt to explain the mystery. One came from Concordia, Kas., near which place he was located before coming to Nebraska. In this, the writer bitterly bewailed the fact of his leaving before she reached him.

At first, Aimison thought some of his former acquaintances in Illinois were playing a ghastly practical joke, but after receiving several letters began to feel disturbed, and sent them back to his wife's parents in Illinois. They agreed with him that the handwriting was that of their daughter, but could offer no explanation. He answered one of the letters, addressing it, "Mrs. W.S. Aimison," and it was returned to him at this city from the Dead-Letter Office. The last letter received from his "wife" came about three weeks ago, dated at Table Rock, this state, and stated that "Lulu" was there sick, out of money, and asking him to come to her relief. Aimison left immediately upon receipt of this letter for Table Rock.

Upon investigation after his arrival he found that a woman had been at the hotel there, arriving several days before he did. She was sick when she reached there, confined to her room most of the time, and left after a week's stay for no one knew where. In the register at the hotel, he found the name "Mrs. Lulu Aimison," with no place of residence being given. The handwriting was identical to that of the letters he had received. The description of the woman given by people at the hotel was almost identical to that of his wife the last time he saw her alive. There were slight discrepancies, but nothing but what three years' time accounts for. Aimison, now thoroughly aroused and determined to get at the bottom of the affair, left at once for Illinois and had the remains of his wife exhumed, finding them as they had been buried: there could be no mistake about that. The question is, Who sent the letters and who is the woman? Mr. Aimison is a fairly educated man, not at all superstitious, but acknowledges that the affair has worried him a great deal. His reputation here is good, and his employer speaks very highly of him. He says if he receives any more letters he will not allow them to trouble him, but will make an earnest effort to discover their author, and when he does has promised to tell what happens."

'PLEASE! Don't Get Out of the Car!'

A red UAP appears to be following a car on a foggy night in rural California. When the driver stops the car and gets out to investigate, it marks the beginning of a mystery.

I received the following account:

“I grew up in the Fresno County and Kings County area of California. Strange things are going on for sure! My dad and I had an experience one night while driving on a foggy country road at night. It was extremely foggy, and you could barely see the road. But I noticed a red light was following us above the power lines. I thought that was strange so I asked my dad who would be crazy enough to fly a plane above the power lines on a foggy night? He thought that was weird too, so he pulled over to have a look.

That's when it got weird! I don't know why, and still can't explain it, but I completely panicked and begged my dad to please not get out of the car! The last thing I remember is curling up in a ball on the floor to hide. I don't know why. I remember nothing after that. And my dad would never talk about it. No matter how many times I brought it up.

My dad passed away over 10 years ago, so now I'll never know what happened when he got out of the car. But I will tell you this, after that happened, I was totally terrified of my bedroom window at night! I would wake up so scared I couldn't move! And when I finally could, I'd run into my parent's room and crawl into bed with them. This didn't happen before the incident, but after.

My dad was really never the same after the incident. He was withdrawn and not as outgoing as before. My mom noticed the changes as well. I don't know if he confided in her, but she has never mentioned anything about the night in question. I just suppose that he never told her what happened either.

We moved up north to Modesto for a couple of years. And never had any more nighttime freakouts. But I still feel chills when I remember the whole thing!" IC

DWAYYO (UPRIGHT CRYPTID CANINE) Sighting Reported in Washington County, Maryland

A Hagerstown, Maryland couple was driving south on the Sharpsburg Pike, about 3 miles north of the Antietam National Battlefield when they observed an upright cryptid canine approaching the highway.

"My wife and I witnessed a Dogman-looking creature (possibly a Dwayyo) Monday night (8/7/23) while driving northbound on Rt 65 (Sharpsburg Pike) south of Rockland Dr. just south of Hagerstown, Maryland at approximately 2200 hours EST.

We had just left the AC&T (AC&T Travel Center) that's located at the intersection of Rt 65 and Lappans Rd after eating dinner there. It was dark out with the only light illumination being that from my own headlights, some street lights, and headlights from a single approaching car.  At the initial time of witnessing the creature, the approaching car was approximately 500 ft in front of us.

I was driving and my wife was in the front passenger seat.  As we were approaching Rockland Dr., something immediately caught my attention in my left peripheral. When I looked over, I saw what appeared to be a dogman-looking creature running at a super fast pace right towards the road from an open field. I quickly realized that if I maintained my own driving speed I might actually hit it if it continued coming across the road so I immediately came down pretty hard on the brakes.

As it got closer to the road, my headlights put some limited illumination on the creature but I never got closer than approximately 25-50 feet from it. As soon as I hit my brakes, my wife exclaimed, "What the hell is that?!" As it got up by the road, the approaching car started to make it harder to see due to its own headlights and we lost sight of it, never to be seen again once the car had passed us. We don't know if the creature crossed behind the passing car or not as we never witnessed it actually come onto the road. As crazy as it sounds, I don't know if it actually may have hurdled our vehicles and we didn't see it do that or what. With its speed and build, I would have to say that it very well may have had that ability to do so but obviously, I can't say for any certainty. We were both very shaken by what we had just witnessed!

My wife and I described our accounts of what we witnessed very similarly. It was running upright (on 2 legs) eastbound (from my left to my right) from an open field directly towards the road. It had dog-like legs (v-shaped with its knees most forward) traveling an estimated 30-35 mph. I've never seen anything on 2 legs run so fast in my life! Its legs were significantly smaller in proportion to the upper body. It was kind of narrow at the waist. Its body got larger (wider, bulkier) through the torso from above the waist up to its shoulders, being largest in the chest area. Its head was pointy (snouty) with 2 upright pointed ears.  It was completely black in color and appeared to be fully covered in fur/hair except around the face/snout area. Neither of us is super confident of seeing a tail as we were both more focused on other aspects of its build.

All I can say is that my absolute first thought when seeing it I immediately recognized it as being a Werewolf/Dogman-looking creature and they typically have been described as having a large bushy tail. My wife said the very first thing that caught her focus was how fast it was running and the shape and look of its head. She said she then took notice of its uniquely shaped legs. She is not super familiar with the cryptid field but when I showed her several different artists' renditions of what a Werewolf/Dogman may look like, she absolutely agreed that they were extremely similar to what she had seen. I also agree that this is what I witnessed as well.

Once we got home and continued to discuss this encounter, I began thinking this whole thing through to try and debunk it or come up with some kind of logical explanation as to how this may have been just an illusion or whatever you wanna call it. I have traversed this road in both directions probably well over 100 times in both day and night settings over the years, clearly never having anything anywhere close to this experience there ever before. I kept picturing in my head the area in which we witnessed this.

For the life of me, I was nearly certain that there was not a single thing in that field that could've possibly reflected off any light (structure, fence, wall,...etc.) to create a shadow effect. We drove back to this area later as I wanted to take the time to see if what we saw had been some odd shadow effect that had been created by the headlights of my car and/or the approaching car. We went back in the daylight and again at night and confirmed that the field was wide open there with absolutely nothing for light to reflect off of. We recreated the event as I drove in the same direction at the same location with oncoming traffic and was not able to reproduce a single aspect of what we had witnessed. This has left both my wife and I to conclude and be convinced that what we had witnessed was real. A physical creature.

While doing some light online research on possible similar sightings, I came across some articles about a creature named the Dwayyo. It has been documented to have been seen in Gambrill State Park and all along the Catoctin Mountains between Frederick, Wolfsville, and Thurmont, including in Cunningham Falls State Park where 2 Park Rangers claim to have witnessed the creature. After reading the creatures' descriptions from these witnessed accounts, I had my wife read them for herself. At this point, it is our belief that this is the very creature that we had witnessed that night." DM

WITNESS ADDENDUM:

"Throughout this particular day of our encounter beginning in the mid-afternoon hours, there was a very significant outbreak of severe weather that occurred in this region that continued into the early evening hours. This included torrential downpours, over 70 mph winds, large hail, and frequent lightning. There were successive severe cells that came through in waves throughout a several-hour time frame. The likes of this weather event hadn't been seen in this region in over 10 years. However, at the time of our encounter, there were no storms in the area. It wasn't raining and no wind to any degree whatsoever. It was a very peaceful night at this point as the last storm had passed through the area a few hours prior.

Could It have been possible that the creature had fled the mountainous area to seek safety as there had been very significant tree-falls along those mountains and surrounding areas during those weather events and it was on its way returning to its "home" when we saw it?  As the crow flies, as they say, the nearest mountain is approximately 10 miles away. With as fast as this creature was witnessed running, it would only take a relatively short time for it to get back up into the dense woods of that mountain range from which it has been witnessed in the past.  This was definitely the direction in which it was traveling when we had our encounter. No way of knowing for sure but just a thought." DM

NOTE: I interviewed the witness and can confirm his statements that were given to me personally and what was contained in the report. I was referred to this witness by another investigator who resides in Maryland.

The 'Dwayyo' is a moniker given to the upright cryptid canines first described by 19th-century German farmers, mostly Pennsylvania Dutch (High Order Mennonites), who had moved southwest into Western Maryland from their original locations in Lancaster & York PA Counties. Their descriptions were similar to the Old Country interpretations of 'werewolves' that were part of Central European culture and lore.

There is a distinct group of human-like entities that are part of ufology lore and, for the most part, associated with people who experience UFO and otherworldly close encounters. These are the ‘Men in Black’ or MIB. These entities usually show up, unannounced, at an experiencer’s home, seeking information about an incident.
The presence of these MIB became widely known during reported UFO activity (and the Mothman encounters) in the Point Pleasant, West Virginia area in the late 1960s. The journalist and ufologist John A. Keel began writing about the MIB after they made themselves known to the residents. The descriptions of these MIB were somewhat consistent; pale or olive-colored skin, monotone voice, no emotion or expression, dressed in a black suit and fedora, and driving a large black sedan. There were usually two MIB traveling together.
However, the most disconcerting aspect of their presence occurred after they conducted a brief interview. They would warn the witness, in no uncertain terms, not to discuss or report what they had observed. The message was clear. Keep your mouth shut.
Most experiencers and investigators don’t know what to make of the MIB. Are they quasi-government agents? How do they know who to contact? In most instances, they appear not long after an encounter and before a report is ever made. They truly are an enigma. But I believe that there is another explanation for their presence. Namely, that the MIB are an alien 'clean-up' crew who are used to cover up problematic sightings and encounters.

Vampiric EL CHUPACABRAS Attacks Dog Near Naples, Florida

A man is camping with his dog near Naples, Florida. After leaving his dog out, he hears a loud yelp. He sees an unknown creature hunch over the lifeless dog and discovers it's void of blood.

I received the following account:

"Hello, Sir. I was RV camping with my Irish Wolfhound, Marty last summer 2022. We were in an old camping ground outside of Naples, Florida. Marty wanted out around 10 pm that night. Not long after I let him out I heard a loud yelping from the swamp. I immediately flooded the area with my handheld spotlight, calling out to Marty.

That's when I saw an unusual creature, with eyes that glowed brilliant orange-red. The creature was yellowish-brown, 2 1/2 feet tall, bipedal, with several foot-long spines on the back. It was hunched over Marty, sucking the blood out of his neck. It screeched at me and ran off.

Marty's neck had two fang marks as he lay lifeless. I heard another scream nearby, so I picked up Marty's body and headed home to the 24-hour vet. The vet said he had never seen this before, and confirmed that Marty had been drained of blood. He mentioned el Chupacabras, from his home in Puerto Rico, but said he had never seen one and thought it was a myth.

Is el Chupacabras real? Do you know of any instances where they have killed pets or people? I read they are called 'goat suckers' and kill livestock for the blood. Could they be an alien species?" C

NOTE: All very good questions. We simply don't know what these supposed beings are. The origin of el Chupacabras began in Puerto Rico, with many witnesses stating that they would appear after UFO sightings. Since the 1960s, the phenomenon has been said to occur throughout Latin America, and some people claim that it also exists in the United States. I'm not convinced that this creature is real, but I do receive reports to this day. Lon
