5-FOOT-TALL, BLACK, WINGED CRYPTID Crouched On Church Cross in West Virginia

A West Virginia woman describes her sighting of a huge winged being that was perched on a large cross on top of the local church. Was it the Mothman or another cryptid bird?

I received the following account:

"I have not thought of this in a while but recently saw a show talking about the Mothman that triggered my memory of an encounter I had in 2016.
It was late September in Chester, West Virginia (Hancock County) early in the morning but daylight. As I walked across town I approached one of the churches in the center of town. This çhurch has a huge cross on the top of the roof. I noticed something big and black on top of that cross.
As I got closer I could not keep my eyes off of it as I was trying to see what it was. My curiosity was piqued as I reached the church and could get the best view. This thing was at least 5 feet tall, all black, and crouched down the horizontal beam of the cross. It looked almost like a bird but huge! I was more curious than I was scared and wanted to get a better view or see what it would do. So I began to shout out to it. Just as it turned, its head looked down at me, and then 'woosh' it took flight!.
I could then see that it did indeed have wings that must have had a very wide total span as it flew off into the direction of the bridge across town where I could no longer see it. I was amazed! My heart was pounding as I thought to myself was that a Mothman?
I wish I had captured a picture or video for proof but in the moment I honestly was just so in awe I didn't even think of it until later. But I have read similar reports of sightings all throughout the Ohio Valley from Ohio to Pennsylvania and down to Kentucky. I just wanted to put this out there so that someone else like me doesn't think they are crazy and that I've seen it too!" SC

THE BUNYIP: Australia's 'Really Weird' Cryptid

The Bunyip is, by far, one of the weirdest cryptids of all time. The following information, from several years ago, is quite interesting. What are your thoughts on this cryptid?

One cryptid that has haunted the dreams of Australian children and the imaginations of adults is the Bunyip.

Bunyips are not at all funny, although recent children's books, plays and TV have made them seem that way. Rather, the bunyip is a fascinating emblem of cross-cultural contact in colonial Australia: an indigenous bogeyman that came to terrify European settlers.

The bunyip is that breath of cold air on the back of your neck in a closed room. It's that person staring at you in a crowded party, whose face you can't place. It's an anxious mystery that makes us doubt ourselves...which is why Australians have tried to laugh it off.

White settlers first learned of bunyips from indigenous Australians in the early 19th century. The word itself comes from the Wergaia people of north-western Victoria, although similar creatures exist in indigenous folklore across Australia. William Buckley, the escaped convict who lived with the Wathaurong near the Barwon River, claimed to have spotted one several times.

Another escaped convict turned bushranger, George Clarke, had lived with the Gamilaraay on the Namoi River in northern New South Wales. Trying to capture Clarke's gang in 1832, policeman Captain John Forbes met "Liverpool", a Gamilaraay leader who sketched a creature he called a "Wawee". It had fin-like feet, teeth and a tusk. "All the Blacks express fear of it, and say that it will devour them if it can catch them in the water," wrote Forbes in his diary. A town in the Wawee's splashing ground is now known as Wee Waa. Similarly, in 1878 indigenous man Kurruk sketched a fearsome, emu-like bunyip called Toor-roo-dun said to terrorise swamps around Western Port — where Tooradin stands.

While the bunyip was always large, amphibious and emitted a terrifying moan, no two accounts seem to agree about its physical appearance. In some descriptions it had a seal's flippers and sleek body; in others, scales or shaggy dark fur. It usually had tusks or horns, but its head could resemble a pig's, dog's, cow's or duck's.

This uncertainty frustrated white settlers. Robert Brough Smyth's 1878 book Aborigines of Vic-toria concluded that the locals "appear to have been in such dread of it as to have been unable to take note of its characteristics."

Other colonialists were more sceptical. In an 1891 ghost story, Rosa Campbell Praed wrote, "The blacks have an impish drollery and love of mischief, and they delight in imposing on the credulity of their white auditors." Captain Forbes worried: "I am not very sure, after all, that these people are not laughing at us."

White Australians have long debated whether the bunyip is, or was, a real creature. After all, to European eyes Australian wildlife already seemed like a bizarre zoological prank: deer that stood like humans but hopped like frogs; egg-laying otters with ducks' bills and beavers' tails.

The word "bunyip" first appeared in print in July 1845, under a Geelong Advertiser headline: "Wonderful Discovery of a New Animal". But an edition of the Warrnambool Examiner, dated May 12, 1857, dismissed "stupid and idle stories" about bunyips, concluding: "It's obvious that the bunyip is a mere tradition of the crocodile, with which the northern rivers abound."

Australian Museum naturalist George Bennett was first to suggest formally (in 1871) that the bunyip might be an indigenous cultural memory of extinct Australian megafauna, passed down through oral tradition. By 1991, the authors of Vertebrate Palaeontology of Australasia were postulating that, "When confronted with the remains of some of the now extinct Australian marsupials, Aborigines would often identify them as the bunyip."

And in 1998, geologist Greg McNamara told Australian Geo-graphic magazine his theory that the remembered bunyip was actually a prehistoric turtle, Meiolania prisca, "a most impressive beast" up to two metres long with a metre-long, bony club tail and curved 25-centimetre horns.

Aborigines' and Europeans' shared uncertainty colours the bunyip's meaning even today. By the 1850s, the word came to denote imposture and pretension: in 1853, radical lawyer and political activist Daniel Deniehy lampooned William Wentworth's bid for a hereditary peerage in Australia by branding it a "bunyip aristocracy". Prime Minister Paul Keating used the same phrase to ridicule his Liberal opponents in Parliament.

The 1970 comedy/documentary The Naked Bunyip dealt frankly with Australian sexuality. Director John Murray had read a story in which a bunyip didn't know what sort of creature it was. "We, as Australians, did not have a strong sense of identity, either," Murray recalled in 2005. "Were we a myth, too? Why not strip this creature bare and find out what it is made of?"

Australian parents used the indigenous stories to warn their children away from the bush. In colonial times, kids regularly drowned in waterholes or died of exposure, so these scary tales were practical. But as children's entertainment strove to build a self-consciously Australian vocabulary in the early 20th century, bunyips began to appear as literary monsters.

The children's pantomime The Bunyip was the Wiggles of its day, playing from 1916 to 1924. A stunningly elaborate production, it featured indigenous actors throwing boomerangs out over the crowd!

But by the 1957 children's musical The Bunyip and the Satellite, the bunyip had become wise and whimsical, advising children how to defeat the wicked Bush Fire Spirit. Barry Humphries, who played the bunyip, described it as a "prancing bird-like clown with a falsetto that inevitably got huskier after 12 performances a week".

Humphries also presided over a giant bunyip float in the 1958 Moomba parade and starred in a Channel Seven TV series. He fled from bunyip typecasting by moving to London in 1959. But by then, kindly bunyips were the go — especially Michael Salmon's pink Alexander Bunyip, who ate Canberra in 1972 and will soon get his own statue outside the Gungahlin library.

Nonetheless, the bunyip retained an undercurrent of fear. As a child I remember finding the Ron Brooks illustrations in The Bunyip of Ber-keley's Creek (1973) deeply disturbing. And Patricia Wrightson's The Ice Is Coming (1977) featured the chilling description: "Its red eyes were like death and its bellow was like fear... You could not tell what it was except that it was dreadful."

THE BUNYIP

The bunyip is a mythical creature that is native to Australia. It is also known as kianpraty. The Aborigine word “bunyip” translates into demon spirit. The Australian Aborigines believed in the Bunyip so thoroughly that it has been integrated as a part of their traditional ceremonies and stories.

There are numerous descriptions of this beast from a giant starfish to being identical to the North American Bigfoot. One of the most common descriptions is that it has a canine face and head, tusks like a walrus, flippers, and a horse-like tail. Because of this description, some believe that the bunyip is, in fact, an endangered, or even extinct, species of seal or sea lion. Other descriptions included anything from feathers and legs like a dinosaur to scales like a crocodile.

Though the creature seemed to prefer the unexplored territories of Australia, there have been sightings in Tasmania. The bunyip lives in rivers, swamps, bogs, or water-holes, across Australia. It is believed that if a camp is set too near a bunyip hole, the entire camp will be destroyed, including the campers, during the night, by an enraged bunyip. The main source of food for a bunyip is thought to be cattle and people. Many people claim that several drownings throughout Australia are due to the bunyip, rather than bad choices or inability to swim.

Probably the most prolific period for bunyip sightings was in the 1850s. Hundreds of settlers and natives claimed to have seen the creature.

There are several explanations for the possibility of the bunyip. The first, an endangered or extinct seal or similar marsupial, is a good possibility. Another explanation is that it is a species of creature thought to be extinct for over 10,000 years. The species is known as the diprotodon. The diprotodon was a plant-eating marsupial that was large and to a point meets some of the criteria in the descriptions. Some researchers claim that if this creature did survive, but is yet undiscovered, it would have evolved into a hippo-like marsupial.

First Written Use of 'Bunyip'

Fossils found near Geelong were revealed by The Geelong Advertiser in July 1845, under the headline Wonderful Discovery of a new Animal. It continued "On the bone being shown to an intelligent black (sic), he at once recognised it as belonging to the bunyip, which he declared he had seen. On being requested to make a drawing of it, he did so without hesitation." The account noted a story of an Aboriginal woman being killed by a bunyip, and the "most direct evidence of all," which was that of a man named Mumbowran, "who showed several deep wounds on his breast made by the claws of the animal." The account provided this description of the creature:

“The Bunyip, then, is represented as uniting the characteristics of a bird and of an alligator. It has a head resembling an emu, with a long bill, at the extremity of which is a transverse projection on each side, with serrated edges like the bone of the stingray. Its body and legs partake of the nature of the alligator. The hind legs are remarkably thick and strong, and the fore legs are much longer, but still of great strength. The extremities are furnished with long claws, but the blacks say its usual method of killing its prey is by hugging it to death. When in the water it swims like a frog, and when on shore it walks on its hind legs with its head erect, in which position it measures twelve or thirteen feet in height.”

Shortly after this account appeared, it was repeated in other Australian newspapers. However, it appears to be the first use of the word bunyip in a written publication.

High School Counselor Comments on 'CAT EYED' BOY Registered by Mysterious Men in Suits

The following account was from a comment made on Reddit. I followed up with the witness who later contacted me with further information. All confidential information is redacted.

"I was a counselor at a high school in Las Vegas, Nevada several years ago. One day the Principal brought two men in three-piece suits and a student to my office and asked me to register him. I will leave out some details, but as I looked at the student, I saw that the pupils of his eyes were like cat eyes. Other than that he was normal-looking.

The two men looked around my office and appeared to not notice my reaction. I asked the boy his name and he gave me a first name. I began filling out the forms and one of the men said they would have to come back because they were late. They left and I heard no more about it. 

I told the principal that the registration had not been completed, and he merely nodded and there was no more discussion. I've often thought about it." S

That was the extent of the comment. I later asked the witness if they would elaborate on the incident:

"The strange thing is that it was never spoken of, and I didn't mention it to anyone at school, but did tell my family. I had been following information at the time about supposed aliens at Area 51 and just assumed that they were testing responses to the boy's eyes. He wouldn't have lasted a minute in a regular class, and I'm not sure why I didn't say something to the men about that. As I said, they just stood and looked around the office not appearing to notice my response.  

Looking at him (the boy) gave me a little shock, but I assumed they were from the base testing reactions. I thought later that this time, he could probably wear contact lenses that would disguise his eyes.

As I said, I was reading and following information at that time about aliens and probably took it more in stride than someone might have. I've read about others who've had experiences and were surprised that they just never mentioned or discussed it again.

As a counselor, I also was trying not to hurt him by commenting on his eyes." S

MEN IN BLACK ENCOUNTERS: Calls Received By Art Bell on Coast to Coast - PART I

This post includes callers' accounts presented during a 1997 episode of Coast to Coast in which host Art Bell interviewed author Jim Keith.

STRANGE TRANSFER

Mid-1990s – Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

A man named Greg Aldrich called into the 1997 Coast to Coast radio show, one in which the guest was Jim Keith, to tell of his encounter with some strange men dressed in black suits. “Several years ago I was a nurse down in Salt Lake City,” he told Art Bell. One weekend, a patient showed up. He assumed right away that the man was an army as he had short-cropped hair and generally looked the type. He discovered that he worked at the Dugway Proving Ground. He had somehow broken his leg while working on something out there but Greg, no matter how much poking he did, could not get anything else out of him. When the man was about to be transferred, two guys showed up. “They weren't wearing sunglasses but they were wearing suits and they were rather intimidating-looking individuals,” Greg said. “You would have figured they would have been army corpsmen or something and these guys show up.” Further, Greg found them extremely odd. They wouldn't say where they were taking him. “At the hospital, when we transfer a patient - what I thought was really peculiar, you normally would get copies of records to go along with the patient. They refused to allow this individual to remain at the facility. As a matter of fact, they would not leave the nurses ward with the patient. They kept him on a gurney until they talked to my nursing manager. They pulled her off to the side and next thing you know, she handed them the records and he was gone. He just disappeared, you know. He was gone. Nobody knew where he was going. We had no record of him ever being there.”

NIGHT VISITOR

1991 – Sacramento, USA

A woman named Gina called into the 1997 Coast to Coast radio show, one in which the guest was Jim Keith, to tell of her encounter with a strange man in black. She claimed that, in 1991, she was living in the mid-town area of Sacramento. At the time she was attempting to set up a support group for people who were abducted. It was early in the morning and her husband had left for work. She was lying in bed in in a “state of twilight consciousness”. Suddenly a paralysis came over her and before her eyes – out of the corner of her eye, she saw “a tall, whitish grey man with these bright red, looked-like, painted lips.” He was wearing a black suit. “The suit was jet black and there was a very tall black top hat. It reminded me of a very tall cowboy hat. I don't recall any eyes.” She recalled that he sat down in the rocking chair near her bed and stared at her. “And with a sinister grin, his arm stretched out and pulled out like this strange clown face and said, 'This is who I am'. Gina claims she became defiant and attempted to will herself to get out of the dream she was even though, to her, she didn't believe that she was dreaming at all. 'I just had to composure myself. I said, get out of my room! Get out of my room! You don't belong here and I don't want you ever coming back!” Before she knew it, the arm stretched back and snapped to its normal shape and the face was gone. “The man just looked at me with the strange face and said, 'You will never know and you will never tell.” Gina repeated her demands that he get out of her and room. “And it stood up before me and went in a counter-clockwise spin into my hardwood floor until it was gone.”

YOU WON'T REMEMBER ANYTHING

1995 – California, USA
(The witness did not want to include the exact location out of fear but it was a small town in California)

The man, who did not give a name, claimed that in 1995, something very peculiar happened to him one night when he got off work. “After I got off work late at night, I was stopped at a red light and the next thing I knew I was twenty miles away and an hour had passed. At the time, I didn't know anything about missing time or anything like that so I just kind of let it go. About a week later I was out and I stopped at a gas station and I was getting gas... again, it was at night, and I just remember this man, very tall, in a nice black suit, walked up to me and told me that I was going to give him a ride. I said, 'No!', I don't want to give you a ride. 'Why don't you ask another man for a ride?' and he said, 'No, you're going to give me a ride!', so I quickly put my gas cap back on and went around and got in the driver's side of the car and I thought the passenger side of the car was locked but when I got in the car, he was already in the car. And he pulled me in and I started to scream and he told me that if I kept screaming he would kill me. He just wanted me to drive him around so I proceeded to drive and he kept telling me, 'Nothing has happened to you. You won’t remember anything. I ran a stop sign and he looked over at me and said, 'I know what you are trying to do and if the police pull us over, I will immediately kill you.' He just kept repeating, 'Nothing happened to you. Nothing happened to you. You'll never tell anybody, nothing happened.' Then we got out in the middle of nowhere. I'm still shaking up about this. I'm afraid if I talk about it... (caller pauses) He got out of the car and he looked at me and... I’ll never forget, it's like his eyes weren't there. And he said, 'Leave now because I don't want to hurt you.' I drove away. I started to cry. After I got away from him. I got back into town and I drove around town until I found a police officer, and the police officer rolled up, and I told them... and the police were already looking for me because the clerk in the liquor store had seen the man get into my car and heard me scream. They were looking for me and my car and a man in a black suit who had gotten in my car. They never found him. He's never been seen again. But I've had instances, where I won't even drive at night anymore, where a black automobile will come up behind me and it's flashing its lights, wanting me to pull over and I just get home as fast as I can. I won't even drive anymore.”

A NIGHT OUT WITH THE MEN IN BLACK

1993 – Salem, Massachusetts, USA

Bob claims that in 1993, he and three and four friends were going out one night to a local bar. They were driving down the road in a woodsy area when they observed what they believed to be a helicopter flashing its lights on the ground. They assumed it was looking for someone who broke into a house or maybe a drug dealer. “We were stopped at a stop-light. We were just sitting there in the automobile and the light was real long and we were like, 'The cop just caught someone' because the light just stopped at some point and we just kept watching it going through all these lights down the road from us. You know, we thought they were going to stop us from going to where we were trying to get to. Anyway, the light stopped and it was pointing down at the ground, well, we all just said, 'They got him'. And the light just turned off and next thing you know we're at another stop-light watching this police helicopter, well, we thought it was and most of us think it might have been but it couldn't have because when it decided to leave, I mean, boof, it was gone. I mean, it was gone in ten seconds flat. I mean, you couldn't even track it. When we got to the place where we were going - there was a club we were going to - and we were all inside and we were not there twenty minutes and a friend of mine tapped me on the shoulder and said, 'Look!' and we were all standing and in came four guys dressed in black suits. We were in a bar and there were these four guys in black suits and we hadn't been drinking not yet. And what is so weird is that they came in dressed in black suits and they had sunglasses on. Well, you don't walk into a club with sunglasses on at night. They don't want you to get hurt, or fall over something or other. Well, the bouncer told them to take their sunglasses off. Well, these guys did, and when we finally noticed... they were kinda dark, and anytime we would walk around the bar, they were ten feet away or five feet away, anytime we moved around the bar,” Bob told Art. About the eyes, he described them this way: “You know the weird grey looking color – it has black in the cataract part and then there's the light grey or blue grey. These were four guys, all around the same height, wore the same, they looked the same, all with the same eyes.”

THE LITTLE GIRL AND THE DARK MEN IN BLACK CAPES

1962 – San Francisco, California, USA

41-year-old, Roxanne, currently living in Nappa County, claims that in 1962, when she was six, she was living in San Francisco with her mother and her sister, Denise. Her sister was 9 years old at the time. “We were playing in our backyard. We lived in this big old Dutch colonial house, two-story in San Francisco. My mother comes from England. She had an English accent. My sister and I were in the backyard playing and I had a favorite tree that I would climb with a nice groove spot from me sitting in it so much. And I would climb up there and sink in my thoughts. Sometimes I would talk out loud to my tree. I even named the tree. So I was up there. My sister was picking flowers. She was more of a lady. I was more of a tomboy. And I sorta lost track of what she was doing because I was swinging on the tree. It was pretty high well for a kid. And then I could barely hear my mom's voice coming from the patio outside the backyard because this is a huge house we're talking about. And I could hear my mom calling out 'Roxanne, Denise, dinner time' and so I sorta started running for the backdoor and I said, 'I'll get Denise' and I ran back to tell Denise it was almost dinner time and she wasn't in the backyard anymore and so I thought, maybe she wanted to do something naughty. We're not supposed to go over the fence because there's an empty lot. My house was a kiddy corner, I guess you could say. There was a house next door and the next space over was an empty lot. Full of grass. When I jumped up on the fence. I was standing on a two-by-four stretching with all my might to see over, to see if she had gone over there.” Roxanne was horrified by what she saw. “My sister was lying down and two men were there one was bent all the way down on his knees and my sister's head was limp in his lap. My sister was lying down and she was not conscious. She was not awake. And the other man was bent down over her with a syringe. The man had a syringe and he held it to my sister's arm I was literally shocked into silence at first because I could not believe what I was seeing because of the way they were dressed. They were dressed in black pants. These men weren't wearing black jackets, they were wearing black capes. They were capes and Zorro-type hats which I later learned, when I got older, I saw Zorro. Now when he was about to give her the injection, I screamed her name as loud as I could,. And then I thought I better go get my mother because they wouldn't leave her alone. I was screaming, I go, 'Leave my sister alone!' and then I started crying and I slipped off the bench and I got a million slivers in my palm which I didn't even feel at the time and started running for my mother and I fell down in the flowerbed. This brick flowerbed that we had. And then my instincts told me to save my sister. My instincts told me I didn't have time to get my mother. And then I jumped up on that fence. I've never been able to get that high before but the men were gone. My sister was waking up. And I asked her, Denise what were they doing to you and why? Who were they? I’m freaking out. And you know, I'm a six-year-old kid and she said, 'What are you talking about. What's the matter with you, you look scared to death, you're all white?' I told her what happened to her and she said, 'Oh brother.' and she said, 'I'm coming over the fence' and she started coming with me. She was groggy. Very tired, as if she has just woken up. And then I went into the house and I didn't tell my mother because she would have been scared to death but I did tell my father.

Recent Real 'FIREBIRD' Sighting Reported Over Slave Lake, Alberta, Canada

The witness claims that they recently saw a firey orange bird with silvery white flickering along the edges of its entire body and wings in Alberta, Canada.

I received this account from a pastor who received the following inquiry:

"Hi, I’m contacting you along with a few other men of God as I saw something in the night sky with my own two eyes. I’m a reformed Christian, my faith is in Christ Jesus alone, and I believe in the inerrant word of God. 

I’ve been researching what I saw since it happened and I cannot with absolute certainty determine what it was or its meaning. It’s very important to me to know how to proceed from here and I’m contacting you to see if you have any information or wisdom about this and what I should do with it?

I live in Slave Lake, Alberta, Canada and there were many, many fires burning during this time.

I’m now going to give you the details below:

I was still awake late on the evening of August 13, 2023, and I remembered that the Perseides meteor shower was happening on August 12 as I was still up, I thought that I’d go outside onto my deck and observe the sky and maybe catch a glimpse of the meteor shower. It was a clear, calm night, with no wind. It was a warm night and the night sky was crystal clear. I saw a couple of “satellites “ go by very high in the sky - they were the size of pin dots.

I was initially looking south. I then turned my eyes to look northwest and I could see the Big Dipper.

I then looked west and saw an orangey silver-edged glowing sphere of light that was extremely brightly lit and the colours were moving and swirling within it. I thought to myself “That looks weird?” as I was puzzled. As it got closer to my house and to where I was on the deck, it continued traveling on a straight course, not turning or varying its height. It made no sound. It came from the western sky and went east.

As it came closer it definitely appeared to be the likeness of a bird! A large firey orange bird. This “bird” was mainly orange - a firey orange with silvery white flickering along the edges of its entire body and wings - and the colours we were constantly undulating within it, its body and entire being appeared to be statically, electrically charged! The orange and bright electric white would move and undulate and the colours would move and vary as well. It was very bright and very obviously a bird-type of thing/being.

It had a medium-long neck and I could see it turn its head to look down to its left towards the street and neighbours below it. It would alternate from looking straight ahead to looking down to its left. It was going east. It appeared to be looking at the street below, along my front yard, and neighbours along both sides of my street. It did not seem that it saw me, nor did it look at me or towards me. Its neck glowed a purple grey and its eyes lit up and looked electric blue or white. It never flapped its wings yet it was able to maintain the same speed and height/altitude. It I had to approximate how high up it was, I would say about 1 km. It appeared to be between 2.5 to 3 inches wide in the sky if I were to hold up my arm, extend my hand out, and use my index finger and thumb to measure it in the sky.

Throughout this time, I was struggling to comprehend what I was seeing.

I watched it and it continued going east until I lost sight of it.

This happened on August 13, 2023, from 11:55 pm to August 14, 12:04 am 2023.

I swear what I’ve shared is true.

I’m sure you’re wondering about my character as a person, I can assure you I’m not some nut looking for attention. I’m a non-smoker, non-drinker and have never done drugs, and am not taking any prescription medications. I’m of sound mind and spirit.

I’m sending this to you and am asking you if you can advise me as to what I saw and what do I do with this observation?

My Night With 'THE VAMPIRE'

A young woman, living in Idaho, believes that she had an encounter with a real vampire. She claims to have written author Anne Rice about the incident, possibly the same vampire that Rice wrote about!

The following account was forwarded to me:

"I'll admit, I wrote to Anne Rice about my account of my encounter with a vampire. I find it interesting that she first wrote 'Interview with the Vampire' in 1973. The book was published in 1976. I didn't read the book until 1980. Upon reading the book I felt she may have met the same "person" I met in 1973. I have never received a reply from her. I do realize that she probably gets thousands of emails per month on her website. I wrote to her in 2001.

I have told my story several times to several different people and always get the same response, one of disbelief. Although my mother and sister sometimes still tease me, asking, "Do you remember when you dated that vampire?"

I am now 51 years old. 34 years ago I was 17 and that summer I was working for the US Forest Service as an intern through a government program called the Neighborhood Youth Corps. We planted trees and dug potential fire break lines in the forests of northern Idaho.

A fire fighting crew came into town mid-summer since it was a particularly dry summer and was on standby just in case they were needed. Among that crew was the most beautiful young man I had ever seen. He had long blonde hair and perfectly symmetrical features. He reminded me of a more refined version of Robert Plant of Led Zepplin. He was tall and handsome and everything I ever thought I would give up my virginity to. I spent a lot of time just looking at him. He apparently noticed and began talking to me when the crew came into town from their forest stations.

He asked me out and I was ecstatic. We met for dinner several times, always late, after 10 PM. He never ate, urging me to order whatever I would like to have and he would have a glass of wine. I never knew how old he was but the drinking age in Idaho at the time was 19. He also had a European accent of some sort. He said he was from Germany. We would part at the restaurant, and he never made any attempt to kiss me, which I thought very strange since every other guy I had dated prior was always all over me.

One night I suggested we meet at a place very near to my apartment, as I planned to ask him back to my house afterward for whatever. You got it, I wanted him!

Fast forward to my apartment. After opening a bottle of wine and chatting he said he wanted to take me into his confidence because he really liked me. He continued to say that he doesn't usually tell anyone the truth about him because it scares people. Okay, I felt the first flash of fear.

He then went on to tell me that he was from Germany and was over 400 years old, that he was a vampire. I didn't know what to say. So, I asked, "What do you mean, a vampire?"

He said he was from an aristocratic family and was chosen and attacked by a vampire in his family's estate. He was made a vampire by his attacker. By what he had become he left with these other vampires and traveled all over the world. He came to hate him so much that he branched out on his own in France after many years.

I asked him if he drank blood and killed people. He paused and said that yes, sometimes he chose to take a human life.

Okay, at this point my fear was turning to terror. He was either a psychopath with a really interesting story or he was the real thing and I was about to die either way. I told him he was scaring me. He said he thought he probably would and that was not his intention. It was hard for him to make friends and when he felt he could trust someone he would tell them the truth about himself since his lifestyle was not ordinary and needed the acceptance of what friends he had to maintain a friendship with them. He also told me that he knew I was expecting to have sex with him and that he would agree to that but that sex was really no longer pleasurable to him although he knew it was pleasurable to "normals."

By this time I was really freaking out and said I think you should leave. I remember he looked really sad. He said of course he would leave but he wanted me to think about being friends with him. I said, I don't think so, you need to leave. He got up slowly and picked up his jacket and reached inside his jacket pocket for a pen and paper. I was really shaking by this time and thought his every move was a ploy to his move to kill me. But he wrote his phone number at the camp on a piece of paper and said, "If you change your mind, call me." And then he left.

When he walked out the door I was trembling so badly I could barely dial the phone. I called my mother to come get me, and to take me home that night. I told her I just ended a date with a really creepy, scary guy. I paced the floor until she got there listening for any sounds that might indicate that he was breaking into my apartment.

I told my parents and they said I did the right thing by calling them. My dad said it's time for you to move out of that apartment and I did. I never called the guy and I never saw him again.

His name was Manfred Kirschner. I have never forgotten him. I thought he was a psycho until I read 'Interview...' by Anne Rice. I have wondered for 28 years now if he is who Rice called LeStat.

'THE PALE MAN': Slenderman-Like Entity Experienced by Teen

A teen described his encounters with 'The Paleman,' a 'Slenderman-like' being that he experienced while growing up. Was the entity the result of other factors?

The following account was forwarded to me:

"I will start off by saying this is going to be a long post. My apologies. I will also state that if I'm posting this in the wrong sub, please tell me where this would be more acceptable to post. This is the story of an encounter that lasted off and on for almost a decade. Me and 'The Paleman.'

This started around when I was 13 years old. It's worth mentioning that I didn't have a very good home life but I also wasn't very aware of this fact. I suspected that maybe families were sometimes just like that. Houses were always this messy and decrepit. Parents were always either insanely controlling and accusatory or they weren't around at all.

At this point in my life, I would have to take a bus to school. I would wake up very early to catch it, and it was almost always still dark outside when I walked to the bus stop. In the corner of my eye there he would be, in my yard. The tall gangly figure. He was maybe 7 feet tall. Papery white skin. Long arms. Spindly and long fingers. Humanoid-shaped body that was very very thin and bony, and he had no face to speak of. He gave me a very deep sense of dread whenever I caught a glimpse of him. But oddly enough, He would just stand at the end of the yard. when I would try to look at him, he'd vanish. I thought maybe it was just my imagination.

As time went on he would appear in different places. When we moved, he would be at our new house. I figured I brought him there. Sometimes at night, when everyone was asleep and the house was dark, in the pitch-black living room I could swear I saw him, standing in the middle of the room, or sitting on the couch. I avoided passing the living room at night altogether, because of him. I was terrified of his presence. When I realized he probably wasn't going anywhere, I decided I should name him. I had an issue with personalizing things growing up. I would give objects names and personalities. It prevented me from wanting to throw things away and I still sometimes struggle with this. But in this instance, naming him was what I was using to be less scared of him. I named him 'The Paleman.'

As my mental health declined, and the emotional abuse I was facing became more apparent and rampant, he became bold, it seemed. Sometimes when I would be in the shower I would swear I could see him on the other side of the curtain. I would see it slowly move as if he were poking it. I would press my back against the wall of the shower and watch him, slowly scratch at the curtain. He never tried to open it. He never made noises. I could just see his familiar tall shadow from behind the curtain. He scared me, but I felt confident telling myself he wasn't dangerous.

One of the houses he followed us to had a long, poorly lit hallway, so any time of day, if my door was open I would see him walk past, quietly and quickly in the dark. It almost became comforting to have him there. My mother was rarely home, and my brothers didn't seem to notice him. It's like he was there to check up on me. I started to whisper into the dark living room at night; "Good Night, Paleman." And I would see him slowly wave from the couch.

Fast forward to now. I live with my girlfriend. I started seeing a therapist. Though, I haven't mentioned Paleman, when I started taking medication and addressing issues and old trauma, he started to show up less and less. The last I saw of him, he was in the living room. Standing. He was too tall for the room so his head was a little bent forward. I waved at him. He waved back at me. I said to him "Good night, Paleman. Thank you." He bowed his head a bit. I walked to my bed. He stayed there. In the morning, as always he was not there, but then the following nights he also hadn't shown. I was a bit sad to have him leave, but I'm sure it's for the better. I like to think he moved on to better things. I know I sure did." A

Kentucky Teen Experiences 'MIND SPEAK' With Female Bigfoot

A teenage girl in Kentucky encounters a female Bigfoot while exploring the nearby woods. After her dog reacts to the creature, the Bigfoot 'mind speaks' with the girl. Fascinating account.

"This happened in an area of Kentucky called Kettle Creek, on 500 acres called 'God's Land' when I was a teenage girl. I walked up on this thing bent over in the berry bushes after crossing a tiny creek. I had a friend's dog with me and she spotted it before I did. The dog went crazy like I had not seen her do before. She was lunging at the thing snarling, barking, growling, and snapping the air toward this thing. I was glancing back and forth between the dog and what I thought was a black bear. The dog is trying to keep the focus on the creature so I could escape. I'm freaking out inside my head as I'm deathly afraid of bears.

As my eyes went back to the creature it stood up. It was now facing me it had its head barely turned as I watched as it looked at both me and the dog simultaneously. There was no expression on its face that I could tell except something that seemed serious. I locked eyes with it for several seconds and couldn't understand what I was looking at. I had a full view of its face taking in as much detail as I could, even though I was scared witless. Its face was not of a bear, no snout or protruding nose. It had hair outlining the structure of its face, black with a reddish tint around the forehead and its cheeks. The eyes seemed to hold an expression but I couldn't read it. I was perplexed at what I was seeing. There was no beard or mustache on its face but there was hair across the upper part of the cheeks. The face seemed rounded. The eyes were big and glistened. Dark brown eyes with a hint of white along the outer side of the eyeballs. The lashes were dark not sure if it was black or dark brown. The nose was sort of like a human nose but much bigger and slightly spread out. Its mouth was big, almost too big. The lips were thin. I never saw any teeth, thank the stars for that.

For some reason, my eyes were glued to its mouth. I don't understand why. Then I heard the words it said, 'Control the dog or it will be no more.' At that point, I looked at the dog and tried to coax her to me. I looked back at this thing and couldn't figure out how it spoke to me without its mouth moving. My eyes were fixed on the mouth again and I again heard the same words, but this time more demanding. I grabbed the dog by the scruff and tried to pull her alongside me but she broke my grasp. As I looked up at this thing I was staring at the eyes which were focused down on the dog. I know if I didn't grab the dog again it would die. So I grabbed a firmer grip and I pulled her to me. A strange ease surrounded me and the dog as I began pushing it to my left and off the boulder at my back. As I pushed the dog further my eyes were on the dog and not this thing.

I released my grip on the dog and she took off without me towards the front meadow. I turned briefly back toward this thing to see it slightly turning and bending back down in the blackberry bushes. Then, I saw it had swaying breasts. It was a female. Why didn't I look at the full body? I decided to leave this thing be since it didn't hurt me or eat me like the stories I'd heard from the people around this land.

That night, just before the sun went down, I heard a voice in my head. This time it felt deeper than the first. It said, 'Now that you have seen us we will have to come get you.' That voice scared me so badly that I packed up all my things and left early the next morning. I didn't say anything to anyone on the land. I couldn't tell them something I had no clue about. I understood from the second voice it was her brother and not sure what he meant by coming to get you. I think, in a way, this was the opening for my learning from them and about them.

I had no knowledge about Bigfoot until the early 1990s. That's when I first saw snippets of the Patterson/Gimlin film. I didn't even know other people had experiences. I didn't know that there were more than those I had experienced until I saw that film.

I hitchhiked all over the US and stayed alone in my travels. I didn't like traveling with other people. I liked being able to take my time or travel swiftly to my next destination. It's unheard of these days for a young teenage girl to hitchhike the US, but that was my life and I loved it, being able to live in the peaceful wilds."

LARGE BLACK, WINGED HUMANOID Reported in British Columbia

A group of witnesses observed a large, black, winged humanoid in a residential backyard in coastal British Columbia on two separate occasions.

The following account was forwarded to me:

"It was 2017 when it was winter. I live in British Columbia along the coast. I think there was a bit of snow on the ground and the sun had just set so it was not completely dark out yet, but not light either. My sister and her boyfriend, and me and my boyfriend were in our backyard. I think we just went outside briefly to run around in the snow, since where we live it's actually a rare occurrence.

My sister all of a sudden freezes and says she sees something/someone behind a tree. She then walks over to it and she sees it disappear. Freaked out she wanted to go back inside so we all went with her. When inside she told us what she saw was a large, black-winged creature sitting behind a tree looking in our direction. Apparently, it was sitting with its wings down, covering its body kind of hunched. Then when she got closer she saw it turn the other way covering its face with its wing so it wasn't facing her anymore. It moved further away behind the tree and once she was close enough to see it. It was gone.

None of us believed her. We all told her it was probably just a raven, or a herring, a shadow. But she was sure she saw something huge, with wings. We let it go, but she was clearly freaked out.

Fast forward to the next Saturday. My boyfriend and I, my sister and her boyfriend, (same people as before) were all in my bedroom, which is the master bedroom of the house and we have these French doors that open up onto the sundeck and look out into our backyard. We were just about to smoke some weed together. When my boyfriend opened the door to the sundeck and looked up past our backyard to see this massive bird leave a branch in a tree.

He said "Holy sh*t that eagle is HUGE"

I looked up just in time to see it leave the branch and fly for like, two seconds before it disappeared behind more trees. But it was bigger than an eagle for sure. It wasn't in a tree in our backyard, but we have this embankment that goes up to these apartments that are next to us, and the tree we saw the thing fly off was up there. So it wasn't really clear, but we have eagles around us often and I have never seen one that size, It looked like its wingspan was 14 feet long almost. It was completely black. My sister and her boyfriend just missed it but they saw the tree branch it came off still bouncing up and down from it jumping off.

I said it looked like a human with wings and my sister freaked out and reminded us of the time she saw that thing in the backyard. All of us had forgotten about it until she told us about it again. Now I actually believe her. My boyfriend said it looked like a human with wings but he doesn't believe in stuff like that.

Plus on top of this, we had a dog who passed away in January but she would sleep on the sundeck if it was warm enough for her. And often we could hear her growling at something in the backyard and pacing back and forth. Could have been a deer in the backyard, or a raccoon. But my dog was uninterested in deer in her old age and raccoons used to come on our deck all the time and we would hear them. But this time it was different." MP

OUIJA BOARD Manifests WEREWOLF-LIKE Creature!

A teen girl and her friends had been using a Ouija board for weeks prior. Then one day, a 'werewolf-like' creature manifests and seemingly takes over the demeanor of one of the friends.

“I have seen a werewolf creature. It spoke to me and ran toward me. I was 14, so over 28 years ago. I had been using Ouija boards for weeks prior with my friend Angela andhad contacted what we thought was a little girl named, 'Emily Carter.' 

Myfriends and I were out front of my house when our friend Michelle startedskipping and acting like a young child - a very odd vibe was present. Angelaand I called out to Emily, and with that, my hand on my heart and on my three children'slives, a large wolf figure appeared instead of my friend Michelle, levitatedand in this voice, deep, growly said, 'Don't ever call me Emily Carter again!'It then, at an intense speed, ran towards us (Angela and myself). With that itwas gone, and Michelle was back to normal. The thing is, both Angela and I sawthis, she spoke first, so I know it was not just me - it happened!

For years I have tried to make sense of it, research what it was, look at whyit happened. I experienced many odd things at that time, I believe due to usingthe Ouija board, I never after this nor ever will use it again after thatexperience. If I had not experienced it, I wouldn’t believe it, so am notasking for belief. Simply letting you know, Iv seen it to and believe you. Yeton the positive its shown me dark and in doing so confirmed there has to belight.” MW
