#BadMoonRising Phil Taylor #IndieAuthor #YA #thriller @ThePhilFactor
Thank you to Teri Polen for feauturing me today as part of her #BadMoonRising Halloween promotion with a different horror/paranormal book author each day this month.
Today’s author tells about a creepy paranormal experience, his shrewd idea for time travel – and is yet another person to have seen It, while I still have not. Alas – it is my shame to bear as a devoted King fan. Welcome, Phil Taylor!
Remember when you were a kid and you had that one magical summer that seemed...

How To Make The Best of an Awkward Situation: Elevator Etiquette
[image error]
It happens to all of us. We find ourselves in a square box in close physical proximity to strangers. Even the most glib amongst us has few tools in a situation like this. If the elevator is in high demand you may even find yourself without any personal space, rubbing up against strangers whom you have no physical attraction to. It can be, for a very short time, very awkward. So how can you make yourself and your fellow travelers more comfortable for that uncomfortable ride?

Dorinda Duclos: She’s a Poet and You Should Know It!
Dorinda Duclos is one of my favorite poets and blogger. Do you know the word prolific? Dorinda is prolific. New poems appear on her blog daily. Some are beautiful, some are poignant, some are clever and funny. I’m envious of her ability to create so much good so often. She also has a gift for matching the perfect picture with each poem.

She is also the author of the WordPress blog, Night Owl Poetry, and has amassed a following of fellow poets, writers and artists, and is highly recognized i...

Throwback Thursday! The Top Ten Things YOU Need to Survive The Zombie Apocalypse
( Oct. 28, 2014) This weeks Top Ten list is a first for The Phil Factor. I’m thrilled to have a Top Ten list by indie zombie author Marie Lanza. Some of you will remember Marie from her hilarious interview here back in January. Since January Marie has released her first full length novel, Fractured: Outbreak Zom 813 and The Colony: Isolation which is the second installment in her Colony e-book series.

Top Ten Tuesday! The Ten Scariest Movies of All Time
Feeling in the mood for some Halloween scares? Check out the movies on this list, created from a painstaking culling of countless online lists of scary movies. These are the ten that appeared most often on most of the lists. I posted this list last year and it resulted in a lot of suggestions for other great scary movies. Feel free to add your two cents in the comments.
10. Psycho (1960) Believe it or not, this one almost didn’t make the list. This is a classic that has spawned countless imi...

Want a Million Dollars? Make Your Bed! (and other things that will make you rich)
A million dollars for making your bed? That sounds like the best game show ever, doesn’t it? Or maybe the best job ever, right? Nope. Apparently the difference between us and folks like Bill Gates, Richard Branson, and Mark Zuckerberg is smaller than we think. (click on Bill’s and Richard’s names. They’re linked to their blogs) A socio-economist, who made up the title socio-economist, named Randall Bell, Ph.D. spent the last twenty-five years studying the behaviors that successful people h...

A Review for Time To Lie: Did I Create “Dude Lit”?
Here is a funny review that came in on Amazon yesterday:
The Master of “Dude-Lit” Tackles Time Travel and Wins!
I’ve been a fan of Phil Taylor since reading his first two novels. If there were such a thing as “dude-lit” – this guy is the master. I bought Time to Lie without knowing anything about it. What a great read! I am a huge fan of time travel books so this was right up my alley. Plus he puts in enough references to other time travel so that geeks like me can enjoy that along with his...
