Set 5 for Dark Waters!

The last 4 images I rendered for the video game Dark Waters, out on Steam this summer. A hunter driven mad by a witch, a woman viewing the dark waters, distracted, then walking away with her ears covered. Illustrations 17-20, in India ink on Bristol board, all executed with 20/0 watercolor brushes.

I think it’s kind of amusing that my short story compilation “Down Highways in the Dark…By Demons Driven” had a 4-star rating where the reader deducted one star for the stories being too terrifying. Here is a snippet of the review

However, my criticism regarding this book is its overpowering dark tone accompanied by unsettling plot elements throughout the story. Although Wendy was certainly a standout character who demonstrated her unwavering courage throughout it all; frequent encounters involving supernatural creatures resulted in distress at times while reading about them due to how graphically depicted they were made out by Dan Henks – although captivating this is not recommended if you are sensitive.

Therefore rating this book a 4-star seems appropriate given its awe-inspiring narrative but i recommend for only readers interested in horror fiction/novels or Nightmare-driven stories.
