Redrew part of and darkened in this second illustration for my new book
Never quite happy, this is one of those illustrations that keeps bugging me, as it doesn’t quite capture the picture I have in my head.
I amplified the size of and redrew the foreground head, which I’ve now sharpened and darkened even more.
This illustrates one of the early, horrifying scenes out of my new book The End Of The World

So much going on
I've been neglecting blog posts and I apologize.
Since I last posted, I've completed a new book cover for Splatterpunk Press's book "Fighting Back", a new t-shirt design based off the work of my favorite author, H.P. Lovecraft, for Black Hope Curse, illustrations for Splatterpunk Magazine, and most importantly, my new novel!
I'm running it by agents now, but it's entitled "The End of the World" and it should be out this year! I'll keep everyone posted.

New book cover published!
The painting I did for the cover of Jack Bantry's novel was just released. This would be my 7th book cover that was published, I did a few more than never saw the light of day. You can see it on my Facebook feed, at https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...
In other news, I am 225 pages into my third book. It's a sequel to the first, but includes some of the characters from the second. I'm almost finished with the cover, and have started the first of at least 9 interior illustrations.

It's been a while, but I'm hard at work!
Working on my third book, and it's a little more than half written. It's a sequel to my first book, but includes some of the characters from my second. I haven't even started the interior illustrations, but the cover painting is about 70% done, and it's tentatively titled "The End Of The World". I took a little different approach in this one. The chapters that focus on the main character and are seen through his eyes are in first person like my initial novel. That is only about half of the book however, with events and characters giving a whole new perspective on the apocalyptic setting. All of those chapters are in third person, with a narrator expanding on the scene. I've found this dichotomy to be a real best of both worlds scenario, and it has allowed me to expand the whole universe I am creating. I hope everyone enjoys, and I'll keep the release updated. It will be tentatively released next year by Permuted Press.

Permuted Press
I know, there is a lot of backtalk on all publishers, but I have nothing bad to say about Permuted Press. They are an indie publisher, so their distribution and advertising budget might not be anywhere near that of Penguin Books or Simon and Shuster, but they respond quickly, keep me in the loop, and allow me to exert a remarkable level of control over my work.
I hear it was a different story back in the day, but they have had new management for years. I even had they recommended to me after I left my first publisher. By former authors no less who who have now moved on to big publishing houses.
I know there was a recent controversy over how they would no longer release all new books as paperbacks, some new work would only be available as electronic downloads. But they went out of their way to tell everyone before any new work came out, and offered to let any authors out of their contract if they did not like the new terms. Not only that, but the reasoning was sound. Authors like to have a physical copy they can hold in their hands, but that is simply not financially viable for some new work until it has proven to sell. I understand, and would prefer a healthy company than one that caters to every specialPermuted Press logo interest.

It's Been Awhile
My debut novel, The Black Seas Of Infinity, was initially released by Anarchy Books in 2011.
They were a small UK outfit with limited exposure, so when Permuted Press picked it up for a re-release, with the cover I had originally planned for it no less, I jumped at the opportunity.
Down Highways In The Dark...By Demons Driven was my second novel. Initially it was to be released by Damnation Books. A maelstrom of horror and pettiness ensued from them, and I had to get a lawyer involved to get my rights back. Permuted Press was generous enough to jump into the fray, help me out, and eventually issue my new novel.
Both books came out this year, the reissue in April, and the new novel in August. I'm currently working on a sequel to my debut novel, although one of the characters in my second novel features prominently in it, and all my work has roughly the same continuity.
Thanks to all my fans, for helping me realize my dreams and nightmares. See you in hell.
