Free Download!
Free Download!
My heavily illustrated cosmic horror novel, The Black Seas of Infinity, is a free download for one day!
Written right after the death of my immigrant wife was massively mishandled by the police, I incorporated everything from the dark path I could have gone down, to the ancient civilization theories of Graham Hancock, the cosmic terror of H.P. Lovecraft, the whispered conspiracies of a power-hungry government, and much more.
After I massively re-worked, re-edited, and posted it back on Amazon, it lost many of its old reviews, which dropped it in the listings and made it more difficult to market. Anyone interested, please download the free copy here and submit a review to Amazon.
Here is a promo image of the cover, a few of the interior illustrations, and a CR code that leads directly to the free download on Amazon.

Northern Frontier
Northern Frontier
The illustration for the story I contributed to the September release of a new Horrorific Tales anthology.
Northern Frontier is a Christian version of the Boy Scouts that my parents sent me to as a young child. It’s in uptown New York, and in my tale, I turn it into a breeding ground for cultists, which one could argue it already is, but I take it even darker.

Splatterpunk Zine’s controversial pre-COVID release.
Splatterpunk Zine’s controversial pre-COVID release.
I figured my girlfriend, Marell Kim, would be the perfect model for the story “Things Remembered” by Brian Keene in issue 13 of Splatterpunk Zine. It details how friends find the horrible abuse (in a set of videotapes) that a recently deceased, famous author would subject his female fans to. She already had that gothic look, I just had to purchase a set of handcuffs for the reference scene.
The issue is long sold out, but you can get the latest issue here
Chris Hall for DLS reviews calls it “A bloody brilliant read.”

Christmas is Cancelled
Christmas is Cancelled.
Early 1980 was a whole different world. It seems like a lifetime ago and even another reality. One piece snow suits, massive blizzards, drifts of snow burying everything, and overgrown woods whose untamed fauna swarmed in around pockets of encroaching human civilization.
I lived upstate in a rural housing development while my dad attended West Point. Tracks of abandoned woodland, a few plots owned by grumpy farmers who shot at us with rocksalt, surrounded our rural two-story house.
We had a blizzard in May, thirteen inches. Giant drifts of slowly blackening snow piled up on the sides of the road.
The banks were so high in the winter, my friends and I would burrow tunnels through them, creating a maze of connected forts.
I use just such a setting for my story Christmas is Cancelled, in my collection of short stories, Down Highways in the Dark…by Demons Driven.

In it, Santa exists. he’s not just a holiday myth, but a strange accident twists him into a child-eating monster.

You’re Dead
You’re DeadBack in 1997, I did the cover for an issue of Maximum Rock and Roll entitled”You’re Dead”. This was for the main article, which accused the government of creating the AIDs virus. I recall speaking with publisher Tim Yohannan, and he seemed a bit grumpy. He was mad it was taking me so long (I worked 60 hours a week as a bike messenger at the time, so it took me a week to do this), and said he’d use all the images but refused to use the firstone as he thought I was pushing some extreme Vegan agenda (I’ve never been vegan).
A very controversial figure in the punk scene, Green Day even wrote a song about how much they hated him!
Tim died back in 1998, but Maximum Rocknroll continues to survive as an online magazine.

War Is Hell
War is hell. We all know that. But unless you were a veteran who saw it on the front lines (like the World War 2 vets who cried during the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan), it was often pitched to the masses as that sort of John Wayne, code of honor and patriotism thing. My dad is even retired military, involved in every war from Vietnam to the first Gulf War and I didn’t even imagine how brutal it was. We’d watch movies like Bridge Over The River Kwai at the local military base theater, where tough, charismatic men fought nobly against a cartoonishly evil foe>
That illusion of grandeur started to crack with films like Apocalypse Now and Full Metal Jacket, but what really broke it down was a combination of social media and movies like Black Hawk Down. I attempt to capture that aura of senseless violence in a scene from my book The End of the World.
The novel is available here on Amazon
