I’ve been doing quite a few Barnes & Noble-funded book fairs recently, and won the last one!

WC Banning and I talk fantasy, acting, and voiceovers
W C Banning and I talk about everything from the movies he’s acted in, to his radio work, his writing seminars for young kids entering the field, and his new fantasy series (with a tinge of horror, of course), whose plot reminds me a bit of Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere, only with a vastly larger and more cosmic scope!
His heavy pulp magazine influence comes to light as we go over relics from the 80’s that shaped our lives!

The Dead Man’s Hand Tatto Expo
This is the second year of The Dead Man’s Hand Tatto Expo, but the first-year owner Jeff asked me to help. We dived further into horror territory, getting the amazing Ricky Vitus, a graduate of the Tom Savini school and horror makeup artist on the FX show Faceoff, to put together and judge a whole monster makeup segment of the convention. I’ll be doing a seminar, a podcast, and acting as a judge. To get more illustrators and writers in, I’ve talked Jeff into offering $150 booths for artists and writers. There was a bit of early miscommunication. The tattoo booths filled up, but I wasn’t happy with the low number of authors and artists, so for this show only, I talked him into doing a half-price discount! So $75 for a weekend booth so everyone can get their work out there! Email me at danhenk@gmail.com, and I’ll make sure you get the hookup!
