The Forever Saga: Flash – Chapter 1

Chapter 1: To Fight Another Day

Prince Ahya laid eyes upon his kingdom for the first time – and was desperate to escape it.

He observed his people – blissful yet enslaved, with no will of their own – and refused to let the same fate befall the Earth. That was why, despite the grandeur of the kingdom before him, the prince could not obey his king, Grigori Geist. With The Forever Saga: Flash officially on sale, the cover’s illustrator – Stanley “Artgerm” Lau – has posted the cover art on his DeviantArt (dA) portfolio. dA is an artist community where Stan and many other artists have gained exposure and fame, both in artist circles and the entertainment industry.

Author Sean C. Sousa found Stan’s work on dA several years ago and instantly became a fan.

As The Forever Saga: Flash is readied for release, another task dear to me is ramping up in the coming weeks: Extra Life’s annual fundraiser to benefit local hospitals and the sick children they care for.

Last year marked the first time I had participated in Extra Life, which consisted of building a team, raising funds, and the main event: playing video games for 24 hours straight. Fun? Yes. Easy? No. But I discovered that I had a heart to use the resources I had – lots of games systems and fr...

Although I began writing The Forever Saga: Flash during the first week of 2007, and spent all of 2006 researching it, the smallest seed of the idea actually came near the end of 2005 – which means that when Flash is published on October 1st, 2012, it will have been a 7-year journey writing my debut novel.

How does that feel? Different than I expected, and for good reason.

When you conceive of a creative idea, you’re likely gung-ho for the first stage of it. Motivation isn’t an issue as much as...
