EXCERPT:
Luke worked his fingers into my hair and tilted my head back. He placed small kisses down along my neck to the hollow of my throat. I closed my eyes, savoring the feel of his mouth on my skin.
“You smell like cinnamon.” He gently nipped my shoulder. “And you taste like vanilla. You are a God damn walking dessert.”
A small laugh turned into a moan as his thumb brushed my nipple. Heat pooled in my lower stomach. I tugged at his shirt, desperate to get it off him. There were too many clothes separating us.
Luke stilled my hand. “No, wait.”
I glanced up at him. Last I remembered, you didn’t wear clothes during sex. “No?”My head grew dizzy with the smell of pure male as his lips grazed my ear. “I want to take things slow.” He unbuttoned my jeans and dragged down the zipper. When he caught sight of the bright pink hearts on my thong, a slow grin spread across his face. “There’s nothing sexier than a woman in pink.”
Capturing my mouth with his, he backed me up against the wall. Every nerve ending in my body screamed for release. I titled my hips into his hardness, eliciting a groan from both our lips.
“Luke, please,” I begged. “I need you inside me.”

10 Things You Didn’t Know About Author Cassietta Jefferson I’m not what most people would consider an open book. In fact I’m a pretty private person, so I keep quite a few things to myself. It’s not necessarily intentional, but there are quite a few things no one except really close friends know about me. Today, I would like to share a few details about me that you may not know.  I love to sing. When I was a kid, maybe about five years old, I was introduced to music. My mother was a pianist for our church and volunteered to work with the children's choir. She brought me in to work with the group and I was hooked. I continued singing with this particular church choir until I was about 25 years old. At that time, I got married and moved away, but I never lost the desire to sing. I’ve done a few professional gigs and I’ve also had the opportunity to travel around the country to sing with various groups, but what I love most is standing before a packed church on a Sunday morning and singing songs of praise to God. I have a very serious sweet tooth. I love sweets; all kinds. Candy, cookies, cakes, pies…you name it, if it’s sweet, I love it and what’s worse? I want it. To want sweets is not my issues. To give into temptation and to buy or bake sweets is where I have a problem. I’m a night owl. My writing prime time is between the hours of 10:00 PM and 2:00 AM. I recently stopped trying to fight this fact and just go with it. I love dogs. If I had my way I would have several dogs. I love bigger dogs like Huskies or German Shepherds, but our housing situation over the years hasn’t lent itself to these choices. Today, I have a Chihuahua / Terrier mix; a small 10 pound dog who has a habit of making life interesting. I enjoy my own company. I’m a classic introvert, so I truly enjoy my own company. I am my own best friend so doing things like having dinner, going to a movie, or even traveling alone doesn’t bother me. I love water but I can’t swim. If I had my way, I would live on a tropical island; my preference is Hawaii, but I’m open to knew experiences. Even if not on a tropical island, I would love to live near some body of water. Water is calming and peaceful. It quiets my mind with the world around me is in utter chaos.  I’m uncomfortable with change. I husband was in the US Air Force for 22 years. I spent the last 16 with him, traveling from base to base for and because of his career. I don’t regret a single minute of that time, but it’s been a struggle for me to pick up and change my life every few years. I’ve noticed that now, even the smallest change makes me a little crazy. I love to bake but I detest cooking. I have a love of sweets (see #3) which caused me to figure how to bake the things that I liked over the years. In the last five years, I’ve discovered some mouthwatering tips and tricks that yield delicious results. Pink is my favorite color. For years I’ve denied my love for the color pink. In my own mind, there was some sort of stigma attached to the color pink and I wanted a more serious favorite color. Recently I’ve embraced the color pink and wear it as often as I can. I love french fries. French fries have somehow become a comfort food of mine, I tend to stock up on potatoes or the frozen steak fries by Orida. Although I can eat them with ketchup only, I like to create a real experience by adding sour cream, shredded cheese, chopped green onions, and bacon bits.

Introducing Alaska, and its treasures buried within Aunt Phil's Trunk by Laurel Downing Bill. Enter the giveaway and win your very own copy of Vol 1 & 2.

Banner made by Book Tours Graphics

Alaska History Decoded!

Aunt Phil’s Trunk, volumes 1 and 2, feature Alaska history stories written by Laurel Downing Bill and her late Alaska historian aunt, Phyllis Downing Carlson. The photo-laden books are a delightful journey through Alaska’s rich past.
Released in April 2006, Volume 1 includes stories from early Alaska up to about 1900. Tales include nuns mingling with rough-and-tumble adventurers on the banks of Nome, the last shot of the Civil War booming in the Bering Sea and the scoundrel Soapy Smith serving as an angel of mercy before he became the undisputed king of crime in Skagway.
From grizzled old prospectors to poke-stealing highwaymen to the magic of Alaska Native shamans, this book is a treasure trove of nonfiction short stories about Alaska’s colorful past and is filled with more than 300 rare historical photographs. This volume ends with the famous Klondike Gold Rush.
Volume 2, released May 2007, picks up where Volume 1 ends – right around the Klondike Gold Rush – and ends in 1912. It includes stories about Alaska’s early lawmen, and the criminals they pursued, along with pioneering postmen and rugged adventurers who challenged the Great Land’s highest peaks.
The second collection of stories also shares how towns like Fairbanks, Valdez, Cordova and Seward were born, the Iditarod Trail was blazed and the largest volcanic eruption of the 20th century.  This volume contains close to 350 historical photographs to complement the lively storytelling.
This series of books, suitable for ages 9 to 99, is a labor of love from a niece who wanted to keep the legacy of her aunt alive. When Carlson, a well-known Alaska reference librarian at the ZJ Loussac Library in Anchorage, passed away in 1993, Bill inherited her aunt’s research, award-winning historical articles and rare Alaska books. Bill has spent the past several years organizing and editing the historian’s work and writing her own pieces to dovetail with Carlson’s.

Aunt Phil’s Trunk volumes 1 through 4 are available through http://www.AuntPhilsTrunk.com and Amazon.com.

Biography Laurel Downing Bill
Born in Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1951, Laurel Downing Bill moved to Juneau in 1959 after her father, Richard Downing, became the state's first commissioner of public works. Eight years later, she began traveling when her father took a job with a company building roads and bridges around the world.

Laurel returned to Alaska in 1970, where she eventually met her husband, Don, in Fairbanks. In 1974, the couple moved to King Salmon, a small village about 360 air miles southwest of Anchorage, where they raised their two children, Kim and Ryan. Don worked as area biologist for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game Commercial Fisheries Division and Laurel worked her way up to assistant general manager for the Bristol Bay Telephone Cooperative Inc.

After 24 years, they retired into Anchorage, which is when Laurel received her late historian aunt’s body of work. Phyllis Downing Carlson, who passed in 1993, worked as the Alaska reference librarian for Anchorage’s public library and wrote award-winning stories about the state she loved.
Laurel decided to turn her aunt’s work, as well as her own research into Alaska’s colorful past, into articles for new generations. However, she knew she needed to know about researching, writing and publishing to do the job right, so she returned to college to learn everything she could to make her project successful.
At 52, Laurel graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2003 with a degree in journalism and a minor in history.
She became one of the main reporters for a weekly newspaper, The Anchorage Chronicle, during her junior year and birthed an Alaska history column titled Aunt Phil's Trunk. The column continues to be printed today in the monthly newspaper, The Senior Voice.
After receiving an enthusiastic response to her column of tales from Alaska's days gone by, she turned her

Her award-winning stories have appeared in newspapers across Alaska, as well as the Alaska Magazine, Mushing magazine and First Alaskans magazine.

Sample of reader comments: 1. Laurel, I don’t think you realize how many people enjoy this series. Anyone interested in Alaskan history must have these books (I have all four). Every time I’d go into a store (Fred Meyers, Carrs etc,), I go to the book section to see if Volume 5 was out yet. The subjects are short enough to prevent being boring but informative. I can’t wait till No. 5 comes out! – Larry Anderson, BP Exploration Alaska 2. Hi Laurel! I am still re-reading your books - I met you at a market, maybe Anchorage, a couple of years ago whilst on my dream trip to Alaska. The gold mining days must have been a great adventure, although dangerous. You weave a great story – thank you!  – Rosey Sandford, Townsville, Australia 3. Got your books and can't get anything done. I sampled one before going back to critical activities, but it's like sampling a new flavor of a gallon of ice cream. "Even a gallon is a sufficient sample," you grumble as you try to get your face into the carton to lick the bottom. – Larry Winebrenner, Miami Gardens, Florida
 4. These are the first books I've read in years and couldn't put one down once I started! Cindy Yates, Anchorage, Alaska
 5. Hello Laurel, I received the books today!  Thank you and I am enjoying reading the first book, which I took home with me, and it is so interesting, keeps me spellbound!!  Thanks again! – Donna Morgan, Nome, Alaska 6. I have enjoyed all three immensely — but then I love adventure.  Congrats on such wonderful, mind stimulating reading — just the right mix of pics and words — in short stories. The stories are as big and satisfying as Alaska itself. – Steve Wharton, Indiana

Review 1Aunt Phil s Trunk: Volume OneReview from Fairbanks Daily News-MinerDavid James, ReviewerJune 17, 2007 Aunt Phil’s Trunk: Volume One, published last year, was an unexpected gem. The book was a compilation of historical essays about early Alaska, ranging from Native life in the pre-contact period through the era of Russian possession, and onward to the purchase of the territory by the United States and the gold rushes that ensued a few decades later.
Most of the book’s stories were compiled by the late Phyllis Downing Carlson, a near-lifelong resident of the state who published many of these tales in numerous publications. When she passed away in 1993 at the age of 84, her countless files fell into the hands of her niece, Laurel Downing Bill.
As luck would have it, Downing Bill also has a flair for writing and a passion for Alaskan history. As a memorial to her aunt and a gift to the rest of us, Downing Bill has been organizing these stories, adding her own details, exhaustively illustrating them with period photos, and publishing them in books which deserve to be snatched up by anyone with an interest in our state’s rich past.

Review 2The Anchorage TimesAnchorage Daily News/Voice of the TimesWilliam J. Tobin, senior editorJune 18, 2006 While handing out compliments, let's give a big pat on the back to Laurel Downing Bill, who has just published what she calls an Alaska historian's collection of treasured tales. It's a beautifully printed 344-page soft-cover book, Aunt Phil's Trunk, illustrated with a hundred or more great old photos that dramatically show what life was all about in Alaska's early pioneer days. The illustrations alone are worth the $19.95 price, but the narratives from front to back are equally praiseworthy. This book contains a collection of Alaska history stories written by Phyllis Downing Carlson, as well as stories written by Laurel Downing Bill that came from tidbits found among the notes and rare books Bill inherited when Carlson died in 1993. For those who love Alaska history, this easy-to-read collection is highly recommended.

Review 3Amazon.comLorrie Farrelly, ReviewerMarch 2014 AUNT PHIL'S TRUNK, VOL. 1, by Phyllis Downing Carlson and Laurel Downing Bill, is a wonderfully written, eminently readable, and richly illustrated narrative of Alaska's history up to 1900. Ensuing volumes – including one expected to be released within the coming year – continue the story through the 20th century.
I especially loved the wealth of vintage photographs in these pages that made frontier Alaska spring to life. So many cultures and so many characters populate this book: native tribes, Russian and American explorers and fortune hunters, trappers, prospectors, merchants, heroes, shamans, and scalawags. They are all here in their wild and woolly glory, pitting themselves against one of the most beautiful and forbidding landscapes in the world. In pre-1900 Alaska, fortune and disaster are never more than a hair's breadth apart.
AUNT PHIL'S TRUNK is full of well-researched tales both wonderful and tragic. Written in a clear, coherent, and evocative voice, it is a fascinating window to Alaska's wild past. Highly recommended!

Review 3Writer’s DigestAnyone interested in Alaska history will love this book. It is full of interesting and little known facts about the state. The stories behind these facts are colorful and entertaining. Phyllis Downing Carlson was clearly in love with the history of Alaska, which is shown by the kinds of anecdotes she collected, and the attention paid to each of them. The same passion for the subject is evidenced in the author, Laurel Downing Bill, through her treatment of both Alaska and the memory of her aunt. The photograph selection in this book is remarkable, both due to its relevance to the related anecdotes and for the ambience they exude. * Comments from Writer’s Digest Judge in the 14th annual International Self-Published Book Awards 2007

My 5 Star Review for Volume 1

I received this book from the author for an honest review.
This is not your regular documentary. My limited view of Alaskawas broadened and what I have learned from history class. But this book really pushed my boundaries out of its limits. I was really caught up in the events and stories of this book giving me a clear picture of the different periods in Alaska. A land that came from almost nothing, to a place that was involved in so many stages of many prominent countries development, and the riches that led hordes of people flocking to  its riches; to make their claim on their own wealth. Where do you start? There is so much detail and history revealed in this book.I really discovered the full content of the words “the Good the Bad and the Ugly”, all this get revealed in this book regarding the development of Alaska. What stood out most was that the native people of the land consist not only of Eskimo’s, but different tribes of Indians. I never knew they lived in Alaska, but now I know. We also discovered the influence of Russiain Alaska, how they moved in to the land claiming vast parts of the land as their property. They started trading with the natives, and also became involved in the fur trade that was the gold of that time; until the Gold rush to the Klondike in 1896. A very interesting fact that was highlighted to me was that Americabought Alaskafrom the Russians, not the native’s of the land, amazing.
There is a fast amount of historical information in this book capturing the many people that contribute to the development of Alaska, as we know it today.

If you like History, and want to know more about Alaska, and especially how the gold rush affected Alaska, this is a good book to use; it has a lot of historic photos as well that is placed strategically in the chapters for you to have a better grasp of the times. A must have for the history junky.

My Review for Volume 2
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
This is the second book in the Alaska documentary series,  the development of the vast land of Alaska continues; with all the different gold rush time periods from the early 1800’s until the early 1900’s carefully documented, and the landscape of Alaska that had evolved tremendously. In the beginning of the book we had the feud concerning the border between Alaskaand Canada, which made for some interesting reading. At the end Canada won and the border was laid down as they wanted it. A lot of information was given in the first book, but in this book a lot of missing detail is presented so the first book becomes more real as we meet the different people that had a lasting influence in the early years of development in Alaska. We see how a new country developed, and how the things that happened draw the good and the bad. All of a sudden authorities had to be appointed, and we see how law enforcement, police judges and the postman were added to the mixture. We learn more about the people that used their positions, to steal the claims from the uninformed prospectors, with legal paperwork.  Alaska became a country that was a haven for the outlaws running from America, but they were caught and brought to justice, in most occasions, immediately. This volume has more detail, which fills the blank spots, and answers questions you maybe had when reading the first book.Very well written and researched, I found this book highly informative. A resource for the history junky, filled with facts and photos that gives you a clear picture of Alaska’s history.
This is also a tribute to Phyllis Downing Carlson’s lifelong work by Laurel Bill. Showing her dedication to her cause, and to enrich us with the rich history of this fascinating country. Really a great book to be enjoyed.

HIS BY SUNRISE EXCERPT FOR ADULTS:Strong arms slowly embraced her from behind. She tried to pull away, but if she wanted to be honest with herself—it just felt right. This moment. This man. His light aftershave enveloped her like a balm to her wounds. She leaned back and let out a sigh. Just make the ache go away. “Do you remember what I said to you the day we first met?” His words played in the hair against her neck while he settled his hand on her stomach. Chills tickled down the length of her spine in anticipation of the pleasure his tone promised. She nodded. “That when you close your eyes at night all you’ll see are my emerald eyes looking at you.” Her voice cracked on the last note. He ran his fingers up and down her arms while the one on her stomach pulled her snug against him. His touch was light, but the fire from the simple contact infused her skin and set her libido ablaze. Her heart softened a fraction more for the man and the power his touch held over her. As she spoke, he gently turned her around to face him. “And I meant it, sweetheart. Doesn’t matter if you decide to walk out that door. I’ll never forget the way you look at me. The way you have touched my soul. We might come at this from different angles, but there’s no denying what we feel for each other. Not any longer.” “Seems love should be easier than this, don’t you think? “Nothing is ever easy, love. I let your brother down once. Before tonight, I saw the promise I made as my penance.” He pulled her closer. “All that changed today when I thought I’d lose you forever. This,” he squeezed her just a little harder, “is all about you and me now.” She liked that. She turned. A wicked grin tilted his lips. She loved to see him smile. Especially this night. It had been so long since even the faintest hint of a smile had lit his eyes as it did now. Which brought everything back to center stage. What now? Her head screamed at her to step back across the threshold and run like hell. Her heart pushed her deeper into the warmth his words and arms offered. “Bella, look at me.” The lazy heat in his voice called to her. She licked her parched lips that burned with questions, yet she was so desperate for his lips to caress hers instead. Their gazes connected, and she had all the answers she needed. He lowered his head slowly, but she wanted more. Faster. Harder. Isabella threw her arms around him and leaped into his arms, wrapping her legs around his waist in one smooth motion. His hands landed firmly on her ass, pulling her closer. In a single stride he pinned her flush against the wall. Pictures clattered to the floor with only a small rug to break the fall. She broke their kiss and received a deep growl and a nip to her lip. She slid her tongue along the tender flesh and watched in awe as his gaze followed her every move. Like he couldn’t get enough of her. Her heart beat against her ribcage, threatening to burst with the love that filled her. “Take me, Blake. Not for just a night, but for now, and as long as you’ll love me. I’ll take it.” She felt vulnerable, unsure what to do now that she’d set it all out there. So she let her body react for her. “Baby, this isn’t a one night kinda thing.” His hands worked around her waist as he lowered her feet to the floor. “I am still waiting on an answer.” Solid muscle slid between her legs, opening her up to his touch. Electricity shot through her on contact. Her clit responded first with a pulse of heat that stole her breath away then gave way to delicious shocks that rocked her from head to toe. “Do you want to come for me, Isabella?”
Sexy Siesta - Teaser 4
TEQUILA SUNSET EXCERPT FOR ADULTS:Ema eased out of Gabriel’s arms to face him. That same seductive tone she was powerless to resist washed over her like rich, dark chocolate, leaving her heart thundering. Hot liquid pooled in the crotch of her panties. “Like this?” She slid the buttons of her top out of their hold again and slipped the material first off one shoulder then the next before losing the material altogether. She cupped her breasts, letting her nipples slip between her fingers. A groan rattled deep within Gabe’s throat, giving her the courage to continue. “Let me see them.” He moved into her space to peel her hands away. If he kept looking at her with such fervor, she’d be lost. “God, I’ve missed you. I’ve dreamed about having you again. Just like this.” “You’ve dreamed of me, Gabriel?” His gaze simmered with a deeper passion than she’d seen before. From his kneeling position looking up at her, Ema saw the full force of the fire set deep in his eyes. The blaze burned hotter with each encounter, pulling her closer to the warmth he offered. “You know I have, precious. The proof is right here.” He guided her hand to stroke the ridge of his cock through his pants. Impressive in every way. With his forefingers and thumb, Gabe pinched both her nipples, forcing a moan from her. “I’m going to suck those delicate berries into my mouth and make you come for me. First, I want to see the rest of you.” He skimmed his fingers along her sensitive sides then worked his way toward the front clasp of her skirt. Shudders of anticipation raked through her. With the slightest touch, he had her wanting more than she could ever have. A family. A man to love her body and soul. She had to stop, pull back on her runaway emotions constantly edging her closer to him. In a flick, he released the final barrier. “Baby, I need you. We’re both in danger of me combusting right now if I don’t get you wrapped around my length soon.” Dios, he was going to be the death of her. She shouldn’t be here, but he looked at her with such intensity, as if she was his soul reason for breathing, and there was no way she could resist his allure much longer. What they had went much deeper than just lust and want. For both of them. And it scared her to the core.Sexy Siesta - Teaser 2

Excerpt: Alusia smiles wanly. “What happened in Kooram?” she asks. “There was a party. We were dancing. Seamus and I were celebrating our engagement...” I pause, ashamed. He sits beside me, unaware of my role in this, oblivious to my own deception. “It was my fault.” Seamus takes my hand. “Alondra, stop. You know this has nothing to do with you.” “It has everything to do with her,” Alusia interrupts. “And her mother.” “Look, although Alondra seems thankful for whatever you want to share with her, I don't care what these secrets are. This is not her fault and she does not need you blaming her.” Seamus's anger is new to me. I have been so amazed by his calm, his kindness; he is more like a Demorian now than I have ever seen him, and I have watched him cut a man's throat. Alusia sighs. “I do not mean to assign blame. But we can no longer pretend that this was a rogue attack, that these events have not culminated in bringing you here, that fate has not worked its magic to get this book into her hands.” She runs her fingers along the book on her lap. “It's fine,” I say. “But it was not fate. Maybe I did not make the only bad choices, but choices got us here. And I, for one, am tired of hearing about fate.” “The attack,” Seamus continues. “It was sudden. A siren spell warned us before the mages were slaughtered. I don't know how they breached the Demorian guard, but without the dying spell of an elder mage, no one would be sitting here right now with you.” “So you ran?” Alusia asks. “I don't run,” I argue. “In fact, I am only here because someone kidnapped me in my sleep.” “It was her father's wish,” Seamus mumbles. “The forces came quickly. We spread the word to meet in the caves and Kooram split into two groups: those who were running for the caves, and those who would stay behind. My parents were with those running, but I stayed. Ereditus, our commander, rallied the troops. Seamus was already by my side. My friend, Lormander...” I stop and think of that moment. Sanara's face, broken by the choice he was making, is etched into my memory. I watched her fingers slowly fall from his hand and the agony in her glance as she turned back to see him one last time tore me asunder. And now, somewhere, are they reunited? Did she lead everyone to Tallagut? Did he stay behind in the caves to face his death, remembering her kiss as the blade entered his heart? I choke on the images and tears rest on the precipice of my eyelids. “We stayed,” I repeat. “There were so many of them. It was chaos. Smoke billowed from the streets, from our homes, from everything that was my childhood. I saw young boys, thinking they were brave, split in twain as the attackers stepped over the corpses, trailing death. What I remember most was the sound. The crash of swords, the screams of the fallen, the crackle of burning. The details are hazy. We left Kooram in ruins when we saw that we were outclassed. I walked through fields of carnage to the caves, only to wake on the other side, in a mirror world, yet untouched.” “The king, he asked that we come here. He said you had the answers, the only weapon we could use against him,” Seamus adds. My shattered body sits beside him, but my mind and my soul are still with the dead. “I am an old woman, and a forgotten mage,” Alusia says. “I am also the keeper of secrets and memories. I do not forge steel. My only weapon is knowledge. But that I have in abundance, and I believe it is time Alondra take her share.” She rises from the dusty chair and approaches. I sense my hands as they lift to take the book she offers; the leather cover is hardened, but smooth to touch. I run my hand along the spine and trace the embossed seal. “Please take this to your room. You will need time, and you will need privacy. When you are done, I will be waiting for your questions.”

About the Author: Sarah Daltry writes about the regular people who populate our lives. She's written works in various genres - romance, erotica, fantasy, horror. Genre isn't as important as telling a story about people and how their lives unfold. Sarah tends to focus on YA/NA characters but she's been known to shake it up. Most of her stories are about relationships - romantic, familial, friendly - because love and empathy are the foundation of life. It doesn't matter if the story is set in contemporary NY, historical Britain, or a fantasy world in the future - human beings are most interesting in the ways they interact with others. This is the principle behind all of Sarah's stories. Sarah has spent most of her life in school, from her BA and MA in English and writing to teaching both at the high school and college level. She also loves studying art history and really anything because learning is fun. When Sarah isn't writing, she tends to waste a lot of time checking the internet for pictures of cats, shooting virtual zombies, and simply staring out the window. She has written several books, most notably Bitter Fruits , an urban fantasy in the Eden’s Fall series, Backward Compatible: A Geek Love Story, and the six book New Adult Flowering series, including Forget Me Not, Lily of the Valley, Blue Rose, Star of Bethlehem, Orange Blossom, and Ambrosia.

“Thank you for your help,” he said. His voice was rusty, but clear enough.
She gasped in mock shock. “He speaks! Five words and it wasn’t rude!”
Against his will, his lips twitched. She always could make him smile when he least wanted to.
She leaned forward, a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. “Let’s try something else. I know it’s dangerous—I mean, your head might explode or something—but I say we risk it. Give me a compliment.”“Fishing?” he drawled. She tsked. “That wasn’t a compliment. You’re supposed to say something nice. About me.”He didn’t answer. Mostly because he was thinking of all the things he wanted to say. That her skin looked soft and her eyes were a changeable hazel that always kept him guessing. That her tits were round and full, just begging to be nipped. That she was small compared to his 6'3" frame, but she had legs long enough to wrap around his waist as he buried himself inside her. And that red hair, a bright red flash of color on her perfect body, was a scream of danger he lusted after. While those thoughts spun through his mind, her expression soured. With a sigh, she grabbed his empty beer bottle and held it before his eyes. “Say something nice to me and I’ll get you another beer.”She shook the bottle a little to grab his attention. It didn’t work. He was too busy watching how the breeze pressed her blouse flat against her chest. Her bra had lace, which meant texture, and he wondered what sound she’d make if he tugged it back and forth against her nipples.“John–-”
“That’s a nice b-blouse.” Damn it, he’d almost said bra.
Her mouth flattened with a sigh. “I thought you’d like it.”
Alea leaned forward as she pushed to her feet. A curl of brown hair tumbled forward, pushing past the tiny gold hoop in her ear to dangle right before him. Without thinking, he grabbed the lock, winding it around his fingers. It wasn’t even long enough to pull into his fist. But it was close enough to hold her still. Her eyes widened in surprise and her mouth—those plump, pink lips—formed a perfect O.God, he’d been gone so long. And she was so much of a woman now.
“John?”
He wanted to say something, but he hadn’t the words. Just a thick want. He took a breath, trying to clear his head, but all he tasted on the air was her. A citrus scent, so appropriate to Florida and so missed when he was in Afghanistan. But there was another scent on top. The taste of woman, hot and spicy despite her demure yellow shirt. He should let her go, but his fingers just wouldn’t cooperate. He tightened his hold. And when her hair started to slip through his grip, he pushed forward in his chair. He deserved one taste. He sacrificed so his country would be safe. One kiss was nothing when stacked up against that. But if he was going to take her mouth—and he damn sure was—then he was going to take something else too...

AUTHOR BIO:
Aimie Grey didn’t read a single book until she was in her early thirties. One fateful day, her friend decided to put an end to the madness and shoved a steamy romance novel under Aimie’s nose. After being forced to read one of “those” scenes, Aimie went home and bought the book, and the next one, and the one after that. In the two years since, Aimie has read close to four hundred books. Somewhere along the way, she became frustrated with reading repetitive stories revolving around the experienced man seducing the still virginal woman. Aimie decided to take matters into her own hands and wrote her debut full length erotic romance novel Never to Keep.In addition to her day job as an IT system administrator, and her new evening gig as a writer, Aimie’s primary role in life is wife and mother. Aimie lives in the Midwest with her husband and two teenage daughters. (Now you know why she needs those books!)

Forgiveness - 2 Years EXCERPT
It seemed more and more lately that no matter how hard she tried, he looked right through her. It was infuriating and heart breaking. She'd had enough heartbreak during the past year to last her a lifetime. Her mother had been sick battling cancer all last year. Unfortunately she’d lost the battle. She’d made sure to pass on information to Mary while on her deathbed though.Something Mary had never seen coming. She was adopted. Her world felt as if she had lost all control. The adoption information that her mother had left with her will quickly found its way into the trash. Why would she want to find someone who didn't want her? She had enough instances of that in her own home. She did wonder, after a year, if she had reacted too rashly. You never know when you'll need family, and if she met her biological mother maybe she could figure out who she was, inside and out.Mary plopped herself on the bed and let out a huge rush of air. There was no way Joe hadn’t noticed her outfit. She had bought it specifically for their ten-year anniversary night. She remembered how she had anxiously awaited this evening and decided that she would make it perfect no matter how she was feeling. Every year on this day, they left the house at four twenty five and drove to the lake where he had romantically declared his undying love and proposed to her. He always hired a horse drawn carriage. The prancing steed would take them from the lake to a lovely candlelit dinner for two. After having one too many glasses of wine and a wonderful meal, they would enjoy a leisurely stroll to the theater. Wicked was currently playing on Broadway, and she couldn’t wait to hear the music that made her soul dance and her heart soar. Re-reading the book several times had her excited, and she knew the night would be perfect. Then reality reared its ugly head.Carefully she unlaced her corset and tossed the silky white thong in the corner; it still held the dampness from her unquenched desire."I can't believe I wasted my time and effort on this. Sometimes my husband is such a jerk," when she took a look around it dawned on her that she was talking to herself. Another deep breath and swish of hair and she mused, "I guess its okay to talk to myself as long as I don't answer back, huh CC?"She slipped her silk robe on quickly and snatched the cat from his slumberous repose. He squirmed to free himself but Mary kissed his little nose first. "Don't be like your daddy, at least notice I'm here." She placed the cat gently on the bed and started her morning ritual. Getting ready for work was the last thing she was interested in.
Forgiveness - Author Photo AUTHOR BIOWriting books has been a long time in coming for me. When I was younger, my father and I lived in a town where a kid could run the streets all ‘willy nilly’. When I was old enough to babysit myself I was off and running. To where you may ask, the library. At the time the library was in an old shop on a street in town. The children’s books were in the back room and that was where I spent my days. I was never without an adventure in my hands, and I never failed to finish the summer reading program with books to spare. My love for reading didn’t stop there. My mother is an avid reader and she acquired most of her books from a exchange shop. You would purchase your books there, and return them for partial credit and get more. One night I was left with a bag of to be returned books. It was a Piers Anthony book, Night Mare to be exact. I devoured that book and any other that he has written. I currently am the proud owner of at least 70 of his books. I’m working toward getting them all, I wish he’d quit writing so quickly. The writing bug caught me when my 12th grade English teacher wanted to use MY essay to show the class. He put it on projector film and everything. I was so excited. The assignment was to pick a month and write about it. Of course, being the child that I was I had to be difficult about it. The rest of the class chose June, July, April and went on and on about how lovely and warm and all of the fun things you can do. Mine was about December. I still remember the first line (and may have the transparency somewhere in my mess); December spreads her snow-filled wings and covers our world in cold despair. From that paper on, you couldn’t stop me from writing. I found a few poems I had typed on an actual manual typewriter, and became a poet. I had a recurring nightmare, I wrote it down. I dreamed a dream and if I could remember it (which is harder now that I am older) I wrote that too.In 2003 I started my first full blown manuscript. I still only have four chapters completed, but I swear I will finish it someday. I guess the short attention span has brought me full circle on writing short stories. So, I guess that’s where I am today. Waiting for the first query letter to come through and make me a published writer. People ask me if I am a writer, and I firmly believe and tell them YES. I write, so that makes me a writer. I may not be published yet, but I will be.I absolutely love to get email though sometimes with the scattered mind of a writer it takes a few days to get back to you! So please forgive me if I don’t get back to you right way, but I CERTAINLY will get back to you!ajbestwrites@gmail.com - See more at: http://ajbestwrites.com/contact/#stha...FOLLOW LINKSAmazon Author Page – Website/Blog – Facebook – TwitterAnniversary Reveal Organized By: myfamilyheartbutton

Review Book Tour for Better as a Memory by Marilyn Baxter. Plus great prizes to be won.

BLURB:
Atlanta image consultant Victoria Sharpe is about to give a makeover to the man who broke her heart in college, and a do-over to a love that always should have been.

SYNOPSIS:
Looking at her potential client, Atlanta image consultant Victoria Sharpe is convinced the job will be a cross between What Not to Wear and Man vs. Wild. She’d love to turn down the offer, but refusing it—not to mention the referrals it could generate—just might break the bank. Yet, agreeing to make over this man’s image might also break her heart. Again.

Max Brown will tolerate anything to gain access to his trust fund. Returning to work in the family business, even submitting to his mother’s demands to trade his comfortable flannel for Armani is worthwhile if he can get the money necessary to start a camp for at-risk boys. But then he sees he’ll be working with Victoria Sharpe, his college girlfriend, the one who got away. Or, really, the one he left. The impression he makes here will be the most important of his life, and the person most as risk is himself.

She started out by writing fanfiction about Clark Kent, Lois Lane and Superman, which developed into a desire to write about her own characters. She’s had over forty short stories published in the confessions and Romance magazines. Also, she has taught a class in how to effectively write for this genre and worked as a researcher and copy editor for several Romance authors. All this combined to give her a great love of the Romance genre and helped develop a multitude of friendships in the Romance community. She’s a member of Romance Writers ofAmerica, as well as her local chapter, Heart of Dixie. In addition to reading, Marilyn loves to knit (as long as it’s only a scarf), cook (in the crockpot), garden (in a couple of pots on her patio), and her motto is “Have passport, will travel.” She’d love to add to the list of 32 states and 21 foreign countries she’s already visited. After raising two great sons, she loves to spoil... er... dote on her two granddaughters.

EXCERPT

Max jangled his car keys in his hand as he waited at Victoria’s door. He felt as nervous as a fifteen-year-old on his first date. He wore the gray pants and navy blazer Victoria had approved together with a brilliantly white shirt and a yellow tie with small navy dots. He wiggled his toes in his new black oxfords and marveled at how comfortable they were. True to her word, Victoria had steered a wide berth around wing tips and had showed him that style and comfort were not mutually exclusive.
He knocked a second time and nervously straightened his tie. And when she finally opened the door and he got his first glimpse of her, he let out a low whistle. His gut told him he would have a hard time keeping his hands off her.
And hard was the operative word as his body twitched below his belt. The black dress had a ruffled skirt that skimmed her knee. The V neckline teased at her cleavage but left plenty to the imagination. Simple sapphire and diamond earrings sparkled as they caught the light, and he saw a matching bracelet circling her wrist. While her high-heeled shoes were plain, they made her legs seem as if they went on forever. And when she bent to pick up her purse from a table beside the door, he caught a glimpse of her black lacy bra and gritted his teeth in an effort to will his body to cooperate.
This might be a very long and very frustrating night.
After taking her arm and helping her negotiate the steps down to the drive, he held her purse and wrap while she settled into the passenger side of his SUV. She had certainly taken her own advice to heart. She was stylish and understated, but he wasn’t so sure her classic beauty wouldn’t make her stand out like a diamond among pieces of coal.
They chatted about mundane things for most of the drive to his parents’ estate, but when he turned into the long drive lined by towering pines, he posed a question. “Are you okay with me introducing you tonight as my image consultant? I mean, that won’t make you feel like…well, you know.” He was at a loss for words.“What you are trying to ask is if I’ll be insulted if people think I am your employee.”
“Well, yeah. I mean, you’re not, but in this crowd, that’s liable to be what people assume. I was just thinking you might drum up a little business when people see how you turned the beast into Prince Charming.”
“Too bad I didn’t tame his raging ego, too.”
“Touché.”

Victoria laughed, and once again Max had to scold his misbehaving libido.

My 4.5 Star Review

I was given this book for an honest review.
This book has all the elements of a classical and sweet romance story. A decision made in their youth causing them to separate, again confronted the main characters as they found themselves in a similar situation years later. What will be the outcome? Victoria Sharpe, owner of a image consulting business, agreed to do a makeover to the son of Brown Industries, the largest private owned company in the State, Max Brown. Victoria’s business is suffering financially and this could be her big break, but she and Max have a history she doesn’t want to repeat.Max’s mother Julie has her own motives for changing his image. She wants her son to look more like an executive, than a guy that lives in the bush; even though he is more comfortable in his hiking gear. As soon as Victoria met with Max, the flame that was dead for seven years ignited once again. However, she refused to give in, not interested to fall for his charms, and she told herself as much. But as the meetings progressed for the makeover so things of old started to surface again.
The characters are believable and likeable. Feeling the pain that Victoriahad to endure when she was left alone at such a young age. At the end love conquered and the mistakes of the past were rewritten, and the love that they had discovered at a young age wins at last.
