Death crept into the castle. Mara could feel its darkness pressing her down. As she walked to her father's bedchamber, the thought of marrying a man she did not love weighed heavily on her. All the invitations had been sent out months ago. Just as her life was beginning to almost feel normal, her father, King Philip, had fallen ill along with the court of Casmerelda and much of the kingdom. The second wave of the plague violently spread, leaving a trail of death and burning corpses for the living to clean up.Her father had been bedridden for three days. His fever spiked and his skin glistened. He grew delirious, falling in and out of consciousness. As much as she despised him for what he’d done to her sister’s boyfriend, he was still her father. She didn’t want to be left alone.“You must marry Astin at once.”Mara cringed. “I can’t.” Her lips hidden as she wore a piece of ivory cloth against her nose and mouth, the slightest bit of protection from the disease that had taken over the kingdom. “I don’t love him. Please don’t do this to me.”“Don’t be selfish.” The words struggled to reach his lips. He coughed and heaved, his chest rising and falling quickly as his pulse raced. “I’ll be with your mother soon…”“You’ll be dead.”Taking in several deep breaths, he opened his mouth, his words coming out as a whisper. “You will be reigning queen. Mara, you must act the part. Marry Astin and forge an alliance with the country of Morro, for the sake of Casmerelda. Your people need you.”“I need you,” Mara said, gripping her father’s hand. She frowned, studying the tips of his fingers, a blackened hue lacing his skin.“You shouldn’t touch me.” He tried to pull away, unsuccessfully. Her grip remained tight, but more significantly, he’d grown weak from the disease ravaging his body.“I haven’t been infected, and I’ve been at your bedside every night.” Mara ordered the servants to bring more water and rags. It had done little good to break his fever or alleviate the discomfort he must have been experiencing, but it was all she could think of to help.“Marry Astin.” His words were rough slipping past his lips. He wheezed, trying to speak, but Mara rested a hand upon his chest.“Don’t.” She didn’t want to have this conversation again.“For the sake of the kingdom,” he said, pleading with her.Mara refused to answer. Marrying Astin wasn’t what she wanted. “I have no desire to be queen so young. You will pull through, do you hear me?”He’d fallen into a deep slumber, unable to answer her.

His Princess was a little bit eclectic, a lot of eccentric, and a big time potty mouth. She was outgoing and loud, but held her friends and family close to her heart. She ranted about everything wrong in the world and her wild passion made him fall hard and fast. His life gave him the middle finger when she opened his eyes to the beauty around him - or right in front of him.
Her ‘Prick-a-Doodle-Do’ was uptight businessman through and through. He never saw the fun in anything and she knew right from the start that she could have fun with this man and get him to open his eyes. He made her see that she didn’t have to always be alone, even when surrounded by people. His knack of bringing out the best in her was what made her fall for him, even if she didn’t want to admit it to herself.
Both of them were raised in ‘high society’, but where one was guided by the rules, one had fun going against them. He was her new boss and she didn’t give two hoots about it, so when she was given an opportunity to express her views about a certain subject, she readily agreed. It was now her personal mission to make the life of her boss a little harder, while experiencing a little fun along the way.

“Bossman, what are my shoes?” I asked and leaned back in my chair to put my feet up on his brand new desk.
“Stilettoes?”
“Wrong, for starters, no one calls them that these days. They’re either pumps or heels. Normally, if they’re designer, you just give people that name. What color is my shirt?”
“Red?” he asked, puzzled at where I was taking this.
“No, it’s burgundy. My hair is also in a low twist to the side, but you’d say that it was a ball of mess on the side of my head. My point is, no female author should write her male lead so . . . girlie. He shouldn’t know what cut her dress is or what the exact shade of her nail polish is, because, putting it simply, men don’t know these things. They don’t want to know. The second real men start showing an interest, their girl will never stop asking for their opinions. All men want to do for an easy life is say ‘Yes, dear’ and scratch their balls while watching a game,” I ranted. All the while his eyes got wider.
“You need to calm down, Princess,” he finally said, but I shook my head.
“But why? As readers, we are basically paying these authors to produce shit work. I don’t want to read that every male character has a monster cock and can give award-winning oral sex. No virgin can deep throat on her first go and the wording, oh my God. Do I really have to read every character announce that they’re coming like a freight train in every sex scene. If the sex is good enough, it should be clear to the reader in the description, not through ‘Incoming orgasm approaching platform three, please stand clear of the gap!’”

5 Star Review by Charelene. Arc provided for an honest review
Can this Author's writing get any better? And the story was even better than the first book.
This book picks up where we were left hanging in Book 1.
The Book tugged on my emotions. I felt Happiness, Sadness, Betrayal, Excitement, Anxiousness and Anger.
And just when you though i am falling deeper for Alex, he went and did the unthinkable.
Oh and Michael turns out to be a very likable character.
This Book will not disappoint and will make you lose sleep. I can't wait for Book 3.
I have no hesitation in Recommending this Series to those romance lovers.

We sit in silence for a few moments, Alex tracing my scar with his fingers. He moves slowly behind me. I feel his breath against my neck. It’s a warning to all my senses to be on my guard. My body yearns for his touch. I want him. The darkness and uncertainty of the last few minutes has lifted and has been replaced with desire. He places small kisses on my neck and slowly but gently moves down my back until he reaches the scar, where he stops and lingers. Seriously? He can’t keep overthinking this, or it will be a painful weekend for both of us. I don’t want to waste the time we have together.“Alex.” My voice is barely a whisper.“Yes, baby.”“I want you now, please.”“You have me.” He moves from behind me and pushes me down flat on the bed. He pulls my bra straps off my shoulders and throws the bra on the floor. How did I not notice him undoing the clip? He stands at the side of the bed and removes his trousers and boxers in one go.Oh, what a sight before me.“Libby, see what you do to me?”My eyes slowly run the length of his body, leaving the most important part, at this moment, to savour.“Anything I can help you with, Miss Stewart? You seem to be rather taken with a certain part of my anatomy,” he says with a devilish grin.“Of course you can help. It’s a part of your body I want to get reacquainted with, considering how long it’s been since we were last together like this.” I reach my arms out to him and pull him toward me.His grin is infectious. His lips find mine with passion and force. His tongue invades my mouth almost violently. I forcefully run my hands through his hair. A slight moan leaves him. His hands are all over my body, not staying in one place long, which is just as well, because I need this as quickly as he does. There will be plenty of time for deep and meaningful later. There’s no doubt in my mind what we both want in this moment. All the frustration of our weeks apart boils away between us. We both seem to be worked up. He seems to be right where he wants to be and looks straight into my eyes for approval, which I give. My hands leave his hair and travel down his back. I move my legs, wrapping them around his waist, giving him all the invitation he needs.

Sunstone by Holly Barbo. A Steampunk Thriller. With the gears of time ever moving and trouble spiraling to a crisis point, can three individuals and a handful of fossils prevent a violent revolution?

Before there was a history, the sun goddess Navora visited a moon within her realm that held primitive ocean life. She dipped her staff of power into the primordial sea and stirred. Pleased with what she had wrought, she departed, not at all troubled that a divine spark had touched two small dying sea creatures.
As centuries pass, life on the moon develops into a geothermal steam-powered industrial age. A triumvirate of politicians, banks and corporations bring strain and suffering to the masses they rule over. Unbeknownst to the people of the moon, there may be help. With the gears of time ever moving and trouble spiraling to a crisis point, can three individuals and a handful of fossils prevent a violent revolution?

Ravarian wiped the sweat off her forehead and peered out over the strait. Her grey eyes were clear and resolute. The clear day was warm and so beautiful that her heart filled with bittersweet joy. Grateful for this last gift from the Goddess, Ravarian pulled in her line and the small fish on it. Once it was stored in her cooler, she moved her boat again. No one watching her would be able to see when she palmed the fossil and let it slip beneath the waves as she pulled in her catch. Hours went by as she continued to cast her line.
Her task accomplished, Ravarian decided to stop performing for her watchers. Returning to shore with her cooler full of her catch, she was met by the young man she had rented the boa from. He grinned at her and the size of her haul. They bantered about her luck. She loaded her steam car to return home and smiled her good-bye. As the steam filled the chamber and she began to move, Ravarian gave a final salute. The lad laughed and way her away. When her vehicle crested the rise on its way back to the city, his face took on a serious expression and he returned to the hut. On his desk was the dash-key and, without wasting a minute, he tapped out his report and hit "send".
She was ready when the uninvited visitors came. Her mind was at peace. As she opened her door to them, she had the random thought that the police reports and newspapers would report her death as a victim of a brutal home invasion burglary. Ravarian was shoved into her living room as one of the men tore her pictures and books from the walls. The other set a bad down that clunked with ominous metallic sounds and approached her with the gait of a predator. She knew that the next few hours would be unpleasant for her and frustrating for her guests. No one would hear her screams. They wouldn't learn what they wanted to know, only enough of a story so they wouldn't go after her loved ones. This particular chapter of the Sunstone would close for now, but she was confident that the little fossils, there would be another day just as she know she wouldn't live to see the next sunrise.

Magic Mike XXL ain’t got nothin’ on Kinky Kinkaid. Kinkaid by Rie Warren. Book 4 in the Bad Boys of Retribution Series.

BLURB:From the world of Carolina Bad Boys and Retribution MC, a steamy New Adult standalone novella . . . Magic Mike XXL ain’t got nothin’ on Kinky Kinkaid.
Kinkaid:
Bonafide pussy magnet. Kinky Kaid I wanna get laid. Yeah, I’ve been called that shit and more. It comes with the territory. See, I’m a male stripper. I shake my moneymaker so I can pay the bills and take care of my people.
I’m also a hardcore, hell-bent biker dude, the newest prospect at Retribution MC. Probie 2.0, and they can never find out how I earn my living. Women love me. They toss their panties at me. They push hundred dollar bills into my G-string. I’m down and dirty and the honeys dig it. All but one.
There’s this girl, Sadie. She’s beautiful and funny and kickass with some major ink. I’d never make a move on her because she’s my best friend.
Sadie:
Best friend? Bullshit. Kinkaid treats me like I’m his kid sister. I’m the hell-raiser, the tomboy dirt biker, his late night call but never like that. He thinks he’s safe from me. I’m going to prove him wrong. I’ll make him see me as a woman one way or the other.
When I find out what Kinkaid’s been hiding there’s hell to pay. Except then he gives me a lap dance. A hot, wicked, panty-melting lap dance. A lap dance that unleashes our intense desire, fresh jealousy, distrust and anger.
Everything changes after that, and not for the better. I love him. I hate him. I can’t lose him. Sometimes I can’t stand him. He’s hot as sin on a sultry lowcountry night, and he’s still my best friend.
I don’t know if he’s man enough to give me what I need.
Warning: Graphic sex, graphic action, graphic language. Triple X caution.

EXCERPT: I accepted a stiff drink from Rebel-Mae, the funky punk bartender with the glow-in-the-dark pink fauxhawk, forgetting for a moment I was the Grade-A beef in the joint. No sooner than I took my first sip of Jack, women surrounded me, pressing against me, panting all over me. I couldn’t very well leave the clients out in the cold. I slung an arm around one of them and smiled at another, raising my eyes in a help-me expression across the bar toward Rebel-Mae when something familiar snagged my gaze. I did a double take. Then a triple look. Then my legs almost collapsed out from under me. My heart went sluggish. My body felt cold. My gaze stopped on none other than Sadie my-motherfucking-best-friend Grace. Holeeey Shit. She stared at me with wide unblinking eyes and pink spots on her cheeks. Everything got real hot, real fast. I hadn’t been this nekkie in front of my best girl since . . . oh yeah . . . never. I was acutely aware of that fact as Sadie’s eyes coasted painstakingly from the top of my head all the way to my toes like she was taking inventory. My heart returned to its normal rhythm then it decided to go one better and jackhammer in my chest. I returned Sadie’s stare with the same scrutiny. No wonder I hadn’t picked her out in the crowd. Sitting about five feet away from me, she looked like a complete stranger . . . a very sexy stranger.Sadie usually wore paint-splattered coveralls, torn jeans, and baggy T-shirts with her thick hair braided down her back. Tonight her hair hung loose and straight as a sunbeam. It reminded me of the beach at Isle of Palms—a mixture of white gold and sun-spun brown, little sparks of red filtered in. Soft and silky and silty. It wasn’t just the hair that blew me away. Sadie had curves all of a sudden. Where the hell had those come from? The killer dress was the same turquoise blue as her eyes and made her irises stand out all the more. The dress? Oh man, it was silk or something, cinched at her waist with a straight skirt that didn’t go low enough on her thighs as far as I was concerned. And the top? That was no better. The neckline needed to be a lot higher, turtleneck high, come to think of it. As it was, the damn thing hugged what looked like perfectly round tits, a suspicion supported by the fact a tight V of tawny cleavage was very, very visible. Finally—dear Lord—her long willowy legs ended in inappropriately strappy, high heels. Not her standard, sexy Fox Racing Moto-X boots. This was not the regulation Sadie uniform I was used to. Her outfit definitely affected the blood pounding through my body—loudly in my ears and coursing lower at an alarming rate to my cock. My cock that was barely covered in black mesh. Yeah, it was about to bulk up.Sadie only glanced away from me when one of her group tapped her on the shoulder. The chicks giggled and whispered, and my worst fears were soon confirmed. It was a bachelorette party. Yep, one of the babes wore a veil and a white sash that read: Bridezilla! Tall glasses littered the table, and out of each one popped every bride-to-be’s favorite party favor: a plastic penis straw. The women were well lubricated, well on their way to Happyville with a trip to Hangover City in the morning. Sadie didn’t look happy. Not one bit. I’d thought her discovering my dirty little secret was the worst of it. I was proven wrong in the next instant when Sadie’s crazed posse pointed at me, chanting, “LAP DANCE! LAP DANCE! LAP DANCE!”You have got to be fucking kidding me.But no. It got a million times worse when Bride-fucking-zilla (that shit was no joke apparently) got up, drunk-swayed over to me, and pushed me at Sadie. “With her!” Bridezilla shouted as I stumbled in Sadie’s direction. “WHAT?” I caught myself moments before I face-dived between Sadie’s legs, rocked backward, and then quickly moved clear to the other side of the table. Where my ass was immediately pinched. Bridezilla looked expectantly at me then Sadie.“What?” Sadie echoed my question.“Well, you two can’t keep your eyes off each other,” said the blonde wifey-to-be. “Might as well get your hands in on the action too.”This can't be happening . . . Jesus fucking Christ.Yahoo! said my cock. That thing needed a choke on it.Older brother/best friend? I felt none of those things all of a sudden, especially when Sadie looked in my direction and slowly wet her lips. Maybe shock and horror wasn’t quite what she was feeling after all. I was definitely hot-faced, and no way did I want to give my best friend—my hottie hot best friend—a freakin’ lap dance. Unfortunately the rules were the rules. “Gotta go change first,” I mumbled.

For Adriano (Chicago Syndicate, #3) by Soraya Naomi
Excerpt: Adriano’s point of view
As I climb the stairs to the strip club of the Syndicate’s three-story headquarters, located alongside the North Shore of Chicago’s suburbs, I already recognize voices coming from the room at the end of the hall. I’m greeted by Luca and James, who are in the middle of the room beside the rounded burgundy sofa. I nod to both of them and fix my focus on the unknown woman with an attractive bob standing next to James. I’m usually not a fan of women with short hair, but who is this delectable creature?James takes his cue to introduce us. “Adriano, meet Camilla. She’ll be working here at the club from now on.”Why did he suddenly hire someone new? We’re not understaffed. I can’t help but stare at her. My god, her legs go on forever; she’s almost as tall as I am, and I’m over six feet. I inspect her body slowly, like no one is watching, and when I reach her face, I’m pleasantly stunned that she’s challenging me with an arc of her perfectly shaped eyebrow. Her eyes are deep brown, heavily lashed, and slightly tilted up at the corners. Her cheeks are delicately boned. She looks absolutely appetizing in a tight, black knee-length dress. Sexy, yet not too revealing. In other words, she’s smokin’ hot! “Camilla, nice to meet you.” I go old-school, take her hand in mine, and kiss her knuckles.Luca hides an eye-roll, but I catch it and grin.“Adriano,” she says huskily. Her voice is hoarse. Hoarse in the sexiest way I’ve ever encountered. I didn’t expect that sensual voice to accompany this striking woman who smells like vanilla. With her, my obsession with vanilla ignited. “Welcome to our little establishment.” Then I address James while holding on to her hand, “What will she be doing here?”“Bartending,” James answers.“Then I better show her the ropes.” I let the pad of my thumb swirl over her fingers, and she shivers noticeably; she’s not immune to my charms. And I guide this interesting woman to the bar, which is a stainless steel and black granite area that’s open at each end and set up like a juice bar.She speaks before we step behind it. “I can make drinks.”Her simple statement has me confused.“You look like you don’t believe I can tend the bar,” she elaborates.Oh no, sweetheart, I’m not doubting your qualifications. I’m just staggered by the sex vibes you’re throwing around with that voice and those gorgeous lean legs.I smirk while extending my hand, inviting her behind the bar. “No, I believe you.”That was the first night I tried to get Cam into my bed. I failed that night and for over three months after and almost gave up my chase, but it was too much fun to try to capture her. I don’t even think she liked me at first.

About Author Soraya Naomi

I read many genres but favor intense, dark, seductive, and provocative novels where the male character loves fiercely, without remorse or boundaries. I also adore forbidden love tales and have an odd fascination with kidnapping romances. No, I don't secretly want to be kidnapped, though!
I have a passionate obsession with the written word and indulge in chocolate pastries much too often.
My debut novel For Fallon (Chicago Syndicate, #1) was released on July 26, 2014. I’m honored that For Fallon won “Best Breakout Novel 2014” in the Novel Grounds Semi Annual Literary Awards.
