Excerpt #1At thirteen, I was too old for most people to consider adopting. No matter how hard Mary looked, she couldn’t find me a foster home. I went from having everything to having nothing. My parents weren’t well off. They were just your average middle-income family with a mortgage. Once the house was sold and all the debts were paid, I wasn’t left with much. There was just enough money to buy a second-hand car when I was old enough and two suitcases full of personal possessions, including a few photo albums. That was all my thirteen years of life added up to: two suitcases.

My first few weeks at Abbott’s were probably the worst of my life. I spent my days just going through the motions at school. At night, I would cry in bed until sleep finally claimed me. After about three weeks of feeling as if I was drowning in a never-ending pit of despair, I met Anthony. I felt the bed dip behind me one night as I was lying on my side and sobbing particularly hard. I was so upset I didn’t immediately register that it meant someone was lying with me. Then I felt an arm wrap around me and heard a soothing voice in my ear telling me everything was going to be okay.
When I woke up the following morning, I rolled over to see just who had climbed into bed with me. A skinny boy with short brown hair grinned at me.
“Anthony Scott.” He held his hand out.
“Elise Morgan,” I replied. “Thanks for last night.”
“Ain’t nothing.”
We talked for a little while longer, getting to know one another. Anthony was the same age as me, but had been at Abbott’s since he was six. His parents were drug addicts, which caused his removal from their care. After telling him how sorry I was that had happened, I explained my story. It was still so hard to talk about, but I got through it and only cried a little bit.
After that day, Anthony and I were inseparable. We were the best of friends. We did everything together. When I tried ballet, he did too, no matter how much teasing he got from the other boys. When he took up guitar, so did I, even though I sucked at it. Barely a day went by that we didn’t see or speak to each other at least a hundred times. I doubt I would have survived my teenage years if it weren’t for my best friend.
Though the days were fairly easy to survive, the nights were always tough. Curled up in bed alone, the reality would hit the hardest. Memories of families lost and dreams of what could have been plagued each of our thoughts. We spent many a night in each other’s beds providing comfort. Those were always the nights I slept best.
For five years, it was Anthony and me against the world.
All that changed senior year. Anthony and I had both been working toward Cornell. We were in all the same AP classes and had the same GPA. We both applied for scholarships, knowing that was the only way we’d ever get to go to college. When I got a scholarship and he didn’t, reality came crashing down around us. I told him I wasn’t going without him, that it had been our dream. Anthony, always the strong one, told me I needed to go follow my dreams, that I deserved to go to Cornell, and he wasn’t going to let me waste my one chance to get the hell out of San Francisco.
After graduation, we agreed to have one last hoorah over the summer before heading off on our separate paths. We had the best time. We found a little apartment in the city. It was really only big enough for one person, but since it would just be Anthony’s apartment come fall, I didn’t mind it being a bit cramped.
We did everything we ever wanted to do together that summer. We visited museums and art galleries, rode the cable cars, and spent hours upon hours running around Fisherman’s Wharf. We even went to the beach and the zoo.
All the while, our separation loomed. It was constantly present in our thoughts, as if we knew it was going to be our last summer together. We were heading in two different directions come September and might never see one another again.

Excerpt“Evermore Ranch,” she read aloud.

“I hope this won’t upset your plans?”
“Would it matter? I signed a service contract that included a non-disclosure agreement. Even if I had a problem, I couldn’t tell a soul and I’ve promised you two weeks of my time.”
He chuckled softly. “Yes, two weeks to do my bidding.”
She almost choked at the thought of doing his bidding. “What the heck have I gotten myself into with you, Mr. McLemore? Exactly what type of office do you run?”
His expression changed. Sharpened. “Strictly business. Look, Dr. Rodriguez, we’ve gotten off on the wrong foot.”
“Wrong foot … the whole body is a problem, sir,” she hissed.
He smiled broadly, reassuring her. “Let’s discuss this later. This isn’t the correct time or place. Don’t you have to help the bride or something?”
“Yes. As a matter of fact, I do. I don’t know what you think you’ve contracted, but I’ll only supply you with vet services. As long as you understand that fact, there’s nothing more to discuss.”
“Well, there is. In the service agreement, there’s a provision that we need to discuss before you’re allowed access to the ranch barn and stable sites. So, either we can do it later or when you arrive in Texas. But until you and I have a little sit-down and get a few things ironed out, there won’t be any work for you to do directly. I’ve got a ranch to run, and I don’t have time to play games. I’ve already spent enough time finding a vet.” His eyes glittered and dropped to her mouth. “If you think I’m about to waste more time because you’ve got second thoughts, Dr. Rodriguez, the next communication you’ll have from Evermore Ranch will be from my attorneys. Had I known who you were before, believe me, I wouldn’t have … I’d never let the situation get away from me.”
Oh, this was rich. “Away from you. I’d say it got out of control. But that’s on your side of the table. Fine. I’ll honor my service contract. You’re right about one thing. The only thing of interest to me is treating your cattle. Once the job is done, I’ll be only too happy to leave you in peace and we can go our separate ways.”
Up close, his eyes shone sherry-colored. A muscle flexed along his jaw. His masculine scent of leather, smoke, and wood filled her head. The hard set of his mouth didn’t resemble the man from before. He’d done just as he’d promised, shutting one door, and leaving in place a man who didn’t look as if he enjoyed playing games. No this version of Matt McLemore had a locking gaze and if looks could kill, she was a goner.
“I’m glad we understand one another then, Dr. Rodriguez. I expect to meet with you tomorrow at your convenience. Our relationship will be strictly business, if that’s what got you in such a dither.”

CHANGE BEYOND THE PAIN VIRTUAL BOOK TOUR with Monifa Robinson Groover and Review

The purpose of this book is to teach you how to transform your life.  While this book is no substitute for the Word of God (The Bible), let this be a guide that simply helps you gain a deeper understanding of what God is trying to impart in all of us.
Change Beyond The Pain will help you discover:
•    True healing comes from allowing God to transform your life
•    You do not have to revert back to the same cycle of hurt, anger, fear and depression
•    God has a plan for your life
•    There is power and purpose in your pain
This book will teach you how to move beyond accepting change to embracing transformation.  So, if you are seeking restoration, grab your Bible, this book, and open your heart and watch the transformation begin.

About The Author
Monifa Robinson Groover, a native of New York City, moved to Teaneck, New Jersey with her family at the tender age of twelve.  Upon graduation from Teaneck High School, Monifa obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Clark Atlanta University (Atlanta, GA), as well as a Master of Social Work Degree from Smith College School of Social Work (Northampton, MA).  After relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, and extensive work in the field of social services, she obtained a Master of Public Administration Degree with a concentration in Management from Troy State University (Atlanta, GA).

Monifa has devoted her life to helping others see the potential that lies within them.  Having provided a number of services for diverse populations including but not limited to perpetrators of sexual crimes, individuals faced with substance abuse challenges and individuals in the criminal justice system; as well as having coached women entrepreneurs, her experience has taught her that neither position nor status dictate the level of pain and misfortune one may encounter.  It was at this time she realized the call on her life was much greater.

In 2003 she released her first book entitled “Within Your Reach, Inspiration That Quiets the Mind and Soothes the Soul”. (ISBN: 1-930231-03-2). This book is filled with devotions that shows people how to strategically turn their pain into gain, tragedy into triumph and victimization into victorious living.  She released her second book entitled “Change Beyond The Pain” in 2012 (ISBN: 978-0-9836776-0-4).  This book provides a more in-depth look at how individuals can use the Word of God to transform their lives.  It also shows them how to begin moving beyond the blows that life may sometimes deal.
Monifa has been called by God to help others reach their God-given potential.  Her duty is to equip others with the proper tools and resources to move beyond their circumstances and live healthier and more productive lives, which she believes can only be found when one has a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Her personal journey, combined with her education and work experience, and most importantly her relationship with Jesus Christ, collectively play a vital role in the work she passionately does today.  She resides in Savannah, Georgia and is a faithful member of New Covenant Holiness Church #3, located in Savannah, Georgia, where her beloved husband, Jamie Groover is pastor.

Blog Post/Book ExcerptsChapter 5 The Power And Purpose Of Pain
All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose
Pain is a very important and necessary part of life. In the medical field, pain is defined as an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage. Pain motivates us to withdraw from damaging or potentially damaging situations, protects the damaged body part while it heals, and serves as a reminder to avoid similar situations in the future. So even though pain is very unpleasant, it has a profound purpose; a purpose other than to cause you discomfort and make your life miserable. Since pain is so unpleasant, most would say they wish the feeling never existed, but in reality, many medical professionals become extremely worried when a patient has been injured and does not present any sign of pain. So, yes, pain does have a purpose. The question is have you discovered the purpose for your pain? Ahh, and I don’t mean physical pain. Have you discovered the purpose for your emotional and spiritual pain?
Change Beyond The Pain
Cycles, predictability, consistency, regularity…these are just a few things humans crave. The very thing humans long for is to know that everything in their lives will remain consistent. Sadly, this concept applies even when humans are involved in situations that are detrimental to their health and well-being. Most people never transition to the next level in their lives because they either don’t want change bad enough, or are unwilling to do what needs to be done for that change to occur. This may be harsh, nevertheless, it is true. Going to the next level will ALWAYS require us to move further, push harder, persevere longer, and dig deeper. Most sincerely believe they are ready for this, but the true test of our readiness comes when it is actually time to push harder, persevere longer, and dig deeper.

5 Star Review

The book started with a twist from the normal Inspirational books you read and grabbing your attention. The author’s straight forward question had me as she asked “Why you are reading this book?”
A very interesting question.
A lot of times when someone ask a question we respond immediately without thinking, so this are what the writer ask the reader. What do you expect from reading this book? Provoking a thoughtful mindset through out the book that makes you ponder. The book is about transformation. This book is a guide to see you through the process of transformation in your life leaning on the scriptures as basis for your transformation process. From the start you are challenge to look deep in to yourself as you use this guide alongside the Bible as your main source for transformation to move beyond the emotional pain.As we read this guide we are encountering tuff questions, where we need to search ourselves to be honest and truthful so we can encounter real transformation beyond the pain. When reading the guide the terms Change and transformation are clearly addressed and explained so we can understand where we are going with this guide.
To best Review this book I thought it best to do it chapter by chapter.
CH 1 Surrender.Surrender is the first step to start transformation in your life. We get confronted with the term surrender and it is plainly explained what needs to be done. God needs total surrender so we can be transformed, one thing I pickup and is stressed very much in this chapter is that we are not in control though we may think so. We have not totally surrender, unless we hand full control of our lives to God so that he can form us and we can be fruitful as he attended it for us. Not my way but His way. This chapter is devoted to total surrender to Gods purpose for your life even the questions asked confront the reader with a deep searching of own life.
CH 2 God’s Perfect Will.We get confronted with perfection in this chapter not our view of perfect but God’s view of perfection. Everything about Him is flawless. We are asked what is God’s perfect will is it possible in this world, if our eyes are taken of our abilities and we focus on God then it is possible in Christ. We are constantly reminded that God’s plan is better than ours for our lives because we have a plan and then a backup plan if the first one fails or maybe a third plan. God’s plan for our lives is infallible. Through out the chapter we get confronted with our inabilities to conquer what is causing it and the solution is provided. The writer through the working of the Holy Spirit is guiding you to deal with the inadequacies in your own life and to walk in victory in other words genuine transformation.
CH 3 God’s perfect timingWhen we go through this chapter something very valuable comes forth - the term waiting, we as humans tend to work according to the clock and we want it now, we need to take time and wait for God, his timing is perfect. We are challenged to look at timing differently, what does it entitled. When I wait must I do something? Everything concerns timing are been looked upon so we can understand it better. Timing is n very important part of the transformation process. This chapter clearly focused on the different aspects of timing that includes waiting and obedience to God’s plan.
CH  4 All for his Glory. This chapter handles the basic thing about humans selfishness, everything we do we want to be glorified and be praised. When it is after all God our Father that needs to be Glorified, a very different perspective to our view point. This chapter deals in depth to the problem so we can understand in perspective what it means to Glorify God with our lives. So that after everything is said and discussed, and the truth is brought to light. It is not about us but All Glory belongs to God our Father.
CH 5 The power and purpose of pain. This chapter handles your emotional pain, what does it mean and how will it benefit your life to understand the purpose of it in the right perspective. As I read this chapter a lot of emotion surface as a similar experience came to mind. So pain causes a lot of actions some bad and also some good. How we handle it depends on our walk with God.
CH 6 Faith…But first you must believe. For us to transform we must believe and have faith in God that he knows our future although we cannot see it now. Absolute trust in His word is essential. We learn that faith is a noun but also an action when you hear and do without questioning God.  A chapter full of powerful insight that needs to be read and carefully studied to grasp the full extent of faith.
CH 7 Transformation….It’s an inside job.The previous chapters are all building blocks to help us search and ready ourselves to fully understand transformation and ready to go through it. Transformation is a painful and difficult process but in the end just as refined gold purity comes forth.
CH 8 Transformation is within your reach. We need to take hold of this opportunity and face the pain and fears we have and push so that transformation can truly take place in our lives. It is sometimes a lonely process but take heart God is with you all the way. Transformation is a time of Revelation.
This guide is really well put together and I know why because of the Holy Spirit leading the writer to work through their own pain and receive revelation. This guide will surely help when you are seeking answers to questions no one wants to answer. You are confronted with and given solutions for the pain. At the end it is all about your place in God’s Kingdom and His perfect love for you.

New Release from Amber Lea Easton; Reckless Endangerment and Giveaway

I am proud to announce and be part of this momentous event In Amber Easton life. The release of her new Contemporary Suspense Romance. RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT  Today is Reckless Endangerment's release day!  You can buy a copy now at https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/305522#longdescr.  Print copies will be available through Amazon.  As of next week, the book will be available at all major ebook outlets. But why wait? Go to Smashwords now.

In my new release, Reckless Endangerment, I'm taking on the issues of post-traumatic stress in war veterans and human trafficking in the United States.  Sounds romantic, right?  Believe me, the love story between Colonel Michael Cedars and Hope Shane takes precedence in this romantic suspense; but the core conflicts are based on real world issues.

PTSD in war veterans isn't new; however, it is finally accepted as a genuine disorder.  My research for this story included watching programs like NBC's Dateline amongst others and reading many articles in both magazines and on the internet.  There are support groups for marines with PTSD on Facebook and other programs set up across the country.  What used to be an issue that was shoved aside as "made up" or "not manly to discuss", people are seeing that seeking help is the best way to combat this very real disorder.
I first became aware of human trafficking when I attended a documentary called, "The Price of Sex".  Wow.   If you haven't seen it, do.  It will blow your mind.  The entire theater sat speechless long after the lights came up, that's how powerful it was. From that moment, I felt compelled to do something to help these women. I started researching it, discovered more than I ever thought I'd want to know about what goes on in the shadows in some of our most beautiful cities.
So how in the world did I figure this could be wrapped inside a romantic suspense novel?  As my friends will tell you, I'm not one to play it safe.  Perhaps that's why I relate to my character, Hope Shane, and her reckless nature, I don't know.  From all of this research, a wounded marine and a redheaded journalist were born in my mind. They met in a warzone. She was a war correspondent and he was a commanding officer.  But that's their back story...the real story is what happens back home in Denver, Colorado.
That's usually where the story is...home.  The nitty gritty of life isn't always out in the light.  More often than not, what's real is in shadow, behind closed doors or hidden beneath a smile.

A blurb of Reckless Endangerment:Heroes come in many forms--soldiers who fall and rise, ordinary people doing extraordinary things, women who battle for their marriage, reporters who fight for truth and justice, and men who put it all on the line for the women they love.
Sometimes heroes fall.
Colonel Michael Cedars is a decorated war hero returning home from Afghanistan. Wounded, unsure if he’ll walk again, he’s not sure how he fits in civilian life, and he definitely questions if he wants to remain married to the feisty redhead, Hope Shane.
Hope’s never been one to play it safe. She met the Colonel while working as a war correspondent, fell in love with the man in uniform, watched him get blown up, and isn’t willing to give up on him now.
Back in Denver, Colorado, she’s working as an investigative reporter who becomes entangled in a human trafficking story. As the danger of her story intensifies, Hope and Michael are tested more than they ever imagined. Will Michael be able to see beyond what he’s lost to embrace what remains? Is he still the man she married or has he become a liability that could get her killed? Is he still the hero she claims him to be? Will her reckless pursuit of justice endanger the life they’ve pieced together?

An excerpt:

“Maybe I need to stop trying to hold on. Maybe you’re right.”  Sighing, her shoulders slumped.  “We were this close,” she held her fingers an inch apart, “to having a life together when everything blew up in our faces. Literally. What else do I have to lose, right? I already lost my dignity when I begged those damn bureaucrats to let me see you in Germany.  And when I say begged, I mean I begged, pleaded, bartered, whatever I could possibly say or do to get in and they told me that you,” she pointed at him, “said no, you told them I lied about being married to you. McGee backed you up. I looked like a fool and a liar.”          “I’m sorry,” he whispered.          “Now you’re doing it again, denying me. You’d rather sit in this place alone than admit to the world that I’m your wife. It’s true.” She nodded, gaze gluing him in place. “I gave up my everything for you, soldier boy. My life. My pride. My dignity. I gave it all up for you.”          “Why?” he choked out the question. “I did everything to get you to let me go.  I don’t want you to give up anything for me; can’t you see that? You were born to be in the spotlight, dodging bullets, charming your way into and out of trouble. I’m an anchor to you now; you know it but refuse to admit it. I want you to forget me. Why won’t you let me go?”          She closed her eyes, face tilted toward the ceiling. “Because maybe I went crazy over there. Maybe we weren’t this close,” again with the fingers, “to having a life together. Maybe we were already there. Maybe it wasn’t conventional, but it was real, it was us. Maybe I misunderstood sex for more. Maybe I thought that our wedding meant as much to you as it did to me. Maybe I’m the biggest fool to walk planet earth.”          “But now I’m broken so...”           “Yeah, that’s right.”  Nodding, she looked away and brushed the back of her hand over her eyes.  “And I’m too shallow to be the person you need, right? Too superficial? I know the truth. I know that you should be capable of limited mobility, that you are not trapped in that chair, that you have sensations in your right leg and have even managed to stand for a brief period of time here and there. Didn’t you think I’d do some research on your injuries? I may have kept my distance, but I have a knack for getting people to talk to me, remember?  Yes, you’re in a wheelchair, but your situation isn’t hopeless.  You’re the one who gave up, but for the life of me I don’t know why.  It’s not like you. You’re a goddamn colonel in the Marine Corps. You don’t surrender, so what’s going on with you?”          Her words stung. He had heard them for months now and he didn’t know the answer. He couldn’t explain anything to anyone, not even himself.          “You need to be in New York or in the middle of the action. You’re the It Girl, isn’t that what they called you?  Headed for a network anchor job one day, right? Your own show? Watch out Manhattan, here comes Shane. You’ll have them eating out of your hand within months.”          “Maybe you don’t know me as well as I thought,” she said with a bitter twist of her mouth. “I’ve been waiting...don’t you see? I could care less about a network job and you know it.”  She finished stuffing the contents into her bad before standing. “I love you. I thought you loved me, too.  Until you can look me in the eye and tell me you don’t, that you never did, I’ll keep coming back.”          He grabbed the picture frames fro the sofa cushion where she’d tossed them and looked at the broken glass.  Guilt and confusion ate away at his brain.          “Do you have any idea what it’s like for me not to know what to do? I’m a decorated officer. I made decisions minute by minute that affected the lives of my unit, yet I don’t know what to do anymore. I don’t know what to do about this,” he smacked the arms of his chair, “I don’t know what to do about you and I definitely don’t know what to do about Dalton. I’m fucked up. I hate not knowing what to do. You’re right...it’s not like me. Don’t you think I know that?”          With a muttered curse, she sat on the edge of the sofa and blinked at the ceiling.  He noticed her hands trembling as they gripped the strap of her bag. The room seemed abnormally quiet without her storming around and threatening him. He didn’t like her docile and reflective...it threw him off.          “I’m sure it’s hell.  You were always in command. For months now, you’ve had one surgery after another, been under constant care with zero privacy, me pestering you with my endless notes and your family hauling you across the country without anyone asking what you want. No one is respecting the officer in the room.”          He squinted at her. “Exactly. People talk about me rather than to me.”          “Yet expect you to snap out of your funk and get on with your life.”          “But I don’t know what that means.” Her understanding shook his resolve, weakened his resistance.          “And you haven’t tried because you’ve been mourning your old life and don’t know what the new life is yet.          “Everyone thinks I’m a rotten, self-pitying bastard.”          “Because that’s what you want us to think so we leave you alone.”  She shoved both hands through her hair and sighed. “You’re exhausting.”          “I know.” He smiled for the first time in months. “I exhaust myself, too. I’m really sick of my crap.”          “Well, that’s something.” She grinned, eyes dark with defeat. “I haven’t respected the officer in the room, have I?” She skimmed her thumb across the scar on his forehead.  “I love you, if that means anything to you at all.”          “It means something to me.” He snagged her hand, but she yanked it away and stood.          “My business card is on the table near the sofa if you need me, want to talk or whatever. My cell phone number’s on the back.” She hesitated at the door before looking over her shoulder. “I want my husband back.”

BlurbSergeant Jason Holt and his boyfriend Sergeant Patrick Wentworth have been in a secret relationship for almost ten years. When the daily paper brings news of the repeal of the military’s ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy, they think their prayers have finally been answered. Yet things aren’t always as easy as they seem, with not everybody at work supportive of their lifestyle and even their parents skeWarning: This title is intended for readers over the age of 18 as it contains explicit sex scenes and/or situations and adult language, and may be considered offensive to some readers.
Excerpt (Adult)My mind filled with images of when Patrick came into my life.
We met our first day at the United States MilitaryAcademy in West Point, New York. I was a Texan boy following in the footsteps of a long line of military men, Patrick a local New Yorker escaping a troubled life. Drawn to each other right away, it didn’t take long for us to become the best of friends. Only after we graduated from West Point did we both recognize our feelings were more than platonic.
Together, we shipped out to the 504th BFSB at Fort Hood. We bunked together for the first year, and everything was great, until one night about three months after we arrived, things changed.
I jumped in the shower while Patrick went to get takeout for dinner. When I finished getting clean, I headed out of the bathroom to get dressed. Not expecting anybody to be about but me, I didn’t bother wrapping a towel around my waist. A gasp and the thud of paper bags meeting the floor made me realize my roommate had returned.
I looked up, not expecting to see the expression of pure lust on Patrick’s face. I went from flaccid to erect in all of a second, my body’s reaction unmistakable. In two large strides, Patrick closed the gap between us, his lips colliding with mine in a passion-filled kiss. When my brain caught up with my body, I threw my arms around him, pulling him against me in a tight embrace, all the while our lips and tongues danced.
Years of pent up sexual tension seemed to explode from both of us. Our hands caressed everywhere, unable to get enough.
Feeling fabric under my fingertips instead of skin I pulled away from the kiss and set about trying to get him naked as fast as possible. I unbuckled his belt, and then unbuttoned his fly. As I pulled his jeans open, my heart skipped a beat as his dick sprang out at me. I cocked my eyebrow at him, questioning his choice of commando. He just shrugged. Since he’d given me such easy access, I wasted no time taking full advantage. I pulled his pants down until they were around his ankles, placing my mouth around the head of his cock before he even got a chance to step out of them.
“Holy fuck!” Patrick moaned. “Jesus, Jason ... so ... fucking ... good.” He placed his hand on the back of my head, guiding my movements.
I’d been on the receiving end of having my dick sucked many a time, but never given it. On my knees in front of him, I appreciated the comforting weight of his guidance. Unable to fit more than half his length in my mouth, I wrapped my hand around the base and moved it up and down in time with my mouth. The cacophony of grunts and groans coming from Patrick made my dick ache. I wrapped my spare hand around my own cock and moved it in time with my ministrations on his erection.
I glanced up and noticed him staring at me, lust written all over his face, and I almost came on the spot. I’d always hoped someone would look at me in such a lascivious manner, and for at least a year, I’d been hoping it would be Patrick. However, to see the expression on his face directed at me made my heart beat a million miles an hour. I moaned around his cock, knowing it always got me close to coming. All of a sudden, his cum shot down the back of my throat as he let out a feral sounding growl. The combination of hearing him come and knowing I brought him that pleasure sent me over the edge, my release spilling all over my hand and the floor.
Collapsing in a spent heap on the floor, we remained there for quite a while, the reality of what we’d done sinking in.
The military did not accept gays. I’d known when I enrolled at West Point, the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy meant I’d have to hide a side of myself. Raised in an army family, I understood I could never fully be myself by joining. I’d thought I could do it, no problem. Meeting Patrick, I realized hiding my sexual orientation wasn’t going to be as easy as I’d thought.
Once we both got our breath back, we crawled into Patrick’s bed and curled up together, dinner lying forgotten on the floor. We had many firsts that night. For the most part, however, we talked about what happened and what we wanted to happen.
It shocked both of us to find out we’d been harboring feelings for one another for at least a year. We’d also each chosen careers in the military even though we were both well aware we were gay.
Patrick’s hand waving in front of my face brought me out of my memories.

“Where did you go, babe?”
“Sorry, darlin’, I was just remembering the first time I gave you a blow job.”
A smile reappeared on his face. “Mmmm, I remember that well.”
“Me too. How about a do-over?” I asked with a cheeky grin.
“Sounds like a plan.”

Excerpt Tearing her mouth from his, she said, “Take me inside.”

“Are you sure?”
Climbing off him, she held out her hand, as much to feel him as to keep herself steady. “I know you need to meet Marco, but I want to do this. At least a little bit. Maybe not, you know, all the way.”
He rubbed his hands down his thighs, and then nodded. “I want that too. I will text Marco and be in soon.”
She stopped halfway to the door. “You’re not going to tell him why you’re delayed, are you?”
“I do not kiss and tell, cara.”
“Okay.” Savannah gave him what she hoped was a sultry smile. “Don’t be long.”
He wasn’t. Within moments he was following her inside. Not that she had a ton of experience, but she never knew how to lie on a bed waiting for someone and still look sexy. She settled for lying on her side with her head propped up on her hand. Apparently he appreciated the view, because he growled and slid sinuously on top, rolling her onto her back before kissing her again.
Savannah’s nails scratched down his back as he settled between her thighs, pushing his erection against her rapidly heating pussy. His hand slipped underneath her light cotton t-shirt and stroked her over her bra. Her breasts swelled in anticipation and she arched into him, hardly able to believe she needed this man so much. She didn’t even know him. Instinct told her if she knew him intimately her need would ratchet up even more.
Leaning up, Paolo stripped off his t-shirt, revealing a torso without an ounce of fat and one of her favorite parts of any man—the treasure trail. She licked her lips and heard Paolo’s breath catch. Man, his jeans looked awfully tight.

Excerpt“I wanted to ask you a few questions.”
She turned her head to face him and the room began to swim before her. “Questions, always questions with you. Let me ask you one for a change. Why are you looking for a mate?”
“To share my life with, of course.”
“Why me?” Her vision was beginning to blur. Was this what being drunk was like? She’d never been before.
He blinked several times before responding. “You’re the only one of your kind.”
“And that’s it? You want me because I’m rare?"
“I did. Before I knew you. Where is this going, Missy?”
“I’m just curious if love played any part in this search for a mate. See, when I accepted Ronald’s proposal, I believed I was in love. I figured we would have a long, happy life together, have a few children, grow old and die together.” She looked over at Draco. “Well, that didn’t exactly work out, so I was just curious what your idea of happily-ever-after is?”
“I’ve never really given it any thought.”
“Well, I would think that would be something to think about when choosing a mate. However, I really don’t know what you feel, being a direct descendent of Satan and all. Can you feel?” she slurred.
“How did you find that out?”
“I have my ways,” she responded slyly. “Can you?”
“I didn’t come here to be grilled by you.”
“I wasn’t grilling you. I was just asking questions. What’s the matter, Draco? You don’t like being questioned?”
He got to his feet. “I think I’ll come back when you’re in a better mood.”
“Oh, don't go. I’m in a perfectly fine mood now, Draco.” She swaggered toward him.
“You’re drunk.”
“Yep, yep I am. Why is it I get the strangest urge to rip those clothes from your body and see what's hidden beneath all that black?” She ran a finger along his lapel. “Yet, at the same time, I want to vomit at your feet.”
“What sort of response were you expecting from that question? Or was it a rhetorical one?”
“Yeah, the last one,” she slurred.
“This is all new to you. It will take time for you to adjust.”
“Oh, I’ve grasped it all. I’m now a demon who craves flesh and blood and my future is filled with uncertainty, but one thing remains.” The tears came up and flooded her eyes despite her fight to withhold them. “I can never go home again.”
“Missy.”
“No.” She waved him off. “Leave me be. I need some time alone.”
“You keep pushing me away, yet it’s me you need.”
“I don’t need you.” She stepped away and was shocked when he yanked her back toward him. Before she knew it, his mouth was covering hers. She felt the heat scorch her from the middle of her belly and down. Something inside of her beckoned her to surrender.
“I have never wanted a woman’s lips before.” He ran his thumb over her lips. “Yours tempt me beyond reason.” With that said, he vanished.
She slumped to the floor, her eyes flooded with tears.
Now why did he have to do that.

Shiela Stewart is a "new to me" author, and I LOVE those first reads, the first "aww's," the first "laughs" and the first "what the hells?" “Awaken the Demon is a nice short read. Draco is my favorite character in the book; he has all the charm, style, and attitude you would expect from a centuries old Demon. The dynamic between Draco and Missy is amusing and was fun. I also unexpectedly found myself charmed by a few of Draco's employees, Troyand Hunter, as they were both able to give me several laughs.”--Bitten By Books (link to full review: http://www.bittenbylovereviews.com/2012/05/awaken-demon-by-sheila-stewart.html)

Excerpt #1
Jet Ryan sat back in his chair and stared at the image filling his computer screen. Bella, aka Ink Monroe. The woman who’d swept through his life in a single night of passion and lingered to haunt his dreams day and night. Even after half a year, his mind missed her spitfire attitude; his body still ached at the thought of sinking into hers. And his heart…it had claimed her for some reason and would not let him forget.
He closed the laptop and turned to stare across the snow-covered pastureland surrounding his home. Eleven thousand acres filled with American bison and longhorn cattle. Lean meat and hell on the hoof. Few women, especially ones like Bella, wanted to settle down as a rancher’s wife these days. Endless winter nights with nothing to do but snuggle by the fire. Long summer days riding a fence line or working cattle. Calving, vaccinating, de-horning, rotating grassland, tagging, weaning, all took hard work and dedication. A rare thing in this world.
Turning back, he opened the article again. “Top Twenty Tattoo Artists in the Nation.” Ink’s name and photo fell in at number eight. The reporter had clarified Bella Ink’s work was unbeatable in quality and originality. But the fact she had no permanent residence, nowhere for customers to find her other than a cell number and an internet site, made it impossible to rank her higher.
With an unsteady hand, he clicked on the link to her site. Rich, colorful artwork filled the screen, but no more pictures of the artist, only the one in the article. He switched back to it. God, she’s beautiful. She appeared tired and defensive, just as she had that night, but beneath it all lay an evident and painful vulnerability. Her obvious stress weighed on him. Bella deserved to be protected, treasured, and sheltered from the things tormenting her.
Attempts to contact her had gone unanswered. She didn’t want to see him or reconnect. He had to accept it and walk away. You need to get laid. The simple comment from his friend had started it all, but maybe he was right…burn off some tension with someone as hot as Bella. The main drawback to such a plan lay in location. He knew nearly every woman over the age of consent in the area. Fucking one to get a stranger out of his head would come back to haunt him in a big way. Doing so would be like pissing in a public pool: everyone around him would know, and he’d have to stew in his own mess.
“Not happening.”

My 4.5 Star Review

This was so sweet that I had to add it in my review, maybe it would give away some of the plot but I couldn't resist.

"Remember, I'll come 4u-1yr"Bryn O'Bannon
The text message our hero Bryn sends to P.J. when their parents split them up tucked on my heart. Their budding love cut short because it was simply not meant to be. But as in all stories and life there is always a BUT.
Determined, strong willed and fierce the eighteen year old P.J - student and Seer - would not let go of her love for her best friend since kindergarten.
As a seer she could not marry Bryn who was below her as a Guardian but this is where the story unfolds with  much aggravation on our heroin's part keeping you wondering of that text message would be true. Hoping for a happy ending.
With much twists in the story, P.J. that found she was not 100% human found herself connect with two other men as well who wants to claim her as their own. Khol the Lord of the Dragons, who pops into her mind and life at his will and Jeremy a Gatekeeper and co-student. The man her parents wants her to marry.
But her will and premonitions put a stop to it all as the aliens who threatens to take over the world, coming through the gates and taking humans bodies hostage, governing the country as they see fit.
She was the only one who saw it happen and no one seems to listen since she was still very young and up until her eighteen birthday had never had a vision before.
Adding her annoying friend Jenna a Speaker who could listen in too any language with her crazed hair-do's and uncontrolling desires for men and speaking animals that made life very difficult for P.J. And you have an interesting plot with interesting characters that keeps your attention.
But P.J's unwillingness to listen or obey as the norm with young adults from that age would face great danger and even great and more difficult decision because of her reluctance. But at the end her persistence kept her from getting what she want but also loosing those who were the closest to her becoming the Seer she was destined to be.
Overall a great entertaining book with lots of action and romance with a well thought out plot. Leaving you with many questions at the end. A first book in the P.J Stone Gates Trilogy

ExcerptUsually, he was the one dodging the amorous attentions of the females. What did she have that others did not? Why was he so drawn to her?
From the very first time he'd seen her, he hadn't been able to stop thinking about her. A light came on in the upstairs bedroom and Eros's mouth went dry when her silhouette appeared against the thin blinds. Stepping deeper into the shadows, he watched through half-lidded eyes as she reached up to move her waterfall of hair away from her neck. Amelia's hands appeared to work the fastenings of Suria’s dress. Jealousy, an emotion Eros had never experienced, slammed into him with the force of a tornado. He wanted to loosen the material clinging to her curvaceous figure and let his hands slide around to cup her full breasts. Would she be wearing anything underneath?
Mesmerized, he groaned when the dress slipped from her shoulders and slid slowly down her arms. She turned just as the satin slipped free to reveal her breasts blessing Eros with an erotic glimpse of her profile. Her pert nipples were clearly evident against the window shade causing his cock to spring to full attention and strain the fabric of his Armani tuxedo trousers. His mouth went dry. He wanted to suckle those peaks and hear her moan. Eros tried to gain control of his wicked thoughts but lost all hope of that when she released her hair, letting it flow down her back. He ached to feel the feather soft kiss of it spread over his chest and abs.

About the AuthorsJ.T. CheyanneAfter a lifetime of reading and at the suggestion of friends, I finally put fingers to keys and started writing my own stories. BlurbMelody Mires has sworn off dating musicians, but when the sexy European conductor Wolf Braun takes over her struggling symphony, her hesitation almost flies out the window with the notes of her flute—until he opens his mouth. Wolf is arrogant, haughty, and seems to have a personal vendetta against Melody. Oh, and he’s her boss. If she wants to keep her job as principal flutist, she’ll have to impress Wolf while simultaneously keeping her undeniable attraction to herself.
Wolf came to Americato get as far away from his past as possible, and to recover some of the swagger he had as one of the world’s best maestros. He never imagined being forced to reassess the entire orchestra’s talent—and potentially fire anyone who doesn’t make his cut. Dating the attractive flutist is out of the question, but as their feelings reach a fever pitch, can they risk both their careers for a chance at love?
ExcerptMelody Mires plopped into the principal flutist’s seat in Easthampton’s illustrious Civic Symphony and buried her head in her hands. “I’m never dating another self-centered, arrogant, egotistical musician again.”
“Bad date, huh?” Carly ran her cleaning cloth through her oboe as her reeds soaked in a tiny shot glass on her music stand. Violins screeched around them while a French horn blatted arpeggios. It wasn’t exactly the best environment for discussing Melody’s dating habits.
“Let’s just say two hours of listening to a guy talk about his Stradivarius is less than enticing.”
Carly stuck her reed in her oboe and blew a tentative note. Ever since the board of directors had turned off the AC to save money, she’d pulled her pin-straight blond hair in a tight bun and wore shorts and sandals to rehearsal. “Which one is he, Mel?”
Melody considered letting the conversation drop. What did it matter? Every one of the musicians she’d dated was the same as her: burned out from practicing to beat the chair ahead of him, teaching five million lessons a day to make ends meet, scrambling for gigs two hours away on the weekends, so involved in a dying art form that he didn’t even know the Bruins were an ice hockey team.
What she needed was a nonmusician, a gorgeous firefighter or a clean-cut Gillette commercial model in a business suit. Yes, a lawyer who worked to defend the innocent would be nice, or a veterinarian for homeless and sick animals—someone who didn’t think the world revolved around him. But she didn’t travel in those social circles. She was stuck in the stuffy bubble of the classical music community.
“So you gonna tell me, or do I have to guess?” Carly set her oboe across her lap and shuffled through her sheet music.
Melody leaned over and whispered in her ear. “Blake Templeton.”
Carly gave her a shocked look. “Not Blake?”
“Yup.” She assembled her flute to try and look like she was warming up, thinking about the disastrous date with the orchestra’s personnel manager. “Good thing it didn’t work out, or everyone would think I was dating him just so he’d tenure my position.”
“I’m surprised he’d ask you out, what with his sister and all…”
Melody rolled her eyes. “Why would a flute prodigy from Julliard want this little Civic Symphony seat anyway? Seems to me a girl who played the Mozart G Major concerto in front of the New York Phil at age seven could get a seat in any orchestra. Age seven. When I was seven, the only thing I was playing was pretend flute on my toothbrush.”
Carly shrugged as if she’d told her this flute whiz could tie her own shoes. “You’re better than you think. You could give Blake’s sister a run for her money any day.”
“Thanks, hon.” Melody twirled her dark curls behind her head and stuck a pencil in to hold the knot. “Like I said. I swear never…”
The orchestra quieted around them. A man with dark chestnut hair flowing in waves around his broad shoulders took the conductor’s podium and tapped his baton on the music stand. Blue eyes that reminded Melody of the Atlantic Ocean on a sunny day surveyed the orchestra. He pursed curvy lips framed by a strong-ridged jaw and gorgeously high cheekbones and gestured to Carly to give the tuning pitch.
Melody was glad the woodwinds sat in the back so he wouldn’t hear her audible gasp. “Who the hell is that?” She thought she knew everything happening with the orchestra.
Carly nodded to him and switched on her tuner, clipping a small mic to the bell of her oboe. She spoke out of the corner of her mouth. “They just introduced him on the website this morning. Their latest surprise: Wolfgang Braun, the guest conductor from Berlin.”
Melody stared in disbelief, thinking Chris Helmsworth’s Thor must have had a better-looking, long-lost cousin in Germany. Since when did conductors lift weights? She’d never have to force herself to look up for cues again.
Review“Dionne’s passion for music resonates through this lovely story. Brava.”--Nikki Logan, author of How to Get Over Your Ex
About the AuthorAubrie grew up watching the originalStar Wars movies over and over until she could recite and reenact every single scene in her backyard. She also loved The Goonies, Star Trek the Next Generation--favorite character was Data by far--and Indiana Jones. But, her all time favorite movie was The Last Unicorn. She still wonders why the unicorn decided to change back to a unicorn in the end.
Aubrie wrote in her junior high yearbook that she wanted to be "a concert flutist" when she grew up. She majored in flute performance at the University of New Hampshire on a full scholarship, then secured two teaching jobs at a University and a local community music school. While playing in orchestras and teaching, stories popped into her head, and she used them to make the music come alive for her flute students. Her students said they were so good, she had to write them down! Maybe they were right, who knows? Two careers seems to keep her busy. For now.
She is represented by Dawn Dowdle and writes sweet and adventurous fantasy, science fiction, and contemporary romance.

I Interviewed Inger Wolf about her new book Evil Water

Blurb:Two women disappear without a trace, and the same autumn a farmer on the outskirts of Århus finds them murdered in suitcases under a heap of stone. The skin of one woman is filled with the letter Y and the other has a rare flower in her hair. Inspector Daniel Trokic is leading the case which goes in several directions: to a tribal population in Africa, religious insanity and a horrifying meeting with leeches. When a third woman disappears, Trokic is under pressure to find out what the killer wants to say with his macabre scenery and rituals.

Info about the author:Danish crime writer Inger Wolf has spent most of her life in the city of Århus in Denmark close to the forests and the sea. This beautiful place has been the fictitious setting for several murder cases in her novels. Inger started writing when she was around ten years old. When she was 15, she wrote her first book - a novel about a rock band. The book was never published, and more unsuccessful attempts followed before she finally had her first novel Sidespring (On the Side) - a book about divorce and motherhood - published in 2000 by Rosinante. In the meantime she studied English at a business school, and supported herself as a freelance translator.

Long walks in the forests around Århus became the inspiration for her first crime novel Sort Sensommer (Black Indian Summer) which was published by Modtryk in 2006. Sort Sensommer won the 2006 Danish Crime Academy Award as 'Most Exciting Crime Novel Debut', and the rights for the book were sold to Norway, Holland, Germany, Sweden, France and Spain. Since then four more books about chief inspector Daniel Trokic and his team have been published in Denmark - Frost og Aske (Frost and Ashes) in 2008, Sangfuglen (Song Bird) in 2009, Hvepsereden (Wasp's Nest) in 2011 and Ondt Vand (Evil Water) in 2012.

Evil Water (2012) is her first book translated into English, and more will follow. To Inger this is a new opportunity to reach and get to know a new audience.

In 2011 she decided to quit traditional publishing in order to get more control over her career. She founded her own publishing house, Black Cat Edition, which is now publishing all ebooks and future paper books.

Today, Inger lives with her Dutch boyfriend Toine and her 17 year-old daughter Cecilie in a town house in southern Spain. The household also include two cats and two dogs.

Excerpt:Farmer Jørgen Viuff rolled up his sleeves, put a bent, arthritic arm in the air over the dinner table and smiled forcedly.    ’Does this look like an arm that would be able to kill anybody, Inspector?’    Daniel Trokic threw a skeptical glance at the arm with the swollen veins, thick, stiff hairs and brown spots. Then his gaze moved on through a small window. Despite the faint reflection from the light in the living room, he could see another bright light from projectors in a tent around a crime scene. A small group of people worked around two suitcases on the farmer’s field. Soon he would be going back to join them. An officer from the reporting unit had followed Trokic to the house and was now waiting outside. A simple safety measure.    ’For the time being, you’re not on top of my non-existent list of suspects,’ Trokic admitted ’but since two women turned up dead on your land tonight, I have to ask some questions, you know.’    Jørgen was probably close to eighty. Sinewy, furrowed and worn out. He seemed like someone used to hard work, but he would hardly be able to handle a grown woman. Or two of them. A pair of brown trousers and a gray untidy shirt hung on him; nails and hair were unkempt, and a wound on his partly bald head suggested that he had fallen or hit his head against something recently. A bit shabby, as Trokic’s girlfriend, Christiane, might have put it, and he felt uncomfortable intruding on their privacy.    A strong heat radiated from the wood burner in the corner, making Trokic sweaty under his black leather jacket. The place smelled of smoke, cabbage and stable. Through a chink to the kitchen, he could see the barrel-shaped wife doing the dishes in an upset pace. A new plop sounded for every item hitting the water. He had no doubt that she was listening.

Interview Questions:
1.       Where did the idea come from for the book? I wanted to write a story where the reader was drawn into this monstrous serial killer's universe and got an explanation for his reasons to kill these young women. The psychological aspects interest me. At the same time, I wanted to use several locations and the settings of Århus in Denmark to create an interesting atmosphere. Finally, the killer's method of killing his victims with blood leeches was actually something my daughter came up with.2.       What genre does your book fall under? I would call it a psychological thriller. It's  a bit more high paced than the average detective crime novel.3.       Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? That's a hard one. I think the British actor, Jason Statham would make a good Daniel Trokic. He's got this tough don't-mess-with-me look. And he's attractive too.4.       What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? It's a detective team's high-paced hunt for a serial killer which uses blood leeches to kill his victims, set in Århus, Denmark.5.       Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? It's self-published with my 'publishing house' Black Cat Edition which is  now located in Spain. I left one of the biggest publishers in Denmark 2 years ago and never looked back.6.       How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? Approximately 4 months.7.       What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? I think this book is a lot like those of Karen Slaughter, Patricia Cornwell, Thomas Harrison and Jo Nesbø. It's rather gruesome, lots of detailed forensic work, psychopaths and a complicated plot.8.       Who or What inspired you to write this book? It's my interest in psychopaths and the dark side of human nature that keeps inspiring me, also in this case. I want to know why and how somebody can commit such evil crimes. So I usually read a lot of non-fiction about serial killers and watch documentaries. Very often it helps me come up with ideas.9.        What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest? I will give the word to a reviewer who said "I don't think I've ever read a book that has made me so on edge before", and add that this book will creep you out – and don't read it in the bathtub.

Introducing Jason McGlynn 'Divine Towels' My review

I had the privilege to meet Jason on Face book and we started to talk about his book. As a result of those talks I offered to host him on my blog.Learn more about this remarkable man, his journey and my thoughts about his book.
Title: Divine Towels
Author: Beau Jason McGlynn
Genre: Inspirational, Christian

Blurb

Reading the Gospels and the Acts of the Apostles is electrifying for they remind people what God can do when people trust Jesus completely. The word YES is a simple three-letter word, but it can unleash power and change the dynamics of the world. Divine Towels shows that when we trust God entirely, the seed of faith will germinate and extraordinary wonders beyond anything imaginable are possible.Divine Towels is ultimately the answer to Beau’s prayer. Beau grew up and did everything that society said would make him a happy man. He went to college, earned his MBA, and took a job in corporate America.Beau should be living the life, but he is miserable. He has always wanted to serve others and perform merciful acts. Sitting behind a computer eight hours a day is not for him, and he is frustrated! One day, Beau has had enough and tells the Lord exactly how he feels. Much to his surprise, he hears, “My son, I call you to be a towel boy.” Beau knows God speaks to people and reveals His plan in these revelations. Never having experienced anything like this before, Beau wonders if he is hallucinating. The idea of being a towel boy seems absurd; nevertheless, he plans to find about what this riddle means. Eventually, because Beau cannot figure it out, he asks the Lord for clarification.Jesus soon explains He wants Beau and his mother, Jessica, to carry out a very special mission for Him: open a nonprofit store called Divine Towels and spend their days washing people’s feet. At Divine Towels, people who have faith are healed of their ailments, become empowered by the Holy Spirit to perform mighty works, and often walk away feeling an overwhelming peace. Not only do “the healed” think differently, but they also have the uncanny ability to find unique solutions to complex problems. Every facet of their lives is transformed! Nothing bothers them and they are always ready to take on a new challenge.Everything goes smoothly until the doctors as well as the hospitals in the area realize that Divine Towels has all but ruined their businesses and livelihoods. Because of Divine Towels, they are not earning enough money to live life the way they have become accustomed. They have to do something. Initially, a group of doctors try to reason with Beau and Jessica, imploring them to stop. They even try unsuccessfully to buy them off. Ultimately, they devise and execute a plan to obliterate Divine Towels. Just as the Pharisees’ plan to crucify Jesus backfired, doctors’ plan ends up having an unintended consequence. When people find out the doctors tried to obliterate Divine Towels, they devise their own plan not only to rebuild Divine Towels but also to start franchises throughout the nation.

About the Author

Jason McGlynn has lived in the Atlantic City area and has worked for the FAA as a Technical
Publications Editor for ten years. He attended Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia where he earned a B.S. degree and a MBA in management information systems. While Jason is quite successful, his life got off to a rocky start. When Jason was born in the coal fields of West Virginia, the doctors diagnosed Jason with cerebral palsy and told his mother to forget about him because he would be profoundly retarded, basically a vegetable.Jason has been determined not to allow his struggles to stop him from living a full and productive life. Living with cerebral palsy is hard enough, but it is even more difficult when you do not have an earthly support system behind you. With the exception of his dear mother, he has always felt like a leper. Often people ask Jason how he has managed to overcome the many adversities of his life and why he has such a positive outlook. Jason attributes his success to the three things in his life:His God, who is not only at his side every step of the way, but who also gives him the determination and will needed to face whatever obstacle comes his way. The Bible verse, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” has always sustained him and given him the strength to do whatever he needs to do. His mother, who is his best friend and role model. She has been there for him in every way imaginable. Not only has she dedicated her life to ensuring that he has had every opportunity possible, but she has also inspired him to write Divine Towels. His writing, which is Jason’s greatest passion. Jason definitely does have cerebral palsy and a speech impediment to go with it. However, when Jason becomes quiet and asks the Holy Spirit to fill his heart, his speech is no longer an issue. For the Holy Spirit blesses him with an incredible gift and tells Jason word for word what to write. The words the Holy Spirit gives him are inspired; they are intended for a troubled world that desperately needs to hear them.

My/Our 5 Star Review
I felt my husband, that read the book with me captured the book's essences very well and therefore with his permission placed it here, instead of mine.
When asked to review this book the first thought comes to mind another Christian book. But as I read the introduction I was challenge to read further, it seems that the writer also experience the same things from Christian books, that it is just a story and does not challenge ones own love for the Lord as you read.In the preface we already get confronted with a lot of issues as is in life and who we trust as we go through it. The following story evolves over a 12 year period. We meet up with Ethan who after he received a dream are not satisfied in his job because there is a void. He knows there is a calling on his life from God, so he feels he are missing something, he is unfulfilled.  So when he received an instructing from God the wheels start to turn and he is forced to walk in faith not just talk faith. When he told his mother what he needs to do she became quiet. We are taken back with Ethan when he experienced something before he was in the womb he was not sure if it was real or not when he had a visitation from God to determine the outcome of his life. After all this back to the now we are taken on a journey and what transpired with Ethan and Claire, his mother how they start to walk the path obeying Christ with great difficulty in their lives. Ethan resigned and started to pursue the calling he had. We are drawn into the road Ethan and Claire walk to establish the business they felt God called them to do. A lot of things transpired in preparation that needs to be read to be fully understood.
The way God open doors where there seems to be none as Ethan and Claire just obey and surrender themselves to the Holy Spirit. As Ethan obeys things start to fall in place and in the most unlikely places help comes forth. Jim and Bill also became part of this plan as it start to unfold each one with their own story and hurt but as always God is in control and preparation of the store started by divine inspiration. Even Jim and Bill’s lives start to change since their involvement with Ethan and Claire. A real powerful story unfolds as lives started to change with this new business as they obey God. They were faced with many a challenge but it was overcome when they became quiet before the Lord seeking answers and direction. As they go on with the task at hand some obstacles were presented they needed to face with a new understanding of God’s Grace.
They met Gail, a woman from their past. From here the story developed quickly, moving fast. Bill received instruction to open a foot wash institute so the work of healing can spread further in the community, more people get added to the ministry of healing.A greater need was identify during the course of the story and as Claire prayed and asked for guidance she was told to open a Soul Station, a place to become still and find rest from a busy schedule to receive input and direction from God. She was faced with many challenges before this could happen, as you read on and drawn into the struggles all is revealed. We learn how the Spirit of God directed different people to become part of the ministry and lead some in this new assignment.
Through all the challenges the people that were directed by the Spirit start to work as an unity to become the hands and feet of Christ. This devotion to the positive influence that the community of Copper Town experienced spread like a Fire and a vast group of people lives were changed and their commitment to Christ was renewed with more fever and direction.
A small congregation’s obedience to listen what was revealed and meeting with Ethan and Claire brought them to a new facet in ministering. They need to witness what happened to them to other larger congregations which was a challenge once again.
The second part is even more profound. Things we did not anticipated because we were so focused on the progress of Divine Towels, followed by the Foot washing institute and the Soul Station that we never paid attention to the impact it made on the people upholding the medical profession. They were caught up in their own world that they could not allow Christ to mess their world through Ethan and Claire and the team of Divine Towels.
They threaten them to close the shop even after a great healing took place in their midst. The rest I will leave for the reader to experience themselves. A must read for those who are in search for a better understanding of God's grace and His work.
Jason brought forth a very well written and an overwhelming inspirational story that seems to people without spiritual eyes or understanding as a fairy tale or a book for children. The characters were believable and strong, touching your heart.
I really enjoyed this thought provoking and inspiring story from the first to last page.
Thanks for being obedient Jason to the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
