Born with the mark of the devil, Merrin has been hidden on the islet of Eilean Fladda for near twenty years. When the body of a Highlander washes ashore, the innocent lass presumes him dead. Brushing the hair from the rugged warrior’s face, her fingers connect with warm flesh. Warm.
Ian MacLeod wakes to a woman so radiant, he believes her an angel. But when the lass recoils from him, he fears she knows of his evil deeds. While he heals, Ian is stunned when he exposes her witch’s mark, yet he’s spellbound by Merrin’s allure. He’d do anything to erase his haunting past and earn her love.
But there’s a henchman after Ian’s head, and when that man learns the Highlander is still alive, the couple is forced to flee Merrin’s sheltered world. Fighting for survival, destiny demands they each face their demons, but doing so may forever ruin them both.
Sprinting onto a thin strip of beach, Ian raced for the shore. Rain pelted his face as he skidded to a stop. Gasping for air, he sucked in deep breaths and peered through the dark night—north, then south. Thank God. A lone skiff sat askew, poorly camouflaged at the tree-line edge.
His side cramping from his frantic escape, he darted to the tiny boat with a pained hitch to his step. The deerhounds’ barks grew closer. If he hesitated, they’d be upon him in a blink of an eye.
Ian’s heart hammered his chest as he bore down on the skiff and shoved it into the angry swells. He jumped over the bow and snatched an oar. With every muscle, every sinew, he paddled against the surf and ignored his fatigue. A single oar made the boat fishtail, but there was no time to set them in their locks. Ian gritted his teeth and slammed the oar into the white swells in a hurried rhythm, side to side.
Over the roar of the surf and the driving rain, dogs yelped in an excited frenzy. Men shouted. Ian didn’t turn around—he needed more distance. As sure as he breathed, they were ramming lead balls down their muskets. With luck, the rain had soaked their slow matches, rendering the guns useless.
Ian sped his determined paddling and squinted through the pelting rain—across to his home, the Isle of Raasay. He hadn’t set foot there since he was four and ten, but the sight of the island enlivened him. He could barely make out the black outline of Dùn Caan, the flat-topped peak that forever identified the isle as Clan MacLeod land.
A sharp jab struck him from behind. Ian’s body propelled forward. His nose slammed into the wooden hull. An ear-shattering musket clap followed, piercing through the wind. Something stung, burned his back. Ian slid his hand over the screaming pain. Hot blood oozed through his fingers.
More claps blasted from the beach, thudding into the tiny skiff. Ian rolled to his side. Icy water spurted over him. Frantically, he worked to hug both wooden oars against his chest. A thousand knives attacked his skin as salt water swallowed his lifeline to Raasay. The last thing he saw was the looming outline of Dùn Caan.
Blackness engulfed him.

Excerpt
Breathing through my nose, I tried to inhale deeply and let the air out slowly. It just made my chest hurt. I gripped Raine tighter and tucked my head into her shoulder. Soft fingers caressed the back of my neck. “Bastian?” I couldn’t answer. “What’s wrong, baby?” “Nothing,” I croaked. The word was utterly ridiculous. Raine moved her fingers down to my chin and pushed my face to look at her. I did so reluctantly, and as soon as I met her eyes with mine, some of the tension faded, and I could breathe right again. “Nightmare?” I nodded. “Can you tell me about it?” I shook my head, and Raine nodded in response. She moved one of her arms around my shoulder and the other around my head. She held me against her chest as I tried to regain some semblance of sanity. Raine knew me so well, it frightened me. Whereas she used to press for more answers, she was now quick with yes-or-no questions I could answer without speaking, and she knew when to give me a little mental space. Eventually I’d tell her what the dream was about, and she knew that. Still, even when I heard her reasons, sometimes it didn’t make the feeling of inadequacy go away. Maybe it was all from the lack of affection during my fucked up childhood, like Raine thought, or maybe it was because the one man who did offer me any kind of parental connection was also the man who taught me how to be a killer—a damn good one. Maybe it was because I missed being a killer. “I can’t do this,” I whispered to Raine as my throat and mouth went dry. “I want a drink so fucking bad.” “I know, baby,” she replied, “but you’re stronger than that.” I closed my eyes a moment and shook my head vigorously. “Only on the outside.” I met her eyes again. “You have more strength inside than I do.” She moved her fingers into my hair and brushed it away from my sweaty forehead. “You have more than you know,” she said. “You work at it every day, and every day you get stronger on the inside too.” Everything in my head wanted to deny it. I didn’t feel strong. I just felt like drinking or fucking. “I wanna fuck you,” I said. I saw the little twinge in her eye at the phrase but couldn’t bring myself to regret it. “Always so crass,” she muttered. I fought with my head for a way to explain. “When I’m inside you, everything changes,” I told her. “It’s not about getting my dick wet; it’s about being so close to you that I can feel your strength in me. When I feel your arms on my back, and you hold me against you, that’s when I feel strong.”About the Author

Character Name: Grace MacKenna
Character Bio: I’m 16, but folks say I act 40. Whatever. I grew up in Massachusetts. Lost my family (mother, step-dad and sister) at age 13, and had to move in with my Aunt Tish, my mother’s sister, in Boston. That began three years of misery. Finally, at age 16, I saw my window of escape and moved to West Virginia, into a secluded mountainous (and purportedly haunted) estate (aka Crossings), that I inherited from my step-father. Turns out, I didn’t know as much about him as I thought I did. It’s at Crossings that I learn about my ability to communicate with ghosts.
Here I am, leaving Boston. But you could see me in action in the book trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RKylDUi0sc (But, be sure to crank up your speakers!)
Describe yourself what is your worst and vest quality?
Worst: I guess patience, as in I have very little of it, particularly for other people my age. When you lose your entire family at age 13, it kicks your survival instinct into overdrive and makes you grow up quickly.
Best: Organization. I’m sure a psychiatrist would say it stems from the loss of family, too. I feel a need to control my environment and to be prepared for everything that can throw it off track again. But despite my best planning, I sure wasn’t ready to encounter ghosts and demons in my house.
What is the one thing you wish other people knew about you?
I hate lying. Yeah, I know – I do a significant amount of it, but it’s only because I can’t let people in the local town realize I’m living in this otherwise-abandoned estate by myself as a 16-year-old. So, I fabricate this tale that my aunt will arrive soon. This way, I can be free to stay there and communicate with the ghost that dwells within.
What is your biggest secret something no one knows about?
Sorry, my author, D.L. Koontz is stifling me on this one. She said my answer would be a spoiler for the other books in the series.
What are you most afraid of?
Being alone. And that’s ironic because everything I do seems driven by a need to keep people at a distance.
What is your relationship status?
Again, stifled by my author. But, I can tell you that I’ve met two incredible guys: Clay and Seth. At first, Clay takes my breath away...but then Seth changes, and grows on me...and...okay, author is pestering me again so let’s just say I end up in a love quadrangle (two living guys and one dead..yes, all at the same time).
What do you want more than anything?
In Book I? To make peace with my family’s death so that I can move on with my life. I mean, why was I the only one left behind? In Book II? To help my cousin Michael because a demon begins to possess his body. Oh, and there’s also an issue with Clay’s father....but perhaps I shouldn’t discuss that. It’s spoiler stuff, too.
How would you describe your sense of fashion?
Practical and comfortable. Well, that is, until I meet and learn how to communicate with a ghost (William Kavanaugh) from the Civil War era in my house. Then, well, I don’t know...Will touches me and something changes. I suddenly find myself wearing sundresses and more feminine clothing.
How much of a rebel are you?
I never thought of myself as a rebel, but as my new friends and acquaintances in Williamsport point out: I escaped a volatile aunt, moved into a haunted estate, determined that I’d rather face demons than go back to Boston, and set about resolving a murder that is a century and a half old. So, okay, I guess I am a little rebellious.
What do you considered to be your greatest achievement?
Communicating with a ghost. Don’t get me wrong – at first, it freaked me out! Then it became surreal, then almost “normal,” and at times, even comical. When you’re the only one in the room that can see the ghost, well, it’s hard to hold a conversation when both a living and dead person are talking to you at the same time!
What is your current state of mind?
After book I? Confused. Clay had to leave town for reasons which you’ll read in the book, and then William left, and then I discovered something even more frightening that remained in my house...but I can’t say what or it will be another spoiler. Suffice it to say that I have a host of frightening things I must tackle before being free to live my life.
What is your most treasured possession?
My pets (dog Tramp and cat Chubbs) are most important to me, but I’d not classify them as a possession since I adopted them and they are their own living beings. So, second answer would be a gold coin. My grandmother died, then came back to life long enough to pull it from a chain around her neck and give it to me. Turns out, it was minted before the Civil War, journeyed through the Underground Railroad, and even served as the “center” for the soul (ghost) that I encounter. It even proved pivotal in protecting me when Clay and Will and I encounter a demonic “soul” in the backwoods of southern Georgia. She had committed suicide on the railroad tracks back in the 1800s. And, she almost killed me...
What is your most marked characteristic?
Stubbornness, I guess. I lived with a ghost not knowing whether he was a demon or not. I thought that if I resolved his murder, he would help me contact my dead family. You’ll have to read the book to find out what happened. Anyway, it takes quite a bit of stubbornness to stay in a situation like that!
What is it that you, most dislike?
Ironically, fear. It arrived the day I became an orphan. I say ironically because everything I do seems to put me into fearful situations!
Which living person do you, most despise?
Holland Greer. He’s a local historian and busy body. He keeps sneaking onto my property and takes an unusual interest in my life there. I kinda’ wish that Will (the ghost in my estate) would pick him up and toss him over the two-story balcony like he did with the two greasy guys that invaded my home a couple nights after I moved in.
What is your greatest regret?
Not going with my family to my sister’s soccer game on the morning they died. If I’d gone along, I might have delayed the departure time such that they wouldn’t have been at that spot when that mysterious car accident occurred...
What is the quality you most like in a man?
I don’t know. Before meeting Clay I would have said someone who is just like me in temperament, outlook, dreams. But Clay is night to my day, truck to my Volvo, grease to my silk, and yet he is...well let’s just say he’s a thumbs up.
What is the quality you most like in a woman?
The perfect mix of strength and femininity. Clay’s mom Cassie, is feminine, yet physically strong and runs her own business (a café which I frequent).
Who is your favorite hero in fiction?
I loved Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series. She was smart and beautiful and faced danger straight-on. I also loved Gus in Lonesome Dove. He had a confidence and a self-assurance I wish I had, and I sure which I could develop his laissez-faire attitude about life!
Which living person do you most admire?
My best friend, Adriana. She is positive and focused. She’s the kind of person who would take a camera and yardstick to go fishing; so sure of a positive outcome. And she’s a major in flute performance, hoping to join the National Symphony Orchestra one day. I’m still trying to discover what my future holds and what my profession will be, although my experiences in Williamsport are helping me figure that out.
If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
That I find the answer to why I love a man that annoys me so much!
What is your motto?
Fear makes the wolf bigger than he is.

Interview with Ethan
What's your favorite ice cream?
Rocky road, but Sam’s is mint chocolate chip and lately I’ve been tossing a scoop of hers in with mine. They work well together.
What's your favorite thing about Sam?
I have to pick one thing? Probably her mind. She’s book smart, but she’s also sharp, and she thinks on her feet. You can’t get anything by her.
Or, maybe it would be better to say her personality. She’s funny, smart, brave, and tough as nails. And she’s mine.
She's also strong, and focused, and determined. When she sets her mind to something, she makes it happen. Somehow, I lucked out and this strong, powerful, smart woman submits to me. I'll never take that for granted.
What does Sam do that's most annoying?
*laughs* You can’t get anything by her. Not that I'd want to — honesty is important to me — but sometimes it'd be nice to surprise her.
What's your favorite thing Sam does in bed?
I love that she can take what I give her. No one else has ever satisfied my sadistic streak like Sam can. And she doesn't hold back her screams. I know she could if she wanted to, I've seen films of her fighting and taking some serious hits without showing any visible signs of pain.
She gives me everything, though. She's honest about her needs, honest about her feelings and emotions, even when it's not easy.
If there were something you could change about the first few weeks you knew Sam, what would it be?
I’d discover a way for us to find out we were both kinky sooner than we did. I was fascinated by her from the first I saw her, and when I had the chance to officially meet her a few days later, she very nicely turned me down flat.
What's your favorite movie?
You’re probably expecting me to name a fight movie, but I love the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I doubted anyone could do justice to the books, but the movies brought to life what I’d envisioned as I read them.
What addiction can you not live without?
Sam’s my only addiction. I had to spend a week in Atlanta during tax season, and ended up driving back to Chattanooga one night because I missed her so much. I had to drive right back to Atlanta the next morning, but it was worth it.
If you could be in a different book, which one would it be?
It would have to be an adventure book – The Lord of the Rings, or Around the World in 80 Days, or maybe Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon if they’d teach me how to run across rooftops.
If your life were a book, what would you prefer the author not tell readers about you?
I spend a lot of time trying to keep strangers from being afraid of me. I’m big and scary, apparently, and if a woman is alone in a parking lot I see her looking around for help if I get too close. So when I’m out, I try to make a wide berth around anyone who looks afraid of me. I’d really rather people not know about my sadistic side, because I’d never hurt anyone who didn’t want to be hurt.

The weight of her lover’s body pressed Attie into the mattress with a familiarity that both comforted and aroused her. His hands were buried in her hair, his mouth tracing a fiery path down the column of her throat. She turned her head to the side to allow him access to her earlobe and shivered when the tip of his tongue traced the moon-shaped scar behind her ear. No longer cold, she was on fire, threatening to spontaneously combust if he didn’t relieve this tension soon.
She curled her fingers around his bicep marveling at its thickness, her mind coming up with all sorts of ways she could put that muscle to use. Her hips arched and she felt his arousal press intimately back. How long had it been since she’d felt like this? Had she ever felt like this? Not in real life, only in her dreams. She couldn’t see his face, simply knew him, and wanted him.
Her hand smoothed its way over taut flesh, muscle and bone. He was smooth and hard, muscular and lean, his strength subtle yet overwhelming at the same time. He knew how to touch her to elicit the strongest response, knew where to caress to drive her to the brink, only to ease off and deny her what she so dearly wanted. He teased, he caressed, and he loved like no other until she spun into an alternate universe from her need for him.
“Please,” she pleaded to her phantom lover, her hands frantically exploring all of him. He was a fine specimen of a man, one she was proud to call her lover, for he was a master of seduction.
“Open your eyes, Attie. We have company.”

Book Blast & Giveaway: Restoring Lady Anna by Em Taylor

“Why did you leave?” he asked. “I...I... did not have a choice.” “Were you in love with him?” “No.” She should lie. She knew she should, but his light blue eyes seemed to bore holes into her very soul and she could not bear to hurt him further. She could not bear to have him think badly of her. “Then I do not understand why you left. Was it... was... God dammit.” He took a large gulp of his ale and looked around before leaning close. “Was it the bedding? I know you were an innocent and it must have hurt but...” “No.” She shook her head fervently. Could he really believe that the best night of her life had driven her from him? “That night... it was very special. You were wonderful and kind and caring. I could not have asked for a better lover the first time.” Relief washed over his countenance before he frowned. “Then why?” Should she tell him? Could she? “It is too complicated to explain, except to say that it was not my choice and it was not your fault.” He pushed his long fingers through his blond curls and stared into his ale. “Is he—the footman—still alive?” “Yes.” He looked into her eyes—the hope that had shone there moments before was gone. “So you are married.” “We never married.” “You live in sin?” “Yes. I refused to marry him—not even to give my daughter a name. I tell people I am Mrs Johnstone, but there are no legal documents and no marriage. Therefore, you can return to the ton, my lord, and tell them that Lady Anna Kingsley is a whore and has a bastard child.” Now perhaps he would leave her alone to her miserable life and find someone who would make a proper countess when his father died. She swallowed hard, forcing back the tears. Willed herself to stay strong. She only had to stay strong until the damned ostlers could help Lord Ramsey’s horse. “Shh! I will be returning to the ton to tell them no such thing. I wished you would tell me what actually happened, if for no other reason than to assuage my fear that it was something I did or said that drove you away. You said you have a daughter?” “Yes. Viola. She is a pretty little thing but can be quite precocious when she wants to be. She would have made a beautiful debutante when her time came.” “Mama. Who is this?” She turned to see Viola standing at her side and realised it had been the child who was tugging at her skirts. **** James stared at the little girl standing next to Anna, tugging on the grey wool skirt. Blond hair, blue eyes and rosy cheeks that reminded him of Rebecca when she was small. She even had the little turn up in her nose that was identical to his sister’s. But, it could not be. This child could not be his? They had made love but once—or at least just one night. But he had not withdrawn as he knew he should. He had been too caught up in the moment—in their love. Had Anna fallen with child that one glorious night, how old would a child be? Three? No—four! Was this little girl four? He had no idea how large or small a child should be at the age of four. He did not come into contact with many children. But he did not have to ask her age. His sight told him that Viola was his as did something else…instinct perhaps? He schooled his features so they were unreadable. Years of training to be a gentleman, to show no outward emotion, were now paying dividends. “This is Lord Eversley, a friend of mine.” “Oh. Pleased to meet you Lord Evasey.” She bobbed a small curtsey, and he noted that she over extended her back leg a bit like the actors did in the theatre at the curtain call. It was very sweet. The child obviously did not meet many members of the aristocracy. Though it was just like Anna to have taught her daughter to act like a lady in preparation for meeting a viscount or even a duke. “Very pleased to meet you too, Viola.” She smiled dazzlingly at him. It really was like being taken back in time to when Rebecca was a child. “Mama, he’s awake. I heard him shouting.” “I see.” She turned to James. “I need to go just now. I have things that must be attended to.” Anna stood and looked like she was about to bob a curtsey but seemed to the think better of it, probably remembering he was supposed to be a footman. He watched her leave, Viola’s hand in hers. He had sired a daughter and all this time he never knew. He did not need Anna to tell him that Viola was his flesh and blood—he knew it with every fibre of his being. If he said it outright, would Anna lie? Could she lie about something as monumental as him having a child? Not the Anna he once knew. But she was harder now—more resilient. He saw it in her eyes. Even though he had sensed she had been on the edge of tears, he suspected Mrs Anna Johnstone did not cry very often. But he must allow Anna to tell him in her own time. There was a lot more to this than a silly lady having her head turned by a handsome footman. Was the person who had just woken the footman? Why had Viola looked unhappy when she had to announce the footman was awake? And why was Anna the one working in the taproom? He would find out, and he would not leave this place until he knew the whole truth and certainly he would not leave without his daughter.

An oppressed werewolf princess…
In a world where the werewolf species is rapidly declining, breeding the strongest of the purebred bloodlines is of the utmost importance. But when Victoria Bonvalet is ordered by her alpha father to partake in this breeding program, she rebels by fleeing her home and the protection of the pack.
Though she has never fallen in love, Victoria refuses to mate with someone she doesn’t even know and commit her lifecycle to someone with defective genes, which could ultimately be passed down to her own children. Though she expects to be found eventually, she plans to hide and run until that happens. What she never expects is the attraction she would feel for a one thousand year old vampire lord with a thirst for adventure.
A vampire with nothing to lose…
Tristan Garland has traveled the world, fought in wars, and encountered many enemies over the years he has existed as a vampire, but even his experience as an undead could not have prepared him for the deep magnetism that lures him to his newest neighbor. Though she’s a werewolf, and by law his enemy, Tristan finds in Victoria the desire to continue existing in a world he’s come to loath over the years.
Enemies in the eyes of their own kind but hopelessly in love, Victoria and Tristan must find a way to be together without causing a war between bitter adversaries. But will their refusal to part ways provoke their kinds into a conflict unlike any they had seen before?

As a child, she used to lose herself in an imaginary world by the means of a good book. Now that she’s all grown up, Kristy gets to create her own fictional realms and make them come to life in ways that most readers might not expect.

After trying out numerous options, she realized that writing was what she loved the most so when she found herself with some free time on her hands, she decided to pursue her passion. As it turned out, her very active imagination helped her achieve her goals of creating believable plots with some ordinary, and some not so ordinary characters that helped the stories move along in one way or another.
As she keeps moving along in achieving her dreams of becoming a published author, she divides her time in between her five children and her very understanding husband.

When Lana Martin is kidnapped and thrown into a world of darkness, she is forced to do many things she otherwise would have never considered, the most horrible of all being to take a deep long look at herself. What she sees scares the hell out of her, and those around her. Sex for her is quickly transformed from the mundane to a dangerous way of life.
Something dark is awakened inside of her, an unknown desire, an insatiable hunger for a master to use her for his pleasure. Her need for submission takes her down a winding path of pain and pleasure, as she comes to grips with her carnal lust, and her need to have it satisfied. Her captor awoke a sexual beast he hadn’t expected, and no one is prepared for Lana Martin.
WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, abduction, sexual content, anal play, breath play, spanking, dubious consent, bondage, minor bdsm, strong language, and graphic violence.

There was no need for him to explain; they both knew perfectly well what he meant, just as they both knew perfectly well she had indeed done it on purpose. But still, the game had to be played out.
“I’m sure I don’t know what you mean, Sir.”
“Of course. When you have cleared the table, bring it to me.”
She wasted little time finishing her dinner and clearing the table. The dishes rinsed and put in the dishwasher to be completed, she went o the bedroom and retrieved the thing he wanted. Or perhaps more correctly, the thing she wanted.
It was called The Merciful One, a wooden paddle small enough to be used by one hand, light and thin. Smaller than one which might be found in a principal’s office, but more sturdy than those which came with a string and ball attached. She had made it for him, at his request, and from her own experience, she knew it was perfect. It stung like a son of a bitch when applied properly, but at the same time, it wasn’t heavy enough to not cause an actual injury.
“Thank you, Sir,” she said as she placed it in his waiting hand. Lana then pulled the only other chair from under the table and placed it in the center of the room. This one he had crafted for their special sessions. Once a hard backed dining chair, he had removed most of the back. Now, above the chair’s seat, only the two supporting posts remained, along with the very top plank of what had once been the back support. Sitting in the chair, the remaining support would touch her just below her shoulders, but she never sat in the chair. It was designed specifically for two positions. One was the main reason for the chair’s modifications. If she lay on the chair, with her head and shoulders between the supports, it was the perfect size to allow her knees to be pulled up over her head and tied to the top, leaving her in the most intimately vulnerable position. The second use for the chair was what it was to be used for this night.
Lana lay sideways across the chair’s seat, resting her stomach on the soft padding, her arms and legs dangling from either side. She waited as patiently as she could, but with some difficulty. He would take his time because he knew she wanted this. He would tease her before he began. It was more torturous than anything he would do with the paddle itself. The thought of asking him to hurry never entered her mind. The wait was hell, but what a delightful hell it was. Her dark prince knew her sins and exactly how to celebrate them, incorporating her punishment into her heavenly reward.
His hand on the small of her back told her he was ready, gently holding her in place with the warmth of a deep embrace. His free hand slid behind her, his fingers protruding past the paddle’s handle, gliding lightly across her skin. The first swat stung deep, sending rapid shockwaves through her body, and causing her skin to tingle ecstatically beneath the paddle. Her legs began to tremble immediately as she allowed her head to hang motionless beneath her.
“Thank you,” she managed, trying to make the strain in her voice sound, at the least, like it originated a bit more from pain than pleasure. But was often a trick harder than she could manage. All he had to do was let one finger slip, and touch her there, and he would know damn well how much she liked it.
A second swat came harder than the first, sending an echoing ‘smack!’ bouncing off the walls before returning to her welcoming ears. Even the sound of the paddle as it quickly reddened her ass caused a barely controllable urge to beg for more. A third swat, then a fourth and fifth came in rapid succession, stealing any delusions of control from Lana’s body, her mouth. She moaned loudly as Sergio applied the wood again and again, any semblance of displeasure lost to her completely. When she felt the handle of the paddle placed into his left hand on the small of her back, she could not hold back the whimper.
“Yes,” she said, knowing he would now know her desire, her appreciation. His finger slid effortlessly inside her aching opening, the sopping sound it made only heightening her desire, her need. A second finger found no further resistance than the first, as he quickened the pace, plowing his fingers inside her again and again. It was only when a third finger was added, that the pace slowed, her pussy tightened around him hungrily.
His left hand left her back and found her hair, pulling her head backward towards him, holding her in place as his hand plunged deeper into her. When his thumb extended and pressed against the darker opening between her legs, she thought she might lose consciousness. But he didn’t push it inside, merely applying pressure, teasing her with the thought of being penetrated in both openings at once. He knew she loved it; she had made it no secret, and while she would never ask him for it, she did everything she could to let him know she wanted it every time. The absolute lack of control, the purest form of submission in her eyes, she readily made no complaints when her asshole was violated. She craved it as much as anything else.
