I received the book from the touring host for an honest Review.

Two people fell in love and shared a night of passion in their youth, right after that everything changed.
Five years had passed where each had to do the best they could in their present lives, but when they suddenly meet again, the old feelings resurfaced with much heated attraction.
Lady Anna, the daughter of a duke, had to learn quickly how to cope in her new situation, becoming a strong woman with to much responsibility on her sma
For me, the point about historical romance is that it's a formula, or at least, there are "rules" about what is and isn't permissible within the genre. So, while top-flight writers like Courtney Milan or Megan Bryce can flirt with pushing the boundaries a bit, nevertheless there's always a sense of what would be historically acceptable. The problem with this book for me is that Em Taylor doesn't seem to get that.

To start with, the plot (view spoiler)

Okay so this one is of second chances at love and gaining maturity and perception with time and age story. The H is on the run as he is suspected for the murder of another lord of the realm and those who have read the first book of the series would know the reason and the background. There is no compulsion to read in order as apart from the begining ,there is no mention of other story line to confuse the readers. He meets the h at an inn she runs and all the anger ,pain ,desire ,frustation ,agony ...more

I found this book really hard to read, the subject matter was disturbing at times, yet I couldn't put it down!
Lady Anna was kidnapped five years ago by a footman with some serious mental health issues. She ends up staying at his familys inn out of fear for herself and the child she soon discovers shes carrying.
Some five years later, Lord James Eversley has to flee London disguised as his friends footman as a case of mistaken identity has him under suspicion of murder. Chance has them stopping at

Interesting story . . . not sure how plausible the ending was, but it's fiction.

Passionate and Compelling Regency

This Regency romance by Em Taylor examines some heavy issues – kidnap, mental health and social mores – in particular the expectations imposed on women by the Ton. However, at the centre of the tale is the romance between Anna and James. Fate has now reunited them but their current circumstances could not be more different and there are moral as well as social dilemmas to overcome if they are to secure their HEA.

Both the hero and the heroine of this novel are wel

Lady Anna, the daughter of a duke is kidnapped 5 years ago in the middle of the night. Her love Lord James Eversley thinks she just up and ran off with a footman, and he thinks it's b/c he was a bad lover. Since she was kidnapped, Anna has had to put up with raising her (and James's) daughter and running an inn, and also with her kidnappers (and husband so she tells people) taking her every night. Nothing excuses his behavior, but it turns out a fall made

Lord Eversley has never forgotten Lady Anna. He stole her innocence and she stole his heart. While he was away on business she disappeared never to be seen again. With no explanation and a broken heart even five years later he has no closure, no want for another woman.

Lady Anna was taken. No one knows. No one searched. They all believe she ran off with her footman, madly in love. If only that were the truth. Instead she lives as a married woman to a man/child and treads carefully every hour of t

I enjoyed the 2nd book of the series as much as the first. This one was about James and his love for Lady Anna. After not seeing her for many years, James is shocked to find Anna living without the riches she has been accustomed to and discovers that he is still very much in love with her. As the title suggests, he sets about restoring Anna to the Lady she once was.

This author has done another fantastic job in writing about the Regency England timeframe. The flow of the story line is a well written and without a flaw in my opinion. This can be standalone because it has its own story, but you also see returning characters from her previous novel and insight on what happened there. The characters we see again from the first along with some new ones introduced had me so involved in this story that I read it from the beginning to the end without wanting to put ...more

I didn't quite buy the story line. It made no sense that Anna did not try to get out of her deplorable situation. It made her a weak character, possibly if the author had played up the villain's threats to kill her beloved and had added her father, whom she seemed to love, into the mix, it would have been a bit more believable. This is why I can't give the story a better rating.

Nonetheless, EM Taylor's characters are fully developed, and even though I found Anna weak, I still ended up liking her
"Restoring Lady Anna" is the reunion story of Lady Anna and Lord James after five years apart. Anna's life has been a living hell but she did what she believed she had to in order to survive and have even a little bit of peace for her and her daughter. Although some decisions Anna made bothered me (as they probably would anyone) she believed they were her only options, to save the man she truly loved. What did upset me a bit about Anna was her loyalty to Peter after James' return. James was livi ...more

WOW! Another 5+ stars for Ms Taylor.

I read Restoring Lady Anna in a few hours. I loved every second of it.

The story behind Anna's disappearance was never truly known but the people of the Ton sure made up what stories they thought true. Anna is a very strong woman who always believed her knight in shinning armor would show up to rescue her, she had to in order to get through what life had thrown at her. Until the day he really did show up, she thought it would always be a dream. Anna except he

First, I want to say that I was really looking forward to this book. Saved by the Rake was a phenomenal historical and this one was just as good. I loved James in book 1 and knew when he showed up in the first book that there was a story there between Anna and James and I couldn't wait to read it. I really admire Anna's character and think she was written amazingly. The characters in this one really had me head over heels in love with them. The writing was great, the flow of the story was great, ...more

I enjoyed the first book 'Saved by A Rake' and I knew I would want to read the next book to see how everything with James would work out. I loved his character in book 1, and when I read this I just fell more in love with him. At times I didn't really like Anna, she reminded me of a *itch! But as she softened around the edges and relaxed and actually got comfortable with everything I liked her quite a lot.

Overall it was great book. I loved all the characters and it was great continuation of this

Beautiful Regency 4.5 stars
Regency romance lovers, will like Restoring Lady Anna written by EM Taylor. I liked her main characters Lord James Eversley and Lady Anna! It's a short romance of James, who never stopped loving Anna and now must learn what happened that fateful night that Anna left him heartbroken. It's a complex story very well written , filled with strong emotions nicely blended with rich characters. Perfect Regency romance for me!

Wonderful historical romance! It was nice not to have the hero be a rake like many of the historical romances tend to do. The chemistry between Anna and James is explosive and the sex scenes are full of passion. This is a new to me author, but I look forward to reading the other books in this series.

I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I did feel I missed out not having read book 1. But I got over it and moved on.

This has everything in, romance, intrigue, murder, you name it, its in there!

I found it a fast riveting read. I'm not much into historical novels, not read them for a long time, but based on this one, I wonder why! I might begin looking at the again.

Not the usual type of Regency romance I normally read, but I do read everything Em Taylor writes. I agree with others as to why Lady Anna didn't try to escape. Anyhow, I did like this story and was a pleasure to read. It did make a change from the norm, but I still like my ballrooms and highlanders!

Nice one ;-)

Lord Eversley is a pretty amazing guy.
Anna is a resilient lady.
Doesnt mean that I loved them all the time; in fact, I found them a bit frustrating at times, with them saying one thing and then doing the opposite.

Writing Style?
Good but not very good. There were some paragraphs that didn't flow together.

Definitely an interesting premise. Not necessarily historically accurate but hey.
Loved that we had a wonderful epilogue.

Em lives in Scotland and loves all things Regency. When she's not lost in Austen, she's exploring other worlds and interesting new planets.
