Mythical Monday: Bewitched by Aquarius by Mae Clair

bigstock-Aquarius-vector-Zodiac-sign-b-25800644I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a fan of astrology or horoscopes. Based upon my January birthday, I’m an Aquarius, the sign of the water-bearer. And I remember the song by the Fifth Dimension. :) Once you start branching into rising moons, houses and cusps, I’m clueless.

I had to poke around to gather information for this post and discovered that Aquarians are idealistic, caring and intelligent. It seems we like intellectual stimuli and have an intrinsic love for nature and creativity. Ok, I’...

Friday the 13th Fun by Mae Clair

It’s Friday the 13th! *cue spooky music*

One of my best friends from childhood was born on the thirteenth of January. I remember how she used to love when her birthday fell on a Friday, as it made it extra special. :)

In case you’re wondering, yes I am superstitious — about a lot of things. But I don’t have problems crossing the paths of black cats, not forwarding chain emails for fear of catastrophic reprisals, or even opening an umbrella in the house. Pish!

On the other hand, I’m not fond of th...

An Attraction to the Sea by Mae Clair

Sailing boat silhouette at sunsetIt’s Thursday, the week is almost over, and the weekend is hovering on the horizon. YAY! Once hump day is past, I always tend to be more excitable. Okay, giddy. Weekends mean more time for writing. :)

Today, I have an extra reason for feeling upbeat. My good friend, Debbie Peterson, has invited me to her blog to discuss my “attraction to the sea.” Please drop by if you get a chance to share your own comments about what attracts you to the ocean and its enchanting folklore. You can find the post...

Donna Cummings Talks Writing, Regency England, and Lord Rakehell’s Love

Welcome Page PhotoIf you like humor and flirtatious fun in your romance reading, you’re going to love today’s guest! Donna Cummings is known for writing humorously ever-after romances. And when she delves into the rakes and scoundrels of Regency England — oh my! *fanning self* Lets just say its easy to become besotted with her characters.

The first time I encountered Donna, I was a greenhorn newbie poking around on writing blogs. SHE was being interviewed *gasp* about LORD MIDNIGHT, a previous Regency release....

Mythical Monday: Defining the Basilisk by Mae Clair

Anyone who’s read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets or seen the movie is a familiar with a basilisk. But the creature depicted in J.K. Rowling’s universe is different than many of the original legends. In some early retellings the basilisk is a small snake that oozes a noxious trail of venom in its wake. In others it resembles a cockerel, and others still, a fire breathing serpent.

So which is it?

Although legends differ in the appearance of the basilisk, all agree the creature is deadly....

Christina, please share a bit about yourself and tell us how long you’ve been writing.

Thank you for hosting me as I promote my thriller...

emma-meadePlease welcome an awesome Wizard with Words! I’m thrilled to have Emma Meade as my guest today. Emma makes her home in Ireland and writes fantastic tales of the paranormal. We “met” through a mutual friend when Emma did a guest stint on the blog of L.J. Kentowksi and I immediately snatched up her book UNDER THE DESERT MOON after reading the blurb and excerpt. Mythical Monday: The Spooky House by Mae Clair

Happy Labor Day, everyone! It’s a holiday and the three day weekend has me feeling lazy.

I cheated with today’s Mythical Monday because I originally ran this post on June 6, 2012, before I’d begun my weekly feature. Since only four people saw it (and it was a Wednesday), I figure I’m safe in posting it again. :) I hope you enjoy!

The Spooky House

There’s one in every neighborhood. When I was six, the spooky house was two doors down, part of the urban tree-lined street where my family made their ho...
