Comic Con Post #2 – Notable Panels

Because one post is not enough to capture the awesomeness of Comic Con 2013, I’m back with more pics and fun..lxf2{position:absolute;clip:rect(456px,auto,auto,498px);}

I have a running tradition I hope always continues at Comic Con – that tradition is George R R Martin. I am a huge Game of Thrones fan and freaked out online with everyone else the night of the Red Wedding. *whispers* I watch the show and sadly have not read the books.

Game of Thrones was one of my MUST-SEE panels this year. My camera and phone camera made everything look further away, so I took pics of the screens too that I’m sharing here. In other words, Things Appear Further Away Than They Were.

I swooned over Robb Stark (Richard Madden) – he was charming and funny on stage, smiley and adorbs… and from what I saw in person too.

Jon Snow aka Kit Harrington was also fun to watch. I loved his chemistry with Rose Leslie who plays Ygritte at the panel. I might have freaked out when I saw him in person, but I kept my excitement contained.

IMG_1929Let’s not forget the beautiful Emilia Clarke. She’s stunning with her brown hair and when Jason Momoa ran out on stage and kissed her…. *flatline* I miss Drogo and Khaleesi.

IMG_1925

And wouldn’t these two beautiful people make a great onscreen couple? Just sayin’ – I think they need to do something together.

My Game of Thrones story- My friends and I saw GRRM eating at the same restaurant as us at breakfast. I decided I was going to send this note over via the waiter, but chickened out. When I met GRRM that night, I handed it to him:

IMG_1849He laughed really hardy and then said I’m glad you didn’t give this to me at breakfast because it would have made for an ominous start to my day.

I was at Comic Con for several panels including The Worlds End:

Hunger Games was my other MUST-SEE panel: It did not disappoint. The actors were in great moods, Jennifer was funny, Josh charming, and Liam gorgeous. The trailer was great. I was so excited to see it.

A HUGE bonus panel that was really great to be in the audience for was the Divergent panel: After seeing this panel and the trailer for the movie, I really need to read these books.

Other notable panels I saw were:

The Visionary Panel with Directors: Edgar Wright, Marc Webb, and Alfonso Cuaron.

Ender’s Game because I got to see Harrison Ford

IMG_1867

Gravity panel with Sandra Bullock and Alfonso Cuaron

Veronica Mars panel had an amazing energy and excitement in the audience.

I don’t even watch The Walking Dead because it seems way too scary for me, but I really dug the panel and preview trailer. Maybe I can watch between my fingers. I’m intrigued.

And the KickAss 2 panel was totally KickAss!

Next time I’ll post about parties, signings, and sightings.

XO,

S.

Comic Con Adventures Part 1

I’m a very lucky girl and had such an amazing time at Comic Con this year. I always love going to San Diego and this event in particular is one of the highlights of the year. I get to visit with friends I haven’t seen all year and enjoy geeking out over all the cool panels and sights of the convention. There are so many amazing memories, but I’m gonna only torture you with a few today:

In no particular order because everything I did and experienced has such amazingness attached that they were all special to me.

Meeting Simon Pegg was A-MAZ-ING! I’ll admit, when I heard he was having a panel for The World’s End, I knew I’d be lining up in the wee hours to make sure I got into that panel. I was super excited and have crazy excited eyes in the pic, but I’ll take it. lol

Any and Every Time I get to spend with Daisy Prescott:

She just makes everything more fun… even when you’ve only had 15 minutes sleep on a cold sidewalk outside a convention center.

This was the most fun year yet, my third Con, and I can’t wait for Comic Con 2014.

CC Post 2 will include some of yours and mine fave authors as well as George R R Martin. Stay tuned…

Until then, XO,

S.

Good Intentions Cover and Title Reveal

Good Intentions is book 2 in the Welcome to Paradise series and follows the journey we began with Mallory and Evan in Good Vibrations.

The cover is here and I LOVE IT! I’ve been so excited to share this with you for a while. The talented Sarah Hansen of Okay Creations designed it and it just feels perfect for this book.

The image chosen for the cover was the first image I ever found for the series. It was love at first site and I knew I had to use it. It seemed to fit book 2 in my mind best, so here we are.

The title came about during writing. It seemed to jump off the page to me. After all our dynamic duo – Evan and Mallory – have been through Good Intentions just worked well for this second installment in the series.

So here we are with a cover and title reveal. Good Intentions will be released on September 9th, 2013.

Final Front of Ebook

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00071]

Two words sum up my summer in paradise: Evan Ashford.

I have a life back home I must return to, though my heart battles this reality. What started as a carefree summer fling has become so much more. Evan has become so much more. He’s become everything. Cupping his face, I stare into his deep blue eyes, wanting to lose myself once more… needing to know he feels this too.

Although our connection won’t stop the summer’s end from rushing toward us or silence the demons Evan battles, I have faith our love can overcome the obstacles that will undoubtedly arise from us choosing to be together. I still worry… Will our good intentions be good enough? But I’m all in, willing to take the risk, knowing he can destroy my heart if I’m wrong.

Like a riptide, I was forever changed by one woman: Mallory Wray.

Our eyes meet and we spend a moment looking into the others’, reading the fear and the love that mingles within. I move slowly down and kiss her forehead, her nose, her eyelids, her cheeks, and her chin before I kiss her lips again—soft and gentle, not rushed, but sensual. She smiles and I die inside knowing that I won’t get to see her face every day. I’ve been spoiled by this sweet angel giving me all her days and nights. I possessively take hold of her wrists and like so many times before, the air stills as our connection intensifies. I can’t help myself when it comes to her.

I kiss her.

Rain pours down harder and I wrap my arms around her, engulfing her body, her love, her soul.

XO,

S.
