Busy Busy Busy: Loving Life
School has been in session for one week and I am getting used to the peace and quiet with only one child at home. My routine has been disturbed due to the three-month summer break and it is going to take some time to change my habits back to a schedule. It is great to be busy but my house is calling clean me.
Laundry, dishes, children’s toys and junk mail are on my to do list. I need to make a hundred trips up the stairs to put the toys away. I know toys are at a surplus in our home. A garage sale would be a great idea but with the upcoming baby in November I am holding off until I make a decision. Letting God lead me in the path of the right decision of whether to take on another grandchild. It is a little girl.
My children are happy which is my number one goal. My five-year likes her kindergarten class and her teacher. She is dealing well with being away for a full day of class. So far so good six stickers for the sixth day in a row!
I took my three-year old to the library this morning for some one on one time. It was really nice. He enjoyed the morning reading group. I have been asked to share my book, Your Shoes My Shoes on September 11 and 13th at a local Houston library. I found a shoe apron, purse and a chair to bring with me. I am super excited to read the book to all the little girls and boys.
My second book is very close to being published. I received my manuscript back from the editor last week and I am working on the final edits. This book is geared towards both girls and boys from preschool through third grade. It can be used as a second reader. It is a story about a monster and I have already been invited to a local library in October to read this book.
I am also working on a third book which is about a little girl from Houston, Texas. I am honored to share my work with you and your children.
Have a fabulous week!

What is my blog about: Life Real Talk
The weekend is well into swing and it is Sunday night. My favorite day of the week has always been Mondays. I am looking forward to this Monday morning which is the first day of school for my five-year old.
I have mixed emotions about her leaving for a full day of kindergarten but after experiencing the brother and sister sibling rivalry all summer long I am ready. I am ready to move on to my next goal and continue pursuing the adventures that I have already started.
This year I have made a choice to take my own life back and no it wasn’t my new years resolution. My new years resolution was to quit smoking. I quit smoking on March 24, 2012. The only reason I quit my habit was because I was tired of the cigarette having control over me. Smoking is a terrible habit but it is enormously painful to quit smoking.
I have always been a person who puts everyone else’s needs first. I have been living for the needs of others instead of living for myself. When someone would ask me a question I would always reply in the way that I knew they wanted me to. I felt like a robot almost as if I was only taking a breath when someone would tell me too.
After adopting my own grandchildren in December of last year I decided my life needed a major reconstruction. I was tired of asking myself what am I going to be when I am allowed to grow up. I missed the empty nester bus after raising four young adults because I took on a second round of children. To make changes in my life I would have to dig deep down within my soul and I would have to realize that I was the only person in charge of making my life change. No one could help me except the man upstairs.
I needed to make a decision and I knew complaining about my life wouldn’t lead me anywhere. I was tired of giving my inner self repeated excuses of why I couldn’t or shouldn’t do something. To make a monumental life change I would have to pull my inner strength together and throw my feet into the fire while rasing both of my adopted children under the age of five. I knew the easy street choice also. I could just accept the fact that when I die my head stone could read, “Here lay’s a mother who gave her life to motherhood.” I wanted more.
So here I am taking new steps in my life and the best part is I know I am not alone. I have you my reader’s who are walking by my side as I step forward creating my new life. When I decided to start blogging in March of this year I had no clue I would follow through with the project of writing a children’s book and to take it one step further by having it published. I have always loved to write and talk to others. One thing that makes me happy is making people smile even if it is only for a moment in time.
My blog is about real talk. You don’t have to put your make up on to read my blog. I don’t pretend and sugar coat anything in my life. We all walk in the same shoes, it is only our life paths are different.

Our Family Vacation: Lake Travis, Texas
I survived a week’s family vacation in Austin, Texas with two children under the age of five. On top of that I experienced ten solid days with my husband twenty-four hours a day. One of my best attributes is determination and I am lucky to have that trait. My five-year old little girl who is entering kindergarten in ten days told me yesterday she was tired. I think I need a week to recoup from exhaustion at home and then I will be ready for school to start. We visited the Alamo in San Antonio and we all dipped into the cold water springs at 68 degrees in Barton Springs, Texas. The children did not like the cold water but I thought it was refreshing. Our family visited the state capitol in Austin, Texas which is enormous. We also took the children to see the mexican flat tailed bats that fly at dusk in Austin. I was glad the bats stay under the bridge. I worked on two of my upcoming books to be published in the near future while relaxing in our condo on Lake Travis as the children argued with sibling rivalry and the television blared in the background as my husband tried to watch a movie.
It is great to be home. Moving on to new adventures and treasuring the moments in time. I hope you have enjoyed your summer!

Sharing: Brother And Sister Tea Party For Two
A tea party for two
Big sister says, pouring a cup for you
Hot chocolate is served, sitting at the table and as they dine
Little brother pointing to his cup saying this is one is mine
Sharing together and I haven’t even heard a wine
Big sister says add a little milk? Little brother says no thank you, not this time
The big sister says ok, fine
One sister
One brother
One happy mother
Cookies, hot chocolate and marshmallows watching while they share
Both brother and sister sharing is very, very rare
Using the words please and thank you
Politely they ask would you like a cup too?
For one moment I realized I don’t always live in a zoo.
