ASA Episode 6: Acceptance Is a Bitch

Another bomb could have gone off and Lacey would not have even noticed it after the bombshell Caroline just dropped. Caroline was gay. How the hell did she not know about this before now?

“You didn’t want to know.” Caroline told her.

Oh shit! She had spoken out loud. She stood there like an idiot. She should say something. “So you’re gay, that’s cool.” So fucking smooth Lacey. “Sorry I’m being an ass. It’s just that you dated boys, that’s all I’ve seen you with.”

Caroline gave her a shrug. “My people, the micro zion mixed breed, like both genders. It’s about the person for us, not necessarily about the gender. I haven’t talked about it much because most of my friends are immature humanoids and can’t handle it.”

Ouch. Lacey felt she probably deserved that. She should have been more open and understanding so that Caroline felt that she could confide in her. She felt even more horrible if that was possible. “Again, sorry for being an ass.” She tried to fight her curiosity but she couldn’t help but ask Rigs, “Did you know about this?”

Caroline snorted and answered for him. “He knew from the beginning and didn’t care. That’s what made a relationship with him so easy. We were all about the hot sex. Isn’t that right Rigs?”

“Shut up Caroline.” Rigs growled at her. He turned to Lacey. “I have known from the beginning and respected her wishes to not tell anyone.”

Caroline walked around looking at the almost empty campus. “The campus is so quiet, there isn’t anyone out right now.”

“The fear of bombs is keeping them from straying too far. I hear that many of the parents are trying to fight to have their kids pulled out of this year’s school year until things calm down.” Rigs commented watching Lacey.

Lacey frowned. “I hope my parents don’t get on the band wagon for that. I don’t want to leave yet.” Lacey turned back to Caroline. “You said your girlfriend tried to hurt herself. Is she okay?”

Caroline sighed. “Abbey is being held for 48 hour observation. I’ll be heading back to the hospital in a little bit to check on her.”

“I hope she gets better.” Lacey told her. “I would to get to meet her soon.”

Caroline gave Lacey a half smile. “Are you sure you’re ready for that?”

Lacey straightened her shoulders. “You’re my friend. I accept you for who you are.”

Caroline patted her on the shoulder. “Thanks midget. I love you too. As soon as Abbey is feeling better, I’ll introduce her to you guys. You’ll like her. She’s much nicer than me.”

Rigs snorted. “Anyone is nicer than you Caroline.”

Caroline looked over at Rigs. “You still think I had something to do with the bombing?”

Rigs shook his head. “I don’t think so. But you have to admit it looked awfully suspicious. You are called away right before the explosion happens. Then we don’t hear from you almost a whole day.”

Caroline huffed. “I told you that I lost my phone and that I had to leave because of Abbey.”

There was a long awkward pause as Rigs and Caroline stared each other down. Lacey didn’t know what to do. She just stood there waiting. Finally Rigs relaxed his stance.

“I believe you.”

“I would never put all of you in danger like that.” Caroline told them. “Do they have a suspect yet?”

Lacey shook her head. “Not for sure but they suspect that it was the Gorads, with some help by someone here on the planet.”

“Oh shit.” Caroline commented staring at them.

“Yep.”

*****

“I don’t need another bowl of damn soup!” Blayne growled out as he pushed the bowl away that Bay had put in front on him.

“Don’t growl at me mister. I’m not the one that knocked my head onto a cement sidewalk.”

“Where’s Lacey?”

Bay sighed. “I told you three times. She got a text from Professor Toler that he needed her for something.”

“I didn’t think she had classes with Toler.”

“She took advanced classes with him this past summer. In fact, she took advanced classes with all her studies and will probably graduate with the rest of us.” Bay told him bending down to pick up the uneaten bowl of soup.

“That’s great. She’ll be able to go to graduate minor academy with us. I know that’s what she wants.” He was silent for a moment drinking his water. “You said Professor Toler?”

“Yes.”

“Isn’t that Rigs’s professor?”

“Yeah so what?”

Blayne tried to get up but his sister was there pushing him back down. “What are you doing?”

“I can’t let Rigs spend extra time with her.”

“Easy Romeo, he’s not going to be dating her while they are in class together.”

He sighed but laid back down. “You’re right.” He looked up at his sister and frowned. “You look tired. Have you rested at all?”

She sighed. “Not really. I had a busy morning. I checked on Lacey first, then Trevon, and now you. In between I have been helping out at the medical center taking students back to their dorms.”

“Shit Bay. You’re wearing yourself out. Sit down before you fall down.” He reached over and made a space on the small sofa next to his bunk bed.

Bay laid down and closed her eyes. “I’m just going to sleep for a while.”

“Sleep as long as you need Bay.”

*****

Lacey and Rigs walked back to the dorms. Caroline had left to go check on her girlfriend in the hospital. Lacey saw a couple walking about twenty feet ahead. She pulled Rigs into the shadow of some trees.

“What the hell Lacey?”

“Is that Professor Jotham and Ms. Krebbs?” Lacey whispered pointing to the couple getting ready to pass them by.

“Yeah.” Rigs watched as Professor Jotham grabbed Ms. Krebbs around the waist and pulled her to him making her giggle. Ms. Krebbs was a thirty-five year old Administrator for the school. She was pretty for a slightly older woman with curly brown hair and brown eyes.

“Why is Ms. Krebbs with him? She is supposed to be dating Professor Toler.”

Rigs stared down at her questioningly. “How do you know that and why do you care?”

“I took classes with Toler over the summer and helped him prepare lessons. He talked about how much he admired Ms. Krebbs. I just can’t believe she’s two timing him.”

“Did he say they were exclusive?” Rigs asked leaning an arm on the tree and pulling Lacey towards him.

She shook her head. “No...but it sounded like he thought they were. It just doesn’t make any sense.”

“Maybe Toler didn’t show her how much she meant to him. It’s his loss.”

Lacey, just then, realized that she was cradled against Rig’s side, hidden by the big tree. “I need to go.”

“Not yet, I want to make sure I show you today how much you mean to me.” Rigs leaned down and kissed her.

Lacey didn’t try to push away. She had been fantasizing about kissing again. She wrapped her arms around his neck and let her mind shut off for a little while. All her worries would be there later for her to obsess about. Right now, she wanted to get lost in Rigs’s kisses.

*****

“Report Captain Bevel.” Gorad General Trike demanded.

“Sir, the Academy is on lockdown. No one is to come or go from the planet.”

“And our contacts below?” General Trike asked looking at the estimated damage done by their bomb.

“They can send a low frequency encrypted signal to us when you are ready for the next phase.”

“Excellent. Soon the Academy will know what it means to be the enemy of the Gorad Legion.”

EXCERPT:

JadEN tasted his dream lover, licking the swollen lips of her pussy as her juice flowed over his face. He growled at her, letting her know how much he loved her scent and taste. Nothing else had ever tasted this good. He could eat her all day and night and never get enough.

She gripped his hair as she pulled him tighter against her entrance. She kept telling him that what he was doing felt so good to her, but she wanted more. He loved that she was just as aggressive as he was. It turned him on. He wanted more of her, too. She was an addiction, and he knew having her once would never be enough. He applied more pressure, using his thumb and forefinger to tweak her clit.

“JadEN, please.” The female squeezed his hips with her thighs as she begged him to take her.

Hearing her say his name made him growl possessively. He rose up over her body, nuzzling against her breasts and then nibbling a spot on her shoulder. He pushed his cock deep inside of her, and they both moaned. He set a fast and deep pace, thrusting over and over. When they both reached their climax, they shouted out as they released.

“By the Goddess, Rose!” He released his seed deep within her, satisfied that he’d claimed her for his own.

Episode 5: Deal With It

“I’m fine. Really. Don’t cancel your trip. I’ll call you if anything comes up. Yes Mom. I love you too.” Lacey hung up her phone and sighed with relief.

That was one phone call she should have been expecting. The school’s medical center had to call her parents to get approval for her x-rays and the pain medication since she wasn’t eighteen yet. She was released her after six hours for twenty-four hour bedrest. Bay and Blayne helped her get home to her dorm room while Rigs had to remain with Trevon so that he could take him back to their dorm.

As soon as she walked through the door her Mom called. She should have let the call go to voicemail. But she knew it wouldn’t stop her Mom. The last thing she needed was her family coming to the school to see her or her parents pulling her out of school too early.

“Did you tell them about the bomb?” Bay asked. She had gone to the cafeteria to get them food while Lacey was on the phone with her parents.

“No. I just told them that there was an accident, that me and several students went to the medical center for treatment.”

“Lacey!” Bay reprimanded her.

“No way am I telling them there was a bomb. My Dad would pull me out of here faster than you can blink. I won’t be able to finish Junior Academy and move on to Graduate Academy. I’ve worked too long and too hard to have it all ruined.” She wanted to distract Bay. “How’s Blayne doing?”

Bay rolled her eyes. “He’s probably going to milk this to get attention for weeks. My parents sent him a care package already. I told them not to come because I would check on him every day. I took him some food.”

“What about Trevon? How’s his head?”

Bay growled. “He’s stubborn as hell. I will check on him when I check on Blayne again later.”

“What does Blayne say about you agreeing to go out with Trevon?”

Bay paled. “I haven’t told him yet. I don’t want him to know he’ll just overreact to it.”

“Why does he have such a problem with you dating Trevon? I thought they were friends.”

“Blayne has always been protective of me. Growing up back home most of his friends would hit on me plenty of times and I would turn them away. But for some reason it really bothers him that Trevon flirts with me.”

“Maybe because he knew you weren’t attracted to his other friends, but you are to Trevon.”

Bay blushed as she shook her head. “I never said anything about being attracted to Trevon.”

“Come on Bay. It’s just the two of us here. You have always found Trevon attractive.”

“Maybe a little. Okay, he’s sex on a stick. But I’m not going to give in to him. I don’t take him seriously because he flirts with everyone. He’s the campus playboy.”

“That’s just for show.”

“Is it?” Bay didn’t sound convinced.

“I think he really likes you. It’s the way he watches you all the time.”

Bay snorted. “Sounds a little stalkerish.” They looked at each other and laughed.

“Well, the truth will be known whether he really does like you when you guys go out.”

“Speaking about going out, how did your date with Blayne go?”

“It was fine...until Rigs kissed me.”

“He what!”

*****

“Look man, just take your damn pills. I have to get to field lab class in fifteen minutes.” Rigs ran a hand through his hair with one hand while handing a small cup with two pills inside it to Trevon.

“I don’t need them. I’m not hurting right now.” Treven shook his head laying on the sofa watching television.

“You have to take the pain meds every four hours. If you miss a dose, you will be in pain before you can take another and it takes twenty minutes for it to kick in.”

“Who are you? Nurse Rigs?”

“Take it so I can go to class!” Rigs growled shoving the small cup in Trevon’s hands.

“Why are you in such a hurry to get to class? You usually get there ten minutes late every day anyway.”

“Professor Toler is having Captain Ray take us to ground zero where the bomb went off to get experience in investigating what happened.”

Trevon sat up too fast and winced in pain. “You're kidding right? I have to go.”

“Nope, you have to report back to the medical center for clearance before returning to class.”

“That’s bull shit.”

“Take your meds, get the rest the doctors told you to do, then you’ll be back to causing trouble like always.” Rigs opened the door and left.

“I hate pills.” Trevon growled as he downed the meds.

*****

Lacey knew she was blushing. Bay was looking at her like she had won the lottery or something.

“Let me get this straight. You are on a date with one guy, the better one might I add, then make out with another guy. Then the first guy, who is an idiot by the way, tells you its okay to date both of them. You have gone from a dating virgin to a menage quen in less than a day.”

“It’s not like that. The kiss was not planned or anything.”

“Blayne wasn’t mad?” Bay asked.

Lacey shook her shoulders. “He said he was okay.”

“Then if they both are in agreement on it, date them both. How as the kiss?”

Lacey sighed and she knew she had a goofy look on her face. “I was amazing.” Her thoughts were interrupted by a text she got. “Bay, I’m going to have to cut our girl talk early. I’ve got somewhere I have to be.”

*****

“Students remember we are looking over a disaster scene here. You need to remember not to move anything unless you first ask me or Captain Ray.” Professor Toler told them pushing his glasses up on his nose.

Rigs wanted to go to the other side where the bomb marks were the darkest. But he was assigned the opposite end. Each of the students were given scanner gloves, gloves with digital scanners built in the fingertips. The wearer of the gloves wave their hands over an area slowly and a scan is taken and analyzed. The officials already used a full scan that scanned the whole building in one sweep from a satellite. But their professor wanted them to see what they may have to do out on the field when the larger scanners aren’t available.

“Professor Toler, I think I found something.” One of the students called out.

Rigs and the other students went to the area close to the main entrance. The professor bent down and pulled a piece of metal that had embedded itself between the floor and the wall. He turned it around then held it out for the students to take a look at.

“Can anyone tell me what this might be?”

Rigs frowned staring at it. “It looks like that the back of a cell phone, or what’s left of the back of a cell phone.”

“Very good Mr. Lawson. Let’s scan it for prints and to determine what brand it is.” The professor allow two other students do the scanning.

“Professor, do you think that it might belong to the bomber?” A female student asked.

“I won’t know for sure until the scan results come back. Most of the students had their phones on them, even if they got damaged. This one basically flew apart, so it had to have been close the to detonation spot. There are two possible scenarios here. One is that someone dropped their phone on the floor next to the detonator without realizing. Second, the phone was attached to the detonator and the bomber called to activate remotely.”

Captain Ray came up to take a look at the piece of the phone. “I’ll request a list of all registered cell phones of students and staff on campus and see if any have reported a lost phone.” He turned towards the students. “Can anyone tell me the principles of investigating a disaster scene like this?”

Rigs spoke up. “You look for the what, where, when, how, who, and why.”

“That’s correct. We look at what happened, a bomb was detonated. Where it happened was in a dorm and when it occurred was during a party. The how is a suspected remote detonated cryo bomb. What’s left to answer is the who and why.”

“Was it the Gorads?” One of the students asked.

“The probability of that is great,” Professor Toler commented. “But why would the Gorads attach a dorm full of students at a party?”

No one seemed to have an answer for that. The Professor continued questioning. “Also, it brings up more questions to ask. If it was the Gorads, how did they manage to get past school security onto campus and place a bomb in a busy dorm without anyone noticing?”

“It can’t be the Gorads, security is wired to their anatomy and heat signature which is much lower than anyone here on campus.” A new voice called out from the doorway.

Rigs recognized that sweet voice. He turned to watch as Lacey entered the dorm. What was she doing here? She should be recovering.

“Miss Clark, thank you for coming. I hated to ask you so soon after your accident. But you have the most analytical mind on campus, besides myself,” Professor Toler said.

Rigs glared at the professor. Lacey should be no where near this place. He found a center block and placed it so that Lacey could sit down. He didn’t say a word, just pointed to it. She rolled her eyes at him but she did sit down.

“Do you have the scans uploaded?” Lacey asked the Professor ignoring Rigs who stood next to her.

The professor handed her his laptop. “I had them scanned to my secure drive.”

Lacey started reading the results. “The markings don’t appear to be material that is normally associated with the Gorads.”

Captain stood over her shoulder looking at the readings. “It doesn’t mean they couldn’t have gotten the materials from somewhere else and used it to make the bomb.”

“It still doesn’t answer the question of how they would get through security without our satellites detecting their presence, a ship, even their heat signature would have set off alarms.” Lacey persisted quickly reviewing the other scans.

One of the students threw out suggestions. “Either they found a way to camouflage their ships and their heat signatures, or they had help from someone already on Campus.” There was a long silent moment as everyone thought about the possibility that there was a traitor somewhere on campus.

Rigs looked again at the metal piece of cell phone. It was technology that the Alliance used, not the Gorads. They were telepathic beings so they didn’t need to use phones to communicate with one another. Someone here helped set the bomb that almost killed Lacey.

Lacey stopped what she was doing and looked around the ruined building. “Professor Toler, all the scans were done above surface, including the one done by our satellite correct?”

“Yes, why?”

“There are basements and tunnels under the dorms. We need scans from underneath this building. There might be more evidence that could be found.”

Professor Toler and Captain Ray looked at one another. It was clear that neither had even considered the basement or tunnels. Captain Ray spoke, “We need to scan the area below ground immediately.”

Professor Toler shook his head. “I can’t let the students below, it is not safe or secure. The Dean would have my head.”

Captain Ray growled but he took out his own phone and called for some of his lieutenants to come for scanning. “Let’s go ahead and clear the area then. We won’t know what we might find down there.”

“Okay students, hand in your scanner gloves. Great job. We’ll meet again in class on Wednesday.” Professor Toler dismissed the students.

*****

“What the hell were you thinking agreeing to come back to a building you could have died inside of?” Rigs questioned Lacey as he pulled her over to a tree some distance away.

“You were there.” Lacey crossed her arms over her chest stubbornly.

“I didn’t have my head pounded into cement.” Rigs growled at her.

“I’m fine. I took my meds earlier and rested. I only came to help Professor Toler look over the scans.”

Rigs breathed in and out trying to get his anger and fear under control. He almost lost her forever and he never wanted to experience that again. “I’m sorry for yelling.”

She smiled and relaxed her stance. “I can’t stay mad at you when you do things out of concern for me.”

He stepped closer to her and took her hands in his. He brought them to his lips and placed soft kisses against her scrapes that were healing. “I want to put you in a bubble and protect you from everything.”

She snorted. “If you put me in a bubble how will you kiss me?”

He moved closer leaning his head down to hers. “You’re right, I’ll just have to get in that bubble with you. It will be our own little bubble world.” That caused her to giggle.

His lips brushed softly against hers and she couldn’t help but melt in his arms. One kiss was all it took. She was lost to him. She wrapped her arms around his neck opening her mouth for him to devour her. She wanted the moment to last forever, but they were interrupted.

“Hey guys. Can’t you get a room or something?” Caroline was leaning against the tree watching them.

They pulled apart abruptly. Rigs turned on Caroline. “Where the hell have you been? You leave Bay and Lacey at the party and a damn bomb suddenly goes off.”

Caroline held up her hands. “I had an emergency I had to deal with. I lost my phone and hadn’t had a chance to get a new one so I could call and check on everyone. That’s why I am here. The school campus is under lockdown and I had to prove to them that I was a student just to get through the gates. Is everyone okay?”

Lacey was about to reassure her that they were fine but Rigs cut her off. “Why do you care?”

“Riggs, what has gotten into you?” Caroline was confused.

“How about the fact that you leave right before the bomb goes off, you conveniently lose your phone and a piece of a phone that was used as a remote detonation was just found.”

Caroline’s face paled. “What are you accusing me of?”

“Did you help set that bomb?”

“Rigs! You can’t possibly suspect Caroline.” Lacey shook her head.

“Then she can tell us what this emergency was that made her leave her friends.” Rigs crossed his arms over his chest and stared Caroline down.

Caroline lifted her chin in defiance. “I had to leave because my...girlfriend tried to kill herself.”

EXCERPT:

“What’s next?” Rogan asked impatiently. “I know we said we were going to give her some time, but damn it, I don’t want her to go fucking some random guy.”

That sobered his brothers, and soothed his frustration. They were all in agreement. She was the perfect woman to handle the four Brooks brothers. Since they were teenagers they had been sharing women amongst them for sex. Sometimes one woman for every two brothers, and occasionally one for all four of them, but never one to keep. Now they had a chance, and it looked like it was about to be washed away with a bottle of Tequila.

“Let’s go. If she wants to drink, dance, and play pool, she’s going to have more company than she ever imagined. And if she wants to go home with someone, it will be us,” Parker said, and all three other brothers nodded in agreement.

They headed into the bar, and Rogan’s eyes scanned the room looking for a waterfall of brown curls on top of a delicious curvy body. Sawyer spotted her first, leaning against the bar chatting with a local ranch hand. She had her arms crossed under her small breasts pushing them up and out, much to Rogan’s dismay and delight. She was in full throttle flirt mode, and he wanted to shut it down immediately.

Walking across the bar as a unit they surrounded her, with Hudson slipping in between her and the drooling cowboy she had been chatting with, and Parker and Sawyer on her right.

“Hey!” she yelped in surprise as Rogan’s arms went around her waist, and he pulled her back up against his chest. The bare skin of her belly was soft and warm, and he knew he would never forget that moment. She felt so perfect in his arms, and her fresh scent flooded his brain.

“Hey there, sexy. I hear you said hi to my brothers but didn’t stick around to say hello to me. I’m hurt,” he said with a playful pout, and she rolled her eyes giggling.

“Is that the story they told? I don’t quite remember it that way. I seem to recall Parker threatening me, then Hudson delaying me from my plans, Sawyer bossing me around, and finally Parker playing Daddy, and manhandling me,” she said with a sigh, but he nearly groaned out loud when she settled more firmly into him instead of pulling away.

“I haven’t even started manhandling you yet, sunshine. Although I would be happy to play with you anytime, but I prefer to be called Parker over Daddy,” Parker said, and her eyes grew wide. She stared into the mirror over the bar at the four men surrounding her.

Rogan wondered what was going through her pretty little head when her eyes glazed over slightly, and her heart rate increased. She shook her head as though to clear her thoughts and frowned.

“Guys, you’re seriously cramping my style. No man is going to want to get close to me with all four of you hanging around,” she said in a pleading tone.

“Good,” Sawyer muttered under his breath, and Rogan grinned.

“That’s the idea,” Hudson said, and Rachel’s eyes nearly bugged out of her head.

“Huh?”

“Rachel, we get it. You just broke up with Mitch, and you’re trying to prove something. To yourself, or to him, it doesn’t matter. What does matter is that we don’t want you playing the field. We want you to come home with us,” Rogan said, bending to kiss the top of her head lightly. She stared into his mirror image in shock, but her body was pulsing in his arms. Whether she admitted it or not, she wanted them.

“Come on, stop playing around, guys,” she said with a toss of her hair.

Silence reigned for a few heartbeats, and then Parker slid his hand up her arm until he was gripping her chin between his thumb and forefinger forcing her to look him in the eyes. “Rachel, think about it. Four men, who want to please you, and give you more orgasms than you can imagine.”

She snorted in disbelief still staring into Parker’s eyes. “Would you stop teasing me? It’s really rather rude.”

Rogan could see Parker’s jaw clench in frustration. Parker hated being denied. Rachel was going to learn the hard way about his Alpha male nature if she kept it up. He knew that he had to interfere before the two of them began spitting fire at each other.

“So what exactly is your plan for the evening, Rach?” Rogan said softly, regaining her attention.

She blinked, and her tongue darted out to lick her full lips. Rogan wanted to capture those lips with his own, and worship them with his tongue. He wondered if she had any idea how many fantasies she had created in his brain with that quick little unconscious gesture. Her almost bare back was still pressed against his abdomen, and he knew she could feel his erection through his jeans. Just to tease her, he lightly grazed his thumb over the delicate jewel hanging from her navel. Her sharp intake of breath told him he was successful.

“I’m going to finish my drink, and then I suppose I’m going to ask some lonely cowboy to dance with me,” she said, gripping her glass tighter in her hands. She didn’t push him away from her, so Rogan continued to trace his finger over the petal soft skin of her belly.

“You have four lonely cowboys right here, ask away,” Sawyer said with a grin.

EXCERPT:

Why don’t you go get off your feet until dinner. I need to go shower real quick. Dalton did you call Ulysses about getting Devonshire’s shoe replaced?”

Just like that the moment was broken as Tanner and Dalton discussed a horse that had thrown a shoe that day. Clint gave her a wink, but he went back to working on the food prep, leaving her to do as she was told and head into the living room.

She sunk into the butter soft leather of the sofa, sighing with pleasure as she put the flower on the end table next to her, and took a sip of wine. Flavors exploded on her tongue, and the mellow scent of berry filled her nose. There was nothing of interest on T.V. so she stopped it on a music station, tapping her foot as Jason Derulo sang about “The Other Side.”

Her eyes drifted shut, and she let herself be swallowed up in the lyrics of the song and the uplifting dance beat. She wondered if she could handle a fling with one of the three Keegan brothers. It wasn’t like she would be here forever, in a couple of weeks Rachel’s mom would go back to Oklahoma, and Zoey would be able to move in there if she hadn’t found her own place yet. Living on the Triple T she didn’t have any rent to pay so she should be able to save up the money for a deposit pretty quickly. What if until then, she let herself be seduced by Clint, or even Dalton? There was no way she would offer herself up to any of them after being turned down so flatly by Tanner and then Dalton, but if she just flirted back a bit, maybe…

A sudden sinking of the sofa cushion next to her, made her jump and her eyes flew open to find Clint settling in beside her.

“Whoa, sorry angel. I didn’t mean to scare you. I seem to have a particular talent for that.” His arm went around the back of the couch just like Dalton’s always seemed to do when he sat with her.

“It’s alright, I guess I was lost in thought and didn’t hear you come in.” She reached for the remote and turned the volume down on the T.V. as Christina Aquilera started singing “Your Body.”

“That’s a good song.” Clint said, stealing the remote from her hand to turn it up just as she sang about finishing off on her own. What a fitting song for the thoughts she had been having a moment ago. “You know, I got to meet her once.”

“Who?”

“Christina. I guess meet isn’t quite the right word. I got to park her car once when I was working as a valet.”

Zoey laughed out loud, and Clint’s eyes widened. “You have got to do that more often. You’re beautiful when you laugh.”

A snort slipped out and she shook her head. “And you are a Grade A flirt.”

“Grade A, huh? You really think so? I’d rather be a Grade A prime piece of meat in your eyes, I think.” He wiggled his eyebrows sending Zoey into another round of giggles. She whacked his shoulder with the back of her hand, and he grabbed it in both of his, holding it over his heart. “You’re breaking my heart, angel. And here I thought we were going to get married and have a dozen kids together.”

“A dozen? You have to be joking? I can’t have a dozen kids, I would swell up to the size of a house!” She teased, and he tugged on her hand pulling her against his chest.

“Perfect, as long as you’re mine I don’t care how big you are.”

Clint swooped in for a kiss before she could respond, and she melted against him. Tomato sauce and man was all she tasted as his tongue swept past the barrier of her lips and stroked over her own. One of his hands slipped from between them to cup the back of her head, holding her in place for his mastery, and she lost herself in him.

Someone moaned, and then whimpered, and she was startled to realize it was her. Her hands flexed against his chest, fisting into the fabric of his t-shirt, and kneading the muscles of his pecks as she kissed him back.

A sharp slap on her raised ass broke them apart, and she turned to glare at Dalton, still breathing hard. “What the hell?”

“Save a little sugar for me, pretty lady. Clint here has to go check his masterpiece. The timer just went off.” Dalton looked way too pleased to have come upon her making out with his little brother, and she couldn’t decide if she was irritated or if she wanted to kiss him so that she could compare the two again.

Her lips tingled, and her pussy clenched when Clint brushed a sweet kiss over her mouth and then swaggered into the kitchen leaving her alone with Dalton. She turned a hard look on his grinning face.

“You enjoyed that.”

He gave her an innocent look, “What? The interrupting part, or the part where I got to watch from the doorway as you tried to swallow Clint’s tongue down your throat?”

Face flaming, Zoey glared at him with all of the intensity she could muster. It might have helped if he was wrong. “You know a gentleman wouldn’t point those things out.”

Dalton’s laugh boomed through the room, and she fought to keep a straight face, “Whatever gave you the idea that I was a gentleman, pretty lady?”

EXCERPT:

She paused before opening the car door and turned to face Mack. In the dark shadows of night he seemed more raw and dangerous, and her heart fluttered a little in her chest.

“I wish—”

“I’m sorry—”

They both started to speak at the same time, and broke off with a laugh. Mack shook his head, “If you’re going to try to apologize again, you may as well keep quiet. This wasn’t your fault in any way. It’s been coming for a long time.”

She nodded and stared at the button in the center of his wide chest in silence. His hands came up to wrap around each of her elbows and he rubbed up and down as though trying to warm her. If he only knew how hot she already was for him.

“I was going to say I wish this night had gone differently, Claudia. I will make it up to you on our second date.” His warm breathe caressed her cheek as he dipped his head down, and instinctively she lifted her face.

“There you go again, assuming there will be a second date.” She drew back, but her voice was so breathless he just grinned. Even in the dim moonlight she could see the deep groove of his dimples and the white flash of his teeth. The man had a killer smile to go with his sex God body.

“There will be.”

Three words, and her knees nearly collapsed. The confidence and command in those three words sent goosebumps skittering across her skin and she struggled to maintain her dignity. What would he think if she begged him to touch her right now?

“Sweetheart, I’m going to give you give you five seconds to get in your car and shut the door, because if you don’t I’m going to kiss you, and once I kiss you I have a feeling there will be no going back for us.”

She let out a gasp of indignation and then her breath caught. He was serious. Torn between the desperate desire to taste finally taste him and her own instinct for self-preservation, she swayed on her feet. Only his hands on her biceps kept her from toppling.

“Five…four…”

She jerked backwards and both of her hands landed on the center of his chest. Just the physical connection made her pussy throb and her skin burn.

“Three…two…”

Her mind was spinning as she pressed on hand to his chest, “Wait a second. Don’t I get a say in this? Who says I even want you to kiss me?”

“You’re still standing here.”

Lightning struck the moment their lips touched. Fire sizzled through her veins, and pooled directly between her thighs. She gasped on impact and he took it as an invitation to invade her mouth. That’s exactly what it was, and invasion. Her senses were completely overwhelmed and she melted into him, her arms sliding up around his neck as he braced himself on the car behind her with one hand and tugged her body tightly to him with the other.

Somewhere in the recesses of her brain she heard a tiny voice warning her about getting involved when there were so many hurdles between them, but in that moment she couldn’t hold on to it. There was no gap too wide or mountain too high when his mouth and hands were on her body. Instead, she felt as though she had finally found a home. A safe place where she could revel in this one man’s desire and need for her.

ASA Episode 4: Aftermath

Episode 4 - Aftermath

“Trevon, open your eyes for me. Come on honey, don’t leave me waiting.” Bay pleaded as she held Trevon’s head in her lap.

She was so scared that he would die, it would be her fault if he did. When the the explosion happened she had just started leaving the dance floor. She heard Trevon calling out her name then she felt someone tackle her to the ground. She only had a few seconds to orient herself and realize that Trevon had been the one to tackle her and cover her with his larger body.

The next thing she knew wood beams began to fall from the ceiling. Several fell on top of Trevon. He was hit in the head and passed out. Someone else came and helped move the beams off of Trevon but he still had not woken up yet. She was getting desperate.

“You’re scaring me. If you wake up I’ll go on that date you've been asking for for years now.”

Trevon’s eyes blinked open. He looked at her and smiled. “Finally, I knew you would come around. I just had to wear you down until you agreed.”

She half cried half laughed in relief. He was okay. Thank God. “You have no sense whatsoever.” She shook her head.

Trevon tried to sit up but winced in pain. Bay pushed him back down. “Easy. Wait until the paramedics come to help. They are taking everyone to the campus med center. I, also, overheard them calling for outside help too.”

“Where’s everyone else? Caroline, Blayne, Lacey, and Rigs?” He turned his head to look around but there was a lot of smoke fogging up the place.

“Caroline got a phone call five minutes after we arrived and had to leave. She didn’t say what it was, just some kind of emergency. I don’t know where Blayne or Lacey are. Last I saw Lacey was dancing with Rigs and Blayne was watching them like a hawk. I’m hoping they were were further away from the detonation.” Bay fought the tears. She was really worried about her friends and her brother.

“Maybe we’ll see them at the med center.” Trevon tried to reassure her.

“I hope so. I think I would know if something bad happened to Blayne, we’re really connected.” She prayed that her twin was okay.

*****

Lacey groaned as she felt her body being lifted and placed on the paramedics bed. She opened her eyes and squinted. “What happened?”

“Thank God you’re awake. Hey Blayne she’s awake.” Rigs called out.

Lacey looked to her right side to find Rigs following as the paramedics carried her to their transport. “Are you okay? Where’s Blayne?”

“I’m here. I’m fine I don’t need to be on this thing.” Blayne growled out.

Lacey turned her head to her left and sighed with relief to see Blayne on a bed like hers being lifted by the paramedics. She looked over at Rigs. “Did you get hurt?” She frowned see the cut on his forehead with some blood dripping down.

Rigs reached for her hand. “I’ve got a small cut that’s all. It’s you I’m worried about. Do you hurt anywhere?”

She shook her head then stopped suddenly paling. “My head hurts.”

“You hit it on the pavement when you were thrown from the blast.”

“Blast?”

“Yeah, some kind of bomb was detonated. Both you and Blayne were thrown from the blast. It scared the shit of out me.”

She coughed. She turned back to Blayne. “Are you sure you are okay?”

Blayne smiled at her. “I have cuts and bruises, got the wind knocked out of me. Have to say could have done without waking up to Rigs standing over me. Our first date went off with a bang huh?”

“Don’t make me laugh it hurts my ribs and my head.”

“Sorry honey.” Blayne apologized. He looked over at Rigs. “Have you seen my sister?”

“I saw her briefly with Trevon. He was being taken to a transport too. She looked okay though.”

“Thanks. Do they know what caused the explosion?” Blayne shifted on the small bed.

Rigs shook his head. “Not yet. There are investigators here looking everything over. Expect to be questioned. I spent five minutes answering questions already.”

Rigs looked down at Lacey and frowned. She had fallen asleep again. He gently squeezed her hand. “Baby, you have to stay awake. You could have a concussion.”

She squeezed back but didn’t open her eyes. “Good, I couldn’t feel this damn pain in my head if I were asleep.”

Rigs motioned for the paramedics to give her something. A few seconds later Lacey’s frown disappeared from her face. She opened her eyes and stared at Rigs. He was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. “Thanks.”

“For what?”

“Staying with me.”

Rigs leaned down and whispered in her ear. “There’s nowhere I’d rather be than by your side.”

*****

Bay didn’t want to leave Trevon but they were doing x-rays on his head and she had to find her brother. She walked the hallways littered with injured students and nursing staff. Most of the students had minor cuts and bruises. But she couldn’t see her brother anywhere. Panic was starting to set in. The she spotted Rigs standing outside a room. He was pacing back and forth. She pushed through the crowd to get to him.

“Riggs!” Bay called out. He turned to look at her and walked her way.

“Are you okay Bay?”

“I’m fine. What about Blayne and Lacey? I haven’t seen them.”

Rigs hugged her briefly. “They are being checked out right now. They both hit their heads on concrete when the bomb went off.”

Bay trembled. “A bomb? Are you sure it was a bomb?”

Rigs nodded. “Yeah, I overhead the Dean and the Fire Chief talking. They came here to question more people. The remains of the detonation was found. But there were no prints.”

“Who would set off a bomb in a dorm? It doesn’t make any sense.”

“I don’t know. But the authorities are pretty worried about it. All the dorms and campus buildings are being searched.”

“Are you sure Blayne is okay?” Bay bit her lip worriedly.

“He’s had his x-rays and is waiting for the results while they treat his cuts and bruises. I’m worried for Lacey. She kept falling asleep and complained of her head hurting.” Rigs admitted.

“They’ll both be fine. They have to be.”

“What about the others? Trevon and Caroline?” Rigs asked looking down the hallway hoping to see them bringing Lacey back.

“Trevon is getting x-rays too. He had knocked me out of the way when the beams started to fall from the ceiling. But one hit his head and knocked him out. Caroline left as soon as we got to the party. She said something came up that needed her attention.”

He frowned. “Like what? This party was her idea. Is sounds suspicious that she would just up and leave before the explosion.”

“What are you saying? Do you think she would have something to do with the bomb?” Bay could not believe what Rigs was implying.

“I don’t know what to believe. All I know was when I saw Lacey laying on the ground not moving, my heart stopped beating. I wish they would bring her back already.”

“Yeah, I’m kind of worried about Trevon. He saved my life. But at what cost?”

*****

“Hey kiddo. How ya doing?” Trevon called out.

“Trevon?” Lacey sat up on the hospital bed. She was in the holding room awaiting for them staff to do her x-ray. She noted Trevon being wheeled out in a wheelchair. “What happened to you?”

He laughed. “I thought I would see if my head could break a ten inch wood beam. Guess it broke my head instead. How about you?”

“My head hit the cement.”

“Damn. Does it hurt much?”

“It did at first. But the paramedics gave me something for the pain. Is Bay and Caroline okay?”

“Bay is. I was able to push her out of the way before the beams came down. Caroline left before everything went down.”

“Where did she go?”

“I don’t know. Bay said she got a phone call five minutes after they got to the party and said there was an emergency and she had to leave.”

“That’s really weird. She had been looking forward to this party.”

“It is weird. Do you know what happened to Rigs?”

“He has a cut and some bruises. But otherwise he’s okay.”

“So...how was your first date?” Trevon asked with laughter in his eyes.

“It was...unforgettable.”

*****

“Did it go as planned?” A man’s voice asked over the phone.

“Yes Sir. The authorities have no idea what is going on.”

“Good. Get our people in place for the net move.”

“Already on it.”

All About Author Elle Boon!!

Today we have the amazing Elle Boon with us. Please give her a warm welcome!
___________________

I had to interview Elle and here is how it all went.

KD:   What is your author name?
ELLE:  Elle Boon.

KD:  Where do you live? (part of the country or state or world)?
ELLE:  I live in Missouri, almost smack dab in the middle of Merica (lol)

KD:  When did you first publish?

ELLE:  My one year contract signing date is actually January 28th 2015. Soo excited. My first book came out on April 3, 2014 with Siren.

KD:  How many books have you published?

ELLE:  As of today I have 4 books out and my 5th is coming out on January 29th, 2015 which is Kira’s Warriors book 4 in the Ravens of War.

KD:  Which of your characters do you see yourself in the most?

ELLE:  I sort of put a little of myself in all of my female characters. In each story I find myself weaving a little bit of real life into their stories. For instance in Selena’s Men I have Selena getting on top the bar and dancing. I actually have done this a time or two. In Two For Tamara there is a scene where one of the ladies says “I don’t do girls” this was an actual conversation me and one of my bffs had after one too many drinks, and we were laughing and drinking. Long story short the guys were chanting “kiss kiss kiss” and she turns and says “I don’t do grills” yess I spelled that right lol.

KD:  What has been the most time consuming or mentally challenging research you have done for a book?

ELLE:  I think for Kira’s book because it’s set a lot in Japan and spans back 20 plus years. There is a lot of folklore and things that has changed during the timeframe and I wanted to get it right. I loved it!

KD:  What does an average day for you consist of? What is your writing schedule like?

ELLE:  I get up, get my Goob, aka my 14 yr old off to school and then get online. After that I go over what I’ve written and try to write. Try being the key sometimes. I turn my playlist on, which is rock. My choice of music freaks people out, because they look at me and see my choice of music lol. I love love love rock. ☺

KD:  Please tell us about your newest release.

ELLE:  Kira’s Warriors is book 4 in the Ravens of War. She’s like all my other heroines, a fierce woman who is worthy of two men lol. Garrick and Thane are both demi-gods created by Zeus who were sent as protectors only to find she wasn’t quite 100% human. It’s action packed and full of lots of the other Ravens as well as a steamy read ☺

KD:  Do you have a current work in progress? Can you tell us about it?

ELLE:  I just finished His Perfect Wolf, book 2 in The Mystic Wolves series. I still have to edit and submit to my publisher, but I really love it. It’s the follow up to Accidentally Wolf and Niall’s story. I’m also working on a self-pub that I plan to release on March 16th called SmokeJumper. SmokeJumper is about a Native American who is a smokejumper which is a specialized firefighter who is called back to his hometown by his grandfather. Of course he’s much more than just an ordinary man, he’s also an elemental. I love my paranormal romance and of course all my stories are steamy reads <3

KD:  What is something that your readers might not know about you?

ELLE:  I am a clean-freak. I spend 6-8 hours once a week cleaning my house one room at a time. Everything has a place in my house and I am very organized. My closets are all color coordinated with each person having a specific hanger color lol. Yes, I said I am a freak lol ☺

Personal Message From Elle:

I am a total open book and love to talk to people. If you have a question I try to answer as honestly as possible (of course some things are too personal), but I will do my best. Ask away people <3

BLURB

Kira’s Warriors

Kira lived the life of a pampered princess of a wealthy Japanese man who mourned the loss of his son, and missing wife. She’d been given everything a girl could want, but nobody was allowed close enough to love or hurt her. All that changed when her life was threatened and he hired the Ravens as her security.

Thane and Garrick never expected to find their Fated, let alone that she’d be touched by a god. The legend of the Kitsune was steeped in mystery, but they’d need all the help they could get to save their Fated from the god who possessed her brother. They’d need to travel into the deepest levels of hell, and fight the Shinigami to save her and her brother.

Kira realizes Thane and Garrick would give up their own lives to give her the family she’d never had. She would fight to hold onto the best things she could ever ask for, her warriors.

CAUTION FOR 18+ READERS
EXCERPT:

Thane stood, Kira’s juices coating his lips and chin.

Garrick watched her pull Thane to her, trailing her tongue against the seam of his lips. “Goddess, I love how firm your mouth is,” Kira said.

“I love how you taste.” Thane licked his lips. “Do you like how you taste, kitten?”

Turning her face to him, Garrick saw the blush she couldn’t hide. Her eyes were cloudy with desire. He smoothed his hand down her flat stomach, loving how wet and silky she got, tight like a fist around them. He swore nothing had ever felt better. Nothing ever would.

The bed dipped behind them, but he couldn’t take his eyes off Kira. He sucked in a swift breath, trying to remember where he wanted to be was inside his Fated’s body. She mesmerized him with her beauty.

“Kira, climb up here,” Thane said.

Garrick helped her maneuver around to face Thane. His best friend held his arms out while Kira crawled up the big bed like the kitten they called her. He groaned at the sight of her perfect ass as she moved on all fours toward Thane, her pussy playing a game of peek-a-boo with him. Her cream from the orgasm still coated her thighs.

He waited until she was positioned over Thane and watched her slide down, taking him inside, before he moved behind her. Garrick could be patient.

“I need you, too, G. I want you both, hard and fast. I need to feel you inside me when I come, and I want to do that around you, surrounded by my warriors.” Kira groaned, moving up and down on Thane.

Garrick slipped his fingers between Thane and her, testing how wet she was, seeing how ready she truly was. Her slickness coated his fingers. Their girl was perfect.

Thane pulled Kira down, taking control of her movements while Garrick ran his hands over her backside. He carefully prepared her for him, inserting one finger at a time in her rear channel. He made sure to add lube before adding a second finger. She gasped and thrust back against him as if she wanted more.

“Easy, Kira. You need to let me make sure you’re ready.” Garrick grit his teeth at the feelings Thane was sharing.

She pushed back again, her hips swiveling. “I’m more than ready.”

The noises she made were reassuring.

He had three fingers deep inside, scissoring them while Thane held Kira in place. Garrick used his powers to add more lubricant, and then pulled his fingers back.

A generous coating was applied to his dick as he placed the head against the puckered opening. “Hold her open for me, Thane,” Garrick said between clenched teeth.

The first inch slipped in, and she tightened around his cock. Both he and Thane fought for control, not wanting to injure her.

When he was seated fully inside, he held completely still, his breath sawing out like he’d run ten miles. The spiral path opened up, allowing them into Kira’s thoughts. It was like coming home to Garrick. He sucked in air, trying to remember when he’d ever felt so extremely satisfied.

She giggled.

“What are you laughing at, woman?” Thane asked.

“Are you hearing his thoughts? He’s satisfied and he isn’t even moving.”

Straddling Thane’s legs, Garrick swatted Kira’s ass, a light tap meant to tease, not hurt, causing her rounded flesh to quiver and her ass to tighten even further. “I think our Fated liked that, Thane.”

Garrick pulled back, his hands gripping her slim hips, and set up a slow rhythm. He and Thane worked in counterpoint. One of them had their dick buried deep inside her heat at a time, while the other pulled back.

Sweat covered him, even with his ability to regulate his body temperature. A light sheen coated her body.

“I’m not gonna last much longer, G.”

Garrick wrapped one arm around Kira’s chest, pulling her shoulders back into him, granting Thane access to her clit. “Play with her clit, Thane. Make her come.” Without another word, his friend reached between Kira’s thighs. Her clit was so hard and swollen, it wouldn’t take but a few strokes to get her off. Hell, he was so ready it wouldn’t take him but a few strokes, but first, they wanted to make Kira come.

Her hips bucked, and she threw her head back. “Oh, oh, y—yes,” Kira hissed.

A heartbeat later, her orgasm struck, clamping down on them like a wild convulsion. Their strokes increased in speed, becoming rough and uncontrolled. He flicked Thane a look, naked need written on his face, and with a nod, they both let go.

Garrick groaned. The knowledge Thane was as lost to sensation as he was pushed him even closer to the edge. Kira’s moans joined theirs, sending delight through him knowing she was already climbing the peak again. With every stroke into her ass or pussy, she whimpered.

The air was thick with their combined scents. The smell of Kira’s arousal permeated the room. Every breath he took, he smelled Kira, building pressure in his balls, filling him with the need to come.

“Ah, fuck, I’m gonna come.” Garrick groaned.

A bead of sweat trickled down Thane’s temple. “Me, too, kitten. Come for us one more time. Squeeze our cocks.” Thane started hammering in and out of her pussy.

Whether it was the raw words or the wild movements of the man beneath her that pushed Kira over, Garrick couldn’t care less. The moment she started to come, her greedy little pussy and ass began pulsing around Thane and him, and they, too, fell over the edge. He roared out his pleasure, while Thane swore in several languages. Garrick’s balls drew up, full of semen, his seed spurting from his dick like it never wanted to quit. In perfect sync, Thane released, his voice equally hoarse by the time he was spent.

ASA mini-series Episode 3: First Date vs First Kiss

ASA Mini-series Episode 3: First Date vs First Kiss

Lacey stepped in front of the mirror looking at herself with a critical eye. She wore a yellow mini skirt with a white tank top. Her long golden brown hair was in a ponytail. She added a little more eye shadow that made her hazel eyes look green. She decided on a red lipstick. Not bad. She didn’t have Bay’s body or Caroline’s exotic looks, but she was at least pretty.

Someone knocking on her door pulled her away from the mirror. She went to answer it. Blayne was standing on the other side. His blond hair was slicked back and his blue eyes sparkled like jewels at her.

“Hi.” She smiled up at him.

“Hi. You look beautiful.” His eyes traveled her body and came back to rest on her lips.

She blushed. “Let me grab my purse.” She walked over to her bed and picked up her purse.

“Where’s Bay and Caroline. I thought all three of you would be together getting ready for this party.”

Lacey laughed. “Actually we were. You just missed them by ten minutes. They went on ahead to the party.”

“Was Bay alone? Was Trevon with her?” He asked with concern. He didn’t like his friend hitting on his sister all the time. Trevon was too mature for Bay. She needed someone more her age and less experienced.

“No, Trevon didn’t come by. She was with Caroline.”

“Good.” He felt an instant relief.

Lacey just shrugged. Bay would date whoever she wanted whether her brother approved or not. But that was something Bay and Blayne would have to deal with. It was times like this she was glad she didn’t have to worry about having her brother at school with her.

*****

He was watching from the darkened corner. Lights were turned down low. The music was loud and blasting hard. Dancers were gyrating on the dance floor. None of that interested him. He was waiting. It seemed like he had always been waiting. Then, she walked in and it was like she brought the sunlight with her.

Rigs watched as Lacey walked over to the refreshment table. Blayne got her a glass of some kind of punch. They were talking and laughing. She seemed happy. Did he have any right to interfere? Then he saw her searching the dance floor and around the room. She was looking for something or someone. He stepped out of the shadows and her eyes locked with his. A lovely blush rose to her cheeks making her eyes stand out even more. Oh yes, he was most definitely going to interfere.

He made his way across the room directly to her. He could not take his eyes off of her lovely face. She was only seventeen but she was already shapely like a full grown woman. She didn’t have curves like Bay or the athletic build like Caroline. But he much preferred Lacey’s gentle curves, sweet smile, and her scent. Her scent was a big draw for him. His species the Gammons had heightened senses. No one smelled as good as Lacey.

Blayne put an arm over Lacey’s shoulder and glared at his friend. “Hey.”

“Hey.” Rigs answered back. His eyes remained on Lacey. “Do you want to dance?”

“She’s with me man.” Blayne looked like he was going to hit something, or someone.

“Is dancing not allowed among friends?” Rigs raised an eyebrow.

Crap! Lacey had never been more uncomfortable in all her life. The way they were both glaring at one another it looked like they were about to fighting. She didn't want that to happen. She had to diffuse the situation. “It’s okay Blayne, one dance with Rigs then you get to dance with me the rest of the time.”

Blayne did not look happy about it, but the knowledge that he would have the rest of the time with her eased some of his tension. “Fine. One dance.” He took her punch from her and sat both punch glasses on the table so that he could keep an eye on Rigs.

Rigs held out his hand for Lacey. She slowly put her hand in his and felt in instant spark run up her arm. This was the first time that Rigs had ever touched her.

He led her out onto the dance floor. There was a fast song playing but Rigs had already talked to the DJ ahead of time. Sometimes it was good to know a lot of people. As soon as the DJ saw Rigs on the dance floor he ended the fast song and put on something a lot slower and rhythmic.

Rigs pulled her into his arms. He kept a small amount of distance between them though he wanted to pull her tight against him. He was trying to show her that he could display restraint.

“Why did you want to dance with me?” Lacey was confused. Rigs had never asked her to dance before at any of the parties their gang had attended in the past.

“I wanted a chance to hold you.”

“You never wanted to before.” She wasn't trusting his sudden interest in her.

“I have always wanted to hold you, be close to you. But I was stupid and allowed a lot of dumb reasons keep me from it.” He admitted leaning down inhaling her delicious scent.

“I’m dating Blayne now.” Her voice was breathy when she said it.

“I know, but that doesn’t mean you can’t date more than one person. I want to be that other person Lacey.”

She shook her head. “I don’t want to come between you guys. You have been good friends for a long time. If I date both of you there will be tension and it could mess up your friendship.”

He danced her further away to a spot with less lighting and fewer people. “You aren’t his girlfriend yet. I have already told him I was going to fight for you.”

He did? Lacey’s heart was pounding so fast she thought it would come out of her chest. He was saying all the things she had always dreamed of him saying. But he was saying them too late. It was too late wasn’t it?

“Rigs.” She didn’t say anything else because he his head bent down and then he kissed her. It was soft and gentle at first, then he pulled her fully against him and deepened the kiss. Wow! So this was kissing? He was good, real good. Then all thoughts left her as she got lost in his kiss.

Rigs was thrilled to finally have the girl of his dreams in his arms. He lifted her up making her feet leave the floor. She dangled there in his arms as he continued to kiss her. He carried her further away from the busy dance floor and out the back door. He had planned this and scouted ahead so he knew where to go. They were outside behind the building in the little alley. It wasn't well lit and it was night time. There was no one there watching them.

Lacey’s eyes were closed and she moaned with a strange need inside. A cool breeze caressed her skin making her shiver. It was a few seconds before she realized they were no longer inside the dorm. She tried to push away but he wouldn’t release her completely. It was a good thing because she was trembling with so much emotion she didn’t think her legs would hold her.

“You can’t kiss me.” She turned her head when he tried to continue. He held her immobile but he wasn’t hurting her. He knew if he released her right then she would run right back inside to Blayne.

“I have waited a long time to kiss you. I don’t plan to stop any time soon.”

“Why now? I am dating Blayne.”

“We both know there is something between us. I have denied it for far too long. But I don’t want to deny it anymore.”

She felt torn. She really cared about Blayne and liked him a lot. But she had always been attracted to Rigs. Kissing him had meant the world to her. It was so much better than all the fantasies that she had had over the years. But could she trust her feelings? What if he suddenly changed his mind and left her for someone more experienced? She didn’t think she could take the heartbreak that was surely to come. She also didn’t want to be the one to break Blayne’s heart. She hadn’t given him a chance really and he deserved a chance. She was just too scared that she would lose herself in Rigs. It was too big a risk. She felt a little irritated too. Rigs paid no attention to her for years then all of a sudden Blayne's in the picture and Rigs has a change of heart.

She shook her head. “What do you expect me to do, stop seeing Blayne because all of a sudden you finally noticed that I exist?”

He caressed her cheek with his fingertips. “I have always noticed you honey. Give me a chance to prove it to you.”

“I won’t hurt Blayne just to satisfy your sudden interest.” She pushed him away and he released her.

“Date both of us. You go on a few dates with Blayne. Go on a few with me. Then decide who you want to be with.”

“I don’t know…” She was so confused. Part of her wanted to say yes but then she felt guilty about Blayne. She was supposed to be dating him.

“Do you want to date him?” Blayne asked from behind them. They had not heard him approach.

She could feel the heat rise to her face. Had Blayne seen her kiss Rigs? She couldn’t see Blayne’s eyes so she didn’t know. This was the most awkward position she had ever been in. She tried to remember what Blayne just asked her.

“Blayne?” She took a step away from Rigs.

“Do you want to date Rigs? Be honest with me.” Blayne asked moving closer to stand in front of her.

“It was something I had always wanted before.” She admitted.

“What about now?”

“I don’t know. It could simply be a crush or it could be something more. I just don’t know.” Her eyes pleaded with him to understand and to not hate her for it.

“Date him then. But I am fighting for you too.” He looked over at Rigs. “And tonight is my date.” He put a hand on the small of her back and walked her back towards the door. Lacey glanced back at Rigs and found him smiling. Why was he looking so pleased with himself? She shook her head and focused on Blayne. He deserved her undivided attention.

Rigs watched Lacey leave with Blayne heading to the back door of the dorm. She may have left with the other guy but she was going to be thinking about him all night. He was about to head back in himself but just as Blayne reached for the door handle, a bright light blinded him and the door to the building exploding outward throwing Blayne and Lacey about ten feet away. He felt something strike his forehead but he didn’t care about that. Lacey wasn’t moving and he felt his heart stop beating for a moment in fear.

“Lacey!”

Hope you enjoyed this episode.  Let me know what you think.

ASA mini-series Episode 2: Game On!

Episode 2: Game On!

What the hell just happened? Rigs stood there stunned. His best friend was with the girl he … Oh God he was in love with her. He knew he had strong feelings for Lacey but until the moment he realized that someone else was in the way, he hadn’t wanted to name those feelings. He was in love with Lacey but she was dating Blayne.

“What’s your problem?” Caroline asked from behind him. She had come back his way when she noticed him staring after Lacy.

“Nothing.” He turned to walk away but Caroline grabbed his arm to halt him. “What is your problem?”

Caroline glared at him. “I have watched that girl pine over you for years. But you did nothing. You had your chance to go for it with Lacey but you refused to act. She finally has someone who thinks the sun rises and sets around her. He will treat her the way she deserves. I’m not going to let you mess that up for her.”

“Why do you care? Are you jealous?”

Caroline let him go and stared in the direction that Lacey and Blayne had walked. “I admit I am a little envious and you know why. It’s not because I want you or anything. We both know we were not right for each other. We had been new to the academy and fell into an easy sexual relationship. Neither of us wanted it to be more. We didn’t love each other. Then Lacey came here. There was no point trying keep what we had when it meant nothing.

“We both got what we wanted out of that relationship. We had some good times and we managed to keep our friendship afterwards. I just don’t understand how you could be all for this Blayne thing.”

“I want Lacey to be happy.”

He snorted. “Really? You act like you don’t even like her most of the time.” “You know better than anyone else why I act the way I do. Despite how badly I act sometimes...okay most of the time, I care about her.”

“Do you think Blayne is right for her? He could break her heart or use her or something. I may have realized my feelings too late, but I won’t stand by and let someone hurt her. Even if he is one of my best friends.”

Caroline sighed. “Come on, let’s go see if the others want to go get some ice cream. At least then you won’t be worrying over what was happening.”

Rigs was surprised. Caroline presented on the outside a tough exterior, but he knew that deep down she was caring. It was one of the things that had appealed to him, besides the sex. But she had more going on than anyone knew. Her home life was abusive which was why she never visited. “Why are you helping me?

“I’m helping Lacey. She deserves to be with someone who loves her. This thing with Blayne is new. Neither of them have fallen head over heels for each other, yet. So if you are genuine about your feelings, you might still have a chance.”

“I’m grade-A genuine.”

“Oh honey, don’t I know it.” They both laughed.

*****

Blayne glared at his friends across the table from them. He had brought Lacey out for ice cream only to have the whole gang show up. Worst date ever.

“So, what are you doing tonight?” Caroline asked Lacey.

“I…have a date.” She glanced at Blayne who gave her a big smile. Out of nowhere Blayne had started calling her up over the summer break. Now he wants to date. She was flattered but surprised. Tonight would be her first official date with him.

“Oh, well I was planning to go to the Balen Dorms tonight. They are planning a big Welcome Back bash party. They have a live band playing and everything.” Caroline stole fries from Rigs’ plate. He gave her a glare but she ignored it.

“A party sounds like fun.” Bay said excitedly. “Come on, you guys can change your date location to this party. It may be the last time we all get to party together since Rigs and Trevon will be graduating soon.” She did her cute little pouting face.

Blayne rolled his eyes at his sister. He always had a hard time saying no to her. “Fine. We’ll drop by for a little bit.”

“Yay!” Bay did her happy dance in her seat drawing the attention of the other men in the ice cream shop.

Lacey wished she was a knockout like Lacey. Maybe she would have dated more than she had and maybe Rigs would have noticed her. She scooped a spoonful of vanilla ice cream and raised it to her mouth. “Mmm…” She heard a throat clear and looked up across the table and found Rigs watching her intently. The look was hot and intense. He had never looked at her like that before. She felt her body respond. Her nipples tightened and who whole body felt hot. She blushed and quickly looked away.

“Don’t you want to be my date Bay?” Trevon asked putting his arm around her shoulders and giving her a squeeze.

“No.” Both Bay and Blayne said at the same time.

Everyone laughed. Trevon was always asking Bay out. She always refused. He would laugh and play it off like some big joke. She would smile or say something snappy like when pigs fly. It was their thing. It was cute. But Lacy had a feeling that Trevon secretly liked Bay. What guy wouldn’t? But Blayne would kill his friend if he tried to date his sister. Trevon knew that too.

“Well, I have to meet with my academic counselor to discuss my advance classes.” Lacey motioned for Blayne, Bay and Trevon to get up.

“If your counselor is still Professor Jotham, he’s heading this way.” Caroline commented as she pointed to the door of the diner.

Lacey slid out of the booth and went over to greet Professor Jotham. Rigs watched as the older man touched Lacey lightly on her arm and motioned her over to a booth on the other side of the diner. When Lacey sat down across from the Professor, the man reached out and touched Lacey’s hand. He said something that made Lacey giggle.

“Did you see that?” Blayne asked. He had been watching the exchange between Lacey and the Professor too.

“Yes I did.” Rigs growled. He had heard rumors about Professor Jotham, that he liked to flirt with the young female students. Things just got a lot worse. Not only was he competing with Blayne for Lacey’s heart, now he had to compete with this lecherous older man. Surely she wasn’t falling for that slime ball?

“See what?” Bay asked confused.

“Professor Jotham is hitting on Lacey,” Caroline explained. She had watched the situation as well but sat back like she was bored of the whole thing. She would just pull Lacey aside later and tell her to watch herself. She knew a few girls who fell for Jotham’s charm.

“Really?” Bay tried to get up and get a better look but Lacey was on her way back to their table.

“Hey guys. I need to leave so I have time to complete some research for Professor Jotham before tonight.”

“I’ll pick you up at 7:30.” Blayne stood up and walked her to the door of the diner.

“Okay.” She was completely caught off guard when Blayne leaned down and gave her a quick kiss on the lips.

Rigs was gripping the edge of the table. Seeing other men touch and kiss Lacey was making him see red. He might have ripped the table up if it hadn’t been for Caroline. She jabbed him in the ribs, hard.

“Easy there killer. What did that table ever do to you?”

Rigs released the table and breathed slowly. Blayne returned and they all watched as Professor Jotham left the Diner. Rigs began to feel more like himself again.

He looked around the table at all his friends. Soon they would graduate and all go their separate ways. He was going to miss them. Despite Blayne trying to take the girl he loved away from him, he was going to even miss him.

“Want to play a game of sonic football?” He asked his friends. The guys left together to go play their game while Caroline and Bay sat at the table glaring at one another.

“What is your problem?” Bay asked.

“Nothing. How about you?”

“You are trying to break up Blayne and Lacey. Why?”

“I’m not trying to break them up. Why are you trying to get them together?”

“They are perfect for each other.”

“Define perfect.”

“They are both smart, like the same things, are the same age, and are both nice people.”

“Where’s the fire, the heat, the passion?”

“They are only seventeen and eighteen years old. The passion needs to wait a little while longer.” Bay was frowning at her friend. Why was Caroline acting like this?

“Teenagers are passionate about everything at that age. The only thing I have seen Lacey passionate over is her smelly art. What is Blayne passionate about?”

“I don’t pay attention to what my brother is passionate about. Do you think Rigs is passionate enough for Lacey?”

“Yes I do. I think Lacey is the only thing Rigs has ever been passionate over.”

“Then why hasn’t he made a move before now?”

“Because he is a boy and he is stupid. It took seeing Lacey with another guy for him to realize how much she means to him.”

“Why do you care about Rigs? You guys used to be together. Doesn’t it bother you to think of him wanting someone else?”

“No, not at all. Rigs and I were never meant to be anything more than friends. There was no love between us. He definitely did not have passion for me.”

“But it’s not right that he decides he wants her now that my brother is dating her. I don’t want my brother hurt.”

“I get it I do. I don’t want Blayne hurt either. But it is up to Lacey to choose who she wants to be with.”

“You really think Rigs loves her?” Bay was a sucker for true love.

“That boy is hopelessly in love with Lacey and has been since the first time he laid eyes on her.”

Bay sighed. “You won’t interfere? It will be Lacey’s decision?”

“Me? Interfere?” Caroline asked incredulous. Bay narrowed her eyes at her. “Fine. I won’t interfere. But that means you can’t either.”

“Agreed.”

*****

The guys were done with the sonic football. They headed back to their dorms to shower and change for later that night. Rigs walked up behind Blayne.

“When did you decide you wanted to date Lacey?”

Blayne didn’t look back at his friend. “I have always wanted to date Lacey. But I gave you ample opportunity to make your move. You never did.”

“I wasn’t ready before, now I am. I want her and I am letting you know right now that I plan to pursue her.” Rigs stood facing Blayne with his legs spread out and his arms crossed over his chest.

Blayne glared at Rigs. “Well, I’m letting you know that I am not stepping down or backing off. I am going to fight for her.” He crossed his arms over his chest.

Trevon stood there looking very uncomfortable. “Hey guys, I’ll head on to the room.” He walked away quickly.

“So what’s the rules to the game?” Rigs asked.

Blayne raised an eyebrow. “This isn’t sonic football. We both date Lacey. We don’t interfere with each other’s one on one time. Then we let Lacey decide who she wants.” Blayne told him.

“Agreed.” Rigs nodded his head at Blayne. “Also, we both do whatever it takes to keep Lacey away from Professor Jotham.”

“Agreed. May the best man win.”

“I will.” Rigs told him with a cocky smile as he walked off.

Excerpt from Remathyst
Dragon of Dragonose

Book Four

By Alice Brown & Lady V

Doc retired to his private quarters, which was connected to the back of the medical unit. He tried to push the upcoming mission and everything surrounding it to the back of his mind, but it wasn’t working. Guilt like he’d never experienced before plagued him. As he lay on his bed, curled on his side, he grabbed an extra pillow to cling to, wishing he had a mate to hold instead.

What would it be like to have a female for times like these? Would she understand what he was going through and hold him tightly, assuring him everything was going to work out? Would she be willing to work at his side day in and day out, caring for their people?

As these questions spun around in his head, he sank deeper into depression. He had all but given up on ever finding his mate. Wherever she was, he was sure he would never come in contact with her. He worked long hours and never had time for extended leave, so how could he find her? Yes, the king would grant his request in a heartbeat, but he would never make the request. He knew to do so would leave his fellow man without the health care they deserved.

Not only was he a damn fine medical doctor, he also was one of the very few people on Dragonose who had natural healing abilities through their dragons. King Thoran and Blain’s mate, Natasha, possessed the abilities but to a different extent. Now Dominic’s mate, Meldamiriel, as an Omega elf, also had some healing abilities. Wow, what would it be like to have a mate with those abilities? Truth be told, he was a little envious of both Blain and Dominic. Both men’s mates were stunning, sweet, and had unique powers. All the traits he was looking for in a mate.

Finally, the last twenty-four hours caught up with him, and he fell into an uneasy sleep.

ASA Episode 1: The End of Summer

EPISODE 1

When will Summer Break end? Lacey asked herself as she put away her books on her shelf. She waved at some of her friends as they passed her room and lugged their suitcases down the hallway. Mostly everyone she knew was still at home visiting with their families.

Lacey would have gone home except that she was taking extra courses this summer so that she would be able to skip a grade. Her professors had suggested it because they felt she was working at a higher level. If it meant she got to graduate minor academy that much sooner, she was all for it. Besides, her parents, little brother Finn and her Grandmother had already gone to a tropical getaway without her. She had no where else to be.

“Are you coming?” Her roommate and best friend Bay Miles asked. Bay stood at the door with her white blond hair hanging down her back in a long thick braid. Her pale blue eyes glittered with excitement. Lacey envied Bay’s golden looks. There wasn’t a guy in the academy that could pass Bay by without admiring her. She was everything Lacey wasn’t.

Lacey was a little bit on the heavier side. Not fat but not model thin like Bay or her other friend Caroline. But Lacey was also full human which meant she had to constantly watch what she ate where as her friends were mixed or some other species, which usually meant they had a high metabolism. They could eat anything that they wanted without the worries. So not fair!

Lacey glanced in the mirror at her appearance. She was pretty despite not being super thin. She had long brown hair and hazel eyes. In her mind though she saw average. She was average weight, average height for a human, average brown hair, and plain brown eyes. She thought she was cute but nothing exotic or special.

“Lacey Venus Clark!” Bay asked again with frustration.

“I’m coming!” God she hated whenever anyone called her by her middle name. Who the in the universe would name their kid after an old Goddess? Her parents, that’s who. She quickly pulled her hair up into a long ponytail and turned to follow Bay out.

It was a beautiful morning. The sun was shining bright and there was a very pleasant breeze blowing across her bare arms. She was wearing a pair of jeans and a short-sleeved t-shirt. She shook her head at Bay. Even during Summer Break she insisted on wearing the usual school uniform skirt. It came down to right about her knees and showcased her long legs. Yeah, If Lacey had those legs she’d show them off too.

“Look! There’s Blayne, Trevon, and Rigs. Hey guys!” Bay yelled and waved her hands to get their attention. She actually attracted a lot of other attention from the guys pasing by.

Lacey tried not to look in the direction where her other friends were waiting. She really did. But she could not stop her eyes from seeking out the hottest guys in minor academy. They were also older, almost ready to graduate and move on to Graduate Academy. How she ended up being friends with them Lacy had no clue. Maybe it was pure luck.

The older ones would soon go off to Graduate Academy. After two years there they would get their commission to work in the Alliance fleet. That’s what Lacey wanted more than anything. That’s why she had worked her ass off to move up a grade.

She watched as other girls passed her friends lingering to look their fill. Some even stopped and flirted. She held her breath as Rigs turned and looked in her direction quickly before turning back and flirting back with the girls. She would do anything to have Rigs flirt with her. But he never saw her for anything other than a seventeen-year-old kid.

She walked beside Bay as she stopped to talk to her brother Blayne. Blayne Miles was Bay’s twin brother. They were eighteen years old. Blayne, like his sister, was all kinds of blond hair blued eyed goodness. Then there was Trevon Fuller the jock. He stood there proudly displaying his muscles wearing no shirt again, which was against the Academy’s rules. He wasn’t much of a follower of rules. He was also the oldest student in minor academy at twenty-one years of age. Then there was Rigs.

Rigs Lawson, nineteen-year-old heartthrob. The boy Lacey had been in love with for forever. But he didn’t seem to notice her at all. Lately he had been acting strange, barely talking to her and never looking at her directly. It felt like he was pushing her away and that hurt.

“Hi Lacey.” Blayne greeted her with one of his gorgeous and perfect smiles. His light blue eyes flared with some kind of emotion that she had never seen before.

“Hi Blayne, Trevon, Rigs. Did you just get back?” She asked fighting not to look over at Rigs. She felt her heart racing faster. Hopefully no one else noticed it.

“Yeah me and Bay came back early. It was boring there.” Blayne told her moving to stand closer to her. “Did you stay here all summer by yourself?”

She shrugged her shoulders. “Yep, I got a lot done.” She turned to look at Rigs but he was starting at Blayne for some reason.

Lacey turned to Trevon. “What about you? I thought you would be somewhere tropical hitting on a bunch of graduate academy girls.”

Trevon snorted. “Me and Rigs were halfway there when we got the call that our last two classes were incomplete. We have to come back and take them all over again and get our grade point average up or we won’t graduate.” Trevon told her.

She couldn’t help it. She looked up and her eyes caught on Rigs's beautiful dark blue eyes with the strange silver rim circling them. The silver rim around his eyes was common for all Gammons and Rigs was as Gammon as you could get. He was tall at six feet eight inches and had red and brown hair. He was impressive to say the least.

“Where’s Caroline?” Rigs asked looking away. He couldn’t keep looking at Lacey without reaching for her or blabbing out loud how he felt. Did she know how she looked at that moment with the sun shining down on her hair bringing out strands of gold? She seemed clueless to how others saw her. He liked that about her. Fact was, he liked her more than he should. But he realized over the summer that life was changing and his time with Lacey would be up soon. He wanted her to know how he felt. He needed to find the perfect time and place for that. Preferably somewhere where they could be alone.

Lacey almost felt like he had slapped her when he ignored her and asked about her other friend. Rigs and Caroline had dated once. It was way before Lacey came to the Academy and met Rigs. Bay had told her that things didn’t work out for them and they broke up. As if saying her name had made her materialize, Caroline was suddenly there.

“Hey misfits! What’s going on?” Caroline asked flipping her bright red hair back behind her shoulder. It wasn’t as long as hers or Bay’s. But it was unique which fit Caroline’s personality perfectly.

“We’re just figuring that out with everyone coming back early. What about you?” Bay asked her.

“Well I had nothing else waiting for me at home so I got me a job and stayed with a girl I met. Turns out that my full scholarship didn’t come through. I have enough to pay for tuition and books but I can’t live on campus. The girl I met over Summer Break is going to let me rent out a room in her apartment. So you know what that means?” Caroline raised her eyebrows up and down.

Trevon laughed, “It means that it’s party time at Caroline’s!”

Caroline laughed. “Don’t you know it. What about you nerd girl? I didn’t see much of you this summer.”

“I was taking extra classes and studying.” Lacey told her.

“Of course you were. All you care about is school.” Caroline commented.

“Hey, I took those classes so that I can skip a grade and graduate early.” She defended herself.

“All that work so that you get to graduate early and be sent off to Graduate Academy for even more boring studies. Ugh.” Caroline made a face that had everyone laughing except Lacey. She blushed and turned her head away. Sometimes Caroline was a jerk.

Blayne sensed her being upset and put an arm around her shoulders. “Don’t listen to Caroline. She has to keep failing just to stay in the Academy so she doesn’t graduate and have to get a real job.”

“Hey! I resemble that remark!” Caroline said with a half smile.

Lacey breathed easier having the tension leave her. Blayne was good at easing tensions. She looked up at him and gave him a dazzling smile.

“You want to go get some ice cream?” Blayne asked her.

“Sure, are we all going?” She looked around but everyone else was walking off except for Rigs. He stood there watching them.

Blayne turned her and started them walking. “Naw. They can get their own ice cream. Catch ya later Rigs!” He called out without looking back. He could feel Rig’s eyes boring into his back. Too bad, Rigs had three years to make his move on Lacey. All this time Blayne stood back watching and waiting. But it never happened. Now was the time. He had always liked Lacey and she deserved to have someone that would take good care of her. He was just that person.
