People laugh when I try to explain Canada’s vast climate and geography:

cordpm:

castiel-for-king:

Like how in Manitoba, we have sand dunes in the Spruce Woods Provincial park

image image image

They just kind of hang out in the middle of the prairies.

Then there’s the desert in Drumheller, Alberta, complete with wild cacti:

image image image

And then there are the rain forests in British Columbia:

image image image

…where you can find cute little fluffies like the Spirit Bear.

And then of course we have the tundra we’re so famous for.  It looks a little different in the summer though:

image image

but  in the winter it looks just like you think it would

image image

Then, of course, the Rockies and all their many, many lakes

image image

There’s the fjords in Newfoundland

image image

Our boreal forests look particularly stunning in the fall

image image

We even have beaches…really nice ones too!

image image image

…anyway…I think it’s really cool. It’s not all igloos and snow drifts, you know!

Will trade soul for citizenship

And that’s all without even mentioning any part of Québec, aka “la belle province”. Like:

The south shore of the majestic St-Laurent (Le Bas St-Laurent):

Or anywhere in the Charlevoix region (this is Baie St-Paul):

Or any of the Old City in Québec:

Or Montréal in general (pictured here: the Plateau in autumn):

There’s so much more. :)

At the end of the day though, the lesson is always that there is more love than hate in the world. The hate feels more noticeable sometimes, but speaking personally, I’ve always found that there are more nice people than awful people. For every person who threatens to out you or come to your house and do whatever to you, there will be thirty lovely people outraged on your behalf and they’re the ones who matter.

I love you people. Thanks for sticking with me. It means the world to me. <33333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333

Why did Mrs Hudson think it was necessary to come into Sherlock’s flat and make him sad first thing in the morning, anyway?

I think she was trying to gauge if he was okay. Except then when he refused to actually talk about it, she dug in a little. I felt so sorry for him in that scene, though, with her just rubbing it relentlessly in.

Also, I’m not entirely sure how the invitation thing works, but you can request invite codes to send out. At the time I requested my 1 I thought the page said that I could request up to 10 codes. Don’t know if that’s EVER or just per request.

The last time I tried to request invitations was over a year ago and the site said they weren’t doing that right now, and when I checked again just now, it still said that. I’ve only ever had the one invitation to send, and I sent it early into my days of having an account.

Awful that you have to do this, RPF doesn’t normally float my boat but did enjoy your work as i always do. So glad I’ve got an account. If we start censoring, surely that’ll make us as bad as Nazis or Isis. I’ll back you in the right for free speech

The right to free speech depends on what country the website in question is domiciled! This isn’t an international right at all, though it is in Canada, where I’m posting from. Thanks for this, either way! This is just so ugly and unnecessary. I’m not in the SPN fandom at all, but I remember when it first came around and so, SO many people shipped “j-squared” rather than the brothers, because incest = ew. This was before Castiel was on the show, I guess. I would say that in those days, the RPF ship was the more popular one! I don’t know if there was drama with people sending the actors links or sending various threats to the authors, but come on - this thing called fandom exists for a reason. We don’t expect to sit down next to the actors who play these characters and gossip, you know? We expect them to stay where they are and for us to stay where we are. This is one of the reasons why I don’t like or do twitter. Some walls should stay where they are, in my humble opinion.

I'm glad you're still gonna write part three. I love all your stories and your Freebatch fics were nothing but pure gold. Thank you again for writing them in the first place!

I’ve always said that I write what I feel I have to write, whether or not it’s something I think will be popular or loved or whatever - I mean, obviously I hope that it will be, but that doesn’t determine what I write, if that makes any sense? This is what I was planning to write next (in whatever order with the other sequel), and I wouldn’t ever change that because of this.

Thank you so much for saying that!!

No I don’t have one. I never had to because I don’t write myself. How does it work? A friend told me that you had to be invited or something ? X

Ok, I just had a look, and it looks like you do have to send in a thing to request an account. That page is here. I checked to see if I had any invitations to send, but I only ever had one (lame!!) and I used it a long time ago already, sadly. Maybe someone here with an account could help you out?

If you have an ao3 account and have an invitation you could send (look on your dashboard page), send cheris-hed and ask, would you?
