So, one of my bits of news is that I found a new apartment! This was a challenge in a few different...

So, one of my bits of news is that I found a new apartment! This was a challenge in a few different ways, but it’s now officially mine and I’m moving in July! Right now I live in what’s termed a 2.5 (Québec uses the European system), which is a studio but the kitchen is separate. It’s in a really great neighbourhood but it’s very small and it’s in a basement. By July I will have lived here for 2 years and 10 months, longer than I’ve lived anywhere since 2005 and earlier. My main goals were to stay central (I loathe suburbs - an opinion which frequently leaks into my fics!), get a 3.5 (a one-bedroom, just to have the privacy of a door!), and to not be in a basement any more. I’ve found a 4.5, which has TWO bedrooms, and it’s on a second storey with a balcony, bus routes and grocery stores nearby, and it’s hella exciting!! My rent will go up by about $100/month, which I was expecting, but I think I can just about swing it. I’ll also need to buy four big appliances at once (fridge, stove, washer, dryer), but I can get them pretty cheaply secondhand. It’s still going to be a big expense, but hopefully I’ll manage. I feel like for the first time in my life, I’m actually going to live like an actual adult. I’ve been doing the boho student life for a very, very long time now. This is really cool. :)
