The elf queen steals Loki’s *cough* sword.  A scene from I Bring the Fire.  (There is a free excerpt on Tumblr here).

Something I drew ages ago.

Tentative Cover For Warriors … I have to finish the series, I’m running out of colors. Seriously, though, critiques are welcome. Over at Kboards, the author central, they have told me I need to revise all of them. But I’m sticking to my brand until I finish the series. I’ll probably revise them a few times over the years to keep up with whatever is trendy. And since my stories cross genres—action, romance, paranormal, epic-fantasy—I suppose I could revise them about four times for maximum mileage. :-)

Maybe background texture is too intense?

Ugh. Actually, a lot of independent bookstores have been just plain out-and-out stupid. Do you know where about half of Amazon’s revenues come from? Indie authors. A couple of years ago, I was reading about a new independent bookstore owner, formerly trad published author … and you know who she was dissing? Indie authors. Smart move there!

Amazon also doesn’t have to be an indie bookstores enemy. They can use Amazon to sell their rare and hard to find used books across the country and world.

Anyway, I think small bookstores, with print on demand (POD) machines may have a comeback. Especially if they can do POD on cheaper paper with cheaper covers. I know the days of the 99 cent paperback are gone forever, but with cheaper paper and covers maybe the $3.99 paperback could return?
