YOU CAN READ THE ENTIRE I BRING THE FIRE SERIES FREE: I Bring the Fire is on Scribd, and they have a month long trial period. I had no idea. It’s 8.95/month if you stay on, but conceivably you could sign up, read all my books, and then move on. Errr … not that I’d encourage anyone to do that. They also have all of Neil Gaiman’s books as well. I’m going to check out other books that are on my to read list but not on my Kindle yet.

(Yes, they do pay authors for borrows).

Just sent Warriors to the Proofreader

Warriors Part V of I Bring the Fire just went to the proofreader—she who checks for grammar and such. I am on schedule for first week in August release. (Maybe even earlier).

Traditional publishing is 'no longer fair or sustainable', says Society of Authors

Traditional publishing is 'no longer fair or sustainable', says Society of Authors:

cgockel:

Chief executive of 9,000-member UK group argues that while ‘authors’ earnings are going down generally, those of publishers are increasing’

I definitely don’t believe everyone should self-publish, but this is a good reason why some people should.

Hey, frieeend. Got any book recommendations while we wait for part five? Because waiting hurts, but you are not obligated to hurry, because this is your life and readers do not own you. (You should probs read Neil Gaimans recent chewing out of a dude tryin

Warriors I Bring the Fire Part V should be out first week in August. I’m rereading the rough draft today, and then it will probably take a week or two to get it proof read and edited.

If you want to read more of my writing, and like romance, I’ve written a lot of fanfiction. Of particular interest to Loki fans would be Blue. It’s a Loki/Darcy fanfic, but beyond the romance it’s a musing on the Marvel Universe and Chaos. Also, you’d probably like The Snow Wife, a play on a Japanese folktale of a peasant and a snow goddess/spirit who fall in love. I’m pretty sure Yuki Onna was Loki … all the evidence points to it ;-).

As to book recommendations … congrats, Anon, you’ve prompted me to post a few I’ve been dawdling over. They’re here. In the paranormal category I love American Ghoul in particular, but enjoyed all of the books for reasons stated.

I read a wide range of fiction and non-fiction. Usually I read a non-fiction and a fiction story at the same time so I can hop back and forth between them depending on my mood. Right now my non-fiction book is Naked Statistics. It’s by the same author who wrote Naked Economics, which I love. I’ve read enough of Naked Statistics to recommend it. It’s as scintillating as the topic can be made. I do believe that a basic understanding of Economics and Statistics are a responsibility we all have as citizens. (Okay, hopping off my soap box now).
