Review on Into the Books!

Read the review on Into the Books.

"The Forbidden Man is a story that runs off smoothly despite being basically rather boring and sounds overly traced to a now well-known erotica trilogy. The character of Matt remembers so exasperating Christian Grey, (the characteristic of ice-blue eyes, a square jaw covered with a veil of beard, his thick brown hair ... who recall if not the principal deputy to fill the role of dark and handsome Jamesian? An exact copy of Matthew Bomer!). Same thing for Cristina, who is deliberately described by the author as strong and bold, but soon turns into some kind of Anastasia Steele, but without its special and unique verve. The plot meanders along some forty pages, but there is a need for further development of the same, which could be at least twice as much. Note also that the work of editing on the work was carried out in a fairly mediocre: there are a variety of errors and grammatical form. I believe that the author has not been able to develop fully and completely the plot and, most recently, there is an excessive use of the same adjective to describe a twenty-one quite dull and without her own personality. Two stars because I find it really interesting the basic idea, unfortunately missing a writing interesting and engaging."

Review on La Bella e il Cavaliere ♥

Read the review on La Bella e il Cavaliere.

"First episode of the Matt Staton's Agency series, The Forbidden Man is a promising and very, very tasty introduction.
Thanks to the first-person narrative, it takes little to take Cris's point of view, identifying with her as much to share her irresistible vitality. So I found myself involved in no time at all.
It is a summer afternoon, boring and sticky like so many others. Cristina was recruited by Flavia, the smaller cousin, as a consultant to make up. The girl was invited to a party and it is so revved up by not being able to decide the details of her look. Lucky her to have an older cousin like she!
Cristina, however, has her head elsewhere: Federico left and seems to have already forgotten her. Apart from the particular relationship, Cris miss him. The distractions in the summer were not slow to arrive and if they have ever gorgeous ice-blue eyes and a mischievous smile, who are we is Cris to resist?
The meeting between Ice Eyes (aka Matt Staton) and Cristina takes place at the home of her cousin, where there's a meeting with some clients of her uncle. The attraction is lightning and the two burn rapidly stages, though... and here I leave to you the pleasure of discovering what will happen.
Matt Staton is fascinating and especially resourceful. In the face of those who think the man in a suit and shirt as a mannequin. In front of him the hormones say "yuppidu"!
And we hope that in the coming episodes he is more "present" because I do not think my hormones and I will accept to stay high and dry. Of Matt, for now, it turns out just a little and my curiosity is skyrocketing.
Cris is the real star of this episode. Just twenty-one, has a decidedly feisty temper. Far from being inexperienced, she has to reveal who loves to tease and seduce, only that usually the guys who "hunts" are younger than Ice Eyes. Cris is not a helpless and innocent girl! Hurrah!
The game between the two is rather balanced and did not seem far-fetched. If there's one thing I hate is the stubborn tendency to love at first sight, but this is not the case: for the moment we are faced with a very strong attraction with the fears and uncertainties that a girl of twenty-one may have but nothing more. So when Cris has small hesitations and tries (unsuccessfully) to interpret the behavior and statements of Matt, I had the impression that it was quite natural. That is to say: that slight anxiety about the desire to hear or see a guy that I liked, I tried it too, though I was not at all in love, and do not think I'm the only one, right?
While reading I have not paid much attention, but on reflection I have noticed the versatility of Chiara Cilli: the writing in this episode is simple, fresh and tailored to the narrator. While making use of direct forms and almost conversational, narrative is supported and cared for. Environments (as it should be) are well described, albeit with a more dry than that of previous works. The secondary characters, from her grandmother to her aunt, are fairly outlined, although Cristina is the one that the reader has no way to know better.
The big, huge and significant flaw is that the shame of brevity, but it is an episode, right? And then I knew: no one has made any secret of the number of pages (only 42!), Then I should have expected...
Seduced and abandoned. Chiara has struck again.

Review on La tana di una booklover :D

Read the review on La tana di una booklover.

"It's a very hot and sticky summer day, the one in which Cristina knows Matt.
Sometimes the coincidences can really bring some nice surprises. Our protagonist was left home with the intention to help her cousin get ready for a party, but it is precisely in the little and demanding cousin's house who meets Matt.
The attraction that exists between the two is immediately apparent, and it is emphasized even more by the fact that the story is told from the point of view of the same Cristina. And she wants to be a leader in every way. A girl really good with men, anyway... and it was time! Maybe it will be fully credible, but it certainly is a big step forward compared to the usual cliché-type-o-Bella-Swan-Anastasia Steele.
But the most interesting part of this episode is... that does not happen at all what we would expect it to happen. Sure, Cris has many weapons, but also Matt is no joking, and it is a surprise to hear what Matt wants from her.
This first episode is absolutely well done, though... I can not wait to read the next one. The pages are few, but it certainly is an excellent first brick for this series.
Chiara Cilli, as I have already said, writes really well. The narrative is well built, and despite the brevity of this volume, the style is nice and well defined.
Obviously compared to The Lion's Promise, the situation is completely different, and I also appreciated the fact that the characters are outlined in a very different way than those who had met in the first novel, so the author also shows a good versatility.
As I said, I can not wait to read the next episode!
The erotic romance is not my thing, but I can not deny that this series intrigues me a lot and the story I was definitely intrigued."

Review on The Killer Rabbit Hole :)

Read the review on The Killer Rabbit Hole.

"Cristina Cabrisi is, as pointed out in the plot of the episode, a transgressive girl, it can be seen from the first pages of the book and from the small glimpses of her personality with which Cristina delight us during her flights of fancy.
The book opens with a diary page which explains how to Cristina suffer for the lack of what appears to be her boyfriend, Fabrizio.
This suffering is fast undermined at her cousin's home, Flavia, just before the preparations for her birthday party!
Here, in fact, you're taking an important meeting between the girl's father's colleagues and, in particular, a man with magnetic eyes, nicknamed "Ice Eyes", he manages to capture Cristina's attention.
I will not go on because being a episodes series I wouldn't risk to reveal all in a few lines and it do not seem right for the readers and not for the author!
Unfortunately, even though I adore Chiara and her style, this episode I liked least of her works that I could read.
The plot of this first appointment seemed perhaps too obvious and speeded up, some points (especially those pseudo spicy) in fact, were stretched, not rushed. Let me explain, Cristina sees Ice Eyes, they exchange a few words, what happens happens (I'd also have waited to include this situation) and then she already feels emotionally involved?
No... I do not think true!
Another thing that bothered me is the continuous want to reiterate Cristina of its status as dominant woman, accustomed to hunt and tease men, and then work, it did not seem realistic that Ice Eyes, after less than two seconds, and without knowing the person in front of him, offering a job to a perfect stranger!
Apart from these painful notes and a few mistakes here and there safely passable, I must say that the story is captivating.
Beautiful end, a chat really fun, in fact Chiara, I'll offer my congratulations to the closing of the episode, a ploy intelligent and sympathetic; also amazing the way you write, as always fresh and never pedantic.
Very well detailed Cristina's personality and the description of the environments and the various characters, perhaps the only one who still do not have a clear idea is Matt Staton but is right, and I hope Chiara will make him justice in the next episodes!
If I can give you some advice to a reader, you stretch more certain situations without letting them fall through the pages as if they were rained down from the sky!
Ultimately, however, a good start, perhaps the expedient of episodes limits a little Chiara's creativity but I trust in her talent, immense, to give us wonderful situations like the ones I read in "Tasting the Fire."
I'm curious to read the next installment, the end it leaves a unique curiosity!"

Review on Regin La Radiosa!

Read the review on Regin La Radiosa.

"We still hold hands and his thumb stroking languid the back of my hand, circular movements so sensual that I appeal to all my willpower to stand up to his charm and make him understand that I won't be an easy prey. Oh, no sir.

Cristina is self-confident and likes the transgression. A chance meeting with Iced Eyes, aka Matt Staton, turns on a strong attraction in her that will give her a hard time.
The story is short and fast flowing. Very cute as a premise for a beginning of a story that will surely involve the reader.
I look forward with great pleasure the following, hoping to find out who's the mysterious and beautiful Matt Staton and what is the job for Cristina..."

Review on Insaziabili Letture :D

Read the review on Insaziabili Letture.

"When you discover a new author you're always afraid of a weak and unsuccessful reconfirmation. Not for Chiara Cilli, this young author has talent to spare, and it takes a few pages to have it confirmed. With Forbidden Man, the Cilli has strengthened the esteem and confidence I have in his abilities, in a few pages she's able to enclose an interlude of life made up of many events and feelings in a way so perfect to leave completely satisfied and both curious.
The Cilli engages in a new adventure that has as its protagonist the young Cristina and a man really mysterious, the beautiful Matt Staton.
Cristina, despite her twenty years, proves to be a great woman. Still tied to the carelessness of youth, she's full of life and hope for the future that awaits her, looks at life with eyes winking and undergoes full of momentum.
She's not frightened at nothing, has no fear even in front of a handsome young man and full of charm that catches her eyes and stops her heart.
Her lightness and warmth are a pleasant surprise and make you love from the start the main character, who intrigues with her taunts and jokes bold.
The young Cristina provokes, is a born troublemaker, and is also found to tease a man so beautiful to breathtaking.
The beautiful Matt, in fact, is a puzzle waiting to be discovered. He is a born seducer, with a charm and an appetizing ambiguity irreverent. Shows little signs of slowing down in front of the small Cristina but his resolve remains intact.
The author, who has become known in the romantic fantasy, proves perfectly capable of also address the contemporary romance, showing that if you have talent and good ideas you can succeed in everything.
The Cilli proves, in fact, a witch in the descriptions of interpersonal relationships and the characterization of the protagonists. Weaves a compelling plot to say the least and very passionate but leaves us with many questions: what is behind the dark Matt? Will Cristina to topple Matt? Which intense, unexpected and interesting folds will take their lives?
Look forward for the sequel."

April 30th, 2013

Cristina Cabrisi is a transgressive twenty-one. She doesn't like to be controlled and must always have the situation under control, especially with boys. But when the coincidence leads her to clash with Matt Staton's iced-eyes, her life changes forever. He is not one of the usual Cris's preys, he is a businessman older than her and he knows how to use his charm, but she is not prepared to be overwhelmed. The attraction between the two is immediately explicit and loads of expectations, but Cris finds herself in underwear to turn over a suspect business card in her hands, after Matt gave her a taste of his passion and then pulled back, telling her to have a job to offer. Who is actually Matt Staton? And why didn't he give vent to red-hot desire that Cris has read in his eyes? Review on Insaziabili Letture *-*

Read the review on Insaziabili Letture.

"In our imagination we often imagine to be magical creatures, sometimes not at all human creatures, to be strong, smart, fierce ... unique.
The young Chiara Cilli, giving voice to the hopes and wildest dreams of all of us, has created a fascinating reality in which human shapeshifters-lions live like a pack with one purpose: to defend the Emerald, the greatest treasure of Africa, guardian of their lives.
The tribal setting, the beautiful descriptions of primitive and unexplored places accompany the story of the flock's three young members: Kenan, strong, determined and ambitious, Daren, vigorous, fearless and selfless, and Jamila, sweet, brave and good.
The lives of these three young men are closely linked to each other, from an early age learn to love and respect not only themselves and those around them but the entire herd. Mixed feelings led them increasingly to confront each other and grow.
The confrontation, dialogue, communion of experiences and adventures link the three cubs in a profound way even if the dynamics of jealousy and possessiveness are not lacking because of the presence of the lioness.
Jamila is, in fact, the focus of all the emotions and all the sentiments expressed by the two boys. They live for her and according to her, and the question that haunts them is: for those who beat the heart of our lioness?
Their lives proceed peacefully until to the kidnapping of Kenan by a group of poachers. The sudden disappear of the young lion sends his friends into a deep depression, which do not stop in time to look for him and hope.
The story undergoes a jump of 9 years and the Cilli recurs the protagonists grown up, full of responsibility and awareness.
Did their feelings evolve? What and how they have changed, after the remoteness of Kenan?
When feelings are mixed is difficult to make the right choice even more when reason and feeling are not the only variables in the ruthless game of emotions. Love is, in fact, an emotion with more facets, sometimes even conflicting, and it is precisely when the contrast is endangering the people you love that life becomes complicated.
When you are so united to be considered brothers, we can fall in love with the same girl? What are the consequences of such contrasting feelings and what impact will have over a ten-year friendship?
In a relentless pace and pressing of emotions and events, the reader is completely captured, captured and blinded by the plot and by the talent of this young author who has woven an intriguing story, full of twists and never banal. Several genera are present in the book but the fantasy reigns supreme and not mind at all. A book full of feelings, the real ones that capture the heart and soul. A book full of happened that makes you forget the reality. A book that constantly feeds the curiosity, but mostly it is a book never dull, which goes against what are the literary standards, which is fascinating to wonder. Congratulations to Clare who has bewitched me, heart and soul."

Review on La tana di una booklover ♥

Read the review on La tana di una booklover.

"This novel's story has an unmistakable touch of magic: Jamila, Kenan and Daren are three shapeshifter, humans that have the ability to turn into lions. They live in Tanzania with their families and are very attached to each other. Early in the story the three have only twelve years old, and of course they have fun like kids should be doing. The friendship between the three is strong, but immediatly we see the huge characters differences between the three: Kenan is dark and charming, Jamila is sweet and sensitive, but also very instinctive, while Daren is the nicest of the bunch, and the most awkward and clumsy. The latter is in love with Jamila from time immemorial, while the girl has feelings for Kenan, who returns them while not wanting to admit.
Through their eyes we know the life of the flock of shapeshifters, who lives in lion form only at night, while during the day they are forced to take on human form. This, however, does not prevent the three protagonists to break the rules sometimes and continue to enjoy undisturbed during the long, hot African days.
Their life goes quiet until a danger on the horizon is revealed, and the herd is likely to be destroyed by poachers in search of lion cubs for the zoo in San Diego.
Rashid, the leader of the pack, he believes that it will be simple fool them and not to reveal the true nature of the members of the herd, but it will not. The leader of the poachers, Mark Sherlby, is much more clever, arrogant and devious than anyone had imagined. Not a bad fascinating man, he is just a bad and obnoxious man.
The command of poachers succeeds in the mission, despite the efforts of Rashid and the herd, and eventually manage to capture Kenan.
At this point we are transported quickly over time, up to nine years after the capture of Kenan. The dark shape-shifter, contrary to what we would expect all, is not dead and not a prisoner, indeed, seems to have realized his dream: he went away from the herd, he lives in New England in the luxurious home of Shelby, has become the best friend of the latter's son, Will, and attends Yale University.
But the beautiful days of Cainan have a price, and he will soon lead Shelby to the source of the power of shape-shifting, ie the Emerald which gave the gift to turn into lions to the first generation of these; but it's not limited to this: the Emerald is a huge source of power, and those who possess it shall be capable of dominating men.
In the years since, however, the herd has never stopped looking for Kenan and all hope of finding him sooner or later, but in the meantime the relationship between Daren and Jamila has changed, transformed from a simple friendship on a strong and passioned love.
Kenan is convinced that once returned to Tanzania will find Jamila waiting for him, believing that she still loves him, but his return will only cause a great stir, particularly in light of his apparent betrayal...

When I finished reading the last page of the novel, I told myself that it is a must. No doubt The Lion's Promise is really a book that I loved, because it is full of passion and strong emotions.
The life and feelings seen through the eyes of three protagonists have no uncertain terms, everything is taken to the extreme, everything is strong enough to leave you breathless.
And then in addition to the love and to the triangle that created between Daren, Jamila and Kenan, there's all an adventure to live, dangers to avoid and secrets to discover.
It's a book that can be read in a short time, but not so much because it is short, but rather out of curiosity to find out what will happen to the three main characters and how their lives intertwine again and how they will react to the events that always take an unexpected course.
It's an exciting novel in a few words and really, I can not find it no fault because there are all the right ingredients to keep glued to the pages.
I'm in love with Daren (by now you understand that it takes me a little to fall in love with fictional characters) but I was also fascinated by Kenan, despite my desire to strangle him while I was reading some points of the book.
In conclusion, I think it's definitely a book to read if you want to fall in love, get excited, cry (yes, I confess that there was some tear), break your heart and then smile, get angry and be shocked."

Rated 4½ out of 5 stars

Review on My empty purse :D

Read the review on My empty purse.

"Tanzania, Jamila, Kenan and Daren have 12 years, are inseparable and full of energy. Every night they slip away secretly to run down to the lake and watch the sunrise. But they're not normal guys: they are shape shifters, a life divided between their wild nature, as king of the forest and the human.
Things change when Mark Shelby and his henchmen arrive in Tanzania. They are nothing more than unscrupulous poachers, with the sole purpose to draw lion cubs to bring them to a zoo.
The adults will fight to protect them, but unfortunately Kenan is kidnapped. So Daren promises solemnly that he would do anything to bring him home.
Since then there have been nine years, intense years, during which research never stops. Many things have changed but the threat persists.
I really loved the originality of the plot, among all the creatures that swarm in the fantasy shapeshifter I missed the Lions, plus you see them act in their natural environment, we are not in a big city but in Tanzania and images that are invoked to mind, by descriptions of the landscape, are beautiful.
I liked the story, I was blown away and surprised at certain points. The characters are well defined on all aspects, but I must admit that I have not fully understood kenan, I did not understand his choices, nor his struggles.
The final did not expect... I would have preferred to be developed a little more, but I must admit that the plot has taken a very different way from what I expected. I expected that the romantic aspect was more pronounced and instead I had to think again.
And here I tell you what for me was the downside... first, the love triangle, yes there is also here... the worst among other things: he loves her, but she loves the other, who doesn't love her. It must be said that things get well, so no long faces.
The parts that are I liked less are those corny, you know the ones where he looks at her and gets lost in her, he describes in a hundred ways how beautiful / sexy she is etc... those. I know it is my fault, in the face of certain phrases have the same reaction that children have when they see two adults who cuddle... puff... I have to do?
Did I mention that romance and I are separated in house? No? Well now you know...

The fate can do many things. It can bring people together, or separate them. Even forever. It can punish and can cause suffering so bad. It can unbalance a warrior just at the crucial moment, and be the first to declare his defeat. It can decide the outcome of the battle, simply by moving the direction of the wind.

Anyway, I liked it so much and I would recommend."
