‘Prioritizes paper-based transparency’: Dominion Voting Systems SOLD after settlements with several entities

Dominion voting machine

Dominion Voting Systems was a company at the center of election manipulation concerns during the 2020 elections. It defended the accuracy of its machines, its own integrity, and sued multiple defendants for defamation when they criticized.

It obtained a settlement in the range of $700 million from Fox News over the issue, and in the past few weeks frantically has been settling other cases, mostly for hidden terms.

On Thursday, the company was sold.

“As of today, Dominion is gone,” said a statement from Liberty Vote, the new owner, which claimed its purchase was “a bold and historic move to transform and improve election integrity in America.”

The buyer, known formerly as Knowink, was founded by Scott Leiendecker.

Reports revealed Leiendecker founded his company in 2011 with the creation of the Poll Pad – tech that provides check-in and voter verification procedures.

It has grown to the point it employs more than 150 people with some $55 million in annual revenue.

Leiendecker’s team also recently acquired Election Administrators, another election tech company.

The company said it prioritizes paper ballots, but the exact future for Dominion Voting Systems vote-counting machines remained uncertain, likely the subject of a future announcement by Liberty Vote.

Leiendecker previously had been an election director for the city of St. Louis, where he worked to reform a series of outdated procedures to provide the city when a smoother election process.

I’ve been wondering why Dominion Voting Systems suddenly reached settlements with Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and One America News.

Turns out, it’s been purchased by a Republican-owned election tech firm that insisted on it, per Axios. pic.twitter.com/QhrUbjHnSi

Update: Dominion Sold for Scrap Because Indictments Expected Soon?

You bet your bippy that we’re reading between the lines here – but with what is surfacing almost daily it’s practically the only reason that makes sense.

— Rasmussen Reports (@Rasmussen_Poll) October 9, 2025

A legacy wire service report explained, “Conservatives and other Trump supporters blamed the company, one of the nation’s top voting machine makers, for the Republican’s loss to Democrat Joe Biden. Many alleged, without evidence, that its systems were easily manipulated. Dominion had provided voting machines for the state of Georgia, a critical battleground that Biden won and which flipped control of the U.S. Senate. The web of conspiracy theories following the 2020 election not only caused headaches for Dominion but also undermined public confidence in U.S. elections, led to calls to ban voting machines and triggered death threats against elections officials.”

ABC reported Dominion systems were used in 27 states in 2024.

The terms of the sale also were not made public right away, but Dominion’s website immediately redirected to Liberty Vote.

A report at UPI revealed Leiendecker said, “Liberty Vote signals a new chapter for American elections — one where trust is built from the ground up. Liberty Vote is committed to delivering election technology that prioritizes paper-based transparency, security, and simplicity so that voters can be assured that every ballot is filled-in accurately and fairly counted.”

President Donald Trump also has called for restoration of paper ballots across the country, in addition to requiring voter ID at polling locations, restricted mail-in ballots and more.

“This announcement raises a lot of questions, questions that I’m sure a lot of states with current Dominion contracts are going to want answers to,” said David Becker, of the Center for Election Innovation & Research.

Overruled: School overturns student government’s rejection of Turning Point USA chapter

University officials at Tennessee-Chattanooga have been forced to overrule the decision of the school’s student government, whose members rejected the establishment of a Turning Point USA chapter there.

TPUSA, of course, has been inundated with tens of thousands of requests for new chapters in schools across the U.S., even globally, following the assassination last month of co-founder Charlie Kirk.

He was shot by an assassin and killed at a free speech event at a Utah college.

A suspect was taken into custody and could face the death penalty if convicted.

Now the dispute has erupted at Chattanooga.

Was able to confirm this morning that the TPUSA chapter @UTChattanooga has been approved now after the school overruled the student gov association who tried to stop the chapter formation. Congrats to TPUSA’s new chapter! https://t.co/wcuyroDmS5

— Robby Starbuck (@robbystarbuck) October 9, 2025

School officials formally overruled the students’ decision on the chapter.

Students, whose judgments were clouded by false “hate speech” claims about TPUSA, had rejected plans for the chapter.

The rejection drew multiple reactions.

My hometown school — @UTChattanooga — apparently told students they cannot form a campus chapter of @TPUSA due to false claims of “hate speech.” If this is not reversed immediately, I will sue the school for the students, and win. And UTC will pay the bill. Fix it now!

Not the Bee commented, “You’d think that living in a red state like Tennessee, going to a public university in a city like Chattanooga, and being a conservative on campus would all go together smoothly, wouldn’t you? Well, you’d be wrong.”

It continued with an explanation, “As it turns out, just a little bit of bad press has forced the hand of the university. The administration at UT has taken matters into their own hand. Glad to see quick action from the school’s administrators to right this injustice.”

INDICTED! Letitia James now facing federal charge of fraud

Letitia James (Video screenshot)Letitia James (Video screenshot)Letitia James, who has brought lawfare cases against President Trump

Letitia James, the New York attorney general who campaigned on a platform to “get” President Donald Trump, then worked with a leftist judge to decide on a $500 million “fraud” penalty that turned out to be unconstitutional, now has been indicted herself.

The charge comes from a federal grand jury in Virginia and names her on a count of bank fraud.

She already had been under investigation by the Department of Justice over allegations she lied on federal forms to get better interest rates on mortgages.

James won a civil case last year against President Donald Trump and his Trump Organization over her claims of faulty business dealings, but the $500 million penalty created by Arthur Engoron, the New York judge in the case, and James was found to be unconstitutional and thrown out.

Federal Housing Finance Director Bill Pulte had alleged that James may have committed mortgage fraud by making false or misleading statements on property records, “like a loan application that said her property in Virginia is her primary residence, a building record stating her multifamily Brooklyn property incorrectly has five residences instead of four, and a mortgage application that falsely stated James was her father’s spouse,” Fox News reported.

It was U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan, appointed by Trump after her predecessor, who returned the indictment.

JUST ANNOUNCED: NY Attorney General Letitia James officially indicted for mortgage fraud by a Virginia federal grand jury. pic.twitter.com/tjTNiwOe0z

— AJ Huber (@Huberton) October 9, 2025

WND has reported that the mortgage fraud allegations aren’t the only problem for James.

It’s minor, but it’s still a problem that was cited. It’s that the height of a fence at a five-unit apartment structure she owns in Brooklyn.

It’s the same address that triggered a federal mortgage fraud investigation into her, as she obtained an interest rate on a mortgage for the property that was based on it having four units, when it actually has five, according to building records.

The Washington Examiner said James could face $500 in fines because the fence at the brownstone is five feet, five inches tall, beyond the 48-inch limit.

The New York Department of Buildings served James with a violation notice recently that deemed her front fence exceeded height limitations.

It was James who, after campaigning to “get” Trump, came up with a claim that his business operations committed fraud. She worked with Engoron on the case, which alleged that there was fraud even though the business entities that supposedly were victimized said their loans were repaid on time and in full, and they would like to do more business with Trump.

Despite the lack of evidence, the judge created a penalty for Trump and his businesses of almost half a billion dollars, a decision that subsequently was tossed by an appeals court ruling that said it violated the U.S. Constitution.

Further, WND reported that constitutional expert Jonathan Turley revealed that James may not be done losing to Trump.

A New York appeals court ruled that the civil penalty issued by Engoron in February 2024 violated the Eighth Amendment’s prohibition against excessive fines. Turley told “Faulkner Focus” guest host Aishah Hasnie that while the ruling was a “tremendous victory” for Trump, more wins could be coming for the president.

“This is obviously a tremendous victory for President Trump, but it’s long overdue. During this litigation, many of us described this entire effort as a grotesque use of this New York law. No one lost money in this case. The banks actually wanted more business from President Trump,” Turley said. “No one had ever seen an effort like this. It was an effort by Letitia James to have a trophy win against Trump and what this opinion has done is reduce what was a mounted marlin to something of a guppy. It has removed the fine and left in place the injunctive relief that President Trump can now appeal. So, it is possible that even that could go to the wayside.”

WATCH:

“The good news is really for the New York court system. This regains some of the credibility that was lost during this process,” Turley continued. “Many of us stood there in disbelief that James was allowed to do this. She succeeded in securing or she was fortunate enough to secure a very favorable judge, Judge Engoron, and I want to note, by the way, that both the judge and James tried to effectively price Trump out of even appealing the case. They insisted that he would have to pony up half a billion dollars just to question what they did in the case and it was an outrageous effort to effectively price out an appeal. It didn’t work. Now we can see that the appellate court said this should never have happened in terms of the fine.”

James sued Trump in September 2022, alleging he overstated the value of real estate holdings to obtain loans after vowing to investigate Trump during her initial campaign for attorney general in 2018, during which she labeled him an “illegitimate president.” Turley said the appeals court ruling would also calm businesses in the state.

“There are still legitimate questions here with regard to the injunctive relief,” Turley told Hasnie. “The court obviously fractured on these issues. The good news for New Yorkers is that the court of appeals really sent a message to the business community, the legal community, that they are not going to allow raw lawfare.”

It was U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi appointed DOJ official Ed Martin as special prosecutor to investigate James over allegations of mortgage fraud.

Late Thursday, James posted a video saying the indictment is “nothing more than a continuation of the president’s desperate weaponization of our justice system.”

Conditional extension: Here’s what to do about Affordable Care Act subsidies

(Image by Gerd Altmann from Pixabay)

(Image by Gerd Altmann from Pixabay)

A major sticking point in reopening the government is the extension of expiring Affordable Care Act subsidies. Without these subsidies, insurance premiums will double for those receiving them.

Because of this, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., is breaking ranks with the Republican Party.

It should be obvious that government benefits, once granted, are virtually impossible to take away, and a subsidy “cliff” will be politically disastrous. The subsidies were necessary to mask the fact that affordable options were being taken away, and extremely expensive coverage mandates were being imposed. The cliff was needed to mask the long-term cost of the bill.

So, what can be done now? One suggestion is a conditional extension of the subsidies combined with measures to reduce costs, based on an understanding of why costs are outrageous. The graph below shows the enormous increase in administrators, and the legislation associated with it.

Graph courtesy of AuthenticMedicine.com

All that administration is supposed to decrease “unnecessary” care. It is time to ask how many tests could be bought for the price of the staff used to deny them. For the price of a $1 million administrator, 2,000 CT scans at $500 (possible in independent facilities) could be obtained, or 82 spine surgeries (lumbar laminectomies at $12,230 at the Surgery Center of Oklahoma.

We don’t know how much time is wasted by physicians and nurses in documentation that serves no purpose except to justify billing – but it may eat up half their time.

Republicans reneged on their promises to repeal the ACA. So, how about promising that “if you like your ACA plan you can keep your ACA plan,” but the following changes will be made to allow affordable alternatives to arise:

All federal insurance mandates are repealed, so you can buy an affordable catastrophes-only plan; The ban on physician-owned hospitals is repealed;Payments are site-neutral;All medical payments including individually owned insurance (not just employer-owned insurance) are payable with pre-tax dollars; andOther freedom-expanding measures are actively explored.

Trump blasts ‘vicious’ campaign against history, lauds Columbus as ‘true American hero’

A statue of Christopher Columbus at the Catedral de Sevilla in Seville, Spain (Unsplash)A statue of Christopher Columbus at the Catedral de Sevilla in Seville, Spain (Unsplash)Christopher Columbus

President Donald Trump on Thursday honored famed explorer Christopher Columbus, recognizing him as a “the original American hero,” after years of leftists and activists trying to destroy his significance in history and his October holiday.

“Outrageously, in recent years, Christopher Columbus has been a prime target of a vicious and merciless campaign to erase our history, slander our heroes, and attack our heritage,” Trump wrote. “Before our very eyes, left-wing radicals toppled his statues, vandalized his monuments, tarnished his character, and sought to exile him from our public spaces. Under my leadership, those days are finally over — and our Nation will now abide by a simple truth: Christopher Columbus was a true American hero, and every citizen is eternally indebted to his relentless determination.”

Leftists have objected to Columbus in terms similar to what they also apply to Christians, Republicans, and conservatives, like “racist,” “white supremacist” and more.

Some leftist factions have insisted that America drop “Columbus Day” and replace it with a holiday honoring various other ideologies, most often “Indigenous Peoples Day.”

“Today our Nation honors the legendary Christopher Columbus — the original American hero, a giant of Western civilization, and one of the most gallant and visionary men to ever walk the face of the earth,” Trump wrote. “This Columbus Day, we honor his life with reverence and gratitude, and we pledge to reclaim his extraordinary legacy of faith, courage, perseverance, and virtue from the left-wing arsonists who have sought to destroy his name and dishonor his memory.”

He continued, “Born in Genoa, Italy in 1451, Columbus quickly emerged as a titan of the Age of Exploration. On August 3, 1492, following years of intense study, preparation, and petitioning, Christopher Columbus secured funding from the Spanish Crown to set out on a daring expedition that most believed to be impossible. Commissioned by Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain, Columbus and his crew boarded three small ships — the Niña, Pinta, and Santa Maria — to set sail on a perilous voyage across the Atlantic. He was guided by a noble mission: to discover a new trade route to Asia, bring glory to Spain, and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to distant lands.”

— The White House (@WhiteHouse) April 27, 2025

It was on Oct. 12, 1492, that Columbus made landfall not in Asia, but in the modern-day Bahamas.

“Upon his arrival, he planted a majestic cross in a mighty act of devotion, dedicating the land to God and setting in motion America’s proud birthright of faith. Though he initially believed he had arrived in Asia, his discovery opened the vast frontier and untold splendors of the New World to Europe. He later ventured onward to Cuba and other islands in the Caribbean — exploring their coasts and engaging with their people,” Trump wrote.

“As we celebrate his legacy, we also acknowledge the contributions of the countless Italian-Americans who, like him, have endlessly contributed to our culture and our way of life. To this day, the United States and Italy share a special bond rooted in the timeless values of faith, family, and freedom. My Administration looks forward to strengthening our long and storied friendship in the years to come,” Trump wrote.

“This Columbus Day, more than 500 years since Columbus arrived in the New World, we follow his example, we echo his resolve, and we offer our gratitude for his life of valor and grit. Above all, we commit to restoring a Nation that once again dares to tame the unknown, honors our rich cultural inheritance, and offers rightful praise to our Creator above,” Trump said.

‘Diverse spirit’: Gavin Newsom declares Diwali a state holiday

California has designated Diwali — popularly known as the “Festival of Lights” — as an official statewide holiday.

Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the legislation, Assembly Bill 268, into law on Monday, which will go into effect in January 2026. First introduced by Democratic California State Assembly members Ash Kalra and Darshana Patel, it will authorize public schools and community colleges to close in observance of Diwali and also allow employees and students to take time off to recognize the holiday, according to the bill’s text.

Newsom’s office did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Kalra said in part of a Sept. 23 statement that Diwali being designated as an official state holiday in California “will uplift its message to the hundreds of thousands of Californians that celebrate and help introduce it to many throughout our diverse state.” Patel said in a statement the same day that “in these uncertain times, Diwali, known as the festival of lights, reminds us of the enduring triumph of light over darkness and offers a much-needed message of hope.”

The Coalition of Hindus of North America — a Hindu advocacy group — thanked Newsom for recognizing the religious festival in an X post on Tuesday, writing that the declaration is “ushering in a new era of inclusion for Hindus in California.” Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA), the oldest and one of the largest Hindu organizations in the nation, similarly praised California for declaring Diwali an official state holiday, writing in a Tuesday post to X that the move marks a “proud and historic milestone for Hindu Americans.”

“Diwali—the festival of light, knowledge, and renewal—speaks to values cherished by all communities,” VHPA wrote in the social media post. “Its inclusion in California’s official calendar reflects how these timeless ideals contribute to the state’s vibrant and diverse spirit.”

California is now the third state in the U.S. to recognize Diwali as a statewide holiday, following Pennsylvania and Connecticut.

Diwali comes from the Sanskrit word “deepavali,” which means a “row of lights,” CNN reported. The dates of the annual festival are based on the Hindu lunar calendar, and typically fall sometime during late October or early November, according to PBS News.

Diwali is a major Hindu festival but is also observed by Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists, PBS News reported. The annual holiday is celebrated by roughly one billion people across the world, NPR reported in October 2024.

‘This is outrageous!’ Mike Johnson goes nuclear on Chuck Schumer over shutdown

Speaker Mike Johnson on Thursday expressed outrage at Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for playing politics with the ongoing government shutdown.

Schumer on Wednesday celebrated his decision to shut down the government despite Americans facing accumulating effects of a prolonged funding lapse. Johnson said during a press conference at the Capitol that Schumer’s motive for maintaining the shutdown is fear of losing his New York Senate seat to Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or someone else more radical than him.

“They’re desperate. There’s a rising Marxist wing in the Democrat Party. They’re about to elect the mayor of New York City. Chuck Schumer is from New York. He sees a rising Marxist challenge to himself,” Johnson said. “And there’s one thing that Chuck Schumer cares about more than anything else and that is his Senate seat. The guy’s been in Congress for 44 years. He doesn’t know how to live life outside this building. And so he will do anything to make sure that he keeps that seat.”

“He thinks AOC is going to challenge him or some other Marxist. I’m just telling you the plain truth and I take no pleasure in this. I’m trying to muster every ounce of Christian charity that I can, but this is outrageous!” he continued. “He’s playing games with the American people. Real people are being hurt! Veterans and troops and everybody, people that rely on these services. God bless America. Do the right thing and open the government.”

Millions of Americans are on the precipice of missing a paycheck while American businesses that engage with the federal government could advance with layoffs because of the economic fallout. Active-duty service members, among other federal employees, could miss their next paycheck if the government does not reopen by Wednesday.

“We knew that this would be a hard fight. It is still a hard fight,” Schumer told Punchbowl News in a sit-down interview on Wednesday. “But every day we’re getting better and better as the message sinks in more and more deeply.”

“Every day gets better for us,” he added.

Schumer has mostly kept his caucus united in repeatedly voting against reopening the government as the shutdown extended to its ninth day on Thursday. No other Democrats so far have joined Democratic Sens. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania and Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada and independent Maine Sen. Angus King, who caucuses with Democrats, to vote for a clean extension of government funding that Republicans support.

‘Hyper-partisan’: New calls for investigation of SPLC’s status as tax-exempt ‘charitable’ organization

The far-left extremists at the Southern Poverty Law Center already have seen the FBI announce it is cutting all ties with them. And a petition is demanding that the Department of Justice take the same step.

Now a complaint has been filed with federal authorities calling for a full review of the SPLC’s status as a “charitable” organization that gives it huge tax breaks.

According to the Federalist, the Center to Advance Security in America has submitted a legal complaint asking for the full review because of the SPLC’s “hyper-partisan political activity.”

In fact, the complaint calls for the organization’s tax-exempt status to be revoked.

“American taxpayers should not be expected to subsidize an organization that engages in daily attacks on Republicans, compares those who hold mainstream conservative beliefs to the KKK, and who consistently labels conservatives as engaging in ‘hate’ without any reference to any other political parties or ideologies,” CASA chief James Fitzpatrick told the publication.

“We believe the American people are entitled to a full investigation into this urgent matter.”

The organization sent information to Scott Bessent, treasury secretary, regarding the issues.

It explains there are “several serious concerns about [the SPLC’s] compliance with federal law regarding tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) including but not limited to it no longer fulfilling a charitable purpose and its partisan political activity.”

CASA also charges that the SPLC likens “normal, mainstream, conservative beliefs, to that of the KKK” and puts “political candidates and government officials, only Republicans, on their hate lists or hate watch articles,” the Federalist said.

Recently, the SPLC claimed that Turning Point USA, co-founded by the assassinated Charlie Kirk, was embracing “white nationalist” conspiracies.

At the SPLC, “author Rachael Fugardi claimed that ‘Turning Point USA’s primary strategy is sowing and exploiting fear that white Christian supremacy is under attack by nefarious actors, including immigrants, the LGBTQ+ community and civil rights activists.'”

That article claimed TPUSA is spreading “fear” to push “supremacism.”

“This is the SPLC’s modus operandi. SPLC’s entire website is filled with inflammatory language,” the complaint charges. “On at least one occasion, their content may have even led to political violence. In 2012, Floyd Lee Corkins II opened fire at the Washington, D.C., headquarters of the conservative Christian think tank Family Research Council. Prosecutors stated they found on Corkins’ computer and that he had identified his targets using SPLC’s website. This isn’t to say that SPLC’s speech causes political violence. But it does serve to exemplify how it creates an environment of hate that does not serve the public interest.”

WND has reported the Washington Stand confirmed a petition organized by the Family Research Council is urging the DOJ to drop any links to SPLC.

The FRC organized a petition backed by more than 30,000 signers that is urging a “complete purge” of SPLC influence from the federal government.

The petition indicted the SPLC as a “partisan smear machine” that unfairly and inaccurately has “vilified faith-driven groups like FRC, fostering national discord and, tragically, violence.”

It was FBI Director Kash Patel who just days ago said the bureau has severed all ties to the SPLC.

“The Southern Poverty Law Center long ago abandoned civil rights work and turned into a partisan smear machine,” Patel told The Daily Signal in a statement Friday. “Their so-called hate map has been used to defame mainstream Americans and even inspired violence.”

‘Initial architecture’: Golden Dome proposal deadline extended after ‘considerable interest’ in massive project

Boghosian)President Donald Trump announces the Golden Dome missile defense system, Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in the Oval Office. (Official White House photo by Joyce N. Boghosian)

The Pentagon is pushing back the deadline for industry proposals for the Golden Dome missile defense project due to a massive surge of interest from America’s defense industrial complex, DefenseOne reported Tuesday.

“Considerable interest” from defense contractors in the Trump administration’s potential $151 billion project has spurred the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) to extend the deadline for proposals, DefenseOne reported. The agency said its Sept. 10 solicitation “generated considerable interest, resulting in over 1,500 questions from industry,” according to the outlet.

“I think it’s an indication of strong industry interest, which is not surprising given the enormous amount of money already appropriated by Congress,” Todd Harrison of the American Enterprise Institute told DefenseOne.

The Golden Dome is estimated to cost at least $175 billion, while the Trump administration is aiming to build the system in only three years. However, the enormous amount of coordination required from America’s defense industrial complex may prove to considerably blunt Trump’s ambitions, as the industry is well-known to be a slow, cumbersome force.

The most lofty estimated cost comes from the Congressional Budget Office in May, which said the massive project could cost upwards of $831 billion over 20 years. Defense giants such as L3 Harris Technologies, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon Technologies and Elon Musk’s SpaceX have been floated as potential contractors for the project.

The Trump administration has envisioned the Golden Dome system would include sea, land, and space-based elements in order to shoot down incoming missiles. The system was conceived with the evolving threats of hypersonic missiles in mind as China and Russia both race to lead the world in the technology.

“Sept. 17, 2025 marks 60 days since Gen Guetlein’s confirmation and the establishment of the Office of Golden Dome for America,” a Pentagon official told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “The Department of War met the deadline of initial architecture development. It is currently undergoing review, and no additional information is available at this time, keeping operational security top of mind. We continue doing our part to meet the President’s vision as Golden Dome for America remains a strategic imperative to protect our Homeland.”

Lavish funding: BLM activist to plead guilty in case involving diverting taxpayer money to her family

S

A Black Lives Matter (BLM) activist has taken a plea deal in a Fargo, North Dakota, case in which she and her husband are accused of diverting taxpayer money meant for her nonprofit to family members, according to local news outlet InForum.

Faith Shields-Dixon, founder of the Faith4Hope Scholarship Fund, will plead guilty to three felony counts of theft out of five, InForum reported, citing a plea agreement she signed Oct. 1. The deal follows years of allegations of financial mismanagement by BLM leaders after their organizations received lavish funding.

Prosecutors accused Shields-Dixon of accepting $350,000 in grant money for the Faith4Hope Scholarship Fund, which was meant to assist low-income families, and directing $124,000 of it to businesses run by family members. Shields-Dixon told InForum that her sentencing hearing will reveal what precise illegal actions she will confess to.

“There, my attorneys and I will explain exactly what did and did not happen with respect to the grant funding I accepted from the city of Fargo and state of North Dakota,” Shields-Dixon said in a statement. “Then — and only then — should anyone draw any conclusions about me, my family and the decisions I made in this matter.”

An attorney for Shields-Dixon did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment. Her husband, Charles, faces his own felony trial for the case in November, according to InForum.

Shields-Dixon’s police-related advocacy included filing a complaint against the Moorhead Police Department in 2020, alleging that she was afraid for her life during a traffic stop and telling a police oversight board in 2024 that she had been unlawfully jailed in Fargo, Valley News Live reported.

Following George Floyd’s death in 2020, BLM leaders used their organizations’ funds to buy luxuries such as a massive Southern California mansion and to pay an art company run by the father of a BLM activist’s child to produce an expensive livestream event. BLM organizations have even dealt with internal disputes over money, including when fellow activists accused Black Lives Matter Grassroots Director Melina Abdullah in 2022 of spending the nonprofit’s funds on a vacation to Jamaica.
