Behind the scenes: First lady confirms success in efforts to reunite children kept in Russia
Melania TrumpPresident Donald Trump has been working with, or actually on, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky for months now, trying to end the carnage wrought by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the military conflict it triggered. Thousands have died and entire city centers have been left in rubble.
First Lady Melania Trump also has been working on the conflict, but on another point.
She has been trying to reunite children with their parents.
CBS News explains she has confirmed eight Ukrainian children kept in Russia by the conflict now have been returned and reunited with their families in just the last 24 hours.
More reunifications are pending.
“She also said Russia has agreed to coordinate the return of Ukrainians who were children when they were displaced by the war, but have since turned 18, ‘within a short period of time,'” the report said.
The report said when Russia invaded in 2022, the military included in its campaigns the “systematic and forcible abduction of children.”
Ukraine’s state-run “Bring Kids Back” program charges that more than 19,500 Ukrainian children were targeted.

Melania Trump said she’s been working with Putin and his team to reunite the families. She first approached him by letter, the report said.
“Since then, President Putin and I have had an open channel of communication regarding the welfare of these children. For the past three months, both sides have participated in several backchannel meetings and calls, all in good faith. We have agreed to cooperate with each other for the benefit of all people involved in this war. My representative has been working directly with President Putin’s team to ensure the safe reunification of children with their families between Russia and Ukraine,” she announced on Friday.

It’s not because they are doing the things of the evil empire during World War II; it’s because they have a political ideology and agenda that disagrees with Democrats and leftists.
But the constant and incessant characterizations have produced their results: An explosion of threats against the president, federal officers and their supporters that in all likelihood should not be ignored.
For example, the Department of Homeland Security posted online an audio of a threat delivered by telephone to the spouse of a federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer.
“I don’t know how you let your husband work for ICE, and you sleep at night. F–k you, f–k your family. I hope your kids get deported by accident. How do you sleep? F–k you. Did you hear what happened to the Nazis after World War II? Because it’s what’s going to happen to your family,” said the woman making the threat.

Homeland Security explained, “Antifa terrorists are threatening the FAMILIES of our law enforcement. We will hunt these sickos down and put them behind bars. In Texas, the spouse of an ICE officer received a voicemail filled with violent threats. If you don’t believe that radical anarchists want ICE law enforcement dead, listen to this.”
Social media commenters joined the conversation, with, “The party of love, peace, and tolerance,” and “I was reliably told that this never happens.”
Recently, a sniper attacked an ICE facility in Texas, and authorities said the attacker was aiming at officers, but instead killed two detainees.
Another jumped straight to a conclusion: “These people are demons.”
Yet another, “Democrats must cut out their anti-ice rhetoric.”
The New York Post said, “The Department of Homeland Security has condemned the ‘dangerous’ doxxing of immigration agents and their families as the agency pleads to dial down the pervasive and escalating rhetoric emanating from lefty politicians and media outlets.”
DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said, “The men and women of ICE and CBP are fathers and mothers, sons and daughters. They get up every morning to try and make our communities safer. Like everyone else, they just want to go home to their families at night. The violence and dehumanization of these men and women who are simply enforcing the law must stop.”
Physical assaults already have exploded by 1,000% on federal agents, authorities have noted.
The report said three women were indicted last month, accused of stalking an ICE agent to his home.
“When they arrived at the agent’s home, they continued streaming while shouting to bystanders that their ‘neighbor is ICE,’ ‘la migra lives here’ and ‘ICE lives on your street and you should know.’ They publicly disclosed the agent’s home address and encouraged viewers to ‘come on down,'” the report said.
Another case involved the arrest of f 68-year-old man in San Diego after he posted the home address of a federal lawyer online and urged people to “swat” her.
That’s a “dangerous harassment tactic,” the report said, where fake emergency calls are made to provoke an armed response by police.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem condemned the activities and warned about the surge in threats.

She charged that those delivering violent rhetoric actually are “making plans to ambush them and to kill them.”
It was in the Dallas shooting that authorities reported the gunman apparently used a software program to track ICE agents.

‘Preach, sister’: X users remind Letitia James of her own words, and they bite
Letitia James being booed at a ceremony for the New York Fire Department.Letitia James, the New York attorney general whose vast civil fraud case against President Donald Trump collapsed in an appeals court decision that her punishment of $500 million was unconstitutional, was herself indicted on mortgage fraud this week.
And she had, likely injudiciously, commented on social media about her agenda against Trump, who she promised to “get” when she was campaigning for office.
She had said, “When powerful people cheat to get better loans, it comes at the expense of hardworking people. Everyday Americans cannot lie to a bank to get a mortgage, and if they did, our government would throw the book at them. There simply cannot be different rules for different people.”
That was in February 2024 when she was attacking Trump on a regular basis on social media.
But now she’s indicted on allegations she falsely claimed a home she bought in Virginia was for her personal residence, in order to obtain a better mortgage interest rate, but then she leased it as a rental, confirming both claims in government records.

‘Doing a lot to resolve such complex crises’: Trump thanks Putin for his response to Nobel Peace Prize snub
Russian President Vladimir Putin praised President Donald Trump’s leadership and problem-solving abilities after the Nobel Committee once again snubbed the U.S. President for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, despite his record-shattering success in bringing peace and stability to conflict zones across the world.
Instead of honoring President Trump, the man who ended eight wars and brokered historic peace deals between long-feuding nations, the Nobel Committee awarded Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado for what they called her “tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela.”
Nobel Committee Chair Jørgen Watne Frydnes gave a dismissive and condescending response when asked why Trump was overlooked:
“In the long history of the Nobel Peace Prize, I think this committee has seen many types of campaign, media attention.
We receive thousands and thousands of letters every year of people wanting to say what, for them, leads to peace.
This committee sits in a room filled with the portraits of all laureates and that room is filled with both courage and integrity. So we base only our decision on the work and the will of Alfred Nobel.”
The White House fired back, accusing the Nobel Committee of “choosing politics over peace.”

President Donald Trump received praise from an unlikely source, Russian President Vladimir Putin, after being snubbed yet again by the Nobel Committee.

He added, “There have been cases where the committee has awarded the Nobel Peace Prize to people who have done nothing for peace. A person comes, good or bad, and (gets it) in a month, in two months, boom. For what? He didn't do anything at all. In my view, these decisions have done enormous damage to the prestige of this prize.”

‘The RIFs have begun’: Trump administration confirms Schumer-shutdown firings of employees
The U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.President Donald Trump has warned multiple times that there will be “Reductions in Force,” or layoffs, among federal employees because of the Schumer shutdown, the current status of the federal government as closed because Democrats in the Senate refused to vote to keep the government open unless they got $1.5 trillion in extra spending for their friends, like leftist media organizations.
He even teamed with Russell Voght, chief of the Office of Management and Budget, to make a video depicting a “grim reaper.”
Now it’s happening.
A report from the Mirror US said Vought has “announced that federal layoffs have started as the ongoing government shutdown enters its second week.”
“The RIFs have begun,” said Vought on social media, referencing an acronym for “Reductions in Force.”
While referencing possible layoffs, the Trump administration also has not yet made clear whether some of the federal workers, without pay because of the Democrats’ decisions in the Senate, will be given back pay after a reopening.
But there have been dark predictions about developments.
“It will be substantial, and we regret that the Democrats have shut down the government and forced workers to be put in this position,” one administration official told a network.
Vought hasn’t specified numbers or agencies yet.
The Trump administration also has suggested freezing, or cutting, billions of dollars of federal funding for various Democrat projects already in the budget.

The shutdown is in its10th day and Democrats have been blaming Republicans for refusing to give up $1.5 trillion in taxpayer dollars for favorite Democrat spending plans, such as NPR, as well as health care for illegal aliens.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune said the shutdown will end when Democrats break from their party.
Trump already has canceled about $18 billion in New York City infrastructure work over the unconstitutional used of “diversity” ideologies.
The Republicans have repeatedly offered a “clean” funding bill to keep the government running, at mostly current levels, until at least November 21. Democrats repeatedly have rejected it.
One report documented, “A spokesman for the Health and Human Services Department, in a statement to CNBC, said, ‘HHS employees across multiple divisions have received reduction-in-force notices as a direct consequence of the Democrat-led government shutdown.'”
Unions already have sued over the administration’s actions.

‘Threat to unborn life’: Senate majority tells FDA to backtrack on new generic abortion drug
Fifty-one senators making up a majority of the U.S. Senate have written to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration asking for officials to suspend approval of a generic abortion drug, like mifepristone, following the bureaucrats’ recent expansion of the use of that abortion drug.
It’s because the FDA previously pledged to conduct a thorough review of the safety of the drug used to kill unborn children.
The letter went to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and FDA Commissioner Marty Makary.
The letter said the senators “recognize the FDA’s statutory responsibility in evaluating drug applications,” but challenged that “the timing of this approval appears inconsistent with the comprehensive safety reassessment your agencies have prioritized.”
“Out of respect for this important review, and with full confidence in your dedication to protecting women’s health, states’ rights, and unborn life, we urge you to take decisive action to reevaluate whether this generic version of mifepristone is suitable to enter the market,” the senators said. “Today, your agencies have all the information they need to bring an end to previous Democrat administrations’ abortion drug regulations while a comprehensive review is conducted.”
The senators recommended:
Suspend the approval of any new generic versions of mifepristone pending the outcome of the REMS safety review;Commit to ensuring that all generic versions of mifepristone are included in the ongoing reevaluation of prior REMS approvals;Reinstate the in-person dispensing requirement for mifepristone and all its generic versions;Suspend the distribution of mifepristone and all generic versions as an “imminent hazard” under Section 505(e) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA); andWithdraw FDA guidance permitting pharmacy distribution of mifepristone and all its generic versions.The senators explained, “We are committed to continuing to work together to give a voice to the voiceless and protect women from the dangerous effects of unregulated access to chemical abortion drugs. The life, safety, freedom, and health of millions of Americans, born and unborn, depend on it.”
They warned, “The ‘abortion-on-demand’ culture enabled by the Biden-Harris administration’s removal of critical safeguards on the only FDA-approved abortion regimen is currently the biggest threat to unborn life in America today. Under current FDA regulations, these drugs can be obtained via mail order without meaningful consultation with a medical professional and without any confirmation of who is purchasing them or for what purpose.”
The threat? “These policies have enabled abortion pills to be obtained by abusers, traffickers, and even minors. The aftermath has not only been deadly for preborn babies, but lethal to their mothers. Contrary to the narrative peddled by the media that taking abortion pills is ‘safer than taking Tylenol,’ evidence shows that the risk of serious medical complications after taking mifepristone is at least twenty-two times higher than reported on the drug label.”
They said, “In fact, more than 1 in 10 women who take mifepristone will experience a serious adverse event.”
They want to see the government going another direction than when “The Biden-Harris administration enabled the deception of American women and the violation of states’ constitutional rights by relying on faulty data to claim that there would be no increase in complications if abortion drugs were approved for mail-order.”
In 2000, when the FDA first addressed the use of mifepristone, numerous restrictions were put on the drug’s prescription and use. Then Barack Obama eliminated the requirement that the abortion drug be prescribed by a physician and consumed in-office, as well as the mandatory follow-up visit and reporting of complications.
Then Joe Biden pushed the pro-abortion ideology further, doing away with almost all of the remaining safeguards.
Sens. Lisa Murkowski. R-Alaska, and Susan Collins, R-Maine, were the only Republicans to refuse to cooperate.
‘Incredibly dangerous’: Feds warn Antifa threatening laser attacks on aircraft of the cozy cell awaiting them

The FBI’s Portland, Oregon, office laid out the potential penalties in an X post, indirectly responding to a leftist blog post first reported by the Daily Caller News Foundation that encouraged Portlanders to fill the skies with lasers aimed at law enforcement helicopters on Saturday. Those who use the tactic could be charged with aiming a laser pointer at an aircraft or even destruction of aircraft or aircraft facilities, which can bring up to five and 20 years behind bars, respectively, the FBI noted.
“This is incredibly dangerous for the aircraft personnel and for the public’s safety,” the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in a Thursday X post with a screenshot of the blog. “Antifa domestic terrorists WILL NOT overrun our cities. We will bust their networks and bring every one of them to justice.”
The blog site, “Rose City Counter-Info,” did not respond to the DCNF’s request for comment.
Federal prosecutors charged a man in Portland with allegedly shining a laser at a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) helicopter mid-flight in September. Such a tactic can impair pilots’ vision and make it unsafe to fly, an FBI agent warned in court documents for the case.
However, that appears to be the goal, according to Rose City Counter-Info’s Wednesday post.
“If enough lasers are pointed at the aircraft, we think it will not be able to safely stay in the air for long enough to continue to pinpoint the source for law enforcement, and numbers will make it difficult to focus on a single person,” says the anonymously-written call to action. “Be ready to dispose of the laser if you need to — wear gloves and clean it with alcohol in case you have to toss it in a hurry. Consider taking precautions to keep DNA off of it as well.”
“It won’t take many of us to ground the helicopters!” the post reads.
Rose City Counter-Info is also one of multiple “doxxing” websites revealing immigration agents’ names and home addresses in Oregon, the DHS said in July.
The announced Saturday attack would add to escalating threats against federal agents in amid months of violent protests and shootings in response to immigration enforcement in Portland and elsewhere.
A demonstration in Chicago, Illinois, last Saturday escalated to the point that individuals “rammed federal agents with their vehicles,” according to the DHS. “The scene became increasingly violent as more domestic terrorists gathered and began throwing smoke, gas, rocks, and bottles at DHS law enforcement,” the department said.
President Donald Trump aims to send National Guard troops to Chicago and Portland to address disorder and violence, but judges have temporarily blocked deployments to the liberal cities while legal challenges play out.

‘Massive blast’: Nearly 20 missing, multiple deaths feared, in Tennessee bomb factory explosion
Nearly 20 people are missing and multiple deaths are feared in an explosion at a Tennessee bomb factory.
Reports revealed that there is a list of 19 names of people missing after the disaster at the Accurate Energetic Systems plant at the Hickman-Humphreys county line west of Nashville.
County emergency responders confirmed 19 people were inside the building that was vaporized, and all remain missing.
The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has been called to the scene as there were concerns about subsequent explosions.
People in the area have been asked to avoid the location.
AES calls itself a “leader in the energetics and explosives industry.”

Reports confirmed the facility makes and stores explosives, including bulk explosives, shaped charges, demolition kits, and specialized items for military, defense, aerospace, demolition, mining, and oil industries.
