Yes, I Have Felt Like This
God’s Unexpected Ways
Lately, I’ve beenpondering what it means to truly trust God, to be patient, to wait expectantly for an answer to prayer, to hold onto hope when walking through the valley. Those are topics which every follower of Christ should ponder or meditate on at some point in their walk with the Lord. But the main reason these thoughts are rolling around inside of me is because of my work-in-progress (WIP).
The theme of my WIP is: “God sometimes keeps His promises in unexpected ways.”
I seldom begin writi...

Writing a Novel One Word at a Time
A book gets written one word at a time. The trick is to string enough of them together on a regular basis, day in and day out.
I made my word goal for the day before 2:00 and then got in a 40 minute walk on the treadmill. My goodness, I’m feeling ridiculously proud of myself. Perhaps because too often lately I’ve fallen short of my word goal and doing that just leads to stress. Ugh!
There’s been lots of discussion on one of my writers’ lists about the Downton Abbey finale. I am a HUGE fan of th...

We’re All Just a Mere Breath
This morning, over on Writes of Passage (where I blog with Tamera Alexander, Judith Miller, Kim Vogel Sawyer, Tracie Peterson, and Cathy Marie Hake), in answer to a challenge issued by Tracie, I posted my high school Senior photo, plus a few more to show the passing of time. Goodreads
I joined Goodreads several years ago, but I confess I never got very far with it.But I finally had some time and some incentive to familiarize myself with this social media platform for readers. I think I’ll get the hang of it.
Anyway, below are just five of my books listed and reviewed on Goodreads. If you are already a participant on Goodreads, I hope you’ll look me up.

My Journey as a Writer
Back in 2005, I decided to start a new blog that focused only on telling my writing journey, in the order it happened (to the best of my memory and with the help of my journals). I called the blog Fact and Fiction, and in it, I told my story, beginning with my early love of books up through 2006. At that point, I let the blog go dormant as I wasn’t sure I had anything more relevant to say.
Now that I have combined the posts from my four different blogs into this single location, I thought new...
Giving Thanks: Day 212
Today I am thankful to God for:
… the music playing softly in my office as I center my thoughts on the Lord.
… my DH, for more reasons than I could list.
… for Galatians 4:6, because He is teaching me more and more what it means for Him to be my Abba-Father!

Giving Thanks: Day 211
Today I’m thankful to God for:
… Scrivener software and the upcoming online class I’m signed up for so I can learn it even better than I know it now.
… the big red valentine heart and white kitten that are on my computer display desktop (just makes me feel happy to look at it).
… lemon creme sandwich cookies (I love to lick the filling).

A New Giveaway: Return to Me
Return to Me (Zondervan, 2007) is my “prodigal daughter and her perfect sister” story. And Roxy and Elena, for all of their problems and hang-ups, remain very special to me. I hope you’ll feel the same.
As stated in the Terms and Conditions, winners must have a US mailing address. Sorry, but the cost of mailing is too prohibitive to send elsewhere.
