The Dare Program 20 years later. More Drugs. Not Less. We warned you!
This article appeared in the National Review March 3, 1997
Our group of Parents concerned about the direction our education system was taking us brought it to the attention of the administration IN 1997. NOW 20 YEARS LATER ARE DRUGS MORE OF A PROBLEM OR LESS OF A PROBLEM?
It made no difference.
You see the loyalty of these people does not belong to the parents, citizens and students any longer, their fealty lies with the Colleges of Education where their future career might lead and with institutions and individuals who award opportunities for advancement within the system. It lies with the Politicians and Union leaders who advocate for more money and higher salaries regardless of the results in the classrooms. Why the answer is ALWAYS MORE MONEY! Using the children in the schools as advocates for their social justice programs because through those charity drives the leaders come out looking like the good guys because they met their financial goal to "do good" to "give back" to the community. The Great Irony Here is that by degrading ACADEMICS, decreasing class time and supplanting basics of education with indoctrination of social issues, they actually PRODUCE the product that needs the "giving back" services! No matter that the children were at risk going door to door to make sales. No matter that those children whose parents could not afford the magazines, Christmas cards/candy, support the "Fun Run" are the ones who get to stay in the classroom while others party. No matter that the teachers raise money for the charity du jour rewarding the students by throwing a pizza/pajama party where everyone will throw all dignity and self-respect out the window to parade around in pajamas I would not want my daughters to answer the door of their home in! And once again those who cannot afford this travesty stay in a study hall or such further wasting their education time for the supposedly worthy goal of "doing good" and "giving back."
I say, let's break the cycle of producing dependency by not doing our jobs as educators and ACTUALLY TEACH CHILDREN--THE ORIGINAL MISSION OF PUBLIC EDUCATION!
And so we create more generations of children unable to read well, write well, or calculate. But everyone is having fun and the schools are getting more money and the administrators feel really good about how well they are indoctrinating those children to be perfect little soldiers of Social Justice. And those of us who think the greatest charity of all would be actually equipping those children with the skills to be successful and not hanging out on the street corners because they cannot read, write or calculate are labeled Right Wing Wackos.
Have you any idea how many students must take REMEDIAL READING AND MATH at our Community Colleges? Have you any idea how many students have no concept of the chronology of the history of our country, the great events of history, are unable to read the Declaration of Independence because they do not know cursive?
Do you have any idea how many more children have been turned on to DRUGS because of the DARE PROGRAM. This report came out 20 years ago. And now we have an epidemic OPIOID problem. Our community services are stretched to the limit with ADDICTION.
THANK YOU DARE! THANK YOU SCHOOL SYSTEMS and PRIVATE SCHOOLS WHO ENDORSE PROGRAMS THAT PRODUCE THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT YOU PROFESS TO BE FIXING!
GOOD INTENTIONS DO NOT MAKE GOOD CURRICULUM!
And so now we are going to look at the "feel good" DARE PROGRAM.
I have attended way too many funerals of my children's friends to care about the niceties of tact. Children who would never have known where the drugs were, how much they cost or how to use them were given those tools in classrooms across America. Role playing, New Age imagery, values clarification all opened the door to the devastating influence of drugs and alcohol.

One of the things the DARE officer had told Darrin and his classmates was that they should inform the police if they ever saw anyone--including their parents --use drugs. The kids were shown a video that reinforced the point.
The anti-drug and anti-alcohol program called DARE is popular, well-financed and widespread. Started in 1983 by the Los Angeles Police Department and the L.A. School District, DARE haps quickly become the nation's standard anti-drug curriculum.
At the core of the DARE curriculum are seventeen weekly lessons taught in the fifth or sixth grade. The teachers are all uniformed cops trained by DARE.
But what most people don't know is that, in the past five years, study after study has shown that DARE does not seem to work. The studies have found that students who go through the program are just as likely to use drugs as those who don't. In fact, the results in one study even show the dreaded boomerang effect; DARE graduates are MORE likely tu use marijuana. Behavioral scientists have begun to question with increasing vigor, whether DARE is little more than a feel-good scheme of enormous proportions. As one researcher put it: "DARE is the world's biggest pet rock. IF it makes us feel good to spend the money on nothing, that's okay, but everyone should know DARE does nothing." None of this is a secret among drug policy experts and reporters who cover drug policy' some of the studies have been available for years.
"What you have to understand is that DARE is almost a billion dollar industry. If you found out that a food company's foods were rotten, they'd be out of business," says Mount Holyoke Sociology and criminology professor Richard Moran. "What's now been found out is that DARE is running the biggest fraud in America. That's why they've gone nuts." DARE has become so well-known for the hardball tactics it employs to shut down its critics that drug researchers and journalists have a word for those hushed--they say they've been "Dared."
Let's just say this was a very expensive mistake for The Washington Post," he says, the tone of satisfaction clear in his Southern drawl.
DARE spokesman Ralph Lockridge doesn't deny his organization gave the Post false information, and he doesn't apologize either. "Just because [the Davises} weren't convicted in court doesn't mean they're not guilty of it," Lochridge told me.
"Dare exposure does not produce any long-term prevention efforts on adolescent use rates."
What about the more touchy-feely results? Again the sociologists found no statistical differences. Using questionnaires to examine self-esteem and "locus of control," a common psychology test that measures susceptibility to peer pressure, they found numbers so similar for the two groups that any differences were again within the margin of error."
Now here, let me say, WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE THEY DOING ADMINISTERING QUESTIONAIRES TO EXAMINE SELF-ESTEEM AND LOCUS OF CONTROL IN CLASSROOMS? THESE WERE CERTIFIED PSYCHOTHERAPISTS IN THOSE CLASSROOMS OBSERVING THE EFFECTS ON INDIVIDUAL CHILDREN?
ARE THERE NO HIPPA LAWS OR FERPA LAWS THAT PROHIBIT SUCH PSYCHOLOGICAL INTRUSION INTO THE MINDS OF OUR CHILDREN?

Parents, teachers and school board didn't care. DIDN'T CARE. DO YOU SEE THAT? PARENTS, TEACHERS AND SCHOOL BOARD DIDN'T CARE THAT IT DIDN'T WORK!!!!
So, what happens to researchers who try to make the research public?
"Daniel says that, within a week, a local DARE official called him at homeand asked to see the data. Daniel says he freely showed the informaion to him. That, he says, resulted in a "big argument with lost of yelling." Two weeks later Daniel says he received a call from his department chairman. the chairman told him that the local DARE official had complained that Daniel was offering kids marijuana as a part of his study. Daniel says the allegations are false, but that he immediately stopped work on the DARE study, and returned to lab animals. "That could have been, and still might be, a career killer," Daniel says. "Dare has made it so I will never venture out of the lab again."
I can surely relate to that. I have been accused of being a member of the Ku Klux Klan for trying to get Phonics back in the schools. Of being a "flat-earther" and a "disgruntled ex-teacher."
Disgusted is more like it. I will own up to that.
Their major worry? "If DARE fails, it ill be making a statement about all prevention programs."
And there you have it. That would include CONFLICT RESOLUTION, SEX EDUCATION, DEATH EDUCATION, PET EDUCATION, ETC.! ALL POWERFUL LOBBIES AND DRAINS ON EDUCATION DOLLARS AND ACADEMIC TIME.
What got RTI in trouble in the most hot water is that they said other programs work better," says Moran, the Mount Holyoke sociologist. In other words, RTI found that DARE is not merely a failure in itself, but crowds out money for programs that actually keep kids off drugs.
DARE DOESN'T CURTAIL DRUG USE.
Drug researchers interviewed about Myers scenes are dismissive. "That role play is absurd. If the kids learn anything at all from it, they learn not to buy drugs from police officers," one researcher says. "Making it more interactive means making it more like real life. This is not useful. Fun, maybe. Useful? Nope.
And Myers's class is typical. When I asked him if other DARE instructors did it differently, he was adamant in response. "No. The great thing about this program is that everyone in the country is trained the same way," Myers told me. "We ae told to go exactly by the book. There is no room for modifying the program. No way. It's the same everywhere."
In fact, the most controversial part of the program-- the DARE box -- has remained unchanged despite years of criticism about this systematic attempt to encourage children to rat out the grown-ups around them, including their own parents. After the first class, the students, following DARE instructions, fashion a shoe box into a colorful mailbox, often decorated with DARE stickers. Each week from then on, for the entire sixteen weeks, students are encouraged to write anonymous notes asking any question they want. They are also allowed to accuse people of using or selling drugs of committing sexual abuse. These accusatory notes may also be anonymous. At the end of every DARE class, the officer reads the questions out loud. The officer does not read the accusatory notes to the class, but those notes are referred to the appropriate school and police investigative units for action. As James Board joined out, Darrin Davis is not an isolated case. DARE students have fingered their parents in Maryland, Oklahoma and Wisconsins. In 1991, a 10 year old told a Colorado 911 operator, "I'm a DARE kid," and urged the police to arrest his parents for marijuana possession. After his parents were arrested, the cop assigned to his school publicly praised him.
Parents and scientists in dozens of states have attached the DARE box, saying that it reminds them of Stalinists rewarding kids for ratting on their parents.
In the end, DARE has an answer that trumps all. Even if there is some truth to the charges that DARE doesn't work, what this means is that we need ... more DARE. "Well if you teach people fractions or a foreign language, it's going to erode unless you reinforce it," Lochridge explains. "So the answer is more DARE. Kids need to get it more." And doubtless they will, whether it does them any good or not.

Each week from then on, for the entire sixteen weeks, students are encouraged to write anonymous notes asking any question they want. They are also allowed to accuse people of using or selling drugs of committing sexual abuse. These accusatory notes may also be anonymous. At the end of every DARE class, the officer reads the questions out loud. The officer does not read the accusatory notes to the class, but those notes are referred to the appropriate school and police investigative units for action. As James Board joined out, Darrin Davis is not an isolated case. DARE students have fingered their parents in Maryland, Oklahoma and Wisconsins. In 1991, a 10 year old told a Colorado 911 operator, "I'm a DARE kid," and urged the police to arrest his parents for marijuana possession. After his parents were arrested, the cop assigned to his school publicly praised him.
Parents and scientists in dozens of states have attached the DARE box, saying that it reminds them of Stalinists rewarding kids for ratting on their parents.
In the end, DARE has an answer that trumps all. Even if there is some truth to the charges that DARE doesn't work, what this means is that we need ... more DARE. "Well if you teach people fractions or a foreign language, it's going to erode unless you reinforce it," Lochridge explains. "So the answer is more DARE. Kids need to get it more." And doubtless they will, whether it does them any good or not.

Merry Christmas! Meet Alliwishus, the Elf Mother Met at the Battle of the Bulge!

Jean Bronson Gillis Burson became acquainted with
Alliwishus
who told the story to her children and is now written as imagined by her daughter
Sharman Burson Ramsey.
The story you are about to read is true. Some names have been changed to protect the innocent.
The name is Aloysius I. Wishus. Friends call me Alliwishus.
This is the city. Santaland. The North Pole. I work here. I am an elf. I wear a green tassled hat.
There are many stories in the city. This is mine.
I served hundreds of years as a Messenger in the Warrior Branch of the Guardian Angels dreaming of the day I would advance to being a Warrior Angel. But, no matter how many buckets of rain I lifted, I could not get strong enough to throw a lightning bolt. I was way too little to be a Warrior Angel like I really wanted to be. I only got laughed at when I showed up for the tryouts. They were very loving laughs, to be sure. Fond chuckles, perhaps. After all, these were heavenly beings. It was embarrassing all the same.
So when The Master approved the idea of everyone giving to others on His birthday and set up Santa Service to help carry this out, I saw this as my opportunity. It was the job of all the elves in this branch of Santa Service to plant in the hearts of parents and fellow men the desire to fulfill the wishes and prayers of little children, the most vulnerable of all human beings. I am now a member of the Wishus clan and proudly wear the coveted green cap. Our badge of service.

I work out of the Reading Room at Santa's Workshop in the uncharted regions of the North Pole. Usually the frigid air didn't faze me where I sit there on my stool. But that day I felt cold right down to my very bones. The chubby cheeks and the tip of the cute long, turned up nose belonging to my friend Alisha Wishus, whose stool was directly opposite mine at the table, were reddened with the bite of the frost. I knew mine probably were too. Ali never looked up. Alexander did. And scowled ferociously at me.
But, it wasn't Alisha not even knowing my name, or Alexander’s attitude, or even the weather that chilled me most; it was the despair in the letters I read and the prayers of my charges that I passed on to The Master.
December 20, 1944
Dear Santa,
All I want is my daddy home for Christmas.

The letters came in English, French, German, Russian, Italian . . . nearly every language spoken on the face of the earth. Yet the message was the same. Daddies and brothers were on the killing fields. Those who loved them wanted a miracle.
At the same time it seemed the prayers of all in my charge reached me with such a force it reminded me of the last time Halley's Comet passed the earth. They struck me like a typhoon with a vortex so empty it threatened to suck all the hope from the world. Reluctantly, I passed the prayers on to the Master. I knew the pain the Master felt at the evil in the hearts of men that brought the children such suffering.
Finally, I decided enough was enough. I had sat there on the stool long enough. So I slid down the leg of my stool clutching a sheaf of letters tightly in my fist. I flipped the white tassel on the end of my cap out of my eyes. I marched determinedly to the Main Office. The bells on the end of my turned up shoes jingled with false cheer.
Once again I wished I were bigger, more imposing. Who would believe a tiny little thing like me could really make a difference? I only knew I had to try!

Santa, wearing work jeans and a flannel shirt instead of his dress velvet and fur, sat upon a worn overstuffed wing chair on a dais in the center of the control room. Around him were hundreds of monitors scanning the earth. Santa's usually cheery countenance today matched my own mournful look. The kindness and compassion that gleamed from Santa's warm brown eyes under his shaggy white brows encouraged me so I straightened myself to my full six inch height and cleared my throat.
"Sir, I know the Warrior Angels told us to stay out of the War Zone. But my charges need me. I know their voices like no other. Doing something . . . anything . . . is better than sitting around doing nothing!"
"AlliWishus, surely you realize how important your work is right here. The Master needs you to quicken within humans the desire to love their fellow man. It is the most important work that can possibly be done."
"Yes, sir, I realize that, but long distance is not my style," I said, puffing out my chest, hoping Santa would notice how much stronger I had become lifting all those buckets of rain drops. "It's been a long time since I made my rounds in that part of the world, sir."
Santa stared at the monitor focused on the Ardennes Forest of Belgium near Luxembourg. "War is the great cancer of the world. So much suffering . . . and yet they waste their talents and their resources inventing even more horrible weapons."
As Santa indicated the monitor he had been watching, I saw many of my charges of every nation fighting one another. Above them, unseen by the earthly combatants, I watched ferocious spiritual warriors, the forces of Good and Evil. I knew only the prayers of the godly would shift the direction of the battle.
Something compelled me toward that war zone. I would not, could not, back down. I took a deep breath and clenched my fist. "I simply must go, sir."
I could see that Santa was about to say "no" when a light started flashing on the headpiece Santa wore. Santa put his finger to his earpiece and nodded. With a look of surprise, he turned to me and said, "Permission is granted. The Master has called you to special duty." Then with a nod of his head and with a twinkle of affection in his eye, Santa dismissed me.
As the door closed behind me, I heard Santa mumble to himself, "Such a great spirit for such a little being."
I sighed in relief and then hurried back to the Reading Room where I grabbed my green quilted cape and carefully pulled my wings through the slits. Then I rode the escalator up to the Telekinetic Teleport on the roof of the remodeled Workshop. Before you could say "Rudolph" I was transported to the site of the German counterattack against the American troops.
The sight was so distressing that I did not notice the thunderbolt thrown by an Angel of Darkness that caught me in the left wing hurling me through the air. I tumbled down into the snow, my wing hanging uselessly behind me.
So this is pain, I thought. This is what human beings fear so.
I winced. In spite of the pain I felt closer than ever to those I'd come to serve. I now realized why The Master felt He had to come to Earth as a man.
Lying there in the snow with a broken wing, in the middle of a bomb gutted village in France was not exactly the time to be philosophical, I thought to myself. I had things to do. But there was nothing to do except lie there until the monitors scanned me and help was sent.

Meanwhile, one of the American nurses who had landed at Cherbourg after the D-Day invasion the previous January was having a bad day as well. Jean Gillis had been immediately assigned to a hospital train that traveled from the front lines back to Paris and then to Cherbourg to deliver injured soldiers to transport ships bound for England or America for more intensive care. Not the romantic France of my teenage day dreams, she thought as she trudged through the snow back to her quarters after receiving the stiff tongue lashing from her superior.
She had a few hours off so when an officer, King Kallen, invited her to go for a ride, she accepted. A motor cycle! Being on a battlefield halfway around the world can make a South Alabama girl do things she would have had sense enough not to do at home. Even though she was wearing just about every piece of clothing the Army issued its nurses, she was still shivering. Yet while speeding through the snow covered town, for a few minutes there was a peace in her soul...a while to forget the war, the misery, the mangled men too young to die, and the unnamed heaviness.
They rode through the empty streets of the battle scarred village with the icy wind whipping their faces turning their eyelashes turn into icicles. She smiled recklessly when King laughed as he booted the speed making her squeal.
"Just hang on tight," he teased.
"Stop this thing! I want to get off!" she hollered, embarrassing herself with the high pitched squeal that followed. King just gave a deep macho laugh and went faster.
Hold on!" When he turned his attention back to the road, he saw they were right on a puddle
"Hang on!" he'd yelled as they hit the slush. The motorcycle went out of control, immediately sending them into a slide. Jean went flying off the motorcycle. She tumbled over and over and landed right at the feet of Captain Chadwick, the head of nursing.
Humiliated, she looked up at her commanding officer, totally unable to get up. Bound as she was by layers of clothing all she could do was flutter like a turtle flipped on its back. Captain Chadwick looked down her long patrician nose at her, that country bumpkin nurse under her command. King rushed over to help while she fluttered helplessly and spun occasionally on the ice at Chadwick's feet.
"Don't touch me!" she'd told King Kallen as he tried to get a grip around her padded body and pull her to her feet. How dare he get her in that situation just because he had to show off! The Captain reached down to give her a hand with no trace of amusement or understanding on her face.
"Back to quarters, Lieutenant Gillis," the Captain ordered. "On foot!"
Bruised and embarrassed she waddled...waddled!!!...back toward the hotel in which she was quartered with as much dignity as her bruised and extremely well-padded body could muster. It was because of the bruises and the care she took with her steps that she saw me.
"Help!" I called.
She stopped and looked around, but saw nothing.
"Down here," I said.
There, only inches from her army issue boots, I lay, to her eyes a tiny creature with gossamer wings that shone brightly and then began to flicker. I laughed as Jean wiped her eyes, thinking snowflakes and her bumped head were causing her eyes to play tricks on her. She blinked hard and when she looked back, I was still there. Even my eyes ached with the pain. Curious, she lifted me gently from the snow and brought me close to her face. I knew her well, though she had never seen me before. I smiled and nestled even more trustingly in the palm of her hand. I had the advantage. I could read her thoughts.
“What am I doing,” she muttered to herself. “Nursing manuals don’t cover elves. This is crazy.
They don’t cover them because they don’t exist!” she reminded herself. “Then what is this warm light in my hand?”
She looked around wondering if she looked as foolish as she felt. Who would believe her if she were to ask for help from someone else? Captain Callahan would have her committed to the mental ward. She scurried through the darkness back to the nurses' quarters in the quaint hotel. There she laid me on the examining table in the dispensary they had set up in one of the conference rooms. All she could find was a tongue depressor to set my fragile wing.
The little creature might not be real, she thought, but he certainly felt real in her hands and the pain on his face was real enough to pull at her heart.
"So, where do you come from, little one?" she asked, as I grimaced. "And how does one tend to a fiction of one's imagination?" Being in France in the middle of a war zone wasn't exactly the sanest thing she'd ever done any way you looked at it. Besides, somehow, strange as it was, the tiny creature seemed almost familiar.
I didn’t get my feelings hurt. I’d made great effort not to be discovered when I was about my task.
Well, I’ll just have to improvise, she mumbled. The nuns, her teachers back at Saint Margaret's Hospital in Montgomery where I trained in Nursing, always thought I was crazy. But even they had never dreamed I would presume to nurse an elf back to health!
I groaned so Jean crushed a granule of aspirin in a spoon and added a dash of Coke. I sipped the nectar and licked my lips.
What now, she thought? If I leave him and he rolls off the table someone might step on him. There was nothing to do but carry me to her room she finally decided.
There she placed me on a pile of gauze in her duffel bag. I knew she slept little that night worried about me, her vulnerable, very tiny, new friend. But, even I could tell that the dull light around me grew brighter as the night wore on.
The next morning she was supposed to set out for another tour on the hospital train. She lifted the duffel in which I lay as carefully as she could. I could tell the knot on her head from the motor cycle accident the day before throbbed and gave her pain. She wondered…was she imagining . . . But, there I sat … on top of the sheets and towels in the duffel bag, glimmering away on a pile of gauze. Her strange encounter of the night before. I grinned at her.
Might as well enjoy the experience, I figured.
She shook her head and secured the duffel in the corner of her assigned compartment on the train, which, luckily, she was to occupy alone.
She did for me what she did for other patients, force fluids and make me as comfortable as possible. She shared an aspirin with me. With an eye dropper she gave me drops of something she called Coca Cola. I wrinkled my face at the unfamiliar taste, burped and then licked my lips.
“More, please,” I said, smacking my lips as we did in the North Pole to indicate my desire for more.
I asked, "What nectar is this? Is it from some flower I do not know?"
Jean giggled.
"No," she answered. "A druggist invented this in Columbus, Georgia, and served it at his soda fountain. Folks from all over liked it so much somebody got the idea of bottling it."
She caught herself talking to me. Sure and begorra, she thought, her Scots-Irish heritage was coming out. Talking to the wee ones, she was. No doubt if anyone walked past it would look as if she were talking to herself!
I chuckled at her thoughts but didn’t say anything. I didn’t want her to know I had that power.
"We've never had it in the North Pole," I said.
A sudden pain caught me and she saw me wince. She gave me another granule of aspirin--and then swallowed the rest herself. The strange light that surrounded me grew steadier as I, the odd little creature as she thought of me, gained strength.
Jean closed the door to the compartment and using only the light of a torch she called a flashlight hurried to join the nurses in checking the supplies for their run to the front lines.
The horrible sounds of war exploded around us. Planes issued a stacatto of bullets and the ground shook with explosions. I don't know if I really heard the agonizing screams of injured men and women or just knew it in my soul but the pain of their pain was nearly unbearable. I grew more and more impatient to get to my work.
Our train was shrouded with darkness and puffed bravely on to tend those courageous men who fought the evil that threatened to extinguish those human beings they thought inferior. As if the Master ever wasted His time creating anyone or thing inferior!
Jean rubbed the knot on the back of her head. Did he say North Pole? She dared say nothing to the other nurses; they would think she had come down with battle fatigue and would put her in one of the beds their injured soldiers needed so badly.
A sharp pain shot through her head and she considered consulting a doctor herself. A tiny elf from the North Pole sipping Coca Cola with aspirin and glowing stronger by the minute sounded like a hallucination. There wasn't time, even if she was so inclined. She had to make sure all the windows were covered and not a sliver of light showed. The train had to be completely shrouded so that it would not be spotted from above and bombed.
Back in the compartment I grew more and more anxious. I had felt drawn to this area for some reason and now when I needed my strength I was wounded and out of action, something that had never before happened to me!
It took six hours for us to get to the front. Then, with bombs exploding around us, Jean got busy loading patients, stacking stretchers in racks three patients high. Those able to walk occupied compartments with seven other patients. From the moment they loaded, she was busy administering what pain medicine they had, answering their cries for water, changing dressings . . . just trying to make them as comfortable as possible in the dark jolting train.
Yet, busy as she was, several times she ran back to the compartment to give me a dropper of the precious Coca Cola with a granule of aspirin.
We were smack dab in the middle of one the most vicious battles of World War II in Belgium...the Battle of the Bulge. I caught the thoughts of many of my charges as I lay there. Something was about to happen. I tested my wing. Though still weak and unsteady I managed to lift myself from the duffel. I followed Jean into the darkened corridor.
I lifted each man and woman there up to the Master in prayer. But none of them were the reason for my being there. My heart ached for them. The worst cases were burns. The Infantry had come to fear the flame throwers so much that they had trained Point Men who specialized in sneaking up behind the enemy flame throwers to choke them with a jerk of a neck. Their fellow soldiers relied upon the instinct and quickness of the Point Men to protect them from the agonizing effects of the sudden burst of flames that could envelope an entire squadron.
My heart pounded and I felt the same urgency that had drawn me to this place.
The only light on the rocking train was in the beam of light from the torches carried by the nurses. It was such a "torch" that Jean carried. She did not realize it looked like a flame that Point Men were trained to zero in on.
A Point Man's failure could mean death to his company. I almost didn’t recognize him. He was a gentle, lonely boy, an only child who lived with his parents on a farm. He'd prayed for friends. He found them when he joined the Army. But Joey had seen his entire platoon destroyed just hours before. He had jumped frantically into the midst of his burning friends to try and save them. But it was impossible. He only knew he lived ... and they were dead. The fact that he could have done nothing that would have saved them mattered. He'd failed his friends and in his mind the shock of seeing his friends killed obliterated everything else.
Jean struggled down the corridor carrying medications to the men stacked in cots in the compartments. The light pierced the Point Man's consciousness and all of his training focused itself on the source of the potential danger. With each step danger came closer and closer in the disturbed mind of the soldier.
Joey squatted in the corridor directly in front of the advancing torch. He waited patiently. His target had surprised him and his friends once. He would not fail them again.
Stealthily, in spite of his own grave burns and injuries, acquired when he'd tried to smother the flames on his friends, he rose to fulfill his mission. Exhausted, Jean reached out to steady herself with the hand holding the flashlight as she swayed with the train while still balancing the tray in one hand. Suddenly, from the darkness, appeared a grotesque face with clawlike hands reaching toward her, only inches from her neck. She was frozen with fear and could not make a sound.
In her terror she saw a tiny glimmer of light beside the man's face. Amazingly she heard a soft voice whisper, "Joey, Joey. Time for bed, now. Santa's on his way. Joey's been a good boy and Santa knows about the train he wants for Christmas. Sit and sleep."
Miraculously, the anger and fear that had contorted the man's face now relaxed into its natural boyish contours. He couldn't have been more than eighteen or nineteen. Yet only moments before the hate and rage of war had given him the look of the gargoyles carved into the Gothic cathedrals that dotted the country.
Jean leaned against the wall suddenly breathless. The light came and rested upon her shoulder.
I sighed deeply and said. "He is one of my charges. It is only recently that he quit writing me his letters."
"His is one of the many voices that called me into this darkness," I told her sadly.
I had much to do. I had succeeded here. But my task was immense.
The light flickered and Jean knew my strength was waning. "Thank you for coming when you did. But, you're too weak to be up. Let me take you back." Imaginary or not, her danger had been real, and this figment of her imagination, or Santa's elf, had saved her.
"Another drop of that strange nectar?" I whispered.
In spite of her fear she smiled. Strange thoughts whirled through her head. But she was too busy to ask questions then and he was too weak to talk.
Later when all the injured were settled on the transport ships headed for hospitals in England, we settled again in the hotel in Cherbourg where the nurses were quartered. We both slept soundly for hours. When she awoke she found me sitting in the duffel flexing his uninjured wing.
"I can fly with only one wing as you saw last night. It is terribly awkward and so I must exercise to build strength. I am needed," I tried to explain.
At last she understood. She would only have a short time to ask the many questions that seemed so important. "Can you tell me about yourself?"
He continued his flexes as he answered, "My name is Alli Wishus and I am in Santa Service."
"Santa Service? Why . . . that's only make-believe."
"Now, Jean," he said to her amazement, "I have heard all your hopes and dreams sitting in the limbs of the Mimosa tree right outside your window. I listen to prayers as well as read letters."
Jean's emerald green eyes grew wide with amazement. How could he know so much about her?
"But, what are you doing here?" she asked when she finally could speak.
“I was watching my charges around the world and knew the dangers around you. I was not paying attention to the dangers around me.”
“I thought I had accidentally caught that lightning bolt hurled by the Angel of Darkness. But, I guess I was exactly where The Master wanted me because I found you and Joey.”
Sadness clouded his face. "It seems there is so little I can do. Yet, as I did for Joey tonight, I can remind them of a Love that brings Peace. Wars are won, not on the battlefields, but in the hearts of men. If men can conquer the evil within themselves, then the collective evil of War need never be fought. Only Love can conquer the Darkness that would destroy the Master's own."
"You, your children, and your children's children are on my list. Remind them to be very good. They will never know when I'll be sitting outside their window," he told her.
"And please, leave some of that bottled nectar out for Santa Claus on Christmas Eve!"

"And that is how I met Alliwishus," said Grandmother. "And that is what he told me."
"Is Alliwishus watching us now, Grandmother?" asked Brooke as she pulled her thumb from her mouth and wriggled to get more comfortable on her grandmother’s lap.
"I see him! I see him!" her five year old brother, Drew, yelled jumping up and down in front of the picture window.
"That was the Hannahan's car lights. Wasn't it, Grandmother?" said Cecily, her mature seven year old granddaughter sitting on the stool at her feet.
"Maybe, maybe not," she answered. They all sat still and watched the lights from the fire in the fireplace and the cars on the street flicker on the wall.
"I'll get the Coke and put it with some cookies, Grandmother," Cecily finally said, giving in to her doubts.
From watching the nightly news Grandmother knew Alliwishus' letters would now come from Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Somalia, Korea, Los Angeles . . . strange exotic sounding places, and some too close to home. Hatred, fear and terror still trampled the earth. Yet the still small voice and the tiny glimmer of light never ceased bringing hope unto a hopeless world.

It was Christmas again, more than fifteen years later, and now the grandson she’d told of Alliwishus wore the same uniform she had worn when she’d discovered the tiny elf in the snow in the far-off land. Saber rattling in the Middle East threatened to take that young man to more battlefields far away.

She leaned back in her chair and thought of the fears she had for his safety. Then she remembered the Darkness of that fearful train and the Light of God’s Love that had pierced the darkness. She smiled at a light that flickered from the magnolia outside her window. Coca Cola and cookies lay on the table before her.

The angel of the Lord came down

"Fear not," he said,
For mighty dread
Had seized their troubled minds

My Mother. My hero who won a Battle Ribbon at the Battle of the Bulge. December 16, 1944. A SCRAPBOOK LOOK FROM JEAN BRONSON GILLIS BURSON.

JOHN PATRICK GILLIS , SGT. WWI AND MEX. BORDER DI, b. September 14, 1898, Southern Pines N.C.; d. June 11, 1934, Escambia County, buried Union Cemetery, Brewton, Al.; m. CLARE EUNICE JERNIGAN, June 20, 1920, Escambia County, Alabama.

He was a SGT. WWI AND MEX. BORDER DI: serving with Co. "G" 123rd U.S. Infantry 1st Al. Infantry for duty on Mexican Border
He was a handsome man, very tall who adored his wife and children.
He married Clare Eunice Jernigan, a descendant of Benjamin and Vashti Vann Jernigan, sent to settle in the Burnt Corn area to herd cattle for Benjamin's friend, Andrew Jackson, who anticipated having to fight the Spanish. Ironically Vashti Vann, Eunice's great grandmother, was Cherokee Indian, a descendant of Powhatan through his daughter Cleopatra who married Powhatan's brother Opechancanough who later became Powhatan himself. She was the great great granddaughter of the Squirrel King of the Chickasaw of whom Edward Cashin wrote in Guardians of the Valley.

Jean Bronson Gillis Burson, my mother, the oldest of his eventual family of five was born May 11, 1921 in Brewton, Alabama. Not long after, her little brother, Jim, was born and this engineer who studied at the University of Alabama and graduated from Auburn where Mother was born, settled his family in Brewton, Alabama, very near his mother, Josephine Newkirk Gillis, and father, James Knox Gillis.


Unfortunately, tragedy struck when Mother was 13 years old. It was Saturday, the chain broke on the log truck her father was in and the logs came into the cabin killing him immediately. The weekend before he had sat before their radio with Eunice listening to the Old Time Gospel Hour. Moved by the words of the "Old Rugged Cross" he told Eunice, "When I die, I want them to sing that song."



That song was sung way too soon, but those words had great impact on the future of those children. Sharing his faith, my grandmother moved from their home on the boundary of the town to one situated halfway between the Presbyterian Church and the School.

Jean was just 13, but she went to work as soon as possible down at the 5 & 10 store keeping their books.
Jean, Jim, Sylvia, Virginia, and Patricia grew up a close knit family. When Jean graduated from T R Miller High School, she asked her Sunday School teacher to go with her down to the bank to borrow money to go to Nursing School. Her dear brother bought her a suitcase with money saved from his paper route.
She graduated from St. Margaret's in Montgomery just as her own brother got orders to go into the Army. The thought of others caring for her beloved brother made her determined to do the same for whomever she could


Patriotism is in our blood having served in every war from the very beginning of our country and WWII was no different.



She joined the 165 Hospital Division and set sail to LeHavre.

Here you have Jean on the rail track, perhaps when she left the train to buy some eggs (a rarity) from a farmer on the side of the road. Her friend would not tell the engineer to slow until she promised to share

And then the war was over. Mother was assigned to Augusta General where my father, Dr. Elkanah George Burson, was stationed. Trained at Walter Reed as an anesthesiologist, he had been sent home from Leyte in the Philippines because of pleurisy. He wanted to be a neurosurgeon. Unfortunately, all residencies were taken before he was released.
And so he was there when the “most beautiful woman I ever saw” walked into the Officer’s Club.


My father set out across the state and at the recommendation of his brother-in-law, Claude Williams, he visited Dothan, Alabama. "That's a growing place," Daddy was told by Claude, a salesman who traveled the state frequently.
He met Oliver Bentley at the Shell Station who told him to go down to Dothan Drug and talk to Grady Watford. He settled as a General Practitioner in Dothan into an office above Dothan Drug where John Martin (survivor of the Bataan Death March), Dr. William Ball (pediatrician), Quay Fortner (insurance) also had offices. It was 1947. He went to Brewton one Sunday and asked Mother to marry him. He brought her home to their apartment and wound up delivering three babies that night.

Daddy (born July 4, 1918) retired in 1988 at 70. Mother died on July 16th, 2010. Daddy followed December 22, 2011.
Oh to be worthy of the two who raised me.
I have included the pictures from my mother's collection to make them available to those who might recognize someone or be able to use them for historical purposes. These were heroes who served and many gave all so that we might have the freedoms we enjoy. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. They were both willing.

Leonard Cohen Hallelujah Project at Bay High School and the Establishment Religion, Secular Humanism, in our Schools


Of course, my antennae is always up when they discuss their teachers and classes.
One of the greatest pieces of music ever written is Handel's Messiah. It is an English-language oratorio composed in 1741 by George Frideric Handel, with a scriptural text compiled by Charles Jennens from the King James Bible, and from the version of the Psalms included with the Book of Common Prayer. It was first performed in Dublin on 13 April 1742.
So, I guess since it was written with a scriptural text that makes this music unacceptable to the public schools. Although, I must admit, when I chose to take these precious young ladies to the Bay High Gymnasium to sing Hallelujah as advertised in the Panama City News Herald and elsewhere, I thought it would be the traditional, very moving piece of cultural literacy in which the entire community would be participating. Donated food went towards "Blessings in a Backpack" and donated toys went towards "Stuff the Bus." It was billed as a very worthy project of providing for the children who might suffer from not having free meals at the schools and I was pleased to donate.
I was delighted to invite my granddaughter to this event beginning our annual quest for the perfect Christmas gift for my dear one. I, and others who attended, were looking forward to participating with the community and students introducing them to this masterpiece of music and lifting our voices to the joyous music.
Those who came for that were disappointed.
How did this idea begin?
According to the Panama City News Herald (Dec. 15, 2016) last year’s event came about as related below.
"The inaugural Bay County Hallelujah Project invites people of all ages, ethnicities and walks of life to sing Leonard Cohen’s solemn “Hallelujah” chorus at the Bay High School gym as part of an event that aims to bring together the community.
PANAMA CITY — The students and staff at Bay District Schools want to hear you sing Saturday — even if you can’t carry a tune.
The inaugural Bay County Hallelujah Project invites people of all ages, ethnicities and walks of life to sing Leonard Cohen’s solemn “Hallelujah” chorus at the Bay High School gym as part of an event that aims to bring together the community.
“We’ve got teachers and principals who will be a part of ‘the band’ as well and are really hoping for a truly diverse crowd of singers and non-singers who will come together for a common cause,” said Bay District Schools Human Resources Executive Director Sharon Michalik, the project’s creator.
Michalik said the idea came to her after the November elections, when she was scrolling through Facebook and came across a video from Canada of people singing Cohen’s song. She was struck by the performance, especially the diversity of the crowd, and decided recreating that in Bay County would be a hopeful antidote after a political season that bitterly divided the country."
So the event has a political agenda.
I must say that as a teacher and a parent/grandparent I was shocked by the song. What did the lyrics mean?
That was not what most of us who came to participate expected drawn there by the marketing efforts of Stacey Shanklin, a Bay High teacher and adviser for "MAAD5." The "MAAD" stands for Marketing, Artistry, and Design, subject with which in my old age I am unfamiliar. Beautiful smiles on precious students always make my heart sing as an old warhorse of the classroom. We were blissfully unfamiliar with Cohen's version.
Is MAAD5 an extra-curricular subject?
I am an old lady now. I cannot help but wonder how this fits in the disciplines one used to study to prepare one for the future. But, that has little to do with this post, except for the fact that those students were led to believe this to be a worthy cause. And I agree providing for hungry children IS a worthy cause. We must also be in constant guard for their minds and souls.
So, what is the message of the lyrics to which we were all invited together to lift our voices?
"...an antidote to a bitterly divided country"?
I did a bit of research. These lyrics and commentary come from the Internet. As you can see from the copy I scanned, we were given an abbreviated version to sing. But, this recommended piece of "music" is now firmly imprinted in the mental rolodex of in the minds of those children--I know it is in mine!

Canadian Leonard Cohen explained: "Hallelujah is a Hebrew word which means 'Glory to the Lord.' The song explains that many kinds of Hallelujahs do exist. I say: All the perfect and broken Hallelujahs have an equal value.
[For others, we talk about the evolution of a relationship through a metaphor that mixes sex and religion.
The lines referring to the immaculate conception can also be interpreted as having a sexual connotation: "And every breath we drew was hallelujah." Leonard Cohen explained: "Hallelujah is a Hebrew word which means 'Glory to the Lord.' The song explains that many kinds of Hallelujahs do exist.
It has become a mainstay of live shows by Cohen's fellow Canadian singer-songwriter, kd langThe English singer and songwriter Kathryn Williams once introduced her version of Hallelujah in a live show by saying, "I really, really, really want to shag Leonard Cohen." Cohen has said of the song's meaning: "It explains that many kinds of hallelujahs do exist, and all the perfect and broken hallelujahs have equal value."
This is "healing"?
Well, there you have it. Secular Humanism at its best. Rather than elevate the thoughts and aspirations of our children, with political correctness we bring in a community “flash crowd” to join in lifting up a hedonistic, anti-Christian bit of "music" to help bring about the agenda of this Leftist Movement in our public schools.
We are no longer people with souls and goals, we are confined to the moral relativism of our current situation, an educational theory against which I have long railed.

It’s not a cry that you hear at nightIt’s not somebody who’s seen the lightIt’s a cold and it’s a broken Hallelujah.
I am appalled that the Bay District Schools would choose to sponsor such drivel. I am sorry that I took my granddaughter and her friend to participate in this travesty, regardless of the idealistic goal of helping children. Just the fact that the Human Resources Executive Director, the woman who hires the teachers who teach our children, thought this was appropriate to “bring a community together” truly concerns me.
This, folks, is the worldview of your schools. You wonder why there is so much sex, drugs and violence in our schools and community? Perhaps it is the existential nihilism that life has no intrinsic meaning or value in the literature chosen by your Board of Education and "taught" by the teachers who share this worldview that leads these children to doubt and despair. With respect to the universe, existential nihilism posits that a single human or even the entire human species is insignificant, without purpose and unlikely to change in the totality of existence. That seems to be the essence of the Leonard Cohen Hallelujah brought to us by the Human Resources Director of Bay District Schools.
I do know that when I left this event discussing secular humanism (a term with which neither were familiar) with my two companions, they both reflected the words of that song. Moral relativism. There may be any of several philosophical positions concerned with the differences in moral judgments across different people and cultures. No absolutes.

The real meaning of those words did not occur to me until someone pointed out to me the connection between the SNL COLD OPEN the week of the November 8th 2016 election.
This appears to have been a blatant political act of the "resistance" channeling the SNL election week Cold Open. The first came in December 15, 2016, directly after the SNL event. And now this is the second annual event. Do public schools now openly confess political indoctrination through this symbolic act? This was recorded! Will this go on You Tube as a "flash crowd" for Hillary? Using public facilities. Using public school resources to promote the event and public school students to be the conduit for the publicity. Modeling public school students. What is really going on here? And by the Human Resouce Director!
Don't tell me this doesn't have some political overtone in addition to being the perfect example of the worldview of COMMON CORE.

So when I see that a Washington Post reporter is plotting a liberal agenda with billionaire George Soros, I get concerned. You see, it is not only the Eagle Forum that is targeted as a hate group; it is D. James Kennedy's ministry at Coral Gables, The Family Research Council, American Family Alliance. In other words, those involved with the traditional values of our culture, our Faith, our country, the very souls of our children, are under attack by George Soros. As are others.




And recently, we discover that a Washington Post reporter is in cahoots with George Soros.


Apparently, it is a given that Media (capital M) is charged with opinion making. We have that straight from Mika Brezinski, the paramour (fiance') of Joe Scarborough, once a Florida Good Old Boy, Alabama graduate, stalwart Conservative, now puppet of Mika and the Left. You can almost see her pulling the strings.


So, that is why Jeff Bezos, owner of Amazon, now worth $100 Billion dollars, bought the Washington Post from the Japanese who purchased Gateway. I guess Jeff Bezos sees himself as an opinion maker... like Mika.

The Washington Post says, "If a person is to be judged by his enemies, George Soros can feel proud."
That should tell you about the philosophy not only of the Washington Post, but the Panama City News Herald as well since they partner with the Washington Post and print their articles of indoctrination posturing as News.

So when the Panama City News Herald publishes an article like the one on Sunday regarding Project Veritas, you might want to ask yourself why?

Could it be that Project Veritas revealed the Open Society involvement of funding radical far Left movements in Europe and the United States? And the chicanery in stirring up trouble at Republican rallies? And funding Antifa, established by domestic terrorist Bill Ayers?

I have seen all of this before. Newspapers have changed, folks. They no longer print just the facts. They see themselves as opinion framers. As you can see from the qualifications for reporters, they need no life experience. Education writers are the PR arm of the Education Establishment and that is why you have Common Core. They write what those people who purchase the most ads in the paper want them to write and that is to mold your opinion to whatever the cause.

So, when I went to the office of the Panama City News Herald and introduced Eunie Smith, the President of the Eagle Forum, to the Editor, he said he would have a reporter contact me to write an article on the Panhandle Eagle Forum and Common Core.
No call.
I called again and spoke to the Education Reporter.
No call.
Is there a bias against Conservatives in this newspaper, owned by the Japanese, but run by Gatehouse Publishing the original owner that once owned The Washington Post now owned by Jeff Bezos whose reporter Janell Ross colludes with George Soros?

Several months ago, I called and asked the Sales office if there was a special deal to get the Washington Post with the News Herald. They denied it. Said they could not recall ever having such a deal.
Maybe she was new. Perhaps they just had too much news. Perhaps she lost my number. Perhaps they don't think Common Core is a sexy topic. Perhaps they have been told that the Eagle Forum is a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center and they dare not mention such an organization.

By publishing this what is the News Herald telling Floridians? Is this an indictment? In the West when the child is 7 yrs, the teachers begin to say to the child ‘you have a right to choose whether you want to follow the faith of your parents or not, parents are not allowed to enforce their faith upon you.’ Question is, what type of decision can a 7 year old make?

a)Promote sexual promiscuity – Free young people to the concept of premarital sex, let them have free sex, lift it so high that the joy of enjoying it(sex) is the highest joy in life, fantasize it, that everybody will feel proud to be seen to be sexually active, even those outside of marriage.
This is contrary to the word of God which says “… But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints… for this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.” (Ephesians 5: 3-5)
b)Use advertising industry, media – T.V., magazines, film industry to promote sexual enjoyment as the highest pleasure in humanity.
4. IF SEX IS FREE, THEN MAKE ABORTION LEGAL AND MAKE IT EASY
She said; Build clinics for abortion – Health clinics in schools. If people are going to enjoy the joy of sexual relationships, they need to be free of unnecessary fears, in other words they should not be hampered with unwanted pregnancies. ‘Abortion as told by Christians is oppressive and denies our rights, we have a right to choose whether we want to have a child or not. If a woman does not want the pregnancy, she should have the freedom to get rid of that pregnancy painless and as easy as possible’.
Today it is not only accessible, it is forced. Today abortion is a strategy to curb population control together with the use of condoms and ‘pill’.
5. MAKE DIVORCE EASY AND LEGAL, FREE PEOPLE FROM THE CONCEPT OF MARRIAGE FOR LIFE.
Alice wrote 50 years ago that love has got a mysterious link called the love bond. It is like an ovum that comes out of the ovary, as it travels through your system, it clicks a love favor in you and there’s one other person in the world who can respond to that love bond, when you see that person, everything within you clicks, that is your man/woman, if you miss him, you’ll never be happy until that love bond cycles past, for many years, so for you to be happy get that person at whatever cost, if it means getting him/her out of that marriage, get him/her that is your man/woman.don’t be held in bondage by the Christian values it will never come back, what you need is an easily arranged divorce and allow another love bond to come forth, just like an ovum comes up, and when it comes forth you’ll enjoy life again.
On the contrary God’s word says in Malachi 2: 16; “For the Lord God of Israel says that He hates divorce…”
It is one thing for a marriage to fail but it is another thing for people to enter marriage with an intention to enjoy as long as it was enjoyable and to walk out of it.
6. MAKE HOMOSEXUALITY AN ALTERNATIVE LIFESTYLE
Alice Bailey preached (50 yrs ago) that sexual enjoyment is the highest pleasure in humanity, no one must be denied and no one must be restricted how to enjoy themselves. People should be allowed in which ever way they chose they want, whether it is homosexuality or in incest or bestiality, as long as the two agree. A law was passed in our nation, South Africa. Parliament has passed it on 26/01/2000 and the President gave it his signature on 4/02/2000 – giving so much freedom to gay rights, that a time will come when it is illegal for a preacher to mention homosexuality as an abomination in the eyes of God, or to read scriptures publicly that talk about homosexuality.
According to the Bible, this is an abomination before the eyes of God (Leviticus 18:22; 20:13)
7. DEBASE ART, MAKE IT RUN MAD
How? Promote new forms of art which will corrupt and defile the imagination of people because art is the language of the spirit, that which is inside, you can bring out in painting, music, drama etc. Look at the quality of the music that is coming out and types of films out of Hollywood even comedy episodes promote a lot of immoral behavior, children shows, list goes on.
8.USE MEDIA TO PROMOTE AND CHANGE MINDSET
Alice Bailey said the greatest channel you need to use to change human attitude is media. Use the press, the radio, T.V, cinema. You can tell today how successful they have been in implementing the plan over 50 years via media as well as advertising agencies, billboards, magazines. Who controls media? (New Age/Luciferians); So much money is pumped into media and advertising to spread pornographic material and other sources. Sex outside of marriage is thrown in your face 80-90 times a day than sex in marriage. Promiscuity is being promoted as natural, you watch gay sex on T.V. Conditioned people to except their New Age Agendas.
9. CREATE AN INTERFAITH MOVEMENT
Alice Bailey wrote; Promote other faiths to be at par with Christianity, and break this thing about Christianity as being the only way to heaven, by that Christianity will be pulled down and other faiths promoted. She said promote the importance of man in determining his own future and destiny – HUMANISM. She said tell man he has the right to choose what he wants to be and he can make it happen, he has the right to determine his cause – This takes God off His throne. We have seen in our nation. Even in South Africa where a meeting was hosted of the Interfaith Movement in Cape Town led by Dalai Lama.
10. GET GOVERNMENTS TO MAKE ALL THESE LAWS AND GET THE CHURCH TO ENDORSE THESE CHANGES.
Alice Bailey wrote that the church must change its doctrine and accommodate the people by accepting these things and put them into its structures and systems.

We are willing to sit in a Sunday school class or attend church on Christmas and/or Easter but believe that there is really evil in this world and Satan/Lucifer actually might exist? Fix my thoughts, Lord Jesus, on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. Help me to think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise so Your peace will guard my mind (Philippians 4:8-9). Don’t let me copy the behavior and customs of this world, but transform me into a new person by changing the way I think. Then I will learn to recognize Your will for me which is good and pleasing and perfect (Romans 12:2, NLT). Saturate my mind with Your truth so I am convinced that the answers are found in Your Word, not out in the world.

Roy Moore Flawed Men and God's Choices

Considering the fact that the Washington Post, the source for many of these accusations, has as one of its major reporters someone who is in cahoots with George Soros to promote HIS agenda, ought to give one pause about jumping to assumptions about Roy Moore. And one should also remember that none of us should be acting as judge and jury of someone else.

Now, I have met Roy Moore and I was impressed with this man who actually served his country in the military. After graduating from West Point, he served in the U.S. Military as an M.P. and was a company commander during the Vietnam War.
President Bill Clinton announced on August 18, 1997, his intent to appoint Jones as U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, and formally nominated Jones to the post on September 2, 1997. He is a Bill Clinton Democrat.
Now the stuff of the accusations against Roy Moore are merely accusations. There is no proof of those accusations except what appears to be a forged yearbook, many questions about the "testimony" forty years later of the other accusers.
I have moved to Florida, but the vote on this election affects this entire country. You are not just voting on one man. You are voting for the future direction of this country. It is time for us to realize there is a serious spiritual and culture war going on in our country. Don't think the Enemy will not seek to search out liars and those so politically involved that they can be convinced that their agenda makes the ends justify the means. Especially when it means money to help them buy a new SUV which is a part of some of the stories coming out of Gadsden regarding those who accuse Roy Moore.
A bridesmaid of mine from Gadsden is in Doug Jones' Sunday school class and she will not vote for him.
The manager of that Mall refutes the supposed "evidence" that Moore was banned from the Mall. Let's get off our high horse and get upset about jumping on the bandwagon like they did in California about those people that destroyed the lives of those people that were falsely accused by children under the influence of a psychologist or the lives of the Lacrosse players!

Peace Education? Conflict Resolution? Teaching Tolerance? Or Political and Psychological Manipulation?

Conflict Resolution? Peace Education?

Recently, my beloved millennial daughter challenged my support of President Trump citing St. Mary's For Peace labeling Trump as a hate monger because of his support of the Britain First Movement. So, I went to their website to see just who/what exactly this organization is. Especially since I am now being said to be participating in the "politics of hatred" because I believe that the United States deserves its independence, support nationalism and believe in the Bible. I believe that Biblical principles (moral laws) are given to us for our own safety and security just as physical laws like gravity provide us with the assurance that if we jump out of an airplane we will fall precipitously to the ground and will probably die.
Let me introduce you to St. Mary's Centre for Peace and Reconciliation. And because they label themselves such they must surely be.


Now, I have a bit of experience with folks that claim to be involved in "peace building". In the early 90s with Goals 2000 the Dothan City Schools proposed a program that called for Conflict Resolution entitled Teaching Tolerance.
That curriculum is promoted by the Southern Poverty Law Center.


I have since found out that Sex Education in Common Core to be integrated into all subjects reflects the beliefs of the Southern Poverty Law Center. Since they now wear the mantle of the all knowing arbiters of who and what is hate, Knights of the Order of Multiculturalism, they have determined that we are to embrace in Kindergarten lifestyles that some of us believe are detrimental to children. We believe that children deserve their innocence and should not be urged to consider "alternative" lifestyles contrary to those of us who consider ourselves people of The Book (Jewish, Christian and Muslim religions).
In addition the American Library Association promotes this agenda.



Third paragraph from the bottom of this presentation to the American Library Association:
There are three analytical approaches that share a determination to limit hate speech. Critical race theorists hold that hate speech is a primary tool for ensuring dominance over historically persecuted minorities. In an America riven by racism, it is arguable that hate speech is a uniquely pernicious obstacle blocking the progress of economically, socially, and psychologically vulnerable minorities. Some gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered advocates hold that hate speech leads directly to hate crime, and serves to keep sex/gender outsiders in a compliant state of silent fear. Some feminists have argued that pornography is nothing more than a form of hate speech that reinforces stereotypes and maintains the subservience of women through images of degradation and dominance. What all these perspectives share in common is the belief that hate speech is so powerful and harmful that the targeted individual is ultimately silenced and unable to respond. This challenges the traditional civil libertarian notion of answering bad speech with good, since hate speech deprives its targets of the very capacity to answer back.
So, what about the curriculum that the Southern Poverty Law Center promotes? We viewed it and this was our review. Now remember this was in the early 1990's. We now have Common Core as a consequence and it is what we saw in the early 1990's on steroids and entrenched in legislation.
Conflict Resolution: Teaching Tolerance
Five parents, black and white parents, were granted permission to review the conflict resolution materials. The film "Fighting Fair: Dr. Martin Luther King" jolted us all with its violent images. The words of peacemaking were drowned out by the impact of the graphic images on the screen before us and the conclusion of one child in the video that the passive resistance of Dr. King was futile because "They killed him, didn't they?"
Are there trained psychotherapists in those classrooms to address the effects on the individual child?
What will individual children take away from that film: The images and anger, or the "peacemaking" the promoters claim to wish to promote? Your schools are modeling your child's attitudes and beliefs. Is this what you thought you were sending your child to school for?
We object to:Lessons which divide children into "tribes" within the village (classroom) that would appear to validate gangs and reinforce peer influence. Activities which promote alternative lifestyles
Violating freedom of religion and the Alabama School Board's policy against by utilizing New Age techniques within a public school classroom.Choosing "totems," Listening to a "referee" one imagines on one's shoulder, and Projecting one's mind into a "strong place"

Suggested guided imagery for teacher. Throw eggs at your students...visualization.

Teach children to visit the Happy Valley. Guided imagery? Psychological techniques guided by classroom teacher?

Politicization of the classroom...#5. No bias or influence there...???

What do you say when the second grader in the bottom activity asks what these words mean? Is the second grade an appropriate time for a discussion of sex? Is it any wonder children cannot read? The assumption here is that more money equals better schools. This early indoctrination has surely taken root if the 2016 riots are any proof.

Although the Theosophical Society remains a force in the occult/New Age camp, its influence today seems to be confined to the education (or re-education) of those seeking alternatives to Western religion. The Society at Adyar parted ways with European and American power elites back in the 1920s, with the expulsion from the Society in America of Alice Bailey and her husband Foster Bailey. The Baileys inaugurated the Lucis Trust, a New York-based organization responsible for giving the New Age movement most of its modem organization and political trappings.
Like Helena Blavatsky, Alice Bailey claimed to have been overshadowed on various occasions by an "Ascended Master" (named Djwhal Khul), and to have penned many volumes of occult writing under his influence. The Lucis Trust, like the Theosophical Society, claims as one of its purposes the advancement of interest in occult and arcane religion. It runs a number of non-profit "arcane schools" designed to teach various occult doctrines and practices.
The Lucis Trust is also aggressively involved in promoting a globalist ideology, which it refers to as "goodwill." Its World Goodwill organization is closely connected to international elitist circles. Authors and participants in its various conferences read like a Who's Who of the globalist insiders. Featured on its website, for example, is the Universal Declaration of Human Responsibilities, put forth in April 1998 as a companion document to the notorious UN Universal Declaration on Human Rights. Signatories to the World Goodwill document include: Helmut Schmidt, former chancellor of West Germany; Malcolm Fraser, former Australian prime minister; Oscar Arias Sanchez, former prime minister of Costa Rica; Shimon Peres; Robert McNamara; Paul Volcker; and Jimmy Carter. Indeed, the Lucis Trust enjoys consultant status at the United Nations and, judging from the political writings appearing in its publications, it is as much a political organization as an occult religious one.

I have friends that are gay. I LOVE those friends. I do not condemn them. Their relationship is between them and God. I can only repeat what is in His Word. Not to repeat it would be condescending and a proof that I do not consider them worthy of such a conversation. God once made very clear his division of labor. "It's your job to love, It's my job to lead."However, because I do love them, does not mean that I condone the proselytizing that is now going on in our schools, or the political correctness that is undermining the legal system. I think our children (my five grandchildren) deserve the security of having an education that does not turn into an indoctrination of "acceptance" and "respect" for alternative lifestyles and encourages them to experiment in such behaviors! This is Peace Education? This is why the Eagle Forum and James Dobson's Focus on the Family, Tea Party, etc. are labeled "Hate Groups".
This is love? This is tolerance? This is an agenda.

Peace Education with its belief in tolerance and diversity certainly seems remarkably intolerant to me.

The Strange Life Alignment of Roy Moore, Margaret Sanger, Julian Huxley, Hillary Clinton and Bill Gates meet at your ballot

I admit I am NOT A FEMINIST. I claim no kinship to Margaret Sanger, a founder of the Feminist Movement, the Eugenics Society and the Planned Parenthood Association. But the tentacles of her life reach forth into the contemporary world and meet at the ballot box and can surely make a difference in the future of our country.



The hand reaching from the womb and Schweitzer's words affirm what science has learned about life. I nearly wrote my Masters thesis on Margaret Sanger. That was when I considered myself an open-minded free thinker, an intellectual of sorts. And then I had children. The hand reaching out from the womb beckoned me because it reminded me that that developing little one was so much more than "ontogeny recapitulating phylogeny" as my old maid Biology had taught.
If that fetus is life, then taking that life has a consequence far greater than say, squishing a mosquito or stomping a roach. It is more than simple tissue. That life carries the DNA of all who have come before and if one is a Christian, it carries a soul. And I wonder, just as I wonder when Reading, Adding and Subtracting became politicized -- how did the question of life become political?
Has being Pro Choice has become a litmus test for the Democratic Party?

Margaret Sanger is their hero.
And then there is the National Review take on the issue and Hillary Clinton’s words regarding Abortion. “I believe there’s room in our party for a wide range of personal views on abortion,” Hillary graciously allows, noting her choice of “personally opposed” poster boy Tim Kaine as her running mate."But when personal views on abortion become public actions — votes on legislation or judges or funding that erode women’s rights — that’s a different matter.”
So, in other words, when a legislator actually legislates or a judge actually judges, views on abortion must be tossed out the window. Hillary Clinton accepted Planned Parenthood's Margaret Sanger Award, named after the founder of the American Birth Control League, which changed its name to Planned Parenthood in the 1940s. In her remarks, Clinton singled out the namesake of the award for praise: "Now, I have to tell you that it was a great privilege when I was told that I would receive this award. I admire Margaret Sanger enormously, her courage, her tenacity, her vision ... And when I think about what she did all those years ago in Brooklyn, taking on archetypes, taking on attitudes and accusations flowing from all directions, I am really in awe of her."Clinton lamented that
"Margaret Sanger's work here in the United States and certainly across our globe is not done." Here at home, there are still too many women who are denied their rights because of income, because of opposition, because of attitudes that they harbor. But around the world, too many women are denied even the opportunity to know about how to plan and space their families. They're denied the power to do anything about the most intimate of decisions."
Ironically, one of the groups that supported Hillary Clinton throughout everything is the Black community. I wonder if they really know her views on abortion as they coincide with those of Margaret Sanger.
A statue remains in Washington D.C.’s Smithsonian Institution commemorating the one person responsible for the deaths of more African Americans that any other in history: Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood.“More than 19 million black babies have been aborted since the 1973 Roe v. Wade U.S. Supreme Court decision legalized abortion in our country,” according to Michigan Right to Life’s website. “On average, 900 black babies are aborted every day in the United States.” Planned Parenthood is responsible for many of those abortions.

Please notice that the Euthanasia Society of America and Planned Parenthood had many of the same members and founders. Their goals were the same.


Mrs. Sanger, of course, wasn't the benevolent advocate for human rights that Clinton's remarks make her out to be. In fact, Sanger's "vision" for birth control seems to be united to a eugenic vision.
She abandoned her husband who tried to please her. Her parenting skills were so poor neighbors had to come in to care for her three children. Sanger adopted a lifestyle known as free-love often with frequent lover H. G. Wells, author of twelve novels, including The Time Machine, The War of the Worlds, The Invisible Man and the Island of Doctor Moreau. Julian Huxley, author Brave New World was a good friend.

In the October 1921 issue of The Birth Control Review, Sanger wrote that "the campaign for Birth Control is not merely of eugenic value, but is practically identical in ideal with the final aim of Eugenics." Sanger laid out the "principles and aims" of the American Birth Control League in an appendix to her 1922 work, The Pivot of Civilization. Two and a half pages are devoted to the principles of the American Birth Control league, which begins: The complex problems now confronting America as the result of the practice of reckless procreation are fast threatening to grow beyond human control. Everywhere we see poverty and large families going hand in hand. Those least fit to carry on the race are increasing most rapidly. People who cannot support their own offspring are encouraged by Church and State to produce large families. Many of the children thus begotten are diseased or feeble minded. Many become criminals. The burden of supporting these unwanted types has to be borne by the healthy elements of the nation. Funds that should be used to raise the standard of our civilization are diverted to the maintenance of those who should never have been born.


Sanger wrote extensively, leaving ample documentation of her life. She founded Birth Control Review, published from 1917 until the early 1940s, and was either an editor or contributor to this publication during most of its existence. Sanger’s relationship with eugenicists was clearly expressed in the pages of Birth Control Review from its inception. Eugenics also ‘soon became a constant, even a dominant, theme at birth-control conferences’.

Sanger also made her eugenic views clear in her many publications, such as The Pivot of Civilization and Woman Rebel, stressing that birth control was not only ‘important with respect to controlling the numbers of unfit in the population’, but was the ‘only viable means to improve the human race’. For example, she wrote: ‘Birth control itself … is nothing more or less than the facilitation of the process of weeding out the unfit, of preventing the birth of defectives or of those who will become defectives.’ S he boldly proclaimed that birth control was the only viable way to improve the human race. And while in her later years Sanger redefined what she meant by the unfit, ‘she increasingly saw feeblemindedness, the bogey of all hereditarians, as antecedent to poverty and social organization in the genesis of social problems.’https://creation.com/margaret-sanger-...

Notice the connection of Leon F. Whitney, former executive secretary of the American Eugenics Society to Hitler. He endorses Hitler's sterilization program which is to be applied to 400,000 Germans considered defectives. He is in total accord with Julian Huxley, UNESCO's first Director-General and Margaret Sanger founders of the Eugenics Society and Planned Parenthood.



Let me repeat what he said ..."First, we've got population. The world today has 6.8 billion people; that's heading up to about 9 billion. Now if we do a great job on new vaccines, health care [and} reproductive health services, we could lower that by perhaps 10 or 15 percent."

Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection ActThis bill amends the federal criminal code to make it a crime for any person to perform or attempt to perform an abortion if the probable post-fertilization age of the fetus is 20 weeks or more. A violator is subject to criminal penalties—a fine, up to five years in prison, or both. The bill provides exceptions for an abortion: (1) that is necessary to save the life of the pregnant woman, or (2) when the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest. A physician who performs or attempts to perform an abortion under an exception must comply with specified requirements. A woman who undergoes a prohibited abortion may not be prosecuted for violating or conspiring to violate the provisions of this bill.
This bill languishes in the House.
