Requiem for a School System/Society
Jesus will come soon. (Matthew 24: 1-3 (David Jeremiah https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q710SSEyQy8) Look around you. What do you see and hear every night on the nightly news?
Recently the Representative who sponsored the 123 Bill in the House of Representatives was elected leader of the majority party (Republican) of that august House. And so the consequences of putting school psychologists in every school the purpose of that bill begins. Just what do these psychologists believe and even if they don't what MUST they support?
Baldwin County Schools requiring school counselors to affirm students' preferred pronouns, gender identityAll of this will be a part of the Comprehensive sex education agenda to pollute the minds of our children beginning in Kindergarten. You have lost the moral authority as parents. Both the Counselor’s Handbook and the BCPS mental health guidebook, “Mental Health Matters: Everyone has a Story,” suggest the Trevor Project and other LGBTQ+ organizations as a resource.
In another document provided by BCPS, titled “2022-2023 School Counselors’ Handbook,” confidentiality between student and counselor is thoroughly stressed.
Just imagine the images that your innocent child will be influenced by through their efforts. "Further, the training manual states the counselor’s “duty to self” is to “develop knowledge and understanding of historic and systemic oppression, social justice and cultural models (e.g., multicultural counseling, anti-racism, culturally sustaining practices) to further develop skills for systemic change and equitable outcomes for all students.” (Equity is NOT equality! Equity means equality of Outcome not opportunity.)

As for depending on your representatives to carry on your values? How do you think we got here? The NEA/AEA has a lot more money than you or I do. They will elect those who kowtow to their standards and beliefs and they have been taken over by the radical Left.
Whether this will be published on my own blog is questionable. I am not sure what post this notice refers to.

I am seriously considering ending my education activism. When I first began battling Whole Language in the early 90s after seeing how many illiterate middle schoolers I had in my classrooms, I really thought the teachers in Dothan would join with me to battle this foolishness. Recently Judith Hanford, an investigative journalist produced a podcast that is an expose of this ridiculous "method" of reading instruction that actually teaches children "how not to read." (http://www.soldastory.org)
What happened in Dothan was a Whole Language hootenanny at the Dothan City School Board led by Dr. Patty Fritchie, the reading instructor at Troy State University. I do wish Judith Hanford could have been there to hear and see teachers supporting this method that had principals demanding that good/successful teachers leave their phonics books outside the door to be destroyed. The Hootenanny occurred when a group of parents (my husband and me included) flew an expert from a successful school that was 90% Black, served 3 housing projects, and had 40 identified dyslexics each year. The principal was given a mandate to improve that schools scores and he took a group of grudging teachers to participate in a seminar in learning the Systematic, Intensive, Direct and Early Method, The Writing Road to Reading, developed by Romalda Spalding a colleague of Dr. Samuel Orton founder of the Orton Dyslexia Society. Dr. Orton calls most dyslexia "school induced." After one year the scores in that school rose from the 25th percentile to the 80th, the number of identified dyslexics dropped from 40 to less than 5, and discipline problems declined.
My detractors will say everything I write is sour grapes because I was defeated in my run for Chairman of the Dothan City School Board where I refused donations because I did not want to be obligated to anyone. Twice. The campaign for the opposition was run out of the central office I was told by someone who was there. In the meantime, a local obstetrician who "had a heart for the children" and the president of Troy University became chairman of the Dothan City School Board and so everything the Director of Instruction and fellow "progressives" wanted got rubber stamped -- and still does. It is a circle the wagon mentality in education today. Don't rock the boat. Or as one principal of a very unsuccessful school put it, "Let's not get anybody hurt here." Losing one's retirement by going against the crowd isn't a wise move.
And though the reading scores reveal the failure, more money gets spent on programs like Reading Recovery as discussed by Judith Hanford. Each child who cannot read thinks they are defective. Their remediation in the school is more intensive more of the same. Parents who can afford it get private tutoring. Those who can't follow year after year of depression and failure and their children probably drop out early.

Unfortunately, the legislators cannot legislate success in Math when the math instructors in the colleges of education pretty much do what the reading instructors do--teach how not to do math (successfully that is). Social Justice Math is more important than real Math instruction.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is integrated into every subject in the Curriculum.

Oh, and during that time, with the debate over Goals 2000 and OBE/Mastery Learning/Outcomes Based Education (now called Equity) David Hornbeck (who wrote the Alabama First document promoted by A Plus, a clone of the Kentucky document) rewrote the Bylaws of Dothan City Schools replacing sequential learning with thematic learning. The Goals 2000 document also forbade drill and repetition (which Bear Bryant thankfully ignored). Phonics was kicked out and contemptuously labeled "drill and kill." Memorizing Addition/Subtraction/Multiplication/Division tables was now considered old fashioned so our children suffered through New Math and its later renamed clones. History Classes were shifted to Social Studies and the thematic lessons foreshadowed Critical Race Theory.

Social Emotional Learning now includes Eastern Meditation and the access to books the gatekeepers of the past would never have allowed in our libraries. And now, since I made them public, I no longer have access to them. But, Dothan City School students do. Oh yes, welcome to Comprehensive Sex Education beginning in Kindergarten. Words, activities, and pictures most of us have never seen or heard (and wish we would never see or hear) are now a part of the comprehensive education of students in Alabama schools.

But I did take screen shots before I was blocked.

And then we have Common Core ironically created and promoted by the Chicago purveyors of Progressive Politics making schools bee hives of community activism: Bill Ayers, Saul Alinsky, Barach Obama (who attended Saul Alinsky's schools on community activism paid for by a Chicago pedophile priest Cardinal Bernardin), Arne Duncan (US Superintendent of Education) and David Coleman who worked with Ayers and Obama on the Chicago Annenberg Project, and destroyed education in Chicago.

Coleman claims to have produced Common Core. His philosophy? "These standards are the most serious attempt this country has yet made to come to grips with those early sources of inequality." So now with a salary of over a million a year he heads the College Boards.

Anyone who really researches education or asks questions knows that Common Core is not dead. They spent to much on it! They just renamed it and the public bought it. Because I really don't think most people really care.
The same passion that brought Patty Fritche's Whole Language Stepford Teachers to the Dothan City School Board to yell down the words of the Principal from the successful school teaching phonics ought to bring the same passion for getting rid of it! And reclaim our schools for the sake of our children!
But that won't happen and I am tired of banging my head against the wall of apathy.
Pray for Rick Rehm. He seems to be the only elected politician who actually understands what is happening here. All of us have family/friends employed by the school system. If they realize what is happening they dare not rock the boat if they want the retirement benefits for which they have worked so hard. If they don't it is because all of this comes from the colleges of education and the Department of Education that has been taken over by they purveyors of "Progressivism".
New World Order? One world religion? Guess what is happening every day in our schools. Do you ever wonder how Germany, a Christian nation, could succumb to the commands of the Nazi party, the Third Reich and produce the holocaust? It begins in the schools.

The word Requiem came to me first thing this Sunday morning as I said good morning to my Lord and prepared for Church. I am sure there is a reason God wanted me to use that word as a title for this post. I also think there is a warning there.

Equity Plan of Action: Social Engineering Bereft of any Academic Value
I write this article in an attempt to analyze the purpose and consequence of Dothan City Schools Equity Plan of Action. I share it on my blog for the purpose of alerting others about what is happening in their own schools and school boards across the country. No man (school system and school board) is an island in this nation of ours with the common contagion of teachers unions, Department of Education, and colleges and universities having adopted this philosophy of education.
We, as parents, can see the problem clearly when presented in a chart like this. But this chart exists because I dug out the information and presented it in this chart. The problem is that children come home with A's and B's on their report cards throughout elementary school. Parents are unaware of the problem until secondary teachers tell them their children cannot read secondary text books or the questions on a test. The scores are blatantly obvious, but hidden from parents' knowledge by the public relations people who write the articles that local papers print.
(Remember to double click on the images for the image to increase in size.)

What was the purpose of this Equity Plan of Action?
Section 1: Culture of Academic Equity
Our data reflects that 40% of our student population identified as white are outperforming the slightly more than 60% of nonwhite students by a margin of 45% (2018) & 42% (2019) difference in Math and 45% (2018) & 45% (2019) in Reading. This trend reflects a gap in achievement over two years of data (2018 & 2019).
One might look at the number of students who are unable to read on the 3rd grade level in Dothan City Schools and assume that the administration would focus on the curriculum. No. They focus on an equity action plan to convert attitudes and beliefs using multicultural, social justice, and culturally responsive teaching. This is their gateway into the minds and hearts of our children, their justification for SEL (Social Emotional Learning).
Please note that the second book mentioned, Culturally Proficient Instruction was published by Corwin Press, an entity of Sage Publications that publishes domestic terrorist Bill Ayers' books. Ayers' goals?
"Education is the motor-force of revolution." Bill Ayers"I get up every morning and think...today I'm going to end capitalism." Bill Ayers"Everything was absolutely ideal on the day I bombed the Pentagon." Bill Ayers"The only path to the final defeat of imperialism and the building of socialism is revolutionary war." Bill Ayers"Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that's where it's really at." Bill Ayers"I haven't been silent. I teach, I lecture at universities, I write, I'm not silent." Bill Ayers

By the way, what is a MAP test as mentioned below?
1. What is MAP?MAP tests are computer adaptive achievement assessments in Mathematics, Reading, Language Usage, and Science.
2. What are computer adaptive tests?MAP dynamically adapts to a student’s responses – as they take the test. Answer a question correctly and the test presents a more challenging item. Miss a question, and MAP offers a simpler item. In this way, the test narrows in on a student’s learning level, engaging them with content that allows them to succeed.
----------------------------------------------------------- DOTHAN CITY SCHOOLS EQUITY ACTION PLANUpdated April, 2022 DCS Board approved June, 2022
The DCS Culturally Inspired Expertise Professional Learning Community Team Members gathered as a committee to address inequities in academic achievement between subgroups as evidenced in 2 years of state assessment data (Scantron/Performance Series) as well as local benchmark data (NWEA Maps) for the 2019/20 school year. This committee of 15 members across all aspects of the instructional community in DCS met monthly throughout this school year to discuss ways to address this gap in learning for our students. Our process for arriving at our Equity Action Plan began with a book study (Hammond, Z. (2014). Culturally responsive teaching and the brain: Promoting authentic engagement and rigor among culturally and linguistically diverse students. Corwin Press).
As we engaged with the content of this work, we reached out to various resources i.e. data gathering within our schools and school community to ascertain the breadth and depth of cultural responsiveness understanding and equity in access to devices or Internet, in addition to support provided by Dr. Deloris Lindsey and colleagues in their work (Robins, K. N., Lindsey, R. B., Lindsey, D. B., & Terrell, R. D. (Eds.). (2005). Culturally proficient instruction: A guide for people who teach. Corwin Press). Using this knowledge, we collaborated, researched, and developed the following plan for moving DCS forward.
Phase 1: Investigate Implementation PracticesPhase 2: Empower Stakeholders for Inclusive PartneringPhase 3: Institutionalize Cultural KnowledgeACTION RESEARCH

Culturally responsive teaching and the brain: Promoting authentic engagement and rigor among culturally and linguistically diverse students. (Corwin Press)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Culturally responsive teaching and the brain: Promoting authentic engagement and rigor among culturally and linguistically diverse students. Corwin Press) is the title of the book studied by the “Culturally Inspired Expertise Professional Learning Committee” of Dothan City Schools.
Z Hammond is not a doctor and has not studied the brain. She has a Masters in Secondary English literacy.
These are her credentials taken from the COLLABORATIVE CLASSROOM website.
She is a former high school and community college expository writing instructor. Ms. Hammond has also served as an adjunct instructor at St. Mary’s College School of Education in Moraga, California, where she taught The Foundations of Adolescent Literacy. As a consultant, she has advised and provided professional development to school districts and non-profit organizations across the country around issues of equity, literacy, and culturally responsive teaching for the past 25 years.
25 years as a consultant. And yet, she is considered an expert and the foundation for Dothan City Schools Equity Action Plan.
One might challenge her credentials as we have no empirical data or research to refer to as the consequences of her plan of action in our schools. Nor do we have any real facts upon which to base her assumption that “What I call ‘inequity by design’ was historically the brick and mortar of our school systems.” And yet, this is the basis of her philosophy of education.
No, this is another example of the public schools using our children as fodder for their experimentation. Our children are mere lab rats now. I will guarantee you that professional journals will receive articles written by those in administration promoting this agenda. These people will rise in the ranks upon the backs of our children whose cultural literacy will be limited to oppression and diversity.
In her words:
“Other educators have come to understand that multicultural education has its limits when it comes to instruction. Instead they focus on social justice education. But the misunderstanding that some educators have is, “If I simply discuss issues of oppression , read books about civil rights , their leaders, and people who worked against oppression, then my students’ cultural identity will be affirmed.”
Here’s a thought to consider: Second graders don’t want to talk about oppression, and when we as educators make that our sole focus, we’re doing students a disservice.
Instead we must build their background knowledge across a wide array of topics. To comprehend texts with critical literacy and critical consciousness, students must be equipped with that deep background knowledge. The social justice paradigm would have us only talking about issues of inequity, bias, or how we become non-racist.
But we know that’s not enough; the tendency is for that to get reduced into diverse books about boycotts and basketball or injustice topics of the day. Many social justice educators push back on the teaching of phonics and word study as oppressive when in fact, those elements of reading development are liberatory.
Keep in mind that social justice and multicultural education are useful and necessary in the equity conversation, but they play supporting roles. On their own they are not sufficient for effectively promoting instructional equity.”Collaborative Classroom
A Conversation with Z Hammond About Instructional Equity
Even Z Hammonds recognizes the need for real reading instruction and the unwillingness of teachers to actually teach phonics and word study because they have been led to believe that such education is “oppressive.” Yet, rather than focusing on literacy as the ticket out of their oppressive situations, they choose to focus on attitudes and beliefs, brainwashing children as to their oppression. IN OTHER WORDS, YOUR CHILD IS NOT MEMORIZING THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER, THE PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION OR THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE, IMPORTANT MILESTONES IN WESTERN CIVILIZATION THAT GAVE US OUR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC. Now that we know that Z Hammond is the guru for Dothan City Schools Equity Plan of action, we need to go deeper into her belief system.
Hammond cites Gloria Ladson-Billings as an expert she respects.
“I believe that culturally responsive teaching as Dr. Gloria Ladson-Billings framed it is the heart of instructional equity.”
So, who is Dr. Gloria Ladson-Billings so highly touted by Z Hammond upon whose book Dothan City Schools’ Equity Plan of Action is based?
Bill Ayers, convicted domestic terrorist, recommends Ladson-Billings writing “Also, check out this Critical Race Theory in Education Teach-In today with Gloria Ladson-Billings...” So Bill Ayers tells us that Ladson-Billings is an expert in Critical Race Theory education, something Alabama has supposedly forbidden in our public schools by our governor and denied by most politicians…and yet, here it is touted by the author of the book upon which Dothan City Schools Equity Plan of Action is based.”

Critical Race Theory in Education Scholars Respond to Executive Memo M-20-34
On September 4, 2020, Russell Vought, Director of the Office of Management and Budget for the Executive Office of the President issued M-20-34, a “memorandum for the heads of executive offices and agencies.” The document states that “Executive Branch agencies have spent millions of taxpayer dollars, to date, on “training” government workers to believe divisive, anti-American propaganda.” As critical race scholars working in universities and communities across the globe, the following statement is our response to Mr. Vought’s memorandum.
Critical Race Theory (CRT) is committed to the historical documentation and naming of atrocities carried out in this country in the name of “freedom” and “liberty.” In spite of this historical context, the claim that the United States is founded on freedom from tyranny, freedom of expression and speech, and the right to exist as a whole person, are ideals that all citizens of the US are taught in school to value, cherish and honor. From our purview as scholars of race and education, the United States of America has struggled to uphold not only the Constitution but also the Preamble of the Constitution. We are clear that racial healing cannot occur absent the recognition of the historical and current struggle against all forms of structural oppression that encumber the U.S. from ever fully living up to its democratic ideals.
(You need to read this to understand the goals of these people. This was written eight months after President Biden took office.)
In 1994, Ladson-Billings wrote: “All learning should be anchored in texts and other resources that reflect student’s cultures. She also suggested that culture plays an important role in not only communicating and receiving information, but also in the thinking process of groups and individuals. She defined Culturally Responsive Teaching as a pedagogy that recognizes the importance of including cultural references in all aspects of student learning.”
(Please note that none of this Equity Plan is objective. It all has to do with attitudes and beliefs.)Obviously, the Equity Plan of Action is based on a concept supposedly banned in Alabama.
Now, let’s take a minute to analyze this statement. In 1994, President Bill Clinton signed into law the Goals 2000 and Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) “committed themselves to specific plans for systematic reform of K-12 education.”
At that time Dothan City Schools signed onto Whole Language as the method of reading instruction. Whole Language is based on Paolo Freire’s book, Pedagogy of the Oppressed (read the Whole Language Catalog by Ken and Yetta Goodman and see the references to Freire and other Marxist leaders like Giroux, Apple, etc.).

"Court orders can be exceptionally good vehicles for creating a sufficient sense of crisis and an imperative to act so that supporting legislation can be enacted." (Human Capital, p. 367)
Thus we got Goals 2000/Alabama First. Thank you, A Plus. (Sarcasm here. The Alabama Legislature still allows them to write legislation.)
"

David Hornbeck wrote Alabama First, Alabama’s version of Goals 2000, promoted by A Plus, a supposed “research” organization that turns out to be a PR group for these radical new goals. Another aside: Ken Goodman wrote “Reading a Psycholinguistic Guessing Game” (1969) that became a major player in the shift from Phonics Intensive reading instruction to the Look-Say/Whole Language method of reading instruction.
As cited in Goodman’s obituary, “At the core of his work was a constructivist view of learning that insisted that students should be active participants in their learning, not mere recipients of some static ‘stuff’ called ‘knowledge.’” Brian Cambourne
Constructivist education boasts of producing cognitive dissonance.
The term cognitive dissonance is used to describe the mental discomfort that results from holding two conflicting beliefs, values, or attitudes. People tend to seek consistency in their attitudes and perceptions, so this conflict causes feelings of unease or discomfort.
Please note the intrusion of affective education (attitudes, values and beliefs) being manipulated here. See also the degrading attitude toward objective knowledge.
But there is more about Gloria Ladings-Billings that should be known by the public, referred to frequently as stakeholders, because the public funds this protections racket promoted by "consultants" and now called the Equity Plan of Action.
Back to Z Hammonds who comments in the article on the Collaborative Classroom: We have to make the brain work. This is [psychologist Lev] Vygotsky’s “zone of proximal development,” commonly called the “ZPD.”
So, Vygotsky is Hammonds’ source for brain expertise.
Who is Vygotsky?

This is taken from the Whole Language Catalog. Whole Language is a “method/philosophy of education” voted on by Dothan City Schools Board of Education (rejecting systematic, intensive, direct and early phonics) in the early 1990s that continues to be the method of choice for reading instruction. I was there when that happened because I was a part of a group of parents who financed bringing a principal in from Louisiana who had turned his school (90% Black, serving 3 housing projects) around (from the 25th to the 80th percentile) with the phonic intensive Spalding Writing Road to Reading. Dr. Betty Fritche led a Whole Language Hootenanny drowning out the efforts of the parent group who brought the expert from the successful school to Dothan.
I sometimes find a bit of irony in the fact that one Chairman of the Dothan City Schools Board of Education was president of Troy University Dothan whose university hired Betty Fritche and supported Whole Language instruction.
Now, let's ask the question why do we let our school curriculum be dominated by avowed Marxists?
"A Marxist begins with his prime truth that all evils are caused by the exploitation of the proletariat by the capitalists. From this he logically proceeds to the revolution to end capitalism, then into the third stage of reorganization into a new social order of the dictatorship of the proletariat, and finally the last stage -- the political paradise of communism." Saul Alinsky
----------------------------------------------------------------
OutcomesWe want educators to know and be able to implement guidelines for addressing cultural proficiency instructional practices to close achievement gaps between subgroups. We want educators to know and be able to implement guidelines for addressing stakeholder relationships in regard to barriers with socioeconomic status and equal access to online learning
We will measure success by our state and benchmark data reflecting closing achievement gaps among subgroups; internal and external climate surveys, implementation surveys, and reflections through Q/A documentation; school culture and climate data i.e. discipline data, SPED/ELL students, poverty/non- poverty. We will measure success with evaluation feedback 3 times a year through surveys for implementation via staff, students, parents, community.
May I point out that these outcomes are psychological? Mainly Affective data. How does one measure benchmark data when testing is affective/subjective? Suddenly education is no longer academic but SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING.
The important measure is how well the achievement gap is closed. How best to do that?
Apparently it is to lower the academic standards. Then judge attitudes and beliefs, the true goal for this social engineering.
Look back at the Reading Scores. Thirty years ago Whole Language, something Dean Kunkel of Auburn said was "current wisdom" unsupported by any empirical data, was voted on by your Dothan City Schools Board of Education. Recently, accepting the poor performance and vowing to do something about it, Dothan City Schools endorsed the Equity Plan of Action. They have dug the hole deeper than ever.
No change to actually address the failure of the curriculum --just everything and everyone else.
If you live in another area, I challenge you to research your own school district's "equity plan of action."

A Grandparent's Day to Remember
Today at Providence Christian School Grandparents Day brought us all to our feet with our grandchildren's performance. My Molly is in the fourth grade, a part of the Grammar School. Her grade led us in the pledge of allegiances to the American flag and the Christian flag. They then led us in singing the Star Spangled Banner. The fifth grade recited the Preamble to the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Then the second and third grades sang each of our Armed Services' songs, while displaying their flags, honoring the many veterans in the gymnasium. They then sang God Bless America, Yankee Doodle Dandy. And then their rendition of I'm Proud to be an American brought us all to our feet.
Of course, I had tears in my eyes with my pride in our country, my gratitude to those veterans called to stand as each service's flag was displayed, those men and women willing to make the ultimate sacrifice and ...the mission of this precious school to actually teach our children the basics of reading (they use the phonics intensive Orton Gillingham Method), writing and arithmetic (Saxon Math), developing their mental capacity to memorize, guiding their moral development in teaching biblical principles of right and wrong and honoring the sacrifices and principles upon which our wonderful country was founded. Molly got to leave early with me and we went to breakfast at the Waffle House and then went to buy her a calligraphy set. She wants to improve her handwriting and already has a beautiful hand. What a blessing this day was for this grandmother who longs to see all of my babies in Heaven when "the roll is called up yonder." Thank you, God, for this wonderful school, and for the many blessings it gives these precious children. The Co-opting of Hallelujah

Remember when Hallelujah brought joy to your heart because it brought memories of the Hallelujah Chorus? Well, several years ago, I got duped by an article in the Panama City News Herald about some teachers from the public school doing a community sing-a-long with the Hallelujah. Of course they said Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, but I thought it was just a community sing with a rendition of the wonderful music by Handel. I was wrong.
I expressed my concerns in a letter to the Bay County Superintendent and this is his response.
I have learned a lot since 2017. Some of it is from the messianic rabbi, Jonathan Cahn, in his book, The Return of the Gods. He points out that Christian symbols in this Woke World get co-opted and perverted so that the original meaning gets lost. Think of the Rainbow. Are children taught the Christian/original meaning of the rainbow? The promise of God not to destroy the world again by flood? The same has happened to the joyous word Hallelujah.
This song touched many a Democrat heart when Kate McKinnon opened Saturday Night Live after Hillary's loss with this version of Hallelujah and the original meaning has gotten lost. Co-opted. But, I want you all to read the words and tell me you think this is appropriate for students. Or do you think this is just another example of the social justice agenda replacing Christianity?
I point this out because I did so enjoy the patriotic Christian program at my granddaughter's program. I will almost guarantee this song will appear at some program during the Holiday season. This is the America your social justice warriors proclaim. Is it any wonder so many young people now commit suicide? This hopeless world bereft of God's love?
Baby I've been here beforeI know this room, I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you
Yeah, I've seen your flag on the marble arch
But listen love, love is not some kind of victory march
No it's cold and it's ever a broken HallelujahHallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
HallelujahThere was a time when you'd let me know
What's really going on below
Oh but now you never show it to me, do ya?
Oh but I remember yeah, when I moved in you
And the holy dove she was moving too
Yes and every single breath that went through us, HallelujahHallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
HallelujahMaybe there's a God above
As for me all I ever seemed to learn from love
Is how to shoot at someone who outdrew you
Yeah but it's not a complaint that you hear tonight
It's not the laughter of someone who claims to have seen the light
No it's cold and it's ever a lonely HallalujahHallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
HallelujahHallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
HallelujahI did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel so I learned to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come all this way to fool you
Yeah and even though it all went wrong
I'll stand right here before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but HallelujahHallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Camellia Garden at the Dothan Area Botanical Garden Gains Recognition
Camellia Garden at the Dothan Area Botanical Garden Gains Recognition
By Sharman Burson Ramsey, President of the Southeast Alabama Camellia Society
The Gulf Coast Camellia Society held its 60th conference in Mobile on October 21 and 22, 2022. The Mobile Botanical Gardens and Bellingrath Gardens hosted the events. The Rock Stars of the Camellia world made presentations. Dothan’s own Forrest Latta served as Master of Ceremonies.
Maarten van der Giessen spoke on Mobile’s Great Camellia Nurserymen: Sawed, Rubel, Kimono, Dodd, Bellingrath, Drinkard, Bower and Jarvis. Bobby Green introduced New Breakthroughs in Hybridization. Kip McConnell, filling in for Mark Crawford (suffering with Covid) educated the group on the ACS/Gao Plant Trials Report (a combination of azalea and camellia?). Then a panel consisting of Bobby Green, Seth Allen, Robin Kirchak, and Vaughan Drinkard spoke on the development of the K. Sawed Wintergreen. Vaughan Drinkard informed us about how the K.Sawada Wintergarden came to be. It took the leadership of Bobby Green, Vaughan Drinkard, Rhan Vander Giessen and others to develop the Sawada Wintergarden as an homage to K. Sawada. It is the goal of these camellia societies to preserve the historic camellias, to present them to the public to appreciate, and to propagate even more beautiful camellias.
Dothan’s own Mark Cannon was spoken of with near worship. He was a true leader in the Gulf Coast Camellia Society and in the camellia world of Dothan, Alabama. Seeing the Sawada Wintergreen garden inspires one to fulfill the dream of the founders of the camellia garden at the Dothan Area Botanical Garden to develop our camellia garden to be as lovely as the one in Mobile. And it is possible.
The Gulf Coast Camellia Society has placed the Dothan Area Botanical Garden’s Camellia Garden on the Camellia Garden Tour. That is quite an honor and one not to be taken lightly. We hope to honor those who came before by setting aside a special area in the camellia garden for Dothan. Leaders in the Camellia world and propagation were Dothan gardeners: Marilyn Latta, Marion Grant Hall, Mark Cannon, Paul Angeloff, Bill and Linda Nicholls, and Max McKinny. I am sure there are others that I have missed and would appreciate that information as well as the donation of those camellias for our Dothan area garden from family members.
According to Max McKinney, also an early member of the Southeast Alabama Camellia Society, our club was founded around 1956 by Dr. Ralph Moon, Bill Nichols, Jim Brown, and Marion Hall. McKinney (who has a garden of about 700 camellias) joined the club a couple of years after the founding. He recalls Mark Cannon being an early propagator as well as nursery owner. The nursery was named after his wife Marjorie, and his two daughters, Dorothy (Dot Cannon Culver) and Char (Charlotte Cannon Blount). MA-DOT-CHA HOBBY NURSERY was located at 300 Montezuma Avenue. Dr. Skeeter Mazyck had a yard full of beautiful camellias he propagated and was an early member of the club. We are hopeful some have been preserved since a bank has now been built where his home once sat.
The Southeast Alabama Camellia Society meets the first Tuesday of every month at 3 PM at the Dothan Area Botanical Garden. We are members of the Gulf Coast Camellia Society which is a member of the American Camellia Society which is also a member of the International Camellia Society that hosts biennial trips to different countries around the world. This year’s trip will be to Italy. All are welcome to join each of these organizations.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Marxism in our Schools
Who is Paolo Freire? He is a former Jesuit defrocked priest who participated in Liberation Theology in Nicaragua and then was introduced to the leading Marxists in our country where they decided education was the way to infuse Marxism into the people of America and produced Liberation Pedagogy. Please notice the mention of Paolo Freire in one of the screen shots Barbara Moore took and shared with me.
Notice the mention of Howard Zinn's textbook. It is a diatribe of hatred toward America. And many districts adopt it because this is what is coming out of the Department of Education and colleges of education. If you want to advance in the world of education you had better be ready to parrot this philosophy.
I share these things with you because there is a battle for the American mind. If you have children in our public schools or not, your taxes are supporting this. And you must live with the consequences. I do not want you defenseless. Please notice this information was posted by a woman who is apparently well-paid as a "Better Lesson Coach". And we wonder why our children have trouble reading and doing math?

In 1923, Lenin recognized the Socialist Movement would not spread to industrialized nations so he brought together a group of scholars to retool their strategy. To camouflage its nature they called it the Institute of Social Research. This group has also been known as the Frankfurt Group. Key members of the group moved to the US, mainly Columbia University. In the US they developed what they called "Critical Theory." They designed it as a strategy to change, revolutionize, and bring down America by criticizing it.
Marcuse ... advocated the "long march through the institutions" and recommended educational institutions as a refuge for radicals in the US.
The Frankfurt School was a significant influence on Paolo Freire in the conception of critical pedagogy, alongside influences from orthodox Marxism. Critical pedagogy was meant initially to address the needs of peasants resisting oppression rather than students in the United States, who attend universities as part of a process of entering the social or economic elite. Amidst the decline of the New Left, the rise of neoconservatism, and the election of Ronald Reagan, animated by Aronowitz's reminder of Marx's dictum, "the ultimate task of philosophy and theory was not merely to 'comprehend reality' but to change it", Henry Giroux sought to make the university classroom a site for class struggle. Giroux drew on the work of Gramsci and the British cultural marxists in conceiving of teachers as a revolutionary vanguard. Alongside Michael Apple, Giroux popularized Freire in educational studies, to the point that Freirian language and techniques of critical pedagogy became ubiquitous in liberal arts classrooms of the 1990s. The value of these practices were questioned in the broader cultural conversation on political correctness.
McLaren has developed a social movement based version on critical pedagogy that he calls revolutionary critical pedagogy, emphasizing critical pedagogy as a social movement for the creation of a democratic socialist alternative to capitalism.
In 1992, Maxine Hairston took a hard line against critical pedagogy in the first year college composition classroom and argued, "everywhere I turn I find composition faculty, both leaders in the profession and new voices, asserting that they have not only the right, but the duty, to put ideology and radical politics at the center of their teaching.
Though no one has as yet surveyed how far social justice teaching has pervaded America’s 1,500 ed schools, education researchers David Steiner (now Hunter College ed-school dean) and Susan Rozen did a study two years ago on the syllabi of the basic “foundations of education” and “methods” courses in 16 of the nation’s most prestigious ed schools. The mainstays of the foundations courses were works by Paolo Freire, Henry Giroux (a leading critical pedagogy theorist), and the radical education writer Jonathan Kozol (“America’s Most Influential—and Wrongest—School Reformer,” Winter 2000)
If you see, Paulo Freire's book, Pedagogy of the Oppressed or Ken Goodman's Whole Language Catalog, you can be guaranteed your university is producing radicals not educators.
CRITICAL PEDAGOGY and Bill Ayers (domestic terrorist and Obama's boss at the Chicago Anenburg Project). Ayers’s spectacular second act began when he enrolled at Columbia University’s Teachers College in 1984. Then 40, he planned to stay just to get a teaching credential. (He had taught in a “Freedom School” during his pre-underground student radical days.) But he experienced an epiphany in a course taught by Maxine Greene, a leading light of the “critical pedagogy” movement. As Ayers wrote later, he took fire from Greene’s lectures on how the “oppressive hegemony” of the capitalist social order “reproduces” itself through the traditional practice of public schooling—critical pedagogy’s fancy way of saying that the evil corporations exercise thought control through the schools.
Critical pedagogy theorists nurse a rancorous view of an America in which it is always two minutes to midnight and a knock on the door by the thought police is imminent. The education professors feel themselves anointed to use the nation’s K–12 classrooms to resist this oppressive system. Thus Maxine Greene urged teachers not to mince words with children about the evils of the existing social order. They should portray “homelessness as a consequence of the private dealings of landlords, an arms buildup as a consequence of corporate decisions, racial exclusion as a consequence of a private property-holder’s choice.” In other words, they should turn the little ones into young socialists and critical theorists.
The reading list for his urban education course includes the bible of the critical pedagogy movement, Brazilian Marxist Paolo Freire’s Pedagogy of the Oppressed; two books by Ayers himself; another by bell hooks, a radical black feminist writer and critical race theorist; and a “Freedom School” curriculum. That’s the entire spectrum of debate.

THE BIGOTRY OF LOW EXPECTATIONS
Remember the phrase “the Bigotry of Low Expectations.” Then replace that with Equity in any situation
That is what has happened to Education in Dothan, Alabama. What has happened in Dothan is pretty much the same that has happened around the country, but this is what I know. I attended Mrs. Grubb’s Kindergarten. Then for elementary school I attended Girard Elementary (1-6) and then Girard Junior High School (7-9) and then Dothan High School on North Oates Street.
In high school we had six subjects: English (not Language Arts), Math (Algebra I and II, Geometry, or Calculus, not social justice Math), History (American or World History), Latin, Spanish, or French, Science (Biology, Physics and Chemistry), and Political Science. We also took Physical Education and sometimes had a Study Hall.
The material in those subjects was presented sequentially as per school board policy. In English we learned the structure of a word, how sounds came together to make a syllable and syllables came together to make a word and words came together to make a sentence and sentences came together to make a paragraph and paragraphs came together to make a story or an article.—or maybe a book. We conjugated verbs and learned the difference between present, past and future tense and how verbs changed to show those tense changes sometimes regularly and sometimes irregularly. We diagrammed sentence to actually see the structure of sentences.
We had a group of parents who read the literature books and books that would be read by students to see if they passed community standards.
Parents were involved not just in making cookies for the teachers’ lounge or purchasing a microwave or running off copies or reading books to children to “inspire them to read.” They knew the teachers. They knew the standards for hiring those teachers.
Goals 2000 changed things. The liberal teachers’ unions and powerful “progressives” got appointed to positions within the Department of Education who promoted programs meant to “help” those “less fortunate” -- eduspeak for our Minority students, basically Black children, by using our schools for social engineering.
And this is where the “Bigotry of Low Expectations” comes to the fore. We once called it Outcome Based Education because we want all children to achieve the same outcome. Unfortunately, that costs gifted children of all races. And it is an assumption that Minority children are not as capable of achievement and must be given advantages to lift them up.
Grading has changed. Children graduate from elementary school and come to Middle School unable to read their textbooks. They have been taught reading as if it were Mandarin which has words in pictographs. They memorize a rolodex of words and then cannot sound out unfamiliar words in their secondary textbooks. And yet they have As throughout elementary school.
History is no longer presented chronologically building year upon year with fact upon fact. A theme is presented like “the atomic age.” The bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima is presented as one of many war crimes of the United States. Language Arts teachers ask students write an essay sharing their feelings about the event. (A part of SEL, Social Emotional Learning as well). The children lack the foundational knowledge of Hitler’s near win over England and the Allies before the Americans entered the war, the impact of the attack on Pearl Harbor on America, or what might have been the consequences of a Nazi win on the rest of the world. Science teachers focus on the environmental impact rather than the lives actually saved from a war that would have continued and lives lost under the Axis regimes. They do not learn the consequences of socialism whether through the fascism of Hitler or the communism of Stalin, or Mao, or Kim Il-sung.
Through thematic learning, a string of single events in human history are presented in order to achieve the goal of the teachers’ unions that have become so critical of the United States. Who were the leaders at that time? White men? And thus we have Critical Race Theory. But that is only the beginning. Rather than look at our history with the perspective of those who then lived, the critical judgement of those who label themselves “progressive” dominate the Department of Education, the colleges of education, the administrators and teachers who those colleges of education produce and therefore the impact on our children. That goal is revolution. And it is working from the inside out.
God got exiled from public schools and the demons who found the schools empty brought home legion. Meditation is accepted as a form of Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Every yoga pose is a prayer to a different God. The mind, emptied for meditation, visiting the happy place, is an invitation for “Ascended Masters” -- like “the Tibetan” who guided Alice Ann Bailey who was one of the first writers to use the term New Age. She describes a wide-ranging system of esoteric thought, covering such topics as meditation, the destiny of nations, and prescriptions for society in general. She described the majority of her work as having been telepathically dictated to her by a Master of Wisdom, initially referred to only as "the Tibetan" or by the initials "D.K.", later identified as Diwal Khul, an “Ascended Master.” Her writings are among the teachings often referred to as the “Ageless Wisdom.”
Robert Muller, founder of UNESCO, founded a School of Ageless Wisdom in Arlington, Texas and the University of Peace in Costa Rica. He is considered the “father of global education” by the United Nations. Mullers’ education programs are based on the teachings of Alice Bailey who first called her publishing company, the Lucifer Trust. Therefore the father of global education has based his curriculum on “an ascended Master” -- or what Christians would call a demon.
Bailey taught that the practice of meditation is one of the most important means of recognizing one’s own divinity and tapping into the wisdom of the universe. She founded the Arcane School, which brings together groups of three people in a New Age triangle to meditate and study together. She organized meditation groups to meet on the full moon “to create lines of spiritual force” She described meditation as the transmission of spiritual energy from mystical realms (A Treatise on White Magic, p. 90). She considered it as a means of communicating with her Ascended Masters.
This is what and who has replaced traditional education that sent our first astronauts to the moon.
Education has now evolve into Social Justice and the teachings of the defrocked Jesuit priest who began with Liberation Theology and then with Marxist friends became Liberation Pedagogy founded on his book the Pedagogy of the Oppressed. Ergo Outcomes Based Education and Equity.
Social Emotional Learning in Dothan, Alabama, now uses Meditation as its center. It is founded on the teachings of Ascended Masters through Alice A Bailey who inspired Robert Muller of the United Nations Education Science and Education Organization (UNESCO) considered the Father of Global Education” who created World Core Curriculum.
And yet, because we are all afflicted with the “bigotry of low expectations” we buy the claims of administrators who ask us, “Do you realize how many free lunches we distribute?” blaming the high illiteracy rate, declining ACT scores and low national standing in Math on our minority students and not our monstrous curriculum.
Establishment educators will continue establishment curriculum as long as the establishment public endorses them.
I invite you to research all that I have written.

The Plight of our Students in Dothan City Schools
Dothan City Schools implements Peer Helpers program reads the headline on the article written by Eagle writer Megan Reardon in November of 2021. Using that alongside Meditation, an eastern religious practice banned by law (https://legiscan.com/AL/text/HB246/2021), but promoted through the Mental Health Wellness of Dothan City Schools, children are losing quite a lot of academic time.
That is time our children do not have to waste. Look at the Reading Scores for Dothan City Schools and those of the surrounding area. When you have 61% of students in a school unable to read on grade level, or 48 % or 47% or even 7%, it looks like one would take a look at the curriculum and ask why they continue using methods that have failed our schools for 30 years.

Not only those methods have gotten enshrined in our schools, but we now have "constructivist" math to deal with that intentionally creates "cognitive dissonance." Cognitive dissonance is a state of confusion brought about by conflicting beliefs. And thus, we have another movement afoot, “Queering Elementary Schools: Advancing the Dialogue about Sexualities and Schooling” promoted by the Leftist group self-titled the Queer Mathematics Teacher that plan to put gender theory in k-12 math.
Remember Weatherman and domestic terrorist Bill Ayers? In 2007, a group from the American Educational Research Association (AERA), led by Ayers, now with a Ph.D. in education, demanded major accrediting organization for schools, colleges, and departments of education include categories of "social justice, sexual orientation and gender identity" in its standards.
Now might be the time to mention that critical theory means what it says, condemnation and dismissal of our culture. It is not higher order thinking. It was designed as a strategy to change, revolutionize, and bring down America by criticizing it. It was developed by the Frankfurt School of immigrant German socialists and adopted by Paolo Freire and the Whole Language/Marxist Liberation Pedagogists.
So, here we have a child who cannot read, finds math intentionally creating confusion, then throw in critical race theory, critical gender theory, critical pedagogy ...
You don't think that might create a situation that upsets the mental balance of a child?
Rather than blindly accept the assertion that children, failed by the curriculum, need to resort to psychological "peer" tutoring to build their confidence and self-worth so they will not commit suicide, seems to me to be a bit ridiculous!
With this number of children unable to read on grade level, I submit that their major problem is inadequate basic skills-- and the gullibility of the administrators responsible for this and the rest of us for not demanding accountability. "Education is the motor-force of revolution." Bill Ayers
"I get up every morning and think...today I'm going to end capitalism." Bill Ayers

Dana McCain and Katie Britt: Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals and Pelosi's WRAP IT UP SMEAR

I am appalled at Dana McCain's character assassination of Roy Moore and Mo Brooks, both Republicans, like she claims to be. It was done with enough snide and spiteful rhetoric to make it appealing to those who opposed them and humorous enough to those DEEP STATE REPUBLICANS who claim to be part of the Conservative Right, but think religion ought to stay in the closet. And, since she is now a recognized "opinion journalist" her words had clout with those who had enough faith in her that her demonization of Roy Moore gave us Doug Jones. She did not do it alone. Katie Britt helped. But, I must point out to the AL.com readers that it was done with Alinsky's Rules for Radicals tactics. 3. “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. Well done, Dana. Nancy Pelosi's direction to Use of the Wrap Up SMEAR. “You demonize and then you…We call it the WRAP UP SMEAR…You want to talk politics…You smear somebody, with falsehoods and all the rest, and then you merchandise it. And then you (THE PRESS) write it and they will say it is reported in the Press saying this, this, this and this and it gives it validation And then you merchandise it. It’s a tactic “ Pelosi, October 13, 2019 certainly shows up here.

Well, congratulations, Mo. Your problem is that we’re not brain damaged, and we know that this means you voted for Roy Moore. And there’s a whole generation of younger Republicans and college-educated Republican women who are repelled by that. But thanks for reminding us of who you are and how easily you shed the values that make us who we are in a pinch.
As for McCain's accusation of Sexism against Mo Brooks?
Since US Senate race frontrunner Katie Britt declined to participate in a debate, the Mo Brooks campaign has checked down to not-so-subtle sexism in desperation. You can agree or disagree with her decision, but most political practitioners worth their salt would advise her to skip it at this point.
If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen! McCain played the sexist card and knew what she was doing! What is wrong with Mo Brooks asking for a debate on the issues? That doesn't sound sexist to me. It is the label McCain put on it, a great weapon now for nasty women to use. What counter does a gentleman have?
I, a college-educated Republican woman, am disgusted by her mockery and her claim to be the only intellectual in the room. "Shed the values?" What values did she, Katie Britt and Doug Jones share?
DEMOCRATS LOVE KATIE BRITT
– 'Pretty awesome,' 'super helpful' to Doug Jones. Outgoing Alabama Democratic Party executive director Wade Perry touts Katie Britt, 1819 News, Jeff Poor, 06.04.22---Perry partially credited Britt for Jones' 2017 victory in response to a Twitter post from State Rep. Allen Farley (R-McCalla). In addition to calling her "pretty awesome" and "super helpful" to Jones' cause, he also credited her for supporting the fuel tax increase component of the 2019 Rebuild Alabama Act.
---Perry is not the only prominent Alabama Democrat to pledge his support for Britt. Late last year, former Democrat U.S. Rep. Parker Griffith also voiced his support for the Britt effort.
-- May 2021, when the news broke that Katie was about to enter the Senate race, Donald Trump Jr. called Katie Britt “the Alabama Liz Cheney” Just doing what you gotta do to win Trump’s endorsement. BY MOLLY OLMSTED, SLATE, APRIL 18, 2022
DEEP STATE REPUBLICANS FUND BRITT'S CAMPAIGN
McCain cites the Club for Growth's support for Mo Brooks as a bad thing, and yet she had no concern about the money coming to Britt from
Senator Mitch McConnell.---A super PAC aligned with Senator Mitch McConnell has funneled $2 million to a group attacking Mr. Brooks in television ads. That means McConnell supports Britt. Why?
Elaine Chao, McConnell’s wife, quits her position as Secretary of Transportation shortly after Jan. 6. McConnell begins passing the word that Trump should be impeached. But hold on. In December 2020 the House Oversight Committee began an investigation into the closely held Foremost Group and whether Elaine Chao acted improperly to benefit herself or her family’s shipping company. BTW, can you guess where Foremost Group shipped most of their cargo to and from? “The New York Times and Politico) have reported that Chao may have used her Cabinet position to benefit the company and increase its influence…”
When you see and hear all the hype about Mitch, his agreement with convicting Trump in a Senate trial, and now rumors of his encouragement for more senators to fall in line with him, you at least know the reason. Follow the money. Jim DeJarnett, letter to the Editor, The Landmark, Platte County, Missouri Newspaper

Nov 11, 2021 — Sen. Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala.) speaks to reporters at the U.S. Capitol on Oct. 19. ... Moore lost that election to Democrat Doug Jones.
KATIE BRITT IS FORMER CEO AND PRESIDENT OF THE BUSINESS COUNCIL OF ALABAMA --- THAT PROMOTED COMMON CORE!
Katie Britt is former CEO and President of the Business Council of Alabama that supported COMMON CORE and brought Alabama to 52nd in the nation behind Washington DC and Puerto Rico.
Alabama Republican Party incorporates repeal of Common ...https://www.alreporter.com › 2018/08/31 › alabama-re...Aug 31, 2018 — ... that favor Common Core . The most powerful special interest opposing repeal legislation has been the Business Council of Alabama .
Is Katie Britt equipped, as former CEO of the Business Council of Alabama, to debate these issues? If Shelby was part of the Deep State, if McConnell is part of the Deep State, will Katie Britt have the courage to resist succumbing to their influence?
“If the mere allegation, the mere assertion of an allegation, a refuted allegation from 36 years ago is enough to destroy a person’s life and career, we will have abandoned the basic principles of fairness and due process that define our legal system and our country,” Brett Kavanaugh said after the attack on his character. The precedent for Kavanaugh's attack and destroy mission was laid with the character assassination of Roy Moore. Like Kavanaugh, something about the character of Judge Moore set the Left (and DEEP STATE REPUBLICANS) off. So they set out to demolish a good reputation. And Dana McCain led the charge.Apparently Roy Moore's support of the Ten Commandments garnered pure rage on the Left (and Near Left aka DEEP STATE REPUBLICANS). Now, you tell me the Left is not rallying AGAINST traditional values of our country. So much so that promoting lies is not beyond them, and sadly conservatives are gullible enough to fall victim to their propaganda.

Just as they did with Roy Moore, opponents searched for Resist Movement candidates willing to come forward to lodge a complaint against Kavanaugh, preferably of a sexual nature because they are the hardest to prove, especially without a place or a time, as far back as possible and bring it forward in a crucial race. And in the Kavanaugh case, just as in the campaign of personal destruction against Moore, they used a yearbook as well, falsified in Moore's case. That character assassination got Doug Jones elected. And now Doug Jones, who McCain and Britt helped elect, supports mob rule.
Sexual accusations worked pretty well when Potiphar's wife accused Joseph of sexual assault. But, God made something meant for evil into something Good. Perhaps the public will become aware of the mean spirited, hateful, methodology of those with this Socialist agenda. They believe the ends justifies the means. Read Animal Farm, Brave New World, 1984 -- amazingly prophetic!.
Now we are able to see their Modus Operandi. How many ruined lives does it take to identify the technique. It is a scorched earth policy.
The fact that the Washington Post, the source for many of these accusations, has as one of its major reporters someone who is in cahoots with George Soros to promote HIS agenda, ought to give one pause about jumping to assumptions about Roy Moore. She wrote about Kavanaugh and Moore. And one should also remember that none of us should be acting as judge and jury of someone else based on simple allegations. The story of Potiphar's wife's accusations against Joseph should be a case in point for Christians.
The Radical Left won the propaganda battle in Alabama between Roy Moore and Doug Jones with the help of Dana McCain and Katie Britt.
But none could possibly have been more vituperative than what Dana McCain wrote about Roy Moore and Mo Brooks in her article on AL.com Jan. 10, 2022, 8:04 a.m. Dana Hall McCain: Mo Brooks wants to talk about Roy Moore. McCain must be vying for the Queen of Nasty award.
Just as I predicted in 2017, Doug Jones stood with the Democrats in everything from Tax cuts to Kavanaugh.
Roy Moore? That man had proven his mettle. Now, I have met Roy Moore and I was impressed with this man who actually served his country in the military. Where did Katie Britt serve? Business Council of Alabama president? A lobbyist. Where did Dana McCain serve?
After graduating from West Point, he served in the U.S. Military as an M.P. and was a company commander during the Vietnam War. After graduating from the University of Alabama, where did Katie Britt serve? In a law firm, then as deputy campaign manager and public relations director and then as Chief of Staff for Richard Shelby. Where did Dana McCain serve?

Moore had a resume filled with public service.
Now, by her vituperative writing against Moore and her vehement endorsement for Doug Jones, Dana McCain automatically aligned herself with this agenda of personal destruction. She and Britt successfully turned innocent until proven guilty on its head. Now a mere accusation makes a man guilty.
Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii insists that the accuser “needs to be believed,” and that men need to “just shut up and step up.” Is that also the belief system of these Christian Republicans?
Just a reminder -- Roy Moore would have been "standing in the gap" for us. That vote mattered during the Trump years.
Alinsky Rules for Radicals no. 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating.
Dana McCain ridiculed Mo Brooks for his support of Roy Moore, accused him of "sexism" and in the process revealed an arrogance and meanness of a nasty woman. Maybe, like for Ashley Judd, Nasty Woman is a feminist accolade
Also, Doug Jones supported the nationalized curriculum known as COMMON CORE that I call child abuse on our children! But so did Katie Britt, through her lobbying for the Business Council. Their stand was to urge senators NOT to co-sponsor legislation to repeal Common Core standards.

If the Right to Life mattered to you and a baby in the womb deserves your protection, Doug Jones does not even believe in protecting the life of the unborn after 20 weeks! And this was what Britt and McCain supported through their demonization of Roy Moore.

President Bill Clinton announced on August 18, 1997, his intent to appoint Jones as U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, and formally nominated Jones to the post on September 2, 1997. He is a Bill Clinton Democrat.
Now the stuff of the accusations against Roy Moore were merely accusations. There is no proof of those accusations except what appears to be a forged yearbook and many questions about the "testimony" forty years later of the other accusers.
It is time for us to realize there is a serious spiritual and culture war going on in our country. Don't think the Enemy will not seek to search out liars and those so politically involved that they can be convinced that their agenda makes the ends justify the means.
Especially when it means money to help them buy a new SUV which is a part of some of the stories coming out of Gadsden regarding those who accuse Roy Moore.
The manager of that Mall refutes the supposed "evidence" that Moore was banned from the Mall. Let's get off our high horse and get upset about jumping on the bandwagon like they did in California about those people that destroyed the lives of those people that were falsely accused by children under the influence of a psychologist or the lives of the Lacrosse players!
Do you recognize their Modus Operandi now? Enlist them in an elaborate ruse to frame the innocent.Have those one has enlisted in this ruse to publicly and falsely lodge false accusation.Continue the attacks to totally eliminate our country's most faithful servants. Is their purpose to eventually eliminate the faithful servants of God in public service? And now, Katie Britt's mother, Debra Byrd, a friend of Dana McCain's, is starting a new Republican Women's Club, The Wiregrass Republican Women's Club. Why? Because many in the Coffee County Republican Women's Club supported the conservative, the tried and true Mo Brooks. Katie Britt will be their first speaker. Divide and conquer.
"The first step in community organization is community disorganization. The disruption of the present organization is the first step toward community organization. Present arrangements must be disorganized if they are to be displace by new patterns.... All change means disorganization of the old and organization of the new." Saul Alinsky
What will Katie's stand on education be? The same as the Business Council of which she once was president and major lobbyist, I imagine. They promoted Common Core.
This is McCain's byline on AL.com: Dana Hall McCain writes about faith, culture, and politics for AL.com. She has a very low tolerance for sexual misconduct involving grown men and teen girls, and a long memory.
She should add that she also has a very low tolerance for Truth. But she does stick by her friends. I wonder if we will see McCain become Britt's Public Relations manager in her new office.
This old, not yet brain dead college educated Republican woman thinks a serious cross-over vote and a war chest from DEEP STATE REPUBLICANS got Katie Britt elected in the runoff where cross-over voting is allowed. Still, I will be voting straight Republican because at least Britt will support three things that I believe in: right to life, securing and defending our borders, and putting Alabama first.
I will not do as McCain and Britt did when they voted for a Democrat-- and then proclaimed moral superiority to a man mocked for supporting the Ten Commandments or ridicule a man who supported that godly man.I personally believe Jesus will be coming soon. Like Jonah was sent to Ninevah, I believe Roy Moore was also sent. Those who have belittled and betrayed him will have a lot to answer for. I can imagine the same tactics were used against Jonah when God called him to tell Ninevah it was time to repent. McCain and Britt managed to "rid us of that troublesome" man and now they will stand accountable.
By the way, I did vote for Roy Moore. McCain and Britt are younger that is true, but I am not brain damaged and I am college-educated. And I am reminding Britt and McCain how easily they shed the values that make us who we are in a pinch.
Once again, quoting McCain:
Well, congratulations, Mo. Your problem is that we’re not brain damaged, and we know that this means you voted for Roy Moore. And there’s a whole generation of younger Republicans and college-educated Republican women who are repelled by that. But thanks for reminding us of who you are and how easily you shed the values that make us who we are in a pinch.
I pray on behalf of our nation, that the spirit of pride must bow its knee and that in its place, we ask for a spirit of humility to fill our land so we can see and know the truth. We command the spirit of deception to go.
“Lord help us to see what You see. Help us to see what we are missing and see from Your vantage point today and to walk in truth. We ask for Your glory to be revealed and for revival in our land.”

15 HARMFUL ELEMENTS OF Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
From the ProtectOhioChildren.Net website. Important information available there!
(Social and Emotional Learning)
1. ALL 15 HARMFUL ELEMENTS OF CSE
(COMPREHENSIVE SEX EDUCATION) MAY BE PRESENT IN VARIOUS SEL PROGRAMS. WE STRONGLY EMPHASIZE NUMBER 14: SEL UNDERMINES PARENTAL RIGHTS - This program is designed by CASEL and similar organizations and is authorized by governing authorities to indoctrinate students and to collect the most personal data of students and their families. SEL is designed to become the “parenting voice” to encompass the “whole child” in the so-called “missing piece” of education and is promoted with dire importance as stated by their president: “Social and emotional learning (SEL) is an integralpart of education and human development. SEL is the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.” Karen Niemi, President, CASEL. By design, this “framework” is in the process of being woven throughout every subject, evolving like proverbial kudzu.
2. PROMOTES DATA COLLECTION –See Project Unicorn, Common Educational Data Standards Government longitudinal data bases are collecting data on students to follow them for life to measure outcomes for the working classes of society and the “collective good.” Parents have not consented to this data collection and many responses are private information best suited between a counselor and a patient. Phone apps among others are also used for students to provide data.
3. IMPERSONATES MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES – Many SEL programs are designed to shape the child’s developing brain to accept particular worldviews regarding sexuality, racial attitudes, and other social issues under the guise of providing a mental health benefit.
4. PROMOTES PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATIONS BY UNQUALIFIED TEACHERS – “Interventions” may be “prescribed” by a teacher with limited training that may adversely impact a student’s permanent data file. The numbers of trained counselors are limited in most schools, so most SEL interventions likely will be administered by untrained or poorly trained personnel.
5. INVOLVES PROBLEMATIC PRIVACY POLICIES may disclose student data that could be used against parents in regard to the personal choices they make for their children. If situations are detected regarding gender, sexual orientation or other “sexual rights” violations, this could become a window for family disruption or separation.
6. SEL IS A BELIEF SYSTEM OR WORLDVIEW WITH OCCULT ORIGINS - originally hosted at the Fetzer Institute, where “New Age” religion was founded. According to the Fetzer Library, Mr. Fetzer is also linked to Alice Bailey, an occultist and she founded the Lucifer Publishing Company (now known as the Lucis Publishing Company) and is also affiliated with the Lucis Trust. David J. Sluyter, Senior Advisor, Fetzer Institute[12], is also listed as one of the founders of CASEL.
7. SPIRITUALLY, MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY ABUSIVE –Sacred family beliefs may be classified as unkind or unacceptable instead of a matter of morality. SEL teachings force students to choose between two leaders in authority over them (their parents versus their teacher) with opposing directives. The child is then left to “flesh out” which path is the one that will bring him the most relief in order to survive.
8. REQUIRES THAT STUDENTS ACCEPT FALSE CONCEPTS – SOGI (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity) These identities are not based in science and present false concepts as if they are based in factual truth. Some assignments force students to produce false confessions or coerced admissions regarding oppression and expressed acceptance of ideologies that may contradict sincerely held beliefs.
9. SYSTEMATICALLY UNDERMINES ESTABLISHED PROTOCOLS AND LAWS–according to CASEL: “Schools were being inundated with a slew of positive youth development programs such as drug prevention, violence prevention, sex education, civic education, and moral education, to name a few. SEL was introduced as a FRAMEWORK that addresses the needs of young people and helps to align and coordinate school programs and programming.” By asserting this non-academic, incognito “framework”, they are able to circumvent parental rights protections such as Health Advisory Committees, parent reviews, opt-out forms, etc.
10. PREVENTS MEANINGFUL REGULATION OR SURVEILANCE-Integrated into the publisher’s live website, updates and changes can occur at any time. When first purchased, lessons may seem helpful and desirable with little to no controversial elements; however, in some cases later investigations reveal a “bait and switch” tactic with controversial lesson updates, (woke ideology, CRT, etc.). Due to the size of these video libraries, it is impossible to pre-approve or monitor lessons, especially in live form. Investigations are time-consuming and working parents (if even aware) would not have the amount of time needed to adequately safeguard their student. SEL programs may also be coupled with virtual learning software platforms.
11. REVISIONIST LESSONS – Due to the progressive integration of SEL with other classes, revisionist history, science, “human” geography and even math concepts have been observed in schools that fully embrace SEL. CASEL promotes itself as the “lever for equity and social justice.” With this in mind, it would not be difficult to transition any of these software programs into an infrastructure for a totalitarian reset.
12. SCHOOLS ARE HEAVILY FUNDED WITH TARGETED GRANTS –Learning loss is identified as a primary need for SEL with abundantfunding. This point alone requires constant investigation and becomes very detailed.
13. WAS FOUNDED & FINANCED BY GLOBALISTS – CASEL’s website reveals its corporate and foundational connections. Corporate Partners: Allstate Foundation, Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative, LG, Susan Crown Exchange. Foundation Partners: Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, New Profit, The NoVo Foundation (Warren Buffet family), Founders Eileen Rothschild Growald and more. The goal of these organizations is global education and indoctrination.
14. PROMOTES ACTIVISM, ALLEGIANCE AND DIVISION- SEL is promoted as the “lever for equity and social justice”. Critical Race Theory and Marxist lessons are taught regarding oppression, oppressors, “intersectionality”, race, gender, and religion in ways that promote illegal, sectarian concepts. Community organizing events and afterschool programs are routinely promoted. CASEL is committed to the morally bankrupt “woke doctrine” of radical progressives. Consider their SEL PLEDGE:
I pledge to contribute to a caring, just, and thriving world by prioritizing social and emotional learning for myself and others.
I will examine my own emotions, identities, beliefs, and biases to understand how they impact the way I interact with others.
I will create spaces for others to explore their emotions, strengths, and assets, and how they can be channeled to serve the collective well-being.
I will listen to young people, elders, and those who are different from me.
I will work to build meaningful relationships so that I can better understand others’ perspectives, experiences, cultures, and stories.
I will create inclusive environments where everyone feels a sense of belonging and where young people find purpose and passion.
I will work alongside others to IDENTIFY AND DISMANTLE inequities, stand up to injustice, and use our collective voice and power to create spaces where everyone thrives.
I will use: my power, my privilege, my time, my work, my influence, my lived experience, my love, my passion, my energy, and my resolve.
Because, when we commit to social and emotional learning, we can build stronger schools and communities today, and a more just and caring world tomorrow.
15. REQUIRES SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE TO EXPOSE SHIELDING STRATEGIES- BUT YOU CAN FIGHT BACK WITH THE INFORMATION BELOW:
· You will need digital access to review curriculum. This is accomplished with your own “student account” and you must insist that the administrators provide it to you, (if necessary, use an open record request).
· Administrators may say you need the publisher’s permission to review curriculum. Tell them digital curriculum is subject to review just like a book. Show them your state laws on parental rights of review.
· If a school uses the excuse of “FERPA” (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) to refuse access, insist you only want to see curriculum, not personal work completed by students.
· Copyright infringement is another tactic they may use to discourage access. Politely tell them you are just reviewing it and not selling it.
· Schools may try to provide “scope and sequence” documents for the program to see if you will accept that as a curriculum. This is more like a table of contents, not the actual curriculum.
· This toolkit may help to opt students out of these classes – use it to push back and to let the school administration know where you stand. Sharing this information with the entire community is important for change.
