THE GREAT POLITICAL AND SOCIAL DIVIDE: A PERSONAL EXCHANGE OVER FREE COLLEGE EDUCATION

The other day, I posted this on my Facebook page. The responses to this are quite telling about the great political and social divide in our country. 
One of these commentators is a Harvard educated attorney married to a Harvard educated attorney who have a delightful daughter who excelled in school, probably earning many scholarships, who attended Yale and got a degree in English with a special interest in Shakespeare. 
I am one.  I got a degree in Education/History at the University of Alabama with Masters from Troy
(paid for by my parents) married a man who attended The Citadel and the University of Alabama and also got his law degree there (paid for by his parents).  We sent three children to state schools, the University of Alabama and Troy University, and paid for their undergraduate degrees and they paid for their own Masters degrees. One in Marketing, one in Operations Management, and one in Computer Engineering. Notice these are state universities that we could afford.

Another commentator is the son of a hairdresser who borrowed money for college himself with children who worked hard and made good grades and earned scholarships to pay for their own degrees in fields that would then provide them a good living.

And then all is summed up by a Middle School Math teacher with a degree from a private Baptist college.

All of these people are my friends and I respect them. But the different attitude toward education is quite telling of the political and social divide in this country. You may be able to recognize the Vassar/Harvard educated Hillary anointed Deplorables in this conversation.

MIKE  Sharman Burson Ramsey It’s hard for young people to do what they can for our country when our banks hold them in debt peonage because they had the effrontery to try to improve their education. They didn’t have that problem in Kennedy’s day. In Bernie’s day, they won’t either, because Bernie will make the rich again pay their fair share of taxes. Bernie doesn’t promise free stuff. He promises that the rich will pay their fair share for the stuff we all need.

NORBERT  Mike, I borrowed money to finish college. I worked my way through until I had to have help to finish. I paid it back. I did not look to anyone else, rich or otherwise, to pay off my loan. It took me 7 years to get through college.....I do not want anything I cannot get for myself. It has everything to do with personal responsibility. They borrowed it and gave their word they would pay it back. So pay it back. Like I did.....If they really want to improve themselves, then let them do like my children did. My children applied themselves, studied very hard, made very good grades and went to college on full scholarships. Once there they applied themselves and made the deans list over and over again. My son is completing his PHD in Wireless Computer Networking Cybersecurity on a Department of Defense grant. Because he worked very hard and applied himself. If they want to improve their education, then they should really work at educating themselves. There are oceans of very rich people and organizations that donate hundreds of millions in scholarships available to those will ig to apply themselves.

In our day people sensibly attended colleges their parents could afford or worked and went to school paying their own way to get degrees in areas they knew were employable. No one expected someone else to be responsible for their own self-indulgence in getting degrees in areas they “loved” but wouldn’t pay the bills. One of my friends got his engineering degree through work-study. Others went into the military to EARN money for college. Bernie promises to take money from working people who have worked hard and earned success to buy votes from semi-literate ego centric narcissists who think they deserve others to support them in continuing their self-indulgence.

Sharman Burson Ramsey BTW Norbert’s mother was a hairdresser with a shop in her home where I grew up knowing her children (including Norbert) because that is where mother got her hair done. A finer woman never walked the face of this earth. Her children all have her work ethic. I am blessed to know them.

MIKE. You folks don’t seem to understand the magnitude of the problem. If you or I had had the level of debt that recent generations are experiencing, we wouldn’t be the Horatio Algers you like to paint yourselves. Young people are saddled with this debt, which prevents them from taking advantage of the opportunities you and I had, because the government allowed predatory lenders to invade the school loan business, after the government withdrew massive support for public education. Student debt now exceeds credit card debt in this country. Did you know that? And there is no escape, thanks to federal legislation sponsored by Joe Biden, which denies bankruptcy protection to student borrowers. You can comfort yourselves with feel good stories about your own escape from relatively minor debt, but a country that cripples its youth in this manner invites a rueful reckoning, especially in a world economy that has recognized that public education should be free, limited only by questions of capacity and merit.

Sharman Burson Ramsey The government is responsible? Where does personal responsibility begin? How did these young people get "saddled with debt"? Did someone put a gun to their heads and take them down to the bank (or wherever) and hold their hand to sign their names to a promissory note? How did the government "cripple its youth" with this debt? 

Feel good stories? My mother took her Sunday school teacher down to the bank with her to recommend her for the debt she incurred borrowing money to go to nursing school. Her mother was a widow with five children during depression years. Mother worked hard to pay that debt that was not to her "a relatively minor debt". If you do not go into a field where you can pay your debt you should not borrow the money! The problem here is with enablers who listen to these whiney infants (who refuse to grow up or take personal responsibility) and continue to make excuses for their bad choices. Mother's was a debt of honor and she repaid it. 

Where has the word honor been in this discussion? Totally missing. The concept of a man's word is his bond has disappeared from the lexicon. Perhaps those spoiled brats ought to get a job that will actually enable them to pay their debts rather than pretending to be such an asset to the world simply because they were born!

Does this world actually promise free education to free loaders? If I had known that I would have stayed in school! My mother and daddy had different expectations, however. 

What kind of world do those of you who advocate cultivating more of these dependents expect to create with this "you owe me" attitude?"

I see the crippling coming from a different front.

MIKE  Sharman Burson Ramsey No, Sharman, your world, around which Trump wants to build a wall, no longer promises free public education to hardworking students. In your world, public education, like pretty much everything else, has been privatized and monetized (Betsy DeVos is one of the predators). But if you will look beyond the wall, you will find that many countries in THAT world do indeed promise free education to their hardworking and very honorable young people. Those folks understand that public education is good for everyone.

NORBERT  Mike, if they have capacity and merit, then they will be eligible for scholarships..........like my kids....it is all about focus, concentration, persistence and hard work. At the end of the day, there is NO free ride. How much of your income have you put out there for scholarships ????

MIKE:  NORBERT In civilized countries, public education is indeed free and seen as a benefit to the whole society, just like free health care.

Why am I reminded of Plato's philosophy on Philosopher Kings being rulers? 

Plato argues that a specific education, available to few, will allow these few to become philosophers. This would create a ruling class that is not representative of the ruled. These philosophers will be the kings. And, of course, Plato was a Philosopher. 

I guess he also would have had the Deplorables supporting that elite. 

Baltimore Schools report 0 students proficient in math, reading...

Wonder why Baltimore is in the fix it is in? Malfeasance on so many levels. It does not matter how much money you throw at a problem if those dollars stick to many fingers along the way and support "politically correct" experimental programs. As long as we get caught up in "racism" accusations these poor children will continue to be the victim. The mayor on down. Where is all the money going? Does it matter if the roof leaks when the curriculum is so bad that children cannot read? Do teachers teach according to the pay scale or children learn according to their environment?

We sent our children to a school with a traditional Christian education in modular buildings. They all scored above the 98 percentile in math and reading. And that school did not require degrees in EDUCATION, the common denominator in all the failed schools. Those teachers attended a workshop at Pensacola Christian Academy.
Now public schools are bound to a single curriculum, COMMON CORE, developed by Obama buds in Chicago (another failed city), including Bill Ayers and David Coleman, known as the architect of Common Core. He is the son of the former president of Bennington College, Liz Coleman, graduate of the University of Chicago, a big proponent of big government and Marxist ideology. Coleman’s prior association with Ayers, Obama and Arne Duncan probably helped his appointment.
Or it could be his philosophy: “These standards are the most serious attempt this country has yet made to come to grips with those early sources of inequality.” He has no background as a teacher. He is also president of the College Board (yearly salary $550,000 total compensation $750,000) and will make changes to the SAT to make it more socially just. (This should set up red alert warning flags for Home and Christian schooled children who will need to pass these tests to get into college.)
Coleman’s childhood friend, Jason Zimba, teaches mathematical physics at Bennington College and like Coleman attended Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. He admitted that his creation, the Common Core math standards, would only prepare students for a minimum junior college level--not STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
With Common Core accepted by school systems THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY there is NO LIBERTY TO ESTABLISH A CURRICULUM THAT WORKS. They are BOUND TO the philosophy of Coleman, Ayers, Zimba, Duncan and Obama. Coleman and Zimba, co-founders of the New York based GROW network, came to Chicago to produce data studies for the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC) at the time Obama was on the CAC Board brought on board by Bill Ayers and Chicago’s Superintendent of Schools, Arne Duncan--later U.S. Secretary of Education. CAC paid $2.2 million for the services of Coleman and Zimba in data studies.
I say LET OUR CHILDREN GO! To whatever school their parents deem right for their child. They tried to close down Marva Collins school in Chicago because her traditional curriculum and common methods ACTUALLY WORKED to teach those labeled "learning-disabled", "disadvantaged," Attention Deficit" by the government schools to actually perform and perform well! So why are children held hostage to public schools?
The power of the union. You are labeled a racist, a Flat Earther, Ku Klux Klan when you dare to say children deserve curriculum that actually teaches them to read (anything-- but particularly tried and true classics), write (with correct grammar and punctuation, and spell (correctly). (How do I know? Judge Mike Crespi came to my defense in the Opinion Pages of The Dothan Eagle when they allowed someone to accuse me of racism when I ran for the school board in Dothan, Alabama on a BACK TO BASICS agenda. (I was accused of having an "agenda." Yep. They were right. I wanted ALL children to be able to read! Arrest me!)
David Hornbeck who wrote Alabama's ALABAMA FIRST documents changing curriculum from sequential to thematic and making Outcomes Based Education and Whole Language the law in Alabama, served first as superintendent of Maryland Schools and as a director of the Open Society Institute. "Open Society Foundations (OSF), formerly the Open Society Institute, is an international grantmaking network founded by business magnate George Soros. Open Society Foundations financially support civil society groups around the world, with a stated aim of advancing justice, education, public health and medias" (according to their website).
David Hornbeck is a familiar name in educational reform circles in the United States. He is a leading proponent of what is called, "Outcome Based Education." His ideas on education are presented in a book he co-edited, titled, Human Capital and America's Future. (I have read that book and call it the manifesto of the Left.) He successfully "used the courts" to achieve his ends throughout the country establishing this failed methodology.
As Superintendent of Maryland schools, he used Baltimore school children as guinea pigs for Outcomes Based Education and Whole Language.
Looking at these connections is it any wonder that our schools have become breeding grounds for illiterate radicals for change with no understanding or historical connections to the world around us?
And who is to blame? The radicals (or ignorant dupes) that run things. Democrats who run the city and the education establishment. They should all be charged with child abuse, endangerment, or criminal neglect for continuing with methods that do not work for achieving what parents send their children to school -- to learn to read, write, spell and be culturally literate. Not become (their version of )social justice warriors.
Baltimore became infamous for those of us who fought OBE because of David Hornbeck and now the chickens have come home to roost. Only Donald Trump dares to challenge them. I stand with the children -- and my president. Thank you, President Trump for speaking truth to power!

The Mueller Investigation -- A Weekend at Bernie's?

Where was Mueller's Family?
It did not matter if you were Democrat or Republican, we all cringed at the near criminal dog and pony show presented by the Congressional Democrats. I now hear that it was a well-known "secret" that Robert Mueller was ?... well, what is the exact diagnosis? We may not know. 
But, I will bet his wife did.
This is the only picture I could find of Mueller with his family. However, his wife is not in this picture. It would appear that the Internet has been "sanitized" of information about Ann Cabell Standish, Comey’s wife, and their two daughters and three grandchildren.

Politico journalist Garrett Graff wrote a book about former FBI Director Bob Mueller that described the close relationship between Mueller and Comey as that of a protege and mentor.  "Both men were rising stars mentored and guided by Eric Holder in the 1990s during Holder’s time in the Justice Department under the Clinton administration.”
James Comey admitted during his testimony before Congress that he had intentionally leaked details of his conversations with Trump so that he could provoke an independent investigation and the appointment of a special prosecutor. Then acting Attorney General Rod Rosenstein recommended that president Trump fire FBI Director James Comey, he set the stage for the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller to lead an investigation into Russian meddling of the election of 2016. It must be remembered that Rod Rosenstein signed the FISA warrant.

Was Rosenstein a part of the cabal planning the coup on the duly elected president? 
Comey was fired on May 9, 2017. Two weeks later, Rosenstein appointed Robert Mueller the special counsel to the FBI's ongoing probe of Russian election meddling.
Civil rights attorney Alan Dershowitz said that it was right for President Trump to raise questions about special counsel Robert Mueller’s objectivity in the Russia probe because of his longstanding friendship with fired FBI Director James Comey.  Dershowitz said “Comey was determined to get revenge on the president by getting a special counsel appointed.
Just what is the relationship between Mueller and Comey? Incidents and phrases used in this article demonstrate:

As is commented upon on liberalforum, “Interestingly, Ms. Standish does not seem to have taken her husband’s last name, as she prefers to be called “Ann Cabell Standish”, and not Mueller. There is no question that both Mueller and his wife are Republicans. However, there is an indication that Ann despises Donald Trump which seeps out in very subtle, and rather rare statements she makes.
Patrice Comey and her daughters all worked on the Hillary Clinton Campaign and attended the Women's March immediately following the election. 


I wanted a woman president really badly," said Patrice Comey on ABC. She revealed that she was "devastated" by Trump's election and then attended the Women's March through DC the day after his election. Was Ann Cabell Standish there also? 
I have heard that Patrice Comey and Anne Cabell Standish Mueller attend a Bible Study together. All articles about Standish say that she is a Social Activist. While the Internet seems to have been scoured of much information about Standish other than that she is an American teacher and Social Activist and is married happily to Robert Mueller. 
Comey's wife and daughters worked for the Hillary Clinton campaign and attended the Women's March immediately following the Trump election. It would not be a great leap to assume that Ann Cabell Standish would share Patrice Comey's politics. 
About all that Google reveals is that Standish is a:

Could it possibly be her influence over her husband, the powerful Special Counsel, Robert Mueller?

In one of my first positions with the Department of Justice, more than 30 years ago, I found myself head of the Criminal Division in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston. I soon realized that lawyers would come to my office for one of two reasons: either to “see or be seen” on the one hand, or to obtain a decision on some aspect of their work, on the other hand. I quickly fell into the habit of asking one question whenever someone walked in the door, and that question was:  “What is the issue?”  A word of advice: This question is not conducive to married life. One evening I came home to my wife, who had had a long day teaching and then coping with our two young daughters. She began to describe her day to me. After just a few moments, I interrupted, and rather peremptorily asked, “What is the issue?” The response, as I should have anticipated, was immediate. “I am your wife,” she said. “I am not one of your attorneys. Do not ever ask me, ‘What is the issue?’ You will sit there and you will listen until I am finished.” And, of course, I did just that.That night, I did learn the importance of listening to those around you – truly listening – before making judgment, before taking action. I also learned to use that question sparingly, and never, ever with my wife. 

Now, having the imagination of a novelist, I cannot help but wonder if it was Social Activist Ann Cabell Standish who worked with her friend, Patrice Comey, behind the scenes to encourage Robert Mueller to take on the job of Special Counsel even though she knew was not in any shape to lead such an endeavor. 

No worries. Comey could be the puppet master. They would appoint Andrew Weissman (probably recommended by Comey) to run the investigation. A Bible Study would be a great cover for the two women to meet. 
Mueller would only have to be the figurehead, the public face. His reputation and history would cover for the actual work being done. Standish would practice with him for any public events. The constant refrain of "not in my purview" "what page is that on?" "would you read that?" "I don't think I would agree with that" etc. showed that Mueller has experienced serious mental decline.  My husband's and my first question was, "How did his wife allow this travesty?" 
Excellent question. Were they aware of his mental decline two years ago? Were they such rabid Trump haters that they would allow this man to sacrifice his reputation on the altar of their hatred? Did Comey use his friend as a form of "Weekend at Bernie's" propping up this poor man as the head of a Democrat run hit job costing the American public $35 million dollars run by Democrat (who attended Hillary's election night party) "pit bull" Andrew Weissman, the probable author of the Mueller Report.  



According to Peter Strzok, the anti- Trump Intelligence community led by John Brennan, James Clapper, and James Comey had an "Insurance Policy." 
Were these wives such radical feminists that Mueller's wife would sacrifice her husband's reputation, rehearse him with non committal comments, and allow him to embarrass himself before an international office just to "get Trump"? 
This would make a great novel if it were not so sad...and so possible. But then, I could never have imagined what happened with the World Trade Center in September of 2001.
Coups happen all around the world, but we blind ourselves to the possibility of it happening here. 

There are none so blind as those who will not see. 

How Did Good Become Evil and Illegal Become Moral and What Will you Do About It?

My husband and I shake our heads in bewilderment. When did the world get turned upside down?

When did what was good become evil? When did illegal become moral? When did powerful media become bullies? When did those who work hard and are successful playing by the rules become the bad guys because they increased the wealth of a nation by being innovative and made money?

 My husband and I marvel as we see the world view of the likes of such as Joe Sawyer and Mika Brezinski presented as the standard of morality. Mika Brzezinski says, President Trump "could have undermined the messaging to much that he can actually control what people think. And that is our job."

Pretty arrogant, right? But, they have the power of the media and for some reason people respect their opinion simply because they ARE the media.


Mika Brezezinski of MSNBC followed her father, Leonid Brzezinski, to the Council of Foreign Relations. She and Joe Scarborough lead the anti-Trump bullying on MSNBC. How could they assume such power?

Because they are backed by the Council of Foreign Relations, an organization revealed by Wikileaks to be:

A single organization thatcontrols almost everything yousee, hear, and read in the media and they've been handpickingyour leaders for decades.

That is a dangerous prospect.  The party for which they have become the mouthpiece, the Democrat Party, now promotes a socialist agenda, open borders and denigrates nationalism. 


As socialist Antonio Gramsci said, "Socialism is precisely the religion which must overwhelm Christianity[.] ... In the new order, socialism will triumph by first capturing the culture via infiltration of schools, universities, churches and the media by transforming the consciousness of society."

This is where we are today. The new order determined by the UN and its participants in Non-Governmental Organizations like the powerful Council on Foreign Relations share this philosophy. 

Please notice the lack of a single American Flag at the Democrat "Debate." 






The hatred these media mean girls (and boys) exhibit is a temper tantrum against those of us who defied their "polls" and their "we're the in-crowd, just who are you?" all-knowing deep state contempt and voted Donald Trump into office. How could this be? They had control of education to mold the minds of the nation's children. (The goals of 

There are many others who may possibly be a part of Ayers Underground movement. They reared their ugly heads in the attempted coup of our American President. 
Molding the cadre of the nation's students into an effective group of social justice warriors was well on the way through common core. 
Socially just.

These "Socialist" Democrats espouse the No Borders No Walls of the Mexican President.

Please note that he calls socialism a religion. 


Their insurance policy after the election, a coup perpetrated by the deep state and its media minions, could have succeeded had Trump not had the courage to face them down. But, the battle is not over. 

They have gained control of schools, universities, churches and the media.  Their only impediment is Trump ... and those of us who support his efforts to maintain the integrity of our United States of America as a nation and the freedom of religion it has given us all. 
All that our forefathers fought for is now at risk should they succeed. We must be vigilant. We must pray for our leaders and our country. We must have the courage of our ancestors and defend that for which so many died.

Obstruction of Justice: How the Deep State Risked National Security to Protect the Democrats
Investigative reporter Luke Rosiak is being hailed as “one of the smartest, most diligent reporters in Washington” (TUCKER CARLSON) and “a bulldog” (DANA LOESCH) for uncovering “what is possibly the largest scandal and coverup in the history of the United States House of Representatives” (NEWT GINGRICH).  

It’s like something out of a spy novel: In the heat of the 2016 election, an unvetted Pakistani national with a proclivity for blackmail gained access to the computer files of one in five Democrats in the House of Representatives. He and his family lifted data off the House network, stole the identity of an intelligence specialist, and sent congressional electronic equipment to foreign officials. And that was only the beginning.

Rather than protect national security, Congress and the Justice Department schemed to cover up a politically inconvenient hack and an underlying fraud on Capitol Hill involving dozens of Democrats' offices. Evidence disappeared, witnesses were threatened, and the supposed watchdogs in the media turned a blind eye.

p. 72 ...the Awans were funneling all the data off of members' official servers and onto one computer in an unknown location; a massive security violation.

About this time the DNC got hacked. Debbie Wassermann Schultz denied access to that computer to the FBI of Justice having their own "independent" company in to determine who had done the hacking. p. 70 ... A simple search of Imran's name on the WikiLeaks site revealed that Imran was on a first-name basis with DNC officials and had access to Wassermann Schultz's electronic devices at the DNC. On May 4, 2016, DNC Assistant to the Chair Amy Kroll wrote: "I do not have access to her iPad password, but Imran does."
Then comes one of the great ironies of all of this: the involvement of the pawn of the Democrats, Peter Strzok. 
Ron Hosko, the FBI’s former assistant director, said the agent on the case is “getting marginalized on the thing, he doesn’t have the bigger picture.” He said the facts in the case plainly call for the resources of both the FBI’s counterintelligence division and the public corruption unit. Peter Strzok, who sought to close down the investigation into Clinton’s emails before the intelligence community IG found classified materials, and who repeatedly voiced his support for Democrats, was deputy assistant director of the FBI’s counterintelligence division.


How did this happen?

1. First of all, who were these people? We can blame the Visa Lottery System.

p. 112   In 1997, Imran Awn applied to immigrate to the United States under the diversity lottery. He won. The family--Muhammed (father), Imran, Abid, Jamal, sister Adeela, and their mom, Tahira-- borrowed money for the plane tickets to the United Stats, and when they arrived stayed with distant relatives: Nasim Akhtar, who owed the federal government six figures in outstanding taxes, and her husband, who was indicted on charges of Medicaid fraud.

p. 113 His father was more interested in manipulating the system than in working. He took a series of jobs, but only as an excuse to get disability payments.
p. 114 The father "He became a fraud priest. He put in the newspaper: "'I can make you heal if you give me money.'"

     "Imran, the eldest child, was trained as Muhammed's apprentice. Lithe, handsome and charismatic, Imran was a good talker, especially with women. Muhammed would find men who were suffering from cancer and other deadly ailments and send Imran to convince their wives to exchange their life savings --sometimes as much as $30,000--for the continued life of their spouses."

In his early twenties and while still not a U.S. citizen, he began working in congressional IT through a contractor, Into America Corp, now IConstituent, which managed data about people who requested hep from their Congress members; data that could include Social Security.

Florida Representative Robert Wexler, who in 2004 hired Imran directly. In 2004 Imran became a citizen and was hired by Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Representative Xavier Becerra.

Wassermann Schultz encouraged newly elected members to place him on their payrolls and he was soon making the maximum salary under House rules. He added one relative after another to the House payroll.

p. 71: The author writes:

I went through my database, calling House IT aides until I found one willing to speak with me. After Congress banned the Awans, many members suddenly needed IT aides. Pat Sowers took over the office of Don McEachin, a newly elected Democrat from Virginia. Sowers had, in fact, been originally slated to set up the office after the election. "Within a week of the election," however, "McEachin's chief of staff called me and wanted to hire me, but they were very clear on it, Sowers said. This meant that even though the Awans had, according to Buzzfeed, been under investigation for "months," they'd been allowed to expand their roster of clients and configure the entire computer networks of newly elected members, including two new members of the Congressional Black Caucus, McEahen and Lisa Blunt rochester of Delaware, and three new members for Florida, Charlie Crist, Darren Soto and Stephanie Murphy. They weren't merely allowed to do so -- someone pushed them onto these members.

What Sowers found when he arrived in February as Representative McEachin's second choice IT aide is that all the computers were configured to be nothing more than "thin clients" that pointed to an external server, meaning all of Representative McEachin's data was being stored somewhere else. The computers also lacked the most basic precautions, such as anti-virus software mandated by the House. ... What it came down to, they said, is that the Awans were funneling all the data off of members' official servers and onto one computer in an unknown location; a massive security violation.

WHY WAS DEBBIE WASSERMAN SCHULTZ SO DEFENSIVE OF IMRAN AWAN? 

Chapter Twelve: Pakistan

p. 125: A 2009 article in the Pakistani newspaper, Dawn, available online in English, revealed that Imran was a serial fraudster who surrounded himself with other morally compromised individuals who systematically exploited the vulnerable, double-crossed his partners, routinely extorted and threatened witnesses, framed his victims for crimes, and used political influence to get away with it.

P. 129  ...When Muhammed Awan was arrested for stealing land from the farmers, he screamed in the police station: "You don't know me, my SON (Imran) owns the White House in D.C., you will learn a lesson forever...I am king maker and I can change prime minister."

Minhas said that when Imran arrived in Pakistan to bury his mother and extort and frame others, a US. Embassy official met him at the airport at 2 a.m. and escorted him into the town to the hospital where his father was being treated. Imran wasted no time using that as a display of his influence. "Imran Awn said to me directly these words: 'See how I control White House on my fingertip, look [at] that guy (officer from U.S. Consulate was standing corner side in his father room in hospital). He was stand by inside airport waiting for me to welcome me in Pakistan.; Imran bragged: "My boss called to Embassy."

Of whom was he referring? Boss? White House? Just how far did this go?

What Minhas said next was shocking. His brother witnessed Muhammed give Rehman Malik, a former intelligence officer who went on to become Pakistan's interior minister, a USB of data. "After Imran father deliver USB to Rehman Malik, four Pakistani [intelligence] agents were with his father twenty-four hour on duty to protect him. Oh, yes, some Pakistani [intel] agents were with him all the time, as per order of Rehman Malik [former interior minster]."

The book ends with the question:

Do they even know that the Awn groups relatives and associates continue to occupy sensitive IT roles in the federal government, including one who got a top-secret intelligence contract with the Obama White House despite the fact that his previous position was operating a car dealership? That another associate won a multimillion-dealership? That another associate won a multimillion
-dollar Department of Defense contract (in fact, he got preference for it by invoking his status as an ethnic minority)? That a former roommate runs IT for the Department of Homeland Security's Customs and Border Protection?

Do they want to know?

This is the story of a cover-up, manipulation, and the subversion of justice, and it is a true one in a world whee true stories often don't have happy endings. But one conclusion seems clear: the DOJ, Democrats ad some establishment republicans are all on the same team. One where insiders go along to get along. 

Every American should read this book just to understand how vulnerable our national security is. And when you look at this clip, you will see just how misplaced is our trust in any version of the truth coming from the Democrats' mouths.

CORE KNOWLEDGE AND RIGGS: AN ANSWER TO REPLACING COMMON CORE

Thank you, Jane, for sharing this with me! My understanding is that Riggs is the company built around Spalding Writing Road to Reading developed by Romalda Spalding, a disciple of Dr. Samuel Orton, founder of the Orton Dyxlexia Society. This program is effective with children first learning to read keeping them from ever acquiring a "learning disability" (school induced dyslexia) Principal John Winston discovered that his identified "dyslexics" fell from 40 to 1 when he initiated the Spalding Writing Road to Reading in the elementary (90% minority, serving 3 housing projects in Louisiana) and brought their reading scores from the 25th percentile to the 80th. Add that to a Core Knowledge curriculum (sequential learning skill upon skill foundational rather than thematic) and our children will soar!The program is also effective with those learning English as a second language as well as those who already have learning disabilities. But, this will NEVER HAPPEN IF YOU LEAVE IT TO THE COLLEGES OF EDUCATION. They have been brainwashed and taken over by PROGRESSIVE educators who have a political agenda. Our only hope is to take education out of the hands of professional "educators" and allow those with degrees outside of education to take their places in the classrooms of our country. Master teachers do not have more knowledge to impart. Their certification relies upon their "methodology". Does their class exemplify thematic learning, group learning, peer tutoring, multiculturalism, inferential learning (rather than direct instruction). Good civics instruction would be wonderful as would authentic History. But, those who have teaching certificates have been indoctrinated into an ideology rather than content (as leading Harvard pedagogue, founder of Liberation Theology, calls it in his book, Pedagogy of the Oppressed.) This philosophy dominates our colleges of education and those materials in Common Core produced by Pearson. Our schools must first have leaders who are not followers. They must have the moral courage to reject "current wisdom" (as Dean Kunkel of the Auburn College of Education called Whole language in the early 90s) but they are now bound by the money they have already spent and our children will continue to be slaves to that philosophy. Unless parents vote with their feet and start charter schools where THEY will determine the curriculum rather than those with "degrees" in current wisdom, you are back where you started.. I would love to be on a committee to make this happen. But, I am too outspoken, I guess. Plus, I think. Therefore I write. And you would know every detail of every conflict because it would take many voices to free our children from this debacle.

I am appalled by the continuing Broadcast Bullying by the major media. SHAME! Claiming the young man, a high school student at an age particularly vulnerable to the bullying, was "smirking" according to a reporter, who set the tone for her judgmental report on the confrontation. Pursued by the elderly Native American beating a drum in front of him, the young man smiled at him. But the Broadcast bullies choose to accuse these young people of rude and disrespectful behavior in the face of a confrontation these children, waiting for a bus at the Lincoln memorial, had never had to face before. The young man has gotten death threats. We in Panama City ought to be even more appalled after seeing the effects of bullying on the middle schooler at Surfside Middle School. These broadcast bullies are adults! But, children, unless they are alien children, are fair game to these folks. "Crackers with Make America Great Again hats on," they were called. It makes me nauseous how evil these people are. How quick they are to misinterpret every act and facial expression to support their own agenda. Disgusting!

This was my bedroom at our townhouse before the storm. We heard that evacuation was Mandatory on Monday. We packed an overnight bag and left to stay with my sister and her husband in Dothan. Wednesday the storm happened and our life was changed. Below is our bedroom after the storm. Yo probably cannot see all of the mildew around the room. 

This is what it looks like now. This is my bedroom now and my clothes closet. 
When the remediation people (Serv Pro out of Mesquite Texas) came in they ripped out everything and put MOST of it in black bags. I went through the black bags. My grandmother's jewelry box and other jewelry is missing. They vow that they vet every employee. I dropped in frequently. As you know, I probably need another hip replacement and Joe has had three brain surgeries this year. There is no way he and I could make it up and down the three stories to move furniture and carry things up and down the stairs. We needed their help. Everyone said SERPRO was respected and to be trusted. Licensed and bonded?

My Acorn Chairlift did not work because the power had been out for weeks. Generators were the source of power to dehumidify the house. The Roof had a hole in it and the water and humidity caused lots of problems and that was the reason for our efforts at "mitigating" the damage. We found out that a national service like Serv Pro sets up in town and franchises from around the country come into the disaster zone. Serv Pro out of Alabama BWW, Inc. dab SERPRO of Birmingham was apparently in charge of distributing the different franchises out as the calls came in. We just happened to get the folks out of Mesquite Texas.

We thought it strange when the owner of the franchise told us we had to give them our credit card just for them to hold on file until the work was done. But, Treasure Island Marina has the same policy. I understood they would communicate with our insurance company about the charges, so on Oct. 21, I forwarded them all the information I had about our insurance company.  We called our credit card and told them to extend our credit to $25,000, the most, they assured us that this would cost and it was just to have on record, anyway. We did not know that BWW would go ahead and charge that amount. 
We did not know that until we got a notice from our medical insurance company that their automatic payment would not go through that they had immediately charged $25,000 to our card. Now remember, Joe has had three brain surgeries. We are serious about paying our insurance. I immediately went to our credit card statement and discovered that charge. WE HAD NOT EVEN RECEIVED AN INVOICE AND YET THE MOST IT COULD HAVE BEEN WAS CHARGED. I called and demanded an invoice. 
The hurricane occurred on October 10, 2018. It took at least 10 days for us to get back into town to deal with any of this because of the debris in the streets. You must remember that 100,000 plus were affected by this storm. Competition was tough finding folks to cut the trees off homes and out of yards just to enable access to them. 
The tree behind the gazebo started off on top of our house. Drew came over and cut the tree off the house and put the tarp on for us. You would not believe the charges for cutting trees here!   The picture on the right was our back deck. We could not go out the back door of our guest house. But, in spite of the holes in the roof, and the window that blew out spewing shattered glass into the rugs (had to be thrown out so grandchildren would not get glass in feet) and upholstered furniture (will have to go as well, shards of glass and mold).  And yet, inside this little house in spite of cupping floors and leaking roof, it is livable.

So, back to the SERV PRO story. I called and asked for an Invoice even though their work was not finished and they had left.

The Invoice was dated November 7 and the amount was $20,788.25. In other words, they had over charged us $4,211.75, according to their accounting. That money was not returned to us until I told them I had called the Florida Attorney General's office who told me to also alert the Texas Attorney General's office who told me to also call the Feds. I did so. The forms to fill out are in my drawer. When I finally called Mesquite Texas and spoke to the boss's wife, also a partner in the business, she put her husband on the phone and he apparently got in touch with BWW in Alabama who finally cut us a refund check and had it next day delivered to us on December 12.

Fortunately, I was able to call my credit card company and give them a check over the phone when I realized what had happened from our account (fortunately we had sold some timber and had some funds there). I called our medical insurance folks and they resubmitted their charges. Our credit card company covered our medical insurance accounts.

I have been going through the black bags in which SERVPRO stuck all that was in my closet. The clothes in most of the bags were mildewed, etc. so I listed them for the claims. They even emptied the drawers in all of my other furniture that was not damaged, AND only had to be shifted so that they could do the other work.

I could not find my grandmother's jewelry box and other jewelry that was on a shelf in the closet. This is all I found in those black bags relating to my jewelry.


The box on the left once held my three strand pearl bracelet with the emerald clasp, an anniversary present. The one on the right held my gold necklace with the gold shell slide, also a gift. I asked the guy in Mesquite about their claim to have vetted all of their employees. I said, "Then who was the guy with the tattoos up his neck." "We employ a lot of people. You can't expect me to remember every one!" That ought to tell us something. 
I am sure I haven't remembered all that is lost. Like my turquoise necklace I just remembered.

We are blessed. We had resources. If you do not have money to get the ball rolling you get put to the back of the line because those others are also needing the same services you do -- tree cutting, an electrician to repair the mast that got messed up when the tree fell onto your house, a bobcat to move all the debris on your yard to a place where one of those services that pick up heavy logs and limbs can eventually pick up the debris.

All the while you are trying to talk to your insurance company to get the help you need. Ironically they tell you to file online. Do they not know that THERE IS NO INTERNET SERVICE! YET! AND IT IS DECEMBER 22. That means there is no cable, landlines for telephone, cell towers are down so there is frequently no cell reception. For weeks you could not drink the water, it had to be boiled. The power company was cheered when it finally arrived. You cannot call your doctor because his landline is down. You must go by their office to see if they are open or if they have moved. Many have moved. Some across the bridge to the Beach which suffered little or no damage, believe it or not!! Our beautiful canopy of trees all over Panama City is gone. They are now cut up into little pieces and build a wall on the side of the road that it takes trucks days to pick up because those double trucks must balance the weight to make sure they are safely loaded. And they cannot pick up under some power lines.

 And so, here we live, until our General Contractor can get to our townhouse. We bought this home when a friend from whom Drew was renting decided to sell. We are very comfortable here. If you come in and close the door, you don't really think of the dystopian world outside the door.

So, this Christmas at Mimi's will be quite different. I could not find my ornaments and actually surprised myself with wanting to do any decorating (putting up a tree). But then I encountered my friend, Jan Rascoe at Lowe's. Her husband, Steve, was pastor at the First Methodist Church who died suddenly about two weeks ago. He had worked so hard helping others his big heart just gave out. I figured he neglected his own needs while helping others. They buried him with a beard he said he would not cut until everyone had their power restored. I enveloped Jan in a hug when I saw her. I asked what she was coming to Lowes for and she said, "I need something bright, something colorful." Bless her heart. Hallmark Flower Shop was closed because of damage. As were many others. I had not thought of the wonderful uplift flowers can provide to those who are hurting. Another friend was with her. She said she had lost everything.

So up went the tree I found in the She Shack decorated with stuffed animals that were also there.


Okay, so I like to squeeze their little hands and listen to the music. 

Cecily has the mitigation folks at her house (she, Lily and Steve stayed in their home during the storm, believe it or not). Cecily and Lily went to Dothan soon after. No power (air-conditioning, lights, etc.), no TV, no Internet and boiling water sent them out of THE ZONE. Steve stayed. He is a dedicated mail carrier and was determined that those who needed their medications on his route would get them. He has such a good heart and has a relationship with those he serves, checking up on them, etc. His home was open to those who had less -- to take showers, a nap. They are only now getting their home seen about. Since their insurance has been less than helpful (State Farm) they are hiring an independent adjuster and hiring an attorney to represent them. Cecily is dependent on Insulin. About $12,000 worth of life saving medications were lost when the power went out. The insurance company plans to give them $60. She has so many conditions that are life-threatening. You can imagine what black mold would do to her. Can you believe this?

I would like to know what good your insurance agent is if all he does is sell the product but does not advocate for his insured!


But, back to the important things. Drew, Brittany, George and Sam will spend the night with us. Brooke, Mike, Megan and Molly will come for the day and then go home.

This year was a year for books. Drew was telling me about an event that occurred at his shop (he builds furniture now, Azalea Home Furnishings. A gifted Carpenter). His helper came to him and said, "There's somebody at the door you need to speak to." There he met  a woman who said to him, "I am so sorry to bother you. A friend gave me a ride to a church because I needed to ask for help to get my car fixed. I have had surgery and am still recovering. I thought I could walk home, but I just cannot make it. Could you please give me a ride?"
Drew said, "I remembered the story I heard once of the shoemaker who lived alone with a window onto a busy street. He saw an angel who told him, 'Jesus is coming to see you tomorrow.'"
During the day, he had several visitors all of whom he gave a pair of shoes. That night, he sat alone, once more and as he nodded off he said to himself, "Jesus was supposed to come today."
The angel came once more and said, "He did. He was the mother whose child had no shoes and you gave her the shoes you had made for your own child." He was the....jNeedless to say, he gave the lady a ride.
Tears came to my own eyes when he told me that. Drew was the little boy who climbed over me and under me while I held Brooke in my arms and Cecily read along over my shoulder. He did hear. 
All five of my grandchildren will get the book, Papa Panov's Special Day, along with other books that I have ordered using my iPhone because the INTERNET REMAINS DOWN. 
I the midst of this I do remember the reason for the season. Our Lord Jesus Christ came to earth as a baby, a human being and experienced all of our pain upon the Cross. He was born for me. He died for me. And you. 
My Presbyterian Church had the roof blown off. It is destroyed. Earlier deacons had decided $40,000 a year for wind insurance was too much. How can you help people and save money? They did manage to saved $1,000,000 in reserve. $750,000 has already been spent for mitigation. Where to go from here? For the moment we meet at the Church for the Seventh Day Adventists who are sharing their facility with us. 


A friend had the entire back of her house blown off. She, her son, her granddaughter were in the house. Their ears popped and her son yelled, "to the hall!" they looked up to see the roof blow off. All the antiques that had meant so much are destroyed. "Suddenly," she said, "those things that had meant so much really don't matter, anymore. We are all alive." She will build a new house on the lot. But for now, she is also homeless. Fortunately, she has insurance. 
"All things work together for good to those who love Him and are called according to his purposes." Even a Hurricane.

Hurricane Michael Refugee Panama City

We are refugees from Michael, a situation one never envisions for oneself. Monday of last week, October 8, I had plans to get my hair done, play bridge at the Yacht Club and attend the St. Andrew Bay Yacht Club Ladies Auxiliary on Thursday. However, we heard that there was a mandatory evacuation called for 6 am the next morning. I packed us a change of clothes and Joe and I headed for Dothan to stay with my sister Sylvia and her husband Tom who have a beautiful home with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. We brought Gigi, our standard poodle, with us. Should something happen that it was difficult to return home, I told Joe, we should have her with us. Sylvia has two little schnauzers who are aged and delicate, so we took Gigi to Westwood Pet Care and our friend Gerry Fontaine. 
Hoping daughter Cecily, her husband Steve, and daughter Lily would be coming close behind, we left daughter Brooke's home free for them.
We weathered the storm with Sylvia, Cecily et. al refusing to leave her home. Fortunately, their neighborhood had little damage, just a bit of the roof.  It is now Saturday. They finally have come north to Dothan and Brooke and Mike's home. For how long, there is no telling. There still is no power and they must boil water and cannot flush commodes because the sewage is backing up in Panama City. 
We wanted to go to Panama City and see what had happened to our guest house and townhouse. But, with my arthritis, I realized I would not be much good doing all the walking and carrying that might be necessary, so we called Drew, who has become quite a gifted carpenter and we met him in Crestview and Joe joined him in his truck with tarp, chain saw, wood, etc. and I went on to Mobile and Brittany and the boys while they went to Panama City to deal with whatever needed to be dealt with.

We were amazingly blessed that so many of the things that were my mother's and father's survived. As did my portraits!

So far so good. But it will be a long time sitting with wet carpet in there. And we cannot get in to move anything out.

It is amazing to see the things that remained unmoved in our townhouse right next to a really big mess. Wind, rain and tree limbs. 
But you can't hurry. Now Panama City is still getting the basics repaired and the roads cleared so that we can begin rebuilding. 
But the truth is we are so very blessed. We have our family intact and had a wonderful visit with my family in Dothan. And now we are comfortably ensconced in Mobile with our son and daughter-in-law and two grandsons. Drew and Joe will return to Panama City. Our son will put us at the top of his work list. Our Insurance will help us rebuild the townhouse and repair the guesthouse. Our dog plays happily with Brooke and Mike, Cecily and the granddaughters. Our neighbors guard our spot while we are not there and we will all rebuild. One neighbor is a retired veteran and policeman with a supply of defense devices (guns). We have heard there are looters in the neighborhood, believe it or not.

I had to buy some clothes today because I only planned to be gone overnight. I saw an old friend from Dothan, Robin Brookshire at the Dillards in Panama City.

Joe and I are together. Our children are safe. We have air-conditioning. 
God is good.

What folks don't realize is that the Deplorable are really not dyed in the wool Republican or Democrats. They are a group of folks disgusted with what they saw in Washington who voted to kick the bums out (including elitist Republicans). Trump had the vision of what we saw and he had the charisma to capture the attention of the public and the independence of spirit and means to carry through.

On American workers competing with illegal immigrants for jobs:I think that position is only half the story. Yes, it is true that hiring an illegal worker is cheaper than paying a legal one. But why put all the blame on the illegal worker, instead of those who are hiring them and paying them the substandard wages? In addition, as "Brookings Senior Fellow Vanda Felbab-Brown explains in her new Brookings Essay, “The Wall,” immigrants may not actually be “stealing” as many U.S. jobs as Trump thinks. As she put it, “the impact of immigrant labor on the wages of native-born workers is low…Felbab-Brown explains that many of the jobs occupied by undocumented workers in the United States are physically demanding jobs that Americans do not want, such as gutting fish or work on farm fields. She argues, “fixing immigration is not about mass deportations of people but about creating a legal visa system for jobs Americans do not want. And it is about providing better education opportunities, skills-development and retooling, and safety nets for American workers. Big business uses illegals for low wages. Fat Cats in Washington want them for domestics. Democrats want them for votes. Seems to me Trump is the only one defending the American worker by insisting upon LEGAL immigrants and rounding up the ILLEGAL ALIENS so that the American worker can get a better wage! Cesar Chavez was once an icon of the Left. He defended American farmworkers. Illegal immigrants (he called them "wetbacks") hired by business owners broke the backs of the farm workers union.




 On NATO, which was founded by the US and its allies after WWII. The issue to me is more related to the huge US military budget and its role of intervening militarily around the world for years. We currently have military in place in 150 countries around the world. How much does that cost?

I also would like for us to move out of many of those battles around the world. So does Trump. Maybe now that we don't have. The other countries in NATO have left Americans to pay more than their share ever since its inception. They can now pull up their big girl panties and pay their own way.  Other diplomats were afraid to stand up to them.

On taxes: The Republican tax bill does favor the wealthy: An Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center analysis finds that some 80 percent of the benefits in the plan would go to households making more than $900,000 annually. An analysis by Business Insider found that tax cuts for Americans who earn more than $1 million a year "more than tripled since the House first introduced its tax plan."

1. Manufacturing is returning to the U. S. 2. Women and men have now got more money in their pockets because of tax relief.3. Unemployment is down for every group, Black/White/Hispaic/Women and Men4. Wages are going up as are bonuses
5. The Stock Market is higher than ever
Rather than all this class jealousy shouldn’t it be acknowledged that the targeted tax cuts enabled the Economy to catch fire and lift all ships?

On Trade deals, I have always been critical of them too: NAFTA, TPP and so on. The new NAFTA deal may have made some improvements. 

The Democrats would never have renegotiated NAFTA. Democrats wants no borders, no walls, sanctuary for all. They despise patriotism and nationalism.

On abortion: I do not think Roe v Wade is the problem. I think that if we want to reduce abortions, we need to understand its root causes, provide sex education, universal reproductive health care and contraception, support for women/parents to have children like paid parental leave, affordable day care so parents can work, flexi-time in jobs for working parents. Going back to the days before Roe v Wade is not going to stop abortions, as much as we might like to think that.
Roe v Wade may not be the problem, but Planned Parenthood is. They control the sex education program in Common core. Rather than simply showing a film on the biological development of a child in the womb, clients at PPCenters are not even allowed an ultra sound so that the mother can visualize the child in her womb and be able to make an educated choice.

Hillary Clinton and the rabid feminists support abortion up to birth. What is the difference between the woman who sent her two sons to a watery death by releasing the brake on her car with them strapped in the back seat into the water. Living children are killed after birth. How can a civilized nation support this?
