Think of North Korea, China, Syria, the Russian oil dependent Germany and the EU.
Then analyze WHY would the Deep State want to draw Trump into this situation?
I do not think this is altruism or patriotism at work. The Deep State challenges the freedom of our nation. It is worth taking a step back and thinking seriously about what is truth and what is fiction in this scenario.
All was in place for the power brokers with the election of Hillary Clinton.
When Donald Trump scored the win their plans went up in flames.
But not their determination.

I think it is important to remember...
John Brennan has achieved the position he has always wanted ... arbiter of truth because of his position. But, is it truth? Remember the Weapons of Mass Destruction lie?
Should President Trump rely upon an avowed enemy when engaged in diplomacy with our greatest adversary and possibly once more getting America involved in a War witha Nation that has asserted great power across the world?
Think of North Korea, China, Syria, the Russian oil dependent Germany and the EU.
Then analyze WHY would the Deep State want to draw Trump into this situation?
I do not think this is altruism or patriotism at work. The Deep State challenges the freedom of our nation. It is worth taking a step back and thinking seriously about what is truth and what is fiction in this scenario.
All was in place for the power brokers with the election of Hillary Clinton.
When Donald Trump scored the win their plans went up in flames.
But not their determination.
And yet, now, many of the Conservatives who should stand with our President respond to the propagandists and cave.

What is a Southern Writer, Anyway? A Response to Margaret Renkl opinion writer for the New York Times
I realize this article does come from the New York Times, but I do take umbrage at this author's taking an opportunity to bash all of us Southerners who support our President as "enablers who stoke the lie of white supremacy, in their words and deeds, nearly every day."
Apparently Ms. Renkl is a self-hating Southerner, who sees her fellow Southerners as beneath her contempt. Now I will admit that I do not belong to the pantheon of great writers she mentions: "Think about William Faulkner and Flannery O’Connor and Eudora Welty, the great pillars of what we think of as Southern literature." She omitted Pat Conroy whom I think also belongs in this list.
"Great writers everywhere do the same thing," she writes, "but the South’s legacy of slavery and its overt and enduring racism make the truth a Southern writer speaks especially urgent — never more so than now, when our president and his enablers stoke the lie of white supremacy, in their words and deeds, nearly every day."
I am one of those Southerners for whom she expresses contempt. A Trump supporter. A die hard Deplorable who does not write opinions for the New York Times dismissing her fellow Southerners with prejudicial disdain.
I am also a Southern writer not on the New York Times Best Seller List, but one who writes history as she sees it from the perspective of one who began writing with the discovery of my Native American Heritage. I have an ingrained love and affection for Black people because of those I have been blessed to know, particularly the woman who helped my parents raise me.
The artist, Willie Cole, saw a picture I posted of Mattie Lee Martin (Mammy) on my website (http://www.southern-style.com) and included her in his "Mammy Project" in the Amstadt collection at the Wadsworth Athenium collection in Hartford, Connecticut. I dedicated my book, Mint Julep Trilogy, to her and Wilcox County, Alabama, relatives because of the influence she made in my life. Now, many will take calling her "Mammy" as condescending and will mock the relationship we in the South have had with those who loved, guided, and taught us within our homes.
There is no condescension there, only love and appreciation for someone too important to call by any other name. And while my first novels, published by Mercer University Press, Swimming with Serpents and In Pursuit, focus on Native American history, my most recent novel, On to Angola, very definitely is inspired by the pluck and courage of the Black members of our Southern family.
On to Angola follows twin brothers ripped from their mother's arms at one of Jean Lafitte's slave sales who are then separated at the Fort Mims Massacre and raised in very different circumstances. They must race against time and against all odds, evading slave catchers, Jackson's Coweta raiders, English profiteers, and the elements of Florida of 1821, the year Andrew Jackson became the first Territorial Governor of Florida, to find their mother at Angola.
On to Angola is a self-published "the rest of the story" not often told because it is the story of the Red Sticks who survived the Creek Indian War and the Blacks of Angola. Angola was a community established as a "safe place" after the destruction of the Negro Fort on the Apalachicola River. The Negro Fort was built by the Corps of Colonial Marines (Major Nicholls and Captain Woodbine) as a place of refuge for those Native Americans and Blacks who joined them in fighting in the War of 1812. Archaeologist Uzi Baram (New College in Sarasota) now leads an archaeological search to uncover more of the story of Angola.
Southerners who support Trump are no more white supremacist than those who consider themselves intellectually superior by claiming enlightenment. Our history is our history, Black and White. Knowing it, acknowledging the past, helps us become better people. There are good people and bad people throughout time who live in the culture and conditions of their time.
Current genealogical study tells me that my ancestors were among the Powhatan tribe that welcomed the English at Jamestown as well as those who sailed upon the Mayflower. Others have fought and died in every American war since.
To be accused of being a white supremacist simply because I am a God fearing, patriotic American who distrusts the trade deals negotiated by past presidents, who believes that the United States deserves its sovereignty, who supports borders and legal immigration and respect for our laws and those who enforce them, who voted for Trump because I believe America is the greatest country on the face of this earth and needs defending not deriding, does not make me a white supremacist. I am proud to be among independent thinking Black people who agree -- and they are not white supremacists.
It makes me a Southerner who recognizes the great tapestry of our Southern heritage. I thank God for planting me here. And by the way, Roll Tide!

America's security is now determined by oil from Russia (even though we are energy independent) because of our alliance with a country that has chosen to place its security in the hands of its enemy.
Why is Russia's Oil Pipeline and its relationship with Germany pertinent to Americans? As a member of NATO, the United States provides 70% the financial support. We are obligated to come to the defense of any member of NATO. Therefore, it is concerning to see Germany align itself with the enemy they have acquired allies to defend them against. All it takes is a turn of a valve and Germany is disabled. Rd StreIn 2011, Merkle committed Europe's largest economy, a leading exporter dependent on keeping industry competitive, to shutting down the source of nearly a quarter of its electric power, its nuclear plants. The Nordstream Pipeline will fill in the gap. In other words, America's security is now determined by oil from Russia (even though we are energy independent) because of our alliance with a country that has chosen to base its security in the hands of its enemy.
But, perhaps Putin is not Merkle's enemy. Any more than Putin was Schroeder's enemy when Putin offered Schroder a lucrative position on the Board of Rosneft, the state-owned Russian oil giant.

Sing Spell Read and Write, The Dolch Word List, and other Failures
As a grandparent, I have watched two of my grandchildren deal with Sing Spell Read and Write. In the early 90s when I called around the state to find out what method of reading instruction different districts used, Vestavia, one of the highest scoring, used Sing Spell Read and Write, so I assumed it was an effective phonics program. (Mountain Brooke, the highest scoring, used Open Court). Unfortunately, two of my precious ones got lost with Sing Spell Read and Write and have had to be tutored with an intensive phonics program. One in Dothan and one in Panama City. Both from private schools.
Why did Sing Spell Read and Write fail them? If used as directed, it works, I am told. But what happens in the classrooms is another thing. If the teacher considers their classroom eclectic and themselves innovative and creative, they do not like being scripted and therefore plot their own version of Sing Spell Read and Write.
For example, in one classroom I visited, the teacher was an extremely hard-working individual, very creative and dedicated. However, I began to get qualms and an uneasiness in my spirit when I saw these "techniques for reading" posted on the wall. I said to myself, "You're over-reacting. I am told she is a wonderful teacher." I tried not to "freak out" as my grandchildren say.
And then we were informed that our grandchild was having problems and I knew why.
This teacher, well-meaning as she was, had internalized the Whole Language instruction from the colleges of education. Whole Language had reared its ugly head again. Her "eclectic" method failed our child. My granddaughter was absent or distracted when the "real" phonics lesson appeared, apparently, though she enjoyed the sing-song with all the children.
While the rhyming songs they memorized were fun some children (mine, apparently, and they are very bright) do not "get" reading without direct instruction, drill and repetition. The first thing I recommended when we saw the first of our grandchildren struggling (and we did it AS SOON AS DETECTED) was to send her to Dianne Steensland who is a Speech Language Pathologist in Dothan, Alabama. She is the ONLY ONE I trust to make this determination.
I recognized Whole Language when the seventh and eighth grade students I taught said "whatever" when they came to a word they had not learned through their doled out rolodex of Dolch words. This guess method has become ever more popular through Common Core extending even to Common Core Math.
The parents of my grandchild transferred her from the private school she was attending in Panama City to the ABEKA school in Panama City where Mrs. Fox created the miracle of opening the door to reading. Our granddaughter returned the next semester to the first private school. She reads off the scale but thanks to the Phonics instruction and Mrs. Fox. She is now in public school in a Common Core curriculum that makes my skin crawl. But, since she can read, I console myself that she can educate herself.
The other, also attending a private school, was able to go personally to Dianne to get the help she needed. She is now a confident reader doing extremely well .
One went to the Phonics Intensive program in Kindergarten, the other in the First Grade. DO NOT WAIT when you suspect a problem!
Grades will not tell you your child is having trouble. I do not know what elementary schools grade on now, but I know when I taught in the early 90s many of those who were illiterate in the seventh and eighth grades had gifted IQs and As and Bs as well as involved parents in their elementary years and were unable to decode unfamiliar words in middle school. At least 30% of my students were not proficient readers and could not cope with the new material they were required to read.
Dianne tells me they do not refer children for help until they are 2 years behind these days. And then, I know, in the public schools, they just get more of the same thing that failed them in the first place. She tells me there is such a thing as a Dolch List and that makes my skin crawl since I thought the Whole Word (Look Say) had been dead and buried since the research of Dr. Marilyn Jaeger Adams.
I looked Dolch Sight Words up and this is what I found:
I have warned and warned about "sight words" creating a rolodex of memorized words that proves to be insufficient when one must read a broader vocabulary and is lost and unable to decode unfamiliar words. Apparently, looking at the "techniques" I saw in that teacher's room, Whole Language is alive and well even in conservative school rooms among teachers trained by those professors who got their positions as advocates of "eclectic" methods and a "blend" of Whole Language and Phonics. Ironically, studies show that not only is Intensive, Direct and Early Phonic best for teaching reading, but this first introduction to abstract thought also creates better Math students.
Dr. Patrick Groff is a highly respected authority on Reading instruction. I wrote and emailed him frequently when I first discovered the problems my students were having. I did not trust those who had produced the problem to tell me how to fix it. I did not trust the circle the wagons mentality of the majority of teachers intent mainly on CYA and getting their retirement rather than truly fixing the problem. And I see now, in my grandchildren, it is has gotten even worse. Unfortunately, Dr. Groff has gone on to his reward, but his words and warnings live on. The Dolch List is a list of sight words as the screen shot of the Google Search reveals.

The Dolch word list is made up of "service words" (pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and verbs). Most cannot be learned through the use of pictures. Many of these words cannot be sounded out because they do not follow decoding rules and, therefore, must be learned as sight words.
Hogwash! 85% of our language is phonetic. The other 15% will be at least partially phonetic. Teaching children initially to MEMORIZE THE LOOK AND SHAPE OF THE WORD AND TO GUESS FROM THE BEGINNING AND ENDING OF A WORD IS WHOLE LANGUAGE, a failed method of teaching reading!!!!!!
Ken Goodman, author of the Whole Language Catalog, wrote the definitive definition of whole language when he called reading "a psycholinguistic guessing game" (1967). Don't you love it? They get to "presuppose the meaning of a text..." Is it any wonder bridges are falling and planes crash?
The Whole Language Catalog is a political manifesto of the Left praising Paolo Freire, defrocked Jesuit priest who advocated liberation theology in Nicaragua and came to speak at Harvard promoting libration pedagogy. His pedagogy for the oppressed caught on and Radical Math came into being.
There are NO STUDIES that show Whole Language superior to Phonics in teaching reading. As Dean Kunkel of Auburn told me when I asked for research to support it, "It is current wisdom."
We are not just asking for a change in the teaching of reading, but a radical change in the social and political structure of schooling and society
So this is what you are up against in the Public Schools (and now private since those schools that want "accreditation"). All must submit to this since this philosophy has won out in the Colleges of Education and they dictate the qualifications for Accreditation.
What did Professor Groff have to say about sight words?
A third grandchild has been affected with Common Core in the "best" elementary school in Mobile. Thank God we have found an ABEKA school there. We have assured him that he is not the failure, their teacher's curriculum is. With Dianne's direction and an effective curriculum, this child should also do well.
Let me introduce you to someone Dianne introduced to me years ago. His name is Jerome Rosner. I lent my copy of his book to someone years ago and now I plan to order it again. Who knew I would need it again at 68. God doesn't let you retire, you know. Though Rosner wrote many books, this is the one I bought early on in my research to find out WHAT WAS NOT WORKING in education. The book focuses on developing auditory and visual skills. I particularly like the decoding lists in this book.

ONE OF THE TWO MAIN GOALS OF THIS BOOK IS TO DISPEL THE NOTION THAT THESE CHILDREN HAVE A PERMANENT CONDITION THAT WILL FOREVER PREVENT THEM FROM ACHIEVING THEIR LEARNING POTENTIAL AND ARE THEREFORE DESTINED TO A LIFETIME OF THE EMOTIONAL PAIN THAT ACCOMPANIES FAILURE. THIS IS NOT SO.
True, they do have a fundamental problem, but it is not in their general learning abilities; it is specific to mastering the coding and decoding systems of the classroom during the years when this is supposed to happen: to acquiring basic fluency in reading, writing, spelling and arithmetic while in the primary grades. It is very obvious that their subsequent chronic school learning difficulties stem from this poor beginning.
Sadly some of our grandchildren live in a place where the schools have obviously internalized Alabama's Chief Academic Officer Barbara Cooper's, philosophy that she credits to Jean Anyon and her book Radical Possibilities. The philosophy neglects academics and pushes community activism and diversity. Read the book and weep! When only 35% of children in that district are proficient readers, there is a serious problem in curriculum, though they will blame the parents (race, socioeconomic status, single parents, etc.) Hogwash! They should blame the parents and public for being too busy and trusting to replace this with curriculum that works! The school system blames the parents for not being more supportive and enough people buy that excuse that they get rewarded with more money to invest in the failing system!
Since we cannot fix the schools, we must flee the schools but not for one that offers only MORE OF THE SAME THING. Ask the principal of your school what reading method that school uses. They will probably claim they have an "eclectic" approach. Which means the teachers will undermine your child's education by falling back on Dolch words and neglect sounding out words, a more difficult approach that has children reading later, but more effectively and proficiently. What you hear with this whole word method is having children memorize books and appear to be able to read.
I love the ABEKA curriculum. You can look at the curriculum guide and see how skills are reinforced over the years. Skill upon Skill. Foundational education. Not Thematic instruction like Math of the pond, English of the pond, Ecology of the Pond, etc. Not Group learning and peer tutoring.
And I approve of the Christian aspect of the school. But I have also recommended Spalding's Writing Road to Reading, used in a public school in Natchitoches, Louisiana, selected by Black principal John Winston to use in his school with 98% minority students from three housing projects. After one year the scores jumped from the 24th percentile to the 80th, identified dyslexics dropped from 40 to 1 and discipline problems plummeted.
I proposed this reading program to Dothan (only 40% of students are proficient readers and to Bay County Schools where only 51% are proficient readers) but they choose to continue with the method that has failed fifty percent and more of their students.
The cost is minimal. One thing I noticed when I first got started in my research during a time when books were being selected was that the book series I knew to be the most effective, Open Court (chosen and retrieved by Marva Collins, famous black educator, when thrown into the garbage cans in Chicago). There were no remedial materials with Open Court. They chose the reading series with the most remedial materials. In other words, they chose the program that admitted to its failure. Does the make sense to you?
Given its track record of success with DIVERSE POPULATIONS as demonstrated by the success of Parks Elementary in Natchitoches, the Spalding method may be worth a second look for teaching children in inner city schools. (Or small towns with large minority populations!!!!!)
For some reason the Boards of Education in Dothan, and apparently in Panama City where we have retired, prefer to make the case that I will benefit in some way by the adoption of the Spalding Method. I would benefit by seeing children being proficient readers. I admit it. But I have no financial interest in this method.
I have had grandchildren failed by the current condition of our schools. I have children shelling out hard earned money to remediate their children and put them in a safe environment. But, I consider myself and my children blessed because we know Dianne Steensland who has helped us immensely. If only we could clone her!
I had students I tried to save and could not because their parents could not afford to seek out the help their children need. I wonder "WHO WILL PROTECT THE CHILDREN?"

On Sam Hunt's Take Your Time
I am a Sexagenarian.I'll bet you thought that meant something different than age.
It means I have a few years to have acquired a wee bit of wisdom and as the grandmother of three lovely young ladies, I think a bit differently now than I did at 18 when I met my future husband and at 19 when I married him. Now nearly fifty years later (still married to the same man), I can look back with more life wisdom.
So, the other day when I was listening to the radio, my attention was captured by these lyrics:
And I don't wanna steal your freedom
I don't wanna change your mind
I don't have to make you love me
I just want to take your timeI don't wanna wreck your Friday
I ain't gonna waste my lines
I don't have to take your heart
I just wanna take your time
I have been looking for the rest of that song and the singer of that song ever since.
Why?
Because that seemed about the saddest, most vacuous and lonely lyrics I had ever heard!
I could not help but wonder if that philosophy relates to millenial women? Is this what we have come to? Is sex now simply a mindless, emotionless, purely physical activity without responsibility or future?
"I don't wanna steal your freedom" means he doesn't want to make a commitment. He wants all the benefits of sex with none of the responsibilities. Mindless, soullessness. And women find this romantic?
"I don't wanna change your mind?" He doesn't care about her thoughts or dreams?
"I don't have to take your heart" simply breaks my heart. How many women have found themselves on the other side of thirty with their childbearing years on the wane who have given and given to men who want no commitment -- then to find their man leaving them for a younger woman with whom they WILL have children?
Why would any woman with half a brain be deluded by someone who told her that? Mindless, soulless, self-centered women whom I wonder why any man would want to deal with, I guess.
Now, my generation was the first to take the pill, to see abortion become legal and babies expendable, to be told that a woman's worth is in her impact on the Gross Domestic Product and not the lives of those children that God gifts and entrusts to a woman and a man who, in a loving relationship, create life.
Indeed, at Dothan High School, we were told in our Biology Class by a spinster teacher, that "ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny," words imprinted in my brain. And we were told that the spirit does not enter these evolving fish to lizard to baby until the mother feels the baby move, known as the quickening, around the fourth month.
It has now become worse than that. This generation has been told that God was even wrong when he made man and woman, male and female, that even your own gender is "choice."
Any wonder there are so many suicides and miserable people on drugs? If you are not happy, there are too many reasons to choose from for why you are not happy.
Here liberty has become license as in licentiousness.
I know now there is more to the song than merely the part that caught my attention and concerned me.

A relationship does begin with hello and I am appalled that with the world as it is today, my first instinct was to think that the next step after hello wound up with a romp in a bed.
We are more than animals. We have a brain that should guide us to realize that a loving relationship should be the prelude to the physical. That love and commitment will bring greater happiness than the mindless sexual act often creating life that will be destroyed rather than loved. Not a fish or a lizard, but as science now shows, life that wants to live, as can be seen with a camera in the womb recording life that avoids the probe. Fear of pain?
It is this understanding that has led Alveda King to produce the film Roe v Wade that exposes the lies that went into the Roe v Wade decision. She was a victim of the lies and now her heart and soul lead her to expose the truth to those who may have been victims or will be victims of the lie behind the decision. Women who will wind up living alone with only the guilt of the possibilities, the human potential, a loving child, she gave up to be sold as body parts in the death trade operated by Planned Parenthood.
And, in truth, I hope my granddaughters WILL take their time and not be fooled into giving a part of themselves to a selfish opportunist. There is too much to lose.
And I know it starts with hello. From there it is up to us, in our own will, where it will go.

Remembering the life of World War II Veteran Dr. Elkanah George Burson on the Fourth of July, His birthday. A wonderful life!
One hundred years ago today, July 4, 1918, in Furman, Wilcox County, Alabama, Elkanah George Burson, Jr. made his way into the world. He was born in this home, in a bed in the room of the window on the right.
In Europe, World War I would soon end in November, soldiers from all sides had begun to succumb to a deadly strain of influenza. Troop losses from the flu epidemic soon exceed combat casualties, especially weakening the hard-pressed German Army. The worldwide epidemic lasts for about a year, killing an estimated 20 million persons, then vanishes as strangely as it had appeared. The Germans were just bringing their troops from Russia.
His father was Dr. Elkanah George Burson and his mother was Elizabeth Jane Knight Burson.
They lived in a house with a stream that ran behind where Elizabeth (Nanny) would wash the clothes and carry water up the hill for daily use. She picked up pecans for extra money and one day purchased a cow and then another until eventually she had a herd of cows.
Dr. Burson (Pawpaw) practiced medicine and was the official doctor for the railroad. My father, known as George (his father was called Ellie by Nanny) had a big sister, Eliece.
Here is Eliece in the kitchen of the home that was once the first Elkanah's, a state representative. 
Later Elizabeth Burson was born, the youngest of the family. She was named for her mother, of course.
And her father's sister, Aunt Mary Elizabeth, who suffered so from rheumatoid arthritis that even steps upon the floor in her father's home (later Aunt Eliece's) caused her pain. George remembered her fondly as the one who told him stories about the Glass Mountain (that I begged him to recount, but he could not). He would run across the floor to see her and she would grimace in pain, but keep a loving smile upon her face to welcome him.
Another of George's father's sisters also played a big part in his life, his Aunt Clare (Ella Clare Burson). Elkanah (Ellie), Mary Elizabeth and Ella Clare were the children of Elkanah Burson and Ellafare Barge Burson. They all grew up in the house Eliece lived in later on.
.Ella Clare was married twice, a Mr. Molder and a Mr. Underwood. She served as postmistress in Burnsville.
One of sister Elizabeth's fondest memories was of the goat cart they got one Christmas. She remembered brother George twisting the goat's tail to make him run fast. A memory that made her smile on her death bed. Their other Christmas gift was a box of oranges and nuts bought in Camden or Selma.
His father enjoyed cars about as much as his son did later on.
His father enjoyed this car immensely. George learned to drive on a car much like this. He remembered driving up to Snow Hill Institute, founded by William James Edwards, a graduate of Tuskeegee Institute, to hear Dr. George Washington Carver speak.George Burson attended a three-room schoolhouse for grades 1 through 6, and then graduated from Carlowville High School. Those were depression years and his own father, a country doctor, had little money because his patients had little money. Payment came in produce or land. Often as a child his lunch consisted of a biscuit filled with molasses. Other children had white bread sandwiches with pineapple slices. He’d look at their sandwiches and his biscuits and then made himself a promise…when he grew up he’d be able to afford white bread.
George was a reluctant university student. His mother took him to the University of Alabama and he almost beat her home. This happened several times. So they eventually let him take a job with a trucking company owned by Nanny's relative. (The relative called to make sure they approved.) One hot Saturday loading and loading tin in the broiling hot sun convinced him college was probably a good idea. He pledged Sigma Chi. They called him Dude (from the book Tobacco Road, probably not a compliment).
By the time he graduated from college, his father who had attended to Miss Laura Gulley, the owner of the plantation house across the street during her illnesses, came into possession of the home as they had agreed.
George chose to go to medical school. His German teacher wrote a note of recommendation he was wise enough to read. "Mr. Burson is by no means an excellent student." That one made its way into the trash can. (It is a good thing the Army did not send him to Europe where he might be called upon to speak German.)
He graduated from the University of Alabama and Tulane Medical School in New Orleans, Louisiana. He finished with an accelerated program that paved the way for his entrance into World War II. When the war came they speeded up the course requirements in medical school to get more doctors to the battlefields. After a 9-month rotating residency in San Francisco at Southern Pacific Hospital, he immediately entered the U.S. Army where he received training in Anesthesiology in Washington, D.C. at the U.S. Army Medical School at Walter Reed Hospital under Mayo Clinic doctor, Major Mousel.
He recalled training. One bit especially stuck in his memory when a "friend" loaded his backpack with lead for a VERY HOT trek.
When he set off to the Philippines, they provided a trunk that he loaded with liquor to sell figuring the Army would provide him with clothes. (We harken back to the fond nickname at Sigma Chi of Dude.)
He then served in Leyte, Philippines, at the 116th Station Hospital and was sent home with pleurisy. That time recuperating in an Army hospital set him back in acquiring the residency in neurosurgery he had planned.
They sent him to Augusta General in Georgia. There he met Jean Gillis. When she walked into the Officers Club, he thought she was the prettiest girl he had ever seen.
All the good residencies were filled. So he came home to Alabama and took a drive around the state. His brother-in-law Claude Williams was a traveling salesman and told him Dothan, Alabama was really growing.
Oliver Bentley at the Shell Service Station told him that Dothan needed doctors to go down to Dothan Drug halfway down the block on the right and talk to Grady Watford who had offices above the pharmacy.
Oliver Bentley and George visited together years later at George's cottage in Panama City Beach. 
George Burson with Grady and Newt Watford George took an office above Dothan Drug company. He practiced medicine above Dothan Drug, down the hall from Dr. Cannady, pediatrician, Dr. Hopkins, ENT, John Martin, attorney and survivor of the Battaan death march, Charles Skeen, accountant, and Quay Fortner, insurance. Grady and Newt Watford became the godparents of George and Jean's first child, Sharman.
Jim and Merle BottomsJim Bottoms was Grady Watford's partner in Dothan Drug. He was a fine fellow who always had candy for hungry little girls!
With George set up now in his office, it was time to think of marriage. When he visited Jean one weekend, she had the papers out on the dining table of her mother's home to re-enlist in the Army.It was time to fish or cut bait. They got married in the living room of her mother's home. He went home that night to their apartment at the corner of Cherokee Avenue and Main Street. He delivered three babies that night.
There they became friends of Gwen Harmon and her husband and the Frank Dagostines.
They moved to 106 East Westmont.
They made many friends on that street, including Myrtle Nordan, left, and Lucille Roquemore, bottom. Jean continued visiting them for many years.
One of their "fondest" memories was of Jeannie and Ricky Ball, children of Dr. Bill and Mercedes Ball, who lived behind them. The two came to visit Jean, who loved them dearly, frequently.
One day George accidentally left out the green paint he had been using to paint the porch. Ricky, only three or four years old at the time, thought he would help out. Jean came out to the sound of Ricky muttering to himself "Paint Bussy's house" "Paint Bussy's house! and there went the green paint on the side of the white house. 
When Sharman burned her feet on the floor heater learning to walk, they decided it was time to move.
And so they built a home at 105 Camellia Drive where they both lived happily until they died in their beds in that home.
Other children came and brought them great joy.
He saw his children go to proms
Elkanah Burson going to promgraduate and a daughter become a doctor (cardiologist), Dr. Sylvia Burson Rushing.
There were dogs they loved like Rusty, Nosy and Fella. And several parakeets all named Perky.
Once he owned a race horse that did absolutely nothing!
His hobbies were cars and boats and practicing medicine. He loved his patients!

Life settled with retirement
In July of 2010 Jean dies and George is left alone. His great grandson and namesake, George Ramsey makes his way into the world January 20, 2011.
Representatives from Hospice come to interview him about his service.
One Sunday on the way to our usual visit to the Parkway Restaurant for lunch after church, we saw a family sitting by the side of the road. The mother sat on a suitcase and held an infant in her arms. Two other children squatted nearby. The daddy stood with his hand on her shoulder and looked helplessly at the passing traffic. We ate lunch and our parents dropped us off for a matinee at the Martin Theatre downtown. Later when Mother came for us, we passed the spot on Main Street where the family had been. I wondered aloud what happened to them. My mother said, "Your Daddy picked them up and took them to the bus station. He bought them tickets so the family could get to the family they were trying reach. They were hungry and he fed them and he gave them money to eat on the road."
She told us they promised to pay him back the money. My father never expected to see that money again. He made the agreement to salvage the man’s pride before his children. The lesson taught that day was more enduring than the one we learned in Sunday School. The story of the traveler on the road to Jericho came alive. My daddy was an honorable man. Honorable men see other men as honorable. If the bill was not paid it could not be paid. God poured out blessings upon the man who shared his blessings selflessly with others.
Sadly, we said goodbye to this wonderful man whose life made such a difference on December 22, 2011. He was 93 years old.
It is now July 4, 2018. He would have been 100.

Challenge to a Liberal Friend
Conservatives always find (at least) one of their "Friends" on Facebook who choose to find some reason to sling the racist label. So, I went to my Friend's Facebook page to find this.

So, I went to the website you recommended -- Wikipedia. And there I found that the people who write the articles for Wikipedia ARE NOT EXPERTS. In fact, they say about themselves, "...anyone can be bold and edit an existing article or create a new one, and volunteers do not have to have any formal training."
So Wikipedia is your authority on CIS (Center for Immigration Studies). You dismiss the article on Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador on the CIS website because Wikipedia says:

Using this reasoning for discrediting individuals and organizations, I wonder that Leftists continually tout the good works of Planned Parenthood regardless of the fact that it was founded by known eugenicists, Margaret Sanger and Sir Julian Huxley, who also founded UNESCO.
So, just out of curiosity, I wonder why the Left has not discredited PLANNED PARENTHOOD because of its association with Eugenics and White Supremacy?

It is this discredited organization that claims Tanton's (possible) involvement with CIS taints it because he is (or so they claim) a white supremacist. And it also appears they are threatened by free speech and want to let only those of their own ilk speak!

Well, I assert that Margaret Sanger was a Eugenicist and Planned Parenthood is discredited because Sanger was a white supremacist. I also assert that Sir Julian Huxley was a Eugenicist and white supremacist and therefore UNESCO is discredited.

Consequences. Would be funny if not so tragic
In 2017, according to IWB, Nancy Pelosi is worth around $196,299,990. CRPreported Pelosi’s average net worth in 2014 was $101,273,023 having ranked 8th out of 25 wealthiest members of Congress. According to Business Insider, Pelosi was worth $29,350,000 in 2012. Why is there such a massive increase in wealth in the last 5 years? The Leadership of the Democrat Party promotes:No borders, No walls, Sanctuary for all. CONSEQUENCES: No Sovereignty. No Nation.
