NO BORDERS, NO WALLS, SANCTUARY FOR ALL, 'THE CROWD BEGINS TO CHANT AGAIN.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. It really doesn't matter if the picture is real, what matters is the message it sends. And, of course, no one is held accountable on the Left for another lie.

The cover on Time magazine is a perfect example:

The "Journalist" photoshopped a picture of a child crying taken from a picture that shot around the world telling the lie that the child was ripped from her mother's arms. Yet, the child's father says his wife left with the child without his knowing to come to America for a better job.




As Jean Anyon, a favorite of Progressive educators focusing on community activism rather than education, writes:

“Social movement theory and the history of political movements – in this case civil rights – provide a rich tapestry of possibility. Images of suffering, rebellion and victory grace the walls of the American past. If we are willing, we can appropriate this brocade, and design the future with it.”
GET THAT? DESIGN THE FUTURE!
In other words, create the photo op....or make it up! in the hope that, as she writes: 
The hope that staging a nonviolent protest would cause the oppressor to react violently and discredit himself. 
With 328 LEGAL Ports of entry why would anyone take the chance with their child to attempt to enter illegally?

So what kind of person would risk their child for such a dangerous journey, If they are truly seeking political asylum why not go through the port of entry?
Possibly? Those exploiting the vulnerable.
And yet activists (cartel agents? politicians with the goal of more slaves on their political plantation? and naive individuals?) demand no check on adults simply because they have a child with them. DNA tests could address this. And cut down on those trafficking children for illegal adoption and organ trafficking as well as children being sexually exploited. 


"And soon, very soon-- after the victory of our movement-- we will defend all the migrants in the American continent and all the migrants in the world," Obrador said, adding that immigrants "must leave their towns and find a life in the United States." 
He then declared it as "a human right we will defend."


Years ago at Houston Academy in Dothan, Alabama, I taught Sociology, Psychology, Communism, American History and English. Then children learned the dangers of Communism, the consequences under Lenin, Stalin, China where freedom is stifled. 
Today,  the Chief Academic officer of the State of Alabama, Barbara Cooper, proclaims the book, Radical Possibilities as her inspiration. Cooper is merely a product of the socialists who took charge of the Department of Education and the colleges of education. Her ideology brought Alabama from the 24th in the nation to the 50th in Reading. Academics take a back seat to socialism and community activism. 
This book promotes strategies for teachers to engage their students in civic activism .
When working with youth use their own cultural modes. Example: “…a youth organizer in Oakland, CA took a group of her students to a concert by the Hip Hop group Dead Prez, a politically progressive group.” She reported: “Attending the concert was an incredible political education for the students because they related so well to the medium in which the political message was delivered.”
This section goes on to list the steps to take in order to have a successful campaign when working with young people on issues. One suggestion is to have teachers and students work together and protest together. An anecdotal protest in Chicago had students and teachers both taking part targeting the board of education. They protested the U.S. military budget supporting the war in Iraq and depleting money available for public education. (A write-up of the “Rally” is on Page 195, Radical Possibilities)
“Long ago, community organizing icon Saul Alinsky pioneered the use of conventions to establish unified agendas and strategies among groups (Shaw 2001, p. 258) and such an approach seems crucial to the creation of synergy and impact today.”
The author, Jean Anyon recommended this to teachers now community activists. Do you see truth here?


Recently, a group of self-proclaimed Democratic Socialists attacked Kristen Nelson in a restaurant. Their chant in which a Justice Department employee participated?

The Union of Soviet Socialists is the accurate name here. Socialists. And this was the consequence. 

I cringe when I hear uneducated individuals spout Emma Lazarus' words on the Statue of Liberty as reason for Open Borders. "We are all immigrants!" they proclaim as justification for no national boundaries, no national sovereignty.
In 1883, William Maxwell Evarts and author Constance Cary Harrison asked Lazarus to compose a sonnet for the "Art Loan Fund Exhibition in Aid of the Bartholdi Pedestal Fund for the Statue of Liberty" - an art and literary auction to raise funds for the Statue's pedestal run by the American Committee for the Statue of Liberty. In turn, Lazarus, inspired by her own Sephardic Jewish heritage, her experiences working with refugees on Ward's Island, and the plight of the immigrant, wrote "The New Colossus" on November 2, 1883. After the auction, the sonnet appeared in Joseph Pulitzer's New York World as well as The New York Times. The copper statue, a gift from the people of France to the people of the United States, was designed by French sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi and built by Gustave Eiffel. Gustave Eiffel. The statue was dedicated on October 28, 1886. It was not until 1903 that words from the sonnet were inscribed on a plaque and placed on the inner wall of the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty.

The Statue of Liberty is a figure of a robed woman representing Libertas a Roman liberty goddess. She holds a torch above her head with her right hand, and in her left hand carries a tabula insata inscribed in Roman Numerals with "JULY IV MDCCLXXVI" (July 4, 1776), the date of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. A broken chain lies at her feet. The statue became an icon of freedom and of the United States, and was a welcoming sight to immigrants arriving from abroad.The importance of this Lady Liberty was as a symbol of the rededication in 1876 to the concepts in the Declaration of Independence, a document for which ideals cost us much blood to attain. The sovereign nation founded on those ideals has been a beacon throughout the world.Today those ideals that attracted immigrants from throughout the world are under attack. Those men and women who sacrificed so much are now in disrepute because they had white skin and inculcated the western traditions that eventually evolved into the ideas for government that inspired those brave people to fight to establish a nation based on those principles. When I hear that the illegal immigrant crime rate is much less than that of legal residents I wonder, do they not realize that had that individual not broken the law the first time to enter the country, the crime committed within the country would not have been committed! American mothers would not have lost their children to drugs, MS13, murders, and killings due to DUI and without a license. 
What kind of round about argument is that!
These entitled individuals think they have the "RIGHT" to the benefits OF AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP.

I just wonder how many Conservatives have fallen prey to the unfettered play to emotionalism and succumbed to apologizing so as to be perceived as kind and open minded. What child have you saved from trafficking, drugs,, MS13, murders ad killings by fawning in the face of their contempt. It will take moral courage to stand for what you know is right. Do we have enough to save our country and our children from their own blindness?

Can someone explain to me how this makes sense? These people want to open the door to America and let every cartel, every member of MS13, every terrorist that wants to come to America gain entry?


When officials in our government are threatened and a party in this country thinks this is a good thing, we are well on our way to being the third world country they apparently want us to be. Laws mean nothing to these people. Our national sovereignty means nothing. The security of our children means nothing.

Just let child traffickers and organ harvesters travel back and forth kidnapping children from our country and those to the south with impunity. Who will stop them? Our own citizens are being threatened and intimidated and this is okay?
So the Democratic Socialists of America feel empowered.

I call for DNA testing!

We lead with our heads and not our hearts. That is natural. The cry of "Mama," "Daddy" makes every mother and father among us want to run forward and pick that child up in our arms. But what if they are crying for the Mother or Father left far away back in Guatemala...Honduras. If we pick that child up and place him/her in the arms of someone trafficking the child who has played the part of a mother or father during a long journey, your heart might feel good for the moment... but your head might have saved the child.

Let's delineate the issues:
1.  600,000 to 800,000 women, children and men are bought and sold across international borders every year and exploited for forced labor or commercial sex (U.S. Government)

• Human trafficking has surpassed the illegal sale of arms• Trafficking will surpass the illegal sale of drugs in the next few years• Drugs are used once and they are gone. They may be brought to the U.S. legally or smuggled in.
Internationally trafficked children, especially adolescents, may be lured overseas to the U.S. through the promise of work or school and the opportunity to send money back to their families.Children are also vulnerable to kidnappers, pimps, and professional brokers.Some children are sold to traffickers by their families, who may or may not have an understanding of what will happen to the child.
You are willing to turn a child over without a DNA test and determination of whether that child is truly who/what the adult claims? 
One mother used her own child to traffic heroin to support her own addiction. That child received help in one of those "detention" centers Never Trumpers call concentration camps. Before allowing the Never Trump Media to color your thinking, consider the consequences.
2 million children are subjected to prostitution in the global commercial sex trade (UNICEF)
2. How many unaccompanied minors are or have become MS13 members who rape and murder innocent Americans. Americans deserve protection as well. 
3. A nation without borders is no longer a nation. Children are taken from lawbreaking adults in America every day. Adults with children seek to enter our country over the border without seeking LEGAL entry means are breaking the law and using children to bypass legal processing. Just like an American breaking the law, those seeking illegal entry find themselves incarcerated. There are consequences to breaking the law as every American discovers when they break the law. 

The Flores decision ruled that children should be kept in a separate place in the "least restrictive" environment. That ruling actually protects children who have made a desperate journey and need special care. 
Would you put these children and our nation in danger just for the silly "RESIST" movement?

I propose DNA testing at the Border Facilities to ensure children supposedly separated from "their parents" are truly the children of the adults who claim them.

“It is intolerable that human trafficking — modern-day slavery — could occur in our own backyard,” said Senator Rob Portman, Republican of Ohio and the chairman of the subcommittee. “But what makes the Marion cases even more alarming is that a U.S. government agency was responsible for delivering some of the victims into the hands of their abusers.”


 The Department of Health and Human Services placed more than a dozen immigrant children in the custody of human traffickers after it failed to conduct background checks of caregivers, according to a Senate report released on Thursday. 

The drug cartels, locally referred to as "la mafia", control an extensive network of human traffickers and informants. They extort for money, kidnap and kill migrants at will. The locals think they have infiltrated the local branches of the police and government structures. 
A cross-border baby trafficking ring allegedly operated by welfare officials in northern Mexico — and then covered up by state prosecutors — is highlighting the issue of human trafficking in the country.
The infant trafficking ring reportedly involved officials from the Sonora state child welfare agency using their access to vulnerable single mothers to obtain babies they then sold in Mexico for up to 150,000 pesos, or $8,875. Babies were also allegedly sold in the United States for up to $20,000.Has the child been used to gain sympathy at the border to gain a free pass into the country?
Has a person lured a minor into the U.S. by promising a better life and the chance to attend school, but then been coerced into labor after their arrival. 
Examples: Shandra Woworuntu lived in Indonesia before coming to the United States.4 She left a country in economic and political turmoil after seeing a newspaper ad about available hospitality jobs in the United States. Upon arriving at the airport, she discovered that the men who picked her up were not taking her to a hotel, rather to a brothel where she was forced to have sex with men in order to pay off an imposed debt of $30,000. Aroldo Castillo Serrano lured Guatemalan minors and adults into the U.S. by promising a better life and the chance to attend school, but coerced them into working at their egg farm after they arrived. The immigrants worked physically demanding jobs for up to 12 hours a day including cleaning chicken coops and unloading crates. In both of these cases, the perpetrators were found guilty and received prison sentences.Twenty-four women were forced into prostitution at brothels on the East Coast through threats of violence against them and their children. The principal traffickers were sentenced to terms of imprisonment from 25 to 50 years each. The mother of the main defendants was arrested in Mexico and later extradited to the United States where she was sentenced to 10 years in prison for her involvement in the scheme.Some towns in the small central state of Tlaxcala are famed as bases for family run forced prostitution networks in which fathers teach their sons how to ensnare young vulnerable women into their rings with promises of love and marriage. Some Mexican beach resorts are also well-known hubs for child prostitution and pornography.

Adoption rackets, however, are less known. The ring in Sonora is particularly shocking given the alleged key role played by public officials supposed to be protecting children. 
Estrada said the US Department of Homeland Security sent a letter to Navarro on March 26, identifying two members of an alleged ring that was "selling newly born babies to couples both in Mexico and the United States." He said Navarro did nothing to follow up the tip for weeks.
The letter said a lawyer named José Manuel Hernández López and his former girlfriend Emma Falcon were the central figures in a "complex network" that provided their clients with birth certificates identifying them as the children's biological parents. The letter noted that Hernández possessed a visa that enabled him to cross over the border and coordinate sales in the United States.
Another of Hernández's former girlfriends, Denisse Ramos Campillo, also went to the state authorities with a similar story.
How can this problem be solved?
Few migrants who were at the Catholic Charities Rio Grande Valley Respite Center earlier this month knew about the family separations. But when told about them, several parents said they wouldn't take the risk of losing their children.
Hernandez, the mother of two, said that back in Honduras, she and her husband had it all — a home, a business and family. But after her husband refused to help drug traffickers, they were threatened and an employee of their car wash business was killed, she said. They tried moving and starting another business but were tracked down. They pulled the children out of school and came to the U.S.
Still, she doesn't think she would have crossed into the U.S. if she'd known about the new zero-tolerance policy.
“If that was the law, I wouldn’t come,” she said. “I wouldn’t want to be separated from my children because that’s why we come.”
Mexico came first in their journey north. Why did they not stop there?
The problem here is that Border officers and ICE find it difficult to know who is family and who is not. The United States cannot accept everyone who claims to be seeking refuge --because there are unscrupulous people among them who do not deserve refuge. M16 gang members, for example, who account for many of those unaccompanied minors that make up a large percentage of "children" held in centers. Their presence turns the United States into exactly what honest, good people are fleeing. 
I am the first to say that children are better off with their parents -- in most cases. But, should having a child with you secure your entry? 



Aren't parents waiting their turn through legal entry just as worthy as those who come across our border illegally? Do we really know who they are? Do we know their claim is legitimate? Is the parent any less guilty of breaking the law and entering the country illegally? Is the parent REALLY the parent?
Americans also deserve protection in defense of the safety and security of this nation. We assume that the natural  bond of child and parent is paramount. Unfortunately, in today's world, unscrupulous people play upon our American sense of decency to promote trafficking in human beings, drugs, and terrorism.  
By simply assuming that the parent/child relationship is true, do we open that child up to even more abuse? Shouldn't we allow the process to work with families who appear on our border? 

For the security of the child and our nation?
This conundrum must begin first with BORDER SECURITY, including the wall. 
I suggest adding DNA testing to keep children from erroneously being handed over to those who seek to abuse them.

P. 401February 24, 2016: In connection with a discussion about how many people from the FBI and Department should be present during a potential interview of former Secretary Clinton, Page stated in a February 24, 2016 text message to Strzok, “One more thing: she might be our next president. The last thing you need us going in there loaded for bear. You think she’s going to remember or care that it was more doj than fbi?” Strzok replied, “Agreed....” Page sent similar text messages to McCabe and another FBI employee around the same time, adding that having a larger number in the room “is not operationally necessary” and that “[t]his is as much about reputational protection as anything.”

P. 407June 30, 2016: On June 30, 2016, Strzok sent the following text message to Page: “...Just left Bill.... He changed President to ‘another senior government official.’” Based on context, Strzok told us “Bill” referred to Priestap. Strzok stated: 
My recollection is that the early Comey speech drafts included references to emails that Secretary Clinton had with President Obama and I think there was some conversation about, well do we want to be that specific? Is there some, out of deference to executive communications, do we want to do that? And I remember that discussion occurring. I remember the decision was made to take it out. I know I was not the person who did it. Strzok told us that he saw no indication that this decision was done “to curry favor or to influence anything.” Page told us that she could not remember the discussion referenced in this text message. We also discuss this change to Comey’s July 5 statement in Chapter Six. 
July 31, 2016: In connection with formal opening of the FBI’s Russia investigation, Strzok texted Page: “And damn this feels momentous. Because this matters. The other one did, too, but that was to ensure we didn’t F something up. This matters because this MATTERS. So super glad to be on this voyage with you.” 
August 8 text message (“we’ll stop” candidate Trump from being elected), was that Strzok might be willing to take official action to impact a presidential candidate’s electoral prospects. Under these circumstances, we did not have confidence that Strzok’s decision to prioritize the Russia investigation over following up on the Midyear-related investigative lead discovered on the Weiner laptop was free from bias. 

Rybicki and Axelrod spoke on the afternoon of October 27 and had “a series of phone calls” the rest of the day. Rybicki told Axelrod that Comey believed he had an obligation to notify Congress about the laptop in order to correct a misimpression that the Midyear investigation was closed.


Accordingly, Axelrod informed Rybicki on October 27of the Department’s strong opposition to Comey’s plan to send a letter.Comey sent a letter to Congress stating, in part, that “the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the [Midyear] investigation.”



After deciding on October 27 that he needed to notify Congress, Comey told us that he instructed Rybicki to reach out to the Department about the notification. Comey stated that he told Rybicki, “I want you to tell DOJ that I think I need to inform Congress of this step. And please tell the DAG and the AG I’m happy to speak to them, but that’s what I’m thinking. I welcome their feedback.” Comey stated that he did not remember his specific directions to Rybicki, “but the substance would have been something like, call [Axelrod], tell him where we are and that I think we have an obligation to notify” Congress “that we’re taking this step.” 

Is this "the MIDYEAR team"? (MIDYEAR IS HOW THEY REFERRED TO THE HILLARY CLINTON INVESTIGATION.)
                        Text messages exchanged between Strzok and Page;            Instant messages exchanged between Agent 1, who was one of the four Midyear case agents, and Agent 5, who was a member of the filter team; and            Instant messages sent by FBI Attorney 2, who was assigned to the Midyear investigation.ns by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Nonetheless, when one senior FBI official, Strzok, who was helping to lead the Russia investigation at the time, conveys in a text message to another senior FBI official, Page, “No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it”in response to her question “[Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!”,it is not only indicative of a biased state of mind but, even more seriously, implies a willingness to take official action to impact the presidential candidate’s electoral prospects. This is antithetical to the core values of the FBI and the Department of Justice.
September 2, 2016: On September 2, 2016, Page and Strzok exchanged the following text messages. The sender of each message is identified after the timestamp. 09:41:30, Strzok: “Checkout my 9:30 mtg on the 7th” 09:42:40, Page: “I can tell you why you’re having that meeting.” 09:42:46, Page: “It’s not what you think.” 09:49:39, Strzok: “TPs for D?” 09:50:29, Page: “Yes, bc potus wants to know everything we are doing.” 09:55:21, Strzok: “I’m sure an honest answer will come out of that meeting....”

InvestigationIn 2016, the FBI had an open investigation into the Clinton Foundation. Comey refused to confirm the existence of the investigation on July 7, 2016, in testimony before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee because the investigation was not public. In addition, numerous witnesses told us that agents involved in the Clinton Foundation investigation were instructed to take no overt investigative steps prior to the election. We asked Yates about this instruction. Yates stated, “[Y]eah, I think there was discussion about look, if [agents on the Clinton Foundation investigation] want to go do record stuff and stuff that you can do covertly, fine. But not overtly.... And the sort of thought being we’ll address that again at the end after the election was over.”Yates explained that this instruction was explicit because the Department does “everything [it] can to avoid having an impact on an election.” 

P. 350Comey asked McCabe to drop out of the discussion about this topic on October 27, and Page left the discussion as well. McCabe formally recused himself from Clinton-related matters on November 1. For example, the notes indicate that Laufman asked, “What distinguishes this from other devices we chose not to obtain? When think of [Abedin’s] email, her emails were of less probative significance.” The notes reflect that Strzok responded, “Volume – 500k emails – specifically domains “it is relevant that [the Weiner laptop] is in our possession.” Toscas agreed that possession of the laptop was a relevant factor, stating that if the Midyear team had possessed the laptop during the investigation, it “seems like we would’ve looked at it.” Toscas went on to state, according to the notes, “[W]ill beg the question of why we’re not going to ask for all these folks’ devices?”According to the notes, Prosecutors 1 and 2 pointed out that the investigative team did not previously seek to obtain devices from Clinton’s senior aides. 

P. 373Moreover, the Midyear team did not treat the BlackBerry emails as if they were critical to completing a thorough investigation prior to October. Rather, the team decided during the investigation not to obtain personal devices that Clinton’s senior aides used for State Department work, because, among other reasons, they did not believe obtaining those devices was necessary for a thorough investigation. Indeed, the Midyear team did not ask Abedin’s attorneys to turn over Abedin’s personal BlackBerry or laptop that she used during her employment at the State Department, even though Abedin told the FBI that she had given those devices to her attorneys so that they could produce her work-related emails to the State Department. 

P. 374We believe that Comey’s unequal assessment of these risks was the product of his belief that Clinton was going to win the election. Comey told us, “I am sure I was influenced by the tacit assumption that Hillary Clinton was sure to be the next President.” This expectation likely led him to focus too heavily on what he perceived to be the consequences of not revealing the new information, namely undermining the legitimacy of Clinton’s presidency and harming the reputation of the FBI. Ironically, in his effort to avoid the FBI or himself being seen as political, Comey based his decision, in part, on his assessment of the likely outcome of the political process. 

P. 374FBI Attorney 1 responded to Strzok’s email at 9:55 p.m., stating, “That’s right, Pete. Plus, we can’t say she mishandled on all of her accounts. Of the 27 classified emails, 26 were on her @clintonemail.com account and one was Yahoo. We also cannot say for certain that the 27 classified emails are on this particular device, which also weakens our argument generally.” In response, Baker sent an email at 10:18 p.m., stating, “There is [probable cause] to believe that Huma used her email accounts to mishandle classified information. I just don’t understand why that [i]s not enough to look at all her emails.... Would you please discuss with DOJ?” Baker told us that he believed the FBI should seek the authority to review all of Abedin’s emails on the laptop, instead of just emails between Abedin and Clinton.

·       Both Strzok and Page agreed to multiple voluntary interviews with the OIG regarding, among other things, their text messages. The OIG asked Strzok and Page each to comment in general on the text messages. Strzok explained that the text messages reflected his “personal opinion talking to a friend.” He stated that ingrained in FBI culture was a “bright and inviolable line between what you think personally and belief and the conduct of your official business,” and that the political opinions he expressed in the text messages “never transited into the official realm. In any way. Not in discussions, not in acts.”Strzok acknowledged that “it was dumb to do that all on a government device,”but distinguished his private exchanges with Page from a more public forum where expressing such views might call into question the integrity of an FBI investigation. When questioned about the possibility that exchanges on his government device could be hacked, obtained by the media, or otherwise exposed to the public, he acknowledged that “I can envision a number of scenarios” where it could impact an investigation. 

P. 401·       When asked about using her FBI-issued phone for these exchanges, Page told us, “[T]he predominant reason that we communicated on our work phones was because we were trying to keep our affair a secret from our spouses.” ·       November 9, 2016: The day after the presidential election, on November 9, 2016, Page sent the following text message to Strzok: “Are you even going to give out your calendars? Seems kind of depressing. Maybe it should just be the first meeting of the secret society.” We asked Page about this message. Page stated that the “calendars” referenced in this text message were “funny and snarky” calendars of Russian President Vladimir Putin in different poses, such as “holding a kitten.” Page told us that Strzok had previously purchased these calendars as “dark gallows humor.” Page stated that the reference to the “secret society” was also a “dark sort of” humor about Trump winning the election and concerns she and Strzok had about Trump. Page continued: ·       And so, we somewhat with dark humor, but also somewhat, you know, with real concern as, of course, our Director actually gets fired, talk about, like, well, when he shuts down the, when he finds out about the investigation and shuts down the FBI, you know, we’ll form a secret society so we can like continue the investigation. October 28, 2016, shortly after Comey’s October 28 letter to Congress that effectively announced the reopening of the Midyear investigation. FBI Attorney 2 sent similar messages to four different FBI employees. The timestamps of these messages are included below. P. 420FBI Attorney 1 stated that she and FBI Attorney 2 were friends and often had discussions unrelated to work. She acknowledged that that this was “not the right place to make those kind of comments.” We asked FBI Attorney 1 what she meant by the message, “Is it making you rethink your commitment to the Trump administration?” She stated, “I think what I meant was are you going to leave the government and start working to get more money.” We also asked FBI Attorney 1 what she understood FBI Attorney 2 to mean when he messaged, “Viva le resistance.”FBI Attorney 1 told us, “I think it was a joke obviously. But I think it was intended to say that, you know, he was committed to continuing to work for the Bureau, for these cases.” FBI Attorney 1 stated that nothing about this exchange affected her work on the Russia investigation.

Aug 10, 2014 Andrew McCabe becomes Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI Washington The FBI opened the Clinton server email investigation when McCabe was the ADIC of WFO and opened the Clinton Foundation investigations after McCabe became FBI Associate Director. Feb 25, 2015 McCabe’s wife, Dr. Jill McCabe, receives a call from the Virginia Lieutenant Governor’s office asking her to consider a state senate run. Mar 7, 2015 McCabe accompanies Dr. McCabe to Richmond and the two meet with Governor McAuliffe to discuss her potential run for state senate. Mar 9-13, 2015 McCabe contacts Director Comey’s Chief of Staff and Deputy Director Giuliano to discuss Dr. McCabe’s potential run.Mar 11, 2015 McCabe obtains advice from FBI ethics official Patrick Kelley and FBI General Counsel Baker. Mar 12, 2015 Dr. McCabe announces candidacy for state senate. April 29, 2015 McCabe documents his recusal from all Virginia public corruption cases. 
On May 4, 2015, a private attorney emailed Director Comey to request that the FBI open a public corruption investigation into Hillary Clinton, citing public allegations related to the Clinton Foundation and her use of a private email server while she was Secretary of State. Comey forwarded the complaint to Deputy Director Giuliano, who in turn forwarded it the next day to McCabe, stating: “[p]rovided to WFO for whatever action you deem appropriate.” 

July 10, 2015 FBI opens the Clinton email investigation. Fall 2015 Dr. McCabe’s campaign committee (McCabe for Senate) receives a combined total of ~ $675,000 from a Political Action Committee controlled by McAuliffe ($467,500 in monetary contributions) and from Virginia Democratic Party ($207,788 in in-kind contributions). McCabe states he was not aware of these contributions until October 2016. Sep 6, 2015 McCabe leaves WFO and becomes Associate Deputy Director for the FBI. Nov 3, 2015 Dr. McCabe defeated in state senate election. January 2016 FBI opens Clinton Foundation investigations. Feb 1, 2016 McCabe becomes Deputy Director for the FBI.Oct 23, 2016 The Wall Street Journal publishes article disclosing McAuliffe contributions to Dr. McCabe’s campaign, triggering discussions with Director Comey about whether McCabe should be recused from Clinton-related investigations. Nov 1, 2016 McCabe formally recuses himself from participating in Clinton- related investigations, but the decision is not announced externally and only to a limited group internally. 
First, we found that several FBI employees who played critical roles in the investigation sent political messages—some of which related directly to the Midyear investigation—that created the appearance of bias and thereby raised questions about the objectivity and thoroughness of the Midyear investigation. Even more seriously, text messages between Strzok and Page pertaining to the Russia investigation, particularly a text message from Strzok on August 8 stating “No. No he’s not. We’ll stop it.” in response to a Page text “[Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!,” are not only indicative of a biased state of mind but imply a willingness to take official action to impact a presidential candidate’s electoral prospects. This is antithetical to the core values of the FBI and the Department of Justice. While we did not find documentary or testimonial evidence that improper considerations, including political bias, directly affected the specific investigative actions we reviewed in Chapter Five, the conduct by these employees cast a cloud over the entire FBI investigation and sowed doubt about the FBI’s work on, and its handling of, the Midyear investigation. It also called into question Strzok’s failure in October 2016 to follow up on the Midyear-related investigative lead discovered on the Weiner laptop. The damage caused by these employees’ actions extends far beyond the scope of the Midyear investigation and goes to the heart of the FBI’s reputation for neutral factfinding and political independence.

Notice that Strzok,  "one of the Bureau's top experts on Russia"  didn't think there was Russia collusion. But, that didn't keep them from wanting to pursue advances in their careers. Which they thought the Russia investigation would turn out to be.

Wray says agents will be "trained" in what is already FBI policy. Why are they ALL not being prosecuted? The rules are there. The enforcement is not. 
Why are heads not rolling as a consequence of the behavior there in the FBI with the Clinton Emails. The security of our country has been compromised by those who are charged with protecting us!

Library Activity Harry Potter Day at the LibraryNow, both of the above activities depend upon a parent bringing the child to participate. That is a parent's prerogative. I would prefer the activity not be a part of tax payer supported institutions like the Library, but apparently the Library Foundation considered it a worthy endeavor. The Science and Discovery Center is not funded by federal or state dollars. (It is hard to see Science here, and I would argue that discovering "Wizards, Witches, and Spells" and experimenting with spells and potions should not be a part of a serious Science and Discovery Center, but that is up to the parent and the individuals who donate.)
But using Harry Potter as school curriculum takes a captive child and indoctrinates that child to the philosophy of J.K. Rowling and her creation, Harry Potter. Rowling is not an educator, but an author with a degree in Classics with Mythology a favorite aspect. Child development has no consideration in her world. Just the development of a good story and she has been extremely successful there. The two entities above just carry that role play forth into extracurricular activities that reinforce that curriculum. So, considering the potential impact on the child, I ask what long range studies have been done on the consequences of this curriculum? What is this obsession with Harry Potter and what are the consequences? 

Has any long range study been conducted on this "curriculum"? Would you give a drug to a child that had not been tested? Yet a mind is less important?Before we introduce children to this intensive role-play which is a psychotherapeutic technique to change attitudes and beliefs, shouldn't this be given to the public to decide whether they approve modeling witchcraft as a community benefit? I wonder if other Christian parents/grandparents share my concern? We bemoan school shootings? And encourage witchcraft?

Part of the problem with Common Core is that it was not developed by educators and is not founded on proven child development. K-3 STANDARDS ARE NOT BASED ON WELL-RESEARCHED CHILD DEVELOPMENT KNOWLEDGE.
So subjecting our children to a smorgasbord of Harry Potter has not been empirically tested as to the consequences. 
I posted the above on Facebook and then a dear former student posted: 

I hate to disagree but I do not think it promotes witchcraft anymore than The Lion, The With and the Wardrobe made me believe in time travel. It is just a story, that engages all levels of children in reading, and science. Sure they call it "spells and potions" but if it teaches them to learn experimenting and chemistry then I am all for it. We need all children to see learning as fun and has outcomes and this is a great way to get past the "teach to test" and see that reading, chemistry and math have a purpose and place in our daily life.


I responded:

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S Lewis had the Lion in the role of Christ who sacrificially gave himself for Edmund. That is worth emulating. However, Harry Potter is out for revenge. Is that a character trait we choose to model in children? As an educator, one must insist on empirical studies to determine the effect of a curriculum on a child. 


For example, years ago, Encyclopedia Britannica joined with the Osmonds to develop a film to encourage understanding. In the film, a child who had been bullied tried to kill himself by hanging. In the film the child was saved, however, second grader Stephen Nalepa attempted the same thing to bring sympathy to himself. But help did not come in time and he died. Psychotherapy should never be done on a classroom of students because you simply do not know how individual children will be affected. 

Indeed, this quote from Harry Potter reminds me quite a lot of Stephen Nalepa:

"But…" Harry raised his hand instinctively toward the lightning scar. It did not seem to be there. "But I should have died – I didn't defend myself! I meant to let him kill me!"

"And that," said Dumbledore, "will, I think, have made all the difference." (35) 

Ah… so, we see, it's not Harry's actual demise, but his decision to die that counts. This choice, made of his own free will, and for the sake of others, is what saves him in the end.

Potter means to sacrifice himself, but fails. What small child might think that his sacrifice if well intentioned might save others. We presume too much maturity from these little ones! Just as Stephen Nalepa's teachers thought he understood the symbolism of that sacrifice and did not take it all literally. 
By schools putting their imprimatur on Harry Potter and his magic and wizardry, they are mixing fact and fiction in such away as to influence children. How can you predict the effect? 

How many children have been influenced to actually attempt some of those spells and sorcery? Why do you think God warned against these activities and why should Christian parents allow this debasement of their child's spiritual understanding? 

Are you certain it has no negative effect on those precious souls entrusted to your care? Certainly reading, chemistry and math have a purpose but for spells and potions? 

Be careful Stephanie, that you don't get brainwashed by an education philosophy proven to have gone astray.

I think that is why reading all types and styles is of upmost importance. It would crazy to remove Romeo and Juliet just bc 2 teenagers fall in live and then end up taking their own lives. The play doesn’t prompt youth suicide but if the same logic is used as some do for Harry Potter- then 9th graders should no longer read Shakespeare’s classic.

For one thing, Stephanie, we are discussing two different age groups. I see Harry Potter in Common Core beginning in Kindergarten. This is an age where reality and fantasy can sometimes be confused. You think Harry Potter is a worthy role model? Also, I do not believe Potter's "gift" of sacrifice comes through at the very beginning. A child must go through many days of darkness and danger before any "sacrifice" in Harry Potter.. 

The Jesuits say, give us a child till he’s seven and we’ll have him for life. What you model in a child that early stays with him for life. 

You had better be certain you are modeling good, Stephanie, because God warns, "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea." Matthew 18:6

If even one child turns to witchcraft through this "curriculum" that will be held to your account. A soul matters. 

Could Potter's revenge against Lord Voldermort influence impressionable or vulnerable children to exact revenge against classmates who wrong them? Perhaps by bringing guns into schools to shoot those who have rejected or humiliated them? 

What about deception and anger being glorified. Are these characteristics you want to encourage in children? Is the theme of death a good one for Kindergarten through elementary children? We wonder at the rise of suicide and self-mutilation? Think about Dobby as a role model. 

Just because it is "fun" does not justify its use in a classroom. Reading Harry Potter should be an activity for parent and child because the parent knows the effect on the child. "Fun" does not make it fit for a classroom. We must guard our children's minds just as we do their bodies. God says, "As a man thinketh, so is he." Even if you are not a Christian, it is easy to understand what that means. 

"When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me." 1 Corinthians 13:11. Being an adult means looking to the future and considering the consequences. "Fun" can have many. A teacher is charged with education not entertainment, a concept that the Colleges of Education, influenced by Pestalozzi and his "play theory" have somehow gotten taken away with.

(I find it interesting that Pestalozzi was influenced by Enlightenment philosopher, Rousseau, who had five illiegitimate children by his mistress and left them all at a foundling home insuring their death. What did he know about morality or children at play? Of course, Rousseau's most famous book was Emile in which the child taught himself through discovering the world about him.) Though that was fiction/fantasy many have used that as their guide for education. Strange that we argue that fantasy has no effect and then we refer to Rousseau as a guide in education. 

You imply that this make believe is relevant-- an educational goal that I take issue with because I think education should open doors to opportunities and a vision to a world that can be for each child. I do not want them limited to what is "relevant" to their current situation. Spells, potions, and curses DO NOT have a purpose and place in our daily life nor should they be relevant to their future.

Witchcraft training at the Science and Discovery Center and in Common Core. So what?

Would you send your child to a camp like the one above located in England? Probably not.

But you would send you child to a local "Science and Discovery" Camp for the same activity?

I was searching for things to do with my grandchildren and went to the Science and Discovery Center to find out about their activities and different camps. Imagine my shock to find "Wizards, Witches and Spells" (June 11 - 15) as a summer camp activity for children in Panama City. This is Science?

The effects of role play, a psychotherapeutic technique to change attitudes and beliefs, has long concerned me.

Role Play can become a psychological addiction. 

Suggestions and images can set the stage for beckoning a child to enter the manipulative realm of role-play, where fantasy simulates reality, and the buyer becomes a slave to their programmer.

I wonder how jaded we have become that we do not see the danger here.

"When you enter the land--do not imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable in the Lord." Deuteronomy 18:9-12.

Now, I realize we have all become so wise, sophisticated and cosmopolitan that we mock the Bible, now considered by gullible Christians as the Word of God. I guess now witchcraft is considered a playtime activity that God in His foolishness told us to heed. Dangers? Potential of getting sucked into a lifestyle contrary to his teachings?

 How could that happen?

Dr. Tom Barret warns:

Modern-day practitioners of witchcraft (sometimes call Wicca) are often compulsively promiscuous and abuse drugs. These people are desperate, depressed, and often suicidal. They should not be held up as role models for young children. Unfortunately, these evil books are being read to children in kindergarten and in the early grade school years.

We express our concern at the growing rate of suicide and self-mutilation of our children. Barret continues citing his concerns: 


Even Potter fans have become concerned over the self-abuse of one Rowling character, Dobby. He abuses himself by hitting himself on his head and burning his own hands.One supporter of the books posted this in a Harry Potter chatroom: "Although I love the books so much, I am concerned with the influence Dobby may have on young children. Particularly because the lovable and comical Dobby engages in quite severe forms of hurting himself (such as ironing his hands) as a punishment and to show loyalty...I am particularly troubled about the potential for social contagion. It has been shown that 8% of middle school students, 14 to 15% of high school students, and about 20% of college students have engaged in non-suicidal self-injury on at least one occasion. "This indicates that self-injury is a surprisingly prevalent public health problem. The social contagion of another self-injurious behavior, suicide, has been established in studies showing that the suicide rate increases in periods after publicized suicides. This has resulted in news programs limiting the publicity surrounding suicides. The Continuing Story of Joe's Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus...this time at SHANDS

So, here we go again. After the horrible experience Joe had with the last shunt, we were apprehensive about trying this again. After a bit of research, we chose to go to SHANDS, a stellar research hospital in Gainesville, Florida, four hours from Panama City.

The process to get into this hospital is first to get a referral from your physician and then have your records FAXED or mailed to the New Patient part of Shands (352.627.4295 though this may just be neurological). Include the last 6 to 9 months of records and imagery, reasons you need evaluation, insurance information, and your demographics. They will then send the referral to the doctor that is needed to move you through the hospital.

They sent us to neurologist, Dr. Christopher Hess, with whom we were much impressed! Getting the images to Dr. Hess was rather complicated. Of course, the CD would fall out of the envelope I carried with us with the hospital records. So, I had to mail those images after our visit on May 14. I mailed them on May 15 (Tuesday) Priority Mail ($7.30). Records show (KEEP THOSE RECEIPTS!!!!!) that mail reached SHANDS on Thursday, but the "agent" somehow had trouble getting the CD to Dr. Hess. So after a week passed with me calling daily to see if that CD had reached the doctor, I went and got another CD of the imagery and sent it by FED EX ($38.50) overnight. Once again KEEP THE RECEIPT AND TRACKING INFORMATION. Another week passed and they still could not find the CD. I finally contacted FED EX and they started a Trace. FINALLY the person who signed for the FED EX package was located and the CD appeared on Dr. Hess' desk!

Dr. Hess called and told us he concurred with the Panama City neurologist that Joe did indeed have NPH and Joe could now go on to the neurosurgeon. I was thrilled. Joe was losing ground daily. We figured he could go 10 steps and then begin those stutter steps where it seemed his feet were glued to the ground and his mind had to be rebooted. So he had to stop and then start again. He was using the cane and was almost to the walker necessity.

Brandy called from Dr. Roper's office and helped us by making the meeting with Dr. Roper and all the other Pre Op appointments on Tuesday, June 5. His surgery would be the next day, June 6. We felt the surgery was time sensitive now.

We were blessed that my sweet brother, Elkanah Burson, was available to go with us to Shands. It takes three to handle what is necessary. One needed to stay with Joe who was unstable on his feet and his memory was being affected, while the other got the car, carried the luggage in, or many other tasks required with a hospital stay as you can imagine.

Let me mention here the process of acquiring a room in which to stay. I ACCIDENTALLY made reservations through Reservations.com. The Ad popped up and looked like I was making the reservation through the official Holiday Inn site. It wasn't and though I thought it was like all reservations and you could cancel if you did not need the room, it was not. So I learned to go directly to the Holiday Inn on University Avenue to make the reservation and then you can get your room cancelled with no charge plus you get the SHANDS DISCOUNT. And there is a shuttle if you need it. It is about a five minute drive from the hotel to SHANDS.We wound up paying for a night we did not use. I won't make that mistake again.

Two nights before the patient is to shower with an antibacterial soap and apply Mupricin into the nostrils and repeat this in the morning before surgery. MRSA is in our nostrils we were told and the application of Mupricin helps keep down that infection. That was part of the patient meds the next morning as well.

The Neurosurgical hospital, located on the Circle of Hope on the University of Florida campus, opened in December. Valet service is free to those who have a handicap sticker. The facility is beautiful and the staff expedites everything. I accompanied Joe to the Pre Op. Every nurse and professional that we met were friendly, patient and competent. The picture above is from Pre Op when he was lying down. The picture below comes after a trip to the bathroom with Nurse Catherine before going to surgery.


The surgery took about 2 hours but that was from when he left me. I was able to rejoin him in the Recovery Room where he was chatting about being on the Internet to make a gift to Shands or something somewhere. Fascinating. He told everyone. They took him to get another CT scan and X-Ray and finally we were off to his room in the same building on the 5th floor.

Here we discovered the sweetest, most patient nurses I have ever seen. I guess being on the neurosurgical ward required PATIENCE.

 Joe was supposed to have bed rest at a 30 degree angle for the first 24 hours. After ten minutes he was complaining "I am going to go stir crazy if I have to stay like this. I want to get up. I want to sit on that chair." The alarm kept going off as he attempted to make his escape.

He finally sat up to eat his meal and the incision on his tummy started bleeding. Fortunately not too much, but enough for me to try to keep him down. He ate the fried chicken, I ate the macaroni and cheese. The collard greens got left. And then he started vomiting. They gave him medicine to quiet the vomiting.

Well, that scared me. Would that shake his brain around? Cause another subdural hematoma. Not his concern.

Did it keep him down on the bed?

No.

It was a rough night.

Though there was a sofa that made into a bed and I was grateful for being able to stretch out after the love seat experience at Bay Med, it was hard and the hospital pillows crackled with ever movement. It was hard to sleep there. Joe was miserable.

Page, a very sweet CNA, gave him a hot bath and that helped immensely though sleep eluded him until early morning in spite of the hydrocodone and two doses of Benadryl.

Morning came. and by then everyone was convinced that he was well enough to go home.

Did you know that infants cannot leave the hospital until they have urinated and had a bowel movement? It is the same with surgical patients who have had abdominal incisions, apparently. No body functions are sacred in a hospital and proof of activity is welcomed by all. Anesthesia also slows things down.

By 1 PM we were prepared to head out of the hospital and on the road to Dothan.

Let me mention some things that came up during our stay. I mentioned my concern about Janitorial services at Bay Med with cloth mop heads that went from room to room. The Administration word on that? "We contract out our Janitorial services." At SHANDS they use mop covers much like Swiffer mops where they strip the cover off in every room and throw it in the wash container where it is sent to be washed and sanitized (or they thought) perhaps disposed of.

Another concern I mentioned was having seen cell phones carried from room to room. One resident told me in Pre Op that cell phones could not carry pseudomonas or Staph. So I did a Google Search. And told the nurses.

Among the total 664 bacterial isolates contaminating the mobile phones, the gram-positive bacteria were coagulase-negative Staphylococcus (CONS) (255), followed by methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) (186), methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) (16), Micrococcus sp. (27), Diptheroids (22), Enterococcus sp.(10).Among gram-negative isolates Acinetobacter species (86), Escherichia coli (15), Klebsiella pneumoniae(20), Enterobacter species (9), Citrobacter species (8), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (6) and Proteus mirabilis(4) were common. [Figure 2].A total of 16 MRSA were isolated from the mobile phones which were distributed as surgery (3), orthopedics (1), physiology (3) and medical students (9). Out of total 186 MSSA isolated from the mobile phone samples 97 were from the hospital doctors and staff, 16 from the college faculty and staff, 63 from the students and 10 from the public colony.Among the 94 MSSA isolated from the hand swab samples, 61 belonged to the hospital doctors and staff, 8 to the college faculty and staff, 25 to the students and none in the public colony [Table 1]. 2.  With all the achievements and benefits of the mobile phone, it is easy to overlook the health hazard it might pose to its many users [1]. The constant handling of mobile phones by users in hospitals (by patients, visitors and HCWs, etc.) makes it an open breeding place for transmission of microorganisms, as well as health care-associated infections (HAIs). This is especially so with those associated with the skin due to the moisture and optimum temperature of human body especially our palms [2]. These factors and the heat generated by mobile phones contribute to harboring bacteria on the device at alarming levels. When we consider a phone's daily contact with the face, mouth, ears, and hands, the dire health risks of using germ-infested mobile devices are obvious [3]. Unlike our hands, which are easily disinfected using alcohol-based hand rubs (ABHRs) that are made available readily across all hospitals and medical facilities, our mobile phones are cumbersome to clean. We even rarely make an effort to disinfect them. As a result, these devices have the potential for contamination with various bacterial agents [4]. Doctors and healthcare staff working in critical areas as intensive care units (ICUs) and operating units are highly exposed to deadly micro-organisms. These mobile phones used by HCWs often become carriers and may serve as vectors and spread microorganisms wherever they are taken along [5]. Colonized micro-organisms on the devices of HCWs may be transmitted to patients even if patients do not have direct contact with mobile phones [6]. These organisms if pathogenic can be detrimental to the health of the patients especially those in critical care units and if the organisms transferred happen to be drug-resistant; the situation becomes even more grave as it becomes difficult to treat because of the limited drug options available [7]. HAIs affect more than 25 percent of admitted patients in developing countries. In U.S. hospitals, they cause 1.7 million infections per year and are associated with approximately 100,000 deaths. It is estimated that one third of these infections could be prevented by adhering to standard infection control guidelines [8]. Multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria are commonly implicated in HAIs and can be challenging to eliminate [9].
It wasn't long before this conversation spread throughout the Pre Op, I was told. This was not a topic that would be popular, obviously. There could be some answers to this. Like disposable plastic phone covers that health care providers put on their phones every time they change their gloves. Or voice activated blue tooth headphones.  
It is June 8, the third day after the surgery on the 6th. He is taking no meds.  Joe is now happy at home and drove to his coffee group this morning. Later he got a buzz cut like he had at The Citadel so everything will grow out the same time. Dr Roper not only did the head incisions and closure, he did the abdominal incisions and closure. The stitches look clean and neat. Joe was able to shower 48 hours after the surgery with instructions to keep the incisions clean and dry. He had a good night's sleep in his own bed with his own kitchen close by. 
I think his walking is much better just a few days after surgery. I am hopeful this shunt will improve his quality of life. I asked Joe's nurse Rita if he was their worst patient ever and was told, "No, I have had worse."  This adventure certainly proved worthy of a segment on the sitcom Lily plans to write someday that she will call  "It's All About Poppy."
