Illinois Catholic conference fights marriage by telling gays to live 'chaste lives'

In preparation for the coming marriage fight, the Illinois Catholic Conference has already assembled a team to fight against us and created a fourteen page "toolkit" to distribute to its members. That toolkit's suggestion for LGBT citizens of the state is to join the "ex-gay" Courage ministry, which tells us that we are to live celibate lives:

It never ends at marriage. In any state, in every fight, with every team, stuff like this always pops up. Because this...

Applying 'Brady Bunch' era precedent (?) in a 'Modern Family' world

I am so tired of social conservatives bringing up Baker v. Nelson as if nothing has changed in the subsequent forty years. This from National Organization For Marriage chair John Eastman:

Prior to the Perry challenge to Proposition 8, no judge had ever found a federal constitutional right to same-sex marriage. Such a contention has expressly been rejected by the Supreme Court itself in its 1972 decision in Baker v. Nelson. That's why, before Perry, most legal experts felt it was a huge gamble...

Bryan Fischer: Why wouldn't people abort gay babies?

Screen Shot 2012-12-12 At 2.37.15 Pm

"As I have said before, I suspect that not even homosexual activists today want the gay gene to be found, even if it exists, because of advances in prenatal genetic testing. It is now possible to routinely screen for 3500 genetic defects while a child is still in the womb.

So these activists rationally fear that pre born children who are detected with this gene will be aborted before they even have the chance to be born. After all, if 90% of babies in the womb who are diagnosed with Downs synd...

Video: Come for the country music, stay for the discredited junk science that harms many

Being about fifteen minutes from where my younger gay self grew up, this dangerous attempt to mislead my current-day counterparts really hits home:

Announcing the Restored Hope Network from RestoredHopeNetwork on Vimeo.

And they even used Dolly in the ad?! Oh no, no, no, no, no. You lose that right when you turn in your gay card.

The marriage fight of an earlier 12/12/12

Oh sorry, NOM—we've all been judging you by your actions. Our bad.

Check out this bull:

Um, except for the fact that in NOM's five years of existence, the organization has dedicated maybe .2% of its work (if I'm being generous) to something other than stopping gays from marrying. This isn't an organization that has fought divorce, worked to stop out-of-wedlock births, launched generally pro-marriage ad campaigns to rival the ones they run to stop same-gender marriages, or dedicated even a tiny fraction of their millions of expended dollars toward causes beyon...

Professional 'ex-gays' continue to speak, continue to help our side

Screen Shot 2012-12-12 At 10.14.53 Am
Greg Quinlan, the self-identified "ex-gay" who runs the PFOX advocacy group, continues to help us connect the dots between the anti-equality movement's fight against marriage equality in the court and generalized animus for gays as people. Speaking about the pending Supreme Court fight, Quinlan tells the American Family Association's One News Now:

"Mr. Olsen and his colleague are doing everything that they can to normalize homosexual behavior, which is an attack on society as a whole and our f...

Bryan Fischer thinks he's entitled to his own facts; is wrong

According to the FBI's data on 2011 hate crime incidents (the latest available data), sexual orientation was the second highest motivation, a full percentage point above religious bias:

But who needs solidly documented information when you have an agenda that wishes to both keep LGBT people vulnerable and to position the LGBT rights movement as nasty liars:

No, Bryan—they are not so rare. Sadly. This is one time I wish you were right. But you're not. As per usua...

FRC seeks new company to ship its bull

Tony Perkins, via email action alert, vows to cut off business with the pro-gay UPS. Oh, and he of course subtly connects gays to child sex abuse:

"The Boy Scouts of America has for decades been a force for moral integrity and leadership in the United States. Sadly, their principled stances have marked them as a target for ridicule and harassment by organizations that disagree with their convictions. Although as
