Make the yuletide anti-gay: NOM co-founder wants to stuff your stocking, unthread your bond
National Organization co-founder Robert George, a man who has admits that he finds "sodomitical acts" to be "intrinsically non-marital and, as such, immoral," wants to stuff your holiday stocking with his new book on why discrimination should be our national policy:
Because coal is just so passé. Folks who were "naughty" enough to have been born gay get a book, a ban, and a life that is unnecessarily turned into a fight.
Don't even think about it, Santa.

Video: 'Gay unions don't harm peace. Weapons do it'
The Pope spent yet another Christmas address attacking gay families. But apparently peaceful pushback against that rhetorical aggression is not something the local authorities will tolerate.
Video (which comes from Youtuber "piovonoraneTv") was filmed in Rome's St. Peter's Square:

Sure. Because it's not the influential religious figure's continual knocking of certain kinds of humans that's posing the threat. No, no—...

This tragedy is too much to process. I just can't write about the usual.

Audio: NOM's Roback Morse links Nazi era photo to future shaming of same-sex marriage supporters
I've written at length about how six-figure-compensated National Organization For Marriage employee Jennifer Roback Morse is single-handedly destroying NOM's messaging. Carlos Maza brings us more grist for that mill:
NOM's Morse: Same-Sex Marriage Is Part Of A "Pagan Ideology," Like Nazism [Equality Matters]
And as is the case with so much of Ms. Roback Morse's rhetoric, this is not just about LGBT people either. Contraception? Reproductive freedom? IVF? According to this NOM employee, the futu...
Amends for heinous amendments: Crist regrets backing constitutional marring
Local media get Florida's former Governor on the record:
Asked whether he regretted decisions or positions he took as a Republican over more than two decades, Crist discussed his 2006 decision to sign a petition to enshrine a ban on same-sex marriage in the state Constitution.
Now a Democrat, Charlie Crist regrets signing anti-gay marriage petition [Tampa Bay Times]
There's going to be so much more of this in the coming years. My take: Accept the change of heart but demand the individual take co...

The final "Daily Show" of 2012 began with what might just be the hottest conversation of 2013. We perpetually-in-the-focus gays are the star:

Antonin Scalia's church promoted event dealing w/ 'challenge of same-sex attractions'; son was key speaker
This comes from a bulletin of St Catherine of Siena, the Opus Dei–affiliated church in Great Falls, VA, where the Scalia family, the Santorums, and other prominent D.C. area conservatives are parishioners:
Why did Paul Scalia get this gig, you ask? Oh, well because Paul Scalia is deeply involved with the Courage organization, the group that is essentially the "ex-gay" program of the Catholic faith (with an emphasis on "chastity" rather than "change.") In fact, Paul Scali...
Focus on the Family's Glenn Stanton: Gays are 'cultural constructs', 'political statements'; only fifty years old
The man who has called homosexuality "a particularly evil lie of Satan" is now claiming that we are all just fallen heterosexuals who have adopted an identity for political purposes:
Janet Mefferd Show, 12/13/12 [AFTAH]
Because that really is what we were all thinking when we were scared teens in our rural towns. "How can I help mine political opportunity out of my burgeoning attractions?" we all asked.
Ugh.
