Audio: 'Communist, Muslim, Sodomite' #PerkinsLive

A responsible radio host would reply to the following caller, "No, actually he's a Christian whose policies are pretty darn far from Communism and whose marriage and family seem among the most intact to ever grace the Pennsylvania Avenue. And please, sir—the word 'Sodomite' is silly and offensive."

Illinois Family Institute relies on 'ex-gay' Linda Jernigan to rally against civil marriage equality

This is an official Illinois Family Institute event geared toward turning local pastors against the marriage equality bill that's working its way through the legislature:

NOM, not content with weakening the GOP via marriage, moves to immigration reform

"[President Obama’s immigration proposal] is yet another example of the President playing politics rather than enforcing our nation’s laws and offering a true, workable solution. First, his Administration threw in the towel and refused to defend the Defense of Marriage

Video: Defense nominee Hagel fields gay-themed questions. How'd he do?

One question about far-right attempts to undermine inclusive service and another about chaplains. Both videos come courtesy of AmericaBlog:

I don't have a huge problem with either answer, but I know that some do. Your thoughts?

Chris Kluwe, Family Equality Council remind anti-gay sports stars: 'Kids are listening'

Reacting to San Francisco 49ers cornerback Chris Culliver, who now says he was just "joking around" when he launched into an anti-gay rant:

“While he’s certainly entitled to speak his mind, Culliver is a role model whether he likes it or not,“ said [Minnesota Vikings player Chris Kluwe]. “There are kids all over the United States who aspire to be right where he is and he has an obligation to consider the effect of his words. Kids are listening.”

'Same gender romance activists'

The Florida Family Association intends it to be a denunciation. But I don't know—I kind of like the "same gender roman activist" label:

Romance? Yes, please.

Same gender? Yup, that's the way my romantic leanings were designed. That's accurate.

Activist? Okay, sure. I mean, it's really nothing more than defending my life from persecution and/or seeking the rights and protections that I deserve. But since there is a counter movement, I guess it's fair to call the choice to...

Liberty Counsel's Prop 8, DOMA briefs frame homosexuality as 'lifestyle choice'

This comes from the anti-LGBT legal outfit's amicus briefs in the Windsor and Perry cases (same text in both):

Not a huge surprise. After all, Liberty Counsel went absolutely apeshit after Prop 8 lost its first round, attacking the Alliance Defending Freedom (formerly the Alliance Defense Fund) for not using so-called "reparative therapy" in testimony. LC works from the decided belief that gay people can and should change. They own this view, which is even somewhat admirable in a way.

Lower e-book pricing

Just an FYI that the ebook editions of If It's A Choice, My Zygote Chose Balls: Making Sense of Senseless Controversy are now priced at $8.58 across all platforms. That is lower than most other e-books in its category (only three of the top 20 rated LGBT books on Amazon are lower priced http://www.amazon.com/gp/top-rated/di...)
