Sr. Adviser for Romney's Iowa campaign: 'The culture wars are kind of over and the Republicans largely lost'
Another (*heterosexual) Republican comes out for marriage equality. This time it's a key campaign figure from a key state where marriage is currently legal but under constant threat from the state GOP:
Dave Kochel, a veteran Iowa Republican strategist and 2012 Romney Iowa Campaign Senior Adviser, is now behind a new effort that could prove controversial with some Republican activists.

We tried to tell you this, Mr. Kochel, back...
NOM admits its fears: This year's equality gains send national signals
In a recent email blast regarding the possibility of marriage equality coming to Wyoming, the National Organization For Marriage unleashed an uncharacteristic moment of candor. NOM wrote:
Makes sense. NOMshould be concerned. Those of us on the pro-equality side have several states on the horizon where victory, when coupled with our historic wins at the November polls, will undoubtedly send "[good] signals" to the entire nation. We are soon to cross the ten state threshhold, which is a big...
Video: Terry Jones, friends burn pro-gay Obama, Clinton in effigy
According to the press release, these are the reasons:
But at the actual action, Pastor Jones through the President's supposed promotion of bestiality into the mix as well. Because why not?
This before Jones burned two noose-strung representations of current and past Democratic presidents while his friends cheered their rapturous support:
Well it is winter. One might find one's individual way to stay warm.
Me? I find warmth in a President who stands up for human dignity and in the fact that extre...
'Times' Opinion: Obama the talker needs to become Obama the walker
The inaugural mentions were awesome. Now it's a new week:
![]()
Now that Mr. Obama has declared that he believes denying gay people the right to wed is not only unfair and morally wrong but also legally unsupportable, the urgent question is how he will translate his words into action. To start, he should have his solicitor general file a brief in the Proposition 8 case being argued before the Supreme Court in March, saying that California’s voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional...
Deeply Catholic OPUSfidelis behind NOM's pending SCOTUS march
This won't be a surprise to regular NOM watchers, but it is worth nothing that the National Organization For Marriage's Catholic-motivated tech outreach firm, OPUSfidelis, is once again masterminding the NOM strategy:
It's even more relevant considering this "marriage march" involves, in full, a civil law case that will be argued before a church-disconnected Supreme Court of the United States. Even some on NOM's side of this case might be interested to know that canonical law is what is largel...
ADF attorney equates KKK wedding's offense with that of gay marriage
This comes from that reliable provider of jaw-descending quotes, WorldNetDaily. Subject is the Colorado civil unions bill:
“You can’t compel speech,” [ADF's Kelly Fiedorek] said. “For example it would be unfair to ask an African-American photographer to shoot a wedding where the wedding party wore white robes of the KKK. He has the right to not use his artistic abilities as a photographer in a way that compromises his deeply held beliefs. The same standard applies to a person who believes marr...
NOM's pants are on fire; rest of outfit is pretty darn combustible too
The independent Politifact looks at NOM's latest ad pertaining to Rhode Island marriage equality and the supposed Pandora's Box attached to it. Surprise, surprise—Politifact is all like, "You lyin', Brian!"

NOM creates another logo that *totally* looks like a gay matchmaking site
It's supposed to be a logo for the "march for marriage" that I scooped yesterday morning. It instead looks like a site for linking together two men:
Who knows? Considering NOM's luck of recent, morphing into a gay dating site just might this org's exit strategy.
*REMINDER: 2M4M
NOM resorts to posting nasty photo memes
This seriously comes from NOM's official Facebook account:
This is not just anti-marriage—it is anti–gay relationships. There is no other interpretation.
As NOM struggles to find a message, expect more and worse.
