Audio: Vote against equality, Rhode Island (because gay parents treat their kids like 'teacup dogs') #ri4m
The National Organization For Marriage's Christopher Plante thinks he has the intellectual capital to tell Rhode Islanders how to proceed on civil marriage rights:
Don't believe any pragmatic talk that might come out of Mr. Plante's mouth. He has made his intensely low regard for gays and our families known for all the world to hear:

Video: Rhode Island's unanimous House Judiciary vote on marriage (#ri4m)
Because it's fun to watch history and not just read it, here's the official video clip of yesterday's historic vote to advance marriage equality in The Ocean State:
A full House vote is expected to take place tomorrow. Personally, I think they should just keep this unanimous thing going. Makes it much easier on the vote counters.

Finding namesake too 'moey, American Family Association looks abroad
The social conservatives have sure learned to love Russia. That's because, to hear the American Family Association's One News Now tell it, that nation has seen "America's error" and plans to do something about it before that pesky gay takes hold:
Russia is preparing to debate and act on legislation barring homosexuality from the public arena, including homosexual "pride" parades. The country is moving to ban same-sex "marriage" and even public acts of affection between homosexuals.

Audio: You guys, stop hurting Tony and Tim's feelings. They just want to call you unnatural and deny you of rights—gah!
Tony Perkins and Tim Wildmon both head up organizations (AFA and FRC, respectively) that dedicate larger portions of their days toward denying LGBT people of their rights and condemning LGBT people as broken and in need of "change." But according to these two, it's the LGBT activists who are the real meanies in this debate.
That's the first ridiculous claim. But then stick around (around 1:43) when Tim Wildmon makes the *LUDICROUS* claim that President Obama, a person who was always generally...
Illinois Family Institute head: Gays are 'slaves to the sin of sexual perversion'
The Illinois Family Institute is determined to just hand us the marriage debate on a silver platter. Here's the head of the Illinois Family Institute, that state's leading "pro-family" lobby group, using shockingly outspoken "ex-gay" Linda Jernigan as an example of gays not needing to be "slaves to the sin of sexual perversion":
This is the same man who is aligning with NOM on trying to oust state GOP chairman Pat Brady simply because said chair is pro-equality. So I gu...
Oh, Gary—POTUS can walk, chew gum, and 'sanctify sodomy' at the same time
Yes. Yes, he does.
I think that's how I'm going to respond to every charge that the anti-gay crowd lays at the President's feet this term.

RI House Judiciary Committee unites against discrimination
Unanimous:
PROVIDENCE – In an historic step forward in the fight to give all Rhode Island families full and equal access to civil marriage rights, the Judiciary Committee of the Rhode Island House of Representatives voted unanimously to send HB5015 to the floor of the House for a full vote.
Momentum Builds as House Committee Strongly Endorses Marriage Equality [RI United]
Onward.

Anti-LGBT people think God is anti-LGBT.
I couldn't resist responding to the very wealthy author who has amassed a whole lot of lucre off of his biblical rigidity:

Illinois Family Institute's Higgins: Instead of Selma & Seneca Falls, POTUS should have linked gays to pedophilia
First there's this:
Race and sex are 100 percent heritable conditions that are in all cases immutable and have no relation to volitional acts that are legitimate objects of moral assessment.
Homosexuality, on the other hand, is not 100 percent heritable, is not in all cases immutable, and is constituted by volitional acts that are legitimate objects of moral assessment. A more sound analogy would compare homosexuality to polyamory or pedophilia (or for those who put finer distinctions on the co...
GLAAD: CNN grants Peter Sprigg undeserved platform, pass
It's always offensive to hear someone who works to deny you of your rights tell you that you actually already have equal rights. But when it comes from a man who has said, as plain as day and as flippantly as a careless school kid, that he sees "a place for criminal sanctions" against LGBT people, the whole thing takes on a new weight.
