wiff

i forgot to mention that sean lovelace interviewed me about that thing that i wrote. sean lovelace was one of my writing professors at ball state. he taught my fiction 1 class. people in the class kept turning in stories where the main character commits suicide. sean had to tell the students to stop turning in stories where the main character commits suicide because of how retarded that is. he didn't use the word "retarded," because he cares about his job, but that was the gist of it.

i think...

Daniel Bailey, Amazing

here is a post after adam robinson's excellent post about his career as a running back for the iowa hawkeyes.

like adam and his football skils, i am extremely proud of how fast i can run. when i run it's like i'm a cheetah and i can only follow my teeth. i can only let my body follow those teeth as they near their prey, inching, inching, inching, inch by inch, like each inch is not an inch, but two inches, at least. but faster. and a mammal version of that (oh wait, cheetahs are mammals. doi. ...

video poem

adam coates just started a new video journal called unlit, unheated. adam made a video (without permission/permission now granted) for one my poems from the D blog (scroll to the bottom [or for archives sake, (or if you can't seem to be able to download adobe flash like me) here]). here is the original poem.

goodreads / who am i? who should i be?

goodreads has been claiming that i wrote some books that i didn't write.

just to clear things up, i did not write "sorry, no kissing: my encounters with professional escorts." nor did i write "mathodes: etching math in memory: algebra 1."

i did however write this one and this one, so feel free to write reviews on those (assuming you've read them).

i guess i have too common a name. i've been thinking of adopting a pseudonym. maybe i'll be "mark twain." i feel like enough time has passed that "mar...

books and whatnot

jamie iredell wrote a nice little review of the drunk sonnets/rant about hipster assholes. i met jamie at awp last year. super-nice guy. jamie also has a new book prose. poems. a novel. i have yet to buy it because of the whole poor grad student thing, but i can verify that his chapbook "atlanta" is definitely worth checking out.

someone, please, give me a job. someone, please, fix that. now taking donations.

the only book i've bought recently is blake butler's scorch atlas, which is ridiculous...

all houses...

for some reason, i really want to call attention to a blog that i started this past summer in muncie, in, in which i scan objects and photos that i found in abandoned houses in the city of muncie (actually, these all came from one house on jackson st.).

i kind of abandoned the project, which maybe seems fitting, but oh well. i still have many more beautiful photographs from that house that i'd love to post. maybe i should take some time later this week to do that.

ALL HOUSES WILL ONE DAY BE...

source tags and codes

i think this might be one of my favorite albums of all time. it's a truly violent album. but also very gentle at times, but without losing the violence, i think.

it's pretty much all i've been listening to lately. i want to write poems that feel like this album.
